I have thought from the start that the cages are to lock out (and away) the Hillary supporters from where the action is. Unless we have protestors inside the convention hall (delegates), demanding rights for all there including an open convention that is not just symbolic, nothing will happen except what Bo and the DNC want. It will then look like the happy, party unity they are trying to achieve, but nothing could be further from the truth. In one of the videos about the astonishing tactics used in the caucuses, this democratic party leader said, "The democratic party has been taken over by 'young white males'" - the MoveOn.Org types. We cannot allow this hi-tec demographic group who knows nothing about history or life to take over the reins of this country.
