i’d rather cocktail with riverdaughter than taylor marsh, anyway!

A guest post by hireheels of hireheels.com and JustSayNoDeal.

Just how many times must HireHeels sharpen its stilettos this week?!? Rumor has it that Hillarista-turned-Obamanista blogger Taylor Marsh is talkin’ some trash about PUMA chicks. Blame it on too many Sex and the City episodes, but I pride myself in being a real girl’s girl. Sure I like mud, but only when it’s from the dead sea and being applied to my bod in a Caribbean spa. Slinging it at former galpals and other accomplished women feels kinda Pelosi-esque and most certainly McCaskillian. What have we PUMAs done to Taylor & Company, other than speak up for what we believe? Why must they resort to character assassination on mere supporters??Clearly these ‘mean girls’ have taken a page straight out of the Obama playbook. princess_wears_prada_thumb.jpgIf so, why? HireHeels didn’t ask the fleeing ex-Marshians to join the land of PUMA. They ran to us when they realized they could not support Ms. Marsh’s knee-jerk shift to, well, the jerk. And what they found was a sassy, safe haven where they could continue to support Senator Hillary Clinton and exercise their freedom of ‘choice’ for the remainder of this election.Apparently that position is not respected at Taylor Marsh. Funny, I don’t ever recall criticizing former Hillary supporters who chose to throw their support behind Senator Obama and fall in line with the Democratic Party. That is their prerogative and ours is ours. But hireheels gals know full well that principles don’t simply fall in line. Values don’t fall in line. Conviction doesn’t fall in line. People fall in line. Indeed, PUMAs start the line…and that line is snaking all around the blogosphere as it continues to welcome Marshians, Obamabots and any other creature alienated by Obamanation.A few months ago I called and emailed Ms. Marsh to invite her to appear at an event HireHeels was planning in Philadelphia during the Pennsylvania Primary. As one of her biggest admirers, I wanted to headline and promote her appearance at a cocktail party called “Hilladarity” for gathered pro-Hillary bloggers.I offered my P.R. services to further promote her show, because I knew how many women would have cherished the opportunity to dish with her “live.” I did not take it personally that she didn’t return my communications. Two months later, Just Say No Deal boasts well over 200 pro-Hillary sites and has created its own haven within a vitriolic blogosphere. Our media coverage has been so continuous and extensive, it has overwhelmed our modest volunteer organization. We are resonating with millions of disaffected voters and Senator Obama struggles to remain in a statistical tie with John McCain in many recent polls.Don’t blame PUMA for having the insight to sense the troubling signs within the Democratic Party. We didn’t fracture the party. We’re simply revealing its fault lines.I hope Taylor Marsh will let me buy her that drink one day. But ‘til then, my blog diva of choice is RiverDaughter, the ever-eloquent PUMA who blogs true to her convictions regardless of the backlash. I’ll be joining other PUMAs this Thurday eve at her virtual cocktail party. She’ll be serving up “Causmos” (for a $10 donation to HRC) and her usual sageness. No doubt we’ll all be a bit more shaken and stirred on the way home.

Me too. Who wants a has been beauty queen past her prime like Taylor who now prostitutes herself for whoever pays her bills at her website?

Comment by onmomnaturesside | 2008-07-23 19:48:42

Given that one of the “tools” of obamination is threats w/arm twisting, perhaps that is part of the reason seemingly rational people switch over so willingly. As his royal highness said today, he will use big sticks and big carrots.
He’ll buy them off and if that doesn’t work…then he will use really big sticks.
I think that may also apply to anyone who doesn’t
“fall in line” too.
Sad state we are in. Sad.

Comment by princess wears prada | 2008-07-23 20:41:32

isn’t that what the obama camp has done all along - if they cannot purchase you, they eliminate you!

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-23 22:51:45

We don’t really know what TM believes, but just accept her word at face value that she supports Obama as the nominee. She doesn’t have to get so nasty about it, though. I’ve never wanted to go to her site and have never been. Sounds boring.

Comment by beebop | 2008-07-24 05:21:29

Gee … and she crossed the road to support Barry. One more reason to hold on to your principles versus follow the pack and grab on to the latest trends, eh?

Comment by Mirlo | 2008-07-24 07:49:58

It’s her choice to support whom ever she wishes. What saddens me is that anyone, including TM, would accept rigging, bending and prevaricating the established rules, condoning a preselection etc, ie. undemocratic processes.

But hey, let’s not loose time over the likes of TM. She has to resolve her own issues, which are considerable. If she thinks she gets relieve by throwing mud, it only reflects on her character, not on the people she throws it at, right?

Comment by Joe | 2008-07-23 22:20:07

It’s one thing for her to say that she will help campaign against McCain. It’s totally another thing for her to castigate people who continue to support Hillary and then call for Hillary to be denied to be placed on the nomination in Denver just because the Messiah’s campaign is now paying her bills. I’ll call it like it is.

I never even heard of her till I came to this site.

Comment by princess wears prada | 2008-07-23 20:07:55

Mahaska,

If you’re serious…

Taylor Marsh was the “sh-t” to female Hill gals…she fought hard for Hillary every step of the primary season…she has sass & savvy.

But she now assumes the prototypical behavior of Obama staffers, surrogates & supporters - rip apart anyone who dare says anything about Sen. Obama.

Don’t forget what Gov. Sebelius proclaimed — using the word “inexperienced” to descibe Sen. Obama is code for “racism” …

Comment by Annagain | 2008-07-23 22:32:02

Sebelius should be deeply ashamed of herself for this. The man served 1

Comment by Ani | 2008-07-23 22:34:33

Gov. Sebelius should be deeply ashamed for making that comment and pushing that memo that racism is at play here.

She knows better.

Senator Obama was in the Senate 143 days before declaring his run for the Presidency at one of the most challenging times in our history.

“Inexperienced” in code for only one thing: “inexperienced.”

Comment by destardi | 2008-07-23 21:48:13

I was hoping Taylor wasn’t like the rest….

Alas, she is exactly like the rest.

Thank God there are people of a like mind out there; NOBAMA!!!

Comment by Mirlo | 2008-07-24 09:00:04

Let’s not get tempted to retaliate and become TM bashers.

If she thinks she can resolve her own issues by throwing dirt at others, it reflects on her character, not the object of her wrath.

Let’s not focus on the likes of TM, we have more important fish to fry.

She should think about about changing that “Democrat” though, if she openly condones the prevarication, rigging and selecting of a Democratic candidate. But again, that’s her choice, her responsibility.

Comment by BernieO | 2008-07-24 13:39:22

Taylor always said she would support the Democratic nominee whoever it was, but she fought for Hillary to the end.
My impression is that it is the guest bloggers who are being so negative about PUMAs but I could be wrong about that.

Comment by Cindy | 2008-07-23 19:27:42

Taylor Marsh could never be a “Hireheel”, just a heel!

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-23 22:54:49

She’s just hired. (That’s not too catty?)

Comment by Cindy | 2008-07-23 23:36:54

There’s no such thing as too catty when you’re a supreme cat (PUMA!!)

Comment by Uña de Gato | 2008-07-23 19:31:31

Taylor Marsh always said she would support the nominee whoever it turned out to be and that’s her right, but now she has fully assimilated the O-borg mentality and is “lashing out” in a puerile fashion at those who won’t fall in line the way she did. But her most egregious failure is that her writing has lost its edge and she has become more than pedantic.

Comment by audacity | 2008-07-23 19:56:41

Comment by princess wears prada | 2008-07-23 20:01:48

Una - this is exactly my point - I would never criticize a sister-blogger for her views…

it seems everyone ignored us initially, but now may be concerned that Obama’s weak standing against McCain (he should be up double digits) may be partially due to the PUMA movement…

Sorry ;-)

Comment by GrapeApe | 2008-07-24 01:42:15

That very negative post against the PUMAs was written by someone named Christine, though Taylor was more active in the comment section than I ever saw her during primary season.

Christine had to explain and defend her post over and over it was so poorly written. It appeared that only she and TM understood what she was trying to say. The comment section was a regular food fight and further evidence the post was a composition that would have earned a low D in any English class.

TM gave her site regulars about 30 short seconds to change their alliance to Obama after June 3rd. She was the queen of “get over it”. But TM allowed Christine to take some pretty mean pot shots at some people who gave Taylor some opportunities of a lifetime, and, in my opinion, that’s a true snake in the grass.

Comment by sarainitaly | 2008-07-24 05:33:59

AB FAB post! :O)

I read that post, by Christine, and was horrified by the comments.

I went to her site (antipuma or something like that) and left a comment. I had assumed they were originally Hill supporters. After I left my comment, I realized I had stumbled into Obama territory. They weren’t Hillary supporters - always Obama supporters. So, not only was TM featuring an anti-PUMA writer, but an Obama supporter that was similar to the ones that used to attack during the primary.

I don’t know how anyone (TM) who spent so much time pointing out all of Obama’s flaws could now fall in line, AND even attack Hill supporters… I don’t get it.

Party loyalty is over rated.

Party (R) loyalty is what got GWB re-elected in 2004.

Off topic

Who is the real Sen. Obama?

It is becoming increasingly apparent that Sen. Obama, the product of a corrupt Chicago political machine, is little more than the willing pawn of those who have manipulated his campaign success, a “useful idiot” who has accepted the Marxist, anti-Semitic philosophies espoused by his mentors while he mouths the vacuous promises of hope and change without ever admitting that he dances to the pull of the strings by his unnamed puppetmaster.

Taylor Marsh puzzles me. In March she had a bright future, and a devoted following of loyal, well schooled, mostly well mannered, energetic, and accomplished Hillary supporters.

She flushed it all away.

Comment by Susan Nunes | 2008-07-23 19:52:55

Michelle Marshall never had it to “flush.” She was hoping for the easy way to “make it” in radio, but the only way to do that was to actually work at a station from the ground floor (a pay-to-play gig does NOT count) and work her way up. Start local, work in larger markets, and then hit the big time, a process which takes many years. Unfortunately, she’s about 20 or 30 years too old to start in the business and has no expertise in law or medicine or some other field to take a shortcut from the usual path in broadcasting, and frankly, her frequently stupid comments on her podcast would kill off any chances for her to make the big time.

riverdaughter is an example to women, and men, everywhere. Harassed and driven from dKos by the vile scum who infest that site, I know whereof I speak, she didn’t quit.

She didn’t curl up in a little ball and cry.

She didn’t dive into a bottle in search of the bottom.

No pills neither.

None of the stereotypical behaviors we expect of a ‘defeated’ woman.

Nope, riverdaughter started The Confluence and started speaking out about the Examination and his behaviour.

And something amazing happened.

Millions of of folks started muttering, ‘PUMA’ under their breathe and then they started saying it out loud.

Now it rings from the mountain tops.

riverdaughter, I salute you. You are the model of what every citizen of this still great nation needs to be.

Comment by beebop | 2008-07-23 19:46:55

Miss Marsh kicked her values to the curb. And then her readers left. An HRC supporter cannot just move their votes from one candidate to the other. It isn’t that simple. Not if you truly supported Clinton.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-07-23 20:33:39

The Clinton choice is a COGNITIVE choice — not a primitive emotional choice.

I studied, researched the candidates and picked Clinton — and 18 million voters also went with CORE democratic values.

It was Taylor Marsh who talked about the lunch bucket democrats voting for Hillary.

When you really pay attention to what the candidates are saying, and look at their records — in this cycle only Hillary has the experience and knowledge of the complex problems facing America.

Also — as a woman I have seen the guy get the promotion, get called in class, get money for a sports scholarship, get better grades — get the raise in pay — simply because of his gender.

With the DNC’s selection of BOBO — we can be assured that NOTHING will change and in fact the next generation of women will go backwards. American women will lose human rights if BOBO is elected. BOBO is a sexist pig — dismissive and mean.

Taylor Marsh is like a lot of women of her generation — she is NOT a feminist. She makes that very clear — she may share some of the same objectives as feminists — but she is not one of us.

It is her lose — I feel sorry for her.

When you eject your core values — you are an empty person.

Riverdaughter has core values — and I am glad she helped start PUMA. She will have a place in history while TM will be forgotten very soon.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-07-23 20:34:39

That should read –

That is her loss.

Did TM say she is not a feminist? That’s a shame.

Comment by Fredster | 2008-07-24 03:49:41

Marsh became known for her strong support of Clinton. I found her from a link to a link to a link, etc. She was fiercely for HRC. Soon, her name and website got mentioned more and more and eventually she got interviewed by WaPo. Made a trip or two to DC.

Not long after, she started throwing hints that since Hillary wouldn’t win the nomination she’d *have* to support Obama since he would be the nominee, her (Marsh) being a good democrat and all.

Then came a screaming post from her THE PRIMARY IS OVER! Flip and transformation complete.

People left, drifted off (found the Confluence). The quality of the writing went down rapidly and at one point she wasn’t even getting anyone to guest post.

Marsh made whatever name she did make because of her support of HRC. After the flip she was simply one of many other lackeys.

Chorus girls rarely make it to be the headliner.

Taylor is doing exactly what she always said she would do, support the Dem nominee, REGARDLESS.
Her website is called DEMOCRAT Taylor Marsh.
As for me, I’m an Independent now. I vote for and against whoever I feel like, and there’s no way in hell I’m going to be voting for Obama, or have anything to do with the Donna Brazile, Tom Daschle, John Kerry type Dems.
I stuck up for those losers and liars way too long.

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-07-23 19:50:33

Yes, that is true. But she had some hideous hack write truly nasty stuff about several PUMA leaders, including Heidi Li Feldman of The Denver Group who has been a tremendous SUPPORTER of Taylor Marsh, and defended her and been supportive in many other ways.

The hideous hack called Heidi Li a “pocketbook” for JustSayNoDeal in a post that Taylor Marsh approved, and posted, on her front page — not under the side diaries — on the front page.

Of course, they wouldn’t know that JustSayNoDeal operates budget-free, and doesn’t ask any of us for money.

It was a cruel thing to do to Heidi Li.

Comment by audacity | 2008-07-23 19:59:48

Heidi Li was her pocketbook for a while. she was always asking people to donate for Hillary and Heidi was matching the amounts and DONATING for taylor’s blog.

Comment by 30yrdem-not any more | 2008-07-23 20:40:05

Yes it is true..I did the fundraisers. A lot of times Heidi would match donations to Hillary with donations to Taylor.

I will admit it bothered me sometimes but I did it for Hillary.

I haven’t been to TM’s site in months so I have not read what you all are referring to. The comment:Comment by Susan Nunes | 2008-07-23 19:52:55 pretty much tells the truth about TM. I see others here are aware of her past also. She can support who ever she likes, I don’t care, but I will say one thing…When she would be interviewed by an online paper a little more truth would come out about about how she was double talking…or when she would go on MSNBC…she would be saying one thing on her blog and another to MSM..When we would call her on it she would get real defensive…people would leave and she would go back to supporting Hill for a bit…I guess the blog traffic would get slow…She is going to say and do whatever it takes to get ahead…She may have been respected at one time but I think she lost a lot of it during this campaign…If she is trashing PUMA now then she is trashing democracy.

I don’t know about you all but I am pretty fed up with about every democrat out there. Didn’t someone demand we fall in line? What is that? We don’t have a right to vote for the person of our choice in America anymore?

Comment by corage | 2008-07-23 22:41:41

oh well, taylor could have had a great run with her blog if she stayed the course. but, i dont’ buy it when she claimed to be a ‘clintonista’ and then later say she will support the democrat nominee. ok, i’m a democrat and a hillary supporter, but i didn’t all of a sudden switch because the dem party ’selected’ their candidate. and taylor, the dem party does not have a nominee yet…ahem, he’s only the presumptive nominee…correction make that PRESUMPTIVE (all caps to go along with his big ego). so if you were really a ‘clintonista’ you’d still be fighting for hillary today…because we don’t have a frickin’ nominee yet.

but, taylor couldn’t wait to kick her habit of hillary and switch to drinking the koolaid with her obambot buddies.

well, like i said, taylor could have had a good run if she stayed a true ‘clintonista’. but i guess she was never one.

p.s. i’m no longer a democrat. i switched to indy on june 1. it was a sad day for me.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-23 23:04:40

The Democratic party is still thinking like it’s the beginning of the caucus season when either candidate had a good shot against the Republicans this year. They blew that by turning on themselves, and yet they act as if nothing happened. It’s sad and pathetic. Watching Obama run now (he’s such a joke) is like watching an animal run into traffic. “NOOOOO!”

Comment by Lyn | 2008-07-24 00:28:25

Didn’t Heidi, give Taylor the tix to the womens event in DC where she bought the table and maybe helped with her travel cost to go to it too? Heidi is the nicest person, this makes me disgusted with Taylor, so much for loyalty and friendship.

Comment by sarainitaly | 2008-07-24 05:40:47

Yes, I do believe that was Heidi.

That is another thing… TM always acts like she is BFF’s with Hillary. LIke she KNOWS what is going on inside Hillary’s head, and inside her camp.

But, she has to go through HLF to attend an Hillary event?

I think she inflates her knowledge, and relationship, and experience…. I feel bad that she attacked HLF.

Yes she does. Poor Heidi raised so much money for Taylor that it hurt me to watch. I was so grateful for Heidi for funding TM, because I enjoyed the company on the site.
I guess Taylor can justify it by saying she is sticking to her principles, but those are some nasty principles I don’t care for.

Comment by Lyn | 2008-07-24 00:18:49

What really pissed me off, was in the comments she tried to say what was said about Heidi was not an insult. and argued with people that defended Heidi.(of course in the comments her big compliaint was why doesn’t anyone defend ME, ME me me, just ugg, well maybe because she has been insulting her old posters since the 31st)I am so tired of people trying to tell us up is down and right is left these past few months, there was no possible way that was not insulting about Heidi, no matter how TM tries to spin it. I do not understand how anyone who believes Obama is even 1/2 the things Taylor wrote about, would think people would fall in line. I KNOW Taylor said she was going to work against McCain IF Obama was the Nom, but before she turned, she was even talking about having guest posters that were Hillary supporters who could never vote for the Fraud. I am so much happier when I don’t read her site, but I followed River daughters link.
I am so glad to have found Camille’s and Confluence the past couple of months. and even more thrilled NoQuarter is still No Quarter

Susan, I couldn’t agree more with you.

Heidi Li was a good friend to TM and to learn that she allowed such an ugly claim about her is disgusting.

Heidi would never stoop to such a level. She doesn’t have that kind of darkness residing in her soul.

My sincerest apologies to Heidi Li. I’m so sorry you are having to endure such a deep betrayal from someone you once considered a friend.

Yep,

I honor TM’s commitment to Dems, but when she started to sound like a troll, I left.

J at TL also is supporting the Dems, but as far as I have seen, she has not been as bad as TM, even though I have stopped commenting and only occasionally lurk there. I do not like the tone TL is taking, but it was bound to happen with the “current” nominee. TM, is off my bookmarks page, TL is close… only the great (and sadly decreasing) commentary keeps me there at this point.

What is it about Obama that lowers the discourse of his supporters???

Comment by sarainitaly | 2008-07-24 07:17:26

“What is it about Obama that lowers the discourse of his supporters???”

there is nothing to defend about obama wrt his experience, or eligibility or accomplishments, so they only recourse his supporters have, is to attack.

Comment by JM | 2008-07-23 22:07:07

I read the hack job of a post that Taylor promoted on her blog, and I responded accordingly on the nasty blogger’s own blog. The blogger, who I will not promote by naming her, defended her nasty comments with “everything I wrote was true”.

I find it interesting that Taylor Marsh is now pimping newbie bloggers to promote her viewpoint. In my opinion, she knows that many her visitors have faded away to other blogs that are more receptive to their anti-Obama opinions.

What is really mean spirited about Taylor Marsh is her willingness to ridicule her former visitors who remain anti-Obama in outlook as dead-enders, and being “unhinged”. Additionally, she frequently puts their comments into moderation, where they remain unread. Her blog is frankly not worth visiting anymore. I hope that she enjoys the 10 Obama supporters that faithfully show up on her blog every day. She may be a Democrat, but that type of Democrat I fail to recognize or promote anymore. Toodles, Taylor.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-07-23 22:46:59

Now Heidi is an example of a woman with principles. She’s a law professor at Georgtown U is she not? Talk about putting yourself on the line for principles. TM did what for a living that would force her to put herself on the line by speaking out?

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-23 23:12:06

I respect sex workers, but TM’s kind of putting yourself on the line is nothing I would want for my daughters.

Comment by OxyCon | 2008-07-23 23:43:43

You know, I don’t visit Taylor’s site much anymore, since there is nothing there that I am interested in. If she is allowing her “shiny new” Obamaton friends to attack Heidi, or if she is attacking Heidi, that’s pretty low.
I used to post articles of interest in the “Hot Topics” area of her blog, and I thought it was decent of her to allow me to continue posting anti-Obama stuff there after Hillary got screwed out of the nomination. But one day Taylor did leave a pretty snotty comment on one of my postings. I’ve been around blogs long enough to not take offense about it because, like they say about opinions, we all have one. I got the message and said sayonara. I did make sure to let Taylor know that her new Obamaton friends are just there to make sure she doesn’t step out of line, and that she’ll never be anything to those people because of her outspoken support for Hillary.

Comment by JM | 2008-07-24 00:31:09

Even to one particularly vulgar chump who goes by justlen. He has used the word “Cunt” to describe a pro-Hillary person on that blog. A complaint was made to Taylor, who then deleted his post. But I have seen him substitute the word “Coont” for the same word on at least two of his more recent posts, and that was allowed. For someone who “moderates” the comments on her site, she doesn’t seem particularly concerned about vulgarity. The only moderation happening on her site today is the suppression of comments from anti-Obama visitors. Hmmm… where have I seen that tactic before? I understand that it is her blog, and that she can do whatever she pleases. I assume that many of her former visitors have not gotten on board the Taylor Marsh Express, and that her “ridership” has diminished considerably. That’s too bad because she did have some decent blogposts at one time. Now that she’s doing the freaky Obama dance, she’s become passe rather quickly.

Message to Taylor: Dissent is not the enemy. The enemy is from within, and true Democrats realized this months ago. At one time, you did yourself. Sometimes words are “just words”. Open the shades, and let some light shine through, and you just might see more visitors to your site again.

And instead of just agreeing to disagree with us, she has leveled instults like dumb, ill informed, dead enders etc.

I think there was a comment where she may have even hinted that we’re racist. But don’t take my word on that because I’m not about to scour her sight for that comment.

Regardless, DNC and BO used GOP talking points against HC, now TM is using them against us.

Pathetic.

Look, she used to warn the Democrats about the way Clinton supporters felt and that Obama and the Dems were proceeding at their own peril. She used to say she wouldn’t be working for Obama but against McCain and she used to say she understood if others didn’t come into the fold.

She is a hack and an opportunist. I guess she came on board for Clinton because she really thought Clinton would win and then her site got a lot of traffic because she was one of the few Clinton supporters. And yes, Marsh does owe Heidi Li an apology. Heidi really helped Marsh in fundraising and in traffic.

She wasn’t always supporting a Democrat. She constantly bragged voting for Ronald Reagan, calling Carter a “disaster,” which lost me right then and there.

Comment by churl | 2008-07-23 20:40:07

That’s one I could never figure either. I’ll admit to voting for Nixon (apparently only three of us did) but I saw through Raygun immediately. Frankly, I think he was a worse disaster for America than Bush because so much social progress began to unravel under him and he set the stage for the crap to come.

So Nixon was the last GOPer I voted for, but I sure as Hell am not going to vote for the Obamiantion or any downticket Dem who supported him before May.

Comment by onmomnaturesside | 2008-07-23 20:52:13

Actually, I think Ronald’s VP, senior BU$H, was running most of the show during the RayGun years. He was better at slithering behind the scenes than Cheney, but make no mistake. George H W was a powerful scoundrel and even more powerful than Cheney is now.

Carter was not a disaster. I wish people would quit saying that. Carter’s “whole” problem is he led with his heart. That doesn’t make his presidency a disaster; or him.

He was and still is a great Humanitarian. I’m just not sure he should have ever been president, and I don’t mean that with any disrespect. He was my Commander in Chief followed by Reagan.

Carter tried to please ALL the people ALL the time and it’s just not possible. He was a compromise/solution man. The people he dealt with were not. They were action people, get the job done. We’ll talk about it later. He just needed to be a little bit more agressive, but it wasn’t in him. It still isn’t, even though as he’s gotten older he’s tried to pretend it is. He cares about people, and that was his downfall.

However, I also think it’s the thing that has lifted him up the most since then. He helped where it really counted, but people forget about that. I remember we only paid about a dollar for gallon of milk. It was up to almost 2 dollars a gallon when he took office. 50 cents for a dozen of eggs, which were up to almost a dollar. About 88 cents if I remember correctly. A quarter for a loaf of bread, if that. I supported myself on 2 dollars an hour and tips till I left for boot camp. You can’t afford to support yourself on minimum wages today. You remember things like that when you’re living paycheck to paycheck or off tips. I’d argue with anyone that said food prices did not drop during his term. They did, and it wasn’t by a penny or two which helped families.

Comment by Diana | 2008-07-23 21:45:10

Can I also just add…please. I really wish people would quit comparing Obama to Carter. Obama IS NOT a Humanitarian. Not by any definition of the word.

OxyCon, a lot of others began this primary season with that in mind. I preferred Hillary, but would have voted Obama. Five or six months into the campaign, I changed my mind. It didn’t happen all at once, just a slow erosion of my opinion of him while, at the same time, my admiration and, love really, for Hillary grew. TM saw those things too and blogged about them, but she chose to sell out. For me, it wasn’t a surprise. I loved to read the comments there, though I only lurked and never posted. The first time I went there, I knew there were others who were seeing what I had been seeing. But, I felt TM was an opportunist who thought she had hitched her star to a winner, but kept her options open.

Taylor Mush is her real name.

I am not a “sex and the city girl” and feel no need to hold back. She is pathetic. but if you look closely she always has been. That Podcast is just sad.

Has Taylor Marsh apologized to Heidi Li Feldman (HLF) for taking her money and then later insulting her on her blog? I have seen a lot in politics, but never have I seen someone gladly accept someone’s money only to spin on their heels and insult them months later. I find it all very TRASHY and shameless. Taylor Marsh should return Heidi Li Feldman’s money. And calling Heidi Li Feldman a “pocketbook” on her blog is beyond the pale. I am thoroughly disgusted.

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-07-23 19:52:28

Heidi Li donated money to Taylor’s blog? And then Taylor let that horrible hack attack Heidi Li? Wow.

Comment by Un coup de des | 2008-07-23 19:55:53

Yes, that is exactly what happened. Heidi Li Feldman fundraised for Taylor Marsh, and this is how Taylor Marsh reciprocates. Heidi Li Feldman even led petition drives to place Taylor Marsh on the radio. And then Taylor Marsh thanks her by referring to Heidi Li Feldman as a pocketbook on her blog. That, in my opinion, is the epitome of trashiness.

Comment by beebop | 2008-07-23 20:36:06

Sounds like Barry was the perfect candidate ultimately for Taylor Marsh. Under the bus, anyone?

Comment by Indyvoter | 2008-07-23 20:59:18

Both opportunists, looking for the right message to sell with no convictions of their own.

Kerry, Kennedy anyone?

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-23 23:18:14

It’s just really bad taste to accept money from someone and then refer to them as a “pocketbook.” Sorry, but that is whorish.

a LOT of money Susan, Heidi regularly matched funds raised for Hillary on the blog. HLF invited TM bloggers to the Washington DC Women Dinner event with Hillary and attended with Taylor there as well

She should in fact have made a donation to the Denver Group in recognition of that and in respect for Heidi. To fail doing that and then follow with an attack particularly one referring to the purse, from which Taylor drew often, is atrocious.

This is just totally unacceptable behavior IMO. Beyond spending the night commenting on what we are talking about apparently, TM went out of her way to do a hatchet job on the ‘movement’ she has an interest in putting down thru a third party via her blog.

Comment by lunchBucketDemocrat | 2008-07-23 21:45:43

That is disgusting. Taylor Marsh should apologize and return Heidi Li’s donations. That is gross and disgusting, indeed atrocious. Just who does Taylor Marsh think she is? She begged Heidi Li for money, and then she insults her on her blog? Does she have any shame? Or is she that hungry for money?

TAYLOR MARSH IS AN INGRATE. SHE IS TRASH.

Heidi Donated ALOT of Money to Taylor’s blog. She was maxed out to Hillary, so as fundraiser for Hillary would do a match where she would match the funds for Hillary when we posted reciepts, with a donation, usually to Taylor. There were alot of matches.

Taylor should not have done that, uncalled for.

it’s Feldman, guys, Heidi Li Feldman :)

Yep,

Heidi should post on her blog how much she raised for Marsh. And Marsh was always grateful for it. Well whe
