Obama, the Human Rorschach Test

web2inkbarack-obama-2_edite.jpg

Back in the 1920s Dr. Hermann Rorschach tossed some ink on a piece of paper, quickly folded it in half, and opened it up to find a mirror-image splatter. He tried his “accidental inkblots” on some of his psychoanalysis patients, asking them “What do you see?”

So was born the famous Rorschach Inkblot Test, presenting people with an ambiguous stimulus that requires them to project their own strong feelings, values, wishes, needs, and aspirations, in an attempt to find meaning in something where none actually exists.

Barack Obama is a Human Rorschach Test. People see what they want to see.

He is, pure and simple, an ambiguous stimulus.

This is leadership???

But Obama himself said it best: “I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views.” –The Audacity of Hope

I TOTALLY rest my case.

Comment by Faustina | 2008-08-21 16:14:59

Charles Keating was a big, pompous, arrogant, extremely conservative boil on the Arizona landscape. Tony Rezko’s connection to Obama seems more like a sneaky, deadly cancer with malignant cells planted deeply not only into the Chicago/Illinois landscape, but apparently all the way to the Middle East and beyond.

If the two candidates want to exchange mudslinging on these guys, McCain will come out way ahead, I dare say.

Comment by Tuppence 411 | 2008-08-21 18:08:34

Comment by Hillary Harridan | 2008-08-21 20:08:40

McCain was acquitted by an ethics committee, and he gave back all the money. And Rezko’s money came from Saddam Hussein bagman Nahdmi Auchi. Obama’s house was paid for in Iraqi food for oil money. HAHAHAHA.

Comment by bmc | 2008-08-22 06:09:02

You’d better read up on the Keating 5 because you obviously don’t know anything about it.

In fact, 4 of the Keating 5 were Democrats; McCain, was the sole Republican. Two of the 5 were acquitted by the Ethics committee: John Glenn and John McCain.

Are you smearing John Glenn, too, now? You Obamabots will stop at nothing to defend your Messiah, if you’re going to smear John Glenn!

Congress, at the time of the Ethic committee investigation, was controlled by Democrats.

Comment by Elizabeth Reilly | 2008-08-21 16:18:36

Since when is it a bad thing to be rich? What is the crime? Being rich does not in any way mean that that person isn’t aware of the struggles of midle America. Several of those houses are investment properties (probably none of them were gotten thanks to an indicted felon, like Rezko)and frankly, from all I’ve read, the McCains do a powerful lot of good for the needy with their money. They even adopted a couple of kids from underprvileged countries and Cindy goes to Third World countries frequently on aid junkets (on her own plane, at her own expense). What exactly has Michelle Obama done? Nothing…..unless the people happen to be Black, and even then, I haven’t seen any record of anything she’s done.
Obama’s going to be thinking about US? He hasn’t thought about anyone but himself for most of his miserable life, so it’s not likely he’s going to change (unless there are cameras around).

Comment by KarenAnn | 2008-08-21 18:00:43

I think that Cindy McCain actually started and funded a charity that brings doctors to third world countries to help people that have little or no medical care. It was for purposes of that charity that she was in Rwanda recently. But she keeps a low profile with it. Michelle Obama complains a lot but does nada.

Comment by Cixelsyd | 2008-08-21 18:01:52

Cindy also used a charity she ran as a source of the narctics she was addicted to.

Comment by Diana | 2008-08-21 20:04:42

Like Obama? If you have “such” a problem with Cindy’s past drug use why on Earth are you voting for Obama? Cindy’s addiction was to pain killers after a back injury. Obama did drugs for pleasure, and they weren’t any prescription drugs that he paid for out of his own pocket for a charity HE owned and footed the bills for. You know Damn that Cindy for wanting to keep going after she injured herself to help “others” that depended on her for help…what a horrible rotten person that one is.

Comment by Hillary Harridan | 2008-08-21 20:13:51

Cindy McCain had a few slipped discs in her back and had surgery and a painful recovery. She became addicted to Percoset and Vicodin while her husband was going through Keating 5. After two years, her family discovered a problem and staged an intervention. She got clean and has never had a problem again. How compassionate the Obama supporters are. I bet they truly care about UHC and ending the war.

The Obama’s charitiable donations were pitiful; even despite upping the percentage in recent years (since running for Senate when his returns became public). Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-21 15:49:17

posting here so it’s as close to the original statement as possible.

1. The tape is supposed to come out after the DNC convention, not before. The GOP doesn’t want to run against a REAL candidate.

2. The mere fact that the concept of the whitey tape is so easy to believe negates the need to even see it. We all know Michelle is a radical racist so nobody was really surprised by news of the tape. Do we really need to see a tape to know what a radical racist she is or do we already know?

3. The constant controversy over the tape proves that obama’s camp is scared to death of it, thus proving that it most likely is out there and will come out after the convention just like Larry has said.

Comment by tzada | 2008-08-21 16:24:29

The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago, specifically the women’s panel (Update and Note: the location was originally stated as “Trinity” in everything we heard, but it’s become clear the tape could have only been filmed at the Sheraton during this conference.

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.

Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.

Michelle Obama spoke at the “Women’s Event”, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this.

Hi there, Kelvin. I am so sorrry. Really.
Case #08-CV-4083

The complaint is asking for declaratory (asking the court to declare Obama is not a US citizen, a “natural born” citizen and not eligible under the qualifications of the US Constitution to run for Office of President).

Also asking for injunctive relief and an emergency TRO. Further asking for EXPEDITED Discovery.

We are asking that Obama provide a “ceritified copy” of the oath he took to regain his citizenship. We are asking for court orders, ordering the state department, HI department of records and other governmental agencies to turn over any and everything on Obama, all certified.

No need for the “Whitey” tape. Obama is doing a fine job of shooting himself in the foot. Never interfere when your opponent is willing to commit political suicide: the live birth abortion audio and vote, the “above my pay-grade” comment, creative accounting procedures during the campaign and now this attack on the number of houses McCain owns, which is a Pandora’s box ready to bite Obama where the sun don’t shine: Rezko/Chicago connection in all its slumlord glory.

Amazing!

Comment by Kelvin | 2008-08-21 15:36:11

It is McCain’s associations though. Keating was one of his major campaign donors. He went on vacations with the man. And Keating bilked many Americans out of millions of dollars. McCain could care less about those Americans as long as Keating was writing those checks.

Comment by candymarl | 2008-08-21 15:50:53

Keating may be a liar and a thief but he didn’t try to blow up innocent people.

Even in the eyes of the law that’s a far worse crime. Unless you think blowing up people is okay.

Keating’s a done deal and not a big deal for the mass market. However, being tied to Chicago corruption and middle eastern arms dealers in the time of terrorist IS a big deal.

Barky’s got to own up to his choices sometime. Might as well be now and all the little Obots better get used to it.

Now, on to Pat. Thank you for putting everything in a wallet-sized format for me. Honestly, there are so many problems with Obie One, I can’t keep them all in my head. Edwards was set up by someone close to his mistress. However, the so-called evidence against Obama has been authenticated by who? Some blogger named TexasDarlin? Yeah, that will fly in court.

Comment by Dr. Kate | 2008-08-21 16:16:56

well when you file a federal lawsuit, names of researchers, data, etc, are all revealed. So not some “anonymous blog”.

It would have to be impeccable if it was filed in federal court, and of course, this will delay everything because it has to be responded to, by Obama and DNC lawyers.

Fine, if Barry Soetoro has all his documents in order, show them. The court won’t throw it out based on an assumption that Soetoro has provided everything he needs to–aka, answering all the charges.

One way or another, you are going to find out who your candidate is. Your presence here just confirms that you are scared sh****** and know this is serious.

Note that everything that was written at TD was referenced, and can be independently verified. If you think the republicans don’t have this, you are stupid. They wanted to WAIT to release this after the convention. Like it or not, DEMOCRATS got this information together for the benefit of our country and party, and will not let it slide just for THE ONE.

If your guy will finally produce his documentation that he is eligible, fine. We can dispence with that line of analysis.

I’m still not voting for him. And no one can run with an ineligible candidate. He will have to step down, now or later.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-21 16:41:36

They don’t seem to get the simple point that coming here, insulting us and lying to us is NOT going to encourage us to vote for him. There are at least 18 million voters (and growing) that aren’t going to vote for him FROM HIS OWN PARTY. Add that to those from the other party and it spells L A N D S L I D E for McCain. He’s helping destroy his own candidate by being a troll and snarky toward members of his own party.

Comment by Hillary Harridan | 2008-08-21 20:48:44

On 6/5/08, Barack Obama personally denied the existence of any Michelle Obama Rant Tape, as reported by Ben Smith Politico.com today. With today’s statements to the press, he has now gone on record saying neither he nor Michelle ever said anything like what’s been rumored to be on the tape. As the candidate selected by the DNC to lead the party into the General Election this fall, Obama must be taken on his word, because of the high level of trust and confidence placed in him by Howard Dean and the other leaders of the Democratic Party, who know best, and who would not have bet everything on Obama’s honesty and candor in all matters present and historic. Remember: Obama has promised to be a new kind of politician, focused on a new kind of politics, and this promise precludes him from ever lying to the media. If Obama says no tape exists, then it must in fact not exist, because he would not risk his credibility (and the outcome of this fall’s election) by saying there is absolutely no recordings of any kind of either himself or his wife saying anything at all like what’s been rumored at NoQuarterUSA.net. He also would not risk saying there is no possibility for this tape to exist, knowing Republicans could in fact have it, because that would make a devastatingly effective 527 ad in the fall: with a side-by-side playing of the tape, followed by his denial, capped off with more footage from the tape, and sprinkled with that creepy music and blunt narration all GOP ads have. Obama would never lie about something like this, because if caught in a lie of this magnitude by the GOP, he knows he would suffer an electoral defeat on a McGovern-level, taking the majority of down-ticket Democrats with him (because, frankly, if the GOP made “flip flop” such an effective campaign-killer against Kerry in 2004, imagine what they would do with something this explosive…the Democrats would lose Congress while the GOP keeps the White House, which is absolutely unthinkable in 2008). Obama and his campaign are much too smart to fall into that obvious a trap. (Obvious snark. We all know how stupid, reckless and corrupt the Democrats are now. Edwards wouldn’t be dumb enough to run for President, talking about his wife with cancer and dead son, knowing his mistress is carrying his bastard and the public discovering this would kill his political career?)

Lawyers don’t generally put their reputation on the line by filing frivolous lawsuits in Federal Court. This is a serious action, and if Team Obama thinks they can just brush this off their shoulders, they are sadly mistaken.

At a time when he should be gaining momentum, he’s losing traction in the polls, he’s on the defensive against Teflon John’s attack ads - and now this.

Obot pain is such a sad thing to see…

Comment by Cixelsyd | 2008-08-21 19:33:51

Are you kidding? Anyone can file a federal law suit. All you have to do is cite a federal statute an voila! Lawsuit! Being “federal level” doesn’t make it more importat or more serious. Crappy frivolous lawsuits get filed daily in federal court.

Comment by Ferdberfle | 2008-08-21 19:36:52

Buzz didn’t say “file”. There you go straying off topic. Anyone can file but the court decides if it will hear it-and rarely do frivolous ones get through. That’s what Buzz was saying.

Try again but this time, don’t use the spin cycle.

Comment by Buzz Latte | 2008-08-21 22:45:29

Thanks and actually all frivolous lawsuits are down by 80% overall.

Just ask:Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Assn.

215-546-6451 ext:106

Frivolous lawsuits is a myth perpetuated by big corporations, insurance companies and idiots like the Obots on this board.

Yup, even at the federal level the issue set forth in the lawsuit must be addressed by the court and therefore brings the matter before the courts and out into the public. The lawsuit has already served good purpose.

Cixelsyd, I have never argued for the veracity of Obama being born anywhere other than Hawaii, but I couldn’t help notice the date on the FACTCHECK. Today Aug. 21,2008, a week after his vacation in Hawaii. You might want to check the lawsuit filed in PA because it does not rest on the COLB. It includes a claim of birth in Kenya due to a visit to that country during the late stages of his mother’s pregnancy and registration of his birth shortly after her return, the possibility of another bc with Kenyan registration and his registration for school in Indonesia as Barry Soetoro and Indonesian citizenship. At this point, the decision rests with the Federal Court to decide if the suit has merit.

There is an old country song that goes something like: “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”. Everytime I see this guy flitting about here and there; talk, talk, talking, and yet, saying absolutely nothing, I am reminded of this. I almost feel sorry for the guy because he is such a pandering fool. He seems to be an egomaniac, but since he doesn’t have anything you can identify him solidly as part of, I believe he just has low self esteem, constantly seeking to be a part of anything successful and willing to turn and flee from it just as quickly if the approval of said topic goes down. He truly is not a leader, he is a follower. I may not agree with all of McCain’s viewpoints, but I get a good sense about him as a man. I believe he knows who he is, what he stands for and if you don’t like it, that’s okay, he’s still going to be the same tomorrow and next week.

He’d say you’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
You’ve got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what’s right and uphold your family name
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything

Now we might have been better off or owned a bigger house
If Daddy had done more givin’ in or a little more backing down
But we always had plenty just living his advice
Whatever you do today you’ll have to sleep with tonight

He’d say you’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
You’ve got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what’s right and uphold your family name
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything

Now I know that things are different than they were in Daddy’s days
But I still believe what makes a man really hasn’t changed

You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
You’ve got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what’s right and uphold your family name
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything

You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.

But then, obama/soetoro/dunham has no idea what his family name is or what it stands for so it doesn’t bother him to drag it through the mud and lies. McCain knows his and has a legacy to carry one, Clinton also knows hers and wouldn’t shame it like obi does.
I guess when you change names as often as you change socks, things like that don’t matter to you as much and if his manhood is damaged under one of his names, he can just use the other one.

Hey hey hey
What did I tell you before when I was up
Anxiety was bringing me down
I’m tired of listening to you talking in rhymes
Twisting round to make me think you’re straight down the line
All you do to me is talk talk
Talk
talk talk talk
All you do to me is talk talk
Talk talk talk talk
All you do to me is talk talk
If every sign that I see is complete
Then I’m a fool in your game
And all you want to do is tell me your lies
Won’t show the other side you’re just wasting my time
All you do to me is talk talk
Talk talk talk talk
All you do to me is talk talk
[ Talk Talk Talk talk talk talk
All you do to me is talk talk
When every choice that I make is yours
Keep telling me what’s right and what’s wrong
Don’t you ever stop to think about me
I’m not that blind to see that you’ve been cheating on me
And here you laugh at me when I’m up
I see you when you’re crying for me when I’m down
I see you when you’re laughing at me when I’m up
I see you when you’re crying for me
All you do
to me is talk talk
Talk talk talk talk
All you do to me is talk talk
Talk talk talk talk
All you do to me is talk talk
Talk Talk (Talk Talk)

Oh, somebody said that already!

Excellent cartoon Pat. It’s McCain’s new ad.

Just roll the film with your ink blot and your
list.

“We’re the one’s we’ve been waiting for”,
sounds like someone from outerspace coming down
and all the humans identify with the outerspace person.

Ask Tom Hayden, he saw a great progressive candidate in Ob. Then FISA (I’ll filibuster it, the One said, then Ob VOTED FOR IT) and the other many pull-backs to follow), so Tom now tells us to elect the One and we can picket the White House when we don’t like what the One is going to do.

When you unfolded Hillary as the ink blot, you got what everyone saw, a woman, a leader, a very smart issues oriented person who has worked all her life to better our lives, but this is not the image that inspired the idealists. They bought the “Hope” and “Change” Ob has promised (what does he mean? It’s up to you to answer). These two images were stolen from Bill Clinton’s first run for the White House “the man from Hope”.

Ob better pick Hillary as VP to unite the 35 Million democratic voters, Ob’s only chance in November.

Wow, great cartoon and does it capture to Obama experience for me! It helps me to understand why some people no matter what insist that in Obama they are seeing what I can not see no matter how hard I try.

I do not need hope or a savior because I have faith and believe in this country and its people to solve problems and find solutions. When I vote for someone I want to know that because of their experience and history the person is real can do the job they are elected to do, not a trainee with no experience, and that on the majority of the major issues we agree.

So getting back to the cartoon, I see a pretty butterfly with some sharp and some undefined edges. A butterfly that is unknown and no one knows for sure anything about it. Oh that is Obama. Please let me know what you see?

Great cartoon and commentary. Is this man a blank slate, an empty box wrapped in fancy paper and ribbons, or what? You HOPE there is something inside, but once the wrappers come off you are left with a disappointing emptiness. What a list of non-accomplishments! The rhetorical wrappings that have enchanted the young and innocent, are being pealed off leaving the poor bamboozled hopeful Obamabots in disillusionment and dismay. Too bad the Demo insiders have their blinders on. Their day of awakening is fast approaching. The Demo voters’ choice is becoming McCain or No Vote at all. Hey, is Nader still running? Or who is that guy that Corsi plan to vote for?

I understand. CNN has been pro-Obama since the primaries. They show, with rare exception, documentaries and news stories that highlight Obama’s victim hood, purity, and the ’suffering’ of his followers.

I would say it’s like promoting Jesus. But that wouldn’t be true. Jesus had far more class and warned us to not put our faith in ‘princes’.

Don’t give in now, you are so close to being free of it’s intoxicating effect.

Don’t do this to yourself. It’s like suicide.
Just put the cup down slowly, it isn’t worth it man…

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-21 17:52:48

I don’t know, Rendell is Hillary’s most devoted supporter. I don’t think he would stand up for Obama to prevent this when it would mean making Hillary the nominee.
I also think that if Hillary wins the nomination, Rendell will be her VP. There is no doubt in my mind he would be her first choice, nobody has shown her the loyalty and the support that he has shown to her and he could deliver PA to her on a silver platter. He is very, very well liked in PA by both parties.
If this is condoned by Hillary, it WILL be pushed through because Rendell will ensure that it is.
Clinton/Rendell could easily win the General Election and is the best ticket to possibly clean up the mess left behind by bush and company.
PA is the best choice of states to make the attempt in due to the dynamics at play there (here).
Living less than an hour from Philly, devoted to both Rendell and Hillary and wanting to see obambi out of the race, I would happily do whatever is asked of me (legally) to help this happen.

Obama goes on the attack now. His attacks are very petty and grade school like. Why would he even bring up John Mccain homes when he knows they want a chance to attack him on Rezko. HIs campaign is looking very desparate.

Lets face it, John Mccain pretended not to know how many houses he has as bait for Obama. Mccain open the door and immature Obama ran right through it. This was the GOP set up trap for Obama. Rezko is now in play and Obama Camp can’t call them racist.

I am sure those homes are in Cindy name. Many times, I’ve said elitism is not just about how much money you have. It can also be about those people who went to ivy league universities and believes they are better than everybody else. Obama is getting mad because his poll numbers are dropping.

Elitist Obama is ashamed to admit he had a brother living in Kenya on $1 a day. How about helping out your borther Obama. You made $4 million from book sales last year. Now Hannity is out there having a telethon for Obama brother.

YOu see someone filled Obama’s head that John Mccain was last in his Naval Academy classes. SO Ivy League Obama thinks it’s beneath him to be losing to a Naval below avaerage pilot. Obama thinks he is too educated to lose to John Mccain and that’s my friends is the definition of elitist. lol

That’s where Obama elitism is seen. He looks aloof and arrogant many times on the campaign trail. He felt he did not need to study the questions Rick Warren gave both candidates before hand. Afterall, he was going up against a below average John Mccain. Well I hope he got the message.

John Mccain adopts babies. John Mccain don’t let babies die in the utility room gulping for AIR because he wanted to futher his pro choice credits..
Who would release such a huge even on the weekend. Unless he is picking HRC.

HRC is the only one who can save this ticket right now!!!!!

Comment by Tricia Spiegel | 2008-08-21 17:20:42

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-21 18:05:08

Which of course means, that McCain does not have seven homes. His WIFE has 7 homes and will retain what was hers before marriage if they divorce. The worst thing Obama can rightfully attack McCain on is that he married a rich woman and obama married a bitch woman. Sounds more like jealousy than a political attack.

Comment by katmandu | 2008-08-21 16:17:26

I am saying WTF to today’s little flurry about McCain not knowing how many houses he has. Remember 2004? By comparison, Teresa Heinz was much wealthier than Mrs. McCain.

from Wikipedia:

To date, Teresa Heinz has declined to disclose her personal tax returns, citing family trusts and privacy. She is estimated to be worth between $750 million and $1.2 billion. According to her most recently released income tax of 2003, Kerry and Heinz paid an effective federal income tax rate of 12%.

Heinz/Kerry owned lots of houses, too.

Also remember that America loves people who have made it. JFK and Jackie were our rich king and queen. Everyone knew the Kennedys were rolling in money. Same for the Bushes.

And this is from the NYT obituary of FDR:

http://www.nytimes.com/learning/general/onthisday/bday/0130.html

The early life of Franklin Delano Roosevelt was typical of a member of a family of wealth and assured social position–an aristocratic family, as aristocracy is measured on this side of the Atlantic. His birthplace was a stately mansion on the Roosevelt estate, overlooking the Hudson River and set in the midst of broad acres near Hyde Park. The property had been in the possession of his family for a hundred years.

Equating rich and poor with good and evil doesn’t work. Bono. Rich. Good guy. Warren Buffet, giving all his money away to Gates’ foundation; Gates is trying to eradicate malaria, a huge scourge in Africa. I could go on and on about great people, real philanthropists, who have made the world a much better place.

So living in a shack makes one great or good? How about Ted Kaczynski?

This kind of attack is class warfare, and is exactly the kind of thing Obama said he was against at the beginning of the campaign.

But then he said lots of things at the beginning of his campaign.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-21 18:11:01

McCain didn’t step in it kelvin. McCain opened the door up for obama to make a childish attack and set himself up for the rezko deal. McCain is no fool, but obama has shown time and again that he’ll fall for whatever snare is laid down for him. He’s not experienced in intellectual political campaigns. He only knows dirty, strongarm chicago politics, nothing else and he’s being schooled right now by McCain. He’ll continue to be schooled until he loses or is thrown out because he is, in his own words, playig “above his pay grad”.
Even those enormous ears can’t keep him afloat in the ocean of his own lies that he’s drowning in at this point.

Wolf talks about Ayers background, over throwing Gov, bombing etc.

Like I said, there is no there there. UIC is working on getting those documents released. Obama agrees that they should be released as well. I wish you PUMAs would work on getting the rest of McCain’s military records released as well. I’ve heard that there is some pretty compelling information in there also.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-21 17:14:07

Kelvin…i feel bad for you man. Its got to suck to keep cheering for the guy you know in your heart is a liar and a fraud. Hang in there man. Eventually the dirt will hit critical mass and you can claim along with all the other sycophants and propoganda pushers that you had no idea. Just hang in there.

Comment by Kelvin hearts PUMAs | 2008-08-21 19:06:56

Comment by Katmoon | 2008-08-21 19:13:06

I don’t think McCain is a fraud. I think you should vote for whom you want, as should everybody.

Comment by Duras | 2008-08-21 18:16:37

Oh, they’ll be released all right. But they’ll be released only after Mayor Daley has had his paid minions go through them page by page and thoroughly sanitize them by removing any incriminating documents linking Obama to Ayers in any substantive way.

The stench of a cover-up is overpowering here.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-21 18:18:26

Kelvin sweetie, if you’re concerned with McCain’s military records, then YOU work on getting them released. WE are concerned with obama’s records and are working on those because we don’t want obama in the whitehouse. Many of us are voting AGAINST obama, giving our vote to McCain because McCain in the most likely to defeat him.
We are not John McCain fans, although I do have respect for the man. If Mickey Mouse were running against Obama, I would give giving my vote to Mickey Mouse in order to DEFEAT OBAMA.
You don’t seem to understand the concept that we are voting AGAINST obama, not FOR someone else.
You want McCain investigated, then go investigate him.

Comment by Kelvin hearts PUMAs | 2008-08-21 19:09:29

I guess since McCain didn’t defeat Hillary like Obama did, he’s beneath your notice huh? Don’t hate the player, Chiten, Hate the game.

Comment by Ferdberfle | 2008-08-21 20:19:08

The only ones mentioning hate are you and your fellow traveler bots. The more you say it, the less likely you are to get any converts to your false Messiah. And if you’re not after converts when coming here, then why are you here? There are only three possibilities: 1) you haven’t learned how to influence people, 2) you don’t care about converting anyone because you’re only here to gt negative attention, or 3) you are an obamabot who is paid to come here.

Yep–I graduated from Oxy also (different year). He attended for 2 years and transferred to Columbia. Then to Chicago for reasons unknown (never lived there before, no family there) to take a low paying job as a “community organizer” (whatever that is–but he touts it as his “experience”) and then to law school. Then back to Chicago to start being part of the “Chicago Way.” Odd path.

What do you think are the dates of the videos taken by Chnl. 5 and the investigation by the Chic. Sun Times?

(The ones on the GOP website) Except for the Hillary clip, they would be recent, I would expect.

Another PUMA fantasy fall apart. How many more mulligans do you guys get?

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html

In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document’s authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is “fake.”

We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as “supporting documents” to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-21 18:30:35

we’re supposed to believe a website with no credentials over in-depth analysis by forensic document specialists? Yeah, right.
I noticed their photos were bottom centered on the page, that’s not very typical of official documents. Just like it’s easy to make forgeries on photoshop, it’s easy to make hard copy photos too.
I want to see the birth certificate from the hospital where he was born, footprints and all. Anything less cannot be trusted because this candidate cannot be trusted.

News Flash - FactCheck owned by Annenberg. Also, don’t think anyone was really arguing the point that he was born in the US. The point is his father was not a citizen and his mother did not meet the criteria (having lived in the US for the last 10 years, with 5 of those being after the age of 18), to have her child be an automatic citizen according to the law in place at the time.

Comment by MBC | 2008-08-21 20:41:20

A Rorschach inblot is a PERFECT analogy for the Obama campaign. When he first showed up, he was this good-looking young “mainstream black” American who gave one hell of a speech, playing on a vague yearning for “change”. Since he was such an empty canvas, people could project whatever image they wished to project on to him.

But as I always said would happen, that illusion would be exposed for the lie that it is once the novelty wore off and people started taking a careful, critical look at just who Barack Obama really is and what he represents. Although the true Kool-Aid drinkers are beyond help, a majority of Americans are stating to wake up now and see that John McCain is, by far, the best choice in this election.

Comment by Kelvin hearts PUMAs | 2008-08-21 18:57:42

Stop with the ageist card Kelvin. It doesn’t go over well with 50yr+ women and according to the WSJ poll, he can’t win without us and he has done nothing and said nothing to make me change my mind about him. Take a good look at him and ask yourself why you are/have supported him instead of Hillary. As you said. There is no there, there.

Comment by Buzz Latte | 2008-08-21 22:54:02

Well, Mr. Phillip Berg happens to have been in the PA Attorney General Office and a big kahuna in the PA Democratic Party. It’s doubtful Mr. Berg was being frivolous when he filed today.

It’s a democrat questioning the citizenship of the DNC presumed nominee.

That makes it a little more difficult to dismiss as bogus, now doesn’t it Kelvin?

By abstaining from voting “yes” or “no” 130 times in IL State Senate (i.e. voting “present” far more often than any other Senator there ), even while vital issues had been at stake, Obama deliberately cultivated his “Rorschach Test” status, presumably in order to prevent displeasing anyone.

Comment by Buzz Latte | 2008-08-21 22:50:41

In many cases the present vote is noted as the same as a no vote.

So the big ZERO is more negative than we thought.

Comment by Sam Copeland | 2008-08-21 19:09:37

Obama is a consumer product designed to make you feel good about the purchase (vote). Nevermind if the product will work as advertised once you get it home.

As a Rorschach, Obama let’s everyone imagine him to be the product they want him to be.

Customer satisfaction not guarenteed.

Comment by Pat Racimora | 2008-08-22 12:01:18

Dude–try again. There is a recently 6 page case summary (sorry that doesn’t count as legal scholorship).

As president of the Harvard Law Review and a law professor in Chicago, Senator Barack Obama refined his legal thinking, but left a scant paper trail. His name doesn’t appear on any legal scholarship.
But an unsigned — and previously unattributed — 1990 article unearthed by Politico offers a glimpse at Obama’s views on abortion policy and the law during his student days, and provides a rare addition to his body of work.

Here it is (and even Obama never mentions it, probably because it shows how little serious scholarly work he did)

Here from http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.cfm?uuid=E99B0FC2-18FE-70B2-A8749734EF6D25D9
The six-page summary, tucked into the third volume of the year’s Harvard Law Review, considers the charged, if peripheral, question of whether fetuses should be able to file lawsuits against their mothers. Obama’s answer, like most courts’: No. He wrote approvingly of an Illinois Supreme Court ruling that the unborn cannot sue their mothers for negligence, and he suggested that allowing fetuses to sue would violate the mother’s rights and could, perversely, cause her to take more risks with her pregnancy.
