Dear Senator Obama:
John McCain has now been to Canada, Colombia and Mexico. He met with leaders of these countries and held talks. In Ottawa, he gave a speech to the Economic Club of Canada. In Cartagena, Senator McCain toured the historic city Cartagena, met with Colombian leaders as well with ordinary Colombians in a meet and greet and reviewed joint US-Colombian anti-narcotics efforts. In Mexico, Senator McCain toured the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe. He then met with President Felipe Calderon of Mexico. They talked about trade, immigration and narco-trafficking. He did not hold rallies.
Your idea to hold rallies abroad sets a dangerous precedent. You are politicizing an American political campaign beyond our borders and that carries great risk for the United States and no reward. You are not yet President of the United States. Respect the wishes of Chancellor Angela Merkel and her government. Act like a candidate for President and be respectful of the wishes of others. Here is what Chancellor Merkel’s spokesman, Thomas Steg, had to say on the matter:
“No German candidate for high office would think to use the National Mall or Red Square in Moscow for a rally, because it would be seen as inappropriate,” Mr. Steg said, though he added that Mrs. Merkel welcomed Mr. Obama’s visit.

Obama is unable to handle criticism. However, as president, even Obama with a favorable press cannot avoid criticism. Obama will try to blame his fiascos on Bush but that escape hatch will run its course, the cheering crowds will go away and Obama will unravel.

Take a look at the 2000 election news videos and tell me you don’t see deja vu. This is one rerun I don’t want to watch; or be a part of. Even the voters campaign slogan is the same: “Anyone but Bush” has morphed into “Anyone but Obama”.
This is a guy who doesn’t have boundaries. According to press reports, he already participated in an election abroad, backing a highly controversial candidate and relative in a foreign contest. When is the press going to investigate a U.S. Senator’s very inappropriate involvement in the Kenya elections with Odinga?
This is A US presidential election. What the heck is Obama doing? I think the DNC is looking more idiotic as time goes on for supporting him. Obama has once again insulted the American people. He is not running for president of the world He seems to think he is. Obama in my view is very anti – American. Merci Beaucoup. Your votes weren’t meaningless. The system was flawed, both candidates ran the strategy they thought would win in this flawed system and Mrs. Clinton lost.

I was saying this exact point to my dad last night. I would welcome, with open arms, an African-American President, but only if that person was the right person for the job.

I understand that when you have a historic candidate they are breaking a barrier, forging a new path and have probably come this far by unconventional means. I don’t expect a candidate to be perfect or have no baggage on this journey. I might have overlooked the Chicago politics to a degree, except I have problems with the cast of characters as personalities. And I also have problems with Barack Obama’s character. I am so repelled by him, because of his treatment of Hillary Clinton and his role in subverting democracy that I could never support his candidacy. That I’ll never vote for him goes without saying. I just feel this election crossed the boundaries of decency. It was a tainted and corrupt procedure that has turned me off from the Democratic party even more so after their caving in to the Bush administration since 2006. And now Pelosi is talking impeachment, a process that will take six months minimum, if it ever happens. It’s a dangling carrot to keep the base from deserting.
…and maybe loving his/her Country would be good!

There was a degree of segregation, yes, but not apartheid. But, anyway, Cohen went on to characterize both major parties as basically the same, so–what the hey–just vote for the black guy and feel good about it! In my entire life, I have never heard of an American presidential candidate electioneering in a foreign country, much less at the site of such a symbol of Nazi power, which is what the Brandenburg Gate is.
