Crotchety Jack Cafferty Calls The Denver Group “Humorless”?

Cough. Jack, you old grouch. During the primaries, you might as well have had “I overlook no opportunity to undermine Hillary” stamped on your forehead. Here’s the crabby curmudgeon’s latest attack:

Some Hillary Clinton supporters want to make sure that the upcoming Democratic Convention doesn’t turn into a “coronation” of Barack Obama.

capt9604c948da714014b1cfb1d6e7116845russia_georgia_mosb189.jpgA humorless organization called “The Denver Group” ran an ad in a Capitol Hill newspaper demanding that Hillary’s name be placed in nomination at the convention and demanding that speeches be allowed in support of her nomination. They’re just full of demands. [HOW UNAMERICAN OF THE DENVER GROUP! Why, THEY'RE NO BETTER THAN THOSE GEORGIANS WITH ALL THEIR DEMANDS! FOR DEMOCRACY, NO LESS! HOW UNREASONABLE IS THAT?!?!?!? DEMANDING DEMOCRACY! SUCH RENEGADES!]

And if they don’t get their way they are threatening a revolt. The ad says, “Will Howard Dean and the DNC turn the Democratic Party into the Boston Tea Party?” More demands. They demand a roll call vote on her nomination… presumably after those speeches they are demanding. This despite the fact that she lost and dropped out of the race months ago. …

What’s going on?

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-08-12 19:37:10

Cafferty’s a misogynist and dry drunk. I mute or turn the channel as soon as he starts to talk. And I watch less and less of CNN.

Comment by Watchoveramerica | 2008-08-12 22:33:42

Roseeriter,

I can’t stand old Jack Cafferty. He is the grossest man (if you can call him that).
I hate CNN now too. I barely ever watch it.

But I too if I should just by some slim chance be watching CNN and he comes on I mute it or change it immediately.
How can CNN have a scummy old guy like that on who is so pro-Obama. I have to wonder WHY?
Perhaps he is married to an African American.

“Humorless” is the new insult. I expect Obama will use it a lot, since it’s a weakness he’d overlooked.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-08-12 22:30:27

Curious that Obama would use “humorless” as an insult considering that he is the “poster boy” for exactly that. He takes “humorless” to the ;eve; of an art form.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-08-12 22:31:33

Sorry, “level” not “;eve;”.

Why have women bought into the requirement by men that feminists or in this case (Denver Group) are supposed to be funny?

Did we expect people who fought in the civil war to be funny?

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-08-12 19:11:53

Did my attempt at ironic humor fail?

My point is that The Denver Group is simply requesting that the convention be conducted democratically. Jack Cafferty finds their request to be an unreasonable demand.

When requesting democratic process is unreasonable, we are truly in a crisis, and nearing the horrible predicament in Georgia.

The people of Georgia simply wish to live in a democracy.

The CaffertyFile blog doesn’t allow any comments that are in anyway Anti-Obamba or Pro-Clinton. They started moderating comments back in February. Only Obambi lovefest comments are allowed. His daily questions have always been of an anti-Hillary nature. I gave up in March trying to post comments there. And I’ve written CNN many times since February about the sexism going on by their broadcasters. They don’t want to hear it.

I heard that the keynote speech has been yanked from HRC and she will be just 1 of 4 speakers.

‘Ben Smith, crackerjack reporter and all around stud-muffin, over at Politico exhibited his usual “reporting” today and announced that the Obama/Soetoro campaign had yanked back the Convention’s Keynote Address from Hillary Clinton.

Now, the Obama/Soetoro campaign says Clinton will be only one of four people speaking on the 26th, and that someone else will instead be the Keynote Speaker.’

I have to confess I’m very close to shutting out the rest of the primary/GE. I will never vote for Waffles and I can’t stand to watch what the DNC is doing to HRC.

Comment by Tumby J | 2008-08-12 20:04:39

I’ll tell you what’s wrong…” just as he launches into a profanity and spittle laced tirade about a subject about which he knows less than he knows about neutrinos or mu meson particles.

Excretory orifices of his ilk cured me of drinking in public places and start doing all my imbibing at home, on the porch, with company I chose.

Comment by June125 | 2008-08-12 19:13:20

Larry or anyone interested,

Perhaps someone should write a brief story for publication here with the title “Share Your Stories of Negative Experiences with Obama Supporters.” Out in anonymous cyberspace, in political discussion forums and elsewhere, people who are now supporting Obama who never were Clinton supporters seem dumbfounded at the reports of hostily, vilification, and playing the race card that Clinton supporters received from Obama supporters during the campaign. They always play dumb and claim “no one ever gives specificis.” Well, perhaps we should open up to the readers of the this forum and ask them to share with everyone the kinds of things they experienced at the hands of the Obama thugs. This could then be a compendium, a summary, of all the indignities we faced merely for daring not to support the Chosen One. It might be a good idea to put together. I imagine many who joined PUMA dealt directly with these any many others issues (such as sexism).

Comment by fif | 2008-08-12 19:28:49

I think that’s a good idea. I’ve thought of something along those lines: let’s show the world what “Hope” & “Change” really looks like. Expose the outrageous hypocrisy, bullying, and anti-democratic practices of Obama’s campaign and it’s proponents.

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-08-12 19:42:14

No one at CNN could possibly take Jack seriously. He is newsworthy as their “lighter moment” always, perhaps a counter to Fox’s O’Reilly…they only share similar backgrounds.

But he is still on the air, perhaps because he is in the protected EEOC “Over 40″ class of employees that can sue CNN if he is fired, for age discrimination.

Comment by Anne | 2008-08-12 19:37:25

I am in that class also. It is a strange thing that most of our productive and experienced members of our society have a foothold on the legal system to sue it. Must be a good reason.

Comment by chezmadame | 2008-08-12 19:23:30

Here’s the comment that I left on Cafferty’s blog:

“Why should Hillary Clinton’s delegates be treated any differently than the delegates for all of the previous Democratic Conventions?

There have only been four conventions since 1832 during which the nominee was decided by acclamation instead of a ballot, and all four nominees were incumbents (FDR, LBJ, Bill Clinton, and Al Gore).

Hillary Clinton’s supporters simply want her to have the same opportunity that all of her predecessors have had. Barack Obama is still a candidate, albeit the presumptive nominee, but he is not an incumbent.

Imagine the outcry if Senator Clinton had been selected by the DNC and the historic opportunity for Obama’s name to be put in nomination was stonewalled by party insiders in the name “appearing unified”.

Frankly, if Senator Obama can’t face the same challenges that all other non-incumbent Democratic nominees have had to face, how on earth will the Democratic Party be able to beat John McCain?”

I posted it at 4:14 PM. At 4:45, it was there, but still awaiting moderation.

Well. it’s not there anymore. Jack Cafferty is a coward who is afraid to let viewers see the unvarnished, “unmoderated” truth. Jack doesn’t trust American voters to think for themslves, so he censors those who disagree with his point of view.He would have been more at home at Pravda than he is on American television.

Shame on him.

Obviously only comedians should run for office now.
If you can’t display a ’sense of humor’ about something as serious as the next POTUS, considering the mess we’re in, there’s something wrong with you.

Of course Obama’s lack of sense of humor about any criticism (only bitter white folks and racists criticize him) is a sign of his strength.

Joking about calling people racists is okay. Joking about a Presidential candidate being a b*tch, c*nt, and wh*re is fine. I wonder where Cafferty’s outrage and ’sense of humor’ went about that?

Keep digging.

Oh, and one other interesting bit of “moderation” that’s going on at realclearpolitics.com

I was wondering why Obama’ poll number climbed from a miserable 2.8 points ahead to 4.8 points ahead in just a few days. Is Obama gaining support?

No. A few days ago realclearpolitics (a CNN website) stopped averaging in the USA Today/Gallup poll and the Fox News Poll when they do their calculations.

It’s kind of like when a teacher only uses the “good” grades so that her little favorite doesn’t fail. Pretty unethical.

Now who dug this up? Yet another possibility:

There is also a “Barrack Hussein Mohamed Obama” born on 23 August 1961 in Canada — which is where people are saying Obama was really born — not Hawaii.

The Kenya rumor is one I cannot find anything on. At the time of Obama’s birth, his pregnant mother would have had a hard time getting all the immunizations needed to enter Kenya. So I don’t believe this rumor is valid.

The first paragraph could clear up how Ann could show up on Mercer Island when BO “was about 3 weeks old” according to Ann’s friend, yet Ann could not have the hang of the diaper thing yet.
And the second has an excellent point, even 10 years later it would have been necessary to get a vaccination for yellow fever, and typhus and others also advised.

We fight hard because we care deeply about our principles and purposes. We did not flee this struggle. We welcome the contrast with the empty and expedient spectacle last month in Detroit where no nomination was contested, no question was debated, and no one dared to raise any doubt or dissent.”

IT’S BEEN MY FIRM SILENT BELIEF FOR A COUPLE MONTHS NOW, THAT BARRY WAS BORN IN VANCOUVER CANADA. I have every reason to believe this for a pregnant woman who lived in Seattle area in the early 60’s. She went to a unwed mothers home and had Barry, to be put up for adoption, but later changed her mind and didn’t sign the papers. She ended up taking Barry over to Seattle on the ferry and went to visit her old high school friend. This I firmly believe. Vancouver and Seattle are a couple hours apart.

add Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair as well as Newsweek to that list.

This guy is so unpleasant to watch and hear,a self-aggrandized dreary dolt made for dunce tv, CNN.

Are there people who really pay attention to him?

Yes, but most of them live in Horizontal High-Rises (trailer parks; “tin Taj Mahals”) and he has to contend with the unfortunate overlapping of his screen time with The Early Bird Special at the local buffet joint and “Matlock” reruns.

Jack Cafferty has a monopoly on Humorless.

To paraphrase George Castanza The Humorless Store called, when Jack left, he cleaned them out of product.

Like Steve Martin said, “Everyone thinks they have a sense of humor, even people who don’t.”

Maybe Jack needs some educating on the convention and the role of the superdelegates. These are worth the watch:

Jack Cafferty’s as funny as a fart in the Confessional.

I cannot stand that man. I keep trying to write the words to explain, but I have to keep erasing because I don’t have the words to express it. He’s disgusting and makes me want to puke.

I was flipping through the channels and I heard him bitching about the Clintons not sucking up to Obama. He called Bill Clinton a jerk. Jack Cafferty called Bill Clinton…an ex-president with some of the highest approval ratings in history…a jerk. And he said it with contempt too.

GRRRR. Waste of space, time, and money on tv.

Jack Cafferty is a biased hack … instead of being an objective journalist, he’s consistently chosen to be in the tank for Obama. When McCain wins in November, Cafferty and the rest of the media cronies who have tried to cram Obama down our throats, will all be irrelevant.

Cafferty, It’s obvious that you’ve become the far left’s attack dog, as well as the biggest ass hole in America. I guess CNN keeps you aboard (while making sure to disclaim your biased opinions as yours and not theirs) because you’re controversial. And controversy sells newspapers. I just hope your gross misuse of your position results in your pitiful and complete demise.

Jack (and soda) Cafferty is what Joe Pesci might call: “a jaggovvv”. He was an admittedly abusive alcoholic who also ran over a bicyclist in New Yoirk then fled the scene, running two red lights in the process before the cops stopped him. NOTE TO JACK CAFFERTY(got your pen, reporter man?): A furrowed brow doesn’t NECESSARILY make you a hard core newsman. Cronkite had one, so did Brinkly et al…But you don’t amount to even a pimple on their asses. You are smug and arrogant without THE LEAST bit of reason to be. Shut up.
