Obama’s Christian Journey

obamawright.jpgObama decided that it was important to hand out a 12 page booklet to the 2,200 people who streamed through Saddleback’s doors that chronicled the candidate’s “Christian journey” and his long relationship with Reverend Rick Warren (ahem! all of two years!). It may have been an aggressive move but, not very smart! The specter of Reverend Jeremiah Wright is upon us once more!

Let’s roll those clips!

Offensive! And hateful!

Do you remember this one?

And one I have never seen or heard before, told from the perspective of John Q. Public! Just love the signs from Trinity United Christian Church (TUCC).

And if all of this isn’t bad enough Obama is pandering to the right. He is turning the Democratic National Convention into a “kumbayah” moment!

The campaign also announced Saturday that the upcoming Democratic National Convention would have a strong religious flavor, with “faith caucus meetings” to discuss religious voters’ concerns and daily invocations and benedictions from national faith leaders. The list includes Joel Hunter, a prominent Republican pastor from an evangelical Florida church; a Greek Orthodox archbishop; a Roman Catholic nun from Cleveland; and a Colorado couple who are both Methodist ministers.

Topics of the faith caucus meetings include “How an Obama Administration Will Engage People of Faith”; “Moral Values Issues Abroad”; and “Getting Out the Faith Vote.”

One piece of advice Obama, the convention will be televised. We will remember your 20 years of sitting in the pews and listening to Reverend Jeremiah Wright. In your own words! I didn’t know, I wasn’t there…….

Then we will remember when Wright says “I do what pastors do and he does what politicians do”. In Wright’s own words here:

Are you truly sure you want us to remember your “Christian journey”?

Yes, but just saw CNN & apparently the Obama camp are accusing McCain of not being in the “cone of silence” while Obama was being interviewed last night…thus, McCain may have known the questions ahead of time. I guess that’s the O’ camps latest, pathetic attempt to explain why McC was SO much better last night!

The only way that’s going to happen is if someone who is not affiliated with the GOP goes to Indonesia and digs up the same kind of hard proof of Soetoro’s true nationality, religion and legal name that the GOP is rumored to have against him and is just waiting until after he is the official nominee before releasing them.

Off Topic

Who “sent” Obama?

My best guess is that it would have been Tom Ayers who vetted Obama to Sidley and that would have helped him get the attention of someone like Newton Minow. (And that would come in very handy later in Obama’s career as Kaufman suggests but not just because of the fund raising that Minow could help with but perhaps also helping with an introduction to the Kennedy family, whose recent endorsement of Obama came at such a critical moment in his campaign.)

It is highly unlikely that a 30-something second year lawyer would have been plucked from relative obscurity out of a left wing law firm to head up something as visible and important in Chicago as the Annenberg Challenge by Bill Ayers if Ayers had not a lready known Obama very well. Obama likely proved himself to Ayers in the battle for local school control when at the DCP in the 80s. One guess as to why Obama does not play up his educational experience more thoroughly now – it certainly could be of use to him one would think in beefing up his “I have the experience to be President” argument – is that it would lead to a renewed discussion of the Bill Ayers connection, which is clearly toxic for Obama. This likely explains why Obama tried a kind of head fake when asked about Ayers in the recent TV debate. Obama said Ayers was a “professor of english.” Yet, Obama chaired the Annenberg Challenge for three years and served on its board for another three years, working closely with Ayers on grants to Chicago schools. And he did not know that Ayers was a professor of education? That strains credulity.

Valerie Jarrett!

Comment by Uña de Gato | 2008-08-17 19:01:10

OBSP, what do you know about Valerie Jarrett? I saw her on CBS the other night and she seemed scary smart. What is her story?

Comment by Judy | 2008-08-17 20:40:21

Valerie Jarrett has deep connections to both the Daley machine and the University of Chicago. Her father, James Bowman, is Professor Emeritus in Pathology and Medicine at UC. Jarrett served in the Daley administration as Deputy Chief of Staff. In 1991, Michelle was working for the law firm of Sidley Austin (where Michelle met Barack and where Bernadine Dohrn, wife of Ayers, was employed) but was lured away for a position with Daley by Jarrett. Although not yet married to Barack, he insisted on meeting with Jarrett before he would “allow” Michelle to accept Jarrett’s offer. Jarrett left City Hall to lead the Chicago Transit Authority and made sure that Michelle served on its citizen advisory committee. Michelle eventually made her way to the University of Chicago where Jarrett was “appointed Chair of the University of Chicago Medical Center Board, Chair of a newly created Executive Committee of that board, and Vice-Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees.” Jarrett is also CEO of the Habitat Company, a residential real estate firm that is heavily involved in Chicago’s privatization of its low-income housing program.

Reporter Evelyn Pringle has noted that:

When it came time for Obama’s US Senate campaign, Valerie Jarrett became the campaign finance chairman and worked hand and hand with fellow finance committee members, Rita and Tony Rezko, and his former boss at the law firm, Allison Davis, in fundraising endeavors. The committee raised more than $14 million, according to Federal Election Commission records, Tim Novak reported in the Sun-Times on April 23, 2007.

An July 2008 article in the Boston Globe states that Habitat Co. was responsible until this past winter for the management of Grove Parc Plaza, a collection of 504 federally subsidized apartments located in Obama’s former state district. The article states:

About 99 of the units are vacant, many rendered uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage. Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition.

Habitat also “co-managed an even larger subsidized complex in Chicago that was seized by the federal government in 2006, after city inspectors found widespread problems.”

Someone ask Obama to cite one line of scripture from the Bible. I just don’t think he could do it.

His answers to faith based questions always seem unsure– like he’s trying to find the right words.

When you are a person of faith, those answers come naturally. And with Obama that it always seems forced.

Is it because the message he learned at TUCC is in different to mainsteam christian principles?

Comment by Steve1 | 2008-08-17 19:23:17

Yes, but he does know the Call to prayer for Allah!

Comment by Faith-NoBama | 2008-08-17 19:27:11

His answers to faith based questions always seem unsure– like he’s trying to find the right words.

I agree. He misquoted Matthew and said that “hopefully” his sins would be washed away. (I’ve also seen him use Matthew and Leviticus to mock Christians.)

Remember this very telling statement:

So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

300 advisors can tell you how to answer questions but none of them changed his heart.

I’m not looking to vote for a pastor but I don’t want to vote for a liar: Obama has proven himself to be just that.

Comment by SEC | 2008-08-17 20:10:57

Where did he misquote Matthew? And where has he used Matthew and Leviticus to mock Christians?

Comment by SEC | 2008-08-17 20:09:43

Sigh. He did last night when he quoted from Micah 6:8. In fact, guess how many times McCain mentioned God or Jesus by name. Zero.

As a minister, I found that his answers were very natural, and very believable. I found his answers regarding salvation far more compelling than McCain’s. My job isn’t to judge, but when it comes to explaining salvation, Obama’s the one who I would want to do it between him and McCain.

This has nothing to do with the preparedness of being president, but it’s worth mentioning.

Comment by StrawberrybitesBarky | 2008-08-17 20:15:45

No offense, but I could care less what or who a president prays to as long as he puts the American people first.

Comment by SEC | 2008-08-17 20:21:54

Fair enough. I was simply arguing the point that I believe is unfounded. That’s all.

Comment by ohio | 2008-08-18 10:34:37

Sec, so you’re a minister? So as a minister, are you a christian minister? And if you are, what is the way to heaven? And is there a heaven? I have my own reasons for asking. You see, I listened to a speech of Obama’s where he was asked these questions and he said there are many paths to heaven. Wrong. And then he said he wasn’t sure if there was a heaven. Wrong again. I ask because I have seen many lies that he “the one” has spoken. And as a christian, I know that the word alone means a follower of Christ. So, according to the bible, there is only one way to heaven and God and that is through the son, Jesus. And if you don’t believe in a heaven, then the first point is moot. Obama is not a christian. I don’t know what he is, but I know he is not a christian. He is just pandering, lying and will do whatever to get elected. Now, I will also say, that I don’t care that he’s not a christian, but I do care that he has chosen to lie about it. At least Wright was right on one count and that is that Obama will say whatever it takes to get elected.
And if you are a minister, you are leading your flock astray.

Sec…..As a minister….You surely understand how the Theologian Cardinal Rattenzinger ( Now Pope Benedict ) objected to the synthesis of Marxism with a Heretical interpretation of Jesus and Christianity to expose and condemn Liberation Theology that swept Latin America in the 70’s and 80’s.
Liberation Theology = Christian Heresy

Liberation Theology is Marxism wrapped in the Baby Jesus.
Black Liberation Theology defines the Marxist class struggle as a racial one.
Black Liberation Theology is the FASCIST Daughter of the Marxist Parent.

Any Christian Doctrinal Instruction Obama/Soetero received was warped with Heresy and Fascist justification of the heresy.
What unites Nation of Islam and TUCC = Fascism

Hey Barry -

Explain your long-standing “relationship” with the (also) twenty-year choir director, murdered execution-style (Chicago hit job) days before your debut on the national political stage, after he had been in correspondence with Larry Sinclair, another paramour ready to blow the whistle.

It’s been alleged that Wright was right in the middle of that,(in more ways than one) too.

after building a boat from a cherry tree he chopped down with a toothbrush handle he sharpened on the bare concrete floor of his log cabin and subsequently rowing all the way across the pacific ocean by himself to hawaii. you forgot that part.

Comment by Ms. Misdemeanor | 2008-08-17 21:03:26

You missed a bit of the story.

In Hawaii, while searching for Grandma, he unfortunately booked passage on the Granma, ended up in the Sierra Maestre and helped Castro and Guevara liberate Cuba.

But this revolution was not faith-based, and profoundly disillusioned, he built a raft, and after a perilous crossing, ended up in Key West and then Miami.

The Cuban exile community was so impressed by this guy’s heroics, that they gave him a one way ticket back to Hawaii, so that he could finally reunite with Grandma.

If you don’t believe this story ask the Cuban exile community in Miami.

The obscenity of the Democratic Party’s manipulation of young voters and black voters pales in comparison to their apparently intended manipulation of “faith-based” religious sensibilities in this campaign.

It’s hypocritical; it’s blasphemous; it’s evil.

And it seems to be the only way they think can gain the White House without older voters, women, and white working class adults.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-17 21:33:08

Young People are stupid as f*ck. I know i was one.

Can’t find it? Yeah me neither.

Now look for a Young person doing it.

like look here!!

What does this tell you?

It tells you that when we are young and stupid we will do lots of stupid things.

Now do you really think they are aware of what they are doing voting for obama?

Obama’s Edge in the Coverage Race

By Deborah Howell
Sunday, August 17, 2008; B06

Democrat Barack Obama has had about a 3 to 1 advantage over Republican John McCain in Post Page 1 stories since Obama became his party’s presumptive nominee June 4. Obama has generated a lot of news by being the first African American nominee, and he is less well known than McCain — and therefore there’s more to report on. But the disparity is so wide that it doesn’t look good.

I’ve written this before here, but there are great quotes from 2 ex-Posties at Politico about how love struck some of the Post reporters were/are. John Harris said:

As one who has assigned journalists to cover Obama at both Politico and The Washington Post, I have witnessed the phenomenon several times. must watch…CSpan replay today, 8/10/08 was the live date, of McGovern, Adlai Stevenson III, Jesse Jackson Sr. and John Andersen and a couple of others discussing the Democratic primary system. Fixing the multiple problems we have created for ourselves needs to be priority numero uno, after BHO loses this November, for 2012.

Oh, I forgot. I resigned from the Democratic Party. Perhaps some or many will return if there is a true desire to make the Democratic Party democratic.

I want to cast my dissenting vote as a Democrat.

I also didn’t want to give anyone any excuses to fuck with my registration and keep me from voting.

The most important thing I recall from it was McGovern saying having no SD’s and him being the nominee - he was unelectable in the GE, won Mass and D.C., but having SD’s for Mondale - he was also unelectable in the GE, winning Minn. and D.C. Made no difference having them or not. And the point of having them was to keep the Dem’s from electing an unelectable GE candidate. I predict Obama will win only Illinois and D.C. in the GE.

Horseapples…
The statement refers to the FACT that Barry had never been in a black environment in his whole life. His first American school experience took place in Hawaii where he would have been in the smallest racial group because he was mostly White. College? In his “Dreams…” Law school? Ah yes, nothing like those wonderful ethics papers he wrote in Ebonics.
The first time he spent in the majority company of the downtrodden Brothers and Sisters described to him by “Uncle Frank” was when he moved to Chicago. Barry did have to learn to be black. He had to learn to talk the talk and all that shit because he never had that cultural exposure.
That you call statements of fact “racism” is, in its own right vastly more insidious and racist.
Truth always trumps your smalltime race cards.

Comment by wry | 2008-08-17 23:13:50

There’s nothing racist about that statement. Barack Obama is a bi racial man raised by his white Grandparents. He was looking for an authentic black identity.

Where is the racism?

Comment by Obama for President of Indonesia | 2008-08-18 14:47:19

What about his white parents identity
You racist.

Comment by street_parade | 2008-08-18 01:29:07

That’s not a racist comment SEC. BO says so himself. He is most distinctly NOT a product of African-American culture. He is bi-racial, raised in Hawaii and Indonesia by a white mother and white grandparents. He attended an exclusive prep school in Hawaii and elite colleges: Occidental, Columbia and Harvard. Unlike virtually all other African-Americans he is NOT the descendent of slaves.

You don’t have to watch BO for too long before it is apparent he is far more comfortable around rich, white, elitists than he is in the African-American community.

I found this link through a post the other day. I will continue to pass it on. I recommend that everyone read it.
Lying for Islam is exceptable. Here is a sight to go to read about “Taqiyya”. It is very CHILLING and it fits Obama.

The word “Taqiyya” literally means: “Concealing, precaution, guarding.” It is employed in disguising one’s beliefs, intentions, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions or strategies. In practical terms it is manifested as dissimulation, lying, deceiving, vexing and confounding with the intention of deflecting attention, foiling or pre-emptive blocking. It is currently employed in fending off and neutralising any criticism of Islam or Muslims.

It’s not “chilling” at all. Taquiyya is an element of the Islamic faith. You may not like it, or agree with it, but it is what it is–a stupid little “rule” that MEN made up, because THEY “know” what Allah thinks–they have a hotline to the guy.

If you feel you’re in danger, you lie like a rug. That’s the rule in a nutshell!

Everyone does it, the only “special” thing about it as relates to Islam is that Allah gives you a dispensation to lie about your faith if you think you’re going to be killed or maimed.

The Ayatollahs love to gripe about this practice, too. It used to be a primarily Shi’a practice, but since Sunnis started getting persecuted in pockets here and there, they’re feeling it, too.

Now, if you want to suggest that Obama is practicing taquiyya, go right ahead. Personally, I don’t think Obama gives a flying shit about ANYTHING BUT OBAMA–not his fake “Christian” faith, not his childhood Islamic education, not anything but HIMSELF. It actually takes discipline and knowledge to be a halfway decent Muslim, and Obama doesn’t have the “right stuff” to even do that in a serious and meaningful way.

Comment by navyvet48 | 2008-08-17 23:17:32

You have it backwards. Russia knows this is exactly the right time to act up, if you will. Russia knows we can’t do anything militarily because our troops are tied in a two frontal war!

If we were in a recession, the Russians would be doing this stuff because then we would be financially weak.

They attack Democratic countries because they hate the fact they are leaning to our side.

Putin isn’t tring to make anothe communist party but he is resurrecting the Czarist days!

(Comments wont nest below this level)

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-17 23:37:56

Respectfully, I have a slightly different perspective.

It looks to me as if Russia feels threatened by our persistent efforts to turn former Soviet-block nations directly on the Russian homeland border into NATO-member states. Essentially, to hem them in militarily.

They undoubtably also feel threatened by our efforts to place anti-ballistic missile systems in some of those same countries.

So there’s Georgia. A paid, registered agent and lobbyist for the Republic of Georgia is McCain’s top foreign policy advisor. The guy is also a member of PNAC and president of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq. This guy has been lobbying hard to bring Georgia into NATO.

The Georgians suddenly launch a full-scale military incursion into South Ossetia–right on the Russian border–which Russia has a UN mandate to protect. They kill 2000 civilians, and kill Russian peacekeepers stationed there in the process.

Why would they do this? They know the Russians outclass them militarily. Apparently somebody led them to believe they could get away with this.

Of course the Russians are pissed. And of course they’re poised to retalliate. They’ve been watching developments next door for a long time. The next day they do. With a vengence. They know we’re up to the same shit in Ukraine. They decide it’s time to make a point. Which, hopefully, they have done.

Hopefully they will roll back out of Georgia, point made. Hopefully we will change our behavior somewhat, and be content to have a non-NATO buffer around Russia instead of a threatening NATO presence. But I’m not sure John McCain got the message.

This is one of the reasons John McCain worries me.

No doubt the majority of them are John McCain supporters. I suppose it follows that all of those McCain supporters are dangerous lunatics? A bunch of crazy white people?

“Those who live by the Qur’an have a scriptural mandate to kill Christians and Jews… it teaches that very clearly.”

Hagee is equally fond of Catholics.

And Hagee thinks Hitler was God’s “hunter”; His instrument for driving the Jewish people to Palestine as part of the Great Plan.

You seem to have some equally interesting ideas about Reverend Wright and his church.

Comment by athy | 2008-08-17 23:44:46

Valsthewoman-
Although the topic of race was brought up constantly in this campaign by Sen Obama & his handlers, the topic of reparations for slavery was never discussed.

What about Sen Obama’s position regarding reparations for slavery from western and ex-colonial European powers for Africa and African nations?

During the 2001 UN-sponsored World Conference against Racism, many African nations demanded an apology-plus other things- from ex-colonial European nations for the role they (European nations) had in promoting the slave trade. Why doesn’t Sen Obama ever discuss this very important ‘race’ issue.

What is Sen Obama’s position on this issue?

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/africa/09/01/durban.slavery/index.html

Another interesting article (see below) which may allow us to infer what Sen Obama’s position on reparations issue MIGHT BE:

http://www.newsweek.com/id/128633/page/1

“When Barry Became Barack” by Richard Wolffe, Jessica Ramirez and Jeffrey Bartholet
NEWSWEEK 3/31/08 Issue
I found this story very interesting however I was quiet surprised when I reached the last page.
The author recounted a story that was passed on to Sen Obama by white family members concerning an incident at a waikiki bar involving Sen Obama’s bio-dad Barry Sr.
“Barry’s white grandfather and several other Hawaiian friends take Barry Sr. to a Waikiki bar. It’s a joyous scene, everyone eating and drinking “to the sounds of a slack-key guitar,” when a white man with a booming voice announces to the bartender that he shouldn’t have to drink “next to a nigger.” The stunned clientele expects a fight. But Barry Sr. smiles and quietly lectures the man “about the folly of bigotry, the promise of the American dream, and the universal rights of man.” In response, the shamed white man gives Barry Sr. $100, in apparent payment for his sin of racism. Even the young Obama found the tale hard to believe. But many years later, he recalls in “Dreams From My Father,” he got a phone call from a Japanese-American man who had been a classmate of Barry Sr.’s in Hawaii. Unprompted, the man told Obama the same story. Obama says he was struck by the man’s tone of “disbelief—and hope.”
I have wondered for a while now why , although Sen

Obama talks about certain race issues he omits discussion on a VERY IMPORTANT RACE ISSUE: Reparations for slavery. You can imagine my surprise when I got to the last page of the Newsweek article. I am prompted to re-ask my question.

Reparations for slavery both in the U.S and in Africa- Last year Sen Obama supported the very controversial 3rd ward Ald. Dorothy Tillman in her runoff against an independent candidate. Tillman is one of the most important and outspoken U.S advocates of reparations for slavery.

More excerpts from reports about how the caucus delegate count has been distorted in BO’s favor by the caucuses and the DNC. We are depending on Super Delegates to take this into account when they identify and vote for the electable Democrat.

The 2008 Democratic Party nomination for the presidency was stolen from Hillary Clinton and given to Barack Obama by certain members of the party leadership.

Five states (NH, NV, SC, MI and FL) broke the DNC’s primary timing rules, but only two—big states that Hillary was sure to win, Michigan and Florida—were penalized. The holding back of those two states allowed Obama to claim he was ahead in the race, even when he wasn’t. Unfortunately, a lot of people fell for that nonsense and started to consider him the frontrunner. That had an impact on media coverage and likely influenced the vote in later primaries. Paul Lukasiak documented this problem on several blogs, including InsightAnalytical, and found other evidence of what he calls “’stop Hillary’ corruption” among the party leadership.

There was manipulation, if not outright fraud, in the caucuses. A group is making a film about it, and Lynette Long offers a detailed report. Pacific John, writing at MyDD, gave us a taste of what went on in Texas, but it wasn’t the only state with serious problems reported. Dr. Long has started a new website, Caucus Fraud, to document as much as possible of what happened.

Peniel Cronin’s final report, “Primary versus Caucus: How millions of voters were systemically disenfranchised and election results were skewed” has just been published at TalkLeft (pdf). The most significant findings:

Though voters in all 13 caucus states cast only 2.9% of the total 35.9 million votes, those caucus votes control 14.6% of the pledged delegates and 15.5% of the Super delegates sent to the DNC Convention…

39 Primaries with 34.8 million voters gave Clinton a lead in both votes and delegates. Caucuses with 1.1 million voters gave Obama 300,000 more votes and 206 more delegates.

Rather than being penalized for the tactical move of removing his name from the Michigan ballot, on May 31 Obama was rewarded instead, by the Rules & Bylaws Committee of the DNC. He was given delegates who did not vote for him, and was even given four of HILLARY’s delegates. There is no precedent for that kind of theft.

Had the RBC not halved the votes from Florida and Michigan and given to Obama delegates who didn’t vote for him, Hillary would also be ahead in pledged delegates. From Riverdaughter:

[N]ow we know why the RBC did what [they] did. She had over 100 delegates from Florida and 73 from Michigan. If he got zero from Michigan and both states had been able to seat with full strength, she could have added over 86 delegates and he would have lost 59. Hmm, that brings her total to 1725 and Obama’s to 1707.

If that’s not a stolen nomination, I don’t know what is.

Super Delegates - you can cure this and get us back to the White House - Hillary Clinton is the only electable Democrat!

it’s just about electing an African American president–wouldn’t matter if he had an IQ of 200 or 20. And that’s so unfortunate, but I guess America has a way to go before it won’t matter what race the candidate is. He being the first AA to get this close has a large portion of the population not even thinking straight. This man should have bided his time. He’s young. He needed to learn to be a true civil servant and serve this country in the Senate some more, rather than listen to the witch in his mirror that he’s the fairest in the land. (She might have looked a lot like Oprah.)

It wasn’t his turn. But now that the DNC has placed him on this pedestal, they can’t take him down without risking all-out war among their ranks.

What Hillary brought was years of experience and genuine concern for this country. McCain brings years of major accomplishments in service for this country and the wisdom that comes from age, as well as a deep love and concern. Age is a good thing.

BO wants glory. BO wants cities renamed for him, his face on a coin, mothers in America to name their children after him. No one will ever convince me that he has this country’s best interests in his heart. He had barely become an Illinois state senator when he began his mission for a US Senate seat. He barely became that and he coyly tested the waters for the presidency.
He has truly done NOTHING worthy of a presidential position.

The Obama juice not only causes CDS, it also acts as a memory swiper and/or info veiler…

Time for you to go to detox Kelvin…

The people that backed this fraud are now up against the wall. Think of it, if by some miracle the superdelegates did the right thing and Hillary was the nominee, BO, Axelrod and the mainstream media would not let it go, the cry of ‘racism’ would be deafening, that’s the whole point of BO’s nomination. He’s the one leftist, radical politician that no one can criticize because it’s racism. His pandering to the evangelicals was pathetic, he did that rubbing his face with his forefinger thing and he looked scared to death. How is this disaster going to be President? BO as president will keep us in hell, at least with McCain we’re one step up in Purgatory where we wait for Hillary in 2012.

Here is something else to think about: The black people trusted Obama and elected him to the Ill. State Senate, he directed tax payer money into the pockets of the Chicago Combine and Tomy Rezko.
The tax money came from well intended tax payers who tried to help provide better living conditions to the poor people living in Chicago’s South Side Slums. Obama left them to freeze in the winter and die of heat in the summer, to live in rat and cockroach infested garbage strune slums with broken windows and doors.
Obama got a landmark mansion in Chicago’s historic district, complements of Rezko and the Chicago Combine.

Yet, when South Siders go to church Wright, who knows the truth and has his hand out behind his back for the crooks to fill, just as the Rev Phlem does, tells all the suffering Black folk that it is because of White folk’s greed and racial hate that they suffer - and the Black folk all jump up and clap and shout Amen, Hallelujah.

Think about that,

if that isn’t the race card, I don’t now what is.

If you want to read about Chicago politics, research Illinois hospitals and the Chicago combine.
Hospital boards are a cash cow in Illinois.

Rev. Wright was the turning point for me. I never trusted Obama after seeing his crazy pastor.

I was watching c-span on Sat. 8/16. Waldman, a representative from Media Matters was one of the guests. He basically stated in so many words that bringing up Rev Wright makes a person a racist. If you go to C-span.org you can see the interview.

Here’s an O’Reilly/Fox video that says the same thing about Waldman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xigZDeqdI54

Walman’s analogy is crazy IMO, it’s almost as crazy as Rev. Wright is.

Media Matters is so partisan it’s become a joke. I used to follow their articles, but no more.

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-08-18 01:07:58

I watched that cspan show and that media Matters kid was so in the tank for Obama it totally discredited his ‘unbiased’ search for misinformation in the media. I learned since then that moveon.org is one of Media Matters backers.

Media Matters has been BUSTED.

becky -
All my life I heard that the Almighty, Ever Living God became human and laid down His life in payment to His own sense of perfection for our imperfection. And that in doing so He guaranteed our eternal life. Yes, even yours. And perhaps HE nods and offers and indulgent smile at your fervent but short sighted prayers for an eternity limited to your idea that it should only consist of you using 13 virgins.
Most especially since He also hears the fervent prayers of the 13 Virgins, who pray to be freed. Freed to be who they are and to explore the limitless possibilities provided especially for them by an All Knowing, All Loving, All Powerful God.

If they do seat all the delegates like BO says he wants now, doesn’t that mean he gets eight of Hillary’s Michigan delegates?

Comment by DancingOpossum | 2008-08-18 07:19:08

What exactly did Hillary do besides be married to Bill that will qualify her to be president.

Oh dear God. To list Hillary’s accomplishments long before she even became First Lady would take hours. Describing her work as First Lady, and then as NY Senator would take another full day. And then throw in the fact that she has done more since the primary ended than BO did his entire time in the Senate. And wrap it up with the pretty bow that all of this work has been in concrete areas that expressly helped people livve better lives, especially poor people.

I’d list a small sampling but I know the ‘bots have limited attention spans and I’m all out of sparkly stickers.

Keep in mind that Obama’s first and only christian awakening was in THAT church with THAT minister. He never embraced or followed any organized faith before that. From what I’ve heard, he was exposed to more hate filled rhetoric than to christian faith preaching. So for him to hold up HIS (hate filled) christian faith as an example of his goodness, is only political expediency. It is a far cry from the christianity the the majority of Americans know.
