What’s the deal with Barack Obama slipping to see his grandmother without his wife and children? The woman who really raised him gets to see him for an hour. She doesn’t see his children, her great-grandchildren, possibly the last time she might be able to see them. And the wife, Michelle, is AWOL.
What is going on here? If this were any other candidate serious questions would be asked about how he treats his family, especially for a candidate whose campaign is based on the storyline of his extraordinary personal history.
Is it Obama himself who doesn’t want his wife and children to see his grandmother, whom he dismissively called a “typical white person”? Or is it Michelle? Does she want nothing to do with the woman who raised her husband? Why does she keep her children away from their great-grandmother? Or does she cooperate with her husband in keeping them away?
One thing we know is that it is highly unlikely that it is the grandmother who doesn’t want to see her great-grandchildren.
We can only conclude that Obama’s official narrative has a lot of missing chapters in it. And the press corps isn’t asking the questions he would naturally ask of any other presidential candidate under these sort of circumstances.
What kind of moral values lead Obama to treat his grandmother so shabbily? And what’s the real story behind the brief one hour visit without the wife and children? Why so short and why so lonely?

As I said in the last thread… if Obama isn’t his last name or if he wasn’t really born in Hawaii and Michelle and the kids don’t know this, then of course he wouldn’t want them to be there while he tells grandma that she better not tell the truth.

If you want to argue, then argue the points as to why Obama should not be the country’s first choice as president. Arguing this kind of stuff is just plain silly.

Is it silly? It says a lot about the man who does not travel with his wife and children to go visit one of his relatives. There is animosity there, or at least a staggering amount of indifference and disrespect. It is a pattern with him, and it makes it very difficult to trust someone who treats his family this way. Why should non-family members trust him if he cannot even sustain a loving relationship with his family?
So seeing his grandmother by himself once, when his kids will have plenty of times during the week automatically makes him unloving?

My grandfather’s heart was unstable electrically. Emotional situations, even ones like seeing his great-grandchildren, could cause an erratic heartbeat. We were all instructed to limit visits and try to keep the little kids away. Two groups of relatives with little kids did show up to visit him. He went to the kitchen for a glass of water to take his nitro and collapsed. We couldn’t revive him. So, its possible.

I would have to disagree with SEC about the importance of missing or anomalous personal history. While we often say we are sick to death of hearing about celebrity lives, nevertheless we hear about everyone’s. Except Obama. I would not assume that a grandma loves her descendents. I know some that don’t. Usually there is a good reason for it. We can speculate all over about the relationships in this family, as new info comes out a better picture results (like the whole Edwards thing), but for the moment it is a very creepy picture and not too unexpected (to me) in view of the other cues that BO and MO aren’t that fond of each other. If we want to judge character I would put the various things that McCain has done throughout his life up on the table, personally. I personally find his affair with Cindy McCain to be offensive. It doesn’t make it much better. An hour visit with grandma after golf and before dinner looks to me like something one ‘must’ do as opposed to what one ‘wants to’ do.
When my grandma was ill and couldn’t move around easily, we brought her to our place. When she got homesick for her house, we took her back and I moved in to keep her company.
After I left the country, my mother visited her daily, later took her to her place because she just couldn’t move in with grandma. (Mom was still working and the commute would have been too much for her.)
Grandma was our holy grail. We watched her every wish, knowing that her time with us is winding down.
God, how I miss her!

The COLB issue is complete conjecture. Even the presenting documents presented by TexasDarlin posits them as theory. It is one that may or may not be proven to be true or false. Your first paragraph uses words such as “could” and “possibility,” so I thank you that you are not like others who present such things as fact. It’s not known, but it’s not in the “not knowing” that should disqualify someone to be president, especially when, as I believe, if there was a real problem with citizenship, then this would have come up a long time ago during Clinton’s vetting process.
The associations with Rev. Wright can be seen as troubling, but one only need to read some of Rev. Hagee’s work to know that it works both ways. I also believe that I can listen to someone without espousing his or her beliefs. I’ve come here for at least six months, and can listen to the arguments and still make up my mind on my own.
I would argue that Obama’s economic policies are not Marxist – in fact, Marxism is not a theological system. Marxism by definition is what is considered “practical-critical.” It challenges a belief in God by asking why such a belief is necessary. Therefore, you may disagree with a Wright or a Cone, but labeling them Marxist goes against Marxist thought at its core. I’m not sure how Michelle is labeled Marxist exactly. I’ve read the arguments for it, but I’ve found them to be pretty weak.
I do wish that Obama would have shown better judgment than to dally with both Ayers and Rezko, but I again would never say that Obama agrees with both lock, stock, and barrel. I do not believe in guilt by association. I didn’t with the Clintons, and I don’t with the Obamas.

the difference between Rev. Wright and Rev Hagee is that Obama hung with Wright for 20 years, member of the Church, took his kids there, got married there. McCain probably hasn’t met Hagee more than 3 times. As for his two most important friends, Tony Rezko and Bill Ayers, who were his BIGGEST HELPERS in his career. Rezko for the money he raised, over $250,000 which is big in State politics, and for the help Obama sought from Rezko to buy his Mansion, which IS CORRUPTION. Bill Ayers has political power, his father, Thomas Ayers was CEO of Commonwealth Edison (Exelon) and Chairman of CHICAGO UNITED, a collection of Chicago movers and shakers. If it’s true that the girls were only at Grandma’s for a brief visit, that makes me so sad.
For years I lived miles and miles away from my grandparents. I visited them every chance I could, and spent as much time as I could with them during those visits.
When they died, several years apart, the only thing that made it somehow easier to bear in each case was that I knew they knew how important they were to me. I remain grateful to this day for all those precious hours of visits we had.
Obama’s girls and his grandmother deserve no less. Nothing is more important than family, not even the Oval Office.
Personally, I think we’re all wasting time having the current discussion of Barry’s grandma visit. Larry Johnson dropped a bombshell a couple of nights ago about Republicans actually having the real Barry Soetoro birth certificate. If this is indeed so, each minute that elapses without this document seeing the light of day makes me more suspect and wondering if we’re getting smoke blown up our asses. I think deep down, a lot of Black voters know that the DNC rigged the election for Obama. He, they cheated. I was debating Backtrack with a family member of mine, it was pretty heated, and finally she said, “Well, White people have done far worse throughout the years.”
I kind of saw her view as payback, in the sense that, yes, there has been a lot of racism in this country, so therefore, she doesn’t care if Barack cheated because White people have done wrong things as well. I swear, if anyone has a sense of entitlement, it’s these Obamabots.
My view is that anyone who undermines and cheats our voting system needs to be held accountable, I don’t care if they are Black. I was pissed when I saw the GOP and Dubya/Jeb cheat, and I’m pissed when I see the DNC and Barack doing the same thing.
I am not black, and I could never relate to the black experience. I have never doubted the tribulations of the AA community, particularly in past history. It is a shame Obama is setting back race relations in this country by decades. I am a 25-year Dem who is of the same generation as Obama. I wish I could support him. I cannot. For me, race is not a problem, but Obama’s racist views are (among a hundred other issues).

I completely agree about the wasted potential and that he didn’t have to cheat.
America craves to have a geniunely honorable President…not one who just says he is.
Or lies about his opponent’s issues in ads or on the stump when he really has the same shame in his background.

Obama, in his own book, portrayed his grandmother as a typical white person. These words are forever in print and in his family history. Perhaps he should have thought more about what he says before his words became a lasting impression on the public’s mind.
I do not believe him to be a wonderful, family man or a devout christian of 20 years. I believe it was reported that he hasn’t seen his grandmother for many years. Never heard that he calls her once a week, once a month or even once a year.
Obama and Michelle have brought their children to listen to Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s hatefilled and racist sermons for several years. Malia is 10 and Sasha is 7 (their ages may be reversed, can’t be positive).
The TUCC, in my opinion, isn’t even advocating christian valuues. Jeremiah Wright has the title Reverend but did not graduate from any Theological Seminary, Coolege or University which means he does not have his Doctorate in Theology. His sermons are based on Black Theology quite different from Christian theology.
Anyway, in my opinion, Obama will do whatever is necessary to show the American people that he has the core values of country, family and home, as well as his supposed best interest for the American people.
NOTE: He was not elected fair and square. He was selected by the DNC not the American voters. There is a petition for legal action to be taken regarding rigged caucasies, illegal foreign campaign funds, his forged COLB which Israel Insider had exposed several weeks ago. One discovery was the problematic inconsistency with the borders. Etc….

GROW Up people! There are hundreds of pictures of Obama, his grandma and the girls in Chicago. We were inundated with them many times the lasr few years. If you’re going after someone, at least act like grown ups. Speaking of grown ups, I went grocery shopping today and ALL the checkout people had T-shirts saying “JOHN McCAIN IS A SCUMBAG” with a very unfl.attering picture. It was interesting. Shoppers loved it! Is it cool to do that? they were selling the shirts as well and ran out. I got 4 of them for souveniers.
The guy that’s setting up the 3 debates was on MSNBC and said that to participate they had to be american citizens. he said that was already taken careof and both candidates are qualified and citizens of the USA. He said the crazy bloggers make up nonsense and there are NO problems with either one.
