This is just more media harrassment to get us to fall in line. The fact that they are devoting time to riducle us means they are scared. They should be, everthing they have staked their reputation and career’s on is going to tank big time in November. Quinnipac polls just released show that McCain is picking up the “independent votes” in major swing states. I don’t follow that poll, so take it with a grain of salt, but McCain just pulled ahead with them in CO and within 5 points in MN. LOL*

I do not think that PUMA is particularly influential on the national level. We’re a solid minority vote within the Democratic Party that normally would have gone……Democrat. That’s all.

But the same is true for Jewish Dems, where McCain is doing much better than Obama, nevermind his SOP comments on his world-wide photo-op trip.

PUMAS annoy people because we’re so not the type to rebel. I liked what some poster said that we have puzzled them. We’re your moms. We have confused the Dems just like moms do to families when they finally say, “I’m not picking up your underwear anymore, and I really mean it.”

Everyone wants us to return to our usual behavior.

I said yesterday, and I will say it again.

Party loyalty is what got GWB re-elected in 2004.

He should not have won, he had a terrible approval rating, and he was doing a crap job. (personally, why he won the first time, was a shocker…much like Obama, now) but to win re-election was incredible.

And I refuse to blindly support a party, just because the candidate has a (D) by their name.

So telling that Cafferty read on-air the comments by obamabots talking about what “they” are (meaning those who don’t want bambi) instead of reading comments from the horses’ mouths, so to speak, about what “we” believe and why “we” believe barky needs to be derailed.

One of my first indications that CNN (and the others, of course) were not just “in the tank” for obama, but that it was policy on the part of the entire media corps, was on their websites – throughout the entire primary, all pro-Hillary comments were left in “moderation” for infinity – never to be posted. Hence, the comments section of all political stories showed almost 100% pro-bambi, anti-Clinton sentiments. They would not let pro-Clinton or anti-barky comments be seen – at all.

They are sooooo not about journalism. They are just bad magicians trying to create and perpetuate an illusion that bambi is overwhelmingly popular and completely inevitable.

Please, karma, be quick and ruthless!

I also think the media will be blamed in part for Obama’s downfall. There are just so many reasons, it boggles the mind!

I have an awful lot of trouble now watching the so called news! It is sickening. The more they fall all over their chosen one, the more people get utterly sick of him. It has been atrocious!

Obama has no substance and there is something creepy about him. I was never voting for him once I checked him out! Since January! It really has little to do with Hillary and everything to do with Obama creeping me out.

Thanks for saying what I would have liked to say to Cafferty! The comments were closed when I tried to post, not that it would have mattered anyway. Great post! I quit watching or viewing CNN awhile ago. Every other sentence for these goons are “the best political team on television” – When I hear that statement so often I think thou dos protest too much. Jack Cafferty is one of the worst, up there with Olberman and Mathews. I take comfort in knowing that their ratings have gone down and that they are losing respect as a credible news source.

As usual, Ani, you hit the nail right on the head. Cafferty is yet another example of how most of the press and mainstream media has become the Obama cheerleader squad – complete with all the usual clique-ish behavior.

And the comment moderation has been atrocious. It used to be that moderation served to keep discourse civil and mature – to weed out offensive or juvenile language and behavior. Now, it is used to stifle free speech, and suppress dissent – here, in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. But apparently the press and MSM are not brave enough to actually allow those they disagree with to be heard.

Lou Dobbs is the only one I can watch on CNN. The Situation Room lost me during the primaries. Cafferty went out of his way to say nasty things about Sen. Clinton. If he wasn’t so far up Nobama’s ass, he would KNOW why some us don’t believe the media hype and will NEVER vote for Nobama.

COLUMBUS, OH – 7/24/2008 – 56.4% of Americans draw a blank when asked to name one thing Obama has accomplished in his career; 47.5% do the same when asked about McCain, according to the July American Pulse Survey of 4,053 respondents. A Vietnam tour of duty and subsequent time spent as a POW is top of mind for 29.1% of Americans who did list an accomplishment for McCain. 9.6% (the largest percentage for those who provided an answer) gave a general statement about political views/bills for Obama.

It would appear that Americans should know more about Obama’s accomplishments; 44.6% say he receives more favorable coverage than his opponent by the media (even 36.4% of Democrats agree). 45.8% contend that the two presidential nominees receive equal coverage and less than 1 in 10 (9.5%) say McCain’s coverage is more favorable.

Other key findings:

With gas prices high, the drilling of domestic oil is a hot topic and the majority of Americans don’t know where either McCain (50%) or Obama (59.5%) stands on the issue. The candidates would be well advised to make their feelings better known; 71.5% say it’s important for the next President to adopt a policy that will allow for the drilling of domestic oil.

(I’m not suggesting I favor more drilling — I’m just reporting the news.)

When Hillary was still gaining ground in the primary but Cafferty was becoming anxious for her to get out, he said:

Perfect. While I often enjoy Cafferty’s homestyle conversation, he’s definitely pushing an agenda here that seems out-of-place for him excepting that he’s always taken opportunities to dump on Clinton.

I’m appauled that everyone has accepted Obama’s nomination even before the vote. He’s not the nominee yet and no delegate has voted at the convention, yet the DNC and everyone seems to have turned over the keys to him. If this is the Democratic party’s condition, they deserve to lose in the fall.

There is another reason why millions of us are not getting on the B-HO-Wagon: We are racists. But then of course there is this:

As a white male I find the white racisim idea laughable in light of black voter statistics. Huge numbers of black voters support Obama, a junior senator with no experience; how lame is that? I never knew how racist people could become until I was confronted with Obama and all that goes with him. Like George Bush and the religious right in the past two elections, Obama has not only driven a wedge between parties but also between his own party members. In this sense alone Obama is worse than George.

Anyone that votes for Obama because their ancestors were slaves, needs to have their head examined. If you want to vote for someone because of slavery issues, come into the present and vote for a woman. Women are still dragged into slavery in this country and it does not matter what color they are.

Why do we want to derail Barky? Well,it’s sort of obvious why if the Barky fans including the “MEDIA” would take a few steps back and remember Barky was selected,not elected.

Jack Cafferty has issues of his own, unfortunately for him. He plays fast and loose with the truth, as he has in this case, misstating the purposes and motivations of the PUMA supporting voters.

Why is it so difficult for this guy to believe that we simply aren’t convinced that the weakest, most inexperienced, snippiest, hubris laden and arrogant candidate is the best choice for America? Why does he feel the need to characterize people’s reasons beyond that apparent one?

He also, evidently, believes that his curmudgeonly and abrasive attitude is some sort of clever trademark, when in actual fact it only serves to suggest he’s not terribly familiar with his material. It’s an old schtick, and he’s over-using it. “Hey you punks, get off my lawn” is not a terribly effective way to convince someone of your worldview.

He’s had problems with alcohol abuse in the past, and not too terribly long ago, he ran over a bike messenger in NYC. With a CADDILAC. And he “left the scene.” Oh, and he was dragging the BIKE under the car…the cyclist, fortunately, had been knocked off the bike entirely–though injured, it could have been worse. AND, he went through a couple of red lights, too, with a whole crowd of people chasing after him and pointing at the bike under the car.

He ended up paying a pittance of a fine and doing the requisite 70 hours of community service. Amazing how being a rich, well-known celebrity can be helpful in cases like that! I rather imagine the poor immigrant whose job involves the wearing of a leaf blower and hearing protection, or the pushing of a mop wouldn’t get the same sort of consideration if he found himself in similar circumstances…

So forgive me if I look askance at his imitation of a “regular guy.” He’s a “regular guy” with deep pockets and a miracle worker of a defense attorney. He doesn’t speak for me, and I don’t find his views especially valuable, even when accompanied by his “grousing” act.

My comment is a bit off this topic, but I had to vent somewhere. I just finished watching Obama’s speech in Berlin. I was pertrified by what I heard. For those of you who have listen to it..please tell me I am wrong on what I heard and interpeted. He mentioned that he needs help to remake this world! I had this overwhelm sense of doom. I understood it has he wants to merge all nations into one! Did anyone else get that? Please tell me I am wrong!

How utterly brilliant! I sent a subsequent email about how yes, I am bitter that the more qualified candidate is constantly trampled on, demeaned and reviled by people like him.
The back and forth went on for awhile and I realized that Cafferty has a very fragile ego and very thin skin. It’s no fun parrying with someone who isn’t one’s equal!

Like those who can’t be hypnotized, we stand on the outside and observe what it really happening. His speech in Berlin, when given thoughtful consideration, is proof that he wants to rule the world, not just the American government. I will give Cafferty credit for one thing it was on his blog that my eyes were truly opened. I was censured for a comment I responded to about were we really united (this was after the Unity New Hampshire speech with Hillary and Obama. I responded very politely that I didn’t think so and I hated to see Mrs. Clinton paraded abound like a trick pony. They never posted my response! From then on I realized the media in this country feeds you only what they want to.

And then there is the most fundamental reason PUMAS are not supporting Obama:

His delegate advantage is due to undemocratic caucuses that disenfranchise large segments of the Dem Party, and were scenes of intimidation and fraud; then there is the travesty of FL & MI, and the absurd “solution” of the RBC meeting that basically stole delegates based on exit polls, unopened absentee ballots, and phantom voters. Add to that the manipulation and dishonesty of DNC leaders, the buying and bullying of superdelegates and many other examples of injustice, and we are not supporting Obama because he is a SELECTED NOT ELECTED NOMINEE.

I will not support these violations of the most basic tenets of our society, established by our Founding Fathers. They are behaving EXACTLY like the Republicans that they claim to oppose. How is it any different than 2000? And if we ignore it now, and endorse it by supporting their puppet, we are basically telling them that it is ok, we will always fall in line, and they can rig elections in the future to serve their own agenda.

JackAss McCafferty is the resident venomous misogynist of the CNN for Obama “News” Edition. He has made, and continues to make, misleading,biased, insulting and deeply sexist remarks directed against his favorite nemesis, Sen. Hillary Clinton, and his vitriolic misogynist nature is barely camouflaged by the “news” desk he occupies.

During the primary season, he went on air and publicly and contemptuously described Sen. Clinton as
a “SCOLDING MOTHER” wagging her finger at the voters!

This xeroxed copy of a “journalist” who can barely camouflage his venomous, misogynist nature best suited to an undertaker’s understudy than a news anchor, is an embarrassement to CNN and to all professional journalists–if any of them are still practicing their once honourable craft.

Actually, I personally feel that it would be an honour to be called a Scolding Mother. For whom would you rather have leading a country and setting priorities, an arrogant, rapper-wannabe teenager or a stern parent who could put some order into a chaotic family also known as U. S. of A.?!

Like the Scolding Mother would say:

SHAME ON YOU, JACKASS!

What’s ultimately disturbing here is that if the media had done their job and properly vetted Obama these many months, we likely would not be in such a predicament now. Who among us really wants to consider not voting, or, worse, voting for McCain this November? At a time when the country is facing the worst economic and political situation I can recall, brought about by the utterly disastrous Bush presidency, it is nearly unfathomable that we should not be wholeheartedly rallying around a Democratic candidate, assuring a landslide sweep into the Oval Office this fall.

Yet, here we are. And with only a few months to go, I, for one, am as turned off as ever by Barack Obama, his wife, his campaign, and most especially the Kool-Aid chugging media backing him without the merest shred of something, anything, meritorious to substantiate their fascination with and support of him. It’s beyond my comprehension.

Even now, as he flip-flops, falters and flat-out lies, the media resist taking him to task, instead glossing over his rough spots, making allowances, making excuses. It’s pathetic. And appalling.

And they still don’t get it. There’s not just one reason so many Hillary supporters refuse to consider voting for Obama, there are numerous and various reasons. The Obama reasons are evident — not vetted, empty suit, inexperienced, flip-flopper, racist, Rev. Wright, etc. — but what the press consistently fails to recognize is that women are outraged, yes OUTRAGED, by the disrespectful way Hillary Clinton was treated during the primaries, and by the sexist undertones rampant in the news coverage to this day. Women have been brushed off, cast aside and continually belittled throughout the campaign season; is it any wonder then that so very many of us are unwilling to come around to Obama now? Any wonder that “Not Ready to Make Nice” by the Dixie Chicks has become a veritable theme song for so many of us who hold steadfast to our vow to oppose Obama?

The Boys’ Club would do well to remember that old adage about “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
