Obama Snubs New Orleans Again!

During the primary race Obama snubbed New Orleans and The State of The Black Union 2008 conference, who was there, Hillary Clinton. (He offered Michelle instead.) Here she is speaking at the conference.

Obama refused to debate Hillary anymore during the remainder primary states (as he is doing during the general election race). She offered Obama a debate, mano e mano, no moderators. He said no! He refused a debate in North Carolina as well. Could it be because he can’t speak extemporaneously (off the cuff) ?

And what has he been saying to McCain (as he did to Hillary) about townhalls and debates, ad nauseum, no, no, no. Obama says no to a town hall in Fort Hood and offers this instead I have a schedule conflict. His schedule conflict is a vacation to Hawaii with his family. Does he stop there? No. He snubs New Oleans for the second time. Obama refuses an offer to do a townhall in a city that is still recovering from Katrina, a city that still needs help.

This from Gretawire:

Just in: I was just tipped off that New Orleans (yes, the unfortunate home of Hurricane Katrina…) invited Senator McCain and Senator Obama to do a town hall meeting cp-sponsored by New Orleans and Google. As you might imagine, with all that has happened with Katrina, New Orleans is doing all that it can to attract Presidential candidates, commerce etc to help rebuild and revitalize the area.

Senator McCain accepted the New Orleans / Google town hall meeting 6 weeks ago…and Senator Obama? Well..he just answered yesterday and he declined ….the reason? his campaign says he will agree only to do the Commission on Presidential debates….

Could it be because he can’t debate without teleprompters? Or maybe because he doesn’t know his own policies! Does he even have any of his own policies? Is he still borrowing them from Hillary? Is it because he keeps flipping and flopping everyday? What ever the reason, it isn’t a good one I am sure!

Colorado’s tickets to see Barack Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High were more than spoken for within about 24 hours, officials said, and the application process closed Thursday for all but those willing to be put on a waiting list.

Obama’s campaign set aside for Colorado half of the more than 60,000 seats available to the public for the final night of the Democratic National Convention. It turns out the battleground state could have filled the stadium, as the campaign ended applications after collecting more than 60,000 Thursday afternoon.

“This incredible response and excitement shows that there is a huge appetite for change in Colorado,” Anne Filipic, the general election director for the Campaign for Change, said in a statement.

The demand for the credentials was so great that phone lines were jammed much of the day.

Comment by Faustina | 2008-08-08 09:52:43

Change yes. Obama No. I hate to tell the folks in Denver, but there are quite a few people living outside the city limits. It might be well-advised to check out the surroundings before getting your hopes up too high.

Remember Texas with Dallas and Houston. I don’t know the margin by which Obama won primary votes in those metropolitan areas, but I do recall seeing Hillary margins of 70+% in the rural areas. Hillary won Oklahoma; she won New Mexico; she won Arizona; she won California.

Colorado is as much a southwestern state as a mountain state. Don’t get your hopes up too high Obama people.

If thing work out the way they should, he won’t even be on the ticket.

The great one seems to have a terrible time remembering facts so he can’t debate without his trusty teleprompter or written answers to pre submitted topics. Add this into his stumbling, bumbling delivery when he draws a blank, which is most of the time when not delivering a prescripted speech. Could that be a medical/drug induced memory impairment due to impairment of brain function? Just wondering, not saying it is fact. He admitted regular drug use in high school and college and impaired memory seems to be a result in many young adult drug users. I am not a medical professional, but have worked many years with teens/young adults with educational delays and drugs are a big factor in their educational abilities.

Obaby can’t debate because he is terrified of the competition. In the nearly 2 years he’s been running he still has no set policies or principles. The kid can read a teleprompter but he cannot speak. Wonder how much Howard Dean got for his soul–he has sold out the Democratic Party and the reliable voters for what–an ignorant, immature, arrogant, insecure kid who is afraid of his own shadow. McCain Web Ad Is Accused
Of Linking Obama to Antichrist
By DOUGLAS BELKIN, STEPHANIE SIMON and SUZANNE SATALINE
August 8, 2008; Page A5

An Internet ad launched last week by the McCain presidential campaign has attracted more than one million hits by appearing to mock Barack Obama for presenting himself as a kind of prophetic figure.

The ad has also generated criticism from Democrats and religious scholars who see a hidden message linking Sen. Obama to the apocalyptic Biblical figure of the antichrist.

The spot, called “The One,” opens with the line: “It shall be known that in 2008 the world will be blessed.” Images follow of Moses parting the Red Sea and Sen. Obama telling a crowd, “We are the change we’ve been waiting for.”

Brian Rogers, a spokesman for John McCain’s campaign, said the spot reflects only that Sen. Obama sometimes “gets carried away” when he speaks, and points out “his many audacious statements.”

“It’s a light-hearted ad that pokes fun at him,” Mr. Rogers said.
There’s more if you want to read it.

Comment by Smells like McGovern | 2008-08-08 07:46:01

First they moved the Tower of Pisa and Washington Monument to Berlin, now McCain’s “The One” ad is a code message for the Obama/Antichrist.

Come on, if Obama really was the Antichrist, the cameraman would have zoomed in on the 666 shaved into Barky’s head. Who doesn’t know that?

sheesh

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-08-08 08:02:06

What a tool. Truly. McCain has found his achilles heel. He hates to be mocked. It makes him crazy. If he keeps up these bizarro ideas, they will carry him off waving his arms and screaming. I guess he can’t use his famous race card any longer, since he got nailed red-handed the last time, so I guess we can look forward to the Antichrist Card next. And just think: McCain’s campaign hasn’t even started to release the REAL stuff. That comes after the convention.

It’s not just a matter of mocking ( although that is HUGE…) it also a matter of any challenge, interruption, question that falls short of numbing adoration and agreement. Obama cannot handle not being admired or ANY SORT OF DISSENT….
Obama is a classic NARCISSIST as you and others have repeatedly pointed out….IMHO…..HE IS ALSO A FASCIST….chuckle…But then again I have never met a fascist who wasn’t also a narcissist….chuckle….the two go hand in hand….

But – suppose some Obama supporters really see a modern-day Moses leading them to the Promised Land:

Yes, this would be considered emotional but it’s much more than emotions. When I assess what is going on from a spiritual perspective, I have visions of Moses leading the people out of Egypt. I vision Senator Obama leading ALL people to a better land.

Mr. Obama could you please explain the controversy regarding your BC? Will you immediately release your BC and medical records? Can you explain your positions regarding Nafta, FISA, oil drilling, ???

What about allegations from a Mr. Larry Sinclair? Could you explain why you knowing did business with an indicted person, Tony Rezko, in purchasing your home? What is your birth name? Well you get my drift…Obama is scared sh**less! He won’t have his huggy pillow to cling to (teleprompter)

The man cannot speak unscripted, in fact he is a dismal failure whenever he tries to do so. If he cannot do so regarding his own policies and beliefs, how in the world can he when facing the leaders of Iran, Cuba and others he claims he will sit down with?

Imagine how huge of gafts he’d of made if he did not follow his community organizing day policies of let surrogates speak and he sits back while they deliver his message, when his campaign envoked the race card against the Clinton’s? Had Obama spoken out on this instead of the surrogates, he never would have made it past Super Tuesday!

So how on earth can he think he’d make it as POTUS?

I wouldn’t go as far as saying: “I love Hannity”!
Since the primaries, I have an appreciation for
him I’d never known. However, any opportunity
that presents itself, he’s very happy to take a
frontal or backhanded slap at Hillary! Let’s NOT
forget the “Clinton Chronicles”.
He deserves all the props for going after OB

of strong disagreement.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-08-08 12:21:30

csuzeq — Obama will beg for the Hannity interview when it becomes clear to him that the media love affair is over. Then he will go anywhere and everywhere to try to get his popularity back. However, when you run for the Presidency as a Messiah–where do you go from there? Messiah’s don’t grovel.

I don’t know how the national polls are being manipulated, but there’s no way mainstream whites, for starters, will make this man President!

I think Hillary should debate McCain. All O supporters will not know what’s going on and will think, Oh, wow, is she the nominee now???

Damn I want her. Hillary, Hillary, Hillary! Give me the Clintons!

The MSM, including FOX is saying the Clintons are hijacking Obama’s convention. Hillary is speaking on Tuesday, Bill on Wednesday and she has the nerve (gasp ;-) ) to suggest she put her name in nomination and have a role call vote. What is she trying to pull, they wonder! hahahahaha.

If Obama was smart, he’d disappear when he leaves for his Hawaii trip. Obama, fake your disappearance. I promise I won’t tell anyone that you are hiding. You can go to Cuba, or Iran, or Kenya. Hell, go to Tahiti for all I care. Just fake your disappearance and skip the convention will ya???? Bye-bye now! Don’t send a postcard.

Comment by fif | 2008-08-08 08:31:39

It’s all Hillary’s fault. The MSM is so pathetic. If they did any research at all instead of BO promotions 24/7, they’d know that her supporters have been driving the Convention issue and that there is an actual HISTORY of candidates putting their names in for nomination. It’s still the same b.s. from the primaries: that woman and her pesky reporters are making Poor Bawack look bad!

Hawaii homecoming rally on Friday for Barack and Michelle Obama. Battling “Obama fatigue.”

Presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) lands in his native Hawaii on Friday and starts a vacation with a “welcome” rally at Keehi Lagoon Beach Park near the airport in Honolulu featuring Obama and wife Michelle.

Obama’s vacation starts on the opening day of the Summer Olympics and he’ll let his paid advertising–the campaign bought time on the Olympics– work for him while he takes some time off the campaign trail with his wife and two daughters.

The last time he was in Hawaii was December, 2006; that’s when that famous bathing suit photo of him in the Pacific Ocean surf was shot. Before his presidential run, he would return to Hawaii each year. His grandmother, Madelyn Dunham and half sister Maya Soetoro-Ng are in Hawaii.

A Pew survey said 48 percent of the public is suffering from “Obama fatigue.”

Asked if he was overexposed, Obama said, “We are going to correct that this week,” speaking to reporters on his campaign plane en route to Chicago.

“I’m going to see my grandma, who I haven’t seen in almost 18, 19 months,” Obama said. “And who is getting to the age where I want to make sure where I am spending time with her on a consistent basis so she can see her great grandchildren and I want to spend some time with those children as well.”

Comment by Dawnelle Leona del Puma | 2008-08-08 09:15:11

excuse me but

THOSE CHILDREN?

WTF?

That’s another one like the “no girl(or was it no ONE) should be PUNISHED with a child”

I do NOT like the off color words that drip like a leaky faucet from his cold purple lips!

If he gets 5 states I will ban those states from my further travel EVER in my future or my families! I PROMISE.

I do NOT want to be around people that would vote for such a sick punk!

The Beatles said it best about Obama. How did they know?

He’s a real nowhere Man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.

Doesn’t have a point of view,
Knows not where he’s going to,
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere Man, please listen,
You don’t know what you’re missin’,
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command.

(lead guitar)

He’s as blind as he can be,
Just sees what he wants to see,
Nowhere Man can you see me at all?

Nowhere Man, don’t worry,
Take your time, don’t hurry,
Leave it all ’till somebody else
lends you a hand.

Doesn’t have a point of view,
Knows not where he’s going to,
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere man please listen,
you don’t know what your missin’
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command

He’s a real Nowhere Man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.

I have said this before, personally i did not think obama wants to be president–it is too much work. Obama likes running for president-flying around in his own personal jumbo (not a gulfstream jet) with his name blazen across it, going place to place reading other peoples words (that is why no townhalls with any opponent, too much work having to know stuff), being cuddled and adored by the msm and treated like rockstar without any sacrifices. Oh yeah did i mention you have a bunch of adoring suckers (adoring foreign suckers) paying for it! On some level obama will be relieved when all this stuff comes out about him. He will then have his excuse for not winning or in my dreams for pulling out and letting hillary take over.
I bet those folks in new orleans would have loved to have a free rock concert with free food and beer–it would have been a nice relief from all the govt red tape and trying to find affordable housing when the govt stops paying their rents. Is jesse jackson jr cryng about that? Yeah I didn’t think so.

Jonathan Alter at Newsweek —–

There, Barack Obama has the edge, however narrow, and his supporters are a bit nervous about the “catharsis” getting out of hand. They don’t worry that their man could actually lose the nomination but that the carefully scripted ad for their candidate (i.e., the convention) might be marred by, well, genuine human feelings.

Genuine human feelings? Yes.

So-called ‘journalists’ are hypocritical toe-suckers ala Dickie-Odinga Morris.

Bozo Alter trashed HRC on all the usual talking heads shows, never saying a word against His Snobbiness and now it’s suddenly dawned on him that the One may not be worthy?

And he still has his job and there are no consequences for his unconscionable slandering of HRC?has

it is all so nauseating.

Preparing for debates takes a lot of time and work. No one can do it for you. Reading a speech written by 20 speechwriters for Deval Patrick is much more efficient for his time. Preparing for a committee hearing also takes time and work. Writing articles for legal publications also takes time and work. So does writing a book, but one gets advances from a publisher to do it. Maybe is someone offered to pay him for these debates he would show.

Barack Obama: My Pop-Culture Favorites
The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee talks to EW about his picks in movies (”The Godfather”), TV shows (”M*A*S*H,” ”The Dick Van Dyke Show”), singers (Frank Sinatra, Sheryl Crow),

So neither of you are fascists when it comes to the remote…
If I tell her, ”Sweetie, we’ve got game 5 of the NBA finals on,” she’s willing to give me a little slack. Most of the time, though, the TV is on HGTV, and I suffer that silently.

Excerpt: Brenda Krause is tired of fear mongering among the Democrats.

The 55-year-old delegate to the Democratic National Convention doesn’t think the party – or its unity – is in any way compromised by her voting for Hillary Rodham Clinton at the roll call.
When Clinton dropped out of the running, Krause mourned that her generation likely isn’t going to see a woman claim the Oval Office.

That day, she vowed to stick with the New York senator.

“I’m not going to be coerced into something I don’t believe in,” said Krause, who lives in Colorado Springs and owns a real estate office. “That makes me less unified. If they let me have my voice, I’ll feel more unified.”

FEC Investigation of Obama Eligibility
The petition

The signers of this petition request the Federal Elections Commission and Mr. Donald McGahan, FEC chairman, to take responsibility to verify the eligibility of Mr. Barack H. Obama to be President of the United States. Mr. Obama has refused to produce a physical certified, stamped copy of his birth certificate. An electronically-displayed image displayed by his official campaign website has been alleged to be a forgery. We request that the FEC require Mr. Obama to authorize the FEC to obtain an official copy of his birth certificate and if he does not produce the authorization that the FEC reject his registration as a presidential candidate; that the FEC not monitor his campaign finances during the primary or election; that votes cast for Mr. Obama and reported by the states’ boards of elections not be recorded and displayed by the FEC; and that Mr. Obama be considered in violation of 2 USC 437g for filing a false statement on FEC Form 2, as specified on that form.
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Federal-Elections-Commssion/

Comment by jbjd | 2008-08-08 10:45:56

Look up the statutory role of the FEC. It is not to verify the eligibility of presidential candidates put forward by the parties. It is to ensure the parties do not steal the election.

McCain should insist on the “debates” even with Obama’s absence. They could be run as townhall meetings with people asking him questions….and they could leave an empty seat for Obama and mention how this is the 124th invitation Obama refused (or whatever number it is).

It is outrageous that he should refuse this, and it unfairly hurts McCain because the media will cover every basketball game Obama plays or waffle he eats, but never covers McCain.

Oh it is audacity, and just plain selfishness, to want EVERYTHING NOW, no matter what–even if it means that the country will suffer with him at the head of it. What a monster. How selfish.

Oh, and why should it surprise me that he decided not to have any debates or town meetings? His candidacy is so controlled and fake, and the whole thing is an act that needs to be protected…cause he doesn’t know WTF he is talking about.

Meanwhile, why should Obama go to New Orleans?? We already know how he feels about black people, and we already know he is a selfish jerk. You think he gives a crap? LOL. NOOO. He only cares if the media shined a light on his cold shoulder to New Orleans, it is ONLY about image.

He knows what the polls are saying and he looks worn out and depressed. He has no conscience however, so its now about everyone trying to get him.

“Courage is taking action in the face of fear…” .
Showing up at townhalls with John McCain could take
some courage.
It is unfortunate for Sen. Obama, and his campaign that they seem to believe, that all he has to do is
give a “great” speech and the undecideds, independents
and others will just be caught up in his “rhetorical wave” and be moved to support him!
He doesn’t have to speak to the people at a townhall.
Why share the “light”? That his excuse. At a debate,
the standard, “same ole politics”, three debates,
it is more controlled. Think Hillary and McCain would
have had more? Yup!
Not accepting the NO debate or the Fort Hood invitation to meet with military families, just shows
where his priorities are. It is all about HIM. Rather
than the voters. The MSM has it wrong, they accuse
the Clintons of undermining OB. Truth is he does it
to himself!

Hey, come on, with Obama’s reputation as a great inspirational speaker, debating McCain would not be a fair contest. The old man would debate the crap out of Obambi…

Obama never gets tired of mentioning that the town hall format gives McCain an unjust advantage. What a loser…

wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

“FEC Investigation of Obama Eligibility”
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Federal-Elections-Commssion?e

I really think this is an important cause, and I’d like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It’s free and takes less than a minute of your time.
