Hussein is not going to win N.H. We will swing to McCain. Hillary would have won here. She still can, if the Dems smarten up and dump Barky. Its really their only chance in N.H.

Also, the military I talk to think Hussein is a wimpy little chameleon. Don't trust him at all with their lives, as a Commander in Chief. In fact the very thought of Hussein as C in C, elicits roars of laughter! He couldn't run a lawn mower up here!

Isn't it time for the Dems to dump that loser Obama? before the convention -- or would that take away from Ted Kennedy's grand entrance (you KNOW its going to happen -- especially if it looks like Barky is in trouble). In fact, I think the entire Dem convention is one big choreographed and scripted sideshow.

Only Hillary could shake it up and get the election back to a contest between two adults with significant voter appeal across the US. Then I'll watch the debates and the TV again. Not until then -- because I think the dem party has lost its base and is fractured beyond belief! Who would have thought that Howard Dean and Obama w/ Donna Brazile could have done this much damage? They should be run out of Washington or Chicago or wherever.

That we should totally write off nuclear power is a fundamental democratic principle?

That there should be no new offshore drilling at all is a fundamental democratic principle?

Do you want to cease domestic mining? Is that democratic policy?

We already talked about FISA and the Energy Bill.

And why shouldn't Obama be getting contributions from Wall Street? The republicans certainly do.

If you're worried about lobbyist connections and questionable corporate contributions and influences, you'd better take a closer look at John McCain. McCain campaign headquarters is the lobbyists' version of Grand Central Station.

Support for nuclear power. Obama is tied to Exelon and their executives. Exelon is the largest nuclear operator in the U.S.

Support for offshore drilling.

Support for the mining industry (he condemned mining reform package as too hard on the mining industry).

Support of FISA Legislation.

Support for 2006 Cheney-Bush Energy Bill (McCain and Hillary voted again the bill which gave massive tax cuts and taxpayer dollars to oil and energy companies).

Obama gets his money from Wall Street investment banking firms.

The list goes on and on.

For someone voting for Obama, you don't know much about him.

Do your homework.

Uh huh.

And where and when would that be?

How about a few examples of Obama's republican talk or positions?

Please don't bother with vague references to FISA or 2005 Energy Bill again. That topic has gotten way beyond wearisome.

Fortunately, having judgement passed upon me by a self-assured ingénue falls a bit short of anything that might ruin my day. Hopefully you will learn with the passage of time that all views differing from your own aren't necessarily indicative of moral shortcomings or intellectual deficits.

piggy,
Obama missed the most votes of any Dem presidential hopeful in the Senate in the last period of 2007, including a vote on an Iran resolution he blasted Hillary for supporting.

He missed 80% of all votes from September 2007 to November 2007.

Obama missed a resolution that declared the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. He criticized Hillary for voting for it.

He missed voting on a Democratic priority, the expansion of the federally funded State Children's Health Insurance Program and a resolution condemning MoveOn.org for running an ad in the NYT attacking Gen. Petraeus.

Take this back to your crew and rewrite the script.

What were those important votes Obama missed?

I know McCain strongly opposed the 2008 GI Bill, then failed to show up to vote on it.

I know McCain also skipped the vote on FISA altogether.

Which big votes did Obama skip?

Obama seems to have voted 151 times more than John McCain. That quite a few votes, isn't it?

yes, you do have and empty mind and empty soul. You're the one that justified BOBO's vote on Cheney's energy bill by saying.

over one-half of all democratic senators voted the same as Barack Obama.

You were the one that used the everybody else jumped off the bridge so it was OK that BOBO jumped too argument. You're to old to be a child so leaves the only other option...empty mind and empty soul. LOL, BOBO isn't change we can believe in. According to you he's just any old wildebeest following the herd around on it's quest for the next mouth full of grass. And No, you don't need top pack it in. You do however need to keep doing what you're doing. Follow your "leader". Get your nose down real close to the ground... and get yourself something to eat.
I have an empty mind and soul. And now I'm an uninformed cretin. Perhaps I should pack it in, since the thoughtful points against me are really beginning to pile up.

I don't particularly like the 2005 Energy Bill. I've mentioned that in here several times, in other threads. I've also posted references to the bill that detail a long list of criticisms. I'm aware there was plenty to be critical about. Yes, Obama cast a vote that on the whole I didn't like. Along with over half of his fellow democrats. And damn, he cast another vote I don't like. FISA, of course. Along with a lot of other democrats.

You seem baffled and angry that I'm not disillusioned. What you're missing is that I didn't have illusions in the first place. I don't expect any politician to be a perfect expression of my opinions 100% of the time. There is no such politician.

What I'm doing is comparing the available candidates, vote by vote, point by point, policy by policy. When I've done that--Surprise! John McCain is a republican! 95% of the time he's voted with Bush policy, and on the things most important to me he's still pushing Bush policy. And Obama is a democrat; the great majority of the time votes like one. His voting record is almost identical to Hillary Clinton's. He promotes the same policies as Hillary Clinton. Apparently I'm not going to have the opportunity to actually vote for Hillary Clinton, so...

If you get entirely away from policy and votes and compare people, I suppose I can't argue with those who just don't like Barack Obama. He punches the wrong buttons with a lot of voters. A lot of voters seem to have a great many buttons to be punched.

I don't play that game. For one thing, I don't have a strong personal dislike for John McCain. I just dislike his votes and his policy. I don't think his economic plan makes any sense. I believe he's locked into a paradigm that's time has passed. I worry about his quickness and the reliability of his judgement, given the extreme stresses of the presidency, his age, and his mental status.

My idol doesn't have feet of clay. I never had an idol in the first place. There's just one guy who comes out ahead of the other when I make a point-by-point comparison.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that the guy has an ability to fire up and motivate. There's an undeniable Obama phenomenon among youthful supporters. With the young, he punches a different set of buttons. Why should I object to that? Young people vote.

I'm aware of their voting record. I used it to support many arguments when dealing with the rabid BOBOweenie back during the primaries. All the anger and the rage at Hillary made no sense to me. Their voting records were practicality identical. But that didn't matter to you then. So it shouldn't matter t you now. What did matter was the one vote we couldn't compare and that was her vote on the use of force resolution. He wasn't there to make that vote. On a side note during that time I never used the argument like you have that "hey everyone else was jumping off the bridge so it was OK that Hillary did". That's the argument common children or adults with an empty mind or empty soul use. The behavior of the herd never justifies an individual behavior. But enough on that. Hillary was tarred for one vote. She was labeled a neo-con because of one vote. She was hated as a republican bu you people because of one vote. It wasn't new. It started years before the primary started. All that rage over one vote. Now suddenly you want to say she and BOBO are almost alike i ntheir voting records. But are they? BOBO said he opposed telecom immunity, but he voted for it. BOBO is now talking like he opposed Cheney's energy BIll.... but he voted for it. BOBO says he opposes the war but back before the war he said his position on Iraq wasn't all that different from Bush's. Form what BOBO has been doing lately, I can't see how he would have voted against the use of force resolution. BOBO travels with the herd. That's why he a Hillary are not the same. Hillary defended her vote on the use of force resolution and has yet to back down form it. She didn't grovel and beg for forgiveness. She wouldn't apologize. That vote cost her the nomination. Hillary will actually stand for something even when it hurts her, even when it costs her. We've yet to see BOBO do anything even close to that, and I don't think we ever will. So no, they are not alike. At their individual core, they're not even close.

Rev. Amy
From your maps to God's eyes, I pray!

But I think the messiah will fool enough minions to do slightly better.

Sadly!
