A Portrait of Obama Turning Gray

webhair-color-changes_edite.jpg

You can almost set your calendar by it. Our Presidents’ hair turns gray while in office. The cause has got to be that unrelenting, nerve-racking stress that automatically accompanies the most grueling job on the planet.

Leading the free world in times of acute crisis both here and abroad is a 180 from jogging along on the campaign trail. But Barack Obama is turning gray before our eyes, and he has not even been declared a candidate!

webobama-gray.jpg

Can stress really hasten graying of the hair? Researchers suggest that it can. Stress induces hormones that could affect the melanin, the coloring agent in our hair and skin.

However one of the other writers at No Quarter hypothesized that perhaps Obama’s hair has been grayer all along, but he has been coloring it to attract the youth vote. Now that he has them rounded up, he desperately needs to attract the more mature vote, so it’s just growing out.

Even Obama isn’t denying the hair color changes. Politico reports that, “by his own admission this week, ‘the gray is coming quick,’ so that it now dusts his head like snowflakes. The laugh lines cut a little deeper, and the crow’s-feet around his eyes appear slightly more pronounced.”

So, is Obama stressed out before the curtain even opens on the first big act? If so, that’s stressful for the rest of us. Or, has this been a little campaign ploy all along?

Presidenting is hard!

Comment by georgiapeach | 2008-07-30 09:33:30

Pretending to be the President must be hard, too. Or maybe Obama really does think he’s already the President, with the actual election being just an annoying technicality.

Comment by JoseyJ | 2008-07-30 09:59:34

In the race for the White House, there are nearly twice as many uncommitted voters as there were four years ago in late July (see other recent demographic highlights). While much has been made of John McCain’s struggles with his party’s conservative base, 33% of the uncommitted voters are Democrats while only 19% are Republicans.

Ludacris Releases Song Attacking Hillary Clinton

Ludacris, rapper and avid supporter of Barack Obama (Obama once claimed to have Ludacris in heavy rotation on his iPod) has released a new song called ‘Politics: Obama Is Here’ in which he attacks Hillary Clinton as an ‘irrelevant bitch’.

Like what is she doing? She stepped back and supported the ONE.

Comment by bemused | 2008-07-30 12:24:08

Just did–looks like the U. of C. was paying him for a postgrad course in politics and campaigning. Look at it. His courses are all he needed to know to get ahead in politics, he tried his ideas out on students. No doubt drew some conclusions about young students and how to game the system. Besides, he made good contacts networking in the legal system without actually having to work too hard or be exposed to criticism except in the University, where personality fights are well-known and tend to obscure judgement.

I know this is a generalization, but blacks usually age so much better than whites, turn gray and wrinkle much later in middle-age. For a black man in his 40’s, NObama looks rough. Must be the genes from the Kansas side of the family. Maybe soon MEchelle will wake up screaming: “Help! There’s a white man in my bed!”

Bad Numbers For Obama And DNC: PUMA POWER

while much has been made of John McCain’s struggles with his party’s conservative base, 33% of the uncommitted voters are Democrats while only 19% are Republicans. Forty-eight percent (48%) are not affiliated with either major political party

Oh this guy, what he won’t do for effect. My hair is about 60-70 white, 30-40 black and I know from experience that you don’t grow a crop of white hair in a couple of months, So, one of 2 things is happening:

1. He had color on his hair (just for Men) and he’s allowing it to grow out so that appears to be a grown-up.

or

2. He’s frosting his hair for the white hair effect.

I think the answer is HE’S HAD COLOR ON HIS HAIR AND HE’S LETTING IT GROW OUT because that’s what it looks like.

A little more showmanship never hurts.

The Roman Empire at its height extended from what is now England to Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Who did the emperors use to build the infrastructure of the Empire? Slaves.

Where did they get aforementioned slaves? Conquered territories.

Just because you’re Anglo doesn’t mean you don’t have slave ancestors.

“The slave trade was an economic partnership initially between Arabs and Africans. It was later the Europeans entered the market. There is documentary evidence to indicate that the relationship between the African slave sellers and their European customers was quite collegial. Even to the extent that the offspring of African sellers were taken to England and America to be educated there and returned home.

The slave trade with the Europeans was so profitable for African nations that when Britain abolished the trade in 1807, many African nations protested. The Chief of the Ashanti nation wanted to know “if the slave trade was so good before why is it so bad now?”

African women also were involved in the business. One, Fenda Lawrence, operated a slave trading business on an island in the Gambia River. She later traveled to the colony of Georgia with an affidavit according her the rights of a free person.

There were many free blacks in the American colonies. They were enfranchised and as early as 1641, Mathias De Sousa, were elected to legislatures. These free blacks owned slaves–some for philanthropic reasons, as Carter G. Woodson suggests. However as John Hope Franklin wrote, “…free Negroes had a real economic interest in the institution of slavery and held slaves in order to improve their economic status.”

If Obama is so intent on helping the black citizens of the USA then he should guide them in the direction of his pockets, his and his families.

the full blame falls on the shoulders of the DNC elite. obobo is but the empty suit manchurian uncandidate. albeit a very willing one. the overall hubris inherent in his handlers,, himself, and all connected to him, is so inflated it has nowhere to go but down.
