The Race Card: The “chickens are coming home to roost” for Obama supporters
By SusanUnPC on August 2, 2008 at 3:30 PM in Barack Obama, Race Card
As Big Tent Democrat, an Obama supporter, admitted in “The Fairy Tale Revisited” (Talk Left): “The big hook for McCain is the fact that Obama supporters disgracefully smeared Bill and Hillary Clinton during the Democratic primaries.” BTD includes the New York Times columnist Bob Herbert, whose latest column consists of whining about the McCain campaign (successfully) jumping all over Obama for introducing the race card himself:
Here’s the problem — Bob Herbert spent the entire Democratic primary accusing Bill and Hillary Clinton of having no class, being persons without scruples and of playing the race card. He is now disqualified from pushing back against John McCain’s race baiting and disgraceful campaign. Indeed, McCain welcomes a blast from Bob Herbert. Why? Because he can quote what Herbert wrote and said about Bill and Hillary Clinton. More . . . (Read all — it’s great.)
What goes around, comes around. And the McCain campaign has handled this “hot potato” just right. Take a look at this, via Fox News:
Back in March, our great writer Bud White wrote a highly thoughtful piece on exploiting the race card, drawing on the writings of George Packer and Sean Wilentz (perhaps one of the most insightful writers we are privileged to read):
Bud White chose a provocative title: “Is Barack Obama the George Wallace of the Left?”
Here is what Bud wrote:
The code words are different this time around. Instead of appealing to whites’ fears of forced integration by mentioning busing, Obama has elicited black prejudice by using terms like like hoodwinked, bamboozled, and okie-doke.
Can you imagine another prominent African American politician using this language? Can you see the dignified Colin Powell using this dog-whistle? How about the politically moderate Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council, Harold Ford, Jr.? Or the passionate Congresswoman Sheila Lee Jackson? Never. To truly transcend race is to reject the use of race in a divisive manner. Not only has Obama not rejected using race divisively, he has given birth to a whole new justification for the use of bigoted and racially divisive language and innuendo. In fact, Obama is exploiting the pain of racism experienced by African Americans to manipulate the emotions of anger and guilt as rallying cries for his ambitious assent to power.
The decision by Obama to use race against both Clintons has been well-documented and brutally effective. Obama has elicited black racism and defended it by appealing to white guilt. His defense of Revered Wright’s anti-American, anti-white racism was political contortionism in the extreme. His comment following his speech that his grandmother was a “typical white person” solidified for many people that Obama was not just of Rev. Wright’s church, but also one of Wright’s most enthusiastic disciples.
In many ways, Obama is the opposite of who he proclaims himself to be. He claims to be from outside of Washington, even while serving in the United States Senate, and his candidacy is supported by the Party’s most powerful powerbrokers.
He claims to be post-racial while practicing racial politics. As Christopher Hitchens, no friend of Mrs. Clinton, writes about Obama’s excuses for Revered Wright: “[I]s it ‘inflammatory’ to say that AIDS and drugs are wrecking the black community because the white power structure wishes it? No. Nor is it ‘controversial.’ It is wicked and stupid and false to say such a thing. And it not unimportantly negates everything that Obama says he stands for by way of advocating dignity and responsibility over the sick cults of paranoia and victimhood.”
Because Obama’s candidacy is based on his biography and race, the Left - including most liberal bloggers, The Nation magazine, George Packer of the New Yorker, MoveOn.org - have endorsed Obama for offering a “transformative” opportunity. This is simply a code word for purifying the nation by electing a black man. It’s tokenism in the extreme, and it’s significant that none of the liberal elites have endorsed Obama for his policy proposals, which as Paul Krugman has pointed out are rather impotent and to the right of Hillary Clinton.
If we are going to elect someone because of their color, it should be because that person wants to heal the nation. For example, Nelson Mandela, upon becoming the first Black president of South Africa formed the Truth and Reconciliation commission, refused to hate the whites who imprisoned him and his countrymen, and insisted that one form of hate could not replace another.
Obama says “the anger is real” in the black community. If that is the case, we must meet our racist heritage with a genuine attack on all racism, including the racism that Obama is generating against non-blacks.
As PM comments on mydd.com:
What Obama has done is to open all kinds of wounds without offering remedies. He has successfully divided the Democratic Party by using race for everything as his campaign/political strategy for political gain.
He has painted both blacks and whites with very broad strokes, almost offensively — equating blacks like Mayor Nutter and others with his pastor or equating whites who have always stood up for the welfare of black people as a typical white person (by implication racist).
Large sections of both groups on either side have consciously moved to make race relations better. But here is a vile politician who when caught with his hateful pastor has brought back the worst of the two groups and calling that the state of the union for his own political gain. America is not full of Archie Bunker types neither is it full of pastor Wrights.
This situation of Obama and Wright is just between those two — the indiscretion of a guy (who perhaps never planned to run for the highest office) associating with a pastor who preaches anti-American sermons. If some people, most people find it unacceptable in a future president, that is their prerogative and right. This Wright scandal has nothing to do with race, I repeat, nothing to do with race. For him to have made it such, is something to be shunned.
Obama’s racial politics are not the overt racism of George Wallace standing at a school door and proclaiming “segregation now, segregation forever.” It is the more odious kind; it’s the accusation of racism when none existed, the implication, the dog-whistle, and the double entendre. It is perhaps more divisive and hateful because it’s nearly impossible to defend yourself from the accusation. Bill Clinton really was saying that Obama’s position on the Iraq War was a “fairly tale.” It really did take Martin Luther King and Lyndon Johnson to pass Civil Rights legislation.
As Sean Wilentz writes in The New Republic regarding Obama’s use of race: “A review of what actually happened shows that the charges that the Clintons played the `race card’ were not simply false; they were deliberately manufactured by the Obama camp and trumpeted by a credulous and/or compliant press corps in order to strip away her once formidable majority among black voters and to outrage affluent, college-educated white liberals as well as college students.”
The absurdity of the accusation regarding the Clintons’ alleged use of race brings into relief Obama’s repugnant racial strategy. In Democratic primaries and in the General Election, Clinton clearly would want to have as many black supporters as possible.
To paraphrase Senator Ted Kennedy speaking of George Wallace, Obama’s racial politics not only need to be repudiated, they need to be defeated. As Democrats, if we are to be congruent with who we say we are, we must wash the stain of racial politics from our party forever.
I could no more vote for Obama than I could vote for George Wallace, and the reasons are much the same.

No, for the Misogynist in Chief it would be like this:
The Roosters are coming home to Chicks.
Don’t you forget it, sweetie.
Like Tony Soprano seeing the Geese outside his window, I saw a young Wild Turkey yesterday at work outside the window…..Didn’t know if it was time for lunch or the shrink.
And this is WHoWHat the Dems are wanting me to vote for?
Sorry I don’t subscribe to any of it.
The saddest part of his racist campaign is that it set race relations back at least 50 years.
He reenforced the sterotype and pandered to the worst of both races.
When people learn from each other all gain.
When people hate and fear each other all lose.
Most people no matter what their race are all looking for a better life for themselves and their families.
He should be held accountable for the damage that his campaign has done.
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS AND BUBBAS RULE
BTD today has banned the use of the word “brother” at TL. Anyone who criticized his decision to censor was threatened with being permanently banned from commenting in any of his posts.
That’s what the Obama campaign has given to this country. Nothing progressive about race relations when censorship of words goes all the way down to “brother”.
i don’t agree with btd on that issue. but i will say he is bringing up very important issues and doing his best to manage a group that have very different views.
He lost me a long time ago, when he told someone he would “despise” them for working against Obama (this before the stolen primary ended). I respect them for keeping legally problematic words and posts off, but this is too silly, that we can’t use words. Every day there is another one. Oh, BROTHER! Brother, can you spare me a dime. Band of Brothers. Brotherly love. What are we going to do?
Chickens home to roost? Obama has broken all the eggs and he can’t put them back in the shell. This is so sad.
And all the King’s bots couldn’t put them together again.
Sorry for the off topic, but just got an Action Alert from Hillary Grassroots, so am passing it on. Huffpoo is also perpetuating this lie.

NY DAILY NEWS LIES & MANIPULATES
– You can stop this media manipulation by taking action.
**********************************************************
Please get the word out to EVERYONE to call the NY Daily News RIGHT NOW and DEMAND an immediate retraction of the Michael Saul story. 212-210-1565 or 212-210-2100. The story is absolutely factually false! HRC herself advised last night at a fundraiser in CA that the truest path to true Unity for the Democratic party is to give her delegates the chance to vote for her at the convention. In order to do that, her name MUST be in nomination. She also never told her delegates to “vote for Obama”. She said to support him, but that is not equivalent to telling them to vote for him at the convention.
Threaten to go after their advertisers if they do not retract this story IMMEDIATELY!
I just called the first number and he wouldn’t identify himself and wanted to know where I had gotten this extension. Of course, I didn’t tell him and just said I’m calling to demand a retraction to be printed for the Michael Saul article. And then hung up!!! So they are getting a lot of calls!
Keep it up people!
J.
pain of racism experienced by African Americans to manipulate the emotions of anger and guilt as rallying cries for his ambitious assent to power….
Obama a mulit millionaire who lives in a massive mansion sends his children to private schools and what is it we ookie dokie types are doing that harmed him exactly….
what no private plane oh yeah forgot he has that as well….NEXT
Well, you can bet he doesn’t get to borrow JESSIE’S plane any more!
thank you Susan. And thank you again Bud. I recommended this piece on MYDD when it went up, that is around when the ‘purges’ began of all free speech on certain blogs.
It is good to see MAC call it what it is IMMEDIATELY FULL OUT CALL IT, no trying to appease -in shock that anyone in this community could POSSIBLY BELIEVE in their hearts that BILL AND HILLARY CLINTON are racist. It is beyond all reason by any objective person.
No more of this shxt Uhhhbama
as we said to our party months ago, this will not fly in the GE against the GOP, here we are.
As Uppity says so well:

WooT!
Hey all real quick. I went out on the first to pick up the book I pre ordered from Books a Million. Went up there and was told by the lady in customer service that the street date for the book was the 5th. She even called (supposedly) another store.
Anyway after reading the previous thread about them lying about it being in stock I called. Long story short they have the book. After stating I wanted to contact there corporate headquarters there whole tune changed.
The store had out all other Obama books but not this one. This is big. They are actually attempting to suppress this books sales. I am on Fort Bragg but I went to one of the bookstores here in Fayetteville.
Now they “have” the book and I am about to pick it up. I am amazed. Simply amazed. This should scare anyone. I cannot believe that this is how far people are willing to go to get this man elected and to suppress unfavorable information.
Our country cannot go this route. What are we coming to when a book, a book is attempted to be hidden based on information. This is an example of what a presidency by Senator Obama would look like and it scares me down to my soul
soldier4hillary
My father got his copy at Costco in California yesterday, they at least had one of their book tables full of them, and he said they were selling like crazy.
Why on earth would these fools try to suppress this book, I swear I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am.
It is scary, man just really way out there.
P.S.Hooah Ft Bragg-82nd! Talked to my son yesterday in country, said it is 142 degrees, he is still trying to figure a way for me to ship garlic bread to him.
What part of California? Glad to hear it’s selling like crazy. With the title like “The Real Barack Obama” I can see why - voters are asking who the frick is this guy?
Bay Area, Vallejo Costo
I find nothing online. What is the title of the book, name of the author?
If there is a revealing book on Obama, I want to support the author.
Contact a local news agency and see if they will do a story on this.
I am anticipating voter fraud and other dirty tactics by the Obama campaign during this election.
they very well could be trying to supress the book. or they promised all the books they have to friends and others. if it is that popular, that might be the case.
Very powerful Susan. I’m so sick of Oblowme’s black v. white world.
Oblowme should have been careful what he
wishedbitched for, huh?I think that Colin Powell is traitorous piece of shit for selling the Iraq war to the U.N., which couldn’t have been done without him.
And he’ll side with Oblowme because he’s black.
But he doesn’t talk BLT the Oblowmes, Wright, and Farrakhan.
Sorry, I think that Colin Powell is a traitorous piece of shit for selling the Iraq war to the U.N., which couldn’t have been done without him.
But he doesn’t talk BLT like the Oblowmes, Wright, and Farrakhan.
Please, let me defend Colin Powell. He got terribly used in his UN speech, and it was the low point of his otherwise highly honorable career. He has admitted that and has said he very much regretted his participation in selling the war.
Someone who can admit when he is terribly wrong is a rare thing in American politics. Had Powell run for President 8 years ago, he undoubtedly would have been elected, and we would have had a campaign free from the racial divide that we are seeing now.
Put me in the camp with those who are not willing to forgive Obama for sliming the Clintons with the race card before South Carolina. It is a matter of the chickens coming home to roost.
Yes, I respect Colin Powell too. Powell is a guy who spent his life honorably carrying out the orders of the commander in chief. Unfortunately for him, George Bush and Dick Cheney are two men without honor.
Well he could have admitted that before many many lives were lost, but yes I am in the also “camp with those who are not willing to forgive Obama for sliming the Clintons with the race card before South Carolina. It is a matter of the chickens coming home to roost. But I also believe the DNC DEAN Pelosi, Kennedy are just as guilty Senator Claire McCaskill Missouri is someone I would by a primary home in her State so I could vote against her I will definitely fund an opponent when she runs in 10. Thus no way I vote for a puppet co enabler in the white house that’s the would be the true 3rd Bush term …
Powell was anticipating running in 1996 on the Republican ticket against Clinton but purportedly his wife did not want him to go through with it. I don’t think he has considered a run since. There was a good chance that he would have gotten the Republican nomination. He that happened I would have been curious as to the percent of black vote he would have gotten.
How did Powell he get used?
He isn’t a child.
Powell used the very thinnest of evidence - Valerie Plame’s words - to sell this war.
And I do mean sell.
Powell should have resigned and spoken out about the fraud being perpetrated.
It was his duty to do so.
Powell chose instead to be a willing co-conspirator.
Ambassador Wilson spoke out. That took courage.
Powell wasn’t a con-conspirator, he was lied to. Information the CIA had was deliberately kept from him. He testified in good faith. His honor was used as a front for the lies of dishonorable men. Afterward, he’s had the class to take a hit to his reputation that he didn’t deserve rather than to publicly discredit the Commander in Chief he had sworn to serve.
Powell’s only fault is that he’s true and loyal soldier.
Powell has a thick coating of mendacity from a lot of sleazy shit he pulled trying to cover up My Lai…if you’re old enough to remember.
So let’s not make a god out of him. He does what he’s told, snappily and stylishly. Exactly what we like in our professional soldiers. He’s a bright, industrious man.
Possibly, NOT being descended from slaves in the US tempers him out a bit. His family were Jamaicans, and VOLUNTARY Immigrants.
US Slaves were INVOLUNTARY IMMIGRANTS.
Your fault is that you are a moron.
Like every Secretary of State will be any different in their position, Yeah right. Majority of the senate voted for the war base on the same information given to him.
He’s an Honorable man, deal with it.
He left the Bush administration because of that. Until the day he endorse Obama, I ‘ll respect that man. I would vote for him over Obama or Bush or Kerry any day.
What planet are you on? Bush, Kerry, and Powell are not running. And you don’t vote any day you want. Deal with it.
Ha Ha, Spin….
You might want to check but I heard he IS endorsing Obama.
He refused to talk about the election and who he supports on the Bill Bennett radio show and Bennett said it was b/c he heard he was endorsing Obama.
I hear that as well, that’s why I said until he does.
As I said, if he endorse Obama, he lost my respect. That mean the color of skin means more to him than integrity.
Who had the power to do that? The Obama campaign was waiting for an opportunity to charge racism, but the media had to hype the outrage.
Ah Ha! You mentioned chickens. Therefore you are implying that all black people like chicken. You are perpetuating a racial stereotype. /snark
I’m telling you some Obama supporter(s) somewhere will make that leap of logic.
Therefore, all reference to chickens is now prohibited.
Look it up. It’s in the new Obama Dictionary.
No more 8-balls
No more galactic cores
The piano will henceforth have only white keys.
Oops, can’t have all white. All black then…oops. Intercourse the piano.
no white house either!
go read about the “black hole”. i saw this happening when obama started his bull in before the sc primary. there will be those in any community who will carry it too far. that is happening and the majority will cut them off and out of the power positions.
This mulatto fookin piece of shet. I will never vote for this lieing gasbag. Fraudbama bites the big one.
That’s not a racist comment, of course, so suggesting that there’s ever any racial undercurrent to perceptions of Barack Obama would be an entirely unfair accusation…
ziggy -
No, there isn’t anything racist about it.
Thanks for yet another glimpse into the mind of a constantly using the race card Oblowme supporter.
“Mulatto” is generally considered to have pejorative connotations, owing to the fact that in the south of the country mulattos inherited slave status if their mothers were slaves. Throwing that word into a string including “fookin piece of shet” leaves little doubt in my mind that the word isn’t being used as a neutral descriptive adjective.
Pardon me for understanding what’s being said, and for playing the race card by mentioning it.
Trolls are generally considered to be idiots.
Embracing BLT leaves little doubt of racism by your candidate.
Black liberation theology makes perfect sense if you happen to be part of a minority community that’s historically been subjected to oppression, when effects of that historical oppression still linger. It’s racial and cultural identity affirmation in a Christian spiritual context.
Which isn’t to say that I believe Obama embraces it. Only that he was comfortable in the Christian community context where it was found.
I don’t even believe that Rev. Wright is fundamentally racist. Not in the way that a white supremacist would be.
Black Liberation theology makes sense? Bwah Ha Ha Ha Ha. It can’t make sense. It works against this tried and true principle: Free your mind and your ass will follow
The only difference between Reverend Wrong and a white supremacist is skin color. Your selective use of the race card is transparent.
That’s absurd.
Visit and read the webpages belonging to the Trinity United Church of Christ.
Spend some time reading through forum threads on Stormfront.
Then tell me again there’s no difference.
A fundamental tenet of racism used by white supremacists, NAZI’s and black liberation theologians to motivate their followers is that “the other” is responsible for your lot in life. For white supremacists, it the was blacks. For Nazi’s, it was jews. For BLTers, it was whites. There’s no escaping it.
You are either a black with a chip on his shoulder (like Wright) or a white loaded with guilt (like Phleger) — either way you are a loser.
Tell your leadership that you are woefully falling on your face.
I’ve seen enough. I don’t have to wallow in the mud to know it it’s mud.
bullshit, ziggy! don’t try and run that crap here.
I don’t give a rat’s ass what you believe since you have about as much credibility as Obama. Obama sat in Wright’s church for 20 years, dumbass.
If you are the best Obama has to offer for support then the chosen one is done.
Stupid is as stupid does.
I know I have watched LBJ (Civil Rights Yrs) three times since he pulled the race card on Bill and Hillary and I ball like a baby each time. You know the part that really bothers, if you get right down to it, Obama is bi-racial….and I am not being racist!
The words “hoodwinked” and “bamboozled” also betray Obama’s strange habit of accusing other people of what he himself is doing.

everything is about barrak! and there is nothing about america or americans. the democrats are turning into worse thugs than republicans.
Right he does not look like all the other past Presidents and that means he has no experience. What does Obama feel that all Americans are dumb or that he is just too bright?
I guess painting the White House Black is also just a new type of decorating scheme the Obama’s would like to brings us, according to his buddy Luda who is urging black people to get out and vote. There is no where in his new song that he is telling blacks to vote for Obama because he is the best candidate, what he is saying is support Obama because he is black, does not matter if Obama is dumb as a door knob just support the black man that looks like you do.
We have really reached the pits in this country, and I just hope that there are a lot more sensible people out there going to vote that will see right through all of this and know we do not need this kind of racial nonsense in America now, we lost Hillary because of this crap from OBama lets not lose Mc Cain.
I hope Mac wins.
Or I hope there is a huge upset at the convention.
I think this is a fake Lou.
Speculation Clinton May Give Important Speech at Convention…Let’s hope it’s the EXCEPTANCE SPEECH.!!!

ACCEPTANCE SORRY
Yes, Yes YOU GOT IT.
We have not forgotten South Carolina, Florida and Michigan.
For us, We will not be voting for Obama, it does not matter who the runnig mate would be. We hope our Sen. Hillary Clinton is not asked.
We are democrats to the core.
We do not follow blindly.
I hope Clinton is asked so she has the opportunity to turn Obuma down and lecture him. After all of his crap she put up with she is entitled to read Obuma the riot act.
Wonderful article and citations. I’ve sent them around already.
Again I hear on the MSM yesterday about the polls: “Older persons are afraid of the other, and race is mixed up with this.” So is perception, acumen, and life experience to judge Bobo as a faux, false, phony fraud. Note: “older” must mean males and females of all ages. “Bitter, old” also seem to be code words.

Senator McCain’s positions on many issues are not mine. However, he has the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the Obot bullies. Thank you, John McCain.
I have been trying to think of any politician in my lifetime who is more divisive than Obama. At first I was thinking of George Wallace. But considering all the ways that Obama has tried to exploit race, gender, age, and social class I believe Barack Obama is worse than George Wallace. Yes, he is worse than George Wallace.
How about Abraham Lincoln? His election led to open civil war, remember? Or FDR? There were people who still hated FDR passionately 20 years after his death. JFK? LBJ? Richard Nixon? Ronald Reagan? William Jefferson Clinton? The right polarized America, tried to destroy Clinton by every available means, and continued heated attacks on his record and reputation long after he was out of office. Or, the All-Time Winner for presidents promoting national divisiveness: George W. Bush?
(Admittedly Lincoln and FDR were probably elected before you were born.)
so who gives a fuxx! you sure don’t. we know our history, and i recommend you learn yours.
So if Obama does the same it’s okay? Lincoln called for the nation to come together. See the Gettysburg address.
FDR was hated by his own party. The Democrats didn’t want him and fought to keep him off of the ballot.
LBJ pushed for the passage of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights act.
JFK? No one really knows what happened with him. He wasn’t President long enough.
Richard Nixon was a construct of his own party. What does that have to do with the Democratic Party?
Ronald Reagan was a great actor and was beloved by the media. Just like Obama.
The so-called Progressive left brought up every old Bill Clinton scandal in an effort to derail Hillary Clinton’s candidacy. The right weren’t the only ones that tried to destroy the Clintons. Where was the left’s defense of Hillary when she was being called a b*tch and a wh*re? Their hands are not clean.
GWB? Also a construct of the media. The media got behind GWB flaws and all. They refused to report, for quite some time, on his flaws and policies. It was all about his personality and GWB being someone “you’d like to have a beer with”. Just like Obama.
Lincoln actually held the nation together — what rock did you crawl out from under? Or are you just trying to lobby early to supplant Obama on the 5 dollar bill?
I agree, Obama is the bottom of the barrel.
A member of TUCC said:
Obama might be indicted on Donald Young’s Murder.
All 3 gay men that were murdered had sex with Sen. Obama might talk against Obama.
Donald Young signed an affidavit with police and told them he was scared Obama wanted to kill him.
That he had sex with Obama numerous times in Church offices filmed by Rev Wright.
No wonder Rev. Wright holds cards over Obama!
I just found this out!
Pastor Manning appeal to McCain
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhh5-jFIZG4
Please send light and prayers to Dr. Manning as he stands up to the bullies and speaks the truth. He has been threatened on a daily basis but still speaks the truth. He lives in jeopardy daily.
No truer words have been spoken Mr. Wilenz. I believe in my heart that Bill Clinton is still reeling from this. I know I would be.
BTD is correct over at Talk Left…The NY Times was compliant and therefore just as culpable as Axelrove et.al., in perpetrating this smear.
Now Obama operates with impunity because no one calls him on this shit.
I not only hope the chickens come home to roost, I hope the vultures pick at the road-kill.
I know that’s ugly and harsh, but that’s where these arrogant imbeciles have pushed me…and I don’t think I’m alone in finding myself there!
Obama’s success of playing the race card against the Clintons means he will play it against anyone and quite frankly it is the only card he has.
McCain’s campaign knew the race card was coming and called Obama on it off the bat which was wise. They need to continue calling Obama on it since the race card is the only leg holding him up.

Obama wrote: “I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views.”
Oblahblah is a blank screen alright. As far a projection goes, I’ll pass.
“To paraphrase Senator Ted Kennedy speaking of George Wallace, Obama’s racial politics not only need to be repudiated, they need to be defeated.”
Agreed.
Why was Kennedy so quick to get on Obama’s bandwagan and endorse him without knowing anything about him? And why did he not withdraw his support for Obama when the Wright tapes came out? Kennedy bares much of the blame for Obama picking up steam by an early endorsement but failed to show any leadership or backbone by relinquishing his support when Obama’s true character was revealed. Does Kennedy think he is too big to admit a mistake?
It is not the way someone comes into this world but the way they go out and Kennedy is going out on the bottom.

Can someone please make a dollar bill with Barack Obama face on it. Hopefully then he will stop whinning and complaining. The problem with Obama is not his race. It’s his dam HUge Ego!!!!! Barack Obama wants to do what Hugo Chavez did to Exxon Mobile Profits in Venzuela. Obama is obsessed with taking from the Haves and giving to the Haves Not. He will plunge this nation in economic disaster with thsoe socialist policies.
If Obama gets elected he will expect to supplant Washington or Lincoln on the one or five dollar bill. It would be apt if they make a phony 3 dollar bill with Obama’s face on it.
barky wants to be on the million dollar bill
The Affirmative Action Note.
Doesn’t Obama want to exceed the $100,000,000,000 bill that Zimbabwe has (which is worth $10 US)? Any currency with Obama’s face on it will be practically worthless as well.
The value of the dollar in your pocket has dropped 41 percent since George W. Bush was in office. It probably has to do with fact that he’s run up more debt than all other presidential administrations in U.S. history. Combined.
McCain says he’ll do what differently? Apparently I missed that.
Obama has voted in favor of PAY-GO the last three times the vote has come up in the Senate.
You might want to check John McCain’s fiscal policy proposals carefully. Unless you want to be carrying a worthless wad of republican Monopoly money in your pocket four years from now.
The value of your brain has dropped by 90% since you supported Obama.
Obama favors reparations and I don’t need to give any of my money to somebody who wants a free handout.
If I need any of your advice I will ask for it but don’t hold your breath.
You must be shaking that everyone is not falling in line for the chosen one. You underestimated people.
Actually I have hopes that the American voters will get past the republican smoke screen and take a close look at the facts. Facts are an enormous problem for the republicans. That’s why they’re devoting most of their time and money toward trying to discredit Obama personally. We aren’t hearing very much about the specifics of what John McCain actually plans to do, are we?
I don’t expect anyone to take my advice about anything. I just keep mentioning certain facts, and pointing out the recurring b.s. People can figure out what the facts mean for themselves.
Too bad Obama chickened out on town hall debates with Hillary and now McCain….then maybe we could talk more about those “facts”….somehow I don’t think control freak Obama wants to really talk about facts. Those pesky questions keep coming up when you have a real town hall debate. Not to mention, no teleprompter.
Don’t worry. You’ll get your one-on-one debates when the election gets closer, and we’ll see just how quick each candidate is on his feet. I’ve seen what Obama can do without a teleprompter. A fairly balanced town hall meeting crowd will have plenty of pesky questions for both candidates.
Don’t you think it would be inappropriate to hold debates before either party has held its convention?
I’ve learned this primary season that conventions are meaningless…as are primaries and caucuses. We should have had McCain and Obama debate back in December since we know now, the fix was in. But he wouldn’t have done that becaue the truth is Obama is afraid of town hall debates, no matter how flippant your reply.
You don’t even try to hide yourself — the guy named “Ziggy” is always the crook.
If anyone wants to take a look at the facts they can see that Obama is a racist, with no experience, no judgment, no leadership, no integrity, no character, no crediblity, and changes positions on a whim. Pathetic.
And you have been assigned the task of promoting this empty suit for $7 an hour. You have no credibility either.
I also noted that in the campaign speeches Obama was giving when he pulled out the race card again, he seems to have developed a much more ’southern’ sounding accent than he had before. Normally people who have spent their entire lives in Hawaii, Indonesia, Chicago, and Cambridge Mass do not end up with southern accents.
??
Kal I noticed it too, often people change the sound of their dialect of origin, to be more “accepting” to the area they are speaking in. I am from California, but live in TN, there is no escaping the fact I am not from here, but it doesn’t cause any problems for me. It would be rude and phony for me to fake a TN accent, and not well received, much better to just be myself. When someone has to go to the extreme of changing natural vocal intonations to be accepted, there is a much bigger problem going on inside that person. Also families have their own “speak” which is usually nicknames and code words for different things in the family, for example everyone has their own name for what a Grandmother is. When a person either feels relaxed or wants to convince a closeness exists, there will be more of the nickname/code speak that occurs.
Also meant to mention if a person has a natural accent from the area they lived in, it will re assert itself when they are in that environment again.
I am old enough to remember the Wallace days, and I was repulsed by the photos of whites, in their dress clothes, jeering at youngsters on the sidewalk walking to school. I knew, that they were wrong, and have never forgotten. For this Chicago Creep to undo all the progress this country has made literally sickens me! The Clintons have many lasting friendships and relationships in the AA community, but those are tested now…because of a cowardly snake-in-the-grass!!!!
How times change. Now go to the south side of Chicago or any major city and you need a bullet proof vest.
What makes you think Obama is going to undo all the progress this country has made? Where do people get these ideas? I’m not even sure what that statement means.
Obama and a democratic Congress might undo some of the things the republican party has done over the 12 years they totally dominated Congress, and over the 8 years Bush controlled the Executive Branch–often circumventing legislated law that got in his way by Executive Orders and Signing Statements. But that’s the whole point. What “republican progress” of the last 12 years should we be worried about undoing? The economy? Fiscal policy? Border security? Food, drug, and product safety? The safety of commercial aircrafts? Job outsourcing? The trade imbalance? Energy policy? Tax equity? National disaster preparedness and response? The value of the dollar? Infrastructure collapse? Outsourcing of vital national defense technology? It’s got to be a pretty short list.
One word: Zimbabwe
If you think the US is a hell hole then take a good look around the world. There is a long way we could drop to hit the bottom.
Don’t you have a BLT class to attend?
We’re not talking about Zimbabwe, are we?
Just how far do we need to drop before you finally become concerned about the fact that we’re going down?
The only BLTs I actually give a rat’s ass about involve bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. The theology only concerns me to the point of understanding it enough not to be frightened by it. It’s not especially relevant to Obama anyway.
LOL you don’t have to be frightened by a crack pot to oppose him sitting in the oval office for four years. BOBO should run for president of his old church. He’ll fit right in.
“Just how far do we need to drop before you finally become concerned about the fact that we’re going down?”
One word: Obama.
Everyone should be concerned at this point. Whether you are a black with a chip on your shoulder or a guilty white you people need to get together and reslove your problem amongst yourself without trying to take the nation down with Obama.
Use Phleger as a mediator and let the white guilters turn over their 401ks to the black chippers until all are satisfied. Have Phleger issue a certificate to white guilters proclaiming them free of guilt and a ceritificate to black chippers proclaiming them as satisfied with their reparations. That may solve your problems without you idiots forcing your BS on the rest of us.
I knew it was getting crowded but this is ridiculous.

Man, I’m in grad school and you cannot imagine what it is like to be surrounded by Obamabots. There’s one AA guy that I’ve had two classes with (I’m doing summer classes now) and last semester he went on this hughe tirade about how awful Bill Clinton’s presidfency was to blacks. I let him have some facts, but it does not change anything. I’m in Ohio and this professor has already declared that Obama will be the next president. All the rich kid white students just adore Obama. One of them hadthe “audacity” to compare him to JFK! Anyone wanna go to class with me?

Yeah Bill was so awful to blacks, Roland and Donna would probably be waiting on tables if it weren’t for the MANY breaks he gave them and MANY AAs. They only need to take a look at Obama’s campaign to see that it is chuck full of white bread in charge. Fools.
It does not sound like they are teaching anything there. If I were you I’d request a refund.
Is Lou a parody troll?
So Obama thinks talking about “looking” isn’t talking about race???
IDIOT
On the final day of the DNP convention, a black candidate wants to make a grand spectacular in a stadium with 75,000 people to declare his nomination on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I had a Dream Speech” day.
I am sure that the man who gave his life for the cause of people not judging him by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character will be looking down from the heavens proud that a Racebaiting, pathological lying, empty suit politician will claim a victory for the cause of MLK’s struggles.
This candidate, Obama is NOT even worthy of mentioning Martin Luther King’s name in association with anything about himself, except to claim that MLK would never approve of the lowest forms of tactics used by Obama.
I marched with him in Jackson, MS as a college student. It really sickens me to watch Obama so I can only glance at him for a few seconds. People I get so angry with him. He dishonored the work of my hero Dr. King, the other civil rights leaders, whites, blacks, Jews, city slickers, and small town people who stood with us in person as well as with their financial and prayerful support. I almost cry when I observe what Obama has done. I detest him and will never, ever vote for him.
63 year old black, female Hillary supporter
I cannot wait to read this. Gonna make coffe. But, I got hung up and I gotta say,
The chickens are coming home to poop.
People have heard and seen the race card so many times now, they just roll their eyes. He and his nutcase sycophants have desensitized America to their race baiting and at best, people will be RACING to the polls to vote against Obama and shut the whole lot of them up.
Yeah and what about us oldsters? It’s about time I baked bread and attended to my baby pumas!!
An Obama defeat is a defeat to the race card. If that happens then they will think twice about pulling out the race card in the future since it will be considered a losing hand.
I’m old enough to remember the first time I was called the N-word. I was about 8 and in a new state, hadn’t heard the word before. I came home and was talking and let the word fly out. My Grandmother lost he ability to speak English for about 5 minutes. When she calmed down and could ask me where I heard the word, I told her at school. That was 1969, in Oregon, and I am mixed Native/French. My parents kept me out of the sun literally for a time so I would not get as dark as I do. Not just because of the N-word, but also because of the Dirty-Indian remarks.
Yet, we understood, that this was not something everyone would say, only a few, so no one else was judged by what came out of anothers mouth, and no quarter was given to anyone who would tolerate it either. I don’t judge Obama for what a rap artist says, I judge him for what comes out of his mouth, and I see no difference in the lyrics by Luda or the remarks by Obama, they both imply the same thing. If you want to find common ground with people, you share what you have in common, not suggest the possibility you may not be accepted because you are different. We are all different.
This should be a post at NoQuarter. Can you email this to Susan? It’s great.
Here’s just how bad the Clinton’s were to African Americans. This video was made before that piece of shit Barack Obama threatened everybody into submission.

Bad Bye Senator Edwards.
Hillary Clinton/Elizabeth Edwards 1/20/2009
If one can say they could never support obama then
” to thine own self be true.” Just because a democrat or for that matter anyone cannot support obama does not make one a bigot or a racist. What has happened on many of these so called democratic forums(not this site) the obama folks have taken over the site and branded anyone that does not support obama a bigot or a racist.
Go back to South Carolina and the obama win. Now if Obama wasn’t playing racial politics, he would have answered questions about his race by saying that South Carolinians had simply chosen the best candidate, regardless of race. But he didn’t say that. He said that by choosing him, South Carolinians absolved themselves or their racial sins of the past. Oh, and on the matter of Bill Clinton’s comment about Jesse winning in South Carolina, when did it become racist to mention political history when talking political history?
John McCain did the right thing and called obama on this slur. I wrote earlier McCain jumped on the obama statement before the whoremedia could turn it around and blame McCain. In retrospect, “Dr King’s dream began to be realised when LBJ passed the
Civil Rights Act of 1964. It took a president to get it done.” HRC condemned by the mediawhores for stating the truth.
Whatever decision one makes about the person they will vote for in November, never allow someone to sway your vote by telling you that if you do not vote for this person you are a bigot and racist.
BenDavid,
That’s good,
I don’t care anymore about the names, yes they hurt at first, but I keep my own counsel, my vote is my responsibility. I don’t have any racial shame. I am sure I have made stupid remarks in my life, never deliberate and rare. If I call someone out it is always by first person experience. The internet only provides our typed words without a voice to hear or a face with eyes to look into, so I take those insults as what they are, insults. When a candidate is filmed and speaking, that is the only first person experience I can have; It will always be a mistake to paint another person as a bigot, unless I am willing to give up having a mind of my own.
Again BenDavid, that is a keen observation of people being swayed, not thinking for themselves.
Obama’s use of racist innuendo is growing increasingly irritating to the average American who is now beginning to really pay attention. It’s thrown in their/our faces all the time by his campaign. Planned or not, he is relying on this and it’s not gonna help him anymore. I’m not voting based on skin color and no one I know is either. He is just plain a bad candidate all around with an ego the size of the Goodyear blimp.
OT: If anyone wants to see 3 good videos, go to SavagePolitics.com and check out the 3 on their front page. The first 2 just give some insight to McCain’s campaign. But the 3rd one is very interesting and telling. It is a British interview of a prominent Muslim. Pay close attention to what he says about Muslims and how they stand side by side and never go against other Muslims no matter what things they do, including murder. From birth,he emphasizes, this is their creed. Didn’t Barack say he would “stand with Muslims” if they are attacked? BoBo insists he isn’t, nor ever was, a Muslim, but some of their teachings had to rub off on him from the people he was with as a child and his educational experiences IMO. Kind of scary to listen to this guy on the video. Oh and Barack, McCain and Hillary aren’t trying to scare me about you. You do that all by yourself every time you open your mouth. Definitely worth a look and listen. Sorry if this seems like a promotion of another site. My main love is NQ but this one offers some great stuff too.
Yea here’re gonna bamboozle you and uh yeah they’re gonna hoodwinh ya, yea haha hoodwink ya…blah blah blah…
Takes one to know one.
A lesson I learned in the first grade.
PS:
Oprah, bad bye.
All snideness aside this is a grrrreat video.
Let them say one more time that JM is old and senile bullshit. AARP is gonna have to answer. Did we youngsters forget all about age discrimination already. Or is racism at the supreme top?
SusanUnPC: “I could no more vote for Obama than I could vote for George Wallace, and the reasons are much the same.”
Well, I certainly could vote for George Wallace (in fact, I did a couple of times). The funny thing is that, in Alabama during the 1980s, SO DID AFRICAN-AMERICANS (in pretty large numbers too).
The Wallace of the 1960s was an anomaly. In the 1950s, his first race for Governor saw him supporting civil rights until his opponent used that support as a bludgeon against Wallace. Then, following the attempt on his life during the 1972 Presidential campaign, noted African-American congresswoman (and Presidential candidate) Shirley Chisholm visited Wallace, offering her wishes on his recovery. Over the next several years, Wallace began openly criticizing and condemning his racist attitudes of the 1960s, and, considering that many of the very same African-Americans who were most victimized by Wallace in the 1960s turned around and accepted his apologies. Wallace condemned the race-baiting tactics and racist attitudes that led many conservative Alabama Democrats to switch to the Republican Party throughout the 1980s (many of Wallace’s strongest adversaries from the Civil Rights era commented, quite correctly, that the senior Wallace would have been appalled at his son’s switching from being a Democrat to to becoming a Republican not long after the Governor’s death).
When Wallace made his last bid for the Governor’s Mansion, he went out of his way to appear at African-American functions to show that he was not the same man he’d been two decades earlier. And, this was not a community that was easily fooled by a White man (by a Black man, on the other hand, I’m not so sure). But when Wallace died, his funeral sevice (even the private service) was attended by a large number of African-Americans who’d spent years calling Wallace “enemy” at first, then “friend” later on.
On the other hand, I could no more vote for Obama than I could George W Bush.
Yes, SusanUnPC, I remember so well.
Attempted Assassinations Aplenty.
My comment flew away from me. Susan UnPC, my memory is that Gov. Wallace made a lasting peace on his deathbed, as well. ~ There were so many attempts on killing people and kidnapping them, etc. Like SLA. 4 Actual Dead Persons in Ohio. Students. Was that not in August?
Bill Ayres knows all about it.
Yes lets not forget all the comments made by Obama bloggers on the elderly votes of men and woman, this was what i detested of many taht cae from their bloggs and the media , did very little to address the issue,we all read numerous comments about woman, gays military, elderly jews hispanic and finally someone is paying attention McCain , Nobama,I own my vote, and lets not forget the shady one Brazile who pointed it out that Clinton was playing the race card on CNN i dont even bother to watch, Serves the DNC right on not being for the poeple, Democracy was tossed out to the wolves.
Susan, great article. Also excellent writing by Bud White.
For those who would like to read more about this issue — Obama’s cynical usage of race as a campaign issue and the psychology behind it — I recommend two writers: Shelby Steele and Thomas Sowell. Here is a sampling of their thoughts:
Steele - Obama’s ‘bargainer’:
http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/03/21/shelby-steele-obama-the-bargainer/
Sowell and ‘Mascot Politics:’
http://www.townhall.com/columnists/ThomasSowell/2008/05/27/mascot_politics
Suffice it to say that Bob Herbert isn’t anywhere near the thinker that either Dr. Steele (who is himself of mixed race, like Obama) or Dr. Sowell are. Herbert is merely a joke, playing out his lock-step role with abandon.
It’s odd for a campaign that uses “Unity” as it’s buzz word, that they find no group acceptable, and they can’t define who they are. If you are not one of them, then you are not welcome, but yet they discriminate openly against contrary opinion and label the group as unwanted.
What was wonderful about Senator McCain putting his foot down about race baiting was as if we were looking at a blue box, and Obama came along and said, no it is a red box, it is a red box, it is a red box, and if you don’t agree it’s a red box you are a_________(whatever classification needs to apply in the moment). Then Senator McCain comes along and says, “hey, look it’s a blue box.
If Hillary is not by some miracle the Democratic nominee, I will be the first in line to cast my vote for John McCain. I am trying to be as positive as I can about this, and in my mind I see President McCain and Senate Majority Leader Clinton doing some great things together. Reid must go, he is a huge part of the dismal rating that Congress now enjoys, so why not Hillary? It’s a much better solution for me than Obama as President with a Pelosi and Reid led Congress - shudder.
Black Americans are something like 13 to 16 percent of the general population in this country? We’ll just assume that 95 percent of blacks will vote for Obama and we’ll say 5 percent in this country are just far too intelligent to vote only for their skin color. I’m hoping more, but we’ll go with that for now.
Therefore, BROTHER needs help getting elected. Which means the majority of his voters are whites as they’re the majority in this country.
In other words, Obama is selling his tripe and racial divisiveness to whites that feel the same way Father Phleger (sp?) does.
UGH!
Good old Father Self-Flaggellator.
Wow. Brilliantly said, Bud.
hey, obama is a bum guy where did you come up with that i say that all the time and dont know why except that it is the truth and he is an evil, fraudelent, plagerizing, son of a grammas markists bisquit and he is pushing a very socialist agenda that too many americans are too stupid and sheeple headed to see it.
This is an amazing piece. Sorry it took me so long to come across it - great work, Bud and Susan.
And spot on.
