In fact, both Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell's mothers died of breast cancer before either reached the age of 40 (Madonna's mother is listed as being only 30 and Rosie's mother is listed as being 38). The illness does NOT discriminate on basis of age. A golfer named Heather Farr was diagnosed at the age of just 24 (she died in 1993, at the age of just 28) and the beautiful voice of soul singer Minnie Ripperton was stilled at just 31 after a three-year fight with breast cancer.
