if you lived here you would know that merkel is against a multicultural society,is an east-beastie who was born in the east, fake -ass puppet-she is basicly useless when it comes to reforms.
nazi's have marched through the brandenburget tor,so its an insult to a very frighteningly competent black man.
but he is speaking here in berlin today, its the 24th july and know what? 700,000 people are expected to come.

you lot who hate him are a disgrace to america and an insult to the word human being.bush is a war criminal and should be impeached.period.

Great cartoon, Pat, as usual. The emperor of arrogance strikes again! Beware, Europe, he wants to rule you, too! Not to honor Chancellor Merkel's feelings is beyond audacious! Pass the man a piece of humble pie!

Immoral, greedy and indifferent” are just words.

No they are not, They are describing BO's whole political career.

Immoral is to profit from the misery of the poor and then claim ignorance.
Greedy is pandering for dollars, we don't need the people we need the checks.
Indifference, ? Take yor pick, You have to ask?

Invesatment dollars in the energy sector are finite. More investment in nuke plants means less investment in oil and gas development.

You need to get out of the Hieght more often.

Obama may skate through without any real challenge OTHER than the ABC debate.

By Charles Krauthammer

WASHINGTON -- Barack Obama wants to speak at the Brandenburg Gate.

He figures it would be a nice backdrop. The supporting cast -- a cheering audience and a few fainting frauleins -- would be a picturesque way to bolster his foreign policy credentials.

What Obama does not seem to understand is that the Brandenburg Gate is something you earn. President Reagan earned the right to speak there because his relentless pressure had brought the Soviet empire to its knees and he was demanding its final "tear down this wall" liquidation. When President Kennedy visited the Brandenburg Gate on the day of his "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, he was representing a country that was prepared to go to the brink of nuclear war to defend West Berlin.

Who is Obama representing? And what exactly has he done in his lifetime to merit appropriating the Brandenburg Gate as a campaign prop? What was his role in the fight against communism, the liberation of Eastern Europe, the creation of what George Bush 41 -- who presided over the fall of the Berlin Wall but modestly declined to go there for a victory lap -- called "a Europe whole and free"?

Does Obama not see the incongruity? It's as if a German pol took a campaign trip to America and demanded the Statue of Liberty as a venue for a campaign speech. (The Germans have now gently nudged Obama into looking at other venues.)

Americans are beginning to notice Obama's elevated opinion of himself.

There's nothing new about narcissism in politics. Every senator looks in the mirror and sees a president. Nonetheless, has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?

Obama is a three-year senator without a single important legislative achievement to his name, a former Illinois state senator who voted "present" nearly 130 times. As president of the Harvard Law Review, as law professor and as legislator, has he ever produced a single notable piece of scholarship? Written a single memorable article? His most memorable work is a biography of his favorite subject: himself.

It is a subject upon which he can dilate effortlessly. In his victory speech upon winning the nomination, Obama declared it a great turning point in history -- "generations from now we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment" -- when, among other wonders, "the rise of the oceans began to slow." As economist Irwin Stelzer noted in his London Daily Telegraph column, "Moses made the waters recede, but he had help." Obama apparently works alone.

Obama may think he's King Canute, but the good king ordered the tides to halt precisely to refute sycophantic aides who suggested that he had such power. Obama has no such modesty.

After all, in the words of his own slogan, "we are the ones we've been waiting for," which, translating the royal "we," means: "I am the one we've been waiting for." Amazingly, he had a quasi-presidential seal with its own Latin inscription affixed to his podium, until general ridicule -- it was pointed out that he was not yet president -- induced him to take it down

He lectures us that instead of worrying about immigrants learning English, "you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish" -- a language Obama does not speak. He further admonishes us on how "embarrassing" it is that Europeans are multilingual but "we go over to Europe, and all we can say is, 'merci beaucoup.'" Obama speaks no French.

His fluent English does, however, feature many such admonitions, instructions and improvements. His wife assures us that President Obama will be a stern taskmaster: "Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism ... that you come out of your isolation. ... Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed."

For the first few months of the campaign, the question about Obama was: Who is he? The question now is: Who does he think he is?

We are getting to know. Redeemer of our uninvolved, uninformed lives. Lord of the seas. And more. As he said on victory night, his rise marks the moment when "our planet began to heal." As I recall -- I'm no expert on this -- Jesus practiced his healing just on the sick. Obama operates on a larger canvas.

The first time Obama participated in a debate not moderated by someone on the tank for him, he was miserable. Remember the Republican debates and how McCain moved from underdog to winner? Don't underestimate McCain in a debate. He is a good debater.

sfhillary, I'm responding to a comment made by someone else and I'll take a pass on the first two since I have no knowledge there. I will agree with the original comment on indifferent. Statements by those who worked with him in the Community Center in Chicago pretty much confirm this view. There isn't a mathematical equation for indifference and people may see different things in his attitudes. Some, me included, are unnerved by the speed of his transference from a state senate to presidential candidate. We are less likely to accept his explanation of his vote for the new FISA since we have been writing senators and congressmen and the media to protest this violation of our rights from the time the truth came out about Bush circumventing the court system. It also disturbs me he contradicted himself with this vote which, as with too many other things, he made a statement of strong opposition in the beginning. He either changed his mind (why) or he never intended to vote in opposition to begin with. Now, while this in no way justifies a comparison to the Nazi Reich, many people have made that comparison to Bush based on his opinions of the Court. Civil liberties and separation of church and state don't change overnight. It's a steady erosion. We have had eight years to witness an alarming perversion of the constitution and what's been lost, is hard to retrieve.

Bottom line: Obama just doesn't know what he is doing in foreign affairs. He doesn't understand protocol and he doesn't understand international relations. He doesn't understand how to use force and he doesn't understand how to negotiate (or else he would have never agreed to talk with rogue dictators without preconditions).

Oh what a mess this is!

I really love the cartoon, it made me giggle. You know it is true he is acting as if he has already won with his TRIP. I wonder if Obama is into the SECRET - I frist thought of this when I saw the SEAL. Now a trip as if you are the President.

sfhillary, doesn't that also mean he is just another politician, interested in nothing more than furthering his career? I don't know Ms. Palmer, but she said approximately the same thing Rev. Wright said in his National Press Club speech. If you believed what so many in the media and his supporters say, the principle reason to vote for him would be his promise of a different kind of politics. Rev. Wright was a friend and spiritual advisor for many years. Who would know him better outside his own family? In fact, his family doesn't know much about him. He lived outside the country for the first ten years of his life and his father is not an American citizen. He is the first presidential candidate in over two hundred years to have a parent not born in this country. We knew where Bush, Kerry and Gore finished in college and their grades. There was no question who their parents were and their citizenship status. When he released his book "Dreams of My Father" is was not successful and when he released it the second time in 2004, it had been revised. He misrepresented the nature of his relationship with Rezko and possibly Bill Ayers. He denied hearing Rev. Wright make controversial remarks and corrected himself in his Pa. speech. The point is, how can you not question and want to know the truth and all of it before he becomes POTUS? American people have a right to question any politician. The politician has a choice about his response, unfortunately, when he/she won't answer questions directly, it is human nature to become suspicious.

Just one little thing. Alice Palmer was a mentor for Obama. She held fundraisers for him during his first campaign. Every signiture on the petition was challenged. EVERY ONE! And she was a popular Black female state senator from the same district Obama ran for. It must have been hurtful for her, but I guess, that's just politics as usual for Chicago and Obama.

The fact that MicHELLe isn't going on the "historic" trip says one thing.

It ain't going so well for ol' Barky Obutthead.

He has to keep Mrs. Angry Obutthead home.

The air will be fresher while Obutthead is out of the country, however. We can all use the break from the BO stink.

When people are concerned about totalitarian practises they normally refer to the examples they know. We tend to know the Nazis and the "bolsheviks", so we use them. If we knew more about Albania we'd be comparing his moves with Enver Hoxha. I think the Nazis are a more useful analog because a republic transformed into a dictatorship.

This song over 60 years ago reminds me of Obama. Woody was against fascism.

Woody Guthrie - Lindbergh

Mister Charlie Lindbergh, he flew to old Berlin,
Got 'im a big Iron Cross, and he flew right back again
To Washington, Washington.

Misses Charlie Lindbergh, she come dressed in red,
Said: "I'd like to sleep in that pretty White House bed
In Washington, Washington."

Lindy said to Annie: "We'll get there by and by,
But we'll have to split the bed up with Wheeler, Clark, and Nye
In Washington, Washington."

Hitler wrote to Lindy, said "Do your very worst,"
Lindy started an outfit that he called America First
In Washington, Washington.

All around the country, Lindbergh, he did fly,
Gasoline was paid for by Hoover, Clark, and Nye
In Washington, Washington.

Lindy said to Hoover: "We'll do the same as France:
Make a deal with Hitler, and then we'll get our chance
In Washington, Washington."

Then they had a meetin', and all the Firsters come,
Come on a-walkin', they come on a-runnin',
In Washington, Washington.

Yonder comes Father Coughlin, wearin' the silver chain,
Cash on his stomach and Hitler on the brain.
In Washington, Washington.

Mister John L. Lewis would sit and straddle a fence,
His daughter signed with Lindbergh, and we ain't seen her since
In Washington, Washington.

Hitler said to Lindy: "Stall 'em all you can,
Gonna bomb Pearl Harbor with the help of old Japan."
In Washington, Washington.

Then on a December mornin', the bombs come from Japan,
Wake Island and Pearl Harbor, kill fifteen hundred men.
In Washington, Washington

Now Lindy tried to join the army, but they wouldn't let 'im in,
'Fraid he'd sell to Hitler a few more million men.
In Washington, Washington

So I'm a gonna tell you people: If Hitler's gonna be beat,
The common workin' people has got to take the seat
In Washington, Washington.

And I'm gonna tell you workers, 'fore you cash in your checks:
They say "America First," but they mean "America Next!"
In Washington, Washington.
