I Adore Carol Marin of the Chicago Sun-Times
By Un coup de des on July 30, 2008 at 10:30 PM in Barack Obama, Chicago, Elitism, Michelle Obama, Misogyny, Sexism, Women
Carol Marin of the Chicago Sun-Times is the blue flower in the landscape of journalistic vapidity. Indeed, she is the intrepid news reporter who appears in this video created by Flineo:

Casting a critical glance at Michelle Obama’s abortive attempt to woo women voters at the Palmer House this week in Chicago, Marin explains why Michelle’s bankrupt entreaties will fall on deaf ears. I quote Marin:
The Obama campaign has a woman problem. How big? How small? It’s not clear, but in a close election, small can be big.
Marin, in other words, acknowledges the schism in the Democratic Party, a schism, she correctly observes, that is a result of the disenchantment of a core constituency: women. Refer to them as small all you want, Democrats, but small is large in a competitive general election. And yes, size matters.
Marin continues:
You wouldn’t have known it from this mostly well-dressed, mostly well-heeled crowd. Many of the women, black and white, young and old, were early donors who gave money back when Barack Obama was a long shot, and they were gladly giving again now. A lovely lunch of organic chicken prepared by a renowned chef, Alice Waters, brought in somewhere between $400,000 and $700,000 for the Obama Victory fund.
Although visually diverse, the crowd of women attending the Women for Obama event are all wealthy; they are members of the haute bourgeoisie. This is in stark contrast to the many female Democrats the media has relegated to the penumbra. Marin, on the other hand, places one of these ignored women in the center of her column. I quote:
But the women Obama needs right now are the ones who do not dine downtown. They’re the ones who can’t afford organic anything, forced to choose between a gallon of gas and a gallon of milk because they can’t buy both on the same day.
Women like Sarah.
A few hours after leaving the “Women for Obama” luncheon, I ran into Sarah, not her real name. I’ve known her for a few years. A single mom, she free-lances, working as many jobs as she can to support two growing boys. She dreams of a permanent gig with benefits, but it’s still just a dream.
A 37-year-old Democrat, she is also a college grad and a news junkie who has watched this campaign like a hawk. She surprised me with her anger Tuesday, saying she’s voting for McCain.
To Sarah, Barack Obama is like the organic chicken at lunch. Sleek, elegant, beautifully prepared. Too cool.
At last a reporter highlights what everyone else suppresses. Obama is an elitist, Marin declares, and he must choose a different tack if he desires the support of women who have had to struggle their entire lives to receive an education and to raise their children. These women are the survivors of sexism, and they empathize with Hillary Clinton and all the other experienced women who have been forced to wait as the polished, groomed boy of little to no accomplishment is arbitrarily catapulted to the rung above her on the social and financial ladder. ”Too cool” is an apt characterization of Barack Obama: he is nothing more than a newfangled commodity, and the insidious glow that emanates from the burnished surface of this patriarchal blandishment does nothing more than contribute to the chilly environment too many working women have had to endure both inside and outside the sexist workplace.
Women whose dreams have been crushed continue to suffer, but Michelle and the donors with whom she cavorts nibble on organic chicken as they celebrate the destruction of Hillary Clinton. Because Marin understands this is not a winning strategy, she offers the Obamas a bit of advice. I quote Marin again:
They may need to try offering more macaroni and cheese.
In other words, the hopelessly aloof, indeed oblivious, Obamas must acknowledge the uncomfortable reality of their irrecoverable loss of the votes and the confidence of working women. Perhaps Michelle should ask the WAL-MART distributor to whose Board she was appointed if they have any boxes of macaroni and cheese mix to spare the family that spends $10,000 per annum on ballet lessons and summer camp. Perhaps it is time for the inhabitants of the Rezko mansion to learn how real Americans experience quotidian life. Perhaps Michelle Obama would understand working women if she spent less time at fashion shows with her husband’s slum landlord patron and more time with the ordinary women Carol Marin interviews.
If only reporters were as thorough and rigorous as Carol Marin of the Chicago Sun-Times.
The reception of Marin’s article can be reviewed at Memeorandum.

“And yes, size matters.”
Ah, shoot.
Another great Flineo video!
It’s haunting and needs to be seen nationwide.
Terrific.
I love Flineo. But I wish it would have wrapped the Rezko issue a little tighter. The fact Obama has been mentioned in trial? People just have not heard that.
Carol Marin is the real deal. A while back, she actually quit her 10 PM anchor position when new management gave Jerry Springer a commentary spot on that broadcast. It was quite the big event in our town. But she is one who can be trusted, and one has a lengthy investigative resume. At one time, she contributed to 60 Minutes. I am a fan!
Texas Darlin’, if you’re listening, she might be someone who would look into the citizenship issue.
I have a personal theory that our Gov. in Illinois knows something about BHO’s background, and that he will sing like a canary when his own political life and freedom are at stake. This is just a gut feeling, based only on the Rezko connection they share, and a lifetime of seeing how things work around here.
To read the moronic obamazoids over at taylormarsh.com you’d think the election was already over and barky was crowned. It will just make this election so much sweeter to listen for all those smug, smarmy college crowd obamazoids screaming and tearing their hair the morning after the election. I don’t give a rats ass for Mccain, but I think at this point the best chance this country has is for more and more people to be exposed to the truth about this third rate conman so his numbers keep going down.
EXCELLENT COMMENT
On 4 November — I’ll go to bed early — my vote having been mailed in days earlier — KNOWING that McCain will beat Obama.
Generally I watching the election returns — not this time.
THEN on 5 November I’ll watch the Obamabutt’s heads explode — there will be name calling. But who cares?
PUMA power!
Name calling? They will be smashing storefronts and overturning cars and setting them on fire.
What’s the difference, they will do that if he wins too.
No kidding, you know they will.
and it’ll be the white college students who will be joining in…
I will say this though – right before the OJ Simpson verdict, there was a lot of tension in Los Angeles given that many people had gone through the riots of ‘92, and to be honest, I am sick and tired of those who turn to violence holding the rest of us hostage for decisions that are fairly made – OJ was guilty, and yet, the judges, the police, the citizens were afraid if that were the official verdict, the city would be ransacked.
It is a ridiculous way to behave, no matter what skin color one has, and it only creates bigger racial divides even when the majority of the AA community who never resort to violence.
and it’ll be the white college students who will be joining in
Are you INSANE …. and damage their IPODS? Not a freaking chance. They’ll sit in the basement and cry.
We’ll get over the riots so I’ll take that instead of the torture that 4 years of an Obama
presidency.
It is really sad to me and I know that a majority of you won’t get this because it simply won’t be necessary that you do.
The real harm being doing by Obama is to the many authentic AAs who do not agree with him.
And I do not challenge your thoughts or feelings .. any of you. But I do take the opportunity to remind everyone that those who would riot and such are not the MAJORITY of AAs.
I remind that each and every race, religion, country … there will always be a loud minority in every group. It is important not to judge all by the few.
I had to go through riot police to get to my neighborhood at one time. I lived in a neighborhood most people wouldn’t want to drive by. I had to fight my way through many a situation and I have felt the sting of reverse discrimination from AAs.
But I also lived in a great neighborhood with hard working people who went to church and taught their kids right from wrong. Many of those people were my friends or neighbors. They did not riot. They did not steal. They were not angry.
Its very frustrating to see the mass thinking that occurs. It can’t be helped. We are only human.
Actually I think the mail in vote might be the safest. We would have a paper trail. Of course some of the County Election Office may be in the tank for Obama, but there will be other eyes watching them. With electronic voting it’s too easy to cheat. Let’s make them work hard for that cheat, if they have that in mind. My county has both the touch screen and the paper ballot. I always choose the paper. I was present once at a recount of the ballots, for my district. Glad democracy works some places. Let’s think about those mail in votes….
The first lady may not be elected but she is representative of the country and the President. Can a woman who laughs at a $600 rebate as being able to “maybe buy a pair of earrings” ever represent either. She doesn’t have to shop at Wal Mart but she needs to know better than that elitist comment. She has had it all handed to her on a platter. She didn’t get the high paying job at the hospital until her husband won the Senate election. What do you think the hospital was buying with that salary?
Elitist Democrats simply don’t care about US.
Elite USUALLY (but not always) equals RICH
The RICH rarely care about anyone but the RICH!
Some pretend to care and throw money at various groups then go back to their decadence (wow I spelled that correctly the first time) LOL
btw, do I sound JeaLOUS? nah
I just want to be able to pay the bills. That’s enough for me. Anything more would be a headache.
The problem is, Michelle Obama was one of the people who contributed to the horrible treatment of Hillary Clinton. The “I’ll have to think about supporting her because I don’t like her tone,” comments. So she is probably not the one they should use to try and “win” the womens voting bloc.
Obama played his part too, giving Hillary the finger, brushing off his shoulders, saying “she’s likable enough. Mocking her public service as First Lady. Then defiantly saying “I can win her votes, but she can’t win mine.”
The press continually blames Hillary for losing because she was “too arrogant.” But it was really the other way around. These people are very sore winners and are only trying to gain the women’s vote now because they are finally realizing they just might need these people after all.
But there is nothing they can say to get the women’s vote at this point. Nothing.
The fact that they are even asking is a complete insult after what we’ve witnessed. Do they think we are really that gullible. It would be laughable if it was so sickening.
never never never never never never never
Here is tidbit from NYTimes article on Nobama today. The article was about The One’s law school teaching. But there were some interesting things. Michele Obama loved the “Brady Bunch” TV series to death. So much so that she knows every episode by the first clips that are shown. It also stated that he has never published anything…other than his fictionalized books. He used his classes to fine tune his candidacy. He was an outsider. The article was a bit of a puff piece but there were alot of things in it that would have embarassed me if they were written about me.
I read that too, and it made me think he has been plotting this candidacy all along, and it made me wonder: Who really sent this guy?
I’m convinced this was in the works since 2003. The Dems knew they had to find a viable AA candidate with no record to be trashed by the Repubs. As BO has been paying supers for a couple of years, you know the leaders of the party were privy to making sure his coffers were full to execute those ‘donations.’
Actually, I don’t mind the Dems being wise about election plans, I just hate that once they saw that Hillary was going to take it, that the swing states were voting for her (somewhat due to Rev. Wright fallout and bittergate), that she kicked his ass in debates and on issues and the country saw that, that she was beating him bad even though he WAY outspent her, but more importantly, they saw the electorate voting for her even though they were told by the MSM that it wouldn’t matter, the die was cast. At that time, the Dems should have backed off of their plan and put the better candidate up as the nominee. I believe they will rue the day they stuck with their choice.
I agree with all of your points except the last one. I think they secretly rue their choice now. As is human nature, though, they’ll probably ride their error out before admitting they were wrong.
Hi Chicago Joe,
Have you read the (July 21st) New Yorker article “Making It” by Ryan Lizza? That’s the the writer Precious refused to allow on his magical mystery tour.
You aren’t the only person asking that question.
Now I know I don’t like her.
I hated the Brady Bunch.
I had 4 kids and was a working mother.
Those kids never got dirty, never complained about what was for dinner. The house was never messed up. Mom and Dad never wanted to pull their hai out over the kids.
To this day my daughters who are now grown and mothers themselves tease me about the Brady Bunch show.
Obama and his wife really have no grasp of reality.
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS AND BUBBAS RULE
helen — we are not privy to the Obama’s reality. They are carefully manufactured so that we never see their anger. But every once in a while it slips out. The hate they feel for this country and people of other races. I share your feelings about The Brady Bunch. It was too perfect and now we know why. In real life all the Brady’s were making it with each other. One of them was dating Florence Henderson.
As far as Michelle is concerned — she can try to wear a Jackie Kennedy flip but she is still no Jackie Kennedy.
I think there is something mentally wrong with obama.
He really does not see or care about America or her people of all races.
Have anyone ever seen a weirder campaign?
Does the new democratic party really think Americans are that stupid?
His handlers really don’t know much about America either.
Even Japan learned not to wake a sleeping giant.
The more these fools belittle half the American people the more they will lose in November
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS AND BUBBAS RULE
Helen ~
I have been saying this for a while. I do believe Obama has a psychiatric issue.
One doesn’t have to go very far to find evidence of such. Any person who is half white and sits through a sermon where half of himself, half of his own children and half of his entire family is that which they demonized, has issues.
And the issue really is ambition. I am more apt to think he was in that church at his wife’s suggestion. I believe that she really truly does wear the pants in that family and possibly the boxers at night.
snort
I think he is an opportunist, nothing too complicated. If someone offers him a deal he can’t refuse, he won’t refuse it.
And that is also called a crook.
helen — why do I not believe that a proponent of Black Liberation loved The Brady Bunch. If these people were real the campaign wouldn’t have to try so hard to make them seem like us.
True. Obama will have to slog along with just a 19 point lead over McCain among women, according to Quinnipiac, July 15 poll.
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x1295.xml?ReleaseID=1192
Course there’s this little detail….
As is usually the case, the outcome probably will be decided in the middle, among the independent voters, who are evenly split at this point.”
Given the thuglike tactics of the Obama people, I’m sure millions of women are saying they’ll vote for Obama, but will quietly vote for McCain on election day. Obama is gonna get creamed.
You know those numbers for women SUCK right? That both Gore and Kerry had a higher percentage and still lost.
But….but….but….she’s the ETHNIC JACKIE KENNEDY!!! WHY aren’t you IMPRESSED? She has the requisite hair-do, why, she even has a (talk about POOR taste and a pisspoor choice of clothing) pink suit–all she needs is a pillbox hat and a breathy, girlish voice!
What’s WRONG with you? Why aren’t you “onboard?” Why aren’t you “over it?” What are you, a bitter old “C” word and a “B” word to boot? Why, you MUST be, if you don’t think this Kool Aid tastes like fine wine, now!!!
I have to, in all seriousness, agree wholeheartedly with your last sentence. I don’t know a single Democratic woman who is planning on voting for the guy. They just can’t stand it, and that reporter, in a single sentence, summed up the reason why:
It is unforgivable.
And that is just one in the long line of complaints.
And don’t forget that many of these women watched the less experienced, less qualified male co worker doing the same job get paid more and get promoted ahead of them.
And what happened to Senator Hillary Clinton this primary when Obama, with less experience and doing a lousy job, was “promoted” over her by the Democratic party taking away the job she was entitled to by her win and giving it to the less qualified Obama before the voting had ended was a clear statement of chauvinism.
Nothing says second class citizen more forcefully than that regardless of color. This was that proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. You can’t atone for segregation by finding another group to segregate. This time women aren’t going to just “get over it” and they aren’t going to just forget. They want out of the back of the bus, too.
Wait. They told us to go to hell or stay home. I’m taking them totally at their word … well, insofar as voting for them is concerned. To HELL with my former party. PUMA.
I miss Flineo but I guess his job is done unless he is a PUMA — he could help make videos for JSND or the Denver group about an open convention and educating delegates at what is at stake.
i kept telling everyone i knew how this rezko thing wasn’t going away anytime soon. (they would say ‘who is rezko?’ a comedian (reporter)said he wouldn’t pick Senator Hillary to be vp because she brought up the rezko thing during the campaign. thought it very funny.
Obama/Rezko scam.. Rezko to Obama “Who’s your daddy?”
Taxpayers in America wake up, we’re next…
BO is a rat and he is trying to gnaw us down…
ALL of America will look like Chicago’s South Side if BO-RAT is elected…
That story (Rezko’s many failed buildings in Obama’s district and his $100 million in gov’t grants, coupled with his fundraising for BO) should be enough to disqualify BO for the presidency alone. It’s utterly disgraceful. His excuse: “I didn’t know.”
Well, why the hell didn’t he know what was going on in his own district? And he didn’t know even though he was closely associated with Rezko. You’re either lying or incompetent Obama, which is it?
Ask Oprah how she feels about The One treating people in her own city this way.
Jackie You are right. I have been a registered Democrat since l968 and after I voted for Hillary in my state’s primary I changed to Independent. For the first time I will not be voting for a Democrat President. I haven’t decided yet – to hold my nose and vote for McCain or just stay home. Hillary won my state’s primary but all of our elected officials (SD) went with Obama even after our Governor email me back and said he would go with whoever won our state. I am so disgusted with all of them.
you are NOT alone Sharon
not here
welcome to the blog of NOBAMA!!
My story is the same as yours. Please don’t stay home. That will only help this sick, sick Democratic(?) Party. Listening to McCain’s positions on energy (we have to do all of the above, conserve, solar/wind, drill) to get out of the grip of the Arabs, I won’t feel that my vote is lost. That alone, will work for me but I feel that he will be moderate and I absolutely do not believe he will give women the shaft.
annie carmel — When we vote for McCain this year we are voting to keep our Democracy in tact. The arrogant Mr. Obama loves himself so much however, he never discusses his core values because he knows that if he talked about Black Liberation Theology he would turn off what is left of the Democratic electorate. I want someone in the media to ask Obama how he feels about Black Liberation Theology and why are Black ministers all over the country worried that he will destroy the civil rights movement.
If you can’t vote for McCain, vote for Cynthia McKinney–she voted against the war. She’s a little crazy, well, maybe a lot crazy, and she won’t win, but that’s surely a PROTEST vote. You can vote for a woman, AND a black candidate.
Sure shuts up the accusers with their baseless charges of racism when you tell them you’re in Cynthia’s corner. It totally fucks up their argument. They’re all ready to POUNCE on you with that race card, and that choice leaves them blubbering.
When they say “WHY? WHY? She can’t win, you’re wasting your vote!” you just look ‘em in the eye and say “Hey, HO’s before BRO’s–how’s that shoe pinch on the other foot, asshole? Sisters are doing it for themselves, because you assholes can’t get it done!”
But don’t stay home–get out there and vote for ABB–anybody but Barack. We need to let them FEEL our anger.
LOL. I hit one of the teenagers who have taken over myDD with that one as a pre-emptive strike. It’s hard to call someone a racist if they plan to vote for a black woman. She’s a LOT crazy, and pretty militant to boot, but I do admire her backbone. She says exactly what she thinks, consequences be damned.
Please don’t stay home, vote for a third party. There are usually more than just Libertarians and Greens on the ballot. If you stay home you are counted as one of those who just doesn’t vote in elections but if you give a 3rd party your vote those votes are tabulated and the percentage shown with the Democratic and Republican tallies.
The more votes the third parties get, the stronger the statement against the Republican and Democratic parties. Perot’s 3rd party got so strong in 2000 that eventually they broke it up when smaller 3rd parties joined to make one larger Patriot party. That’s how Buchanan’s name got on the controversial ballot in Florida.
That is such a powerful video.
This article is why Hillary should be President.
And hopefully Hillary’s run will open the door for other women to run for office. That would be a terrific homage to Hillary.
Nominate Hillary or No Deal!
What is truly sad, not to mention, a great loss to our country is that we won’t see the likes of Hillary Rodham Clinton again for a long, long time.
If this amazing woman was not able to overcome the misogyny that has literally deprived our country of some of its best and brightest, then what woman can? What women would be willing to go through the hell Hillary went through just to complete the primary, which was her right to do considering how close the race was and the fact she won the popular vote.
Before any woman will have have any chance to be president (and I sincerely hope Hillary will try again in 2012), we have to rid this country of it’s rampant and engrained misogyny and sexism. I doubt America will ever have a woman president until we do.
One thing is for certain, once women are truly able to compete on an equal playing field, the preverbial bar will be raised significantly higher for the standards and qualifications required of those who do run for office.
It will be interesting to see if and how men will deal with a higher standard that does not afford them entitlement nor free passes and excuses for not measuring up.
You’re either lying or incompetent is the same question we have been asking Bush. I think the answer is the same for Obama and Bush. They are liars and incompetent.
yea he sounded like Gonzalez
Obama: duh I didn’t know?
Alberto: duh I don’t recall?
10 THOUSAND times (ok that’s an exaggeration)
I’m a woman, a woman who always thought of herself as a Democrat. I come from a Democratic family, have never thought of voting any other way, even when I was “slightly” queasy with a flawed candidate. Better than a Republican, I always thought. But then, I also thought we had a free press in this country, the sort of press that would tell the truth, present an unbiased view of the world and the electoral landscape. Because that’s what a free society demands and needs to thrive.
What a fool I’ve been! The Dems suck and the press is no better than a cheering leading squad.
I’m an Independent now, and I’m almost beginning to feel cleansed. And there’s no way in hell I’ll vote for this Democratic fraud. Not today, not tommorow, not ever.
Shame on them all!
PUMApac.org
Independence never felt so
CLEANGOOD!After 48 years as a democratic voter, this year I changed to Independent.
I love my country too much to belong to the new democratic party.
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS AND BUBBAS RULE
LOL!
We love the Bubbas over here.
Especially the Mountain Bubbas!
I hear ya….I’m in the same boat. Never voted for anyone but a Dem all my life. I really thought they meant it when they said they gave a shit about issues that were important to me. I gave them money, lots of it. I gave them TIME, time I should have spent with family. I worked my ass off for their candidates, dialing, walking, talking, stuffing envelopes, hanging little candidate packs on people’s doorknobs, chatting people up, driving them to the polls, collecting signatures to get Dems on the ballot, putting the box wine in the nice bottles at the intimate little house party fundraisers, shlepping around with the tray of hors d’ouvres–you name it. They asked, I was there, whenever I could be.
And boy, do I feel … USED. I feel fucked and dumped, frankly.
Well, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so I’ll keep in mind the advice of the former coke using politican with addiction, daddy and abandonment issues–the one who’s NOT running for the presidency this time…he said “Fooled me once, heheheheheheheheh….won’t git fooled agin!”
Wow, I think it feels worse. More like your whole LIFE of making love has turned into a feeling of “… … ” what you said!
lol
it’s like everyone you’ve EVER trusted has FK’d you w/out even kissing you~!
Marin is a great reporter.
RNC is saving this Rezko ad for close to November, I bet. In it they ask maybe Barack Obama just doesn’t read his hometown papers.
I too will vote for McCain and not for Obama, even though McCain is not a progressive. I love Marin’s article. She speaks for me.
wrong and wrong
McCain is more progressive than he admits.
Obama is more neocon than he admits.
Edwards was a cheat (apparently).
HILLARY was & is the only TRUE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE in 08.
The turning point (or last straw!) for me was FL and (especially) MI, not that a troll like you really cares for honest answers to it’s ?s.
Btw, I’m not voting for McCain. I live in a red state, so I won’t have to. I will write in Hillary or vote 3rd party. But be sure that if there is any chance BO can “take” my state, I will vote for a Repug for the 1st time in my life.
Thx for asking, now fuck off.
ditto about the red state thing
and you’re wearing one of my favorite stones!!
Topaz is beautiful stone, thx! I can’t find the post I was responding to. Weird.
Sorry, this was meant for a troll’s post.
Michelle Obama would only serve macaroni and cheese with arugula. She is really out of touch with American values.
ew that combo gives me indigestion just thinking about it! (snicker)
Good night Blog Sweepers!!
Actually I love both macaroni and cheese and arugula and buy organic whenever possible. Just don’t love Obama!
Thanks for turning us on to a real reporter. Sure wish we could have this gal report on the national level.
Here is Carol Marin in April 2007.
She is telling the back story of trying to get Obama to answer questions about Rezko. She is clearly frustrated when writing her column and ends with this:
So why all the gymnastics to avoid the conversation?
Especially for a candidate who is “open” and “transparent” and “different”?
Being boneheaded is not a crime.
But if it was, charge Obama with a second count.
http://preview.tinyurl.com/24lvwd
When they fixed it so that Obama would get the nomination the reason was they wanted a younger, hipper Democratic Party. One prominent Democrat said we are tired of dealing with the issues of the old and the poor. So Obama fits the bill. He is cold because he could care less about anyone’s struggles. He calls himself the anointed one in a Washington Post article today.
Women watched as an educated hard working woman with 35 years got shunted aside so they could make room for the vapid insincere self loving amateur. As a woman I will never change my mind about him. He is a useless fool who will weaken this country.
s. hall,
I suspect the DNC and Soros wanted someone who they could control and one who was not smarter than they!
Hillary could have turned this country around, but Soros and Brezinski have other plans. It has always been predicted that America would be brought down from the inside and I believe BO is the guy they knew who would open the door and welcome them in.
He’s so narcisstic and willing to do anything for power and prestige, he would gladly sell out America for his own and his handler’s self-interests.
Well, they are going to have to go through PUMA to do it. I’m sure, due to their sheer unadulterated arrogance, they never dreamed we would fight back instead of falling into line as we always do.
PUMA’s are Americans acting like Americans again!
DId you see the Ludacris video where he calls Hillary a “B”??????????
http://sweetness-light.com/archive/rapper-ludacris-obama-is-here-video
You know, Obama has already thrown Ludacris under the bus.
Jay Z must be snickering since he escaped that fate and it was the Obama CAMPAIGN who used his rap song to call Hillary a bitch in January after their thugs stole Iowa.
At last! The perfect VP candidate for Obama!
Democratic Follies
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVFvGeRrawY
When the Republicans went after Bill Clinton and spent millions of our tax dollars to try and impeach him, I swore then I’d NEVER vote for a Republican – ever! Well, now my own Party went after Hillary in exactly the same low-down way – no one defending her when sexist remarks were made, trying to drive her out of the race so an unqualified male could be the nominee, smearing her, slamming her, tearing her down every opportunity they got – some on national television, some behind her back, some in backroom deals.
Now, I’m saying never, never will I vote for a Democrat, especially THIS Democrat. This party needs to be taught a lesson. Right is right and what they did isn’t right.
Nobama – not today, not tomorrow – I’m not ready to play nice!
Beautifully put, I feel the same way. Add in Florida, Michigan, the ridiculous caucuses and the disproportionate awarding of delegates to some states and I’m done. Finished. Through.
I won’t vote for anyone who was compliant in the theft of an election and I can’t understand anyone who would. I just don’t get how that can be overlooked.
There is nothing he can say or do to make me change my mind, and that include Hillary as VP.
That’s where the DNC and the media continue to be so dense about this movement. Its not that we’re not “getting over” that she didn’t get the nomination, it’s that the nomination was “won” legitimately. Everything you mention from FL & MI to the caucuses. It was a sham. I cannot vote for an illegitmate candidate. I cannot reward that behavior with my support or even my vote.
sorry, the nomination WASN’T “won legitimately.
Exactly. If he had won legitimately, I would grit my teeth and put the sexism etc., we saw during the primary behind me and probably (it would hurt) vote for him. But outright cheating? I can’t do it.
The more I see of politics the more disgusted I get.
Why You Think Obama is Dangerous
It might be a subtle uneasy feeling…you’re not quite sure what it is about him, but you know something about Barack Obama is a bit, well, frightening. Dangerous, even.
It could be that you aren’t sure if he has socialist tendencies (witness his recent wild popularity in European countries with socialist leanings), or Muslim sympathies (he has received funds and endorsements from Muslim groups and even terrorists). The two are on opposite ends of the spectrum, so you don’t really know what to believe about Barack Obama.
You might think Obama is dangerous because he doesn’t seem to think before he speaks, unless it is a carefully crafted speech, of course, and those are often blatantly stolen from speeches of the past. When he does speak off the cuff, his remarks show his inexperience, like his comments about invading Pakistan, a country with nuclear weapons – and again after he has oft said he wants to pull out of Iraq. Where does he stand on war? Who truly knows, since he will never admit when he is wrong.

Dear Michelle:
I live in a predominantly black area that is relatively middle class and higher. The pride for which many of my neighbors take in their homes and lawns is wonderful to see. My neighbors understand what the American dream is about and work tirelessly to ensure their children have those opportunities.
About a mile or so away is a section 8 housing development–our version of a ghetto. Most of the occupants are black single mothers. Crime and abuse is rampant in this particular housing area and it is only a mile away from my neighborhood.
My children play sports with the kids from the housing area. These children are the most disrespectful, undisciplined, and unattended among all the kids that are drawn from various neighborhoods.
And yet, when speaking to them individually you find a different child altogether. Fear, Michelle, is a big factor in how black children are being raised these days in “common” America. When you’ve watched your mother being beaten or someone being shot right outside your door, you learn quickly that the world isn’t safe and then you learn to fear it.
Again, it is only a mile away.
Your husband’s campaign volunteers knock on all the doors in our neighborhood telling everyone that will listen that Obama is going to bring “hope and change”.
These kids don’t need ballet lessons or summer camp. They need someone to give a shit. They need someone that will help them learn how to ride a bike, put air in their tires when it’s low, read to them on a nightly basis, or just be at home to have dinner with them.
Yes, black women (like the rest of us) make poor choices sometimes when it comes to men. The people that pay that price are the children a mile away. Some of the mothers are attending college trying to advance themselves, but it is difficult when the enviroment they’re leaving the kids is so dangerous.
You haven’t known hell until you get a knock on your door and a child has been bloodied by a boyfriend. This happened last year to one of my kid’s friend. His crime? He was working on a school project and the boyfriend thought he was making too much noise. What did the mother do? She kicked him out, but he came back a month later.
If your husband wants to bring “hope and change” to my area, I suggest you both visit for a week and see what their lives are truly like. Don’t concentrate on the adults—watch the children.
To these kids, “hope and change” will come when Mom decides she’s had enough and furthers herself. However, the uphill struggle to improve your lot in life is made difficult when the only enviroment you can afford is dangerous.
Black women like yourself don’t need to inspire the rest of the world…you could start by inspiring the very children that will one day lead this country. Don’t give them a bunch of bullshit—they’re experts at sniffing out a smooth talker.
My point is the American dream for these young black children is literally a mile away. That gap needs to be closed by all Americans that are capable of helping.
With your condescending remarks, you further the gap.
Thank you, Republican Chick. Your words are profound, I wish Barry and his wife would read then and practice them. But I doubt they have the time.
That is a great letter although I think it will fall on deaf ears with the Obamas. They have no clue of reality – she learned from watching the Brady Bunch.
Gotta read that story in the New Yorker. Get past that cartoon and it tells how Obama worked his way and used and abused his way up the ladder.
It is a very good article.
The Obamas are a “team” – a team of arrogant fools! Every day they say or do something that shows who they really are or perhaps – “are not.”
Michelle Obama made terrible remarks during the primaries about Bill and Hillary. Now she’s trying to woo the women’s vote who voted for Hillary? Fat chance!
I just hope the democratic party wakes up and realizes what a “winner” they have in Hillary before it’s too late. Otherwise it’s McCain for me – the first time in my adult life that I will vote for a republican for president. I am now 60 years old.
Cathy in Ks-
I’m in Ks, too. as my husnand says”ditto”. What caucus were you subjected to?
There will be more stories from Carol Marin. She took on the mob bosses singlehandedly for years in Chicago, and has also been a prominent network anchor and TV reporter who has stood up publicly for journalistic integrity.
Flineo has some fantastic work on UTUBE.
This one in particular gives me chills.
Blackmailing women
“The Supreme Court,” said Wolff. “I think for most women when they walk into the voting booth, that will be the first thing on their minds.”
Keep women subservient by dangling Roe v. Wade over their heads. Call women on their phones and intimidate them with this threat. Plaster it everywhere you can. Make these maverick women fall in line with whatever it takes. With this one issue they think they will make women fall in line and fall down on their knees to adore Obama as they do.
That’s the Obama message for women. Do you buy it?
I don’t believe that Obama would do anything to protect ANY women’s rights, including RVW.
Obama must be defeated.
Choices are:
1. HRC
2. McCain
Obama – does not qualify.
PUMA.
I don’t buy the abortion-USSCourt line at all:
I think that pro-Hillary downticket Dems will do well this fall, and they will provide the first line of protection against new legislation cutting down abortion rights.
The USSC already has a majority of rightwingers on it, ready to cut down abortion anyway. They just haven’t had the right case yet.
Obama had to be stopped from voting for the arch rightwinger Roberts when he was being nominated as CJ of the USSC.
Obama actually disagrees with the core reason that the USSC originally protected women’s right to abortion, and has (on the record) denigrated women’s choices as giving in to ‘the blues.’ So for sure he’s not going to be there for women.
This is actually an area of state jurisdiction more than anything.
Most states have enough statutory protection for abortion even if the USSC finds a way to start chopping it down, and then there are all those state legislatures to think about.
And, maybe its time for ObamaSweeties to discover just how dangerous unthinking adulation of self-important men can be not just for women in general, but for their own sweet precious selves! I did my time on abortion issues (like my whole life), and if there are that many women who now think this is not a big deal (except when they are trying to browbeat Hillary supporters into voting for Obama), and if this is what they are willing to do to the DP notwithstanding the risks, then maybe this is the only way they will come to grips with the unchanged realities of gender hierarchies!!
PUMA!! We want Hillary!!!
Get a clue DNC! Obama is no Democrat!
When one has no remorse for stepping on the poor to buy oneself a little or a lot of suthin’ – there’s a BIG problem with that person’s character.
Un Coup,
Thank you for bringing this story forward again, and the video is fantastic. I would like to see the McCain campaign get into this one, or see some airplay on this. I can dream.
It’s criminal.
What Clinton Fan said.
I like the Green Party platform, anyway, so it’s not like it’s a hardship to vote for McKinney. Plus I’ve always liked her.
‘Course, my state is about guaranteed to be one of the five that I predict Obama will win so it doesn’t matter that much (except to register my protest). If you live in a swing state, though, your vote will be TWICE as valuable so you should absolutely consider voting McCain.
Either way, it’s very important not to stay home. Your vote is your voice.
Voting is a must, it matters regardless of what you have been told, by Brazille and company.
The Democratic Party will NEVER admit in public that they have “screwed up” royally with their new “KING”! Schism does not begin to describe it…I hope they get ripped in November!
the comments over at Daily Kos are just astounding. they rip Carol Marin,
call her a hack, an elitist, and one Chicago resident posts the name of the street on which she lives and in which neighborhood. and he uses
his real name to do the post.
carol marin is a treasure. the Obama maniacs posting nasty things about her are trash.
The idiot at Kos who reported where she lives is Randall Sherman. This is what he said and his email address & “title” follow. Why don’t we let him know what we think of him putting Carol Marin in danger? (she should also be warned..).
“Never trust a columnist who lives on a street named for a Presidential loser.”
Ms. Marin and her family reside on Fremont Street in Chicago’s tony Lincoln Park neighborhood (Fremont Street having been named for John Fremont, the first Republican Presidential candidate, who lost the 1856 election to James Buchanan).

“As far as Michelle is concerned — she can try to wear a Jackie Kennedy flip but she is still no Jackie Kennedy.”
Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis was a first class lady, attractive, intelligent, and cultivated, and elegant. She protect Caroline from the press during the campaign, and both Caroline & John when in the Whitehouse and even protected them till her dying last breath.
She would have never let her children be in a church where Rev. Wright would have spewed his hate, nor let them be interviewed by any reporter.
Michele “amazon-bama”, you are NO JACKIE KENNEDY!!
PUMA
I have been registered Independent since 1990, when I let go of the side of the swimming pool..
both parties use the USA to their benefit, rather than the other way around.
That said, Obama is a slime bag and this video should be # 1 on the Repubs play list.
Speaking of Michelle, has anyone watching Big Brother noticed the uncanny resemblance of Libra, the black houseguest to Michelle? She is a deadringer for Michelle! It is hilarious to see the resemblances! Libra said at the onset of the series that she was a HUGE Barack fan so maybe she gets the resemblances also…then again, she’s black so go figure, right? Check it out on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Do it soon before she’s booted out; everyone secretly despises her. Art imitating life…?
To all of us Clinton supporters never forget that what Obama’s thugs have done is to bring down the Democratic party that we have all supported for decades. Do not stay home in November, as painful and unfair it is we must vote McCain. These two are ‘hopelessly aloof” because they have so much to hide, if anyone gets too close they will self destruct. That the American media(actually they don’t even deserve the title “American”) was complicit in this takeover of the Party makes it possible the greatest example of what is in store if BO ever gets the presidency. Mechelle and B have spent their wehole lives to get where they are and look down on others, they’ll never eat or serve macarone and cheese, “as God as my witness, I’ll never be hungry again.”
Great video. Stark reminder of Sen.Obama’s lack of
attention to own district’s needs. He was too busy
“climbing” and amassing connections to power his rise
to care. Do I think he’ll protect women’s right’s?
I think he says what he believes will get him the
most votes. If the tides turn against his stated position, so will he.
This reaction by the Obama campaign to Ludacris’s
despicable rap lyrics shows a disconnect with regard
to Sen. Clinton. She IS different from Jessie Jackson, Sen. McCain, or Pres. Bush. With wink and nod rebuke, once again Obama sought to have it both ways. Clinton supporters, independents are not stu-
pid, this and more will be taken into account come
November!
Incredible video!
It’s hard to resist- this blog entry should have been titled “Size Matters”
Beautifully written story, UN COUP DE DES….
EXCELLENT!
Obama a “newfangled commodity” the insidious glow emanating from the patriarchal blandishment…” this is truly poetry in motion.
WELL WRITEN! Thank you and Carol Marin for having the true journalistic ‘eye’, the one that would not have embarrassed Edward R. Murrow!
Obama is a rapper-wannabe and his affliction is “obamegalomania” which really makes him a very sick man and this time this not-too-robust country needs healthy, robust, character-and-judgment-driven leadership. And where is Hillary Clinton when we need her?…Thanks to Barry’s misogynist media frat-boy buddies, she was bashed just like Sen.Alice Palmer in ‘96 in Chicago.
Beware of this thugster!

Go Pumas, roar!
Please see VIDEO BY HRCin08:
“These boots are made for walking….”
Excellent!
She also has one on “Buying Superdelegates” where Obama purchases these morons like Paul Tsongas with a few thousand bucks of your money!
Vote McKinney in states where The ThugObama may win;
Vote McCain in SWING states…for your votes to count!
