Yeah, the new Chicago-style DNC will invent 7 new states for BO and recognize only 43 states for McCain (a la MI & FL) in the upcoming GE.

This must be the new electoral map we've all been hearing about in the media--Obama's new 57/43-State Strategy!

Same with me. I am waiting for the dog and pony show in Denver. Once I see how things play out at the convention, I will make my decision. Actually, I think I have made my decision already. I will leave the Democratic Party this year, either immediately after the convention, or after the general election since I don't want to jeopardize voting against Obama in November.

If Hillary somehow gains the nomination, then it's off to the races. Hillary all the way!

The real story is in the electoral college. A current analysis (done by NPR no less) shows McCain with a commanding lead over Obama in likely electoral votes. Obama has an uphill battle at the very time when his popularity should be at its peak. Instead, he's well behind and his campaign is collapsing, particularly with regard to fund raising.

What you are going to see, as the republican machine starts up at the end of august, is McCain pulling well ahead. McCain is only now uniting the GOP behind him, even clinching the crucial religious conservative vote (something that would have been thought unlikely a few months ago) with key endorsements coming out soon. It's because of Obama. Conservatives are demoralized over the Bush administrations failure to adhere to the conservative agenda (to disastrous effect I might add) but they know just how bad Obama is and are getting behind McCain simply to prevent the democrats from destroying our country.

The real problem here (for the dems I mean) is if the conservatives manage to convince McCain to be a strong conservative candidate. If that happens, the nation will prosper under two terms of republican leadership. If that happens, the dems might not recover for 10 to 20 years.

What a pathetic squandering of opportunity the whole Obama campaign has been. The kindest thing I can say about it is, maybe, FINALLY, the dems will get serious about reform....and purge itself of the radical elements.

I know. McCain is so ignorant (must be his age) that he doesn't even know those seven states exist.

Thanks for your concern, Ted. It's just too bad that Obama threw universal health care under the bus. It would be so much easier to treat our negativity if he hadn't done that.

Thanks. I really needed a laugh! And it is reassuring to know that I am not the only person who has had this thought. Good thing they sit behind desks!
The fact that the poll shows that the public thinks the media is promoting Obama could really backfire on him. Thank God people are finally waking up. I hope they are also starting to realize that they sold Bush in 2000.
