Happiest Birthday Wishes, Bill

billcandles.jpg

Thanks to Riverdaughter for posting this stunning photograph. (Andy, our ever alert reader, let me know that this photo actually comes from the celebration of Hillary’s birthday in 2006. She looks absolutely gorgeous, and he so handsome!)

We share sm77’s touching wishes for one of our greatest presidents:

Mr. President, may you live a happy, long life, may you continue to bring light and wisdom through your foundation, may we all remember your service to your country and to the world. Thank you President Clinton, from this humble citizen.

Is that VP Gore to the right of Bill and Hillary?

Great photo — by the way of Senator Clinton and President Clinton.

Did everyone see this response from a super delegate to a HRC supporter: (posted by Ricki Lieberman in the EW)

I do not how you got my email but don’t ever email me again! She did not win the primary and I intend on backing our presumptive candidate.
It’s because of emails like this that I will never put a Clinton back in office. I will vote for McCain first!
Fuck You.
Sincerely,
William Jelani Cobb, Ph.D.

This jerk is actually “educated”? To send an email like that is incredibly ignorant, especially for a professor.

Here is his website. Here is a lie he wrote in his letter asking for donations:

“Two weeks ago Hillary Clinton pointed out that even ‘pledged’ delegates are not required to vote in accord with their state population. This kind of backroom dealing would be disastrous to the party and the efforts to see Barack Obama elected in November. As a political historian I know and understand the convention process and as teacher, activist and community member I know what is at stake this year.”

He is clearly an African-American Obamabot who has CDS.

Comment by Hope | 2008-08-20 07:55:02

He forgot to add… and as an African American I will blindly support a candidate becuase of the color of his skin without regard for the diastrous consequences for the nation.

What a joke.

Well, yes you jerk. That’s the point. Delegates should vote for the candidate who won the vote in their primary. And, yes again. If they did that your gang would lose. Absolutely nothing wrong with following the real rules rather than the arbitrary ones you Obamabots make up at your convenience.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-20 00:44:40

I really think this needs a little PUBLICITY. Nothing like a “classy” superdelegate getting all forceful, now, is there? Does anyone know the actual recipient of this charming missive?

Also, I really think Howard Dean needs to see this, and perhaps Donna Brazille.

This guy is a complete TOOL.

I imagine the Dean at his school would like a copy of that for his files, too. After all, his public behavior reflects on that fine institution of higher learning. I rather doubt the rather dignified Spelman likes the idea of professors who say “Fuck You” to complete strangers. Imagine what he must say to his students?

Comment by BlueTopaz | 2008-08-20 01:29:49

What’s worse is his quote,
“It’s because of emails like this that I will never put a Clinton back in office. I will vote for McCain first!”

Hi GUys:

wanted to share what one of the SDs wrote a democrat asking them to switch their votes:

“I received this email from Clinton Dems. It is a copy of an email from a super delegate. If you have a chance drop him a note today:

I recently sent a copy of the open letter that was sent to Howard Dean regarding being disenfranchised by the DNC decision regarding Florida (and Michigan) to about 150 DNC delegates.”

This is the response from Steven J. Ybarra JD of California: (pasted below)

In addition, I’d send that puppy to a bunch of NEWSPAPERS! This fellow could use some publicity, I think.

That’s really classy of that jerk, telling people “Fuck You.”

I’d also send a copy, with headers, to Howard Dean, and let him know just what he’s wrought.

Jesus–did you get a load of that? All this high-faluting commentary about how black men have to stop the violence against black women; so sincere–you’d think the guy was Ghandi reincarnated….but I guess all that peace, love and nonviolence only goes SO FAR.

I am also supposing that a hearty “Fuck you” to a cracker of any gender is still “OK” in his book, particularly if they dare to speak to him, a delegate to our convention, in their capacity as a citizen of the United States and a Democratic Party member!

There are no words….

Interesting. I went to the list of faculty at Spelman and he is not listed.

I guess like Obama, he’s embellishing his resume. There is a serious difference between full time faculty and an adjunct professor. These frauds need to stop acting like they actually have a full time job.

I say send it to the NYT, the Boston Globe, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Denver Post, the National Enquirer, the LA Times, etc. etc. and so forth! With headers! That really IS crass behavior. It MOCKS the process.

Then send a copy to the DNC members, and one to his boss.

He needs a little talking to. I’m sure those parents who scrimp and save to send their kid to Spelman, especially the “traditional” parents with their “legacy” kids, wouldn’t be too happy at all.

For this, they pay thousands of dollars, to have their delicate little scholars taught by Mister Fuck You, PhD! I can imagine some parental irritation…to say the least.

Is this for real??? How can this excuse for a human being be a superdelegate??

We don’t know what the HRC wrote or the tone; but nothing could excuse this kind of response. It is outrageous.

Regency: you should try to get some more info. and mail this to a news outlet (L. Dobbs or ABC/Tapper/Ross or somoene at Fox?).

I suggest also you send it to HRC.

Someone should contact “Dr. Cobb” and politely tell him this is unbecoming behavior from a SD and that he will be outed.

Ugh…. Disgusting.

Comment by Liz B | 2008-08-20 14:11:47

Send it to Sean Hannity at FOX Cable News, it is the only way to get it made public…or Bill O’Reilly might use it as a Talking Point or a Pinhead and Patriots segment.

Sorry to be a bummer but I just read this at HILLBUZZ.

This is terrible news: one of our absolute favorite people in the world, Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, is in the hospital in Cleveland — her illness is not being disclosed at this time.

We truly love this woman, so please send positive thoughts and prayers her way. We saw her on the ground for Hillary in four different states, and she was always PHENOMENAL. SoetorObama supporters have treated her so badly since Clinton suspended her campaign - the way they have treated all Clinton supporters, really. They’ve also threatened her seat in 2010, should SoetorObama win.

This must be enormous stress to deal with, especially when health problems arise.

We’re sure she’d appreciate any kind words for a speedy recovery you can send her — and to let her know that her work in Congress is so appreciated. Some of us here at HillBuzz grew up in Cleveland, and know how hard Tubbs Jones works. The woman is a DYNAMO. There is no one else like her. What Hillary Clinton is to the US Senate, Tubbs Jones is to the House. SHE should be our Speaker.

We love her like a member of the family, so please, please, please pray for her and let her office know how much she matters and how much she is loved.

WOIO Channel 19 is reporting that Tubbs Jones was behind the wheel of a car moving fast in Cleveland Heights. Police tried to pull her over but she was unconscious.

Nicole Williams, spokeswoman for the 11th District congresswoman, had no information about the incident.

Here’s a short blurb for Bill’s birthday. A couple of years ago, Bill was invited to speak at the Panetta Institute here in Monterey. It was sold out the day it was announced. He’s loved here on the Monterey Peninsula. The conference center was packed and overflowed to a second video room with live feed (where I wound up). After his informal talk with Leon (simply wonderful!) as moderator, the local media handled questions, submitted ahead of time, from the audience. One questioner wanted his thoughts on the “first man”. He looked a little taken aback, then laughing said: “Oh, for a minute there, I thought you meant Adam.”

A wonderful spontaneous moment of complete humility from a man who had held the audience in his hand for well over an hour taking time to explain what was happening in the economy, thoughts on losing our civil rights and Bush/Cheney violation of the constitution among other topics. He has such a wonderful way (and Hillary does too) of never condescending to his audience but bringing them along for the ride even on complex topics.

After the conference, I waited out front with the crowd hoping to get his signature on a letter Hillary had sent me during the ‘92 campaign. I got into a conversation with 3 government employee AA’s who had flown out from DC for the event. They were already lined up to campaign for Hillary because they were sure she would run. I wonder if they voted for her.

Thank you President Bill Clinton for taking a personal interst in my stepmom’s fight with cancer and for meeting my dad in a little coffee shop in Queens that day to talk about it HIM AND with others AND OUR NATIONS HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

Though they have passed from the world from that which they fought, it was great to know as thier son that you cared while they were alive.

The very day she passed from breast cancer after a 10 year battle,my Dad found out he had colon cancer.

Just thought the only gift I could give you is to let you know you made a difference.

Best wishes and long life.

Thank you for posting that photo.

I came to the party late. It was not until the PA primary, when I saw her standing in the rain with a victorious arm stretched out and calling for her troupes to carry forward, I became a believer.

I read her statements on the floor of the Senate. I read her position papers. I determined that I was one of the millions that had underestimated her.

Then I looked at her again. Her smile had more meaning to me. I honestly fell in love.

I don’t know if we will ever recover from this mis-step of junking the opportunity of electing the first woman as president of our country.

But I do know that we may have missed the opportunity to elect a true great leader, period.

If she is not the nominee for the democrats. (I have not a voice, as I am an independent voter) then we MUST vote for HOPE in 2012 by electing McCain for one term. For the sake of country we must stay active in pressuring him to remain moderate.

Starting on Jan 21, 2009 we must put Hillary on the track to be #45 by keeping our admiration for her vocally demonstrated.

This is my start.

Happy birthday Bill. This vet remembers what you and Hillary did for her. You do care for the “least of these”. I’m living proof.

We love you Mr. President. Happy Birthday. Also we love you Hillary. Don’t listen to all the negative stuff the OBama camp and their cult followers put out. Obama has absolutley nothing nothing to offer this wonderful country. He has stirred up race relations and set this country back for years and years. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clinton for all your years of work for us. You are both my HERO’S.

Two super stars. Wow.

Carl Bernstein’s book on Hillary (which is more flattering than I expected) has this passage:

“They don’t do anything that isn’t strongly,” said Betsey Wright. “Whether it’s agree or disagree, it’s strongly. They are two of the most passionate people I ever met. They love passionately, they argue passionately, they parent passionately, they read passionately, they play passionately.”

William Jelani Cobb, Ph.D.

Ain’t it above your pay grade, Dr. Cobb, to want to engage in carnal knowledge with a supporter of the superior candidate.

My, Dr. Cobb must be a very angry boy these days. Maybe listening to Ludacris will calm this sweetie down enough to instil some logic to his free narrative of malice, ill will and sheer ignorance.

Perhaps Cobb’s periodically feeling down these days and starts launching these verbal sexual assaults on female HRO supporters to boost his declining testosterone….hope his hot flashes will cure him of his Obamyopia….

Dearly beloved,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ !

Now more than ever, Africa children need support and a strong show of solidarity. As these letter indicate, the drive for solidarity is more than appreciated; it is an inspiration to those in Africa trying to live a peaceful and normal life in trying times.

Most importantly, these letters serve as reminders that the notion of giving a life to a child is not just a dream, but a living, breathing reality.

Solidarity for Africa, Comfort for a Family
The Inner city department of Christ Embassy Church in Burkina Faso , wrote this letter with the motive of giving meaning to the life of Africa children, widow and the rest of the world. The time to put a stop and say no to poverty and suffering in the life of many is now. Psalm 50 vs. 5, vs. 14-15

We Are All One Family
God wants to see us as one family, living in Love, peace and unity . Because in oneness we can make this world a better place for living. Psalm 133 vs. 1

We will appreciate your kindness, sponsorship, gifts of any kind and whatever GOD has put in your mind is acceptable. Remember you are God’s hand of help to other people of the world.

Regards,

Evangelist Kassi
