Michelle Obama Should Save Her Breath

Barack Obama believes his wife, Michelle Obama, will convince women to vote for her sexist husband.  I quote CBS2 News Chicago:

CBS 2’s Dorothy Tucker reports Michelle Obama gave a speech Monday at the Palmer House Hilton, at an event called “Women for Obama.” But the message was clearly aimed at women for Hillary Clinton.

Michelle Obama walked into the room to a standing ovation. Most of the people in attendance were longtime Barack Obama supporters, but the candidate’s wife made it clear she was here to court the new supporters. And she did so by praising her husband’s former opponent.

“My husband is a better candidate because of her,” Michelle Obama said. “My daughters will look at themselves differently because of her. All of our children, our girls, will believe in the possibility of something bigger because of her.”

Someone please remind Michelle that relegating an eminently qualified woman to the role of supporter of the hopelessly unqualified man will not cajole women voters to support her husband.  Someone also explain to Michelle that women are concerned with women’s rights, not with the manner whereby the Obama daughters perceive themselves.  And please remind Michelle that a woman who allows her husband to accompany her to a job interview in order to determine if he approves of her boss is in now way qualified to discuss women’s rights and women’s issues.

Our intelligence will not be insulted.  And no, unfounded statements gratuitously embedded in news reports will not convince us to support Barack Obama.  I quote CBS2 News:

Michelle Obama is an articulate professional in her own right, and a role model herself.

Articulate professionals who serve as role models do not utter the following statements in public:

They also do not exploit misogyny for electoral and personal gain.

And no, Michelle, “good families” do not force their children to attend a God Damn America church in inner city Chicago wherein the pastor humps the altar and issues death threats from the pulpit.  They also do not allow convicted slumlords named Antoin “Tony” Rezko to help them purchase their “own house.”

Michelle Obama can attempt to dupe the women and Hillary supporters she “wants,” but we will not budge, for we do not support sexist candidates whose spouses view women as a cache of voters to be manipulated and exploited.  Insulting Hillary for her husband’s improprieties at a Women for Obama before the primary only to spin on your heals a year later with your praise for her ability to buttress your husband’s political ambitions after the primary reveals that you and those who handle you believe we have very short memories.  Our memories are long, very long, however.  And we will never forget that you betrayed your sex in order to secure the nomination of an unqualified man who believes men should vet their wives’ employers.

Michelle is a fraud, just like her husband.

That she can even try to spout this pap after what she said in that second video is a testament to just how totally disingenuous the Obamas are, how desperate the DNC and Obama feels about the polls, and how much power PUMAs have.

Michelle — you are an embarrassment. I think it’s time for you to book Ayers to speak at U of C again.

she is he one that won’t let obambi to have Hillary as vp. he has lists of vp who have nothing done to deserve it.
Hillary got more votes (And does better against McCain right now). The last thing Obama wants is to be on stage and have Clinton get a bigger round of applause. He is more worried about THAT than he is about the welfare of average Americans. Of that I am sure.
If you want to go to the Obama folks and tell
I see no other reason why Clinton is not being announced right now by the Obama folks other than Obama’s ego.

Sorry.

It sure is nice having a little more time on my hands, and I’d love to spend some of it with you. Would you like to join me for dinner?
During the campaign, I had the chance a few times to grab meals with supporters, but they were always rushed thanks to the frenetic pace of the campaign. This is my first chance to sit down and spend some real one-on-one time with you. If you enter today, we could be having dinner together soon!Join me for dinner. Make a contribution today.
My staff has been calling this my “retirement dinner” — not because I’m retiring, of course, but because we’re working on retiring the debt we owe to small vendors all over the country. And everyone who acts today will have the chance to join me — along with a guest — for a dinner to talk about whatever you’d like.

relegating an eminently qualified woman to the role of supporter of the hopelessly unqualified man

Women all over the world have been doing this for too long. I’m sick of women propping up someone who should by age 46, be able to stand for something. Obama’s walk in life has been on many women’s shoulders. I still do not know what Obama stands for.

“narcicrat” (noun) a person of the new Obama party who has a previous drug conviction and lives in one of the new purple states, as well as those who care so much about seeming hip and cool, act much younger than their age, borrow their children’s clothing and allow them to decide who they’ll vote for and those whose tastes, manners, etc., are characteristic of members of an aristocracy, the aspiring and self-identifying elite, the limousine liberals and Hollywood types.

Obama Sides with Islamists in Choudhury Case
Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee has touted himself as a friend to the oppressed, as a politician who stands up for justice and human rights.

This is a cornerstone of his campaign to the American people. It’s easy enough, however, to define oneself in whatever way one wants; especially when no one in the media challenges you on it.

The real test of moral courage is how one acts—not just talks—in real-life situations. And in the one concrete instance when the Illinois senator was called upon to stand up for justice, he was nowhere to be seen.

Wow!

I have recently returned from Rwanda. I was last there in 1994, at the height of the genocide that claimed the lives of more than 800,000 Rwandans. The memories of what I saw haunt me still.

I wasn’t sure what to expect all these years later, but I found a country that has found in its deep scars the will to move on and rebuild a civil society. And the renaissance is being led by women.

Women are at the forefront of the physical, emotional and spiritual healing that is moving Rwandan society forward. One of them, from eastern Rwanda, told me her story — a violent, tragic and heartbreaking testimony of courage. She spoke of surviving multiple gang rapes, running at night in fear of losing her life, going days without food or water and witnessing the death of her entire family — one person at a time, before her eyes.

That is exactly how you talk about women’s rights.

Comment by yttik | 2008-07-29 11:06:34

I can’t help but compare Cindy’s two recent articles honoring women to Michelle’s sexist comments about how if you can’t run your own house you can’t run the white house. Or going on the View and saying “it’s fun to be pretty.” The Dems better find somebody that speaks to women and fast, because the way they’re going, it isn’t looking good.

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-07-29 11:14:04

Did you know Cindy McCain drives racecars and is a licensed pilot? She flies her husband to campaign events (he can’t anymore because of his arms.)

Meanwhile, this is how CBS describes Tim Kaine, Obama’s veep pick:

Meet Tim Kaine.

His views on abortion are roughly in line with those of George W. Bush. He thinks John Kerry spent too much time on the campaign trail talking about windsurfing and not enough time talking about God.

DNC is waving bye-bye to women.

Comment by Diana | 2008-08-15 14:46:45

Nancy Reagan is a fantastic woman. She was at the forefront of the fight for stem cell research, you know that won her some enemies on the Republican side. Just like Cindy she’s made some bad judgments. The difference between the McCain’s and the Obama’s is the McCain’s have taken their lessons in this life and used them for the betterment of others as well as themselves. They’ve both lived through some tragedies that would have left many humans broken and bitter, but they didn’t allow that to happen in their lives.

I firmly believe in the philosophy of, “There are no mistakes to be made in this life, there are but lessons to be learned. It is what you take from those lessons that mold you into the person you become, the paths you choose to take. It is only when you fail to learn from those lessons that you are doomed to repeat them.”

Obama has learned nothing. He’s like an immature brat that is used to having things handed to him no matter how he has to get them. “Me. Me. Me.” Michelle has taken her lessons and allowed them to make her into a bitter person, with the, “You owe me. The world owes ME!” My mother in law used to say, “It’s easier for a person to drag you down, then it is for you to pick them up. Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are.” Wright, Farrakhan, Ayers, Rezko. Even Michelle. No amount of anything will ever satisfy her because the world will still owe her…

McCain wasn’t my first choice, but if Hillary is not at the top of that ticket he will be my only choice. I have nothing but respect and admiration for both the Clinton’s and the McCain’s.

Comment by John | 2008-09-04 19:20:21

I’m not certain what world you’re living in. Cindy McCain had privilege from day one and inherited most of what she has gotten. Senator McCain graduated at the bottom of his class, live in privilege, whereas most would have been tossed to the wolves had he killed 140 service men playing games.

Hillary lost because her campaign was poorly administered and run. And if you think that the Obamas hadn’t had to scrape for anything in their lives, including hard work for their education, then you are in a different world.

Cindy McCain’s parents were self-made. When did the American Dream become such a horror story with Democrats? Did the Kennedy’s give all of their money away and send their kids off to earn their own living? What the hell has Caroline Kennedy ever done for America? Get a grip. Cindy McCain does a hell of a lot of charity work. Not the shit that is on the soceity page — the kind that saves lives. BUGGER OFF hypocrit.

Never told her husband and once she passed she took John on a flight and explained to him what she had been up to!

John’s reply was so glad you let me in on your small surprise.

This is a woman who does not need to brag or talk down to powerful women like Hillary or Hillary supporters…

Do you know what she does with all her “Rich Girl” money?
She finances an organization which crosses the world disarming land mines. If I recall correctly, she is also trained in disarming the things too.
I was asked to do that job after I took the Army Entrance Exam, and said NO F**KING WAY!
Jumping out of planes and sneakin’ through the bush seemed ever so more attractive.
A person who makes a mistake disarming a land mine
never even hears the “ang” in “Bang!”
The more I learn about this “Quiet Patriot,” the more I respect her. The more I respect her, the more I respect her judgement. The more I do that, the more I like her husband.
What a tremendous depth of character.

Agreed!

I wasn’t a big fan of hers initially with her emotionless face and (IMHO)bad hair color. But, I did some research and learned that is a pretty cool lady!

Let’s not forget the work she does with Smile Train, adopted her daughter from Mother Theresa’s Orphanage in Bangladesh.

She is also an animal lover which is always a bonus in my book! Michelle just wants to promote the idea of getting a dog – please! This is nothing more than a stupid marketing game too, trying to look like the all-american family.

Cindy McCain would make an excellent first lady.

When you hear Michelle Obama making that comment about Hillary not being able to run her house you instantly see that the old saying is true, “You can take the woman out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the woman”. It’s hard to believe she has a undergrad degree from Princton and a Law degree from Harvard, I would hate to see this woman anywhere NEAR THE WHITE HOUSE.

And Cindy McCain was visiting Africa and other war torn countries long before Obama began running for office. I was talking with a man, an Obama supporter, at a cocktail party last week. There were several women there, most who had been Clinton supporters and switched rather easily to Obama (for the record, they all have some judgment about her marriage – bitter!) Everyone raved about how beautiful Cindy McCain is. I agreed, and the guy got really excited. He called her a “total FLILF” from the Daily Show or Colbert, I forget. But I pointed out her charity work and how she is the head of her family business. I think she is a strong woman with an inner as well as outer beauty. The women there all enthusiastically agreed.

Continued, from the WSJ:

It is a humbling experience to be in the presence of those who have such a capacity for forgiveness and care. It is also instructive. If wealthy nations want their assistance programs to be effective, they should look to the women who form the backbone of every society. With some education, training, basic rights and empowerment, women will transform a society — and the world.

Women today make up a disproportionate percentage of the Rwandan population. In the aftermath of the genocide, they had to head households bereft of fathers. They had to take over farms, and take jobs previously done by men. But there were opportunities, too: Today, 41% of Rwandan businesses are owned by women.

humbling….the Obama’s would never honestly be able to make a statement like that….they are incapable of being humble.

I’m not sure who I loathe more, Barky or the wife. It really doesn’t matter anyway because they can never win me over.

What the MSM needs to finally get to get over it themselves is that once you don’t trust a person, no matter who, no matter why, they will most like never win back your trust and they sure as hell couldn’t do it in just 98 days if they could. We would be talking years if it were even possible ever.

Just this statement alone makes me laugh, “Barack Obama believes his wife, Michelle Obama, will convince women to vote for her sexist husband.” This woman is SO NOT LIKED. Even a muslim friend who supports Obama (he’s young….and can’t vote, so it’s just as an observant) he can’t STAND Michelle and calls her angry and militant, like everyone else I know.

I’ve only heard the KoolAide drinking B O promoters give fluff words on Michelle. I have not met one person that likes her and the reasons are usually universal.

This lady can only get guilt ridden or weak minded folks who are similar to go along, which means, that’s not convincing, just already in agreement.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-29 12:00:09

Linda — Michelle is in this for one reason. She believes in Black Liberation. She has been angry all her life at the rest of us and now she sees a chance to turn the tables on Whites. Unlike Obama who can smoothly transition from one lie to another to appeal to various audiences Michelle cannot contain her rage.

But despite his efforts to court this pivotal voting bloc, Mr. Obama retains even less support from Christian voters than John Kerry and Al Gore did in 2004 and 2000 respectively.”

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-29 12:05:32

Linda — Obama knows he cannot win without the 10 Million Hillary supporters who are for the most part voting McCain this year. So instead he is going after the Right Wing who have not been satisfied with McCain’s candicacy. Only one problem though — when confronted with Obama the Right Wing leaders have rushed to support McCain. Only Obama could bring out a huge Republican turnout for McCain. Sometimes I think this has all been a Rove plot to get McCain elected. If so, it worked — McCain had me at Hello.

“If you can’t run your own house, then you can’t run the White House.” –Michelle Obama

Barack Obama denied that MO was denigrating Hillary Clinton with that statement; but I don’t believe the denial.

It was a clear slam on Bill Clinton, aimed at diminishing Hillary Clinton, and reminding Democrats about Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky.

It was designed to undermine Hillary Clinton as a leader, and perhaps to provoke an angry response from the former president. Unfortunately for MO and BO, SENATOR Hillary Clinton is so much more than just a First Lady to Bill Clinton.

In the end, I think MO will one day regret those words quite profoundly. BO’s flirtatiousness, and his need for adoring women to swoon over him are evidence of MO’s vulnerability on this score.

More of MO’s “mean girls” act:

Comment by casey | 2008-07-29 11:54:31

Not only was it meant as a dig to the Clintons… it gives us a window into their world… ino ther words, just who do you think is “running” their house?

I think it’s MO, not BO.

She’s the one calling the shots.

So, what does that tell us… who would be calling the shots if BO were elected? I’m thinking it would be MO.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-29 12:12:57

casey — If Obama were told that Michelle was hurting him politically she would find herself back in Chicago in a heartbeat. She is all passion and Obama has none. When you are married to a man like that you could receive your walking papers at any time. Michelle says if you can’t run your own house — you shouldn’t be in the White House. I think Michelle should have said if you are stinking up the White House you will be banished to a separate house.

Senator Obama often says that his campaign is about the “politics of hope” and talks about how he isn’t running to tear anyone down. It would be nice if that were true but unfortunately, it’s not. For months, Senator Obama and his campaign have engaged in the very kind of political kneecapping and distortion that they now purport to detest. That’s not change you can believe in. That’s not change we want. That’s not change we will ever accept! And, now, his intellectually challenged minions have taken to the internet, inflitrating blogs like a deadly virus, threatening and bullying anyone who does not bow before “the chosen one.” Their attacks range from obscene language rantings on blogs, to posting e-mail addresses and personal information of bloggers, to threats of malicious property damage to vile death threats. If Obama and/or his groups of thugs think for one minute that courageous, proud Americans can or will be bullied and threatened into voting for him……………….then he will be getting a very big “November” surprise! P.U.M.A. And as an aside to the mitchandnanshow………….You’re on…slime!

It exists to put out bogus ratings as an excuse to attack the Republican nominee on national security, an area where they are traditionally strong. The rating means absolutely nothing, since this is a fly-by-night operation we’ll likely never hear from again.

How the hell would any Afghanistan veteran rate Obama as competent on their affairs when he has never been to the country till last week. He’d been in the Senate for 143 days before running for President. He never held a meeting on his subcommittee with NATO oversight and skipped three of the main committee’s directly in regards to Afghanistan. Barry Queen of Snots skips the wounded soldiers, because he can’t bring a camera crew and the veterans in this made-up group say Obama has their backs? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

Major DNC Donor to Party Treasurer: Obama is a Bad Investment

After years of stepping in land mines, I learned to read people and situations. I had no choice – my listening skills were honed, my gut fine-tuned. I picked up on what was and was not said, and I always paid close attention to the cast of characters.

Andy, my country comes first, not the Democrat party. Having said that, I believe that the Democratic Party has just kicked away the best candidate and our best chance to redeem our country, Hillary Clinton, a proven centrist. Given his resume, or should I say the lack of one, he is either ineffective or hiding something, neither answer gives me the warm and fuzzies. If she is chosen in Denver, you can
count on my full and enthusiastic support. Until then,

thanks for posting

At first I thought is was just some hyped up kids, and then a pattern emerged. He paid others to do his dirty work. The most egregious sexist cracks were rampant, both on the Internet and the MSM. Yet, what did Howard and Obama say? Nothing. Obama promoted it, paid his bloggers to write it. Never once did he try to stop it. Howard, after the damage was done finally commented on it, but barely. Wink,
wink.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-29 15:37:00

You know I consider myself a centrist. The right wing of the GOP scares me, but so does the left. Ideologues of either side should not have control simultaneously of the executive, legislative and judicial arms of the government. Absolute power corrupts, be it on the left or the right. Ha, but you will say…. the courts. If you have the legislative branch, all will be fine. McCain voted Ginsberg in, he is not a stupid man and certainly not an Ideologue, and he took heat in the primaries for refusing to have a litmus test for judges. And need I remind you that Obama thought Roberts was an acceptable appointment until some more experienced hands in the Senate told him that would not do?

Painting him as Bush 3 is a little annoying, and what’s up with the MoveOn Baby Alex commercial? Give credit where credit is due. McCain went against his own party twice on immigration reform, on ethanol subsidies, and campaign finance reform. He started talking about Global warming 8 years ago. I don’t agree with McCain on a number of topics, but I do believe he has principals and a backbone. He is not willing to say anything to get elected.

The original Pledge of Allegiance did not have the reference to God in it. That was added in the 1950s under the crazed anticommunist fervor that characterized the McCarthy hearings.

I prefer the ACLU to McCarthy and unconstitutional crossing of state-church lines, but that’s just me.

“What can be done to one can be done to all,” is an interesting motto.

Trying to make a case for free speech with many people is like explaining why cops can’t just shoot you in the back for running away (in most places in the US, outside the South) to someone who’s never had the experience of having had handcuffs snapped on, his face shoved into the hood of a Crown Vic and a cavity search.

I propose that approximately 2% of every high school senior class should be snatched, individually, off the street, from the classroom or their beds or athletic fields, reduced to a state of arrest, Mirandized and held incommunicado for 24 hours every year, at random times.

Now, THAT would lead to some Judicial and Corrections reform!

OB is desperate… Fox News is reporting that women over 40 could lose the election for OB. They have dissected the poll number to understand why OB has not gotten traction in a race that should favor the Dems. McCain has a big opening in this demographic. Women over 40 (Hillary supporters) have not fallen in line because most of us have personally experienced sexism and take Hillary’s treatment personally. We are experienced, intelligent and the backbone of the Democratic Party. So yes, they have a big problem and it is too late to fix it unless Hillary is nominated. MO prancing around in a Jackie style dress does not make her husband JFK and her speech does not appeal to women who remember her tactics in the primary. I have principles and will vote for my country over a corrupt party, but I will not stay home in November. I own my vote and I will vote.

McCain has won. I saw polls today that even the MSM is finally reporting that states that McCain is ahead with LIKELY voters. And the Republicans haven’t even started bringing out the big stuff yet.

Look they wanted to make absolutely sure that Hillary didn’t get in so they could run against Obama, the most definitely weaker candidate. Their worried about possible charges levied against them if a Dem gets in.
The Media and lots of Dems that are so upset with Republican rule fell for it and pushed Hillary out.

Once again the Republicans have won!

Comment by Zeke | 2008-07-29 13:41:04

Alice,
In a situation such as this, the Nation’s survival is at stake.
Sorry, but there will never be charges filed against this administration for wrongdoing. To think that it could occur is to misunderstand the way the system works.
“Once again the Republicans have won!” is also, IMHO, off the mark.
Stopping a narcissistic, lying, cowardly Marxist will have meant that We, the People, have won and saved our country in the process.
The Democratic Party has been hijacked by Marxists and the people too stupid to know they’re being jerked. Allowing Obama to be elected would let these scum hijack the whole country.
It is important to stay focussed on the mission and not be distracted by a past over which nothing will be done.
We must first look to preserving the Nation before trying to re-capture the Democratic Party or there won’t be any parties period.
Regards

I received a letter from Michelle Obama as I am sure most everyone did. I wrote back and informed said person(s) that I could not in good conscience support Senator Obama until he gives an apology to both Clintons for allowing his campaign and his surrogates in branding them as bigots and racist.
I was removed from another forum for posting this back in January and February and of course received notices about what I was writing. Then of course I did not and then I was banned, but the fact remained the obama camp played the race card often and then with much glee and help from the willing whoremedia blamed both Clintons.
The problem with Michele obama is she was ready to place the blame for her husbands defeat at the doorsteps of the Black community. You remember the NBC interview that was pulled after a half day’s air time? Where she said “black america will wake up and get it”. Well, they did but not before obama, his campaign and surrogates branded the Clintons bigots and racist. WOW!

*Takes her kids to that disgusting church

*Writes that terrible thesis at Princeton complaining all the while riding on her brothers coat tails

*Makes those remarks towards Hillary about not being able to keep her home in order how will she keep the WH in order, all the while she goes and buys a house with the aide of a convict and uses her status on government commitees to bypass laws regarding her house

Did Obama Blow Off Troops at Bagram?

Monday, July 28, 2008 10:14 AM

By: Jim Meyers

The controversy over a report that Barack Obama “blew off” American troops during a visit to
Afghanistan has taken a new turn, with an assertion that a photo issued to discount the report
is false.

As Newsmax correspondent Kenneth R. Timmerman reported on Thursday, a U.S. Army captain
sent an e-mail about Obama’s hour-long visit to Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan on July 19
during his week-long foreign tour.

The e-mail was first posted to the pro-military blog Blackfive.net. Signed by an Air Force Capt.
Jeffrey S. Porter, the e-mail said in part that Obama “got off the plane and got into a bulletproof
vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General who is the commander here at Bagram.
As the soldiers were lined up to shake his hand, he blew them off and didn’t say a word as he went
into the conference room to meet the General.”

Obama then went to a tent “so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball,” the e-mail
continued, and “again shunned the opportunity to talk to soldiers to thank them for their service.”

The e-mail was quickly circulated in thousands of e-mails and dozens of blogs. Several liberal blogs immediately claimed that the story was a hoax or a fabrication and that there was no such Capt.
Porter.

But the Obama campaign went into high gear attacking Porter’s e-mail and got the Pentagon to
issue a statement contradicting the claims made. An Army spokesperson acknowledged the e-mail
was real and written by an actual Capt. Porter, at the same time seeking to deny its validity.

“These comments are inappropriate and factually incorrect,” Army Lt. Col. Rumi
Nielson-Green told the New York Daily News.

Obama did not play basketball at Bagram or visit the tent, she said, adding that Obama “took time
to shake hands, speak to troops, and pose for photographs.”

Capt. Porter also issued a statement via e-mail, asking those who received a copy of his posting to
delete it and asking bloggers to take it from their sites.

“Some of the information that was put out in my e-mail was wrong,” Porter wrote, according
to the Military Times. “This e-mail was meant only for my family.”

Porter did not, however, specify which information was wrong, not did he issue a blanket
denial of his account.

And the Army Times reported on Sunday: “An Army officer’s negative e-mail account of
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s visit with the troops in Afghanistan that
set the blogosphere ablaze prompted Army officials to correct aspects of the e-mail and resulted
in a statement from the message’s author that ‘some of the information that was put out in my
e-mail was wrong.’”

The Army Times story was accompanied by an Associated Press photo captioned:
“Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama speaks to troops at Bagram Air Field on July 19.”

That prompted the blog Blackfive.net to report: “We have established that Senator Obama did not
play basketball at Bagram airfield or visit a specific tent . . . However, that is not very important in
establishing whether he did indeed blow off the troops . . .

“I have been asking for photos and searched for hours for photos of the Senator talking to troops at
Bagram. That would debunk this whole notion that he didn’t talk to the troops at Bagram, wouldn’t it?

“At that Army Times post, part of their evidence is a photo of Senator Obama talking to troops at
Bagram.

“Just one minor problem here — that’s not Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. That’s Camp Arifjan,
Kuwait.”

Blackfive’s report includes an official Army photo showing Obama meeting with the same group of
soldiers depicted in the wrongly captioned AP photo. The official photo was taken at Camp Arifjan

Blackfive concludes: “So here we have a patently false photo in the Army Times.”

(Editor’s Note: Following the Blackfive report, the Army Times changed the caption to correctly
state that the photo was taken in Kuwait.)

Hillary Clinton showed me that in spite of her husband’s very public infidelities that they have a real marriage. That it was worth fighting for. In today’s world, it is so easy when things aren’t going our way to just cast it aside for something new. New doesn’t mean better.

Comment by Lou | 2008-07-29 14:14:02

My husband is a better candidate because of her,” Michelle Obama said. “My daughters will look at themselves differently because of her. All of our children, our girls, will believe in the possibility of something bigger because of her.”

And over Half of the population (women) in America see this one thing… WOMEN CAN’T BE PRESIDENT-BECAUSE OF HIM……AND his vote stealing and kicking a woman off the nomination ballot ripped off the chances for a qualified woman to be president in our lifetime. Because of HIM!!

I love it when I’m told that I can’t be a “real” Democrat and vote for McCain; or that because I’m a woman, I can’t vote for McCain.

You know what? McCain could be rated an “F” from every women’s organization out there and it doesn’t change the fact that Barack Obama is a DEMOCRAT, which is supposed to the be the party FOR women’s rights, FOR equal pay, FOR healthy families, FOR working class Americans … . Democrats are not supposed to be elitest sexist swine — we generally leave that to the Republicans, right? — and the fact that “my” party wants to put Barack “Sweetie” Obama at the top of “my” ticket is an act of betrayal.

PUMA, right on.

I have not yet made up my mind to vote for John McCain. But I know I WON’T reward the Democratic party with a vote for BO. Even if I could get around his questionable character, his OFFENSIVE inexperience cannot be mitigated. Nor can the fact that when challenged on pretty much anything, he backs down or tweaks his view. That’s not the guy I want in the White House. I want someone who can put their foot down and stand for something. It’s a matter of integrity, and BO has none.

Comment by cathnealon | 2008-07-29 15:33:32

Look–BO has no affection for women at all–he treated Hillary like a sexist pig during the primary season; he certainly doesn’t care about his stepgrandmother or half-grandmother in Kenya living on a dirt road; he threw his ‘typical white grandmother’ under the bus and his book wasn’t called “Dreams of my Mother” but rather a book about an alcoholic, womanizing, abandoning father whom he seems to glorify. So Mrs. Obamanation can try and convince Clinton supporters to vote for her crazy Wright loving husband–it’s NEVER going to happen.

Comment by NotBrainwashed | 2008-07-30 09:24:27

This man should be in a therapist’s office, not the Oval Office. Glorifying a father who abandoned him? Probably not so healthy.

I believe the sexism issue is still being greatly ignored by MSM. Maybe because many in the industry are sexists. My wife, a Republican like myself, is still angry at Chris Matthews’ treatment of HRC. Especially the “she’s only a senator because her husband fooled around.” comment. As a physician, my wife was subject to blatant sexist comments through training by instructors and fellow students. This happened in both medical school and residency. Back then she very reluctantly said nothing. But now she owns her own practice, has four other providers working for her (all female) and she is only 40 (that’s right Obama people I said ONLY 40). We live outside of D.C. If we ever run into Mr. Matthews this time she won’t stay silent.

Naive with your one chastised to the so called black community rather I think is all to do with her thesis. Whilst the media convince the right wing flagship of its editorial print. Is healthier to open it to another arena whether in the end it engines both parties right. Rather her so called I am wearing on my sleeves could only spearhead another agenda for them which I don’t doubt the woolly hair continuation to seek progress. Yes there is Public Service for all rather it does not come easy to climb to the Top > you have to prepare > be ready for the yellow emblem which has chastised the services of breakfast, brunch, tea.
The modern day so called black women is not the one who sit at the village and await and swallow pride rather the sisters on the opposite hold the curve to play cliché naive the next generation burden could start to be draw on her for Us to witness the real homework from the DARK SKIN COMMUNITY.

Michelle Obama-

This is the same person who said,

“I’ll think about supporting Hillary.”

“How can she (Hillary) run the White House when she can’t even run her own house?”

In addition, Michelle Obama nixed Hillary as Vice President.

Many of us cannot now forget her words and actions. We are not fooled by her acting.

[...] Michelle Obama Should Save Her Breath (Un coup de des at No Quarter) Barack Obama believes his wife, Michelle Obama, will convince women to vote for her sexist husband.  I quote CBS2 News Chicago: “… [T]he candidate’s wife made it clear she was here to court the new supporters. And she did so by praising her husband’s former opponent. ‘My husband is a better candidate because of her,’ Michelle Obama said. ‘My daughters will look at themselves differently because of her. All of our children, our girls, will believe in the possibility of something bigger because of her.’” Someone please remind Michelle that relegating an eminently qualified woman to the role of supporter of the hopelessly unqualified man will not cajole women voters to support her husband. [...]

You all have to be the most RACIST women I have ever met! Are you that scared of black people?

Comment by voiceofcommonsense | 2008-08-01 18:18:10

No, I’m not a RACIST or a woman hater. I just don’t believe that bo & mo are sincere about anything. I want a president that will stand up for the US & not back the Muslins. A man that changes the official enblem of the President to put on his plane (see above post), won’t wear a flag pin, & won’t honor the US flag is not the person I want leading the country I love. Now if Condalesa Rice or JC Watts were running for president, I would vote for them easily. I am not afraid of black people. Andy Rooney had it right, most of the black people in the US were not born in Africa, so why do they call themselves African-American. I don’t say I’m Euro-American, German-American, etc. If you were born in America, you are an American, why not just say that. Color of skin does not matter to me & it doesn’t matter to most of the people that live in the US.

Comment by Jen | 2008-08-01 19:19:03

Man, you folks are angry!

Obama is the candidate. How could you have so much love for Hilary and none for Obama? That doesn’t even make any sense.

Michelle Obama worked hard, put herself through school and accepted jobs that compensated her for her work. This is what most citizens strive for. Why is this such a problem?

Maybe if you would stop being so angry, you could see the positive instead of creating and focusing on so much negative. Hilary is not the candidate. She did not win the process. She is not an option in this election. Move on!

Comment by Kym Reed | 2008-08-26 19:28:15

YOU ARE ALL RACISTS!

Let me repeat that just to make sure you bimbos understand where I am coming from:

YOU ARE ALL RACISTS!

You have hijacked feminism and made it the sole domain of upper-class white women who have never once wondered where their next macrobiotic meal is coming from. For some strange reason while you carry your dog-eared copies of bell hooks you are still clueless as to where she is coming from. You think just because you celebrate Audre Lourde’s birthday that gives you the unmitigated right to insult a woman with more class in her pinky finger than all of you combined. You have alienated feminists of color by your shrill and hateful denouncement of Michelle Obama and of women of color who have chosen Obama over Clinton.

You have bought into the far right propaganda machine by claiming she’s ‘anti-American’, which speaks volumes about your lack of brainpower.

You have proven the right wing facists correct that feminism is filled with nothing but whiners who demand adherence to an orthodoxy that has NOTHING to do with feminism’s true ideals. You have insulted EVERY woman by claiming that there are no other qualified women available to run for president of the United States. What about Maxine Waters? Oh wait, she’s BLACK! Well, Nancy Pelosi isn’t and she’s highly qualified. So is Jocelyn Elders–and where where you broads when your sainted Bill Clinton lacked the balls to stand up for her?

Yes, I am the Angry Black Woman, and I am PROUD to carry that banner. Harriet, Sojourner, Fannie Lou, Shirley–I’m in damn good company! We’re sick and tired of the endless disrespect from this country and we are sick and tired of the nonsense that we’ve had to deal with from privileged white women for over 400 years.

Back the F*ck off of Michelle!
