DNC Convention Platform

So, the DNC has been meeting in Pittsburgh over the weekend, determining the Platform for the upcoming Convention. As you know, I Own My Vote had a good survey that enables us to speak out for what WE wanted to be incldued in the Convention Platform. One of the so-called “victories” for the Hillary Clinton camp is the issue of universal health care (H/T to Jeralyn at TalkLeft). I suppose you can call it a “victory” that they discussed it, but as seems to be the case FAR too often with the DNC, it is but a watered-down version of what Clinton wanted, with no guarantees associated with it. Read it for yourself:
All Americans should have coverage they can afford; employers should have incentives to provide coverage to their workers; insurers and providers should ensure high quality affordable care; and the government should ensure that health insurance is affordable and provides meaningful coverage. As affordable coverage is made available, individuals should purchase health insurance and take steps to lead healthy lives.
Well, no freaking DUH that Americans should “take steps to lead healthy lives,” but HOW does this address one of the most PRESSING issues with healthcare in this country: it is PROHIBITIVELY expensive for MILLIONS of Americans! And MILLIONS of Americans DO NOT HAVE IT!!!!! This is yet another mamby-pamby milquetoast declaration from the DNC. Just HOW is this a “coup” for the Clinton Camp???
THIS is what Hillary Clinton said she wanted:
Her policy concept was UNEQUIVOCAL, and would have covered ALL AMERICANS!!!! And there was this completely assholic comment by the author of the TImes article:

Uh, it wasn’t JUST the horrible way the Obama Camp and the DNC treated Hillary Clinton, along with the MSM. It is the way the DNC has conducted itself during this season: disregarding documented evidence of fixed caucuses (the ONLY way Obama ended up with more delegates – far fewer actual Americans represented, but more delegates awarded.
That’s pretty easy when the candidate breaks election laws like having people INSIDE polling places with literature, or having people ripping down Clinton signs outside polling places, as well as ripping INTO Clinton supporters; or locking out the opponent’s supporters; or stealing packets to get signatures of people NOT in the caucus meeting, etc., etc.); treating states that were more for Clinton disparately from other states in the same situation; and STEALING VOTES FROM ONE CANDIDATE TO GIVE TO ANOTHER NOT ON THE BALLOT are just a FEW of the reasons we are angry.
If Hillary Clinton had lost fair and square, we would accept that. It was that the FIX seemed to be (and SEEMS to be) in for this sham of a candidate. THAT is why we are angry, Ms. Wheaton (of the NY Times). Try actually doing some real journalism next time, will ya??
Anyway, great job, DNC (and NY Times, who used the “coup” word in the first place). Once again, you have managed to take a great idea about Universal Health Care for ALL People, and make it meaningless. (Do these people take classes in how to be the most vague, fence-riding indecisive wimps EVER or something??) And you are proud of yourselves over it! Wow – how DO you people walk around with NO SPINE????? Boggles the mind…
Oh, but there is more, like on Immigration. The platform reads:
We support a system that requires undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, pay taxes, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens. They are our neighbors, and we can help them become full tax paying, law-abiding, productive members of society. At the same time, we cannot continue to allow people to enter the United States undetected, undocumented, and unchecked. The American people are a welcoming and generous people, but those who enter our country’s borders illegally, and those who employ them, disrespect the rule of the law.
Well, okey dokey. What, no we all have to learn Spanish? Huh. I wonder how they missed THAT!!! Anywho – it isn’t anything TOO unexpected, I reckon. That is to say, no major policy shift or stand, for that matter. Same-o, same-o!!

Remember the Dan Rather 60 Minutes story on Bush and the TX National Guard? Rather, his reporters and the producers had enough documentation to prove Bush was a no show and his family connections allowed him to get away with it, even without the one document that seemed to be questionable? The pile of airtight evidence firmly backed up Rather’s allegations.
However when Bush supporters went full force on the single “forged document” it destroyed the credibility of every single other document even though they were all legit. It also destroyed Dan Rather’s credibility and he was pushed out of CBS.
If we wish to be an effective movement that impacts this election we need to be careful what we state as fact. We need to carefully choose our words to put the doubt out there but not allow ourselves to be attacked as liars or tin foil hats.
Larry St Claire has never shown anything that would be taken ascredible by any legit journalist. His story is entertaining and it seems very coincidental that several gay choir members of Obama’s church were executed. However there are thousands of other much more probably explanations and reporters will not report unless this one explaination can be proven beyond doubt. Saying Obama is homosexual hurts the credibility of PUMAs. Also as many PUMA leaders are LGBT, smearing someone with unfounded accusations of being “homosexual” (not a great choice of words) is offensive to many PUMAs. Related to the St Claire stuff, drug usage is accepted as fact, but use the date St Claire gave, 1999, and you will lose credibility.
There is nothing to suggest Obama is Communist. Obama DOES HAVE many associations with people and organizations with radical Marxist leanings like Trinity Baptist and William Ayers. Communism was developed from Marxist philosophy but not all Marxists are technically “Communists.” Throw in the “C” word and you discredit any debate on his proven Marxist ASSOCIATIONS. That’s another point. There has been no “on record” statements from Obama to indicate that he personally is Marxist. I believe his many close connection with Marxism should be an issue raised. Again when we say he “is” rather than he “is associated with” it is easy for his supporters to discredit us.
Even with the birth certificate allegations we need to loudly raise the call for the DNC to do due diligence and make sure their nominee meets the Constitutional eligibility to be sworn in as POTUS. Until TechDude submits his findings and is reviewed by the press we should say there is “a question to the legitimacy of the JPEG image of a birth-certificate.” Unless you personally examined it yourself and are a digital document expert you should not state “BO’s birth certificate IS a forgery.” Same with the citizenship question. I think this is where we could actually see an upset in Denver. However the only people who can make that happen are the press and the supers. Loudly asking or even demanding that the legitimate QUESTIONS about his citizenship in light of the the sketchy areas of Obama’s stated history and the reality of him being able to attend school while living with his step fathe Indonesia, is something they could be pushed to look into. If the press and the supers look and find he is inelligible or they seriously question whether he will stand up to thescrutiy of eligibility, they will demand he step down as nominee. Scream an accusation that he is NOT AN AMERICAN without having solid documentation in your hands and you will be seen as a tin foil hat. Further the press and the supers will get annoyed with the topic and will not look into it any further.
I personally think there are MANY solid things we can throw at that stick. Things such as Ayers. Also that the previous owner of the Obama mansion did not have an “adjacent lot” when he bought the property and later when he first put it on the market. We don’t know exactly what transpired but he somehow decided to sell his yard as an adjacent lot AFTER Michelle Obama became interested and was not able to afford purchasing the single piece of property.
No assumptions made in this. I didn’t say “Rezko offered Michelle” or “Michelle asked Rezko” because we really don’t know. I think some serious stuff will be happening soon that will turn everything upside down. It’s crucial that we keep ourselves as credible as possible or we might sabotage those efforts.

You raise some good points – our assertions have to be beyond reproach or else face the possibility of complete dismissal, even if the statement is mostly accurate.
Just one note – it is Larry Sinclair. And you are quite right, many of PUMA nation are in the LGBT community. As such, it isn’t so much that Obama may have homosexual tendencies or even is actively homosexual – it is the DUPLICITY, the associations with actively ANTI-GAY people, and the drug use that is more the issue with Sinclair. At least for me.

I agree, but truly you can be factual and honest as the day is long and someone will work at taking it apart. I can’t tell you how many sites refer to NQ as being associated with the KKK. It again is the racist angle and working it as best they can. The O campaign and supporters take the task of hitting reputation and creating assumptions, about (these werne’t that long ago) whites in general, women in general, specifically middle aged women, then finally defined as Hillary supporters. Next, blue haired women in general, older people in general, which then made the leap to John McCain being too old. Finally, racists in general, then low income, low education, southern in gneral, then specifically, Virginia, Kentucky, TN, excluding specifically, NC (so they could feel good about not being “racists).
It’s an old trick in the courtroom, sweeping generalizations(the bell is rung), enforcing stereotypes, and division, creating a fear of the historical past repeating itself, yet using the very methods of prejudice and racism to achieve the results.
I agree keep to our facts, and also defend ourselves, but I always am suspicious of the trolls who pose as NQ posters, so they can create what looks like we wrote something that can be used as a tool against non-obama supporters, they do this on every anti-obama thread. So while we work at staying honest factual, be aware, some pose in alliance here, and are really in disguise.
Finally, I won’t stray from facts, but I also won’t put up with being attacked anymore from O trolls.
I should have added, I try to not respond to the trolls, but fail sometimes. I know to freeze them out is the best method, it’s hard to argue with yourself, or cause problems when no one responds to you. SO will work at this.

I was one of the people who attended the Platform Meeting to lobby for amongst other things Hillary’s concept of Universal Health Care. Our goal was to insert unambiguous language that the Democratic Party would make a commitment to nothing less than 100% of all Americans would be covered, no wiggle room with wording that could later redefine what we really meant by “universal.”
This is the amended language.
“”While there are different approaches within the Democratic Party about how best to achieve the commitment of covering every American-with everyone in and no one left out-we stand united to achieve this fundamental objective through legislative process.”
It’s unlikely that Hillary’s platform would contain the actual mechanics of a plan that would have to work it’s way through Congress and be subject to normal changes and compromises any successful legislation goes through.
We did get Hilary’s full objective into the platform “everyone in and no one left out.” We also got the word “commitment” rather than the weaker non-committal word “support.”
Also most important, we don’t like Obama’s health care plan PERIOD! I don’t want Obama and his advisors writing whatever plan the Democrats introduce after 2008. Right now BO is the presumptive nominee and the platform had to be written in that framework. that’s why I’m thrilled with “through the legislative process” this was also a score for Clinton policy people on the platform draft committee. If working out the nuts and bolts of a plan to achieve the goal of every single American being covered, who in Congress would probably take leadership on the issue??????? BINGO!!!
We hit a home run on Health Care in the platform. We still have a lot of work to do.

Maybe they will include in their platform a proposal to amend the Constitution to allow people with multiple citizenships to run for POTUS too.

ALERT on Obama tax plan. He is deliberately misleading when he says his tax cuts will not increase the deficit. His comparison is with the projected deficit of BUSH in 2010! Which, of course, includes a huge increase in the deficit. So Obama’s plan will increase the deficit, just not more than Bush’s. I call that being a liar.

I have been asked by several readers to stick to subjects that apply only to organized crime and political corruption within Las Vegas. However, these E-Briefs are nationally distributed, and I regularly receive pertinent information from sources outside Las Vegas. The last time I checked, Las Vegas is inside the United States of America, and therefore the following information will definitely affect the welfare of my city, and is qualified to be included in these INSIDE VEGAS E-Briefs.
Barack Obama is not legally a US natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth; a law that was in effect between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, when the law was changed.
However, the new law did not preempt the former law in the cases of those born between the above listed dates when the old law was in effect.
Therefore, Senator Obama may very well be disqualified as the Democratic candidate in the upcoming Presidential campaign.
Presidential office requires the person elected to be a natural-born United States citizen if the child was not born to two US citizen parents.
US Law very clearly stipulates: “If only one parent was a US citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.”
Barack Obama’s father was not a US citizen, and Obama’s mother was only 18 when he was born, which means although she had been a US citizen for 10 years, his mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years prior to Barack Obama’s birth.
In order for her child to have been a natural-born US citizen, his mother would have had to be 21 at the time of his birth.
In essence, Mrs. Obama was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic US citizenship.
His mother would have needed to have been 16+5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen.
Barack Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office of President under current law.
At best, Barack Obama is only a naturalized US citizen.
This is an issue that must be clarified before the election.
Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President as is the case with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, all the other information does not matter because his mother is the one who needed to have been a US citizen for at least 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after she became age 16.
If Obama were elected President without being a natural-born US citizen, it would set precedence that would enable Governor Schwarzenegger and other naturalized US citizens to also run for President.

The democratic party is preparing for a momentous and historical loss come November if Obama – the presumptive nominee becomes the “actual nominee” for the party at the convention.
No doubt the democratic party leaders, the MSM, and the Obama campaign will blame it on “racism.” In fact “racism” may in fact play a part but probably not “racism” as the aforementionned would interpret it. Rather it will be how Obama, like the “boy who cried wolf”, played the “racism” card too many times and in the end too few believed him and the rest of the populace were just sick and tired hearing the same old excuse every time Obama was faced with any challenge or question.
Although the hour is late, there is still time for the democratic party to nominate a candate who has shown through her “primary” success that she can win. May they see her “light”!
Let us not forget … that in addition to statements like ‘America is a mean country’ … and, ‘this is the first time in my adult life that I’m proud to be an American’ … Michelle Obama also made the decision to expose her children for years, to Jeremiah Wright, Pfleiger, Moss, Farrakhan, and the rest of the radical anti-American racists at the black liberation Trinity Church of Chicago. Is this who we want for America’s first lady … I don’t think so !!!
