Obama’s excellent adventures have now ended. He visited the troops in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan, with a little basketball thrown in. He has wowed and wooed “200,000″ people at a free concert in Germany. We had to “jack the bus” up higher as Obama “threw” the injured troops from Ramstein and Landstuhl under the bus with us. He pretended to be president in London when he said “I have committed more troops to Afghanistan”. Skip the beginning, go to 4:26, his words are quite obvious.

He schmoozed Sarkozy in France and renegotiated some treaties. According to Sean Carman, Senator Barack Obama announced today that on his recent overseas tour he successfully negotiated a wide-ranging treaty with America’s European allies. Logan Act violations anyone?
Maureen Dowd of the New York Times in her op-ed piece Cyclops and Cunning chatted with Obama about gifts for his girls and Foreign Heads of States. It turns out Obama has a key chain and snow globe aide to get gifts for his girls.
She asked about those blue boxes with the ribbons that “body man”, Reggie Love, was toting for heads of state. Obama said this about those boxes:
“I was not well organized enough to personally think of what presents to give these guys,” Obama said. “Hopefully, should I end up being president, I can put my touch on the present thing. But I didn’t even know it was a custom to give presents other than state visits.”

I don’t think Obama is being used with the expectation he’ll be elected president. Just being used to be sure an FDR-type person is not. My take is that’s just fine with Karl Rove, though I doubt he’s the main man behind it. PUMAs aren’t going to follow Hillary into supporting Obama. Obama’s not going to be president. Who is? Just horrible.” He was then led away by aides who reiterated their demand that Obama consent to a series of town hall meetings.”

Hello Ted. I really wish you would stop trying to imply everyone else is uninformed and fails to understand fully what is Truth. In Iraq, the candidate spoke with Maliki on certain issues involving the timetable for the reduction of troops in Iraq. Then against established protocol, he discussed his meeting with the press and repeated what the leader of another country told him. He did this for purely political reasons. In this instance, we don’t know if damage was done, but it could do so under other circumstances. He was there as part of a congressional delegation and none of the others made any statement about their conversation with another head of state. The Logan Act was violated there and he will no doubt get away with it since the media has no interest in pointing out his follies.
Well, Malakai spoke to the German press about the issue, I do recall that.
And, if you take the time to brush up on the Logan Act, you will see it does not apply to US Senators. A bit of recent court opinion on the subject via wiki:

I haven’t seen anything about that, but on Oct. 16,2007 Obama sent an email on behalf of Al Sammarae, the man convicted of fraud in Iraq as former minister of electricity. He was in jail in the Green Zone in jail when his son faxed a request to Obama. AlSammarae later escaped and made his way to Chicago and is living there. No idea why he hasn’t been arrested.

Kelly, My only objective is to correct the most blatant mistakes here. I know most people here won’t vote for Obama, and that’s fine. I’m just trying to correct some of the misconceptions and myths qbout himn that are perpetuated.
In general, I do not insult people. I get insulted all the time; I’d say on average each of my posts generates a couple of personal attacks. But I generally don’t reciprocate. Not worth it.

There is an obvious, growing sickness in this man that has been seen before in people who get so hungry for position and power that they lose all sense of reason. They usually self-destruct. To be serious for a second, I thought the criticism of Obama’s trip was misplaced. He’s a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party. There’s nothing presumptuous in his taking a trip overseas to introduce himself to the world’s leaders and learn a little bit about the complex problems he might face as Commander in Chief.
