TALES FROM THE FRONT

793px-2008_wash_state_democratic_caucus_17c.jpg

Approximately a year ago thousands of committed volunteers attended “Camp Obama,” a four-day indoctrination program, geared at teaching pre-screened Obama volunteers grass roots organizational strategies.

The training, which specifically focused on the caucus states, taught volunteers to be “ruthless,” “take risks,” and win at all costs. Obama’s campaign and Camp Obama’s strategy which focused on the vulnerable caucuses and the early primaries worked.

Obama only lost 1 out of 14 caucuses, a staggering achievement, especially when he lost 21 out of 38 primaries and scored a statistical tie in popular vote.   How did he accomplish such an astonishing string of victories that would eventually define the Democratic Primary?

At www.caucusanalysis.org, a new website devoted exclusively to the 2008 Democratic caucuses, you can read Tales from the Front, stories told to sites founder, Dr. Lynette Long, by participants in all 14 caucus states.  Here are excerpts from  the website. For complete statements and a mathematical analysis of each state, go to www.caucusanalysis.org.

FROM IOWA

I live in Davenport, Iowa - Precinct 23.  I arrived at our precinct caucus at 6:30.  At 6:50 pm, over 75 people of African American descent came walking in, past the tables and sat in the Obama section.  I knew one of them from my canvassing.  I knew another one who did not live in this precinct!  And aside from the 4 or 5 families that live on Hillandale Road, there are no other black people in this unusually white precinct and one of those black couples were in my Hillary section.  The results were Obama 3, Clinton, 2, Edwards 1!  It was impossible for me to argue since the precinct chair was an Obama supporter from another precinct.  A very large bus was seen in the parking lot afterwards carrying these folks back.

FROM IOWA

You probably have heard about the busloads coming in from over the IL border, but you may not have known about the busloads coming in from the NE border. North Omaha and Omaha itself are two of the three places in NE — Lincoln being the third — where there’s over 5% African-American population. Obama’s campaign offered people things like I-pods and free stuff– t-shirts, clothes, shoes, and at least two free meals on the Nebraska side.

FROM KANSAS

There were a lot of young people there and a lot of black people.  We do not have that many blacks in this county.  El Dorado is a small town of about 12,000 and it is the largest town in the county.  There are probably only a handful of blacks that live in El Dorado.  I work with the school district and travel to the high school, middle school and elementary schools and believe me, there are very, very, few  black students.

FROM MINNESOTA

There was NO voter registration for the MN caucus… no identification was checked so Obots were going from room to room voting over and over again giggling all the while doing it.

FROM NEVADA

Throughout this mess of a process, hostility built to a degree I found truly alarming.  Some overenthusiastic BHO supporters formed a gauntlet in the hallway outside the registration area, on the way to the ballroom, within the zone in which campaigning was prohibited.  Any HRC supporter was subject to verbal abuse, ridicule and, eventually, physical assault.

FROM NEBRASKA

Nebraska was totally chaotic and each precinct location had a different way to do the caucus. In Nebraska, 18 precincts where crammed into one high school in Sarpy county. When I got there, it felt like I stepped into a Third World voting situation. They were trying to determine whether people could actually participate in the caucuses or not, and then it seemed like they just gave up on that and just let anyone participate. There was a gym at the high school where about 5 precincts met. A person was supposed to fill out their preference on a slip of paper and then turn it in. They tried to run it like a primary instead of a true caucus, just take out any semblance of order and guards against voter disenfranchisement that a normal primary would have. I found a pile of these preferences slips just sitting on a table where anyone could pick them up and fill them out.

FROM TEXAS

I was at the Texas Caucus and the Obama supporter’s took the Packets as early as 6:30 AM which they were told not to do, They never let go and then when time came to vote they took over the precinct by some of them pushing the people that were supposed to run it across the room to chairs. They called in incorrect totals for Obama instead of correct ones. He actually had 4 delegates and they called in 19 delegates.

When my 88 year old Mother showed up, who can hardly walk on her walker, and they took her walker away from her when she said she was there to vote for Hillary. They said you are in the wrong place old woman; this is an Obama precinct, and you need to go across town. When I saw what was happening I called the police.  Blog post no quarter evelyn

FROM TEXAS

As an eye witness at the Precinct and Senate District Conventions, this is how Obama won many caucuses. First of all, vast numbers of Obama supporters were bused in to the conventions. They were loud and intimidating. Texas Democratic rules state that each person who participates in the Precinct Convention should have voted in this precinct and sign-in personally on a formal sign-in sheet. So many Obama people showed up, that there were not enough sign-in sheets available, so when the conventions ended, there were many sign-in sheets for Obama filled out in the same handwriting, not signed-in as specified. As Hillary supporters, we obtained copies of these sign-in sheets from all over south Texas, Harris County in particular. We laboriously compared the names on the sheets to see if the person who attended the precinct convention had voted in the primary election. Many listed Obama people had not. We then cross-checked the names of the Obama people to see if they lived in the correct precinct. Many times the Obama people did not come to the correct precinct and often appeared on sign-in sheets, as being present in several precinct conventions at the same time (a violation of the space-time continuum).

FROM THE TEXAS CONVENTION

I walked into the Nueses,Texas County Convention only to discover that I was already there as an Obama delegate.

FROM THE TEXAS CONVENTION

They shoved Obama signs in Clinton delegates’ faces, three inches from the nose, called them racists, and told my friend that she had to move from her third-row seat in one meeting and go sit in the back.  She also said that the proceedings were heavily laced with black power speeches by preachers as well as public officials.

FROM WASHINGTON STATE

What I saw was at least 3 trained group agitators — Since my MA is in group dynamics and group facilitation I recognized when someone is using techniques that I have been trained in. If such individuals were planted in ALL precincts, along with bringing in ringers — then ALL caucus results are bogus. For this sort of intensive origination to take place in a rural area — this means that a vast amount of money was spent to manipulate the results of the caucus. The Obama supporters kept changing the number of delegates — subtracting Clinton delegates and increasing Obama delegates, each time they claimed someone had changed and they had to do "complicated" math and that’s why Clinton kept losing delegates. There were NO Clinton supporters checking the Obama "math".

If this is the type of new party obama was talking about i’m outta there.

Thanks so much, Lynette, for your hard work on this issue and the site. This is exactly what we need to do, expose the fraud, so that it doesn’t happen again.

Many Hillary supporters from the caucuses will never support Barry, as Phishmelt correctly points out.

Team McCain has released its second video ad of the day, ‘Housing Problem,’ discussing Rezko and Barry’s Rezko Mansion:

Pass it on, favorite it and spread the word!

I’m glad McCain is not shying away from these issues. If the MSM won’t do their job, let the Republicans expose the truth. Someone has to.

In the latest NBC/WSJ poll, Hillary would have a 6 point lead over McCain. Obama has a three point lead.

Tell that to the delegates.

FASCIST IS AS FASCIST DOES….Thankyou Dr. Long. I’m from Texas and saw the Texas Hornswaggle myself. Teenagers who were not eligible to vote showed up at the caucuses and caucused. One of them was proudly bragging to her pal, my daughter who had just turned 18 and was excited about voting and caucusing for Hillary. My daughter was astonished and said to her friend in front of the group that She should be ASHAMED of herself and that she had committed VOTER FRAUD akin to what happens in 3rd world countries. This girl was part of a group of about 8 teenagers in an Urban precinct. This illegal caucusing happened all over the state and Rove’s christian camper bubbas enabled it….WHY ?
Because Hillary Clinton is the first candidate in a long time who really could’ve brought the Republic back into the Tent.

*** EXPOSE THE FRAUD. OBAMA IS A FASCIST AND UNFIT FOR POTUS ***

ahem…

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html

In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document’s authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is “fake.”

We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as “supporting documents” to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

Comment by catherine | 2008-08-21 19:54:33

How interesting that this appears right after Obama’s return from Hawaii…oh and is’nt Factcheck.org owned by Annenberg?

Hmm, sounds like a conflict of interest. The American people have a right to demand that the original bc be provided to federal electoral authorities as proof and NOT to an organization that
is involved in a current controversy re some sealed documents detailing its involvement with Obama, Ayers and ACORN.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-08-22 06:20:53

Ehemm….Cixelsyd….This aint’ just about the COLB which aint’ the same thing as a Birth Certificate….
Check out the Questions….And currently in America It is still LEGAL to ask Questions.

Comment by Kelvin hearts PUMAs | 2008-08-21 19:27:08

Per Factcheck.org. Obama keeps a certified copy of his birth certificate at his campaign HQ. They have photos of the certified document as well. I guess this kills that eligibility lawsuit, huh?

DaliyKos is running it too:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/21/181318/079/418/572147

Comment by Katmoon | 2008-08-21 19:31:50

I don’t know, I would think the courts like to have a hard copy, but that’s just my opinion. If the law suit goes thru, all he has to do is bring it in/ or have another certified one sent. Not sure what the court would decide.

Comment by Katmoon | 2008-08-21 19:34:16

Should have added, not sure if the state requires a copy in the courtroom is what I am saying, if the case is heard. Don’t know if a court considers FactCheck an expert for this, or if the attorneys would have a problem with it.

Comment by Cixelsyd | 2008-08-21 19:38:46

This might be a good time to discuss “burden of proof.” As in, it is the burden of the party filing the lawsuit to produce competent evidence to prove their case. Accusations aren’t enough.

Comment by Katmoon | 2008-08-21 19:45:09

Cixel,

You could be right, I don’t know exactly what type of case it is that is being filed, so there in lies who has the burden, like you said.

Comment by Cixelsyd | 2008-08-21 19:50:28

The party seeking the injunction ALWAYS hs the burden. If all they have is accusations and speculation, the injunction will be denied.

its another fake certificate, and they will have to produce it again at trial. ha ha

Comment by simanov | 2008-08-21 20:12:44

Bullshit, the shadow on the certificate is conveniently placed to hide the fact that the embossed seal is not there in the wide shot. The close up of the seal was taken from another COLB.

Comment by simanov | 2008-08-21 20:33:35

And a flash wasn’t used to not dig into the shadow.

Comment by Zee | 2008-08-22 01:12:30

Oh, yeah, hold the BC at an angle so nothing can be seen on it, then have little closeups.

Why not just one GOOD shot of the certificate?

Nice try!

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-08-22 06:23:58

Kevin, This is about Discovery Motions. In the filing of the law suit Obama will be required to produce documents for discovery and these are extensive and routine. Obama will have to convince a judge why He shouldn’t have to produce these in a hearing. This will be interesting.

Somehow I doubt that. Why should he produce anything? To satisfy you PUMAs. He’s a federal employee. He just didn’t walk off of the street and ran for president. All his identification and citizenship information is on file and has been documented. The first thing you do as a presidential candidate is verify your citizenship to determine eligibility. Per Article 2 of US Constitution eligibility must be proven prior to him running.
http://www.2008electionprocon.org/pdf/USConstitution_Article2.pdf
http://www.2008electionprocon.org/howtopresident.htm#constitution
Also, Obama practiced constitutional law. He himself would know that he would not get away with cheating the system. This case will be thrown out and the lawyer presenting the case should be disbarred.

I remember Hillary dropping hints about this toward the end of the primaries. Remember the times she’d mention that Obama tended to win caucuses and she won primaries? I didn’t take them as a hints at the time, but in retrospect that’s what they were.

Off topic, but has anyone been watching CNN? It’s like they snapped out of a deep sleep. Suddenly, they’re airing Obama’s laundry including; Annenberg, Obama’s real estate deal, Rezko, and suggesting that Obama NEEDS Hillary now. It’s so surreal. Good, but surreal.

Panic and desperation are the only explanation, serves them right. I think one of the beneficiaries of this campaign is Fox news. Nice way CNN worked to place the inexperienced Obama on top of the ticket. Now they see he has a snow ball in-his-place-in hell chance of winning the general so they are going to manipulate to pressure for Hillary to take second place…I don’t think so.

I hope this list of case histories gets compiled and sent to some investigative government against voter fraud office. Perhaps also to some citizen rights group, to a publisher, as a chain email so the world sees what happened in the US, etc.

I saw Hardball tonight and the panelists were saying that the only way Obama can bring in Hillary supporters is for Hillary to go out and really stump for him. I was so pissed. Why does Hillary always have to carry the ball for this freak? She’s done enough!

Obama doesn’t know what it is like to run a campaign where there is opposition. He is used to his Chicago tactics taking care of his opponent. This is new ground for him so he has to lie, cheat and steal. Hence the caucaus fraud. I know he has peeps in the Diebold organization too. God only knows what November is going to look like.

They still put a positive spin on things for Obiedumba. Then the pundits defend him. My hope is that people’s ears perk up and then they hit the internet for more info!

When Rezko was mentioned during a debate by Hillary, I had no idea what that was about. I started reading the trial in the Chicago papers and it just didn;t smell right and made Obielyin look like a liar and player. It just went downhill by then. With Osohighonmyselfa that is how it goes, one thing leads to another, to another, to another and so on. Then you know you will never vote for him.

Definitely, I do believe Hillary was giving hints throughout the primary and Bill most definitely did in that interview he did recently.

As for CNN changing their coverage a bit, it is building and I predict they will slaughter Ostupidfraud as soon as the convention is finished next week!

I am sure a lot of the veiwing public said rezko huh? and promptly forgot it.

The MSM has failed to do its job of adequatley covering this and oh so many other lovely stories about the Fauxbama.

Hey! Aren’t you the one who did the definitive work on the primary/caucus injustices?? If so, your work is FANTASTIC (again, if not disturbing).

Wow - two great researchers in one place!! Amazing!

Comment by Peniel | 2008-08-21 19:23:46

Yes. Dr. Long has included my final report under “Caucus Statistics”. It is chock-full of new info throughout.

And I’ll tell you, the statistics on primary vs caucus - plus now the documented stories of irregularities and outright fraud have GOT to get the eye of the superdelegates.

If they turn a blind eye to so much info … then hopefully the Democratic base will hold each of them responsible - by remembering when that superdelegate comes up for election (if applicable).

One thing for sure, Howard Dean has got to go!!! What a disservice he has done to our Party and to Hillary.

btw Reverend Amy, you’re actually irreverent in a wonderful way!

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-08-21 19:35:44

Why, thank ya!! That is a great compliment coming from you!

The final report you did is really amazing. I encourage everyone to go take a look at it.

I sure do hope this info gets to the appropriate people. It has been incredibly frustrating that there is so much documentation to back up the ways by which Obama got where he is. The DNC has definitely turned a blind eye and deaf ear to the evidence. It just boggles the mind…

Dr. Long, this is just incredibly disturbing. That the will of the people has been so subverted during this Primary season is just plain shocking. I think we all felt caucuses were not great, but what you have reported (great website, too, btw) is criminal, is it not? And if it IS, how does this info get out to get proceedings started? At the very LEAST, this info needs to be in every newpaper across the land…

Excellent work…

I attended 4 caucuses in Colorado and each one got worse and worse in terms of organization. Although I didn’t experience anything other than verbal intimidation and rudeness, there were others who had stories to tell. I’m forever disgusted and if anyone had told me this would happen amongst Democrats, I would have said they were crazy. Live and learn as they say. Barry will never get my vote because I have a thing against cheaters.

Who was doing the verbal intimidation - were they young people? And were they insulting Hillary? Were they African American?

The attack by the O team just lets McCain counter with Rezko ads, like he should have been doing anyway.

The other side will soon learn that when Republicans get attacked, they generally don’t go off wind surfing.

Rookie mistake, how could he even mention a house. Since a lot of republican and indy’s did not pay attention to the primary races and knew nothing about Dirty Tony, he handed him that opening on a siver platter.
Also according to Politico, McCain does not own the homes, his wife does. McCain should have known that and did a Kerry. Like Kerry, he and his wife did not file jointly and he should have said, I don’t own homes, my rich wife does.

Comment by RepublicanChick | 2008-08-21 22:23:46

After the Keating 5 scandal, the McCains had to separate the holdings because of Cindy McCain’s business interests.

Comment by Just Wondering | 2008-08-21 22:54:22

Did that include Cindy and her father’s $359,100 investment in Keating’s shopping center project?

And what about Keating & Associates’ “perfectly legal” $112,000 contribution to John’s campaign fund? I suppose that had already been spent getting John reelected. Just water under the bridge, or over the dam, or whatever…

Comment by RepublicanChick | 2008-08-21 23:23:14

In the end, McCain was cleared by the Senate Ethics Committee of acting improperly or violating any law or Senate rule, but was mildly rebuked for exercising “poor judgment”.

It was obviously poor decision on his part, but I think Obama runs the risk of having his own “issues” rising up. If you are involved with shady people, it will eventually bite you in the butt.

We await to see the same thing regarding Senator Obama’s dealings with Tony Rezko, CAC, Acorn, and whatever else is waiting to surface.

As for your conclusion below that Obama doesn’t have it in his DNA to go negative, I think you’re obviously a kool aid drinker.

Obama and his minions treatment of Hillary during the primaries was horrific. He should be grateful she’s even speaking to him at this point. He most certainly doesn’t deserve any generosity.

Comment by Just Wondering | 2008-08-21 23:02:41

Alas, the consensus is that Obama will have a harder time attacking John, because “personal attacks just aren’t in Barack Obama’s DNA”. I’m afraid that really does put Obama at a decided disadvantage when it comes to mud-and-shit-slinging.

Since the republicans are obviously going to go that route pedal-to-the-metal, he’ll probably need to allow that sort of war to be waged through surrogates.

A hard-hitting VP would be very helpful.

Of course, the other killer combo would be Obama and Clinton together on the ticket. Hillary is tough. And it wouldn’t play very well if the McCain campaign was forced to turn their smear machine on Hillary.

I won’t be caught totally unawares if that turned out to the the surprise democratic strategy to deal with all the lies.

Note that the only caucus state that Hillary won was Nevada, and this was because she was able to mobilize the service union in time to take a caucus win. However despite her caucus win, she did not claim delegate lead in that state. So in essense, she ‘lost’ the only caucus state she won.

Obama is NOT democratically elected. Obama, his supporters and DNC leaders, gamed the primary to select him as the nominee.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-08-21 19:46:30

Con men manipulate on an emotional level.

So if you see people responding emotionally — then this is a good indication that “techniques” are being used.

The idea is to get a “group” to act as a mob — to respond on a primitive stimulus.

People can often be made to do things as a group that as lone rational adults they would never do.

My guess is that the trained Obama authoritarians will be training how to manipulate the primitive emotions — but the individuals will not be seen as part of the Obama group.

The manipulators will be among the delegates (could be delegates for Hillary — but are really undercover Obamabots) — and the will be working from within. But they will be getting their orders from the puppet masters.

———–

The real Hillary delegates seem to be working from logical part of their brain — Obamabots are working from a primitive (illogical) part of their brain.

WE have several people with Psychology degrees etc.

Brainstorming on how to identify the undercover Obama players at the convention might be helpful for people attending.

What The Heck Is The Alinsky Method? Being Used To Destroy Our Freedoms

By Albert V. Burns

The education establishment in this country, at all levels, continually decries the absence of parental involvement in the everyday process of educating the young people of this country. We are asked to volunteer time to ease the burdens on the teachers. We are NOT expected to assume that we will have any input into decisions effecting what they will be taught or how the teaching process is to be done.

In the book, “Educating For The New World Order,” the author, Bev Eakman points out repeatedly the necessity of the educationists to preserve the ILLUSION that there is: “Lay, or community, participation in the decision making process, while in fact lay citizens are being squeezed out.”

It is interesting, and EXTREMELY important to Americans, both as parents and as citizens, to clearly understand just HOW the “squeezing out” process takes place. It is a well defined, if not well perceived, process known as the “Alinsky Method” (which was derived from a procedure named as “The Delphi Technique.”) This method of manipulating people is based on the fact that people in groups tend to share a common knowledge base and display certain identifiable characteristics known as “group dynamics.”

In this process, one or more people known as “Change Agents” or “Facilitators” appear to be acting as organizers, “allowing” each person in the group to express their concerns about some program or policy under consideration. While this process is going on, people are urged to make lists or form into task forces. The Facilitator carefully notes which members of the group are leaders, which are “loud mouths” and which may be easily swayed to different viewpoints.

At a certain point, the previously friendly Change Agent begins to act as “devil’s advocate,” becoming an agitator. The process involves playing one part of the group against another, the “divide and conquer” technique. Anyone who is not clearly in accord with the Facilitator’s agenda is made to appear ridiculous, inarticulate, ignorant or dogmatic. The idea is to make these members of the group angry thus escalating tensions. The end object being to shut opposition voices out of the group.

The “targets” of such manipulation rarely, if ever, realize how they are being manipulated. If they do suspect, they generally have no idea how to defeat the process.

This method is being used at all levels of government to force meetings toward PRESET conclusions. There are three steps to defeating this process. They are simple to learn, if not always easy to put into practice since the Facilitators are well trained in agitation techniques.

The first rule is: Always be charming, pleasant and courteous. SMILE! Speak in a normal voice to avoid seeming to be belligerent or aggressive.

Rule No. 2 is to STAY FOCUSED! Write your question or statement down in advance to help you stay on track. These Change Agents are trained to twist the conversation around to make the questioner appear foolish or belligerent or aggressive. The idea being to put the questioner on the defensive. Be careful! As mentioned in Rule 1, always be charming, pleasant and courteous (if it kills you to do so!) Often an attempt will be made to change the subject, digress or distort your intent. Always bring them back to the question you asked! If they distort your question into what amounts to an accusation of them, simply state clearly and precisely: “That is NOT what I stated. What I asked was… “(Here, repeat your original question.) Do not be distracted or angered by their efforts to make you look bad.

Rule No. 3: BE PERSISTENT! When the Facilitator realizes that putting you on the defensive is not going to work, quite often he, or she, will go into some long drawn out discussion of some unrelated or only vaguely related subject. Such a discussion may drag on for a number of minutes. The intent being to have the crowd become bored and forget what the original question was. Let them run on, then very calmly, quietly but with determination drag them back to the subject by saying: “But you didn’t answer my question! My question was… “(again, repeat your question.)

Never, NEVER allow yourself to become angry. Anger directed toward the Change Agent makes him or her the victim. Their object is to become liked by the crowd, to be seen as a friend by a majority of those present to convince that majority the ideas of the Facilitator are correct and acceptable.

With the increasing demand for education reform, increasing agitation among the public and more and more grassroots research exposing the defects in our current government indoctrination centers, also known as public schools, more and more people are being exposed to this Alinsky method of maneuvering public meetings toward preset goals. Somehow, people walk out of public meetings wondering just what happened — how were their ideas and objections so neatly derailed. This consistent pattern of manipulation of public meetings is causing concern about the corruption of the very process of government established by our Founding Fathers.

Next week we will examine some of the finer points of the Delphi Technique, how and why it was originally developed and how it is being used to destroy our freedoms.

Ah …. here is how to counteract — or defeat the Alinsky or Delphi method:

How to Diffuse the Delphi Technique

Three steps can diffuse the Delphi Technique as facilitators attempt to steer a meeting in a specific direction.

1. Always be charming, courteous, and pleasant. Smile. Moderate your voice so as not to come across as belligerent or aggressive.

2. Stay focused. If possible, jot down your thoughts or questions. When facilitators are asked questions they don’t want to answer, they often digress from the issue that was raised and try instead to put the questioner on the defensive. Do not fall for this tactic. Courteously bring the facilitator back to your original question. If he rephrases it so that it becomes an accusatory statement (a popular tactic), simply say, “That is not what I asked. What I asked was . . .” and repeat your question.

3. Be persistent. If putting you on the defensive doesn’t work, facilitators often resort to long monologues that drag on for several minutes. During that time, the group usually forgets the question that was asked, which is the intent. Let the facilitator finish. Then with polite persistence state: “But you didn’t answer my question. My question was . . .” and repeat your question.

Never become angry under any circumstances. Anger directed at the facilitator will immediately make the facilitator the victim. This defeats the purpose. The goal of facilitators is to make the majority of the group members like them, and to alienate anyone who might pose a threat to the realization of their agenda. People with firm, fixed beliefs, who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in, are obvious threats. If a participant becomes a victim, the facilitator loses face and favor with the crowd. This is why crowds are broken up into groups of seven or eight, and why objections are written on paper rather than voiced aloud where they can be open to public discussion and debate. It’s called crowd control.

At a meeting, have two or three people who know the Delphi Technique dispersed through the crowd so that, when the facilitator digresses from a question, they can stand up and politely say: “But you didn’t answer that lady/gentleman’s question.” Even if the facilitator suspects certain group members are working together, he will not want to alienate the crowd by making accusations. Occasionally, it takes only one incident of this type for the crowd to figure out what’s going on.

Establish a plan of action before a meeting. Everyone on your team should know his part. Later, analyze what went right, what went wrong and why, and what needs to happen the next time. Never strategize during a meeting.

A popular tactic of facilitators, if a session is meeting with resistance, is to call a recess. During the recess, the facilitator and his spotters (people who observe the crowd during the course of a meeting) watch the crowd to see who congregates where, especially those who have offered resistance. If the resistors congregate in one place, a spotter will gravitate to that group and join in the conversation, reporting what was said to the facilitator. When the meeting resumes, the facilitator will steer clear of the resistors. Do not congregate. Instead gravitate to where the facilitators or spotters are. Stay away from your team members.

This strategy also works in a face-to-face, one-on-one meeting with anyone trained to use the Delphi Technique.

Here is a link to some videos from Camp Obama from last year:

http://campobama.blogspot.com/

The videos are pretty long so I haven’t listened to much of them but what immediately struck me are the frequent mentions in the explanations below the videos of learning how to tell “stories of self” in order to “relate to voters on a deeper emotional level”. There is also emphasis on leadership teams rather than just leaders. I have no background in psychology or group dynamics but I wonder if the teams are used in order to assure that no one gets off message.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-08-21 21:47:59

See you don’t need a degree in psychology — just maturity and the ability to see what is happening.

My guess is that you are correct about the team work.

See the articles I’ve posted on the Alinsky method and the Delphi techniques above.

My theory is that these will be the methods that the Obama/Soetoro thugs will be using to intimidate Clinton’s delegates next week.

It’s highly irresponsible of the DNC that these are handled by volunteers and there is no accountability. This is the precursor to the Presidency!!

And I had read earlier that Clinton lawyers had collected affadavits re: people’s experiences: who has that information and why hasn’t the DNC been confronted with it?

This is outrageous, and makes me sick to my stomach to read it. And people wonder why we refuse to vote for this fraud!

I have written this story a thousand times about what I saw in Iowa. I went there for one day trips with groups but over the New Years weekend I took a wonderful drive from Chicago. On the 3 hour drive, I saw at least 40 buses with Barky signs going my direction. There were 2 land highways at points in the trip and it was scary with all the buses. Since I did not stay for the caucus I can not swear to non residents participating, but I can certainly tell you I saw more people for Illinois in Iowa than were on the steets of downtown Chicago.
Now if they want to investigate fraud in the primary look no further than Indiana especially Gary. We reported 100’s of violations to HRC campaign.

We might see an Obama/Clinton ticket for the simple reason that it would be the strongest possible democratic ticket.

I have my favorites, just being honest, I really hadn’t ever heard of him until this election. Shame on me for not watching the last convention, but I didn’t. I was out of the loop, dealing with a son at war, so I wasn’t as into politics as I would have been.
What I hate is the fighting everyone is doing, and I have contributed as well, guilty. But, please try and understand being called a racist was like getting my face slapped over and over, by a really good friend. I didn’t understand it, and I don’t now. I support your vote for Obama, and I really hope you can not hold it against anyone for their choice of vote. We have all been angry for too long, over so many things starting with 9-11, the invasion of Iraq and with nowhere to put that anger. Then Hillary will be where she belongs…top of the ticket.

its dawned on me that the totals they were giving the american people, stating they had enough superdelegates to elect obama was false. they just made up a number to tell the newsdopes. they really didn’t have as many delegates as they said.

i wonder how many delegates they really had when they said they had the magic #. i bet hillary really had that magic # and not obama. they just switched the delegate votes before anyone voted.

Comment by meileen | 2008-08-21 20:12:46

You know, I did not know how to ‘find’ that video again, and I agree. I believe they even ’stole’ the number of pledged delegates this way. I also believe this was why they did not want her on the first ballot with a roll call vote. The numbers are not really there for them, and that’s why they started cajoling/threatening folks to switch. My hunch is this roll call vote will NOT be transparent because of the things that occurred this election cycle, things that this video makes apparent.

Thanks for posting the link Phishmelt. Who do you think Hillary will chose as her VP?

Comment by It's Not Me | 2008-08-21 21:18:32

Neither candidate had enough Pledged Delegates to win the nomination. What the BO campaign and the MSM did was add the Super Delegate and Pledged Delegates together to get to a bogus number to hoodwink and bamboozle the masses.

I saved this (the numbers could have changed since I saved this…they make the numbers up as they go along):

I love how the MSM and talking heads and the DC elites and the DNC have changed the narrative of this race. When this primary began, all we heard was each candidate needs 2025 PLEDGED DELEGATES to be the nominee…each candidate needs 2025 PLEDGED DELEGATES to be the nominee….each candidate needs 2025 PLEDGED DELEGATES to be the nominee…

Then FL and MI were seated and the number went up to 2118 PLEDGED DELEGATES to be the nominee (? I think that’s the current number.. they change it every day) and NOW, those numbers/RULES are IGNORED they are using the SUPER DELEGATES to get to that number (2118) WHICH IS BOGUS.

NEITHER candidate has the required PLEDGED DELEGATES to win the nomination. Everyone in the media knows this. Everyone in the media is LYING about this “process.”

Hillary has 1923 TOTAL Delegates (Pledged and Supers)
1637 = PLEDGED DELEGATES
286 = SUPER DELEGATES

BO has 2156 TOTAL DELEGATES
1762 = PLEDGED DELEGATES
394 = SUPER DELEGATES.

As you can see, which is clear to anyone with a brain, NEITHER CANDIDATE HAS THE REQUIRED 2118 PLEDGED DELEGATES. BO IS NOT THE NOMINEE

I also saved THIS (ticks me off every time I read it :():

Some Findings:

* 35.6 million people have voted
* The 37 primary states account for 97% of the vote.
* The 13 caucus states account for 3% of the vote.

Bottom line: Clinton’s lead is from 34.5 million voters (97%) in Primaries. Obama’s lead is from 1.1 million voters (3%) in caucuses.

BO is a FRAUD.

Thanks for this info, but it looks like you caused troll panic for ways to derail this conversation!

Yes, Hillary kept winning up till the end and they were at their wits’ end how to MTSBQ. Even to the point of simply taking some of Hillary’s delegates and just GIVING them to the dope who took his name off the MI ballot. And they still had to change the totals/goal line.

This guy did something amazing and you won’t give him credit for it. Instead, you accuse him of somehow stealing the nomination without a shread of cedible evidence to back it up. When I say “get over it”, I mean your sense of entitlement. You, like Hillary underestimated the guy, and were defeated. You couldn’t accept it, so you immediately assumed there was wrong doing. Yet, no evidence has emerged to support it. Hell, you don’t have to like the guy, just give him the respect that he deserves. Also, You’d be doing your county a huge disservice by voting for McCain. We will be in WWIII within 2 years if that guy get’s in. Vote Nader, Barr or McKinney. American can’t afford another 4 years of Neocon rule. It just can’t. P.S. I’d have voted for Hillary if she won. Dear Barry,

Congratulations on masterfully gaming the caucus system, disenfranchizing millions of voters and cheating, bribing, stealing and bullying on your way to the Democratic Selection Nomination.

This is your Moment.

I hope that the Democratic Convention is all you dreamed it would be from your early formative years in Indonesia when you planned to someday become the first thoroughly unqualified, inadequate, inexperienced man to be called President. I know George Bush beat you to that goal, but you have the historic precedent of adding African American to that distinction.

We recognize the historic nature of your candidacy and wish you the best of luck against John McCain. America loves a good political battle.

However, we are truly sorry to inform you that after much consideration we will not be holding caucuses on November 4th in lieu of using actual voting machines and paper ballots sticking with the voting methods of the past to determine the outcome of the presidential election.

I know this will come as a disappointment to you and your militant surrogates and the far reaching ground organization that you have built.

But, you will be pleased to know that greyhound bus charters will extend the campaign refunds on bookings if notified 60 days in advance.

Best of Luck,

The American People

Thanks for all your work, Dr. Long.

I hated my caucus, Obama supporters were aggressive and rude. I’ve never seen a caucus like that. It’s like people completely forgot basic manners. They tried to silence and intimidate the elderly, women, anybody that wasn’t supporting Obama. They called people liars, they shouted over people who were speaking. People in their 80’s. You just don’t do that.

We had tough Hillary supporters and fought for every delegate, but a whole lot of people were silenced. You could seem them huddled together in corners whispering their support for Hillary. Whispering! People were literally concerned about writing their name and home address down on a piece of paper that Obama supporters might have access to. I was handing out Hillary stickers and a some women put them on and hid them under their sweaters. They didn’t feel safe publically stating who they supported.

Nothing illegal happened (as far as I know). There were no direct threats or violence. But I know intimidation when I see it and this was definite intimidation.

Comment by fif | 2008-08-21 19:58:50

The bottom line is this. Obama is tied with McCain now. Once he becomes the official nominee then you are going to have around the clock tv and web videos showing Rev. Wright, Michelle Obama, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers etc. You are going to have Obama potrayed as a muslim, as a baby killer, and as someone who is surrounded by people who hate America in general. Right or wrong you are going to have Republicans 527’s playing on the fact Obama is black in a not so subtle way. His middle name will be used. The republicans and the republicans 527’s will be able to go places that the Clinton campaign never could, and when it comes time to vote, the majority of Americans is not going to vote for a black man who they have been told is a muslim america hating baby killer for 3 months straight. Like I said Obama is at best tied right now. (The fact he over polls means he might even be behind right now) and the republicans and the 527’s have yet to play hardball. The reality is that Obama is going to lose by a landslide. He cant win.

I think every one of us who have any kind of foresight whatsoever — and who have paid attention to Republican campaigning over the past decade or so — have been saying this for months.

The GOP is masterful in the art of negative campaigning, and they are going to unleash on Barack Obama, who is probably the weakest candidate with the most skeletons in his closet of any candidate we could have run from the field we started with … and that includes John Edwards the adulterer.

I mean, I’ve turned my back on the party not just because of the misogyny, but also because allowing Obambi to fraud and foul his way to the nomination is just plain stupid. Like kindergarden stupid. Like a-loss-is-guaranteed stupid. I mean extra stupid with more stupid on top!

This stupidity about McCain’s houses shows Obama’s desperation. McCain has lived in Washington, DC, without his family, for years because he places his service first. He travels back and forth to AZ to see them on weekends. He is not living large off of his wife–he is busy in DC focusing on legislation, whether you agree with his positions or not. His YEARS of experience speak for themselves. Obama has nothing but platitudes to run on, so he grasps at straws.

Comment by Just Wondering | 2008-08-21 20:50:32

Uh huh. So why is it that John McCain tops the list for the most votes missed of any United States Senator? He’s so busy “focusing on legislation” that he hasn’t got the time to vote on over half of it?

John McCain has missed 407 votes (63.8% of all votes) during the 110th Congress. He has cast only 231 votes. (Kind of makes you wonder, since he lives right there in DC.)

Obama has cast 348 votes. 117 more than John McCain, for the same period.

Absolutely–they’re just waiting for him to be officially nominated. Another thing if Hillary agreed to such a far fetched notion as being the veep for that idiot, if he did self destruct and have to drop out wouldn’t she automaticaaly be the nominee? The caucuses were his only hope of faking the numbers in the long run to ‘look as if’ he was ahead, he knew she would sink him in the primary states. It’s funny the organizations that are working for him to register voters and who are advertising in the help wanted sections of newspaper are all run by white people. I went on one of their websites and the leaders are affiliated with moveon.org, and are from ‘elite’ universities. Where are the African Americans, not one photo of an African American.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Remember guys that Cindy McCain is part owner or owner of one of the biggest beer companies in the USA. There is no telling how much real estate is technically attached to her, due to the company and the family.
McCain was trying to just give the most honest answer he could.

Patsy and Sugar were just talking about this and saying who cares how many homes McCain have…that’s the American Dream and it’s stupid for Obama’s campaign to even try to make an issue of it.

Comment by CJ | 2008-08-21 20:55:40

Funny that the same people who are making a stink about McCain’s homes never brought this up regarding Kerry. Another thing, Michelle Obama said that this was Barak’s last chance to run for President because they would be too rich and out of touch after this election. So I guess they aspire to being rich landlords someday! I wonder if the McCains purchased their “homes” in the same manner as the Obamas purchased theirs? Does Rezko have an office in Arizona? LOL.

The point of the criticism is that John McCain is so wealthy and so far removed from the mainstream that he has no acutal grasp of the economic concerns and daily financial realities of the vast majority of American voters.

Something like the average American’s concern over the cost of filling up the tank of the family car, for example, is only an abstraction for John McCain. The average American might be balancing the costs of gasoline and family grocery money. The visceral meaning of that doesn’t actually register with a guy who routinely drops over 500 bucks on a pair of loafers.

Obama and his wife were basically middle class Americans bringing up two kids on the money they earned from their jobs until the time of his recent book success.

McCain hasn’t had to worry about personal or family finances since 1980–prenuptuals notwithstanding. His second wife never has.

Well, I’m only applying John McCain’s definition of “rich”. That takes an income of $5 million a year? (Another little joke.)

Obama’s personal finance profiles are available for 2004 and following:

http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/candlook.php?CID=N00009638

After 8 years in the Illinois State Senate and 12 years as a univeristy professor, he had total assets valued somewhere between $200,000 and $400,000. (Presumably his net worth was considerably less. Most people tend to owe money on their assets–mortgages, car loans, credit card loans, etc.) He had annual gross income of $112,431. He was doing damn good my my humble standards, but was still not what most would call rich. I’m sure he and Michelle could still remember what it was like to be living on a lot less.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-21 22:00:03

My God how could he afford Arugula on that meager salary never mind qualify for a loan on a 1.6 million dollar mansion?

5 years ago when i was buying a house and making 118K, my reasonable limit on housing purchase was 240K, and with the taxes and mortgage and insurances associated with the purchase, i wasn’t comfortable going any higher.

And then there was John McCain’s close friendship and his highly questionable dealings with Charles Keating…the guy whose Lincoln Savings and Loan scam cost thousands of hard-working Americans their entire life savings.

What about John’s close connections with Phil Gramm? That’s all a lot more recent. Phil Gramm gave us the Enron Loophole, that once again cost thousands of hardworking Americans their entire life savings. He also removed regulations that led to the recent sub-prime loan disaster. John took Phil on as his top economic advisor early in his 2008 presidential campaign. This is like going to an arsonist who started a conflagration for advise on how to put the fire out.

In the Keating Five Scandal, John was ultimately only given an official reprimand for showing “very poor judgement”.

His selection of Phil Gramm was probably only another case of “very poor judgement”.

On the other hand, you keep saying that McCain’s long experience and solid judgement are his big selling point.

Actually yes he did.

Stop lying.

There is plenty of info on the net.

Fact: Rezko new both the property owner Lets call him Dr, Doodad or Dr. D for short and rezko was heavily involved with obama.

Fact: Rezko introduced Larry Curly BO and MO to Dr. D.

Fact: Michelle was on the board that approved modifications to historic property.

Fact: Dr. D was selling the property as one big piece it was not originally split up.

Fact: Michelle sheparded the petition through the historic committee to split it into two pieces…a process that takes many many months but that MO pushed through in record time.

Fact: Dr. D Agreed to this only if both parcels would be sold at same time.

Fact: as soon as petition was approved MO resigned form the commitee.

Fact: Rezko had his wife Pay top dollar for the Garden plot and the Stooges, i mean obamas paid 300K under market for the house lot.

Fact: Rezko helped Barry get Financing through AUchi and his private bank, The Bank of Harvey for the loan on his swanky new crib at an astonishingly good rate.

Fact: Dr D and Rezko were very good friends and socially which is what facilitated the chop chop of the lot into lot a and lot b.

Fact: You Obama Koolaid drinking apologists just want to smoke the Hopium all day long and have given up your responsibility to yourselves to actually investigate and find out information for yourelves.

Oh yeah

one more Fact: Barry is gonna lose. Get Over It!!!

Why would rezko do all of this for Barry if this criminal who has been convicted of all kinds of crimes involving bribery coersion fraud etc didn’t expect something back?

Or was Rezko paying Barry back for helping him by reducing that kitchen cabinet from 15 members to 9 members of which 5 where stoolpidgeons who would rubber stamp any contract rezko brought to them?

Fact: Something STINKS and it ain’t Barry’s Feet!!

Comment by Just Wondering | 2008-08-21 22:37:31

I figure Rezko did expect something back in return. I totally agree with you that Rezko is a slimeball. Rezko probably never did anything in his life without expecting something back. He cultivated relationships with anyone and everyone he thought might eventually help him. He probably tried to gradually draw people into his game, and get them dirty so he could hold that over them to draw them in even deeper. No doubt he was running that same modus operndi on Obama. I’m just not convinced he succeeded in moving the game far enough along to draw Obama into any seriously unethical compromise. If it turns out that I’m wrong, my belief that Obama is no worse than most politicians will be shattered. I’d feel betrayed, and be howling for his prosecution.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-21 22:56:04

It was payback. GO do research on how rezko ended up getting indicted.

It was because he was telling people i can get you state government contracts wholesale guaranteed for a fee.

Now go back a little more and find out how he could have made those types of promises.

There was a board that approved the use of moneys from the states pension funds for investment purposes.

That board had 15 people on it. Makes it hard to push your shit through when you only have 5 people in your pocket on that board.

Enter Barry the Reformer. In the state senate his commitee is in charge of appropriating and controlling that board.

Barry, what do you think? lets get rid of 5 people from that comittee to streamline the process shall we?

After all do we really need 15 people to vet what we do with milions and millions of dollars of state employees pension funds?

Hey Great Idea. Barry gets the board reduced to 9 members…making sure the in the pocket members stay on board.

Barry gets lots of campaign contributions for this by the was as does the Governer.

Now Rezko starts pushing though contracts that he brings to the board. Finder fee? 250K+ each time.

The Board Members in the tank contribute to obama each time and the governor when a Rexko deal is rubber stamped.

REzko contributes to Barry and the governor each time he gets a rubber stamp.

The company the contract is from makes campaign contributions to Obama and the governor when their contract is rubber stamped.

oh did i mention there is a mysterious middle eastern fat man with lots and lots of money involved too?

OMG I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!! I MAY HAVE BEEN BORN IN A MANGER BUT I AM IN HOG HEAVEN!!

Even before the RBC killed the democratic party 5/31, I often said that a good way to solve it was to take out republican votes. Then see who democrats chose. My guess is it would have easily been Hillary. I heard in Texas, 65% of republican votes went to Obama. There has been a controversy over who the dems for a day voted to help and the GOP said they wanted Hillary so they could beat her because they were afraid of Obama. Of course, people who said that dumb crap to me, I’d say, duh! If you were afraid of one of the candidates, would you really tell them which one? Duh! Well, of course some of those people are figuring it out that I was right. Duh! But in the future, I would hope we would do away with allowing republicans to vote in the democratic primary anyway and vice versa. The GOP should not decide the Dem nominee. If someone wants to cross party lines in the GE, that’s fine, but in the primaries? No. Hell, no. That is just game playing.

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-08-21 22:26:59

McCain has a basic flaw Obama doen’t share, that’s totally obvious and easy to explain to the American voters:

John McCain’s tax plan is designed to greatly benefit people who have very high income–like John McCain himself–at the expense of everybody else, and at the cost of increasing the federal deficit.

Barack Obama’s tax plan is designed to help the middle class and the poor, by shifting a fairer portion of the tax burdon back up to higher-income Americans. With his new level of properity from his book sale, Obama’s tax plan actually represents a measurable degree of personal sacrifice. Obama’s plan means that his own family would pay significantly higher taxes.

Obama’s plan is also fiscally responsible. It would decrease the federal deficit, where McCain’s plan would increase it.

The numbers don’t lie. That’s how the two plans compare. And that’s how the two candidates compare, when it comes to putting self interest ahead of or secondary to the national interest.

That’s one fundamental truth that you can plainly see if you look beyond the republican smoke screen.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-08-22 11:29:35

We’ve covered all of Obama’s tax plans here. Of course, they CHANGE from day to day like all of his proposed policies.

Heh. I liked how last week, newspapers were cheering there was a RESPONSIBLE tax plan from Obama. At last!

By this point, no one really cares. He will say or do anything to get elected. Obama earmarked 100 million for Rezko houses. 11 of those bldgs were condemned, and they’re in Obama’s district.

Obama did it with healthcare, too. He’ll screw you over, if you go along with his crooked health plan.

The man is a parasite and a narcissist. He’s in over his head assuming he actually wants to do the job, but it’s more likely he wants to be an icon and get rich at your expense. He would seriously damage the country as much if not more than Bush has.

Comment by Outraged by the Right | 2008-08-22 13:49:52

“He will say or do anything to get elected.”

That’s not what I see. What I see is that there are people who will say or do anything to keep him from getting elected. They’ll push any lie and promote any vile rumor that serves that purpose. They’ll push them all, and switch their energy and attention to whichever currently seems to be working the best.

Such people lack all honor, all integrity, and all care and concern for either democracy or their country. Add to those flaws an enormous dose of hypocrisy, that allows them to see themselves as patriots.

Comment by StrawberrybitesBarky | 2008-08-22 13:53:45

The stories clearly illustrate the lack of ethics and morals on the part of people who are spreading them.

We’re witnessing a full-court attack on Obama in the form of a smear campaign. It’s the swiftboating of John Kerry, scaled up to the national level. It’s swiftboating on steroids.

All it takes are people with a lynch-mob mentality who have a complete disregard for the truth, access to media outlets, and purposeful ringleaders to stir the mob to action and incite it with a continuous stream of inflammatory lies.

The smear machine has them all, and the people using it will do anything it takes to keep a republican in the White House. They’ll bleed America dry before they’re done.

Comment by StrawberrybitesBarky | 2008-08-22 13:56:29
