Bounce Max
By Pat Racimora on July 21, 2008 at 9:45 AM in Fund Raising, Lobbyists, Obama
Max Cleland–a beloved Democrat who lost three limbs in a hand grenade accident while engaged in combat operations in Viet Nam–is a guy you would definitely want to have at your party, especially if you want to be President of the United States. Aside from being a decorated war hero, Cleland was the administrator of the Veterans Administration under Jimmy Carter, a United States Senator, and remains a vocal critic of the Bush Administration.
So, it was a no-brainer for the Obama campaign to invite Cleland to appear at a fundraising event in Atlanta earlier this month. But at the last minute, Cleland’s invitation was yanked from right under his wheelchair.
Why? Well, it turns out that Max Cleland is a registered lobbyist. No, he has never lobbied in Washington. No, he does not represent a huge, greedy corporation. Cleland is a senior policy advisor for Tissue Regeneration Technologies (TRT), a health care company that, according to its motto, believes in “doing well by doing good.” And from all indications the company appears to living up to it. TRT is sponsoring clinical trials as part of the Combat Wound Initiative at Walter Reed Army Medical center, testing the effectiveness of noninvasive technology on soft tissue and bone injuries sustained by American soldiers from blasts, penetrating fragments, and burns from IED’s. Cleland stated, “We [TRT] will be working diligently on behalf of our men and women in uniform to advance this innovative technology into the military arena. I believe it will greatly benefit our soldiers and veterans. Our soldiers deserve the best, and I am very proud to be part of this truly worthy endeavor.”
Well, you don’t want that kind of person at your party.
But let’s look at the larger question, and things quickly turn from a stupid PR decision to downright scary possibilities!
Obama says he will not have anything to do with lobbyists. But does anyone with more than a handful of frontal cortex cells believe that dumping lobbyists will bring an end to influence peddling in Washington? Never mind that “Mr. Hope and Change” enlisted James A. Johnson, a former lobbyist now drawing scrutiny for his ties to subprime-mortgage lender Countrywide Financial Corporation, as a member of his Vice Presidential vetting team. Obama has taken in huge sums of money from corporations and big business and, if you can believe Robert Novak, Obama has been holding closed meetings with undisclosed industry CEOs.
Wouldn’t it be better to shine a bright light on influence peddlers by keeping them registered so we know exactly who they are and who they work for?
Read more about Max Cleland’s “disinvitaion” at Politico.com.

Obama expects to be in the white house for up to 10 years.

of course! perhaps with the assistance of his secret police force!
one more time, in case anyone missed it, Sam Power said he wanted to move away from elections as the end all and be all of governing, uh huh:
sorry for repeating this but I think it is that important and in keeping with this peice, perhaps his private police are to keep him in power for the 10 years he plans to be in:
no he plans to eliminate electocracy, they r such a pain, see Powers comments here:
Obama has talked a lot about the importance of moving away from electocracy,” she says, trying to move on to more comfortable territory, and suggesting that the way people actually live is more important than the “reification of elections”.
“In terms of how radical the shift will be, I think it’s very hard. There’s going to be a huge foreign service and civil service that he will inherit, senators and congressmen who have already been elected. So I think he is one guy, trying to steer this ship of cacophonous agendas into a new place.”

gina — First of all I don’t think Obama wanted to be on the same stage with a war hero who lost his limbs for his country. Hitler didn’t like that kind of thing either.
The reason we have elections is because of a thing called Democracy. Millions fought and died over the last 200 years so that our Democracy reign. Obama wants to be President for life cause he and his warm and charming wife (cough) are the kind of people we would want in our White House forever. LIKE RIGHT McCain 08 — no other option.
i just went to your link and read the article could not find your quote.please for the sake of puma and this coalition provide facts and check your links.the truth is important if we are going to stop barky.
Don, the quotes are from the article. Look under the section — “The odd fib” — in the first two paragraphs.
You’re a bit late.
Well, of course he needs extra time - you can’t be president of these 57(8?) United States in only 8 years.
It’s actually 60. He said he’s been to 57 states with one more to go = 58, will not visit Hawaii and Alaska = 60
Yikes! 8-10 years??
aRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! I can’t even SEE straight to read right now seeing that cartoon!!
OMG! I am such a fan of Max’s it just makes me ARGHHHHHHh when he is dissed in any way!!!!! Very angry! GROWL! :-<
A War Hero triple amputee lobbying for tissue regeneration! The bastard!
I mean it’s not like he’s Unlobbyist Frank Clark, CEO of ComEd (hand picked by Bill Ayers’ daddy) and Board of Directors for Exelon. Now there’s a guy you don’t mind taking 100k from.
and not like that dude Uhhbama loves from ole Chicago pal Crown; that General Dynamics board sitting dude with the many contracts with DOD
Yeah! He’s a good guy too! Not like that Cleland guy!
I think the employees of Exelon gave Obama $269,900, they really like Obama
Yeah I know how that works. I spent enough time in Corporate America.
UPPITY
Is his treatment of Max Cleland getting any coverage in the MSM? Oh, no they’re fixed on Obama shooting hoops instead.
imustprotest — I hope The Military notices how Obama disses a veteran. Wonder how he feels about old people in walkers. Obama told a group of young people — I can’t worry about old people they have had their time. I read about Samantha Power 4 months ago but we have no news media anymore — they tell you what they want you to hear when they want you to hear it.
Besides, he’s old and crippled. Those young folks don’t like old and crippled people getting in the way of their party. Unless of course, one of them is supporting them so they can pretend to be “upscale”.
And went to war for them.
uppity — of course. Hitler couldn’t stand to be around anyone who wasn’t perfect either.
New Anti-Obama Movie: Hype - The Obama Effect

READ THIS, By Donna Brazile, NOV.5, 2004 “WHY AMERICANS HATE DEMOCRATS” How To Tap Into The Obama Factor http://www.slate.com/id/2109328
Oh there’s NO doubt this all started in 2004, including Dean hooking Obama up with his “Web Echo” expert to hook the children ala McGovern. The whole thing has been carefully planned. Now all they need to do is get past November 4 without letting the deja vu socialist, marxist, communist throwback stench get in the way. This is exactly how Richard Nixon got elected a second time.
Except they thought that Obama’s time would come later. They expected to win in 04 and Kerry would have given Obama some exposure and experience. But when they failed, the Obama experiment had to be accelerated. So we have someone who was supposed to be groomed who never got the grooming.
That explains it! We have the prototype Obama, not the refined one!
uppity Obama was trained for 15 years by an Executive Training Program. Every nuance — every movement was planned out. I still think they should have waited 20 years until all us boomers were pushing up daisies –
But the industry CEOs that Obama is meeting with privately are NOT registered lobbyists, so those meetings are OK!
This guy is such a shallow thinker he just doesn’t get it. By this definition, Cheney’s Energy Task Force is A-OK, but Max Cleland should be shunned.
Politico reports that Obama received $25 million in donations on the very last day of June. That sounds odd to me. I wonder who it was from?
Pakistan?
How serendipitous. How fortuitous.
One could almost believe that Obama is some sort of MMessiah with such divine intervention on his behalf!
[dripping with snark]
Right after the WSJ reported he would fall short and only take in about $30 Mil, suddenly there’s an enormous $25 Mil that comes in so that he rakes in $52 Mil–just over the amount he needs to stop the “short” narrative in its tracks.
Color me skeptical. It was a very convenient save from somewhere, wasn’t it?!
For those who haven’t seen this, here is the letter to Fowler and Germond[at least for me]. It was emotional for me just to read it, because it is a powerful reminder of all we’ve been through over the past year, only to be insulted in such sanctimonious and offensive terms by people like Fowler, Germond and Taylor Marsh:
http://camille424.wordpress.com/2008/07/20/open-letter-to-don-fowler-and-alice-germond-of-the-democratic-national-committee/#comment-79798
bmc — he is still short. He was supposed to raise 100 Mill a month. This 25 Mill was July money. He has done this before — when he didn’t raise enough in June he waits for July’s money to come and and counts it with the June take. This way it looks like tons of money is rolling in.
MOVE ON.org names with an infusion from Soros???
It really is very suspicious….to put it mildly!
Who is looking into the actual source of the June 30th money. Is it a loan to the campaign from Obama from Soros? No wonder they had to hold off the reporting of donations for June until the last moment. They had to wait until the check cleared.
yeah, the bank holds those checks from Syria and Pakistan a little longer I think.
yuh huhn, KNEW IT!! HE was behind BADLY and RAN to Chicago for bernie mac fundraiser and Pritzker emptying pockets to cover his skinny axx!!
KNEW IT!
Uhhbama went to Chicago
he was looking for some dough to steal
and he was in a bind
cause he was waaay behind
so he was willing to make a deal….

Did you see the link on some other thread about mysterious unemployed contributors, one of whom has gone way over her limit, and contributed many many many times in one day.
http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2008/07/obama-who-is-je.html
The woman at Atlas Shrugged is an idiot (a right-wing Taylor Marsh, one could say), but she may be on to something.
I wonder if Cleland might have been more welcome if Tissue Regeneration LLC (or whatever its name is) had donated, or donated more generously, to the campaign. I am too lazy to look up the name of Cleland’s company and if (or how much) it contributed.
rjj-
You raise good point. I too sense that author may be on to something.
I wonder if there is any way that we-regular concerned citizens acting in a journalist capacity can help her out with detailed research? Perhaps she can parcel out the list of contributors to volunteers and we could each get 5 or 10 pages or so and start reviewing and following up on the information in this contribution report. I would be willing to make phone calls from home to try and track down some of these ‘names’ to see if they are legit contributors or if someone is using them as fronts to launder illegal campaign contributions. I will go on website you reference and suggest that she ask for volunteers. It is the LEAST i can do-otherwise I will go mad watching what is happening to our country right now. Other people gave up their lives protecting our country. It would be an honor for me to do this project…
Barack Obama is a phony of the highest order. Anyone who believes he doesn’t take corporate or PAC money is a blind fool. But this incident showing major disrespect for a true patriot, Max Cleland, who is doing good work through his “lobbying” efforts, shows BO’s dearth of judgement. He cannot distinguish between good and bad so he’ll opt for throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Thanks for the cartoon illustrating such a sad excuse for a Democratic presidential candidate.
Shades of George Bush sticking it to Cleland.
Somebody sent me an email about Donna Brazile’s editorial entitled “Note To Clinton Holdouts”. This is presumably in the Olean Times Herald yesterday. I could not find it on their website. If anybody knows where I can find this “note” from Donna, please post it here.
I think this is it
http://preview.tinyurl.com/6d6e3x
Listen up people, Donna is irritated and frustrated like Don and Alice and we better respect Obama:
So let’s pick ourselves up and get back in the game. Respect Obama. Respect the fact that he won, and that no one does it by accident. As much as we all would have loved to see a woman in the Oval Office, it wasn’t Hillary’s time. Period.
The strong-arm, manipulative tactics of the DNC in this primary process were somewhat of an epiphany for me. The “roolz” were bent to promote his candidacy at the expense of someone who has worked long and hard for the party and for the American people. So much for loyalty. Ironic, isn’t it, that the party demands loyalty from the people, but failed to consider it when the rules were applied. Really, how loyal can you expect BHO to be to the party when it has served its purpose? The DNC will join many of Barack’s colleagues under the bus when it suits him.
Max Cleeland under the bus.
especially i like this para-graph
“We do. But her supporters must also respect her enough to listen when Clinton calls for party unity. Without party discipline and unity in expanding the electorate and reaching out to more disaffected and unaligned voters, the road to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. will always detour back to the competitive primary season this spring”
PARTY DISCIPLINE
what is the punishment for those who mis-behave?
audacity — lololol
missE — your not serious are you? Its called an election and its our votes. Donna Brazile doesn’t dictate who we vote for.
Not to worry, just taking a jab at Donna.
missE — Good I was worried.
I thought Donna said they didn’t need our votes, we could stay home, they had a newer shinier voter base???
I’ve never seen anybody use that many words in order to say, “get over it.”
After reading that tripe, I feel dirty. Ugh.
This just perfectly illustrates how shallow and stupid the whole “lobbyists are evil” dogma actually is. Lobbyists represent people. Specifically groups of people who join together to try to enact change through our government. The process works well but not well enough because our elected officials often refuse to change things for the better or they run with ideas that they know are faulty.
The dogma that special interests are evil is also simple and stupid and a meme that republicans and those against change pushed for at least 25 years that I know. Where I am from if you wanted to do something good for others or the environment you got ridiculed and slandered. But who really comprises special interests? It is definitely you and me and everyone else. If you identify with any cause you are a special interest. Teachers and their union is a special interest. Doctors are special interests. Members of the GLBT community, which I am a member, are special interests. Our only avenue to make our lives better is through lobbying. To take lobbyists away is akin to taking away the voice of the people. Right now we only have a few ways of speaking to our representatives. The most powerful is through voting. The second measure is through direct means such as letters, phone calls, etc. (highly dubious effectiveness) and the third is through lobbying which is probably the most effective. I think anyone who doesn’t recognize the value that lobbyists have should rethink their position. And it is downright silly to elect a man to the highest office who wants to insulate our government from the people.
Excellent comment! I thank you for this.
No, thank you for the wonderful diary and excellent cartoon. It was very well done.
gregoryp.- it was an excellent comment and should be repeated. I think Hillary said something similar at a debate. It was when John Edwards was tag teaming her with Obagme…..she defended her position that she worked for the people and not lobbyists but also stated what you said that lobbyists represent people too.

angry michelle — So this is the type of brilliant supporters on the Obama Blog. Cause anyone with half a brain — knows what a fraud Obama is.
Let me get this straight — this loser wants progressives to destroy the kike (whatever that means) to bring lasting peace. You can’t make this chit up.
I went over to Ben Smith’s article at Politico and read the comments. He gets a mix of anti-Obama commenters and overzealous Obamabots. You would not believe the ridiculously callous, ignorant, vile and hateful things some of the Obama supporters are saying about Max Cleland. I do believe that everyday I get more angry and more entrenched in my absolute disdain for Obama and (some) his supporters. No matter what happens I will NEVER vote for Senator Obama. Nothing will ever change my mind.
Here are just two of the disgusting posts from Obama supporters at Politico:
“M.Cleland is no wounded hero; he’s a wounded boob. He blew himself up and endangered his comrades by mis-handling a grenade far from combat”
“Self-inflicted wounds while drunk and or high on pot does not make one a “hero,” it makes one a fool and anyone that believes Max was a hero simply displays their ignorance on how he was hurt - what hero, he doesn’t even qualify for a Veterans Administration Disability Rating because his injuries were NOT in the line of duty.”
The truth is that the grenade that wounded Max came from another soldier’s vest and Max tried to pick it up and secure it so that no one else would be hurt. It is irrelevant that the injury was from “friendly fire.” Max’s injury came 1 month before he was to end his tour of duty in Vietnam. Max Cleland is a hero and more of a courageous man than Obama and some of his supporters could ever hope to be.
Cheeto overload. Takes a couple of months to detoxify. A bit less if they leave the basement and get a job.
OhVoter — Obama and his people are showing their true colors and they ain’t Red White and Blue. I am voting for John McCain this year. It will be my first Republican vote. But I trust this man with my country. He is a war hero who spent 5 years in a POW camp and even when they were ready to release him he would not leave his men. I may not agree with McCain on the issues however I know that Democracy is safe in his hands.
Obama will appear on stage with McCain to non-debate forum. This guy is afraid of questions and debates. He wants only puff pieces and rallies. How long is they going to let him get away with this. Hes hiding, ducking, bobbing and weaving. We understand he not the smartest candidate or the most qualified, but hes pretending to be president why not debate McCain and pretend to answer questions
fred — Obama knows he’s an empty suit and that if you put him up against anyone he fails. He’s afraid to lose.
Jeez, this is unreal!! Wonder what Wes Clark is thinking????!!
So, I’m off to my musings…

There are a few to choose from!!
Wes is under that bus gladly making room for his friend Max.
First of all, it is so easy to be called a lobbyist in this area (D.C.) and not all lobbyists have horns growing out of their heads, as Max Cleland is an example of one such “lobbyist”. Federal laws aimed at combating corrupt lobbyists have now forced so many people to register as such even when do not nearly fit the mold of the Jack Abramhoff types. Hell, at my job, if we donate over $200 to a campaign, we have to disclose that information and I think it’s awfully intrusive, but that’s the law.
Bottom line is, Obama is a fool and so are his supporters.
I mean that Max Cleland does not have horns growing out of his head. lol Just to clarify.
Pat, you really know how to make a point with your cartoons and your commentaries.
This shows that Obama can only think in black and white or all or nothing, like all lobbyist are bad and all corporate CEOs are good, which is very simplistic thinking.
It again gives a very mixed message since Max Cleland I believe was and maybe still is a Hillary supporter. The message being let Hillary and Obama people unit and when Hillary people try to they get the rug pulled out from under them or get thrown under the bus as you showed in a previous cartoon.
Rich
rich Max Cleland on stage with Obama would show the people that Cleland served his country and Obama did not. Obama can’t take the comparison.
Terrorists to provide security for Obama during his trip to the West Bank.
I’m with you ohvoter! Senator Cleland seems like such a nice guy! He has a great sense of humor and campaigned hard for Gore and other dems. I remember some of the comments by repubs (some) about his injuries…repugnant. I guess the chosen “O” wants to pile on now! Disgusting! Max is a hero!
In fairness to the changeling candidate and his handlers, I believe the writer of this article intentionally withheld critical information that will justify why Vietnam war hero and ex-Sen. Max Cleland was dis-invited: He is not a bundler! Ergo, he is of no service to a money-hungry campaign team. They only raised US$52M in June and they need more, more, more specially with Obama’s lead in opinion polls evaporating in the summer heat! Another reason to say: B.O.W.L.+ Big Time In November!
+Barack Obama Will Lose
Remember the 527’s attacked Max as not a war hero.
This is as bad at it can get. He lost the election.
OB doesn’t want losers around him (he loves Kerry’s endorsement, but do you see them together?).
Lobbyists were the funding tool of Ob’s Congressional Race (he lost), his race for State Senate (remember they only meet for 55 days a year in Illiois, that’s where Ob got all his “Knowledge”).
And individual members of lobbying firms are big bundlers for Ob in his US Senate race and his current race for the White House. Major corporation big bosses are his biggest contributors.
As for not debating McCain in Town Hall meetings, this I don’t understand. Ob should be able to clean the floor with McCain. The youth vs. the old.
What’s wrong with him? Can’t he think on his feet without a script, or does he forget where he currently stands on an issue since he changes his positions on most major issues. FISA, our constitutional attorney candidate was going to filibuster this on the floor when he had Hillary to fight, but then he votes to throw away the 4th Amendment. Max should not give OB the pleasure of his company.
Another aspect of the tragedy of throwing Max Cleland under the bus is that Senator Cleland represented the issues and positions that would have made the Democratic party a winner for the next 20 years.
Senator Cleland is a strong supporter of veterans, homeland security (despite that false attack ad that the GOP ran against him), and a strong military that is used with wisdom.
Had the Democratic party embraced the positions of Senator Cleland coupled with their middle-class oriented economic policies, they would have been the majority party for years to come. Of course, that would have meant nominating Senator Clinton who did represent those positions.
That is the political side to this tragedy. The human side is that Senator Max Cleland is a remarkable human being and an American patriot.
The Obama campaign makes a very big issue of not taking money directly from “FEDERAL lobbyists”….but he’s happy to take money directly from their clients and employees, and from state and local lobbyist, family members of lobbyists and PACs. He has no problem with lobbyist working for him.
Obama had no problem with lobbyist Rezko giving him campaign donations and helping him with real estate deals.
Obama’s biggest single source of corporate money, over $160,000, came from executives at Exelon Corp., the nation’s largest nuclear power provider, and its subsidiary, Commonwealth Edison, an Illinois utility. This includes checks from lobbyists John P. Novak and James Monk. In Springfield, Novak represents Exelon., and Monk is president of the Illinois Energy Assn., a trade group that represents Commonwealth Electric.
Prior to his presidential campaign, Sen. Obama accepted contributions from lobbyists and PACs. In his 2004 Senate race, Sen. Obama raised $1.3 million from PACs and $128,000 from lobbyists. As a state senator, over half of Sen. Obama’s contributions came from PACs, corporate contributions, or unions.
Obama opposes House-passed 1872 Mining Act reform bill. In November 2007, Obama pandered to the mining industry by coming out AGAINST a crucial reform bill the House passed that would have updated the notorious “General Mining Law of 1872.” Could Obama’s stance have been influenced by Billy Vassiliadis, a longtime Nevada power broker, mining lobbyist, and member of Obama’s Nevada campaign steering committee?

Service members should be respected and Cleland has made other important contributions as well.
Obama just says “show me da money”….
I think the Cleland incident can be nicely juxtaposed with his sloganeering:

http://www.donkeydish.com/images/gallery/judgment-to-lead.jpg
It is an excellent demonstration of his judgment.
Keeping Cleland away is a Bush tatic.
Just more proof to myself that Obama and Bush are soulmates.
Except I pretty much have expected Bush to do the things he’s done…I just never thought we would let another asshole roll all over us like he’s the king of the universe. And the Oblivator is worse than Bush.
Calgon, take me away!!!!
I can only imagine what most Vets feel about the Obama campaign’s slight or gaffe or whatever it was in disrespecting Max Cleland. My own husband thought it was disgusting as did Democrats when Cleland came under attack by the Republican opposition. As I remember they [Republicans] tried to question Cleland’s military duty [please, the man is short 3 limbs].
A short skip and jump then to question the man’s ethics.
But none of that seems to matter. The Obama folks are writing a “brand new script,” one in which they’ll throw anyone and everyone under the bus.
And if we’re talking hope and change, I don’t think you could get any closer than tissue regeneration–this is cutting edge technology and for wounded Vets and other seriously injured patients offers “true” promise. In fact, it’s a case where the pixie dust is “real.”
Maybe it’s the “real” part Obamatrons don’t get because they sure do love their own pixie dust fantasies.
Incredible!

I wonder which saying is true — There’s A Sucker Born Every Minute — or You can’t Fool All The People All The Time. I guess I will have to wait until November to find out.
Does StupObama just not get it, since he was never in military service and has no clue about how extraordinarily significant Max Cleland’s service to veterans has been over the years? Or does his equally stupid staff use some wierd criterion for weeding out people for some techincal but insignificant reason? At any rate, Pat, your cartoon depiction of Mr. MachObama lording in over a wheelchair bound triple amputee hero to veterans of military service helps document the poor judgement and limited capabilities of the ObamMessiah who is just what we DON”T NEED in the white house. Maybe, like his pullback from giving a speech at the Brandengerg Gate, he will see the error of his ways, after being hit over the head with a hammer, and reinvite Max Cleland. After all, Mr. Hope and Change can surely come up with an excuse for this unsightly oversight and pass it off as a staff error he had no knowledge of.
Obama says he will not have anything to do with lobbyists. But does anyone with more than a handful of frontal cortex cells believe that dumping lobbyists will bring an end to influence peddling in Washington? Never mind that “Mr. Hope and Change” enlisted James A. Athy–Good comment! Lots of info there.
Obama and the New democratic party are not democratic.
They have no respect for America or the people who love and defend America.
They will hurt America before they would help America or her people.
His followers have never had a rough day in their lives and would not know how to handle one.
They can not conceive sacrifice for their familes or their county.
They just do not understand that concept.
Most of them were born under a one way sign.

How much has AXELROD made from “lobbying-related activities” while not being a “registered lobbyist” we wonder?
The press has covered it, but weakly. Afraid of being booted out of steerage on that fancily painted campaign plane, I guess.

Change you can believe in from Iraq to Afghanistan, more deployments and more money for our debt, when Obama cant win on the talks of Iraq lets shift to Afghanistan, were he knows less.. , but panders a good speech as if he won a debate, but here comes the questions , How long will we be in Afghanistan?
Policies, lets talk about polices, and speeches. Time and time again he has shown his true color on conviction and his integrity. Speeches that he so elegantly talk about , is not the endorcement of his true belief, we see that in the votes that he supported, that he so elegantly addressed he would filabuster or not endorce. Time and time agrain I addressed the issue of him being to liberal, and time and time again they compare McCain on being more like Bush, but have we really studied his voting record in the what 3 years of being in the senate? He votes alot like a Republican if u look and see how many bills are addressed and passed by Republicans, and the bills he did not vote on , the man is not a leader but a follower, he lacks the integrity that McCain and Clinton stands for, they stand by what they have a conviction and speak about. As for a puppet yes , on one of his economic speeches , knowing he and McCain know just about the same, but McCain is man enough to say it,hes weak on the economy , Obama spoke eleqantly someone elses, words, this is unlike Obama to have a fluent speech on technics of a fluent economist, in laymans terms once again probaley borrowed a speech from Clintons plan. Lets just face it he spoke about Change and beat up Clinton for her plans on the economy and
her plans for the nation, that he is now borrowing Clintons economic plans, but we all know that this is her strong point and his weekness. His weekness to be prsident is apparent when you can see throuh his speeches and determine his pander. Durin his tour in Europe , i do not see strength I see a man who has been crippled by wanting to be everyone but himself from JFK rfk mlk and Reagan, the true Obama a liberal who is one sided and does not vote with the conviction to stand on issues that will help the poor, middleclass , single mothers, homeowners , laws that will help those affected by crime, and yes his own district in Chicago, time and time again his votes did not help those that needed it , but those who can contribute to his campaign, which we all know now that they were radical terrorist muslim groups, racist views of Ayers Wright and Farahkhan, you are who you surround yourself with 20yrs of friendship, , thats family. Im a democrat vote democrat , and those who question im a republican are fools, i have a voting record, just like Obama , but i vote on integrity, character, and policies. This man lacks it all. Lets talk about overseas deployments , the e the promise of ending the Iraq war, well wake up im from a military family who husbands has done tours in Iraq, and now we know there is no end to deployment or a break of peace the war will continue along with deployments to Afghanistan, as with Bush we will continue to fight two wars just fewer men in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan will be a war of lives lost more in Iraq due to the layout of the Democratic plan opened up for the media, we are as military families preparing for longer rotations in Afghanistan . McCain has been honest to say we are at war for our freedom to live without fear from those who look to place fear in our as American movement abroad. A speech will not demand the respect that we have so long fought for. A true leader is a man or woman who will not pander and tell you that we have two fights and promising to end one is not a promise for peace and stability at home, Obama is promising something he can not deliver, to our American families , that
regardless if he is in office, our men , woman, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers will continue to see the deployments and their rotations as we do now here at Ft Hood, where we do both already, shifting a war does not make u a winner, if your promising the same as Bush and McCain, we will follow a man who has service, integrity , character, and experience before we follow a liberal who is a pide pipper of speeches that he does not believe in, the American people first before who can better your campaign, view his record in Chicago and in the 3 years in the Senate, which a 1 1/2 running for president. Lets judge on his record and integrity to tell the truth when it comes to his acquaintances, the polls show more and more Americans do not trust him with the safety of our country , our economy is a mess but remember just because he surrounds himself with Wallstreet the President has little say, as we all know, Bush is better liked then Pelosi and congress or senate all were late to the party all failed , Pelosi should have included herself as a failure to the American people .
sorry this got away from me The American people first before party and self McCain and Clinton with their work has proven this , and Obama has not…..
I am a Democrat lets not vote for speeches, lets vote on their wisdom and experience and their work… Just say NODEAL, and Im proud of my Countr
Another special cartoon.
What a disgrace. Max is a friend of mine. He’s a good soul who was grotesquely smeared by sleazeball Republicans during his reelection bid, then discarded and dissed by Democrats. I guess that charming legacy continues. Horrible and shameful.
