“Obama Love”

ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign today released its latest web video entitled “Obama Love.” The video highlights the media’s love affair with Barack Obama — or as MSNBC’s Chris Matthews says, that “thrill going up my leg.”

CAVEAT: No Quarter does NOT endorse Sen. McCain. But, do I ever agree with this video’s depiction of the media treatment of Obama.

McCain’s campaign invites you to “Vote For Your Favorite Love Song For “Obama Love.”

honestly the mccain campaign and the GOP groups are doing a better job with the anti-obama videos than the PUMAs and Dem groups are. their videos are just crafted better. the one dem set of videos that are pretty good is the “tell obama he can keep the change” campaign.

MORE WONDERFUL DEMONS I MEAN DEMS,,,ARE THEY ALL ADULTERS?
SEN. JOHN EDWARDS CAUGHT WITH MISTRESS AND LOVE CHILD!
Vice Presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards was caught visiting his mistress and secret love child at 2:40 this morning in a Los Angeles hotel by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.

The married ex-senator from North Carolina – whose wife Elizabeth continues to battle cancer — met with his mistress, blonde divorcee Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton on Monday night July 21 – and the NATIONAL ENQUIRER was there! He didn’t leave until early the next morning.

Rielle had driven to Los Angeles from Santa Barbara with a male friend for the rendezvous with Edwards. The former senator attended a press event Monday afternoon with L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on the topic of how to combat homelessness.

But a months-long NATIONAL ENQUIRER investigation had yielded information that Rielle and Edwards, 54, had arranged to secretly meet afterward and for the ex-senator to spend some time with both his mistress and the love child who he refuses to publicly acknowledge as his own.

The NATIONAL ENQUIRER broke the story of Edwards’ love child scandal last year, when Rielle was still pregnant and Edwards was still considered a strong candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Both parties denied the NATIONAL ENQUIRER report and a close friend of Edwards’ came forward and said he was the father of Rielle’s baby. But sources told the NATIONAL ENQUIRER a far different story – they revealed that Edwards was engineering a massive cover up of his shocking infidelity.

Sources came forward after that story appeared and told The NATIONAL ENQUIRER that Edwards and Rielle had met secretly several times, so that he could see his baby and continue his relationship with Rielle.
The NATIONAL ENQUIRER learned that one such meeting was set for yesterday and observed the secret meeting.
At 9:45 p.m. (PST) Monday Edwards appeared at the hotel, and was dropped off at a side entrance. NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporter Alan Butterfield witnessed the ex-senator get out of a BMW driven by a male companion and stroll into the hotel.
Said Butterfield: “Edwards was not carrying anything. He walked in alone. He was wearing a blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He was looking around nervously before he entered the hotel.

“Once inside, he interestingly bypassed the lobby and ducked down a side stairs to go to the bottom floor to catch the elevator up – rather than taking the elevator in the main lobby. He went out of his way not to be seen.”
Meanwhile, Reille had reserved rooms 246 and 252 under the name of the friend who had accompanied her from Santa Barbara, Bob McGovern. Reille was in one room and McGovern was in another with her baby. This allowed her and Edwards to spend time alone, a source revealed.

Edwards went out of the hotel briefly with Reille, was observed by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER and then went back to her room, where he stayed until attempting to sneak out of the hotel unseen at 2:40 a.m. (PST). But when he emerged alone from an elevator into the hotel basement he was greeted by several reporters from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.

Senior NATIONAL ENQUIRER Reporter Alexander Hitchen asked Edwards why he was visiting Rielle and whether he was ready to confirm that he was the father of her baby.
Shocked to see a reporter, and without saying anything, Edwards ran up the stairs leading from the hotel basement to the lobby. But, spotting a photographer, he doubled back into the basement. As he emerged from the stairwell, reporter Butterfield asked questioned him about his hookup with Reille.

Edwards did not answer and then ran into a nearby restroom. He stayed inside for about 15 minutes, refusing to answer questions from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER about what he was doing in the hotel. A group of hotel security men eventually escorted him from the men’s room, while preventing the NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporters from following him out of the hotel.

Said reporter Hitchen: “After we confronted him about seeing Rielle, Edwards looked like a deer caught in headlights!

“He was clearly surprised that we had caught him at this very late hour inside the hotel.

\ “Some guests up at this late hour watched the spectacle in amusement from a staircase nearby.”

Meanwhile, Rielle’s friend McGovern also refused to answer any questions from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER or offer any explanation for her meeting with Edwards.
The Edwards “love child” scandal drew international press attention after the NATIONAL ENQUIRER published a blockbuster investigation about the politician in our Dec. 31, 2007 print edition.
We reported that Rielle, a woman linked to Edwards in a cheating scandal earlier last year, was more than six months pregnant – and we reported that she told a close confidante that Edwards was the father of her baby!
Edwards denied the affair and that he was the father, and in a bizarre twist, a close friend of his, Alexander Young, said he was the father. Young, 41, was married at the time with three children. The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has learned he still is married.
Sources told the NATIONAL ENQUIRER exclusively that Edwards had engineered a massive cover up of the affair and love child scandal and that Young was taking the blame for his good friend. At the time Rielle had been relocated from the New York area to Chapel Hill in Edwards’ home state of North Carolina, where she was living in an upscale gated community down the street from Young. Strangely, Young even had Rielle to his house for dinner with his wife and kids, the NATIONAL ENQUIRER has learned.

Young has been extremely close to Edwards for years and was a key official in his presidential campaign.

Rielle is a self-described filmmaker whose company was hired by a pro-Edwards group called One America Committee. She was paid $114,000 to produce videos for Edwards’ campaign and worked with him on those videos.
Reporters from other media outlets asked Edwards about The NATIONAL ENQUIRER report during a campaign stop in Columbia, S.C.
Edwards responded: “The story is false. It’s completely untrue, ridiculous,” adding: “Anyone who knows me knows that I have been in love with the same woman for 30-plus years.”
Rielle issued her own statement, saying in part: “The innuendos and lies that have appeared on the Internet and in the NATIONAL ENQUIRER concerning John Edwards are not true, completely unfounded and ridiculous.”
But a source told the NATIONAL ENQUIRER: “Now that it seems to have blown wide open, Rielle may get her wish – all she wants is for John to marry her and for them to live happily ever after with their baby. She’s tired of running and living a lie.”

A representative for Reille had no comment on last night’s meeting with Edwards

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-07-22 16:20:50

I knew that’s why Edwards dropped out. And if anyone payed attention to his drop out speech in New Orleans where Elizabeth and Kate stood behind him and Elizabeth would not look at her husband.
I knew it.

he always gave me the eebie jeebies. never took to him like so many other ds in my state.

but this, now this is funny. sneaking up a stair well and then hiding in the men’s restroom. all the while guests from the hotel sat in the stair well witnessing the spectacle.

he’s finished with thank goodness!

maybe now Elizabeth can be true to herself and endorse Hillary’s nomination at the convention. now that would be sweet! nothing like a woman scorned; especially in such a public way.

Ana Marie Cox, the original Wonkette, is no Obama fan. Writing over at Time now, after laying out Obama’s double talk on the surge, she had an incisive comment:

http://www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/07/obama_explains_it_all.html

[this is the quote she was commenting on]

“Here is what I will say,” Obama said, “I think that, I did not anticipate, and I think that this is a fair characterization, the convergence of not only the surge but the Sunni awakening in which a whole host of Sunni tribal leaders decided that they had had enough with Al Qaeda, in the Shii’a community the militias standing down to some degrees. So what you had is a combination of political factors inside of Iraq that then came right at the same time as terrific work by our troops. Had those political factors not occurred, I think that my assessment would have been correct.”

[snip]

“Well, you were saying that it would not make a significant dent in the violence,” Moran said.

“In the violence in Iraq overall, right,” Obama acknowledged. “So the point that I was making at the time was that the political dynamic was the driving force between that sectarian violence. And we could try to keep a lid on it, but if these underlining dynamic continued to bubble up and explode the way they were, then we would be in a difficult situation. I am glad that in fact those political dynamic shifted at the same time that our troops did outstanding work.”

Ms. Cox’s response:

So… it’s not that the surge was successful, it’s just that violence decreased and the political dynamic became more manageable. Sure.

Of course, what the relative success of the surge (or whatever) really means is that Obama won’t have to talk about Iraq pretty much ever again. McCain has often said he’d rather “lose an election than lose a war,” but I don’t think he thought he’d be on the winning side of a war and lose the election anyway.

Comment by Martin | 2008-07-22 16:19:25

Ms. Cox is still, like so many Obama neophytes, still speaking out of the side of her mouth when “critical” of the Anointed One!

Can’t they just admit Obama was wholey WRONG on the surge, refuses to agmit it, and now is headed for DISTASTROUS LOSS in November???

The “audacity of hope” for this charlatan’s election is just becoming plain ol’ audacity…and America is just getting more sick of it day by day!

Comment by Kate | 2008-07-22 16:23:58

Obama sure has backhanded it to our troops. The sheer arrgogance to not only suggest but assert that our brave and determined guys had little or nothing to do with the success that is now Iraq. Oh I know, we are not supposed to call it a success just yet but c’mon, our guys have pulled it off. BECAUSE of the tenacity and bravery of our guys the rest of the country has calmed down. It would not have happened by itself as Obama would have it. This insult to our guys is just way over the top. He’ll say anything, insult the country, appease every Eurofool on the continent but he goes way too far when he says that our guys were just standing by while “political forces ” changed the war. What the hell does he think drove those political forces…one of his sickening speeches??? NO NO It was our hardworking resilliant, smart, courageous guys on the ground walking the streets putting themselves at risk again and again and doing everything they can to keep the peace and security for everyone. The political sitiuation has changed ONLY because they were there.
The truth is that the far left is the only group left that will unquestioningly follow Obama. He has lost so many of us and now has to play it all up for the far left and the DNC. That bunch never did anything BUT insult our troops. Hillary would NEVER have insulted our troops. She would support them to the hilt and still have them out of there with honor at the first opportunity. Why? Because everybody on the ground in the entire Middle-East would know that in the first place she is nobody’s fool, she actually knows what she is talking about, she means what she says and has the toughness needed to see it all through. Hillary 2012

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-07-22 17:20:02

Kate, you are ABSOLUTELY right – Hillary has been fighting for our troops, and our veterans, not dissing them…

2. He is a very powerful, convincing speechmaker. AND? How does that make him a good leader. Not to mention now we all know that half his motivational speeches were written for Deval Patrick.

3. Fellow World Leaders respect him. RESPECT WHAT? His media image? He is a junior senator with no experience and no record who can’t even unite his own party.

4. Our “enemies” think they may be able to work with him. Again, NO SUBSTANCE. He is an image, they have no idea whether they can “work” with him.

5. FAUX news currently hates him. Because the other networks have failed to be objective in any way. And that’s why millions of Dems are now watching FOX news.

Obama is making an absolute fool of himself in Europe, this whole self indulgent trip will backfire. Stop wasting your time here and go campaign for him in Ohio.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-07-22 17:15:35

I’d give him a “D” for his oratory skills.

The words are not his — he is merely reading a speeching — the speech is not from his heart.

He is like a guy who is practicing to be a tent preacher guy — who is just copying someone else.

BOBO is not original, he copies and mimics other’s work.

3. Disagree. There is no reason for a world leader to respect a compulsive liar who has never accomplished anything.

McCain said he would rather lose an election but win the war, not like Obama, he’s all about self-promotion.

At this point, the DNC is trying to prevent Hillary’s name from being thrown into nomination at the convention. This is not the same as the traditional roll call. Most PUMA’s have made it clear that until this has been rectified, they are prepared to vote for John McCain, because (1) they see him as the more trustworthy candidate and responsible choice (2) they refuse to reward the DNC and their selected nominee for unethical behavior during the primaries and on. (3) Hillary can possibly run again in 2012.

can’t you see its the lunatics running the asylum here, and we are damn crazy too, all because of the thought of that clown Barack Obama getting too close to the Presidency of These United States with the help of the crooked Chicago machniery and a complicit press.

One thing I will say though, my elderly fellow Americans see through this clown with X-ray vision, and they notice the press is in bed with him too. My Middle aged fellow Americans, notice this too. The young ones, well, they can turn easily back to being our spoiled docile kids, especially when they see their parents and grandparents are truly worried about what is going to happen if this clown gets elected. Money out of our pockets is money out of theirs.

We said “Thank You Hillary, we’ll take it from here”. And now our mission is to take Obama down to the mat so hard, he’ll never be able to stand for office outside of Chicago for the rest of his life. Hillary won’t need to get her hands dirty, she has gotten right back to work in the Senate, looking out for our rights, which is more than we can say for Barack Hussein Obama II

naw, his leg, referred to the singular, was his so-called manhood whizzing down his pant leg. dress right, dress left, which side no matter here. Or maybe he was referring to a third appendage, sometimes referred to as “leg” during bragging. maybe that was the appendage that was really tingling.

Chris Matthews has thrown many years as a successful and respected journalist down the tubes for and all he got for it was his wet pants.

Oh my God, the irony is just too much! I was watching CNN just now and Blitzer was discussing this ad with guests and asking if the media was in the tank for Obama (not his exact words). The guests both said no, not really. And then in the middle of one of his guests speaking about this ad, CNN broke in mid-sentence with breaking news — all the dramatic music and Breaking News logos. It was Obama arriving in Israel and his short statement to the media. BREAKING NEWS that Obama landed in Israel — breaking into a discussion of whether the media is in LOVE with Barack Obama. It was too funny!

Comment by TeaMug | 2008-07-22 16:03:32

Thats interesting because I knew Obama landed, well over and hour ago or more. I read it on an Israel Newspaper, online.

CNN are really slow or they planned to add that into the middle of the discussion!!

“No, no, I don’t, do YOU?”

“Absolutely not.”

I don’t watch any of them–it’s all a joke.

Comment by Susan Nunes | 2008-07-22 15:59:55

It’s a good video, but quite honestly once Obama is the official Democratic nominee, you will see the media do a 180 in support of the person they truly love, and that’s John McCain.

The McCain campaign is being too impatient with its suitors.

Re: Obama’s two soft ribs:

The first is his “military and security soft rib.” Compared with a Vietnam War veteran, John McCain, Obama is only a “rock star” with a ready tongue, who does not possess the competence and experience for the post of the US commander-in-chief. Obama has never been to Afghanistan and did not visit Iraq over recent years and so he does not know much about the situation on battlefields and his troop withdrawal proposal. He can only indulge in empty talk at home but does not go to heed opinions of US servicemen and officers at battlefields. So, it is a matter of urgency for him to have an “interning” in the military and security realm

Comment by mahaska | 2008-07-22 18:11:34

They are an absolute disgrace to the institute of journalism. They are not journalists—they are Obama groupies. America is in real trouble with Obama possibly being president, Nancy Pelosi leading the House of Representatives and news commentators who obviously have an orgasm when they speak of Obama. You know, Lou, I have this adolescent hope that you are right, but I also have this adult cynicism that says we are looking at the Dems nominee. Too much money and ego on the line for anyone to admit they’ve been wrong, completely off the mark, and/or have missed the opportunity to nominate and elect the superior candidate, HRC. I welcome the opportunity to be proven wrong. But I fear that I won’t be.

And so, my recourse is to do everything I can to make sure this inept, candidate on crutches, mainstream media darling, presumptive nominee is “not” elected. There’s too much at risk. I have children. I want them to have a future marked by true opportunity and growth, not empty, false words.

Country before Party. Reason before ideology.

But I will apologize if you prove to be right. I’ll come out with pom-poms :0).

Maybe it’s just the word Conservative anything that gives them a problem?

Looks like Bill was the original candidate for change. Pay attention starting at about 31. Then again for the end. Where he says the Crusade for Change. Lot of older videos on this page at the right I was listening too. You can find quite a few older debates on Youtube. I also found some older debates on Keyes website. The Corporate owned media loves Obama.

There was a time – in place far, far, away, – that this kind of approval by the Corporate media made liberals and progressives suspicious.

Now that the Corporate powers-that-be love Obama all is good.

A vote for FISA is a vote to allow Corporate America off the hook. Obama voted in favor of Corporate America. But so-called liberals/progressives don’t seem to be bothered by that. Because, according to them, Obama didn’t really mean it. If he didn’t meant it why did he vote the way he did? Was he lying then or is he lying now?

This video is funny. It is about time someone in the McCain campaign woke up and did something useful. Sheesh!

The first President I can remember is Ronald Reagan. Thank God I wasn’t old enough to remember Jimmy Carter. I loved Ronald Reagan and it is because of him that I still remain a Republican. He is the standard bearer for my party. Each person running for President on our ticket tries to emulate him in some fashion or attach his name. It is impossible.

What I find incredible about Obama and others in the Democrat party is how they do not see Bill Clinton as the standard bearer for the party. Why not try to emulate or uphold his ideals and principles. Obviously, he knows what worked and what didn’t as he was elected twice. No other Democrat can say that.

Bill Clinton drove me nuts because he was all things to all people. Yet, he managed to do the right thing. (Yes, I’m grudgingly saying this now.)

If Barack is trying to emulate that part of Bill’s personality or persona, he’s doing a piss poor job of it.

Bill was probably born a charmer. Barack is faking the funk.

Comment by RepublicanChick | 2008-07-22 17:37:31

No other Democrat alive can say that in terms of being elected twice to the Presidency.

Comment by d2d | 2008-07-22 18:11:28

the reagan/carter election was the first time I voted. the writing was on the wall then that a vote for reagan would bring the hostages home from iran. my vote then at the age of 18 was for country before party then.

i’ve never regretted that vote; however, i was a d in my momma’s belly and have remained an active party d since. i’ve voted from time to time for some down ticket r’s but haven’t voted for an r for the POTUS since that first vote.

this election, w/o question i will again vote country before party IF Hillary does not become our nominee. like many on this blog, i believe she has a 50/50 shot and i too have joined in on the PUMA movement to put pressure on the yahoos running the dnc.

yet, if BO is the d nominee I will proudly put an X by McCain’s name. i’ll take comfort in knowing the d’s remain in control of congress and hopefully do the job they were elected to do and keep McCain, as well as Hillar if she were to be our nominee.

if bo is it, well I’m seriously thinking about leaving the country and becoming an expatriot. he will destroy the very fabric that makes this nation great and I want no part of it. nor do i want to witness it from within the country, rather, i’d feel safer outside.

My vote for John McCain in November will be a protest vote. I would prefer to vote Democrat, but other than local races, I won’t even support my Democratic Congressman or the Democrat running for U.S. Senate. As for Ronald Reagan – take a look what’s happening to the airline industry with the cracks in the fuselages and failing electrical systems. That’s the chickens coming home to roost from Reagan’s presidency and throwing regulatory laws out the window. I would read up on Ronald Reagan’s presidency if I were you RepublicanChick, because he wasn’t the great president so many people say he was. I was a union member at the time and our union dropped from 1 1/4 million members to 600,000 members all because of deregulation and importing unemployment and exporting jobs. Whole cities in PA and OH and WV became ghost towns as steel mills shut down. I’d rather have a Jimmy Carter than a Ronald Reagan any day. Just my opinion.

Comment by RepublicanChick | 2008-07-22 20:09:57

Linda K:

Thank you for your thoughts. I will have to disagree with you regarding Reagan, but I believe it has more to do with our experiences during those times.

My family is military and while my Dad did not serve (his eyesight is terrible) a lot of my family continues to serve today. To many family members, Reagan restored the military of today.

As for McCain, my vote is to keep Obama out of the White House. That is my main concern otherwise I wouldn’t vote for McCain.

These people are all acting as if he’s already won the presidency. Don’t they know that after this p.r. trip and after the convention if he gets that far there will be a total turnaround.
