My mother died of the same kind of cancer and we had a very difficult relationship. I spent a lot of years being angry at her. But I went to her bedside when she was dying, and I will say that being present with someone when they're dying, especially when you had a had relationship, is very healing. My question is, why didn't Obama go to his mother's bedside? Was it because he was angry at her for abandoning him as a child? To use too much work as an excuse for not going to see your mother when she's dying is a crock. There's some other reason he didn't go, and my guess is it's because he harbored some anger/hatred toward his mother for his childhood. Now that she's gone, and he lost out on the chance to see her one more time, and possibly the chance to come to terms with everything that happened, he's never going to get over his childhood.
