The Selma, Al. speech had to have been effort for him given he has never lived in the South. The drawl is common to both races and is entirely different from Northern States. MLK is a perfect example. Even when he raised his voice in speeches, you could hear that soft southern part underneath. His voice was so powerful, it mesmerized. Obama has stolen a lot from that great, dignified man, but no matter how he tries, he can't duplicate the timbre of his voice. In my memory, MLK never mocked anyone. Glad you mentioned that.
