Obama Tries to Quash Ayers Ad

Bud White’s excellent piece on the Republican 527 ad now hitting the airwaves showing only part of Barack Obama’s relationship with unrepentant American terrorist, Bill Ayers, has the Obama campaign worried. First, here is the ad:

Second, the Obama campaign has sent this letter begging stations not to run this ad. Here’s the letter:

aiplettertostations.pdf

Obama’s folks are in a snit that their Golden Child is being associated with terrorism. Well, too damn bad. It is true. Barack was in bed with Bill Ayers for at least 13 years.

Up to this point Barack’s team has avoided scrutiny on this issue because the media is too damn lazy to do simple investigation. Barack has tried to pretend that Ayers was just some guy from the neighborhood. Bollocks!! Ayers hired Barack to run a multi-million dollar foundation for him.

This ain’t swift boating. This ad is true and Barack has to offer a credible explanation of why he climbed into bed with Ayers. It may have made sense in the milieu of Chicago politics, but this dog won’t hunt in a national election. In fact, this dog will continue to bite Barack’s derrière for the duration of the campaign.

I asked a friend who knows someone who has seen the video to Michelle Obama making disparaging remarks about “white” folks. You know, those angry God hugging, gun toting mouth breathers. He wrote me the following:

But there is a very strange air about Republican operatives. In the last three weeks, I’ve talked to real insiders in VA, GA, AL and here. They all remind me of a unit waiting to cross the line of departure on an attack. Quiet, determined, last cigarette, last “can of peaches out of the ration,” radio checks, confident. They all use the term “safely nominated” when referring to Obama. That is weird.

They can’t wait to start taking Barack apart on the issues the media chose to ignore up to this point. And when the attacks intensify Joe Biden’s foreign policy expertise won’t matter one whit.

This ad is getting plenty of hits on YTube. Besides your upload it is getting viewed on many others, one of them around 50,000 hits.

Some of the other anti-ob ads have a quarter million hits.

The word is slowly getting out and that snowball just started its roll downhill to hell.

Speaking of Ohio (where I am), I find it more than a little strange that Barky & Co. talk about winning Virginia and Colorado and seem to pay little, if any, attention to Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. The mood here is not Obama-leaning. I know several Dem Party operatives and they offer quiet resignation when discussing him. The vibe is that they are covering their own butts to get elected and trying to get the electorate to look away from who is at the top of the ticket.

I add PA & MI because I travel there and they seem to be in a more anti-BO mood than Ohio.

I live in Colorado. Obama will not win here. The cauccuses were not representative of Coloradans. If we had not hahd a blizzard keeping rural Coloradans from attending caucusses Obama would not have won. We were not experienced with caucusses and didn’t have any idea how to run one. In November, we will have all day to get to the polls, and we can vote by absentee ballot. It will not be lambing season and it won’t matter if it storms like it did in March.

Hi to you from a Colorado native. The Colorado I came from was too smart to be taken in by Barry Soetoro, glad to see that some still hold out for values.

I have to question the timeing and the intent of the mayor listed in the article below.

Colo. city official cancels Al-Jazeera barbecue
AP
GOLDEN, Colo. -The city manager of Golden, Colo., has decided to withdraw his invitation to let the Al-Jazeera news network broadcast from a barbecue in his backyard on the final night of the Democratic National Convention.
City manager Mike Bestor has apologized for any divisiveness he caused in the city of about 18,000, about 15 miles west of Denver.
Bestor made his decision after a City Council meeting Thursday at which residents complained the event with the English-language service of the Middle East news network would be disrespectful to veterans and active U.S. soldiers.
Al-Jazeera is based in Qatar and is funded by the royal family of the Persian Gulf nation. The network says its English service reaches at least 100 million households worldwide.

If Obama truly has nothing to fear, then he should instruct the University of Illinois to release all of the Ayers-Annenberg papers to the public immediately. Until then, we will believe that a connection exists between a domestic terrorist and a predidential hopeful, one that hopefully will do him in.

Comment by Paul F. Villarreal | 2008-08-23 03:09:34

I live in PA, and I’ll tell you right now that there is an excellent chance for McCain to win here. Many people are not fond of Obama here, as his 6-week bus tour around the state showed. It did almost nothing to help him in the primaries and actually hurt him in a number of locales.

That’s why Obama is going to give out street money in November in PA. They know they are in for a real struggle here.

Obama’s platform entirely on “change” and getting away from same old “washington politics”; Biden is a 5 term senator.

Obama prides himself in being opposed to the war: Biden voted for it.

Obama was accused of plagiarism; so was Biden.

Biden called Obama “articulate” and “clean”. Biden also said you cant walk into a dunkin donuts without an Indian accent.

but the classic: Biden is quoted as saying that Obama is not ready to be President.

Obama’s campaign is like a gift to the GOP with a big red bow.

I can rest easy now.

Hiya Teak!

Let’s not forget Mr. Jeff Gannon/Guckert…What’s Biden’s connection to the infamous miltary porn stud/faux WH Journalist? Hmmmmmmm…

Did they cross paths on the commute from DC to Delaware? Did Biden know about his back tax problem? What about Gannon’s Delaware “Bedrock
Corporation?”

Why did “Jimmy/Jeff” make this intriguing comment about Biden on his blog? Did “Jimmy/Jeff” know Blevins, Biden’s campaign staffer who was indicted for stealing Campaign Funds from him? So many questions that need answers! What’s a Democrat to do?

Here’s a clip of what Gannon/Guckert said on his blog…

“I watched a clip of Sen. Joe Biden on Bill Maher’s HBO crapfest. wonder why he didn’t mention meeting me some years ago. C’mon Joe,
think..”

http://www.jeffgannon.com /

“C’mon Joe, think…”

WTF does THAT mean? I remember Biden “recoiling” after that comment was made. Shut him the hell up. Completely. Now THAT’S news!

Off topic: So much for Hopey/Change, eh? A NEW kind of politics? Give me a fucking break. You can’t get much more “establishment” and “good old boy’s club” than Joe Biden. I mean, REALLY…

Does anyone else remember this little not-so-subtle TAUNT by Gannon/Guckert?

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-23 03:58:56

Now that you mention it, I do.

I was curious, but later forgot about it and moved on.

Now I’m wondering if Biden is just a big head fake.

Obama thinks this “suspense” is helpful, but it isn’t–it’s just making him look childish, like someone who is DELIBERATELY trying to own the Sunday news cycle and all the talk shows.

I hope they give it two minutes and move on to other shit, myself. It would serve him right for being so transparently manipulative.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-08-23 07:52:03

This first Ayers ad has got to be an opening ante. There is something about that relationship, perhaps something involving the Annenberg Challenge, that Obama is very afraid of. It’s got to be something that is just below the surface, in the Annenberg Challenge papers that Ayers apparently put a lock on, that they don’t want found. Everyone knows that the AC was essentially a failure, a huge project with gradiose objectives that wasted a great deal of money and in the end achieved very little. Obama was the Chairman, so in his only previous executive management outing he failed. But what is hidden are the details of where that money was actually spent, or perhaps a proposal that Obama and Ayers jointly backed that the board didn’t approve because it was too far off of the reservation for even the mainstream left. Whatever it is, Obama and Co. desperately don’t want it found before the election. Why?

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-08-23 02:14:34

Money laundering and bribes would be my guess.

Comment by Elle | 2008-08-23 03:06:58

Regardless of what is beneath the surface, BO thought it was so horrible, he withheld the material information that, Ayers hired him to head the Annenberg Challenge; or even that he had that job. That’s how I knew there was a there, there. Given the paucity of relevant experience on his resume, I assumed he must have kept this experience off the page because it would torpedo his candidacy. Now, I expect to see an ad with all these flip-flops about the true extent of his relationships to these people. (For example, Ayers was just a fellow in my neighborhood vs. he hired me to head the Annenberg Challenge; and Rezko was just a client of the firm for whom I did ~5 hours of work vs. Michelle and I visited him at his vacation home and he helped me to buy a million dollar home.)

I really don’t know what to say. I am feeling really down after this announcement just broke. I think I kept secretly hoping that he would pick Hillary. I think I must have really wanted this to happen, otherwise I wouldn’t be feeling so crappy right now.

I like Joe Biden, but this is not about him. It’s that Hillary was just as qualified as anyone, if not more so. It’s that Obama kept saying she would be on anyone’s short list. It’s that his campaign never even vetted her. It’s that Hillary got screwed one more time. If there was ever a faint hope that I would vote for the democrats this year, it’s gone. withoutparty.com

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-08-23 02:32:46

The whole DNC needs to be fired — the only way to do this is for a massive loss in November.

Hillary should NOT be anywhere near Obama — he is going down (and hopefully going to jail).

Then in 2012 — Hillary will rise out of the ashes.

Unless McCain gets real smart and asks Hillary to be his VP. However — that might eliminate her from running in 2012.

I was greatly relieved with that creep Biden was the VP pick.

Biden who is in the pocket of the credit card industry– just as Obama/soetoro is being funded by Wall Street and other financial hard hitters. Biden in his own way is dirty.

And if we scratch the surface Biden is probably another sexist pig — just like Soetoro.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 02:34:49

I was really hoping Hillary would be on the ticket myself. It seemed like the strongest combination. For all we know, though, Hillary might not have wanted the spot. And this VP outcome might be better for Hillary and the party in the long run.

As long as she supports the Obama campaign this time around, another run at the presidency remains a distinct likelihood. She’ll be in the clear for 2012 if Obama crashes; if Obama is elected, she’s an obvious candidate for an important cabinet slot that further empower her and position her for another run at the White House.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-08-23 04:47:34

First of all he will not be president and will not have a cabinet and - she wouldn’t want it anyway.

Second - I am THRILLED and doing the HAPPY DANCE that it is Biden and NOT Hillary.

I love Hillary, she is a great senator to NY and that is where she will continue to make a difference for each and every NY’er till 2012…

For her to have anything to do with ob’s crash and burn would ruin her reputation that she has guarded for her entire life. She will exit this year unscathed by his demise.

To watch them crash and burn from a safe distance is Hillary’s best option, provided the SD’s do not awaken from their one year toxic slumber and say “I could have had a V8!” and NOMINATE her.

The DNC is full of flaming idiots.

Comment by Bigtime | 2008-08-23 08:06:52

But 2012? God, I don’t know if I can wait that long without losing my marbles. I sat through eight years already. UGH. No. I’m still going to hold on to the “hope” that the Super D’s will come to their senses.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-08-23 04:51:52

Who says she couldn’t have refused?

Of course she could have. She can do anything she wants. Did you hear the music she chose for her final speech when she announced her suspension?

It was “who says you can’t go HOME” - she took her ball (and her 18 million voters) and left the stage for all intents and purposes. She honored her commitment to shill for him now and then, she paid her dues and then some.

Obama is also whining to the Obamabots, stirring them up yet again to threaten the stations airing the ad. He’s sending out this email:

” Yesterday, a right-wing smear group launched a full-fledged attack against Barack, pulling in every baseless lie and re-hashed false assertion in their playbook.

Not only that — it turns out the ad may be illegal. Campaign finance experts are weighing in about violations of election law. And the ad is so ridiculous that CNN and even Fox News have both refused to run it.

This is exactly the kind of politics Barack is running to change.

Unfortunately, some TV stations in Michigan are running the ad right now.

Contact stations in Michigan and tell them this kind of garbage shouldn’t be run on the public’s airwaves — no matter how much money they are getting to run it.

John McCain claims he had nothing to do with this attack, but a former McCain consultant leads the so-called ‘third-party’ group behind these lies.

The primary funder of the ads, Harrold Simmons, is one of the main culprits behind the Swift Boating of John Kerry and a top bundler for John McCain. The spokesman for the group also has ties to the Kerry Swift Boat attacks.

The McCain camp and the Swift Boaters must be truly desperate to change the subject from John McCain’s shocking disconnect with the economic struggles of the American people.

Take action right now to make sure this trash doesn’t pollute another election:

All it will take is a few more of these ads and McCain will have a 10 point+ lead in no time. If Obama ran an ad asking/questioning if we knew enough about John McCain, it wouldn’t be effective, and not just because we’ve known all about the personality and bio of McCain already (for, well, forever now) it’s because of the fundamental differences between Democrats and Republicans.

Please forgive the broad generalizations I am about to make; the veins of which the argument comes is valid..it is late and I am certain I probably won’t articulate this well enough.

Republicans tend to base decisions off of blind faith and values. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it’s just that the cloth from which one is cut contains identifying values/beliefs that are familiar at their core. How faith and religion became woven into the fabric of the Republican Party is an entirely different discussion, but the point remains that conservatives do factor in core values into their positioning.

Democrats/progressives by nature are more likely to question and examine any point or topic to get an answer/result of “what’s best for all of us” rather than a republican answer/result of “what’s best for me/those similar to my core values”.

That’s why this ad and the ones that are sure to follow will be effective and successful in casting doubt onto Barack Obama in the public domain. Basically, even if the ads are retracted or successfully killed, once the seeds of doubt have been planted, they will continue to grow and takeover whatever predetermined positioning the likely Democratic electorate has taken. I guess I should have just said that, sorry if this post irkes someone, no intention to offend anyone.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 03:12:06

How would you react, though, if the Obama campaign countered with an ad featuring John McCain at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? Say they matched up outtakes from Sturgis with quick video clips of John’s many moments of apparent memory lapses and angry outbursts, while calmly suggesting that the man might no longer have the dependable, level-headed judgement required of a guy who has his finger on the button of our nuclear arsenal? We could end with a freeze-frame of John’s face and a superimposed mushroom cloud.

That would be highly effective. It might destroy the guy’s image. It would sure as hell damage it. But does anybody think that’s where a presidential campaign should go?

The Ayer’s ad steps over the line and heads off in that direction. I think it would be better for everybody if got canned before the Obama people decide they’ve got to hit back even harder or lose the election.

Comment by Pink Panther | 2008-08-23 03:23:09

Follow that ad up with an ad of Castro of Cuba, Gaddafi of Libya, Kim Jong of North Korea, Hamas, and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela all voicing their support for Obama.

Then show the possibility of Kim Jong’s troops storming into South Korea; Cuba allowing Russian troops in their bases; Hamas killing innocent Christians and Jewish people; and Chavez invading South American countries.

“Obama said he was a citizen of the world.”

Then ask Americans: “Obama associated with Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan and Rashid Khalidi.”

“Do you really think he is going to stop these marxist and terrorist? ”

John McCain-Country First.

Follow that ad up with an ad of Castro of Cuba, Gaddafi of Libya, Kim Jong of North Korea, Hamas, and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela all voicing their support for Obama.

If Hitler came out in WWII and said he hoped that Roosevelt would win reelection, then the American public would have built a wheelchair ramp right outside the main door to the White House and rolled his crippled ass into traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue. These endorsements send a loud message, and more Americans should be waking up to it. Maybe it’s acculturalisation, milquetoast anemia, increasing lack of national identity, superficiality, multicultural hipness, indifference towards the trajectory of this country, the internet which corrodes a national cohesiveness - maybe we really are lazy, stupid and mean. In that case, this great experiment called America would be over. As Macedonia, the Persians and the Romans went, our empire ends.

As for the choices in this election, John McCain is an honorable man. He has nowhere near the baggage Obama brings to the table. His age and his temper are not really concerns. We see him in debates, he inserts himself into the news cycles enough, that we all know he has a strong command of the facts and the events that shape our world. He continues to demonstrate this over and over. Our culture, a significant portion of it at least, still respects our elders, rewards sacrifice and hard work and forgives mistakes.

OK. John McCain: The oldest guy ever to take office. Older even than Ronald Reagan–the last republican with Alzheimer Syndrome to have his finger on the button of our nuclear missiles! John is already showing early signs of senile dementia: Mental lapses, memory problems, explosive outbursts, inappropriate behavior… (Here’s John at Sturgis, babbling incoherently about “four dollar a buck gallons”, and then offering his wife up for a topless talent contest notorious for the involvement of bananas…)

Of course, if John goes ’round the bend it can always be covered up. That worked with Reagan. The First Lady whispered his lines to him. We could rely similarly on our new First Lady. In spite of past drug addiction that reduced her to stealing drugs from… Oh, never mind! That’s past history. Betty Ford had drug and alcohol problems too, and she did just great! As a matter of fact, lots of republicans have drug and alcohol problems. That’s no problem. Why, our current president was once an obnoxious drunk! He’s had DUIs and a cocaine arrest but came through it all fine. Now he’s just obnoxious. Rush Limbaugh is a drug addict, and he’s a veritable font of conservative wisdom! There’s Cheney, with his own DUIs, and he’s a perfectly good leader. He STILL drinks. No problems there at all! (Except for gunning down the occasional lawyer while duck hunting drunk. The Secret Service whisked him away and kept him from the local authorities until his blood alcohol level was back to normal.)

Etc etc.

Is that what you like?

The problem is, these claims are old as the hills because McCain has been around. People feel they know him and are inoculated from those smears. I hope Obama does run an add like that… it will backfire.

Obama is the “high road” candidate… he has painted himself in a corner. His stealth attack technique got him through the primaries but that gig is up for him now, everyone is onto his game.

I wonder when Slate will publish the Obama Campaign Death Watch like the one they had for Hillary….

I’ve seen that ad on television already. It was shown as an example of possible coming TV attack ads, during a discussion about attack ads–which, of course, was just a free way of showing the damn thing.

As an Obama supporter I object because, of course, I think it seriously mischaracterizes a relationship in order to defame the candidate I support. My objection goes beyond that, though. The republicans are pushing the envelope again. The result will be further escalation of a character-attack war in which all legitimate important national issues will finally be totally lost.

Do we really want a resurrection of the Keating Five scandal? Do we want open attacks on McCain’s judgement, emotional stability and mental acuity, featuring clips of all of his recorded misstatements, memory slips, angry outbursts, his bizarre performance at Sturgis, etc? I don’t. I don’t agree with John McCain’s policies, but I do have respect for the guy, and I don’t want that to begin to seem like legitimate retalliation and the only way to counter the increasingly negative tone the republican campaign is taking.

If you didn’t want obama mauled then the press should have vetted him properly. After what obama did to hillary clinton and bill clinton sending memos to make them look racist. I have no sympathy for him. By the way i’m black, so i don’t take racial allegations lightly. Obama had no qualms trying to crush hillary or ending her, and I have no qualms with anyone crushing him. This entire election has been a farce, the things is campaign has been allowed to get a way with phenominal. He has lied repeatedly. Not kept one of his problems, seeks to destroy anyone who disagree with me. I can’t wait for someone to take him a part. Think about this, if obama had really wanted change he would have worked with the clintons and not against him. I’m 30 and so 3/4 of my life has been lived under republicans, but what it hasn’t been lived under is an individual who has done everything he can to crush other peoples free speech and the right to know even basic information about him. The only reason the olive branch is now even being remotely extended is because you are scared. If not you would insulting people just like most of the obama supporter have been doing for months. Obama is a big boy, he wanted to play with the big kids. So let him.

A big reason to make sure Obama is not elected is to think about the fact thta this is someone who gets away with alot of shady behavior and lies and has NEVER been held accountable for it. If he is not held accountable as a nominee, do you really think he’d be held accountable as POTUS? We have got to clean house with our Government. So Ziggy, you would like for the legitimate important national issues to be at the fore-front, right?

Why is Barack Obama talking about John McCain’s houses?

The door swings both ways.

Comment by doctorwang | 2008-08-23 03:34:07

Because he couldn’t answer the question of how many houses he owns? It’s a question of competence. Obviously something that McCain is lacking.

Comment by Sojourner | 2008-08-23 03:58:38

He actually doesn’t own any of them; they belong to his wife and her family.

Since housing is now a hot topic, let’s talk about Obama’s mansion and the Tony Rezko scandal, more of which will be coming into the daylight in the coming weeks.

I think we all would like to hear the “straight answers” that we’ll get from the Obama campaign on that little gem.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 04:12:00

A recent McCain ad indicated Rezko had helped the Obama’s purchase their new home. Which is a flat-out lie.

John’s people can tell a flat-out lie, and that’s your idea of revealing the truth about Barack Obama? This has been thoroughly investigated and proven.

John can endorse this reality-distorting crap, and you think John is a model of honesty and virtue, who is sure to be honest with the American people in matters of policy and governing?

Pardon me, but I just can’t follow the logic.

Comment by Pink Panther | 2008-08-23 04:24:33

Are you attempting to revise history and put words in Obama’s mouth?

In the November 5, 2006 Chicago Tribune, Obama said he regretted late his 2005 land purchase from now-indicted political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko in a deal that enlarged the senator’s yard.

“I consider this a mistake on my part and I regret it,” Obama told the Chicago Sun-Times in an exclusive and revealing question-and-answer exchange about the transaction.

In June 2005, Obama and Rezko purchased adjoining parcels in Kenwood. The state’s junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion, while Rezko paid $625,000 for the adjacent, undeveloped lot. Both closed on their properties on the same day.

Last January, aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.

Obama admitted he had a land deal with Retzo.

Comment by hank48188 | 2008-08-23 07:55:18

Ziggy, Why don’t you look at the archives here at No Quarter and read a post called “How to buy a mansion you can’t afford”, it tells the entire story. This property was a single parcel for 80 years, Obama and Rezko got the owner to split the parcel because Obama couldn’t afford it. Michelle Obama found out about the property being for sale because she was on the Landmarks Commission in Chicago and Hyde Park is a Historic District. The property was split in record time and both sales closed on the same day, which was a condition of the sale. If you look at the entire parcel you can see the part that Rezko’s wife bought for $625,000 is about 1/3 of the land and was NEVER worth $625,000. This was all done to allow Obama to get his Mansion. Rezko was already in trouble at this time, it had been in the Papers for over a year that the FEDS were on Rezko, yet Barack and wife wanted this house and did business with a crook to get it. Rezko didn’t have the money for this deal so he was able to borrow $3.5 million from a middle-eastern billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, to make this happen. They wanted to help a sitting U.S. Senator and possible President. This might not be CORRUPTION in Daleyville or Kwametown but it is everywhere else.

Comment by Princess4McCain | 2008-08-23 10:57:50

Hey Ziggy, where did you go??? Don’t you have something to say against the facts???Hard to refute the facts, isn’t it. If the land and house was only to sell together and Obama could not afford both, Rezko bought the land, overprice so Obama could afford the house, underpriced. So, without the help of Rezko, Obama could never have bought the house. Where is the lie in that. I hate debating Obama supporters. They refute facts which is unbelievable!! How do you refute the facts???? You Obama supporter are blind, brainless, idiots. I pray over half of American has more common sense then you Obamabots!!! If not, this country is going to hell. God, help us all. Country and brains first!! McCain 2008!

Comment by Buzz Latte | 2008-08-23 12:33:31

Sorry Ziggy, you’re wrong. It’s been throughly investigated and is true. Now the tricky part is the timing and the money. One avenue has Rezko getting money from a middle eastern arms dealer and then three weeks latter helping Obama finance his mansion.

Following the logical path for the money..it doesn’t look good for Barky.

Also, being named in the opening statements of the federal criminal trial for Rezko is not a good thing for Barky!

The SS Uberstupid Obama is going DOWN!

I prefer someone to say I don’t remember right now, McCain has more important things on his mind. It is brave to admit not to know something at this moment, rather that tell something that might not be acurate. Hush up already; naming such trivialities as gauge for competence. Give me a brake, the incompetent here is not McCain!

Comment by donnal | 2008-08-23 11:26:06

How stupid…McCain’s wife owns most of their property, he has a pre-nup. Most of their property are helded in land trusts which belongs to his wife and other family members. As he said his campaign would get back to them. Perhaps McCain thinks about other things than his wife’s properties .

BO, on the other hand opened the door for all of us to know about his land trust, how he acquired his home with the help from Tony, but only after MO found the home awhile working in Mayor Daly office. She, helped the owner thru subdivision, so it could be sold in two sales… so that BO could buy the house and Tony the land. The house has been given a lower tax appraisal, and a no-down loan from a close associate of Northern Trust. As the ad says who has the housing problem?

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-08-23 12:26:28

That’s absurd. He couldn’t answer the question, because his wife owns those houses. Some of them are condos and investment properties. They keep separate finances as well as joint assets. So why would he have a ready answer? DUH.

I think those are fair issues. They’re all things that should be considered before deciding to vote for McCain.

I don’t object to candidates being negative. The worst things about each one should eventually be exposed, and the voters can decide what matters. What I do object to is attacks that are untrue, misleading, distorted, or excessively inflammatory.

I don’t find anything untrue or misleading in McCain’s ad.

I think you are confused Ziggy, Obama sucked up to this TERRORIST because it would advance his career, and it does seem that Obama is attracted to anti-American folks like Ayers and Wright. Obama launched his first run for State Senate in Ayers’ living room, Ayers made Obama Chairman of the Annenberg Challenge and got him on the Board of the Woods Fund too. Now Obama complains because he hung with this TERRORIST for years and people point this fact out? You reap what you sow.

Comment by Sojourner | 2008-08-23 03:43:12

I totally see your point. More important issues (not things like number of houses, arugala, etc.) should be front and center. But ads like this one (which is FACT based) and the ones that are coming are a result of the media’s failure to fully and properly vet Obama as a candidate. Issues like Ayers & co. should have been either put to bed along time ago in the primaries or should have knocked Obama out of contention to begin with.
We should be having serious debate on environmental policy/global warming, Russia/Georgia, Iran/nuclear issues, along with a myriad of others. We are not talking about these things because my political “party” is trying to force a Manchurian Candidate when the alternative was the most qualified candidate for president on either side of the aisle for the last eight years.

Comment by HillGirl | 2008-08-23 03:54:47

Although I cannot speak for McCain, I wonder if he really didn’t know the answer. Perhaps he doesn’t consider them his houses - rather, his wife’s houses (thus, his wife’s business -not his). She is the Miss Moneybags - not him. I have read that there is a pre-nup and he wud walk away with diddly, squat, nada if they were to divorce.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-08-23 12:32:44

It’s a stupid point, because people look at character when making up their minds on who to vote for, and their decision-making process is emotional and hardly rational. Not to mention, Ayers and Obama and their relationship which he has gone to lengths to downplay are rational, legitimate concerns. This is a man of weak character - he was a terrorist, a fugitive from justice, a loathesome human being and a crook. His father was a fatcat corporate swindler, the kind of person Obama swears he’ll take down. It is very important that this relationship bears heavy scrutiny. It says everything about Obama’s values.

Obama campaigned very hard in the 51st state, the State of Idiocy, using ACORN “sound and lighting” consultants to get over…
State #52, the State of Confusion was swept for Obama when only Barry’s supporters showed up for the caucuses.
In our nation’s 53rd state, the State of Whitedenial, grandmothers were enslaved to wait at bus stops until they voted for Barry. Poor weather conditions were also blamed for the low turnout.
In states 54 and 55, the great States of Northern and Southern Rejection, the registrations of all people over 50 were successfully challenged thus allowing Barry to sweep his way onward.
#56 the State of Apoplexy experienced such intense anger statewide that only two mail-in votes were allowed, (both from some small town in Georgia.) So, based solely on Mssrs. Putin and Medvedev’s write-ins, Barry was nominated.
And finally in our nation’s 57th and most recent state, Heinz, die hard Kerry supporters, bamboozled by an attack of windsurfing Ketchup bottles, failed to make any impact in the voting, as usual, and the state fell to Obama by default.
It has just been announced however, that since all seven of these states have recently passed very strong anti-plagiarism laws, that neither Obama nor Biden can safely campaign there any longer. These states are now rated “Too close to call”

Legal experts think the ad is illegal and can’t be run under current statues. McCain can run the ad as is but the American Issues Project would have to alter it to run. 527 groups can only talk issues and not advocate for a candidate and this ad may have crossed that line. Fox News refused to run it for fear of legal liability.

Comment by Leisa | 2008-08-23 11:54:50

I think the character of a candidate is an issue… But then again, we can not legislate character.

Ziggy:

The envelope that you speak of that the Republicans are pushing contain legitimate questions pertaining to the character of the candidate that the Democrats hope to place in the White House. The question is “What kind of person should be the leader of the FREE WORLD?”

If your counter to that is that the Democrats will “open attacks on McCain’s judgement, emotional stability and mental acuity, featuring clips of all of his recorded misstatements, memory slips, angry outbursts, his bizarre performance”..etc, then bring it on. The American electorate somehow managed to look past those sorts of thing and elected G. W. Bush not once but twice (still scratching my head about that myself) with all of the attacks on his “judgement, emotional stability and mental acuity, featuring clips of all of his recorded misstatements, memory slips, angry outbursts, his bizarre performance”..etc.
Something tells me that if those insignificant points didn’t derail Bush four and eight years ago, I kind of doubt that taking that route will make Obama’s journey to the White House any easier.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 04:02:09

I don’t believe the Gore or Kerry campaigns attacked George W. Bush in that fashion. They took the high ground, stuck to the issues, and were the targets of such attacks.

Remember?

The ad is factual — the Weather Underground did terrorize America. They did a lot of harm — Ayers was one of the leaders — and Obama/Soetoro is a friend — they have ties and have been associated for a long time.

In fact the ad left out a whole lot of stuff that regular reader of NQ know by heart.

The American voters have a right to know about Obama/Soetoro’s friends and what he’s been doing with his life.

I hope this ad and others like it hits tv screens and radios — layer upon layer of Obama/Soetoro’s secrets laid bare!!!

Let the games begin.

PUMA!!!

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 03:43:15

Well, yeah, Obama and Ayers are friends.

And one of McCain’s closest personal friends is G. Gordon Liddy, who masterminded the break-in of the Democratic National Headquarters, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison for conspiracy, burglary, and illegal wire-tapping. Liddy also concocted a plot for the fire-bombing of the Brookings Institution in Washington DC, to destroy classified evidence and documents damaging to the Nixon administration that had been leaked by Daniel Ellsberg. He created a plot to kidnap anti-war protest organizers during the Republican National Convention and transport them to Mexico. All of this is proven.

Liddy was also accused by fellow convicted Watergate burgler Frank Strugis–a former CIA operative–of the assassination of Officer J. D. Tippet.

A best friend with a colorful past, I’d say. Should we draw any conclusions about John McCain from that association?

Comment by Sojourner | 2008-08-23 03:49:24

This is all known, water-under-the-bridge stuff. No surprises as McCain has been vetted for years. It’s one thing to throw in people’s faces stuff they already know and don’t care about, it’s another thing to actively try to cover up and hide your established relationships that got you where you are today. (Read: Ayers & Rezko and many, many others)

Comment by kgirl1028 | 2008-08-23 03:58:56

I’m with you. I can go online, and find anything out about McCain I want. Not so with obama, I have not like the secrecy around this man from the beginning. He reminds me too much of a second coming of Bush. Why people can’t see that I do not know, but I don’t trust a person who puts fake birth certificates on what is supposed to be a website of “facts” about themselves. He is one man I will never vote for and who must never get in the oval office. I don’t care what McCain has to do as long as it works. If obama wants to be trusted he must tell the truth and he has yet to do this, in ever turn you catch him in a lie.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 14:45:28

Water-under-the-bridge stuff?

Don’t you all keep repeating over and over that the company a person keeps defines that person’s character? That, you say, is why knowing Rev. Wright so long proves something about Obama. That’s why knowing Rezko proves Obama is a crook, and why knowing Ayres proves Obama is a terrorist sympathizer.

So, McCain is the long-time close friend of a felon convicted of conspiracy, wiretapping, and burglary; a guy who plotted to firebomb the Brookings Institution and kidnap peace activists; a guy who may have been involved in the assassination of an American president. But in this case the company a man keeps is totally irrelevant? It’s just water-under-the-bridge stuff?

You can’t have it both ways.

Ziggy: “A best friend with a colorful past, I’d say. Should we draw any conclusions about John McCain from that association?”

I think very few people are without a friend or family member with a checkered past. Senators Obama and McCain both have them.

The difference between McCain’s friendship with Liddy and Obama’s with Ayers is that Liddy hasn’t been an architect of McCain’s career. He hasn’t been there guiding, providing the funds, the career associations and positions and stepping stones to the state legislature, Senate and now a run for the White House. There’s a difference between a friend you play golf with and send a Christmas card to and one who has been a major player in bringing about your political career goals. The latter expect more than a Christmas card for their friendship.

McCain doesn’t change his position and view on issues on a whim, when it comes to being easily influenced by others, he isn’t. The same can’t be said about Obama. He takes on the views of whoever is in the room and when he moves onto the next room, he takes on those views. When put on the spot and he has to take a position and act on it, he chooses the one he owes the most favors to. Obama reminds me of the kid in front of the tv on Saturday morning, flooded with commercials for cereal. This week he absolutely has to have Captain Crunch, even though he’s reminded he hasn’t finished the boxes of Sugar Smacks, Fruit Loops and Frosted Flakes he had to have on previous Saturdays. Electing someone who is so easily influenced by the latest fad, opinion or marketing scheme and who owes favors to people like Ayers would be idiotic and dangerous.

What? How old was Obama when the Weather Underground was in operation?? You’re grasping at straws…and you don’t even realize it! You should be worried about McCain’s inane comments….not that Obama worked with a guy that just happened to have had a radical past. You guys need to check into Cindy McCain..and her family’s connection with the Bonanno crime syndicate…and why won’t she release her tax returns (especially since John seems to be living off her wealth). I’m sure you can dig up some real dirt there- and not have to dwell on these stupid evil fantasies you all seem to have about Obama.
You’re welcome.

It is obvious u didn’t take the time and watch the ad. Did you not read the article or the previous articles here? U don’t get to comment on something when don’t take the time to at least sound somewhat informed - armed with REAL info - not just from your daily KOS talking points, not just from the faux factcheck.org “I love me” Obama site - but, REAL information. Obama is friends with a real domestic terrorist. On 9/11, Ayers - in the midst of our nation’s mourning - said he wasn’t sorry and wishes he had done more. Obama’s campaign was kicked off at his buddy Ayer’s house. Obama is good friends with Ayers.
Have you ever heard the expression …”you are who your friend are”…
Cindy McCain isn’t running. Your idiot candidate has asked that spouses are off-limits. You shud abide by his terms of engagement.

Comment by Pink Panther | 2008-08-23 04:08:03

Cindy McCain: The Democratic Party rightfully was upset when in 2004 the Republicans went after Kerry’s wife’s tax records and questioned her wealth. Kerry’s wife never released her tax records.

Obama’s association with Ayers: It doesn’t matter what age Obama was when Ayers participated in the bombing of the Pentagon and waged war against the U.S. government. Obama made an adult decision to associate with Ayers. One is known by the company one keeps.

Obama said he wants Michelle off limits but you have no hesitation going after Cindy.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 04:17:55

Let’s consider the company John keeps. Let’s start with George W. Bush

That relationship is a bit hard to overlook.

Or are you sufficiently out of touch with political reality to assert that it doesn’t exist?

Comment by kgirl1028 | 2008-08-23 04:28:42

John McCain is in the same Party as President Bush who is his party leader. You know like how hillary has to hang out with Obama, even though she probably wants to beat his head in with a baseball bat. I don’t care for my boss, but hey we have to hang out together for the eight hours that I work, so i can get a pay check. But personal relationships are competely different. Obama chooses to hang out with these people, some of them he buys houses from at discounted prices so he can look the other way while they exploit minorities. Do you really wanna go there?

Comment by Sojourner | 2008-08-23 04:43:07

Duh, Bush is the sitting Republican president, of course there is a relationship there. If you ever picked up a newspaper you’d know that McCain has been the black sheep of the Republicans for quite some time now, hardly BFF’s with W.

As a registered Democrat, McCain is the only Republican I can stomach voting for and it’s because he had the “audacity” to reach across party lines and actually create legislature. He & Clinton (whether I agree with them or not) both had the scruples to take a stand on a particular issue AND ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOB AND VOTE ON THEM rather than vote “Present”.

***Leaders are defined by the decisions they make, not the consequences. That my friend, is Obama’s true problem with the electorate right now. He has no real record, no history, nothing for us to buy into except empty (yet noble) rhetoric.***

People all over the world join hands form a love train, love train.

Lord we don’t need another mountain, there are montains and foot hill’s enough to climb. what the world needs now is love sweet love.

I like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. I’d like to hold it in my arms and keep it company.

Think of your fellow man, give him a helping hand, put a little love in your heart.

WAR…huh…what is it good for …absolutely nothing!

Imagine there’s no heaven I wonder if you can.

Pink: While I disagree on the tax record comments, I agree with your point about Michelle/Cindy fair game, which in a way supports why I think the tax records should be released for full disclosure.

Now I respect that Cindy McCain’s business/enterprises are a separate entity from John McCain, an argument there I can live with when talking about keeping her records private. But when you have husband/wife “teams” like both the Obama’s AND Clinton’s, even though one spouse is not running for office I think then they both should be open to equal vetting as their professional careers/personal dealings become intertwined and relevant to establishing charachter and values.

Comment by Pink Panther | 2008-08-23 04:33:38

Sojourner,
Have you notice how ziggy dances all over the place when he can’t argue a position.

Talk about associations, Karl Rove said yesterday that Obama is using Rovian methods to win based on the advice given to Obama by Rove. Now that’s an association!

Obama is Bush 3. Ziggy, remember Obama supporting the Bush/Cheney oil bill, while Hillary and McCain did not support it? It made the oil and energy companies billions! Now that’s some association.

If spouses are open to scrutiny, the vetting of Michelle Obama will produce even more information for the American public to vote against Obama.

Comment by Sojourner | 2008-08-23 04:54:07

I agree, Michelle Obama is a walking landmine just waiting to go off.

As far as Obama/Rove goes, Rove aside, I think it’s been pretty clear that the DNC & Obama campaign have from the start been using Republican Electioneering Tactics 101.

The change that we are told we will be able to believe in is really just more of the same. It’s the same tactics, from Alice Palmer & Chicago to Nancy Pelosi’s PAC money buying superdelegate votes for Obama in districts and states that Clinton carried (remember Pelosi’s harping about how delegates should vote in respect to their constituencies - how hypocritical).

Um, hello, public funding/campaign reform for a more transparent election! It would be illogical for McCain to pass on the public funding as it was legislation he worked on and is partly responsible for.

It was “progressive legislature” that the “presumably progressive” presumptive nominee passed on. He threw away a key platform Democrats had been working towards for years.

It’s changes in core values/positioning like that from his base that will contribute to his falling out of favor with the Democratic electorate.

Obama is quite familiar with the unions in chicago. In fact, he actually took money from the the teachers unions in Chicago to run for office. Never mind the fact that that these teachers make sometimes six figured salaries and refuse to teach inner city black students for a full day. Obama even gave a speech to these kids and they begged him to see about getting them a full day of a school and he did zilch so he could keep their money. therefor if you don’t think he is lining his pockets as we speak you are a fool. McCain and his wife do actually charity work, they take in orphans, obama lives in warm and toasty house that he got from looking the other way when Rezko allowed black underprivileged children to live in filthy unsafe apartments with open sewage.

McCain should be ashamed? Hmm let’s see, wife bring home 2 kids from Bangladesh so they can have life saving operations and adopts one. His wife even created a foundation that continues to perform these operations He even receives flack for this back in the 2000 election saying the daughter is the product of a affair with a black woman. Obama takes money from a slum lords who allows massive gates to fall on small children riding their tricycles and then whines like a baby when someone wants to show his connection between him and Rezko. And for ever is saying “that’s not he Rezko, Pfleger, Rev Wright I know” I think not! Public finance was created after Watergate to keep down corruption. And in Obama’s case they definitely need it, the man is as corrupt as they come.

Comment by Yoly | 2008-08-23 05:09:45

Obama is a fraud. A liar. A conman. And liberals were so eager to nominate a black man, that they overlooked it all. Obama has consistently lied when questioned about Wright, Ayers, Rezko, infanticide, etc., etc. Those are the facts. Look at how he handled Wright. From minimizing it, to “Gee…I didn’t know he said things like that”, to that ridiculous speech throwing his grandmother under the bus, to finally leaving the church! lol. The Democrats did not vet this guy. He has risen so far and so fast based on his ability to give stirring speeches and the color of his skin. How pathetic.

Obama’s entire life has been spent FAR out of the mainstream USA. That he was able to become the nominee shows you how far to the left the Democrat party has gone. That Joe Lieberman is treated as an outcast (and will speak at the GOP convention) is another sign.

It is time for the Democrats to wake up and move away from the hard left and the radicals and move more toward the mainstream/the center. Then they will be able to nominate someone who most Americans can relate to and believe in.

Comment by doctorwang | 2008-08-23 04:10:27

He’s lived a life of luxury- and he’s got the audacity to call Obama an elitist? Rezko, Wright? Check out his pal Keating and how many elderly pensioners got screwed because McCain helped to delay the investigation into that SOB’s dealings. He is not “one of us”, if he went to 3rd grade in America he would know we don’t have 57 States, and he would be able to bowl. Those first years of your life teach you about everything about your culture, that is why he can’t connect, he is a outsider.

Does Obama have any firm policies for his first term at all? Is there any topic that he hasn’t already flip-flopped on at least once? And as far as plans go, I’ve yet to see or hear much from the Obama camp on what plans they have to get the nation back on the right track. Q. Who did you vote for?

A. The black candidate for president.

Comment by kgirl1028 | 2008-08-23 04:49:27

Definitely Paris. She wouldn’t be much of a president, but the inaugurations would be quite stylish. She might even be able to do something for the economy, I mean she is loaded, get a few of her financial consults in there and who knows. She probably would want to redo the flag too. I’m thinking black would make the white stars, POP more than blue, and don’t forget we need to add those eight extra stars, and should we keep the red strips or should we go for another color like mauve or hot pink?

*just joking*

If he was white he wouldn’t have made it this far. The reason he has made it this far is in thanks to the Media. He is the media darling for one reason and one reason only…Barack Obama makes for a better STORY. Nothing to do with substance, experience or anything else. The media did an outstanding job of turning a presidential primary into a 50 state edition of Tiger Beat.

I do appreciate Obama’s message though, there’s just too much at stake right now. In four to eight years, after he has real congressional experience under his belt, that I could begin to contemplate his earning my vote.

Anyone paying attention could have predicted this. Either the DNC is a ship of fools or they are in bed with the Republicans to destroy the Clintons. Some women take their vows of marriage seriously. They don’t divorce because times get a little tough and their spouse is caught playing cigars with an intern. While I’m not a woman who considers marriage such an important sacrament that I’d never act on divorce in certain circumstances, I don’t demean or look down on women who have decided to stand by their vows and not divorce.

I also don’t agree with infidelity. But I understand where infidelity is concerned, so much more is involved than sex and people who live exemplary lives, have successful careers, make sound decisions professionally and will return a dime if a clerk gives them too much change, do on occasion find themselves involved in an affair. If people deal with emotional dysfunction in their lives by having an affair, it’s none of my business as long as the affair doesn’t effect their professional life negatively and impact me. If a president wants to chase consenting, of age interns around the Oval Office during his free time, it’s not effecting his performance as president, it’s none of my business. If the First Lady want to divorce him - good for her, if she wants to keep her marriage - good for her too.

This is an excellent ad and all of it is factual. Ayers is a bonafide terrorist who declared war on the US. This sick bastard set bombs off all over the country. The only good the WU did was kill 3 of their own scum while their bombs inadvertenly exploded in one of their parents townhomes in NY. Those bombs were intended to kill dozens of military personnel.

Ayers should have been executed but got off on a technicality. I find it ironic that we spend so much money and lives fighting terrorists around the world and this jackass Obama has been embracing a terrorist for 20 years. Obama has had a close friendship and working relationship with Ayers that would normally end any other politician’s career so why is Obama still in politics?

What is wrong with the backbone of the Democratic politicians who failed to step forward and denounce Obama for these radical relationships? The American people deserve better. Are these babies afraid someone will call them racists if they oppose Obama? I am waiting for someone in that party to stand up and call Obama out and refuse to support him. The rest of us who have the courage to oppose Obama get called racist everyday but we don’t fold our tents and fall in line — we know we are just being called racists by a bunch of snotnosed racists because they are afraid they may not get their way.

Comment by Yoly | 2008-08-23 05:21:53

Where were you when Bill Clinton pardoned the Weather Underground members that were convicted?
Ayres wasn’t convicted of anything…..

Let’s ask John McMansion about the Keating 5, now that’s a real story.

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-08-23 05:59:05

Dumbass, do you even know who Ayers is? Do you know the story of how he got off? Why don’t you spend some time understanding who your crappy candidate has been mentored by. Where were you when Ayers was setting off bombs and trying to start a revolution? Probably not even born yet. Pull your head out of your ass.

Keating 5? Is that the best you can counter with, pulling out an old chestnut that carries no weight? Pathetic.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 17:37:03

In 1969 Bill Ayers helped blow up a statue dedicated to police casualties of the 1886 Haymarket Riot. The statue was put up a second time in 1970, so they blew it up again. The statue was then put up a third time and placed under 24-hour police guard. Only pigeons have bombed it since.

Apart from symbolically blowing up a statue, the only other thing Ayers or his associates blew up was themselves. Those who were killed undoubtedly intended more. There was a lot of anger toward the government. National guardmen were shooting down unarmed student anti-war protestors on college campuses, you may recall, and government figures on the right were openly expressing their approval. It was a very turbulent time.

Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn were fugitives for years. Federal charges against them were finally dropped due to prosecutorial misconduct.

Ayers has led a productive life for nearly 30 years. He’s a Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Education.

Comment by Pink Panther | 2008-08-23 18:01:11

ziggy: Are you attempting to rewrite history or do you truly not read? Are you a propagandist? Do you really believe what you write or are you just bored with life and this is how you get your kicks?

In 1969, Ayers and his wife convened a War Council to launch a military front in the US to help Third World revolutionaries conquer and destroy America. They referred to America as “Amerikkka” and wanted to create chaos and destruction within this country.

Ayers summed up the organization’s ideology as, “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and aprtments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents.”

In Ayers’ book Fugitive Days, he states he participated in the bombings of the New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, the Capitol building in 1971 and the Pentagon in 1972. He said that of the day he bombed the Pentagon, the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.

Ayers said he doesn’t regret the bombs and felt they didn’t do enough.

( Source: discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2169)

If you believe the above events are “symbolic,” you need to re-evaluate your ethics and morals and check the definition of terrorist.

Comment by ziggy | 2008-08-23 18:26:41

In moral terms, how do you think a squad of National Guardsmen openning fire on anti-war protesters on a college campus compares with blowing up a statue?

Ayers was a radical, but they only destroyed property. That was wrong. But not as wrong as what the government they were opposing was doing.

If you were a kid then, the government could grab you, put you into uniform, and send you halfway around the world to kill people or be killed in a war to didn’t believe in. If you protested the police sometimes beat you. They sometimes tear-gassed you. They sometimes imprisoned you. Sometimes you got shot down by the National Guard.

The estimate of Vietnamese civilian dead resulting from U.S. involvement in their civil war ranges from a low of 500,000 to a high of 2,000,000. How do you define that?

Then…”we must change the system, to restore the balance”, is the chant. Hillary lost, you’re not doing anything to help her. She looked like she was about to cry today when she got the news she wasn’t even vetted. Oh, but…”I’m already vetted…by the Republicans”. Just wait till the Republicans releases an ad in Obamas own words how he would disarm America of its nukes, and with the term oil of the world and Russia, becoming more of a threat to the world, they will focus on Obama living in a fairyland, that there will be open arms awaiting the American people and radical terrorist embracing us with love and stability for the world. They will focus more on the wrong judgment to disarm and to protect the American people. Life is not a fairytale to risk so many lives on the belief that terrorist can be trusted. NObama.

After the light dawned and I saw how great Hillary was (there was no going back of course)I decided to keep the BO email just to try and keep tabs on what the bots were being told. Today I got an invitation trying to get people to sign up for Obama Camp here in Tx. Wonder if that would be interesting and of any value in de-railing his campaign? What do you all think of going to BO camp and finding out first hand what goes on?

I don’t have any illusions about her winning at the corrupt convention in Denver. McCain 08,Hillary 12, God speed. The dems will have 4 years to clean up the Ohuhbama,Dean and Pelosi dirt bags.

So can we knock him out of advertising since he does not have a U.S. birth certificate that is valid, Senator Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barrack Hussein Obama?

So, the first amendment of free speech and press does not apply and they have to have a EIN from IRS and other requirements to add press?

What an idiot campaign.

Bill & Barack’s Excellent Adventure
By Thomas Lifson

http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/08/bill_baracks_excellent_adventu.html

(BTW it acknowledges Steve Diamond’s excellent work!!).

I also read yesterday on FoxNews that UIC will grant access to the files. I am sure they will not do anything before or while the DNC convention. That’s really too bad…

Comment by PGHGal | 2008-08-23 11:53:58

Oh great! We are reduced to references from the conservative American Think and Faux Noise. That says it all.

I am amazed at how many front page screen shots on this blog are videos or comments from Faux Noise. Scraping the bottom of the barrell…

It’s hard to understand why Ayers didn’t go to prison. If I recall his wife got some favorable plea deal also. Wonder if someone who writes blog for No Quarter could educate us on how they got away with this? For example could it related to his father’s wealth and political ties? And how the heck did they get hired by the Universities they work for and be let anyone close to our young people? And how did they get approved to adopt the son of one of their Weather Underground buddies (who went to jail)? Why weren’t we protected by our government better from reputed terrorists because his legacy since he’s been free seems dangerous for democracy, our education system and our children?

Comment by Linda C. | 2008-08-23 10:55:02

This is a post 9/11 world. The republicans have been saying that. So given this is the case, will the American public be more concerned about an unrepentant domestic terrorist or the Keating 5?

Since the economy is the issue again in this election, will the American public be more concerned about Rezko leaving the poor children and elderly in Chicago without heat or the Keating 5?

Given international issues and the problems occurring..Is it going to be Obama’s 4 successive statements on the Russia/Georgia crisis or the Keating 5?

Considering urban gang violence is out of control with random murders of innocent people..Obama voted against increased penalties for gang related violence since it would “unfairly target minorities”..excuse me Senator, but is where the crimes are occurring and minorities are usually the victims of random drive by shootings, ..or the Keating 5?

Comment by VinceP1974 | 2008-08-23 11:07:49

If one has never seen the docu on the Weather Underground, you must.

I was born in 74, so in Ayers being a terrorist was sort of an abstract thing for me to know.

Having seen this video, it’s clear how evil these poeple were. Please watch it

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1847524043861152897&ei=RTWwSOjCFImM_AHkrumEDQ&q=weather+underground&hl=en

even the first thee minutes will be enough to be totally repulsed

Does anyone know where this ad is up and running? Is it actually being run in markets, or just on the cable TV loop?

Comment by Retired | 2008-08-23 11:24:25

You know, I’ve been thinking, since Bill Ayers is such a distinguished educator from an influential family, and since he and Obama have worked so closely on important education efforts such as the Annenberg Challenge, wouldn’t Bill Ayers be a good candidate for Secretary of Education under an Obama administration? We could programatically teach our children to use Ayers as an example of how to behave. A great idea, what do Obama supporters think?

Comment by TeakwoodKite | 2008-08-23 12:31:42

Retired; The poster, PGHGal, just below answers your question as to “what do Obama supporters think”…

They have eyeballs to see only in the anatomical sense.

The Hill Abduction- OR said another way…”Dean’s 50 state strategy”

At least BO and Biden have one thing in common…They both say “ummmm” a whole bunch.

Comment by PGHGal | 2008-08-23 11:50:31

Larry, you have ZERO credibility. For weeks we heard about the WHITEY tape with promises of evidence every day. Then, it was the BIRTH CERTIFICATE, which was thoroughly debunked at Factcheck.org http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html.

Stop! This is getting embarrassing, not just for you, but your kool aid drinking followers on this site.

Comment by Buzz Latte | 2008-08-23 12:56:25

Gal…you are so indoctrinated you don’t know who owns factcheck.org. Yup, your in a loop of information, each segment protecting the other segment.

Now go away and try to come up with some better taunts.

Obama Indoctrination Talking Point #7:

“And if they call you Kool-Aid Drinkers, here’s what to do: Call THEM Kook-Aid Drinkers right back! This lets them know in very clear terms that you are intellectually more mature.”

You’re a Kool-Aid drinker.

Uh-uhhhhhhh! YOU’RE a Kool-Aid drinker!!

See how mature it makes you sound?

Comment by Sojourner | 2008-08-23 13:49:27

“Then, it was the BIRTH CERTIFICATE, which was thoroughly debunked at Factcheck.org”

Um, I wouldn’t go hearlding Factcheck.org as the end-all be-all in respect to “credibility”, especially seeing as how it is owned by the Annenberg PPC, of which Obama worked for and is yet another connection to terrorist Bill Ayers.

Comment by Perry Logan | 2008-08-23 13:33:48

They can’t write songs. They can’t pick a Presidential candidate. That’s all there is to it.

Comment by anon | 2008-08-23 15:09:27

The kids weren’t the ones who totally screwed things up, were they? They’re not the ones who run up the debts and start the wars and tell the lies and pass on the hatreds from generation to generation. Young people often see straight to the root of a thing. They see what’s totally obvious. Older people have learned how to hide the truth, even from themselves. Young people know instinctively, for example, that the men who make wars that kill children are evil. Older people seldom think about what war actually means. They have reasons, explanations, rationalizations, moral justifications. They compartmentalize, allowing them to ignore the disturbing fact that being at war is now America’s normal state of affairs. Times of peace have become the exceptions.

Comment by Zeke | 2008-08-23 17:05:24

Well, I tell ya what there asswipe… you go roll over on your back and kick you legs in the air and pray the dogs of war don’t eat your balls, but I think I’ll elect a president who will keeps those dogs where they belong… in someone else’s yard.

How can we capture BinLaden if we keep sheltering the Ayers? I think he is more dangerous then the outside terrorists. He is here under our nose. Can anybody guaranty, he won’t repeat his ” bombing” again? Maybe Barry Soetoro will help him to do so. Keep the picture of him in fron of your eyes, when the American anthem was playing. That was the first thing, that revolted me against him.

Comment by Retired | 2008-08-23 15:50:55

President Obama is going to appoint Ayers as Secretary of Education. School kids will be standing on the flag instead of pledging allegiance to it. And grabbing your crotch will become the new salute during the National Anthem, replacing putting your hand over your heart. That is the change that Obama supporters are hoping for.

Monet said…

“Some women take their vows of marriage seriously. They don’t divorce because times get a little tough and their spouse is caught playing cigars with an intern.”

Hilarious again.

Anyone who thinks Hillary “standing by her man” wasn’t 100% pure political calculation is delusional.

I’m not a fan of her at all, but would have had some real respect for her if she’d dropped papers on him once he was out of office.

I’m a libertarian-conservative who’s not keen on McCain, but absolutely voting for him. However I’ve been saying for nearly for a years that, if a Dem had to win, better Hillary than Obama because a)she does possess a certain real toughness, b) we know what her views really are (and know enough to know when she’s blowing smoke), c) like Bill, those perhaps less naturally, she’d be willing to cut deals if only for triangulating purposes and d)where there was real disagreement she could be more forthrightly opposed by Repubs in Congress, where with Obama any opposition will be dismissd as racist.

what a think tank this place is:

“if we cannot win the election on the issues because we screwed up the economy, let Bin Laden go free, murdered thousands of innocent people all over the world, illegally invaded a sovereign nation, tortured innocent people, and since our candidate is 100% un-inspiring - lets try and make up stories about the inspiring candidate.”

in the words of your hero - “Get a life”. What is the conclusion of your scare tactic - do you really believe that Obama is running for president so he can bomb the White House ?

Vote for change- take a risk, you’ll feel better.

has anybody bothered to understand why ayers and his group did the things they did? I’m not at condoning it, but does anybody remember the Vietnam war and the BS our government did? Of course, the 8 yr old Obama was obviously right in the thick of these ideals according to America Issues Project people. And heaven forbid his work on a LEFTIST board…that was specifically helping the poor. Anybody notice that this ad is absolutely illegal per Mccain’s own law?! I guess the old boys network keeps Mccain’s former campaign buddy from Iowa from getting in trouble. I am looking forward to any kind of change that moves America away from BUSH/MCCAIN upper-class ideals. How many people in this country make 5 mill or even have that much in their portfolio!? He is completely out of touch with today’s America
