Doesn’t This New Obama Rap Crap Make You Feel So Proud?

ludacris113006_04-thumb.jpgUPDATED: See Below where Barky Denounces His “Genius Friend”. He’s gonna need a bigger bus!

First, thanks for the link, Kat. I wish you had warned me to turn the volume down on this ‘work of art’ first.

I do hope every responsible adult in America gets a chance to listen to this new Loving Ludicrous Ludacris song. To refresh your memory about how much of a “Genius” Barack Obama says Ludicris is, and to round out some of this “song,” I did a piece not too long ago called Obama’s Hip-Hop Flip-Flop.

Today’s most Genius lines (out of context), appreciated, I am sure, by a man who wants to be the Leader of the Free World:

“Give Luda a special pardon if I’m ever in the slammer, better yet put me in office, make me Vice President”

“Hillary hated on you and [now] she’s irrelevant”.

“Paint the White House black, and I’m sure that’s got em terrified”.

“McCain don’t belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed.”

“The world is ready for change ’cause Obama is here”.

capt342702418de54f27a18d300898bd4bcapeople_obama_ludacris_cx109.jpgSome of the rest of this song, I cannot understand. I guess this form of English syntax is over my head or something. But I am sure you won’t mind if I don’t listen to it too many times to ‘get it right,” because it’s not exactly Mozart, if you get my drift. In short, if I want a headache, I will hit myself on the head with a hammer.

Ah well, I suppose we should at least all be grateful that he didn’t use “Ho” and “Muthafucka” in this one. And incidentally, I know it wouldn’t make the “song” “fun,” but in America, we have elections and primaries. Now I know that Ludacris’ “man” is not accustomed to having opponents, having mastered the art of eliminating them from the ballots, but just so we are all clear on this, running against Obama is not “hating on him”. It’s called a Primary In A Democracy.

Oh and one more thing. There is still a thing called a General Election. Prancing around Assuming you are already President doesn’t exactly cut it. But tell me folks, is not this song a great example of the Hubris that is Barack Obama?

Aren’t you proud to call this song your own, Barack Obama? Just wondering.

Say! I have an idea! You are running out of people who want to run with you, Strickland, Webb, Rendell, and now Reed…so….um….. maybe Ludacris will round out your platform. As you can see, he “humbly” volunteers.

As I said, I DO hope every adult who has a Gen Y dependent hanging out (for far too long!), whilst playing this work of art, pays attention to this lovable “song” of America. I would like to ensure that as many of us run as fast as we can to the polls on Election Day.

Oh Look folks! Barky has Denounced his Genius Rapper Friend’s Work. Gee, are you surprised? Under the bus, “Genius”!

Ben Smith’s Blog: Ludacris Should Be Ashamed.

Why do I get the feeling the whole thing was coordinated first so that The Children could be exposed to this shit? Why is it I trust Barack Obama as far as I can throw a Ludacris CD?

LOL, our local Dems just sent out a newletter asking everybody to carry a hammer with them during this campaign season. That was my first thought, is that so I can whack myself in the head with it?

LOL, no, apparently it’s so you can fix any campaign signs that might have fallen over.

Lyrics:

I’m back on it like I just signed my record deal
yeah the best is here, the Bentley Coup paint is dripping wet, it got sex appeal
never should have hated
you never should’ve doubted him
with a slot in the president’s iPod Obama shattered ‘em
Said I handled his biz and I’m one of his favorite rappers
Well give Luda a special pardon if I’m ever in the slammer
Better yet put him in office, make me your vice president
Hillary hated on you, so that b^$&%* is irrelevant
Jesse talking slick and apologizing for what?
if you said it then you meant it how you want it have a gut!
and all you other politicians trying to hate on my man,
watch us win a majority vote in every state on my man
you can’t stop what’s bout to happen, we bout to make history
the first black president is destined and it’s meant to be
the threats ain’t fazing us, the nooses or the jokes
so get off your ass, black people, it’s time to get out and vote!
paint the White House black and I’m sure that’s got ‘em terrified
McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed
Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped
Ball up all of his speeches and I throw em like candy wrap
cause what you talking I hear nothing even relevant
and you the worst of all 43 presidents
get out and vote or the end will be near
the world is ready for change because Obama is here!
cause Obama is here
The world is ready for change because Obama is here!

What does he mean saying he handled bo’s biz?

Comment by Jonathan | 2009-01-07 12:38:35

he says handled my biz. Ne ways. All you guys need to just do what you do and leave ludachris alone. If you don’t like the song don’t listen to it. You don’t have to like ludachris to get the point of the song. It was his way of expressing his opinion. Just like the guy who this articles way to voice his opintion is this article ludachris way to voice his opinion is through hip-hop. If you knew anything about this song you would know that it came out on his free mixtape. This mixtape was intended for fans of ludachris. It was free so anyone could listen to it but if you don’t like it you shure as hell don’t have to listen to it, and you sure as hell don’t have to hate on it.

And here’s more:

Obama camp concedes they played the race card on ‘dollar bill’ remark, just as McCain camp said they did. Obama camp initially lied about this, but with such an embarrassing attempt to cover their tracks, they were forced to come clean. YES!!!:

Comment by Boxer Mum 06 | 2008-08-01 12:17:43

So where’s Obama’s apology to McCain???

Could Axelrod be the next guy thrown under the bus?

There must be some hidden strategy to him coming clean about the race thing.

Comment by yttik | 2008-08-01 12:37:04

McCain plays Obama like a fiddle. This makes what, the 36th time Obama has been forced to concede something to the McCain camp?

I watched McCain play Obama on the senate floor. Obambi was wrapped around McCain’s finger before he knew what hit him. It wasn’t pretty

I remember half a dozen apologies to the McCain camp from Obama back when Hillary was still campaigning. Not one apology to Hillary, but everytime McCain asked Obama was forced to comply.

Comment by Zee | 2008-08-01 13:34:56

How could we miss it, Pew? You spam it in every thread.

Corsi’s last book (post-swiftboating) was a paranoid conspiracynut diatribe about how they are gonna replace the dollar with an “AMERO.”

So, unfortunately, now all the progressives are going to lump the FACTS about Obama with swiftboating and conspiracies.

Just great.

Comment by rw | 2008-08-01 14:17:10

” a paranoid conspiracynut diatribe about how they are gonna replace the dollar with an “AMERO.””

No, that is not a conspiracy nut diatribe, it is a fact that in economic circles there are talks and studies being conducted on the possibility of creating a one currency region from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego; A currency akin to the Euro, creating a mega market here in the New World.

LOL! I read the words and could not get the syntax either, probably because it is non-existent. I didn’t want to listen to it, but it played on the news. Even the “genius” couldn’t make it sound like anything.

BO seemed to compliment him while “denouncing” the content. I’m not sure if Ludacris is under the bus or just hung out the window by his ankles.

Comment by RunningDogLackey | 2008-08-01 11:26:28

Yeah, she left the dirty work to BJ, Geraldine Ferraro and her other mouthpieces.

Oh, except for the time when she PERSONALLY stabbed her own party in the ass by claiming that only she and McCain had the experience to be CinC.

I guess that’s what passes for class in Arkansas.

Comment by destardi | 2008-08-01 11:31:21

1)You’re an idiot. Sorry, but you are.

2)Geraldine’s comments? What was racist about them? Obama said the exact same thing, posted on his website. “if he weren’t a young black politician, if he were just another white freshman senator he wouldn’t be getting all this attention.

PROVE YOUR POINT! What did Hillary “have geraldine do”?!

3)Gee, does that claim that state senator’s in new york only work part-time so they have a second job not equal “inexperienced”? What a joker you are…I’m not laughing.

Regardless, did she ‘backstab’ the Democratic party, before or after obama dissed the only successful 2 term Democratic President in 40 years, and praised reagan and bush foreign policy?

GET A DAMN CLUE!!!!

Thank you destardi, my thoughts exactly! Geraldine Ferraro did not call anyone names. She did the unthinkable! She told the truth! She had the courage to stand up and say the emperor was naked. Obama has no experience! He is unqualified! He is not a leader! Why is that racist? If he had years of experience and qualifications that would be different, but he doesn’t!!

Obama said in a rally his daughters like to dance to “Drop It Like is Hot” by Snoop Dog. He says they think it’s ‘drop it like a sock’.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6Si8h4zgqA&eurl=http://www.uncorrelated.com/2008/07/obama_his_womenhating_friends.html

Just an innocent song, this is what his daughters dance to:
“Oh you got a gun so you wanna pop back?
AK47 now nigga, stop that!
Cement shoes, now I’m on the move
You’re family’s crying, now you on the news
They can’t find you, and now they miss you
Must I remind you I’m only here to twist you
Pistol whip you, dip you then flip you
Then dance to this motherfucking music we crip to”

Should we ask Social Services to pay a visit to that household?

First, the exposure of the young ones to TUCC. Now, lack of parental guidance regarding hateful and inappropriate lyrics.

Of course, the Obozos set limits by not giving Christmas or birthday presents to their daughters. What good little parents they are!

Who was it that said we should vote for Obozo because of his excellent judgement? Give me a break.

Comment by sfhillary | 2008-08-01 11:45:54

You people are reaching a new low on this thread. We are a nation at war, Al Qaeda is getting stronger, our health care system is collapsing, our economy is teetering on Depression, our federal budget is setting records for deficits, the global environment is on the verge of catastrophic collapse, John McCain is wrong on all these issues and Obama is right — and our brave fellow citizens at NoQuarter think we should all be worried about a dirty rap lyric.

Pathetic.

Comment by DoroB | 2008-08-01 11:47:31

“you people” who?

We are individuals from all walks of life, brought together by the resolve to ensure that the unqualified Obamarosa doesn’t steal the election this year.

As you said, “We are a nation at war, Al Qaeda is getting stronger, our health care system is collapsing, our economy is teetering on Depression, our federal budget is setting records for deficits, the global environment is on the verge of catastrophic collapse,…” so why would we turn the county over to the newbie?

Obamarosa says that he is running on his good judgement. MeMeMechelle says that if you can’t run your own house, then you wouldn’t be able to run the White House. Well, they haven’t exactly demonstrated their abilities with either of those ‘qualifications.’

So STF up yourself, ya dope.

Comment by sfhillary | 2008-08-01 12:46:56

I will let this one response stand in for all the notes here. I made a specific point, and the only response I received was that Obama is a “newbie.” So, you mean to say that you trust McCain to handle all these issues when his stated positions on all of them is wrong? He has promised to stay in Iraq, attempt to make Bush’s tax cuts for rich people permanent, leave health care to the private sector, do nothing about mileage standards or alternative energy…and so on. He is explicitly on the record as advocating utterly idiotic Republican policies in response to all these issues. Why on earth would you vote for that?

Comment by beebop | 2008-08-01 12:51:28

And yet, Obama the quote Democrat end quote voted for the Cheney energy bill … bugger off.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-08-01 12:56:09

The Point is that BOBO is a newbie. That is the point. There is no other point. You said it yourself. We are a nation at war, Al Qaeda is getting stronger, our health care system is collapsing, our economy is teetering on Depression, our federal budget is setting records for deficits, the global environment is on the verge of catastrophic collapse…. and you want to hand this nation over to a guy who has little more going for him then being a community activist who ran for the US senate when he was a part time IL senator and then ran for president after getting elected as a US Senator. You want to hand all our problems to a guy with an empty resume. You may not like McCain positions on the issues but the guy has been up and down the road a few times and has actually done a few things along the way. Our problems call for experience, not a bunch of empty slogans packaged as the latest craze.

Comment by jus messin wit you man | 2008-08-01 12:59:22

choices are:
1. HRC

Comment by QUEENIE | 2008-08-01 19:42:02

LET ME TELL YOU sfhillary A LITTLE ABOUT JOHN MCCAIN…

“In 1968 he was offered early release, and when he refused, because others had been there longer, his captors went at him again; he suffered cracked ribs, teeth broken off at the gum line, and torture with ropes that lashed his arms behind his back and that were progressively tightened all through the night.” Source Vanity Fair, February 2007

“He spent two years in solitary confinement, suffered from dysentery and even tried to commit suicide by hanging himself with his own shirt.

In 1968, the Vietnamese broke off many of his teeth at the gum and tortured him for hours on end. They offered him early release, knowing his value as an admirals son, but he refused, saying others had been held captive longer.” Source Daily Mail, February 1, 2008

Now who would I think had better character than Obama..let me see…

I believe that would be John McCain.

And who has served this nation ..longer and stronger than Obama..let me see…

I believe that would be John McCain.

And who did John Kerry and the democratic party ask to be the democratic Vice President in 2004..let me see…

I believe that would be John McCain.

Hey SFHillary..it will be a cold day in hell before I will vote for Obama..who’s character..sucks..who has surrounded himself with hoods and thugs..who has never served this nation..he only serves himself..and it is all he has ever served.

I was a flight crew of one of the airlines involved on 9/11 and if you think for a moment i would trust Oblowme for our national security..well i have the Brookyln bridge for sale for you!

For Chrissakes! I have been HEAVILY involved in poltics for decades, and I have to say I have NEVER seen such a trashy campaign riddled with trashy behaviors in my life……..except maybe at local levels where dregs think they should run for office. I regret VERY much that Barack Obama is black. If he weren’t I would have the pleasure of being able to dub his campaign WHITE TRASH. This is just plain the most disgusting campaign I have ever seen. Candidates mimicking rap and giving the finger on camera. Jesus, Mary and Joseph. America is being embarrassed by this shit……….DAILY!

As for this rap crap. It is so typical of this gen. In a hurry. Beeee Boppppppp Booooooop! How much of this genre do you think will be remembered in 50 years? Do you think people will be going to Rap Symphonies to listen to a collection of The Best? Where the hell is the talent in this crap? The only thing I can see in it is it’s a great genre to use to learn how to call women HOs, stab people, kill cops and learn the different ways to say FUCK.

Comment by sfhillary | 2008-08-01 11:55:42

The whole point of pop music has always been to shock and upset the older generation. You think parents didn’t feel the same way about Elvis in the Fifties, the Beatles and Stones in the Sixites, the Sex Pistols in the Seventies and so on? I mean, seriously — are you actually, literally going on now about “kids these days?” Wow. As for rap: I’m a cihld of the Seventies, I love Springsteen, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, etc. (all of whom my parents considered the end of Western Civilization), and I don’t listen to hip-hop seriously at all, but from what I’ve heard I’ll say this: the music, such as it is, is deliberately jarring and atonal, which does nothing for me personally, but the lyrics are another story. A lot of them are highly profane, which of course is the point, but a lot of them are incredibly sophisticated and inventive, to the point where I’d say that the best rap lyrics are as good as anything pop music has ever produced. Eninem, arguably the best hip-hip lyricist of the 90s, is a great example: very dark, edgy material, boring musically (to my ears anyway), but on a semantic level just sophisticated beyond belief.

I don’t know much about Ludicris, or about most hip hop artists. But to try and hang Obama because he said he likes a hip hop artist is just the sort of ridiculously out of touch commentary I would expect from a McCain supporter. They said all the same stuff about Bill Clinton in 1992 when he went on Arsenio and MTV, wore shades and played sax, etc etc. In fact, the Republicans said all the same things about the Big Dog that you Republicans are saying today about Obama. And with the same likely result.

I was a Democrat when you were still having bladder accidents at school. I am still a Democrat. What I am NOT is a socialist, a marxist, or a member of any of those other loser fringe parties that failed in America—only to attempt to hijack the Democratic party every other decade or so. Each time, they fail. They fail because the majority of this party does not let radicals and children pick presidents.

But doesn’t the US Government and other similarly-minded governments use blaring “music” to torture people. I have read that in a number of sources and I believe it. I think that the US Government has spent quite a bit of money investigating the effect of different torture techniques on peoples’ mental states.

People like Obama and his genius friend here might be tortured listening to Lawrence Welk. But for me, if I hear this rap noise, my instinctive reaction is to take the biggest sledge hammer I can lay my hands on and smash any mechanical source to pieces. If the source is living, I would probably just start screaming at the top of my lungs and try to climb the walls.

I like music, all kinds of music. I don’t know why I react this way to this type of noise. Maybe the people at Guantanamo could explain it.

Comment by ritamary | 2008-08-01 13:46:39

We are Democrats. And our parents hated rock and roll. My parents refused to listen to it.

Rap music is the music the Obamas apparently choose to play at home. The Obamas are playing this “music” in their home for their young children with lyrics like

And the Obamas are responsible adults?

Also, in regard to the Ludacris lyrics, no other presidential candidate has had a song written for him in which other candidates are described with viciously demeaning language.

Nor has any other presidential candidate had a song written for him promoting one ethnic group over another. Painting the White House black is imagery that will go over so well with the American voter. (What if John Kennedy had a song written for him about painting the White House green?)

hey sfhillary..i call bullshit on your comment: Quote: “The whole point of pop music has always been to shock and upset the older generation. ”

a good deal of the music you listen to today was the baby boomer music..retreaded..

But the rap???..is many times pornographic in nature and brutal to women.

Music many times reflects what is going on in society..and if this rap crap is any indication..the youth in this country are in deep trouble..and very troubled. What a pathetic bunch..

Rev Manning was pretty entertaining today about the Ludacris thing. He’s just shaking his head and laughing, dang that McCain must be luckiest man alive.

You just have to laugh at some of this stuff. I don’t think this campaign could freak out white America harder if it tried. They got Ludacris blessing them with his public relations work and Rev Wright giving speeches on patriotism. Then they bring in Bernie Mac to joke about “hos”.

In case the pot hasn’t been stirred enough, Obambi starts talking about how he doesn’t look like other presidents and how Republicans are trying to make you scared of him. Dude, that’s not Republicans doing that, it’s you and your supporters! Reign those fools in. America might be ready for black president, but I’m pretty sure we aren’t ready for “God da&*ed America” and “bitches and hos”.

Eventually, the media will notice that ludicrous “genius” Ludacris raps so insultingly that:

“McCain don’t belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed.”

One has to wonder if this is a threat, or just a gutter-rat’s lowlife insult to disabled americans–like, say, Max Cleland, or say, troops who have been wounded in the war.

After all, Obama rejected Max Cleland from attending a fundraiser, because he’s a “lobbyist.” Yeah, a lobbyist for a company that helps wounded troops.

I guess disabled Americans are all getting tossed under the bus, too, thanks to Obama and his posse.

“Genius.”

Oh, please.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-08-01 11:47:51

ok now HERE is my honest self stating that the words he used on McCain were the worst (most hateful) and I wish I could personally apologize to McCain for what that (in Uppity’s words and I agree) WHITE TRASH is rapping!

Damn it those Racist Clintons just won’t stop will they Obama!

Maybe they should be strung up as an example of Racism, and we should use Obama’s work with Blacks while a community organizer in Chicago as a real supporter of the Blacks. I wonder what would happen if Eminem made a rap song for McCain, exploiting White supremacy and disabling Obama to a wheelchair. Heck, Eminem couldn’t even rap about Jessie Jackson (as Ludicris did) without being attacked with racist claims.

Any White person would be finished with this type of racist material publicly portrayed.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-08-01 11:47:02

When this turkey goes down on November 4, they can yell “Racism” all they want. The word isn’t Racism. The words will be DISGUST and EMBARRASSMENT. Toss in ARROGANCE. And INEPTITUDE. And AUDACITY. And THREATs.

I have NEVER seen someone ruin his own chances like this. It’s almost as if failure is what they want so that somebody can take the blame that belongs right in Barack Obama and his surrogates’ own laps. His own followers are doing him in–and he’s no slouch at it himself. It’s almost amazing. Well not really. I know of at least two other candidates in my party who were done in by their followers. And it was a wincing experience to watch. And to top it off, they both were polling far better than Obama is right now.

Wrap this one up. John McCain’s campaign, which I have felt was completely comatosed, is really brilliant. They are letting this jerk prance and preen and flap his lips into complete stupidity and defeat. The more his lips flap, the more arrogant, stupid and low he looks. Low Road. Indeed. Brilliant really.

He’s only being himself, uppity woman. He’s trying to hide who he really is; but his true character [the lack of it] keeps leaking out so we can see glimpses of the real Barry.

He loves rap music, including the misogyny and the gangsta-rap posse fantasies; loves JayZ, loves Ludacris, loves the music brought to us by “businessmen” who exploit their own culture for money. Look at the free advertising that Ludacris is getting; it’s nothing but a public relations/marketing game to Ludacris. And, ironically, he’s exploited Obama; a tactic designed to get him even more pr/marketing attention.

Sould be a lesson for Obama; he’s not the only one capable of exploiting others. Obama’s just been taken to the cleaners by one of his own. Hey, Barry, guess what dog? You asked for it.

As for the rest of us, Barry Soetoro keeps exposing–glimpse by nightmarish glimpse– his lifelong choices of association: Ayers, Rezko, Wright, Phleger, Ludacris, JayZ, and on and on. Each time, a little piece of Barry shines through.

You want to know the reason he “uhs” and “ahs” his way through comments, answers, and interviews? It’s the hallmark of a liar, who subconsciously knows he’s lying, but struggles so hard to keep his true self in check that he stammers and stutters and blinks trying to keep the REAL BARRY hidden.

Must be exhausting; maybe that’s why his hair is “going gray.”

As I said, I DO hope every adult who has a Gen Y dependent hanging out (for far too long!),

You gotta love the hubris of the Boomer generation!

Never has there been a generation more full of itself, with fewer accomplishments to its name.

The children of the greatest generation… exactly what did you accomplish?

Your parents beat back fascism… you… allowed Stalinism to fester in the world a generation longer than it would have had you not pissed away your 20s on screwing like bunnies, taking every drug you could get your hands on, and generally stained noble pursuits like love and fellowship with your own self-serving, indulgent desires.

Your parents rid the world of polio, nearly eradicated small pox… you.. built mega-multinational pharmaceutical companies whose goal — rather than to cure anything - is ensure that the world will continually need to feed your bloated bank accounts buying unending ‘treatments’.

What exactly have you done with your lives?

What are your big accomplishments?

The Civil Rights movement?

Please… it’s leaders - the Martin Luther Kings, the Medgar Evers - were not of your generation.

The space race?

Please… again, your fathers — certainly not you. No - blasting into ’space’ with Tim Leary doesn’t count.

The current technological achievements of the internet/digital age?

Nope - all the ground breaking development work was done by your children, not by Bill Gates, Paul Allen company… the ‘IT leaders’ of your generation are nothing but leeches. Money lenders who buy and sell, trade and profit on the work on GenX and GenY developers.

So you have children who won’t leave the nest?

Probably your own fault — they probably haven’t left home because they’ve learned how to be leeches, how to be nothing more than money changers… like you.

We ought to get rid of Social Security — not for the Greatest generation - we’ll keep benefits in place for them…. not for the GenX/GenY/Millenials — just for the Boomers.

You wasted your “time” to achieve — the 60s, 70s, and 80s — an era utterly bereft of accomplishment — so you’ll have to make up for it now.

The world stagnated under your watch — achievements owed to the finishing touches of your parents, regained momentum through the work and ingenuity of your children.

Comment by DoroB | 2008-08-01 11:41:44

I’m actually closer to GenX than GenY — but you’re typing on one of MY generation’s accomplishment right now.

The browser your using? I guarantee you it wasn’t a boomer that wrote the code.

Your ISP?

From the DHCP server to the router to the server farm maintaining your account — I guarantee it was architected, the code written, and being maintained by GenXer/GenYer.

The code powering the platform of this very site?

I guarantee you a boomer didn’t write it.

Comment by wodiej | 2008-08-01 11:56:52

Comment by GenY | 2008-08-01 12:19:31

Yours did?!?!?

Whom exactly did you ’save’ us from?

Your parents fought off the fascists and communism was a doomed ideology from its conception.

Actually - I guess we have found our first Boomer accomplishment: No generation has done more to legislatively curtail civil liberties than yours! Congratulations! From the totalitarian puritans among you that wanted to regulate our bedrooms to the whacky hippies that wanted to regulate our thoughts and speech.

Good job, boomers… Accomplishment #1. You successfully curtailed individual liberties more than any other generation… yet another mess we’ll have to clean up.

I am of the GenX also, but found most of our generation totally ungrateful and have a ego bigger than AT&T Park.

Would you like to go back to the womb and start over without the boomer generation? I am sure that you can get by with sucking air instead of formula, eating grass in your lawn instead of meat and potato, clothes in newspaper instead of cotton, and walk on air like your savior “The One”!!!!

Comment by DoroB | 2008-08-01 13:06:43

The Gen-Y wannabe thought Gen-X should just be around to give birth to the brilliant Gen-Y and then disappear from the face of the earth. The Gen-Y can then write a code to feed, clothe, and house themselves.

Comment by andySF | 2008-08-01 13:27:09

On second though, they might not need food, clothes or shelter. All the “BOT” need is a power outlet, ops, that will need the boomer to pay the bill, try solar panel then.

So obviously we all screwed up since you aren’t breaking your GEN Y azz at manual labor and can sit around, get fat, drive beat up Subarus and play video games.

I don’t put a lot of significance on arbitrary measurements. Everything that has ever been accomplished has been done so by using the foundations that were built by those who came before. Comment by GenY | 2008-08-01 11:56:26

Darn right they’re threats.

Shape up, boomers.

Accomplish something. Give something back to the world. The rest of us — your parents and your children and grandchildren — are still waiting.

Comment by DoroB | 2008-08-01 12:04:25

Look, Gen-Y wannabe, I am sorry that you don’t squarely fit into the Gen-Y category so you can feel at home among those chanting teens. But you know what, your parent generation and sister generation does not have to prove anything to you. They are calling it as they see it: the rap lyrics are degrading and nasty to women. Would you like to make a counter-claim to that?

Comment by GenY | 2008-08-01 12:12:46

Heh.

Don’t worry - women’s rights?

Yet another lost chance that your generation pissed away that we’ll clean up.

Your parents and grandparents - the suffragettes who won the right to vote and entered the workforce - laid the groundwork for you.

And what did you do with it?

Wasted it making up silly words like womyn and what not.

My generation will actually get the job done - ensuring equal, gender-blind pay. Breaking through glass ceilings in the board rooms, in the military, you name it.

Yet another example of the Boomer generation being handed the perfect setup for the next step in social progress and pissing it away on silly fluffiness.

You know why most women of GenX and GenY couldn’t care less about Ludacris’ lyrics? They’re too busy writing their own — you ought to check yourself out some Liz Phair.

They’re too busy actually breaking through barriers and creating an equal footing - not crying and moaning about someone saying something mean.

Jeez… everywhere you look. Boomer ineptitude.

Comment by DoroB | 2008-08-01 12:22:06

How do you break through a glass ceiling without recognizing it for what it is?
Your generation will get the job done? How will you get the job done when you won’t even acknowledge that there is a job to be done? Your generation-whatever it is-not only refused to acknowledge the sexism, you even joined hands and sang Kumbaya with the sexists.
Women from the boomer generation have struggled for decades against sexism in the workplace. Do you think the glass ceiling can be so easily shattered without other women working for years to weaken it for you?
Hubris. Arrogance. Presumptousness. Maybe those are your real accomplishments.

We had great Boomers like William Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn, they came from money and never had to worry about making a living. That way they could tell us how angry they were about this country by BOMBING the PENTAGON, NYC Police Headquarters, a NYC Brownstone bomb-factory the exploded, killing the bombers inside, Looks like Darwin in action. I will say this about the boomers though, they aren’t a bunch of sniveling bitches and pussies like the little computer geeds of today. They might need to reinstate the draft just to get the little geeks away from the mommy and see if they can toughen them up

But those boomers are Obama good friends. Michelle met Bernadine Dohrn at the Law firm where she worked, introduced Barack to the TERRORISTS. Obama knew these folks hated America as much him and his wife, a match made in heaven. Obama sucked up to them, getting on the Board of the Woods Fund and a Chairmanship of the Annenberg Challenge Grant. Obama even launched his first run for State Senate in Ayer’s living room.

Yet, Obama IS a boomer (born in 1961–the “boomer” generation generally refers to those born between 1946 and 1965, inclusive) while Paul is as old as McCain and, technically, neither Paul nor McCain qualify as part of “the Greatest Generation”–that term typically applies to men and women who, as ADULTS, struggled through both the Great Depression AND WWII. McCain and Paul BOTH spent their early childhoods in the tail-end of the Depression and BOTH reached adolescence AFTER WWII was over (Paul was only 10 years old when Japan surrendered, bringing WWII to a complete end). Neither McCain nor Paul were legally old enough to fight in Korea (while many OF the “Greatest Generation” were compelled to fight in Korea, despite their earlier service).
So, while you spend time bashing “boomers” (and then coyly hint that you *might* be a Paul supporter), you fail to recognize that it WAS the “boomers” who led to the internet that you claim is a product of GenX and GenY. You owe YOUR very computer–without which an internet would be unavailable–to “boomers” Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, and the internet itself was created by the pre-boomer and boomer generations of scientists, while the WWW itself was invented by “boomer” Tim Benners-Lee. And, it should be noted that virtually all of the GenXers (and genuine GenYers) who’ve made all these recent advances only did so through procedures begun by “boomers”.

If the boomers are so full of themselves, then why is it most of them are supporting most of you? Your generation was created by us. We created this monster of Narcissism, entitlements and arrogance. I have friends whose kids are still leaching off of them well into their 30s. You all have no problem sucking your parents’ money dry. And you are the very people who will rush to the polls to take away their social security after you have bled them dry and it is their time to retire…….if they ever get that chance.

You wasted your “time” to achieve

And that is exactly what is wrong with your Gen. They think acheiving is a waste of time. They find the concept of socialism and marxism attractive. In ten years you dumb shits will all be saying WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?

As for the lack of “progress” in those three decades, you are benefiting by all of it AND all of the money that was earned in the process. As for “getting rid of social security” the boomer generation’s tax money is supporting the Greatest Generation’s ability to live longer and be well, AND they are supporting YOUR generation as well. Most of the greatest achievers in the Boomer generation can’t even retire because they can’t find replacements who aren’t lazy and want to work more than 30 hours a week whilst spending most of the time playing on a company computer. “Ground breaking”. Indeed. If one of your ipods broke you would be lost. Most of your generation can’t even add without your calculator. You all act “upscale” on the backs of that generation you have the audacity to snort about. Without them, most of you would be living under the goddamned tracks.

You are the people who had time to go intimidate old ladies in caucus, while your parents, who made it easy for you to cut class for caucus, were too busy busting their asses at work.

Incidentally, all those “un-achievers” you mentioned are baby boomers who made it not only possible for your parents to turn you into the spoiled little entitled shits you are, but have also made it possible for YOU to be employed. Now go dump the garbage. Your parents are sick of paying your way.

From Wikipedia,

Impact on history and culture
An indication of the importance put on the impact of the boomer was the selection by Time magazine of the Baby Boom Generation as its 1967 “Man of the Year”. As Claire Raines points out in ‘Beyond Generation X’, “never before in history had youth been so idealized as they were at this moment.” When Generation X came along it had much to live up to and to some degree has always lived in the shadow of the Boomers, more often criticized (‘slackers’, ‘whiners’ and ‘the doom generation’) than not.[25]

One of the contributions made by the Boomer generation appears to be the expansion of individual freedom. Boomers often are associated with the civil rights movement, the feminist cause in the 1970s, gay rights, handicapped rights, and the right to privacy.[6]

Baby boomers presently make up the lion’s share of the political, cultural, industrial, and academic leadership class in the United States. Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, born within sixty days of each other in mid-1946, are the first and second Baby Boomer U.S. presidents, and their careers in office illustrate the wide, often diverging, spectrum of values and attitudes espoused by this largest American generational group to date. To date, baby boomers also have the highest median household incomes in the United States.[citation needed]

How’s that for a starter? And you actually think that Dr. King can get all of it done without the mass support of the boomers? What planet do you live on? a few leader will be kill and jail in no time. You are so funny.

Comment by Buzz Latte | 2008-08-01 13:15:59

Lick the cheeto dust off your fingers and get prepared to enter the draft.

If your parents can’t get you out of the basement, perhaps Obama’s brownshirts will be able to persuade you. No more like compel you to actually do something.

Meanwhile, by sheer numbers, Boomers will still rule, own the largest amount of companies, invent more things, take more risks, advance more in science, technology, medicine, entertainment, and other industries.

Face it, Gen Y, you reincarnated at the wrong time to ever be more than a burger flippin loser.

Without those Machines they would all shut down, big fights at the register over incorrect change.

I agree that Baby Boomers accomplished little. My grandparents worked hard to ensure that what they went through as children didn’t happen to theirs. How can you fault your grandparents for that? How can you fault your parents for how they turned out?

I, personally, lucked out. My parents were never hippies in any sense of the word because they may have been boomers but were not products of suburbia but rural realities and I think that made a huge difference in how myself and the rest of the family turned out.

What happened in the previous generation, I believe, is that people forgot the lessons of the preceding years. My generation is going to have the burden of fixing the crap my parent’s generation broke.

They were a product of their times just as we will be for ours. Realize where they went wrong and deal with it.

And that is certainly a winning strategy to take Social Security away from Boomers only. Have you Obots ever heard that Social Security is the third rail of American politics? You don’t understand what that means?

McCain Camp Says Obama Playing The Race Card:

Senator John McCain’s campaign accused Senator Barack Obama on Thursday of playing “the race card,” citing his remarks that Republicans would try to scare voters by pointing out that he “doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.” The exchange injected racial politics front and center into the general election campaign for the first time, after it became a subtext in the primary between Mr. Obama and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
After Obama supporters disgracefully smeared Bill and Hillary Clinton as race baiters in the Democratic primary, the fairy tale has come home to roost. Now, the McCain camp gets to race bait and get away with it. More . . .

Steve Schmidt, who runs the day-to-day operations of the McCain campaign, said the campaign had been moved to issue the statement in part because it saw the damage done during the Democratic primary when Obama supporters made accusations that former President Bill Clinton had been racially insensitive, or worse.

“The McCain campaign was compelled to respond to this outrageous attack because we will not allow John McCain to be smeared by Senator Obama as a racist for offering legitimate criticism,” he said. “We have waited for months with a sick feeling knowing this moment would come because we watched it incur with President Clinton. Say whatever you want about President Clinton, his record on this issue is above reproach.”

In the Democratic primary campaign, Mr. Obama’s supporters at several occasions accused the Clinton campaign of using racially charged tactics, particularly after Mr. Clinton equated Mr. Obama’s victory in the South Carolina primary with the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s victory in the nominating contest there in 1988. Mr. Clinton himself then complained in a radio interview in April that the Obama campaign had “played the race card on me.”

So McCain has played the ultimate race card - the Jesse Helms “they” play the “victim” to keep “us” down. And it worked. But it only worked because of what was done by Obama supporters in the primary. And, oh by the way, you think this does not appeal to Clinton supporters? Think again. The fairy tale comes home to roost.

After the same “editorial board” slammed Hillary as a demon, the morning after her historic and heroic PA win, I threw the NY Times under the wheels of my gas saving economy car. Old copies of the rag are useful as bird cage liner, fireplace kindling, and for humor.

Ob has my thanks for destroying permanently so many of the institutions I previously took seriously. He turned my whole world upside-down and broke me of many old habits. They should send free packets of kool-aid with every new subscription.

Good for McCain, not only for standing up for Bill Clinton but also for standing up to the once all powerful NYT. Ob’s days of hitting below the belt and getting away with it all are numbered. Hillary and Bill could not call him on it in a way that would stick since it would have hurt THEIR party.

Bill IS what being a Dem was all about, it is now, thanks to ob’s trash-talking, something entirely different and something that will be rejected by those of us who used to form its base.

As for the anchovy above awash in hate for boomers - you and your messiah have no clue. Each generation stands on the shoulders of the giants that preceded it. Us boomers had a “generation gap” which was as defined by a mere glance. We stood out from those who came before and those who came after. We had our moments, we had our faults, but to write off our collective millions in the way you have tried to do is an ignorance only someone who didn’t live through those times could attempt to portray.

I particularly laughed about your “code” argument. My daughter is 30 and was educated (thanks to my hard work) at an ivy league school as an engineer. She uses the code she learned from her boomer educators. A NY friend of mine was key to the analog to digital revolution. He made his obscene fortune by having a patent on a chip in every single IBM computer. He was the typical long hair vegetarian genius with a “space cadet” label of my generation. His established company hired and trained those caltech mit types that were responsible for the dot com rise and fall. He wasn’t hurt by all that, he was the REAL DEAL.

So take your insults somewhere else. My 30 year old is doing something with her life, just like her boomer parents taught her to and more importantly - she appreciates us and what her grandparents did for all of us. You are not a good spokes person for your generation, and neither is ob or ludacris.

Both-ways Barack kept Ludacris in his iPod, was sure to earn that street cred (remember he wasn’t black enough?) by letting Rolling Stone know:

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine to be published on Wednesday, Mr. Obama revealed that his iPod was full of dozens of selections from, top to bottom, Bob Dylan, Ludacris, Sheryl Crow, Jay-Z and Yo-Yo Ma. (Joining perhaps every other Democratic politician alive, he also confessed a deep love for Bruce Springsteen.)

But at the same time as he’s jammin to the bitches and hos in Ludacris’ lyrics, Both-ways Barack says this:

He was referring to a Rolling Stone interview in which Mr. Obama mentioned Ludacris, Jay-Z and Russell Simmons as “great talents and great businessmen.” He also said that “it would be nice if I could have my daughters listen to their music without me worrying that they were getting bad images of themselves.”

Both points were reiterated today by Mr. Burton, “While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.” But the campaign was apparently referring to the misogyny and materialism, and not Ludacris’ bold prediction that would suit it just fine: “The first black president is destined and it’s meant to be.”

Here’s an idea: if you don’t want your daughters exposed to this stuff, get it out of your iPod, stop referring to Ludacris as a great talent and great businessman. Mkay?

I was watching QVC on Saturday (they were part of a charity function in the Hamptons) and Russell Simmons was on air presenting some shirts.

When he was describing the shirts and who would wear them, he mentioned Senator Obama.

The host was kind of like, what?? and just moved on - was kind of an awkward moment.

I do hope Obama has more to say. Turn him loose!

Comment by Tuppence 411 | 2008-08-01 12:50:27

Please explain the meaning of *61. I have seen it frequently, but I don’t get it.

Comment by wodiej | 2008-08-01 13:13:41

some people use *61 as a substitute for Obama’s name. Not sure of the meaning behind it though, maybe his year of birth?

Oh, the lyric is

“Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant.”

Here are the lyrics:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=52f_1217434061&p=1

And the stupid thing is that Ludacris doesn’t seem to understand that his dumb song alienated EVERYONE, including fair-minded blacks. Ludacris doesn’t understand demographics, or the fact that Obama doesn’t have a prayer of winning even a goldfish in a bowl at a carnival without Hillary’s 18 million–so calling her an irrelevant bitch doesn’t help Obama, STUPID LUDA.

Oooh, please, I want to seen Ludacris and Snoop Dog and giving the finger in the White House in front of guests. Let’s see how tacky, trashy and low we can aspire to.

Hillary Clinton asks not to be nominated at Democratic National Convention:

If you read that NY Daily it’s kind of funny. They go on and on about how she won’t have her name on the nomination and then they end with the one little sentance “No decisions have been made at this time.”

Thank you.

I missed that better news.

Those pictures are great finds, Uppity. So Obama will not appear in the same room with Gavin Newsom, will not even tell this to Newsom personally. But he will be photographed with Ludacris while the “bitch” rapper is wearing a “Wanted” t-shirt glorifying the criminal life.

Judgement. Obama’s got interesting judgement.

Dr. Jerome Corsi Claims To Have Tapes of Obama Campaigning For Odinga In Kenya

http://hillbuzz.wordpress.com/2008/08/01/dr-jerome-corsi-claims-to-have-tapes-of-obama-campaiging-for-odinga-in-kenya/

snip:

Dr. Jerome Corsi told Sean Hannity today that he has tapes of Barack Obama campaigning for his cousin, Raila Odinga, in Kenya back in 2006.

Odinga’s trying to overthrow the US-backed government of democratically-elected President Mwai Kibaki, so he can institute shari’a law (fundamentalist merging of religion and state) in Kenya.

Obama campaigned for Odinga as a sitting United States Senator, where he spoke in front of crowds with his cousin Odinga:

There’s a natural train of logic here that could be very damaging for Obama in the general election if Corsi actually does possess footage of Obama’s Kenyan campaign tour:

(1) Odinga’s supporters are determined to overthrow the Kenyan government, so his campaign appearances would address that as his chief goal.

(2) By nature of wanting to overthrow the Kenyan government, Odinga’s supporters are anti-American, since the Kenyan government is US-backed (and at least partially reliant on the US for stability).

(3) A successful campaign by Odinga would mean making anti-American statements, coupled with anti-Kenyan government statements, at campaign stops to rev up his followers.

(4) Obama appeared at campaign rallies with Odinga in Kenya, for Odinga’s followers.

that “rap” was disgusting. I had blogged about it yesterday and got several hits calling me a racist just because I thought it was atrocious. I took the most disgusting one and just erased everything but the salutation and left “The chiten giveth, the chiten taketh away, the chiten makes nasty posts nice :)”
Haven’t had a response yet though LMAO

I had a couple of people trying to tell me Obama isn’t resposible for this song so he doesn’t need to do anything about it.

LOL, okay, he’s not my candidate. If he doesn’t mind having this song play across the heartland of America come November, I guess that’s up to him.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-08-01 15:32:20

Until Obama publicly condemns the “song”, he owns it.

If any of these Obama supporters play the market let’s see how they like paying an additional 12% in taxes on their “Mad Money.” These freaks are just today’s hippies. It didn’t work then & it won’t work now. Every generation has to learn it the hard way. The have nots always want to rip off the haves, nothin’ new here. Only the music & literacy rates have changed. Give Obama 2 yrs in office & watch the economy crash. It’ll make Bush’s recession look like good times. Anyone that believes only people earning more than 250K a yr will get fleeced is soooo naive.

Comment by Ani | 2008-08-01 14:23:31

Uppity, you said it all. We are not ‘hating’ on anybody. We just want someone who is actually qualified to lead us out of the mess. Pardon us if we don’t just lay down by the side of the road unconscious so he can proceed to the White House without us voting first.

Please stop engaging Obama supporters in the tit for tat arguments about age etc. They are brain-dead and following their hopey-changey strategy of being the kool-kids. Its useless to engage them in intelligent conversation.

Not only is Barack Obama a babyboomer, he and Michelle are old enough to have parented his most rabid followers. Wonder what these college age Obama worshippers would think if their 47 year old dad had ludicris on his i-pod? That old pops was losing it maybe?

Comment by Raven | 2008-08-01 16:31:10

Not being a Luda fan I had the extreme displeasure
of reading lyrics to some of his other songs. I did
at the urging of those who said, I should keep an
open mind about him. Pul-lease.
He may have talent but, his choice to use it in this manner to “lessen” himself and those he “raps”
about…”hos” and others, leaves me cold.
Again, Obama had shown himself to be hypocrit on this subject.
Overall…that “risky” thing Obama has been concerned about. This is what he brings on himself!

Comment by JohninCA | 2008-08-01 17:19:25

From the Ludacris outburst against John McCain,
Mr. Obama has nothing to gain.
In puerilities Ludacris couches his songs
While the country for better leadership longs.
I make bold to say, in a cadence and rhyme
That the voters will have their say in due time
So while Bush makes as if to return to the ranch
McCain may be holding the Executive Branch.

Comment by Donovan | 2009-01-28 03:21:20

Haha!!! This thread is ridiculous. A whole bunch of clueless people preaching to the choir. Ludacris is funny as hell and The writer sounds uneducated and spiteful. the comments i see above just make me want to puke and I’m really surprised by a lot of the views here. Were you all watching the same campaign. Whatever. The country spoke (in droves) and it’s pretty clear that obama is who the United States wants to lead their country, not McCain. Thank the Lord!

Comment by Donovan | 2009-01-28 03:28:15

hmmm, and, do any of you guys like the beetles? they have a lot of lyrics about sex and drugs, and the beach boys did TONS of drugs. If I said I liked them would i be endorsing all that? get a grip
