Can you believe this?

OBAMA HANGS PELOSI OUT TO DRY; HIS LIBERAL AND NETROOTS SUPPORTERS ARE CONFUSED AND UPSET.
Here are two reports, from the A.P. and from Jennifer Rubin of Commentary Magazine:
Obama shifts, says he may back offshore drilling
By MIKE GLOVER, Associated Press Writer2 hours, 50 minutes agoDemocratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Friday he would be willing to support limited additional offshore oil drilling if that’s what it takes to enact a comprehensive policy to foster fuel-efficient autos and develop alternate energy sources.
Shifting from his previous opposition to expanded offshore drilling, the Illinois senator told a Florida newspaper he could get behind a compromise with Republicans and oil companies to prevent gridlock over energy. …. Read all.
From Jennifer Rubin, the sharp columnist for Commentary, in her story, “A Week Late“:
[...]
In a Florida newspaper interview he explained that he really had no objection to offshore drilling:
If it is part of an overarching package, then I am not going to be rigid in preventing an energy package that goes forward that is really thoughtful and is going to really solve the problem.
The report continues:
And what I’ve also said is, if people are expecting short-term relief because of offshore drilling, then they’re not going to find it because we won’t see a drop of oil for at least a decade.” Still, Obama’s willingness to go along with any new drilling off the U.S. coast is a marked shift from his previous statements. Earlier this summer, Obama sought to distinguish himself from GOP rival Sen. John McCain, who wants to lift a moratorium on offshore drilling.
There you go. The most important thing to remember about Obama? There is never a bottom line. On anything. He has a very low threshold for conflict with his base (or a very low tolerance for weathering politcal turbulence). So with enough time and enough political pressure he is likely to shift gears on just about anything. (The shifts always go in the direction of popular opinion, of course.) That’s why it was not hard to see this coming.
For people who are basing their votes on candidates’ positions on issues, they should be forewarned. Obama doesn’t really have any. Rather than positions, he has “pauses” along the political road where he briefly rests, makes speeches, and gains applause before one particular crowd and then moves on to the next position, effortlessly denying that anything different preceded it. And on he travels. The notion that he believes in any set agenda or fixed principles is, the words of Bill Clinton, a “fairytale.”

I totally believe it. Flippity floppity florp!
flibbertygibbit
Let’s see if he doesn’t try a photo op on an offshore drilling rig next.
Maybe he’ll flop off it (after he flips it off)…
No for O — Obama started out selling Hope — now he’s selling Audacity.
WAIT!!!
I’m confused!
First, I’m a complete, utter progressive..blogging the good fight under the Shrub.
Then, a beacon of light that is Hillary gets trounced by LIES and RACEBAITING by a fellow “democrat”.
Then, I start agreeing with REPUBLICANS
Then a democrat starts taking republican stances.
(I’ll admit, I’m actually agreeing with the opened oil drilling though..we have to do SOMETHING in the interim, waiting for all of those magical alternative fuels).
My God, the world is ending!!!
Hey, wake up america! We were just fine until the dems in congress , got in bed with subprime mtg companies,,,and made the economy go south,,just in time for their campaign!!!
Im sick of them manipulating us..

OP-ED
We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.
Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.
The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.
The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.
Those same leaders who were in the streets in the ’60s are very powerful today in their work to bring down the Iraq war and to attack our president, and they have found their way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.
Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who they are and what they must do to protect our freedom and our democracy. And we have the leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope and stability to Iraq and prevented the terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we’ve almost forgotten who we are and what is at stake.
If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over that country to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there’s not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.
Gen. Wesley Clark, who himself has shame upon him, having been relieved of his command, has done their bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.
This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.

Well it certainly has gone topsy turvy recently.
(the world that is)
Quick! Someone alert MoveOn…heh.
http://alegrescorner.soapblox.net/showDiary.do?diaryId=438
This is so beautiful! Obama’s supporters stick out their neck for him – and oops, they are a step behind. How it serves them right!
I don’t feel MoveOn’s pain. They deserve this one.
Obama threw them under the bus.
Obama’s shift on oil was so sudden that a pro-Obama group is still running ads here in Colorado slamming McCain for supporting off-shore drilling. They really should check with the Obama campaign hourly to see what the current party line is on any given issue.
Oopsie. Some Obamatron forgot to check in with HQ.
Good One!! Masslib
Oh, now that IS funny. In that rich, multi-layered “Oh, you insufferable ASSHOLE” kind of way!
Especially since the guy who is “lecturing” The Ancient Mariner about his energy policy is being such a self-righteous, didactic, whining and pissy little shit about it.
We can’t say POT CALL KETTLE, because someone will say that’s racist, to call the cooking implements black!
When MOVE ON moved away from “Issue Advocacy” and decided to endorse the Anointed One, in the middle of the damn primary, that is when I “moved on” from MOVE ON.
They’re stupid. They are tools. They don’t deserve a penny from me, or a moment of my time. They’ve gone to FONZIELAND, and jumped that shark!
Fuck ‘em. Apparently they can’t take a joke, but they sure can be the butt of one, the buffoons!
It was just a matter of time. Obama has never met a position he didn’t like or dislike. Offshore drilling must be polling well now. He is a hopeless panderer.
I surmise that the tire inflation routine went over like a pregnant woman on a polevault.
HA HA!!! Great metaphor!
I was driving down the road today listening to the radio and when they played that quote from Obama about how maintaining proper tire pressure would save us as much oil as we could be getting from offshore drilling, I almost had to pull the car over because I was laughing so hard. I have known for a long time now that Barack Obama was a consummate bullshit artist, but now I’m starting to believe that he’s delusional as well. Either that or he’s an out & out moron.
Thanks, Democrats. You sure picked a real doozy this time! It’s George McGovern in 1972 all over again.
I think he is an outright moron….not very smart either. I am still miffed he saw dead veterans in the crowd during his Memorial Day Speech….delusional too!
The “I See Dead People” candidate!
It’s George McGovern in 1972 all over again.
Yep – if we had to write an algebraic equation for this it would be:
Obama 08 = McGovern 72 – MA
yes it was IIRC 75% for recently….
over a million signed the Drill Here Drill Now petition
disgusted — Obama is desperate — he is losing his edge. The more he flips the more he flops.
As many have said Obama is a one man wrecking crew against himself.
Obama’s Rule No. 1: Flip, then Flop
He was for flopping before he was for flipping. Then he was against it, but he flip flopped. And then decided he was for it. Now he doesn’t know whether to flip his waffles or waffle in flop sweat…
“This flip is not the flop I knew…”
Perhaps he just gets up everyday and flips a coin.
I can see him consulting the Magic 8-Ball.
Oops-watch out-the eight ball has that special color that no one can talk about.
That would explain his blue lips. That or raspberry popsicles.
Because he doesn’t know enough about anything to have a well thought out view. He shoots from the hip- “Yes We Can” but underneath it all he is clueless. The DNC should be utterly and completely ashamed of themselves for supporting such a weak candidate. Hillary may not be perfect, but she has her act together on so many of the issues.
I think it is time we started callin BO Jethro….
Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin’ at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin’ crude.
Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.
Yes, do you recall the episode when Jethro couldn’t decide his career choice between Brain Surgeon or Fry Cook? Maybe it’s time for Barack to consider another line of work.
And who can forget Uncle Jed’s advice to young Jethro:
“Don’t talk so much when you meet folk, son. Just smile a lot.”
The age old wisdom of the hills…
Nothing he does surprises me anymore. Maybe he’s trying to show people he’s flexible on the issues? I don’t even try to guess what he’s doing anymore, because I think Hagel is the one feeding him on what to do and say. I don’t think we’ll ever see the real Obama unless he gets elected, then who knows what his real agenda will be.
There is no chance Americans want to see the real Obama. The faux is bad enough.
Obama will take two positions on every single issue. Obama has no prinicples. This guy is a piece of shit… I just can’t believe how anyone with a half brain would support this shameless idoit.
OBAMA = WORTHLESS.
I agree with jjran
Obviously he is not demonstrating leadership. But Obama likes change so let’s prepare to change our opinions everyday along with Obama if we want him for president.
President Obama will shift to whatever side is popular.
Talk about CHARACTER and CONVICTION.
Obama is a character who should be convicted.
Obama only cares about winning. He does not have a core. He does not have political principles that are personal and important to him. He does not have standards.
It’s all about winning. He literally will do an say anything to win.
and say** (oops)
Anyway, Obama isn’t kust a flip flopper, he is a two faced liar.
There’s NOTHING there. He’ll do whatever the polls say; he’ll do whatever he needs to do to win.
Why would someone be so ruthless about winning. WHY is the goal winning and not sticking to standards?
What’s BIG plan?
kust = just
Dang it.
Agreed. Obama does not care about this country, it is all about him.
This is typical behavior for a major flip-flopper like BO.
How to choose your direction:
Stick finger in mouth to wet.
Thrust finger into the air.
Which side feels colder?
Maybe BO is using his middle finger to choose his path.
Bill Clinton sure did have his number…guess that’s why he is one the Great Democratic Presidents. I sure miss the Clinton years…and look forward to a Clinton in the White House again…2012 It really is impossible to really know what Obama stands for..guess nothing..
It is time for the Clinton’s to demonstrate leadership and walk away from Obama. Both of them have tolerated too much crap out of Obama. Let the man rot in his ego.
O-O-O-O-Oh no; it’s not for the Clintons to do. It’s time for the Super Delegates and the DNC to walk away from this trainwreck of a candidate.
He had his number and I have also read that the Clintons sincerely believed a long time ago that BO couldn’t win.
I think that Bill’s detailed strategic political assessments have usually been on target throughout the years, so I’m hoping that they know even more than we do about the demographics and statistics of this debacle.
Yeah Bill Clinton got a raw deal from the press and his own party. (and Hillary ten times so). I live for the day that the Clintons ride back into town triumphant. Truth always wins in the end, and some day everyone will know what we all know — both Clintons represent what this country truly is about: smart, resourceful, generous, progressive, and NOT racist.
He’s gonna need a bigger bus.
PUMA.
I envision two Americas with Obama — half of the population will be under the bus while the other half of the population will be his advisors.
LOL….Paid with reparations funding perhaps ?
Yes, which is pretty much Germany, 1939. Scarey enough?
we will remember in November–I want my own bus. I am not going to be under the same bus with Nancy Pelosi. I do have my standards.
LOL…Tap Dancin Jesus & I moved to the Depot when Ludacris Shoved his way in….Fresh Air over here…I’m just sayin
Axelrod has been seen scouting for a landfill. Under the bus is getting too crowded.
yeah Kenya takes a lot of room and I don’t want to be there with ODinga. No telling what he might do.
I would have been amazed if he hadn’t – she’s a white woman right? Under that make-up or mask or whatever?
I don’t think that she’s really Michael Jackson or Jimmy Hoffa.
The wheels on the bus roll over her mannequin head.
Can Fooloshit still do her very important job from under the bus?
this is her BIG THING, she said she was blocking a floor vote on drilling to SAVE THE PLANET and she shut down Congress today leaving for 5 week vacation, when the GOP members stayed and kept talking she had the cameras turned off to cspan and shut off the lights
then HOURS later it comes out that Obummer is FOR Drilling??
the GOP will beat Nancy with this foreverrrrr
BWAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAA
If Pelosi squawks about Obama then she gets labeled as a racist like the rest of us.
LOL let her squark not she knows the grass is not always greener on the other side…
OMG spelling
let her squawk, now she knows the grass is not always greener on the other side…
It’s ok, I kind of like “squark”.
“It’s the end of the world as she knows it..” (and I feel fine)
B-b-but, Nancy wants to SAVE the PLANET!!!!!!
LEAVE NANCY ALONE!
This is too priceless! After yesterday’s drama,
Nancy’s gaveling, shutting down the vote, turning out the lights, switching off the microphones and cameras and then the Repub revolution on the House floor, the cheering, the tourists allowed into the audience, even a pack of boyscouts witnessing the spectacle, the press coverage. . .
Bet Nancy’s not enjoying her vacation, much.
He has the whole issue bassackward, so to speak. We need to get a handle on gas prices in the short run, which the tax holiday he opposed and releasing oil from the strategic reserves would have done. The sudden run up is too much of a shock to our economy and is driving inflation (along with the decline in the dollar which makes imports more expensive). But in the long run, low gas prices will just make people return to their gas guzzling ways like they did in the 80’s. Drilling offshore will do nothing in the short run which is when we need the relief.
Just out of curiosity, why the proposal to allow drilling in the Gulf, off Fla, Va and the Carolinas if the states approve, but not California? If it is up to the people in those state, why exempt them? Makes no sense to me….Anyone know the answer?
Maybe becuz Pelosi is from CA?
Didn’t think of that, but it makes sense.
Maybe due to Pelosi and/or his rich friends in SF?
The key operating word is ‘everything’! We have passed the point when we can pick and choose over drilling.
If we don’t drill, the USA bleeds out her money to the Arabs and Chavez. What a brilliant idea.
McCain has it right. Short term, long term solutions for the oil problem and big time incentives to change to alternatives.
The lift on the ban will lower the price on the stock market right away. The flow of oil will keep it down.
By now everybody knows, we have to change to renewables. Those who don’t care about the environment, will care about their wallet. If they have a choice between a zero emmission car and a guzzler for about the same price, guess what will they choose!
There is no need for the drilling because of the existence of plenty of secure, readily available petrochemicals. The world is awash in oil. The issue is not the availability of oil, it is the mechanisms that are being used to determine the price. On availability, read up on Alberta’s tar sands (now) or the Bakken play (future). Heck, Petrobras made a discovery off their coast in February that is said to be between Venezuela and Nigeria’s reserves.
The oil companies are baiting you because their share of the world’s oil is continuing to decline as nations choose to use national companies, such as Statoil in Norway or Petrobras in Brazil.
Drilling offshore will lower the prices even before they get any oil out because the price of oil is bid on the future.
But how far in the future? Since the payoff is quite a few years off and people in the futures market should understand that(unlike the general public who get spun by the propaganda), will it have an effect? My impression is that the futures market is not betting on the price ten or twenty years out. On the other hand just the fact that we are taking action could have an effect psychologically on the speculators????
Don’t buy it Bernie… It wouldn’t take long at all in the Gulf….I’m not a big fan of the idea but I do see the geo-political sense of it. It may be the best short term solution…still mugwamping on it. But the Gulf is more than ready and Mexico does not want us expanding in the gulf.
McCain will win on this issue and the economy. No one wants to hear you’re going to raise their taxes.
Maybe we need to learn Chinese if we live in Florida. The great Red machine will be taking oil within shouting distance of our southern shores. But we can’t touch it right Nance? Let’s give it to other countries especially ones who will use the trillions of our dollars they stashed away in bad (for us) trade policies to pay for it. Nice gig if you can get it. Who are the stupid ones here? Dem congress has done nothing to change this stuff with their majority. Hard to comprehend why. We all elected them to change the failed Repubs policies. A snotty, ego driven decision by you Nance, that has little to do with helping our country and all to do with saving your plastic face, has the possibility of turning this country into an also ran. Yikes! I’m glad OB tossed her. She deserves it.
Bernie, I agree about the lower gas prices. Hillary spoke on this last week and expressed the thinking of a lot of people. Trading in oil has been profitable the last few months and it just seems more than a coincidence this is happening just before the election. I will not side with Republicans on this issue. A majority of Americans opposed off shore drilling until the price of gas went above $4/gal. and it sounds like manipulation to me. Just like the rise in natural gas prices a few years ago in Ca. Inflating the air in tires, as suggested by Obama, will work for the manufacturers of tires and no one else. It also proves Obama is a phony and has no integrity.
Because the Chinese are going to be drilling for Cuba in the area near Florida and they want to drill nearer to the US? Just a thought ….
That is an interesting parallel to the other big southern body of water…The Gulf. Mexico is expanding drilling…and don’t want the US to expand anymore. China sees nothin wrong with over fishin just outside any country’s water boundaries….Makes sense
Maybe because he’s behind and sinking in FL and NC which were supposed to be Bambi states, but he still has a 10 pt. lead in CA (down from 30 less than two months ago) where they don’t care about oil or jobs?
Because Californians won’t allow it, no way! Hey folks, the California Sea Otter lives in those waters and the coast line is enough to make you cry it’s so beauty. There are enough nutty Californians who will tie themselves to trees and rocks, that it would be an ugly fight that the pro-drillers would most likely lose. So why go there, when it’s easy to convince the southern states to give up their beauty. <- The real question is, what’s up with THEM?
Where are you going with this, and what’s with the handbasket?

Oh you don’t want to go there. California has been punished for years for their success in beating the the plans for more offshore drilling there. The gas prices there are higher than any in the country. There are already plenty of oil rigs there already.
Pelosi now joins a few thousand others under the bus.
pelosi is so dumb. she’ll climb from under the bus and carry on like nothing happned. desperate people do desperate things.
I wouldn’t say she is dumb, but she is politically calculating so she you are right that she will probably carry on like nothing happened. Did you see her on the Daily Show the other night? I was pleasantly surprised because she seemed a little less scripted than usual. She was on the money about domestic surveillance and offshore drilling. (But she really needs to lay off the Botox.)
http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=177587&title=nancy-pelosi
hahahaha … good one
I think the bus could bounce off her face and she wouldn’t feel it ….
eww. She has her own bus to get under, she can ask her bud Penny P. for another loan.
Can You Believe this?
YES WE CAN!
The Messiah believes that no position is incompatible with each other!
Suprise! Is anyone fooled by anything Obama does? All he does is trip over himself. Have people had enough of this guy yet?
Obama the Rubber Man—bounces from one position to another.
I actually wonder if Obama actually knows where he stands on a postion anymroe.
OGumby
so who is pokey?
Since Rev. Wright was a true horse’s ass, we could pass him off as Pokey.
Don’t they make a great couple together?
The Rubberband Man!

Is is just me or are the trolls quiet? I had one relentless troll on my site for a week – then she disappeared. Guess the checks didn’t clear.
They are confused.
The updates on positions are coming to their in-boxes so rapidly that they can’t keep up. They don’t know what is the latest opinion to support.
The Obama zombies wanted change and that is what they are getting, and it is coming faster than anyone can keep up with. Yesterday another pound of air pressure in the tires was the solution and today it is more drilling — that is a staggering leap.
How can they defend this shit? It’s …. impossible.
He’s turning into George Bush right before their “YOU’RE a RACIST, and I’m NOT!!” asses!
They’ve bought themselves a pig in a poke, and when they looked into the sack, ’twasn’t a pig atall, it was a shaved cat! Try having THAT for dinner!
The trolls’ first commandment is when they are in doubt or confused as to how to argue issues, to just scream that all of us infidels and apostates to the Messiah’s jihad are simply crazy and a bunch of racists.
BernieO California’s Governor does not want offshore drilling.
Remember most felt it should be up to each state.
Yeah well, now that new poll numbers show a slight majority in CA are in favor of drilling, the Terminator will be switching his own opinion soon too. Just you wait.
You’re right about that Sugar! I live in California and Arnold is the whale of flip floppers!
Or … flop flippers?
Yes but that is what they are proposing – allow the drilling if the state wants it. So if they don’t it is a no go. I guess that is what confuses me. I guess it is just the idea of lowering the bar for a state that is really not in favor of drilling. My guess is that Va and the Carolinas are not seriously opposed.
But what about Florida? It could do some serious damage there and what about ANWAR? Should Alaska be allowed to make a decision that is purely economics in spite of the effect on that ecosystem and long term damage to the enviroment. That land was set aside as a wildlife preserve so are we just to set aside all public lands and keep drilling until everything is so screwed up we will never be able to set it right. “They paved paradise and put up a parking lot”?
I hope they get that crazy Sarah Palin out of office, if they ever leave it up to the states to decide, because she’d bulldoze the whole GD park. I look at her eyes and see $$ in them. I love a woman governor, and she is feisty. Alaska drained the North Shore. And all that oil goes to Japan, anyway. They made a bundle up there, but they were greedy and reckless. Open up even a postage stamp size spot compared to a football field, as they say, and they’ll ruin the whole place. I feel it is important to keep that.
I’m from WV, and during Bush’s first term, the Clean Water Act was modified to allow for strip mining. Because that blown up mountain is left to fill streams and waterways. The state now has the highest cancer rate in the country. The mountains there are some of the oldest on the earth. During the Ice Age, plants that no longer grow anywhere else were pushed to this above sea level area and still grow to this day.
Those are wildlife preserves, too. ANWR is not just pastureland for reindeer. It is a rare and necessary biodiverse landscape like the Amazonian Basin or a few other spots. Sarah Palin is driven by greed and nothing else, if she would allow oil companies to destroy ANWR.
God, I’m lovin’ it. All those rich San Francisco liberals who thought they found their New Age guru. I wonder how they feel about Barky now, when he wants to put oil rigs in plain view of their million dollar condos. Swwweeeeet.
lol
Notice the 50 miles out condition for Florida? That means you won’t see it. I really do not know much about the risks of this. All I know is that back in the 80’s we took our kids to the beach in Texas. You couldn’t see any oil rigs, but you had to wash the black tar off of your feet before going back into the hotel. Has the technology improved or is that still the way it is?
I lived in California, we grew up with the icky goo and the derricks.
Just to be clear, that was me upthread. I had to use foxfire for a while and forgot to check my moniker. Oooops.
Yes the technology and safety has greatly improved. There was a bad spill off Santa barbara in the late 70’s, and there has not been a derek related spill since.
Of all the oil spills worldwide, drilling and dereks account for 1%. Transportation of oil is the biggest risk and accounts for the majority of spills.
But as far as I know there had been no spill. This was just “normal”. StrawberrybitesBarky’s comment (above) seems to confirm my impression that this is what beaches are like if you have offshore drilling. Has that changed?
I saw satellite photos of the massive oil slick after Katrina. Anyone here about it in the MSM?
I did not.
I saw satellite photos of the massive oil slick after Katrina. Anyone here about it in the MSM?
I did not.
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin’ hot spot
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you got till it’s gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
They took all the trees and put ‘em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you got till it’s gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot
Hey farmer, farmer, put away your DDT
I don’t care about spots on my apples
Leave me the birds and the bees
Please
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you got till it’s gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Hey now, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot
Why not?
We used to call Huntington Beach, Tar Beach.
You may not see it, but you will see the damage. And what about hurricanes? A couple of cat. fives might put us in a worse position. Why the urgency now? It will take years before that can be set up. It’s expensive for oil companies so we will end up paying the price anyway. They are talking about taking the oil from shell in Colorado, but they will have to dig into the mountains to get it and the cost there is prohibitive. I’m just hearing the drums beating constantly on this and it reminds me of Iraq. Pay attention this time everyone and don’t look for easy answers.
The country’s mind set on environmental issues is stuck in the 70’s. And both sides want to keep it that way. The far left because they want to scare us. The far right because they don’t want to spend money on more advance pollution control and regulations. The bottom line is our knowledge base and technology has expanded greatly over the last 35 years. Our universities and colleges have turned out amazing engineers and scientists in the fields of environmental science and public health over the last few decades. We can do everything better, cleaner, safer. But all these professionals (and I am one of them) are crippled by politics. Politics of fear. Politics of the dollar. Think of this- about 15% of our electricity comes from nuclear plants. Those plants are over 40 years old. Most of us wouldn’t feel safe riding in a car that’s 40 years old, but are using engineering designs and technology from the 50’s and 60’s for NUCLEAR energy!
BO will outBush Bush on every issue. They are congruent forms.
I can’t say it enough– even for people that intensely dislike Bush, comparing Obama to him is extremely disrespectful to Bush.
I agree, Bush is looking better everyday.
I will never compare the two.
They are both Satan’s demon spawns.
I refuse to let 0bama to make me forget this. For all I know, the Obama phenomenon could be a shrewd move on Karl Rove’s part to clean up Bush’s legacy.
Bush is still Bush!
And 0bama is a catastrophe in his own right.
Stunning. Obama bends to whatever the direction the wind blows. Even he sees the Democratic energy position is a nonstarter and loser–no drilling, no nuclear, no coal, no nothings until alternatives kick in.
Flexibility, huh?
Now I want to see Democratic supporters do a tap dance to this, explain it, apologize and finesse the position. I bet the rats are in an absolute frenzy. Guess the next one to go is Obama’s firm dictate on the Surge and the Iraqi Awakening. What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Another “boneheaded” position in a long series of boneheaded opinions. The surge will be the next topic to wiggle and wobble on and then say but we “always” held this position. You people weren’t listening carefully.
Barack’s fatal mistake. We were listening. And there’s video/audio to back it up.
Incredible!
Why are we questioning where Obama stands? Isn’t that racist?
In Obamaland it is and that is how he will heal the nation — call us all racist if we don’t worship him.
You STILL have to crack the Crude, and our refining capacity is so bad that we’re buying refined no-lead from overseas. What big oil really wants, IMO, is a relaxation of the standards for clean air, safety and environmental damage from refinery ops.
However, it might well take less time to put new solar and wind power plants on line than to build more refineries. There’s a big honker (1 mile x 1.5 miles) of a solar plant S of me in Boulder City, NV, that was done very quickly – financing/ownership by a Spanish company – and I do believe that it’s feeding the grid now.
I don’t think it would be that ridiculous to maybe simplify the number of required grades to refine, but I think the true bottom line is there’s no money in refining right now– the price pressure is just too tight and everyone downstream from the wells are pressed to the limit.
In any case, pressure either way does what it’s meant to. More oil on line will lower crude prices, give refiners more margin, and speculators less ability to bet on always upward prices. Doesn’t even need to pump a drop to have some effect on future prices, so long as it’s coming.
It’s also strategic….Gets us out of Oops they don’t like us ZONES….and expansion in the Gulf.
This isn’t even the half of it all! He’s hung MoveOn.org out to dry too, those dummies!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O5fFcM59eY
Then, read this CNN article from just TWO DAYS AGO, in which he says:
“The oil companies are shoving this thing down the throats of Congress, because they know everybody wants to try to pretend they’re doing something about the energy crisis,” Obama said. “This is not real. I know it’s tempting. The polls say its one of the ways that a majority of Americans think we’re going to solve this problem, but it’s not real.”
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/07/30/obama-calls-offshore-drilling-a-scheme/
I don’t get it, Obambi panders and flip flops to what ever the public consensus is on any particular issue in the fore front of this political race.
I mean does he really think EVERYBODY is not wise to the fact that he has no backbone , a single original thought/policy or the fortitude to go against conventional wisdom on any issue he feels strongly on?
As much as I dislike Bush’s unneeded war, at least McCain had the nuts to stand behind a surge of troops and offshore oil before putting out the finger vane to measure public opinion or the latest polls.
Obambi on the other hand seems to think he can morph 180 degrees on offshore oil and nobody will give it a second thought.
I’m not sure how many Obambi kool-aid drinkers have come to their senses but I’m sure the steady drip of Obambi flip flopping will eventually make even the hardest of the kool-aid drinkers be embarrassed to sing his praises too loudly. I have to wonder how much bull chit Obambi has to shovel before those same kool-aid drinkers finally see the light.
McCain’s stance is it’s up to the state. If Florida wants offshore rigs and California doesn’t, that’s up to them.
Floridians do want drilling off their shores. That’s why, when in Florida,Obama is for drilling.
The wheels of the bus go ’round and ’round…
“I mean does he really think EVERYBODY is not wise to the fact that he has no backbone …”
That is why the two-word argument that dedicated Democrats present to me — “SUPREME COURT!” — mean nothing to me. I truly fear that he will cave in to any pressure from the right.
“As much as I dislike Bush’s unneeded war, at least McCain had the nuts to stand behind a surge of troops and offshore oil before putting out the finger vane to measure public opinion or the latest polls.”
EXACTLY RIGHT, DAVE!!! John McCain doesn’t put a finger to the political winds every morning to determine what his position on a particular should be. THAT’S what I want in a president: Someone who has the stones to go against popular opinion … or the wishes of his party base … if he believes it to be in the best interests of the country.

But I thought all we needed to do was blow up our tires.
The gas prices have really put a dent in my arugula budget.
(Dammit, but I do love arugula. This is a late-night confession. I’ll deny it tomorrow.)
And get a tune up.
Amazing. She is spot on with this commentary.
I am really getting angry with Dem. friends who watch all of this and say they will support him rather than vote for McCain, if Obie is in fact the nominee. How can you trust one thing that comes out of this man’s mouth.
I have said for eight months, since first reviewing his voting record, that this is a man of no moral courage. The 130 ‘present’ and 6 ‘oops I hit the wrong button’ votes, and his missing tough votes in the Senate tell you that immediately.
I’d rather have someone make a mistake than not make a choice. If you don’t draw a line in the sand, if you don’t stand for something, then you stand for nothing, since no human being can stand for everything. All you get is endless flip-flopping and nothing will ever get accomplished.
I just hope enough of Obama’s supporters are as dumb as he is and hit the wrong button at the polls and vote for McCain.
Plus, I’d like to see people care about the core values of the Dem Party. What the hell happened to us caring about the working class?
Exactly.
If you don’t stand for something, then you’ll fall for anything.
choices are:
1 HRC
2 McCain
Obamarosa does not qualify.
Susan, you really need to add MoveOn to those under the bus with this move. Please see the link I posted to the ad. Yeah, I know they were already under the bus with FISA, but now the bus has backed up over them again.
YES! We must get PatRacimora to revive her bus cartoon — she can add the Sierra Club and all the environmental groups as well.
The good news is that MoveOn has spent a significant amount of its advertising budget on an issue that is “no longer operative”. (Thats a phrase for those of you old enough to remember Nixon’s press secretary Ron Zigler).
If a guy disavows his pastor to get elected, and quits his church to get elected, I really don’t think his position on offshore drilling will be especially sacrosanct.

Perhaps not individually but the cumulative effects WILL BE devastating, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy, lol.
Dear Hillary,
Please please please don’t save this bums hide, don’t take VP spot when Obambi’s poll numbers take another DIVE, let him eat crow, watermelon, french fries and bratwurst till he pukes and asks for a strawberry milkshake.
Hillary is not dumb enough to take Obama’s VP slot and ruin her career for that lunatic. She will live to fight another day in 2012.
I’m starting a pool for the following:
The day he will unequivocally admit the surge was a success.
The day he will say he was actually totally for the surge from the start.
The day he will say the surge was really his idea.
The day he will say he was Chairman of the committee that introduced the formation of the surge.
You can choose them occurring individually or multiple statements on the same day.
All bets are guaranteed to occur before the general election with payoff being doubled if any occur before the Democratic Primary concludes.
You forgot “claiming to have invented that committee,” if not the Senate itself.
Or the day he will mention the time when he “was” president with Hillary as his secretary and janitor.
Obama having seen the light, the question now is whether Pelosi will stand by her insane position,
and continue to hang her party… over a barrel.
Oh please, seen the light? He’ll say anything to get a vote. He doesn’t care about us or Gas prices!! He’s a BIG FAT EGOMANIAC!! He just wants to win and noting more.
I signed the Drill Here Drill Now petition!! Can’t wait for Barky to pretend do something about this!!
Looks like Botoxic Poolosi may be getting a little dose of buyers remorse with “Both ways Barack” and “I’ll say anything to get your vote” Barack.
He so desperate because he’s tanking in the polls and the race card wont work on Mac. LOL… I love it …
Read the rest of his article below, it’s well worth it …

Hillary 08
Maybe that’s why she made sure the lights went off today. She knew he was going to say that he supported it. A CYOA hoping in 5 weeks no one will question her on it. If not, it gives her 5 weeks to have an epiphany on what the wise one has stated.
Pfft. He’d probably PULL a Pelosi and take it “off the table” IF he manages to…UGH! Can’t EVEN bring myself to think it let alone say it. I’m sure you get my drift.
Well, why be surprised. Poor guy doesn’t have Hillary to mimic and steal from. Now Big John McCain has just become his favorite mentor. Oh, what John said.
I couldn’t think of a better person to hang out to dry than pelosi.
He’s so flexible and flip-floppy he should change his name, yet again, to Slinky Obama LMAO
Ya’ll remember the ad song…I think I just dated myself
Who walks the stair without a care
It shoots so high in the sky.
Bounce up and down just like a clown.
Everyone knows its Slinky.
The best present yet to give or get

Everyone knows it’s Slinky.
It’s Slinky, It’s Slinky

It’s Slinky, It’s Slinky
the favorite of girls and boys.
Instead of doing this piecemeal, the Republicans should just make up a list of positions they’d like him to change, sort of like giving a DJ a request list.
First it’s naw, naw, naw. Then he develops severe metooistus. Or I came out with that idea right before Iowa, or was it after N.H., Maybe during S.C. You guys know what I meant.
ROTFLMFAO!!! It was only a matter of time, wasn’t it? Now, we’ll hear how he REALLY was in favor of allowing offshore drilling all along, but we all simply misunderstood him. While I’m strongly in favor of allowing drilling to exploit our own domestic reserves and stop sending billions of dollares each year to governments that don’t like us, I don’t believe that Barack Obama really supports it for one second. He’s just looking at the polls and saying what he has to say to get elected, hoping that a majority of the American public will be stupid enough to buy into his act. There’s not an ounce of true conviction in his entire body. He’s a spineless jellyfish.
It appears to me he’s working on sweeping up a bunch of votes in south central and southwestern MO is what he’s doing. He’s combing through the rural areas of MO the last couple of days and hearing from Missourians that they want some go-juice for their vehicles.
It’s a bellwether state and many of the people there have to drive a considerable distance to get to work. He’s pretty certain of Kansas City and St. Louis so working on sucking up to the mostly conservative rural Missourians.
Giving them hope for energy solutions that sound more feasible to them than windmills and such is better than getting caught up in moral debates in southern MO so he’s speaking to their wallets. Doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll succeed but that’s what I think he’s doing anyway.
McCa*kill is showing him the way SHE took the state by focusing on the rural areas in an RV when she was up for election. Follow the news in the Springfield News Leader http://www.news-leader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage and the News Tribune http://www.newstribune.com in Jefferson City to get a closeup.
Going to hit the comment button and hope those links stick
The problem for Oblowme in states with lots of real live black people (major cities, not IA) is that other voters have figured out that black people aren’t magical.
So, Missouri with Kansas City and St. Louis won’t be hoodwinked, bamboozled.
The Messiah biz has a short shelf life and a limited venue.
Oblowme = 1 State Wonder = Illinois
I think HE thinks he’s got those two cities, but I have been hearing from connections in both cities that may not be the case.
Dan, Dan, Dan(Insert heavy sigh here. Facetious alert.) Now you know he has “consistently” stated that he would be willing to support offshore drilling in Florida…you’re going to get us another post on fight the smears.
I have to tell you guys what our house did. And we feel really good about it. We’re sending our message to the Democratic Party and if they don’t get it – We’ll send a louder message in November.
Our primary ballots came in the mail today. So we sat down with the game changing ballots and the game definitely changed around here, we voted for every Republican running against the Democrats on the ballot if that Democrat endorsed Obama – and did it with pleasure. It wasn’t even hard after what the Democratic party did to Hillary. The only exception was when it came to judges if we could tell by reading the voters pamphlet we voted for the better judge on the ballot (liberal).
Try it on your primary ballot! Send the party a message! its fun! Kind of like the way they sent us the message – that our votes didn’t count in MI and FL and that they could select Obama over Clinton instead of having a fair election. And Obama could just waltz right in and pass FISA with telecom immunity!
Skippity doo da – WE WILL BE voting for McCain in November. And Dean, Pelosi and Obama will be out of the game! Imagine, I used to love Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi until they showed their true colors against the Clintons. Did Obama give up his Senate seat to run for POTUS like John Edwards did? Didn’t think so. What a loser.
Obama is counting on California to win. California has the largest number of Electoral Votes, which is 55.
Yesterday a poll was released which showed a majority of Californians support offshore drilling.
A poll was also recently released that showed a majority of Californians now support the initiative on the November ballot which will overturn the State Supreme Court decision to allow same sex marriage.
What do you think Obama’s position will be on same sex marriage?
It would be interesting to see how opinion polls in other states with Electoral Votes Obama has been counting on to win are changing his positions.
Just goes to show how much you can count on Obama to maintain a position – NOT.
Just when you thought he couldnt be any more pathetic….
just wait the best is yet to come …
In addition to bHo’s always looking to the popular position, I think the oil companies also said they would shut off the spigot of their massive contributions to him if he did not fall in line. He has NEVER voted against corporate interests.
There is one other issue about all this drilling. How much of that oil (and natural gas) do we think will stay in the U.S.? Not much, I imagine. Our corporations will sell it to the higher bidder telling us that expanding the market will lower the price. Lou Dobbs was good on this one and the Reps or Sens on his show said that the bill would make sure all our goodies stay in the U.S. I wonder about that.
I am not sure what difference it’ll make. They’d have to sell the oil at the market price anyway.
I agree. I think this reversal is like all the rest–poll and influence driven. It all comes back to the question: what are Barack Obama’s core values? The answer? I don’t think we know. Whatever they are, he hasn’t revealed them beyond his desire to take the White House.
For me? That’s just not acceptable. I remember listening to Bush, Sr. answer a question about why he wanted to be President. He paused and then said, “because it’s the big enchilada.”
Sorry. That’s not good enough for me. Undoubtedly, you need a huge drive, mega-ambition to reach for the White House keys. But that alone is not enough to persuade me [or many others] about a candidate’s qualities for the job. I’m not willing to trust my future, my children’s or my country’s to someone’s unspoken vision. Hope and change just doesn’t do it without particulars. God is in the details, as they say. And when a candidate is willing to change on a dime? It makes me downright queasy and suspicious of a hidden agenda.
Barack Obama has plenty of ambition and style. But it’s not enough to sway me.
I hope once John McCain really throws the towel at him CA will go Red too…
It’s a long shot but IMO I cannot believe people will vote for him my goodness we will wake up in Americasan on the 5th November….
I know locally many are switching to McCain many loyal dems too
Note to self:
Stay away from busses if Obama is nearby….
And yes, Susan, of course I believe this. This is what Obie has been doing from day one of his political career.
How shocking that the MSM has pretended not to notice all this time.
Look, you guys haven’t been listening or paying attention. Senator Obama has always he’s not against limited drilling if it made sense.
Why don’t they drill for oil on the 26 million acres already leased?
If you had been paying attention and according to testimony before congress, Senator Dorgan said in the well of the Senate it is because the oil companies do not have the equipment to do so. And even if they did it would take 10 years to come to market.
The oil companies are the same as the railroads of the 1800 hundreds with checkerboard land locks. You must be dreaming if you think BO has the nations interests in the fore. This nothing more but a way to have oil money and politics not challenging him.
He has no way out of the brutal fact that as Oil companies make the biggest profits in history they are not re-investing in more production.
It makes no sense to lease out land when the oil companies are not developing what they have.
The Asshat will have a hard time explaining to Florida and California why he supports this. We know the the Carolina’s and Georgia want to lease, good luck with this BS. All the oil that is pumped out of US lands will NOT be in any domestic pipeline. The demand for Oil on the Global market is 2x above the supply and is reflected in the value of the dollar. You think for a second cheap labor is not a cheap dollar.
I have been paying VERY close attention and you are welcome to WAKE the FRAK UP.
Same as it ever was with FF.
Far be it for me to figure out where BO stands, besides on the necks of the souls he thinks are his by crooked deal.
damm he is gettin faster, this only took him a month!
Ibama want to drill now – What a shocker.
If you take both sides of every issue, you can never be wrong.
http://www.bothwaysbarack.com
By next Friday, Ibama will add Nuclear, Clean Coal Technology, and CNG to his energy policy. His policy will look just like McCains.
Just like Ibama did with Hillary, he is copying McCains policies.
Johnny at Work; I have never been able to figure out why when the multi billion dollar Clean Coal Alliance got up and left the state of Illinois. BO said nothing…why be 1/2 a vote when we have a whole asshole in BO?
Obama is like a mechanical bullride for his supporters. They’ve barely got a handle on the Obama bull(sh**) before he’s throwing them all over the place. I think this latest 180 will have them in a dither because they can’t defend ANY of his positions because he doesn’t have any. If his bots stick their necks out defending him on a position, Obama will change his stance as soon as the cr** is posted. What leg do they have to stand on. None. The Obamaman is going down!!!
Superdelegates you’d better get off your asses and nominate the best candidate for the job at the convention (Hill or course) or you’ll go down right along with Obama. We’ve got the power.
Rise, Hillary, rise!
Warm up Hillary in the bullpen. Me thinks we will need to yank BO at the 7th inning stretch in Denver.
Well, well, well — from inflated tires and tune-ups to off shore drilling. He must have found himself on the losing side with the inflated tire strategy.
For me and mine, we keep our tires checked and properly inflated, but it’s still a burden to make the necessary 30-mile one-way trip to a medical specialist’s office.
Bill Clinton was prophetic when he said that Obama would be like a “roll of a dice.” After his support of off-shore drilling, he will probably change anything that suits him. I even think that if elected he would choose conservative judges in the Supreme Court to get support from the right-wing. Obama is a prostitute who will sell to the highest bidder, whoever is willing to give him the gold.
From Christi Adkins over at Clintons4McCain:
ancy Pelosi Sabotaged Drilling: Call to Action 7 Hours, 42 Minutes ago Karma: 10 Karma+ Karma-
Pelosi has turned the lights off in the People’s House! All the while, the Republicans are in there demanding she call the Dems back from their vacation to vote to DRILL NOW!!!
Take action now and call today, call tomorrow and demand they get their pristine, latte drinking ‘arses’ back to work.
Call them in their own districts, if you have to, but CALL NOW.
Today is a great day to be an Independent as Dems hang their head in shame.
How dare Elitist Pelosi turn off the lights in the People’s House, on the Republicans who are insisting on a vote to drill now!
How dare the Democrats go on a 5 week vacation while the rest of us can’t afford to!!!
Remember, we are paying for all their nonsense.
Call these folks please and call your own Congressman!!!
1.Pelosi’s number is 202-224-2854, constantly busy. I called Obama and Durbin too
2. Call John Boehner’ office too and thank him for doing this…(202) 225-6205. I did and they loved my call and really appreciated my support.
3. Steny Hoyer, House Majoirty Leader….202-225-4131
4. James Clyburn, House Majority Whip,,,202-225-3315
5. Rahm Emanuel, Democratic Caucus Chairman…202-225-4061
6. Dick Durbin, Illinois Senator…202-224-2152
(He is not in the House but let’s make his day miserable too as he and Nancy are such good buddies!)
Thank you
The Pelosi gang decided on the current Dem candidate and assured us that there would only be one nominee going into the convention and that she was going to end it. I’m also tired of hearing her describe herself as being the third most powerful person in Washington.
Today Pelosi showed the rest of the country what NoQuarter readers have known for a few months. Whether its the Democratic nominee or offshore drilling–she will silence people of opposing opinions rather than face it head on and allow democracy to rein.
Congrats, Pelosi. I’m so totally ashamed of the Dem leadership that I will vote straight ticket against you this year. When you and Bambi hit the road I may rethink my position but this is not a dictatorship and I won’t fall in line with your constant bullying tactics. It’s time for the rest of the dems to turn your lights out and remove you from leadership.
I happen to agree with drilling offshore but Obambi’s switcheroo doesn’t change my mind about him. He doesn’t have a position and he’s shown he’s easily swayed. McCain has taken a position of leadership, Obamabi takes the position of trainee–as most neophytes do. I hope the rest of the American people are getting this–after all, he may be following an American’s lead this time but how will he face off against our enemies if given a chance? What will he compromise then?
I fear Obama and not for the reason he wants others to believe. I fear Obama because he and his pals are willing to do anything to win.
M*otherf*cker larry johnson, did hillary let you suck her c*nt??? Is that why you are still maintaining your stupid ass blog?
Somebody needs to call the exorcist
You don’t describe oral sex performed on women as “sucking”, sweetie. You sound phalocentric.
I suppose the poor thing is….inexperienced, Grace. Rather like Cartman describing sex in an episode of South Park…! He thinks he’s being accurate, because he doesn’t know any better!
http://www.tvsquad.com/2006/10/19/south-park-miss-teacher-bangs-a-boy/
Yuck … quick, we need an exorcism. Drunk Troll alert!!
At least this is a step in the right direction. The trolls are finally figuring out that calling people racists isn’t working.
My response: This ’stupid ass’ site has many readers, and posters.
Translation: Be afraid…. Be very afraid Obamatons!
Our numbers are even larger than yours. And no one is being paid with sexual favors, either.
This is how most people feel about 0bama. And if we can’t prove it before his nomination becomes official. We’re gonna show you the money on Election Day.
Sandy-
I’m confused. Why is there a * between
?
Otherwise thank you for providing a window
via your telling comment
into the thought process of a typically deranged Oblowme voter.
Ah, by their lack of maturity, their sexist invective, and their sheer vitriolic hate shall we know them!
Is this one a VERY frightened little ANCHOVY?
Shall we throw it back, or leave it flopping fearfully (and rather stinkily, as well) on our dock?
Note the glassy eyes, the putrid smell….why, we’d know one of these ANYWHERE!
THE POWER OF JESUS OBAMA CHRIST COMPELS YOU!!!
THE POWER OF JESUS OBAMA CHRIST COMPELS YOU!!!
THE POWER OF JESUS OBAMA CHRIST COMPELS YOU!!!
Say what??
Please remove this disgusting comment. Sandy obviously hates herself (as a woman).
Sandy’s probably a boy…a very immature and frightened boy, too.
stay classy, sandy.
All those supers such as Rep. Jerry McNerney of Pleasanton, CA, who took what–$9 K from Obama and switched to him in spite of his district going overwhelmingly for Hillary should be ashamed of themselves. The Judases of this election season won’t soon be forgotten.
Obama voted for Cheney’s energy bill, written by lobbyists behind closed doors. McCain and Hillary did not. Of course, on the campaign trail BO claimed he opposed it, but that was just in a daydream while he was visualizing walking through the White House to the Oval Office with Ludacris played on his iPod. What do I do next? Which of my 300 advisors can give me a clue?
This raises an interesting question: How do you take on a guy who’s apparently willing to become whatever the broadest cross-section of American voters want him to be? Even policy reversals can be played in a positive way: One person’s “flip-flopping” might be somebody else’s “responsiveness to the will of the people” or “willingness to work for compromises across the divide”. This leaves the opposition to focus increasingly on negative portrayals of the person himself–which can easily backfire–or to fumble around constantly trying to find new policy points to attack.
No one, left, right or center, likes a BULLSHITTER.
That shit worked before the internet and the 24 hour news cycle, when not everything was reported everywhere. Back in the old days, blonde women went missing and America was NOT told!
This idiot is trying to run an Eisenhower campaign in the Twenty First Century. Barack’s minions make fun of McCain for being a tech-dunce, but it’s obvious his team does not fully grasp the 24 hour news cycle, while McCain DOES understand it….and the fact that those who do not support The Anointed ONE are WATCHING WHAT HE SAYS…and ratting his ass out.
Not everyone follows the campaign hour-by-hour, day by day. I suspect the majority doesn’t. They’re too busy, too distracted. They’ll form some vague, general opinions, but won’t begin to focus in more closely until the election draws near. By then Obama will likely have tightened up his game and become more consistent with his messages, which he’s been in the process of fine-tuning based on polls and other feedback. He’s been trying to find the middle and the mainstream positions. I figure his shifts reflect that process.
The point being, Obama is very much aware of how 21st Century politics will work. This may be the first national election where we’ll see a full-blown demonstration of the 21st Century political skill-set.
God help us.
This will be the third time I have tried to reply to you since yesterday–for some reason, I cannot get my post to stick. It’s a bit annoying.
Obama has one problem with 21st Century politics, and that’s VIDEO TAPE.
Every time he flips and flops, he is making the commercial for his opponent. And that commercial will be aired in the regions where he’s trying to flip and flop for effect.
It won’t work. Like I said, no one likes a bullshitter.
Back in the old days, you could get away with this stuff–saying one thing to one group, another thing to another. But now, the national media follows candidates everywhere and reports it everywhere. The reason we are talking about Obama’s flip flops is because we are aware of them. Before the 24 hour news cycle, we wouldn’t be.
I wonder w/this Obama’s flip-flopping whether that also applies to his rumored bisexual orientation. It would play like this: he physically flips or flopps positions depending on the gender of the person he is with at the time. “Both ways-Barack.”
Obummer has lost it, why wait till November to call this one. Hillary was right, the repubs will squish him like a bug.
Help me Obi-wan, Hillary’s, our only hope.
Listening to Jerome Corsi, tonite, sounds like Obama against the second amendment, and a few other things. And Rev Wright used to be a muslim. Sounds like he’s coming back on Hannity in a couple weeks. I guess he wants people to buy and read his book.
I hope some brave soul, stands up for the right of America, and brings Obama down off this peak, he thinks he’s on,and arrests him for something.
Wouldn’t that be a joy to watch, before the convention
…a Black Muslim. That’s Nation of Islam (NOI). You know, Louis Farrakhan.
“…a Black Muslim.”
And that’s the worst possible kind of Muslim, isn’t it?
LBG..now there you go! jbjd didn’t say the worst possible kind…you did! Why do you put hate words in other peoples mouths? Why do you hate muslims LBG?
LBG is obviously a racist on this website to spread hatred.
I understand Corsi’s Obama Nation–first day on Amazon–#5 already.
PUMA Power!
Nobama, ever.
A week ago, everyone on this site was so gung-ho for offshore drilling that it seemed like an Exxon convention in here. This week, not a single mention that offshore drilling is the right decision. What changed?
Give up Anchovy. No one takes you seriously.
You’re a buffoon, a fool.
Scared too, I see. Very scared.
It now has the curse of Obama on it. If you slap an OBAMA 2008 bumper sticker on their butts they’ll probably chew their own rear ends off.
hahahahahaha … cars overheat and die along side of major highways.

Jerome Corsi Book – THE OBAMA NATION exposed the fact the Barack Obama favorite author in college was Frantz Fanon. He is the author that wrote “The Wretched of the Earth and “Black Skin, White Mask.” Frantz Fanon was instrumental in the Algerian revolution. He was a born in Martinique and studied medicine in France. Obama seems to love all these Anti-White, Black liberationist, nationalistic men. It was Frantz Fanon who believed that true revolution can only occur if it is violent and must come from the peasants.
Obama is vague on his belief because he knows he supports a far, left ideology of socialism and marxism.
Yeah, that’s why he votes for telecom immunity, he’s such a commie.
Is that you, Corsi? Run along and tell your rightwing friends the sky is falling and the dollar is going to be replaced by the “amero.”
Hey Zee,
What are your positions?
Are you an Obama supporter? I’m a Hillary supporter and you insulted me on another thread. You appear to take both sides of an issue. On other comments, you appear to be condemning Obama.
Are you coming to this site to create problems or participate in dialogue?
Any day now, he will say….”maybe I was for the war in Iraq.”
The Manchild is a duplicitous pandering vote whore. He stands for everything and nothing. He is all things to all people and nothing to anybody–except himself of course.
I hear over at Townhall, they have dubbed him the Dalibama.
I am beginning to understand why Barack Obama refuses to release his medical records. I think a lot of stuff is up his nose.
How insulting to the Dali Lama…..LOL…..He stands for something….TIBET
About a week ago I said to myself, “whaddya wanna bet Obama flips his position on off-shore drilling within a week.” And he did!
Cherry pick, cherry pick. Do any of you know how to read? You are acting as though he went from being totally against off shore drilling to totally for off shore drilling like, oh I don’t know MCCAIN.
What he said was: he could get behind a compromise with Republicans and oil companies to prevent gridlock over energy.
He goes on to say:
“Like all compromises, it also includes steps that I haven’t always supported,” Obama conceded. “I remain skeptical that new offshore drilling will bring down gas prices in the short-term or significantly reduce our oil dependence in the long-term, though I do welcome the establishment of a process that will allow us to make future drilling decisions based on science and fact.”
I hate all of you. You are complete and total morons you should be ashamed.
I hope there’s a snark in there missy or we’re going to have to call you Dad and tell him you found his password again!
You are so pathetic. Both of my parents are dead so I hardly think I need there permission to use the internet. Attack the messenger because you know the message is correct.
Do you know what c o p r o m i s e means?
You probably forgot since we haven’t had a president that was willing to do it in the last eight years.
I think this is a step forward for Obama and will tip those independents that were holding out, over to his side. The majority of the country wants drilling. Why would we want someone in office how is not willing to compromise with the people of this country and what they want?
No, what does c o p r o m i s e mean?
I know what compromise means. Spell much?
Oh my god! I left out an “m”!!!!!!
Did you? Aw, don’t feel bad. Everybody makes mistakes.
Like your rabid support for The One. When you sober up and realize what a fool you have been, we’ll all be here to take you in.
In the meantime, there are no votes for Obamarosa here. You’re wasting your time making your silly arguments supporting his ever-changing policies.
Thank you, again.
So what happened with inflating our tires ?
There is nothing wrong with being able to compromise, but it’s one thing to attack your opponent on a position and later adopting it. This is what Obama did to Hillary with Iraq. It shows that he is either opportunistic or a fool. Why did he not just pick the compromised position and stay with it? Why did he act like offshore drilling is such a terrible thing that we’d all be better off if we just inflate our tires?
If his opinion can shift like this, who knows what else he will compromise in the future just for the sake of getting a bill to pass? Look at how his opinion changed on FISA? That’s why principles are important. There are things people shouldn’t compromise.
I see where you’re coming from. But they have both been doing it to each other (McCain on Iraq “timetable” or whatever we are calling it today) and if it were Hillary and McCain she’d be doing it too. They are politicians and it takes a certain type of person to run for office. If you think Hillary is perfect, I don’t think you are being honest with yourself.
I do believe that he is against off shore drilling, but it’s what the American people want for some reason, so he wants to compromise with them. I think you are taking the “inflate your tires” comment a little to literally.
As far as FISA goes, I was disappointed. I’m sure he’ll disappoint me again before this race is over, but there is no way I could ever vote for McCain. While I maybe only agree with Obama 80% of the time I agree with McCain 10% of the time.
Thank you, you are so kind and considerate. I want to let you know how much I appreciate your warm words and kindness, it really makes a difference. I especially want to compliment you on your ability to have compassion and empathy.
Offended because I use the word “moron”? Let see, I have come to this website several times trying to get a true grasp of what you people are thinking. I believe it’s important to understand both sides of the argument. I have been called a b*tch, c*unt, a drug user, a “queer” and countless other niceties. So no, I no longer talk to anyone on here with respect.
Not offended at all. Thank you.
Oh cut the bullshit Hillary!
The people here are very clear about what we are thinking:
WE DON’T LIKE OR RESPECT BARACK OBAMA!
And on a daily basis we discuss our reasons.
The truth is you don’t like our reasons and that’s your privilege.
But don’t act like you haven’t been told. You’ve told in more ways than one.
So go back to a pro0bama site and hold hands, sing Kumbaya and feel safe in your own deluded little world, which will come crashing on Election Day.
0bama stands for NOTHING! He’s a shameless racebaiter who has set race relations back decades. And unlike you, I, as an AA, am going to have to bear the brunt of his irresponsibility. He’s been ruthless about getting elected and he doesn’t care if it’s at the expense of the AA community.
He will not get my vote. 0bama will have to:
WIN WITHOUT ME!!
Now that I’ve spelled it out for you:
Fuck Off!
No you haven’t. it’s people like you that come her and post the ugly words. Did you leave the sf off your name today? Take your filth and go away.
If you want cherry-picking and someone to hate on for misleading their readers, go bother Mark “maybe I can get my whole head up Obama’s anus” Karlin over at Buzzflash.
He’s over there posting those lying hearsay headlines about Hillary “not wanting” her name in nomination at the convention and plastering the place with whining headlines about McCain mocking the Omessiah!
The only flipflop headlines are about McCain.
Another amusing headline at another Obamacrush site said the Obamacelebrity was FORCED to change his tack on drilling.
Well, BLESS its heart~ there’s a commander in chief for ya, huh?
He’ll be FORCED to change his commands? His security tactics? If he can’t stand up to fellow Americans, how will the nicotine addict stand up to terrorists?
First of all I have never even heard of the website you are referring to. Second of all I am completely aware of Hillary’s position on what to do at the convention and I agree with her. Put her on the ballot, what’s to be will be.
Obama did the right thing yesterday. Look at what we have gone through over the last 8 years because we had a stubborn president that was never willing to compromise. Look at what happened last night because Nancy Pelosi was unwilling to compromise…..NOTHING.
Hillary,
I’m not so sure about Zee. I’m a Hillary supporter and he insulted me on another thread. Zee appears to take both sides of an issue-the same as Obama. It’s unclear what Zee’s motives are by blogging here.
KWK-for Hillary post above.
This development from Obama is at once both stunning and predictable. Preface, yes I’m a centrist republican supporting McCain, so I’ll get that out there.
This is the ultimate in pandering and if you watched this morning’s press conference (oh wow was he HORRIBLE at answering questions) he actually said, when asked by some soft spined reporter why he ‘ever so slightly softened his position on drilling’ (WHAT??? SLIGHTHLY?), he said “let me be clear (oh god, that again), this is not a new position” and then he went on to say why it wasn’t a new position all the while spelling out, without even knowing it, that it was a complete reversal of position.
Okay, McCain has had his reversals on issues, but in most cases it is at the detrement of his base and I must point out that while he, back when gas was under $2, held the policy that at that point in time we didn’t need to drill anymore and we should pursue alternative fuels, he HAS ALWAYS stated that the choice to drill off shores should be at the respective descretion of the states. THAT has not changed. In my mind, while I believe we should be drilling in ANWAR, I do NOT want McCain to chance his stance on that issue. He can hold to his off-shore stance and maintain that we can get enough new reserves from that source rathern than attacking ANWAR.
My hope for McCain now is that, since the race is now a dead heat and his two latest ads (both Celebrity and The One) were awesome and funny and kitchy, that he now focus on 1) his OWN issues and 2) Obama’s lack of resolve on standing for anything he originally ran on. Now the Obama team will whine that taking the second tact will be negative advertising but I’m telling you that it is NOT. It is the CENTRAL TENNANT to what the danger of an Obama presidency is.
And as an aside, Obama played the race card yet again in today’s press conference.
Anyway, thanks for letting an R vent on your site. I’ll always preface my comments by my support for McCain as I don’t want to be misleading.
Take care,
Patrick
Appreciate your honesty Patrick. Independent voting for McCain here; don’t like anything I’ve seem from the DNC,(Shenanigans, et al.) will do everything I can to see Senator McCain wins the election. I was a Senator Clinton supporter, but now that my choice has been taken away, As most people I go for my next best choice, for me, that choice is Senator Mccain.
Country First/McCain08
I was recently push polled in regards to offshore drilling.
They asked so many questions and the only party like question they asked was what I thought of Al Gore. I asked if they were calling for Obama and she wouldn’t say. I asked where she was calling from and she said Utah. Hmmmm.
Either way. It’s obvious Oblahma changes his positions with what the polls show.
Obama will do and say anything to win.
Al Gore???
Are they seriously contemplating Drafting him at the Convention to get out this 0bama mess?
Fuck Al Gore! He had his chance and he blew it.
Hillary 08!
If not,
McCain!
Mimi –
With that awful interlude by John Kerry (was he actually shot in the ass just to get him to STFU?).
I gave the bloviating jerk thousands of dollars and
as a public service I am desparately trying to warn people about Oblowme buyers remorse,
so that others won’t suffer my fate.
Bore Gore and wooden Kerry couldn’t seal the deal. Talk about stupid campaigns. Never again.
No doubt, HRC was the the smart choice, and she got screwed big time by the Oblowme’s race card,
but since the DNC is in love with a crook’s hopey dopey bullshit –
it’s no party for me.
I’ve always admired John McCain. McCain and his wife and family love this country and if some idiot thinks he’ll be just like W, they need to detox.
Al Gore and John Kerry are both good democrats and good Americans. Either one of them would have made a president vastly superior to George W. Bush, and the country would presently be in a far better situation if either one had been elected instead.
McCain won’t be just like George W. Bush. McCain isn’t the intellectual lightweight and moral flyweight that George W. Bush is. But McCain’s and Bush’s policies are nearly identical, and McCain’s voting record clearly demonstrates that the strong similarity is far from superficial. If you vote for John McCain you’ll be voting for policy continuity. Don’t let yourself be bullshitted into thinking otherwise.
What you characterize as hopey dopey bullshit is actually a genuine opportunity for change and redirection, coming at a time when America has never more needed it. Some people fear change and redirection. They like to talk about it, but it scares them when they begin to suspect it could actually happen. Those fears are projected on the messenger–on a motivated and motivational guy who’s actually nothing more than a means to an end.
You think the enthusiastic support for Barack Obama is entirely about Barack Obama. You’re wrong. This isn’t about the messenger, it’s about the message. And the message isn’t about an unbending fixation on any one particular policy point. It’s about an entirely new, optimistic outlook, and an entire range of issues, and about the election of a motivator and facilitator who can reach out and work across the divisions that impede progress.
Vote for McCain and things will change, alright. You’ve just got to be willing to embrace change that’s nothing more than the natural progression of all current trends. Generally when you do the same thing you’ve been doing, you get more of the same results.
If I were supporting Hillary Clinton now, I’d be doing it for exactly the same reasons. And if the primaries had worked out differently, that’s exactly what I’d be doing. But I deal with things as they actually exist, not as I wish they were.
Ha ha, this is f’ing hilarious. Offshore drilling was the ONE and only thing making it impossible for me to vote for McCain. Barky just removed the last barrier.
If it can’t be HIllary, then it’s gotta be Nader or McCain.
May the false leaders of the Dem party rot in the hell they’ve created in 2008. The true Democrats will have to don their hazmat suits, but clean it up they will.
Can I believe it? Sure I do. Obama’s constant change of mind is change we can believe in.
Obama lies on Troop Withdrawl!!!!!!!!!
