Georgia On My Mind

I cannot even beging to do this issue justice right now – I have company, and we are on our way out. But I want to recommend you check out Memeorandum.com and here at No Quarter, which are both doing a lot on this, as well as what McCain and Obama are saying (here’s a little hint – one of them spoke knowledgeably, the other did not. Wanna guess which one did which? Uh, yeah.).

I do want to mention that over 1,500 people have already died in this war between Georgia and Russia, a war not even a day old. Fifteen hundred people. Words fail, but my heart goes out to all those who are losing people in this conflict, and all conflicts being waged around the world right now, whether it is our people, or the people of Georgia, or Russia, or Afghanistan, or Iraq, or…Sadly, the list is too long.

And once again, as if there was any doubt, this is exactly why we need to have s leader, a strong leader, a compassionate leader, a decisive leader. And that person is, without a doubt in my mind, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I miss Hillary, too! And I am all the way up here in Ontario, Canada, watching Michael Moore’s “Canadian Bacon”.

With Hillary safely away from the misogynist media bashers, I would gladly take the punches for her…just to see her on-air talking and making sense. Christ, what’s wrong with the bloody ex”Democratic” party anyway?

Why not take Obambi to Coney Island, buy the kid some icecream and let him get lost in one of the 57 states — without a teleprompter!

Hillary, PLEASE, can’t you hear your cubs roarin’ for ya? We miss ya! Come back….xxx

The contrast of Obama’s statement with McCain’s is stark. Obama urges both sides to practice restraint. Putin must be rubbing his hands at the thought of a President Obama.

Off topic

This is a song Edwards’s lover Rielle Hunter used in a “Webisode” she made about him for his failed presidential campaign.

How appropriate.

When you look into a mirror
Do you like what’s looking at you?
Now that you’ve seen your true reflections
What on earth are you gonna do?
I thought by now you’d be the president
But after all that was yesterday
But you’ve had time to go out in the world now
But you chose to run away
Well, people ask you what you’re doing now
You don’t even know what to say

And might I add that we have hardly any media coverage of this tragedy, at least yesterday. What a disgrace the MSM is. Totally agree with RRRAmy, and I first heard of it from McCain’s statement put on a blog. Maybe it’s my fault–I can no longer watch MSNBC nor CNN, and Fox devotes (too much?) time to crime cases.

Been doing some research notice McCain has over 24 people to chose as VP and could win with many of them. Obama has really none Webb gone, Gore said No, Rendell said No, 3 others said No. They came up with Bayh realized he couldn’t win with him. Was going to ask Edwards( well we know hes gone)
Not many are willing to risk their career being junior Senators VP and he can’t win with just anybody. lol he needs Hillary . He needs her now more than ever. The One is in trouble. I hope she says F&*# off and NOT accept any VP ticket NEVER. I will NOT vote for the ticket, unless it’s Hillary on top. Think about it who does Obama have left to chose as VP

Comment by simanov | 2008-08-09 17:06:11

Hillary as a VP is a career ending move, unless she’s sure there is enough dirt on this stinker to get him impeached.

Comment by cdo | 2008-08-09 17:09:09

Someone on another thread suggested that perhaps the Hillary campaign memos were leaked by the Hillary campaign purposefully in order to kill any possibility of her being forced to accept the VP slot.
It makes a lot of sense actually. The more I think about it the more it makes me laugh. It sounds like something James Carville would think of.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-08-09 17:41:18

cdo — I agree — I think Hillary is putting out those E-mails to show us PUMAs that she is on our side and she is none too fond of the Big BO.

Comment by Bridgette | 2008-08-09 17:23:20

I think Obama SHOULD ask her cuz I do believe she’s the only choice he has that gives him a chance of winning. I also think that he owes it to her after the way he treated her. YET, I hope he doesn’t ask her cuz I’m scared she would say yes for unity’s sake…I would HATE for her to be his VP. She is just way too good for it.

Comment by Dawnelle Leona del Puma | 2008-08-09 17:37:38

if the birth certificate chit doesn’t sink him before the convention it will before NOV surely

if Hill is already sitting pretty as VP and Bambi goes byebye as we suspect, she is ready to steady the flailing DEM ship.

not sure if that will still gain her victory after all the shit that has gone down some may be too mad to forgive the blatant deception and race baiting

I’m not sure what I will do to be honest but I KNOW what I WON’T do and that is EVER vote of BHO

Sen. Evan Bayh

Sen. Joe Biden

Sen. Chris Dodd

Sen. Hillary Clinton

Sen. Chuck Hagel

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius

Gen. Wesley Clark

Rep. Chet Edwards

Sen. John Edwards

Dobb mortage scandal, Clarke McCain scandal, Kaine unexperince, Sebelius a yes girl, Hagel never, Ewards gone. Who can he pick and win with? Dems picked another LOSER

Comment by Raven | 2008-08-09 18:37:35

What about Sen.Webb, he took himself out of consideration.
The more that I’ve had a chance to think about it,
the angrier I get at the “she’s unelectable meme”
spun by the MSM, HUFFPO and other blog outlets.
This Edwards “tale” was known by many for months,
almost a year. Yet, they sat on it and chose to
go after Hillary, at will for any reason. Real or
imagined. As long as it played into the agenda, that
she not be the “presumptive” nominee. They allowed
the idea of Edwards being the “authentic one” to
stand unchallenged. Its sickening. I “feel” for
Elizabeth but, she had a chance to, at least, bal-
ance John’s endorsement of Obama. She could have
come out for Hillary. She didn’t.
Both Obama and Edwards counted on and used the MSM’s
“Clinton Syndrome” to their advantage.
They just never counted on Hillary growing and get-
ting so much better as time went on, when her cam-
paign failed her. Even people who never liked Sen. Clinton grew to respect her fortitude and perser- verance on behalf of the people. She’s got the
heart of a champion!
Rise Hillary, Rise!

The race-baiters’ manufactured bigotry

Excerpt: For the first time in history, this country has the opportunity to vote into the presidency a man with obvious African ancestry. Sen. Obama’s success demonstrates something that Americans should be proud of – namely, opportunity for all.

We are also faced with the extraordinary assertion from far too many quarters that, if we don’t vote for Sen. Obama, our reasons must be racist. It couldn’t possibly be because we don’t want a socialist president. It must mean we don’t like black people, or at least we don’t want black people in positions of power.

Given the way the campaign rhetoric is flowing these days, I’m willing to hazard a guess that Sen. Obama will lose the election.

Comment by Dawnelle Leona del Puma | 2008-08-09 18:00:06

otherwise the whole COUNTRY is held hostage to his constant guilt trips and race baiting rhetoric

not to mention he has NO PLAN

W didn’t have a PLAN and look how that ended up?

McCain had to force an issue that Gen Zinni and OTHERS were pushing from the beginning. If you are going to do it – do it right. But the mission was wrong to start with so doomed.

the NEXT Prez should exit Iraq stage left and call it a win! I’ll even go to the parade and cheer on the troops!

Inquiry in Ohio Could Hurt Obama Vote

On July 28, F.B.I. and I.R.S. agents raided the homes and offices of Mr. Dimora and Frank Russo, a Democrat who is the county auditor, an elected position. The offices of several construction companies and a consulting business owned by Mr. Russo’s son were also searched.

They’re proclaiming their innocence. I’m stunned—NOT! Anything even remotely attached to Obama is not good.

The Ruskies will goosetep in line behind Dear Komrade….It will be interesting to see if Europe allows Georgia to be a Polish Patsy or not. I think I read the BP has been building a rival pipeline with the help of the Georgians to avoid Putin’s annual Winter shakedown of Europe….Funny how close this is to where GWB wants to set up his defending Europe Missles…..Hmmmm…..

Yes, Zibkniew whatever is in on this. Big oil money flowing from both Russia and North America with europe the client state. Russia is a big player and the pipeline was to run through Georgia down to Pakistan…IT’S ALL FOR GREED$$$$

Bush meantime will be dancing with the fat kuwait Saudi princes and lining up his bank account with Iraqi blood money. With 2 million internal refugees in Iraq, HOMELESS WOMEN and children, and another 2 million outside, with a quarter million prostituting themselves in Syria and Jordan….
Do we need another Bush-lite term with this Obambi moron?? God help us. Or Hillary, come back!

Lieberman will probably get a cabinet post but McCain would lose his Evangies over a Lieberman vp. The Alaska gov. may be his best bet.

I can’t help thinking that Edwards endorsement of O on top of the WVA trouncing HRC gave O maybe came from Axelrod/Obama doing a threat of “tell all”. Helps explain why Eliz. was not there and never really came forth. Also helps to explain why JE would endorse O at all since he was much closer in positions to HRC and why at that mean moment really bringing a thunder cloud down on what was a terrific win for the Hillster. It worked too because it really took some steam out of her victory.

I think the winning combination for the Democratic party is:

President: Michelle Obama
Vice President: Barack Obama

kinthenorthwest writes……
“Does anyone else wonder how much of the Edwards mess Obama knew about.”

I concur. Looks like Obama knew something about Edwards’ mess. Moreover, Edwards had a failure of judgment when he endorsed Obama.

Comment by Dr. bobbi Anne White | 2008-08-10 20:05:57

Denver Mountain News just announced Michelle is giving the opening speech at the convention

Comment by cathnealon | 2008-08-10 10:26:39

Obama’s thugs had his opposition’s divorce records opened up in Chicago to doom his opponent. He knew about Edwards all along and threatened him with going public if he didn’t endorse him. That’s what his people are good at. Edwards’ “narcissism” that he referred to in the interview is the same thing that will bring BO down after the nomination. I never thought I would trust Fox and the Enquirer more than msm but now that’s exactly where we’re at. The Russo-Georgian war is a perfect indication of what the world is going towards, conflcit after conflict and there’s no way in hell BO can handle any of this, by the time he finished his “diplomacy” we’d be under Russian rule.

Comment by 935 Lies | 2008-08-10 11:07:59

The REAL surprise about Edwards is that he thought that girl was a $100,000 roll in the hay.

Somebody has WAAAAAAY too much loose cash and free time on his hands.

What did Rockefeller say?

“If it floats, flies or f***s, LEASE it!”

Comment by mary | 2008-08-10 20:11:40

If Women ruled, there would be more negotiation and less retaliation.

The Palestine and Israeli women, which is a fact not promoted by the media, have worked side by side for years and they agree on how to resolve the conflict with common sense and good judgment and tolerance. Their menfolk, who happen to rule both sides, have never implemented their policies, needless to add…

Where is Hillary?
