“These people are weird” was the subject header of an e-mail I opened from a friend today. What was on the body of the e-mail message? This from Politico.com via People magazine about the Scrooges Obamas:

Bizarre. There’s more, with a “twist” from Charles Dickens:

My family has stopped with Christmas/birthday gifts, but we’re grown already. Kids? That is a little off.

At this point I am having doubts that it was not used for some other purpose.
I have seen good days and bad days in my life. Last year I had $110.00 for Christmas presents for 5 people in my family. Everyone got one or two presents.
It is not the price or value that matter but the honest try to get your loved ones something that is nice, enjoyable and marks the day of love and good will.
It is such a shame to deprive children of the Santa miracle… To make the expression of love un-important…

Christmas has little to do with Christianity, they couldn’t get all those pagan peasants to give up their winter solstices celebrations so they moved Christ’s birthday and combined the two.
Unless Rev. Wright has forbidden Christmas there is no reason for the Obama children not to have a Christmas celebration unless the Obamas subscribe to a religious ideology that doesn’t recognized Christmas. I’ve wondered what sort of Church bans pledging to the flag and country, refuses to wear symbols of a country and now bans Christmas gifts that wasn’t Quakers, Mennonites or Amish because I know Rev Godamn America isn’t any of those.
Even those belonging to very religious denominations (and I’ve known quite a few from Christian Scientists to Seven Day Adventists to Fundamental Baptists) who don’t celebrate by the giving of gifts who take their kids to Food Pantries, Nursing Homes, etc.
I even knew one family that had their kids clean out their closets and toy boxes every Christmas and then took them to their Church or a homeless shelter to teach them the value of sharing what they have with those who don’t have. But I guess the Obamas never thought of that.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses also don’t celebrate birthdays or Christmas… but they are also not supposed to vote, serve in the military, salute the flag, recite oaths, or run for public office.

Barack Obama has NEVER said the words which other Christians know in their hearts. He has made slim references to “following the teachings of Jesus.” That, my ignorant little troll, is not what makes a person a Christian.
Its not a particularly exclusive club but its members all share one thing which Barry has made strong efforts to avoid saying.
They believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for man’s sin. Salvation comes exclusively through acknowledgement and acceptance of that fact. No ‘following’ will do it nor will just saying so. It is my opinion that Barack Obama has never accepted Jesus as it is outlined in the Bible.
This is why he will never get the support of Evangelicals.

A Muslim friend of mine obviously does not celebrate Christmas, but also does not give birthday presents to her kids on their birthdays. None of her Muslim friends do, either. The kids have birthday parties but they give presents to the guests, not the other way around.
This is what kills me - we could elect Corey Booker the first black president, Colin Powell the first black president. But we’re asked/pressured to vote for this guy who spent his formative years in Indonesia not as an American but a citizen of the world. He’s not that into America.

What we can do now is “Un-elect” everyone, force greater adherence to the principles laid out in the Constitution and demand accountability.

The way we take back our country is to throw ALL the bums out and start over. I think that after two or three cycles of this we might just get our country back.
I do not believe that any progress can be made in this if it isn’t across both parties, but I do see it as a drastic but effective solution.

The slumber party birthdays is more curious, though. Any parents remember how old their kids were before they could stay an entire night at someone elses house? I hate to count how many kids I took home, and picked up before 8 years old as they adapted to that “treat”.
These people don’t know how to be honest!! But, an analyst would probably point out how their children’s birthdays and Christmas have become about the parents (we’re so progressive, WE are molding a chunk of our children’s character through denial of what 95% of children delight in annually).
