“Passed Over” at 3 a.m.

Need a reason to stay up tonight? The WSJ has a tidbit for you insomniacs.

No sooner had Barack Obama publicly announced his new running mate had John McCain’s campaign produced an attack ad asking: Why not Hillary?

“Passed Over” will hit the airwaves at (you guessed it) 3 a.m. Sunday. The timing is a reference to Hillary Clinton’s national security ad during the Democratic primary and the same time the Obama campaign sent out its text message announcing Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden as the vice-presidential nominee.

It sounds like a fairly typical attack ad - using Clinton’s arguments against Obama now that she is campaigning for him.

But it still sounds like fun. After all, Obama has done NOTHING to win over many of her supporters. If he had, this ad wouldn’t exist.

It is excellent, they should play it every hour of the day, just goes to show if the Democrats cant appreciate what they have well it serves them right for the Republicans to make political mileage off of the chosen ones blunders.

Lisa,

The best way for McCain to win over Clinton supporters is to air Obama’s dirty laundry in the way she was treated by his campaign during the primaries.

So many of his supporters have no clue about the shenanigans that went on, but the Republicans have quietly watched and filed all of the ammo they need.

I smell a VP offer for Hillary yet. Wouldn’t that be ironic?

Comment by PewL | 2008-08-24 00:15:06

Maybe thats what Hillary’s friend Geraldine Ferraro meant, that Country comes first over Party’s when sean Hannity From Fox asked her who she was voting for>

Hillary Mccain sounds fine in my books..Clinton’s have been disrespected by the Democrats, time to move on,for the sake of America.

Clintons were the best for this country in the 90’s,That’s the kind of change people need back.

Comment by Ai1een | 2008-08-24 00:37:09

Leisa - You are 100% CORRECT. McCain camp needs to make their own spoof of the New York Times editorial “Low Road to Victory” in which they cite one by one all the dirty lies and xhit they threw at the Clintons. To do that would kill MANY birds with one stone - Obama, the NYTimes, Clyburn, Dean, Pelosi, etc.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-08-24 04:06:23

If I had to chose one article from this long horror show that enraged me the most, that one would be very near the top of my list.

It wasn’t only the outrageous fraudulent content, it wasn’t only the timing of it - dead on the heels of her PA win - which was ignored, it was for me that I read the NYT throughout my life.

That was the last straw. My own bus has a whole lotta stuff that I threw under it this year.

THE NY Times has lost all credibility this year, as they have done several times in the past.

ob killed the NYT when their editorial board (many of whom are republicans) decided to kill off Hillary and just starting making chit up.

There was an article back in February or March with the bio’s on the Caucus staff authors.

It was no surprise obamacans and repubs were in charge. The pro-clinton comments were heavily moderated and yet they allowed constant utter non-sense and nasty lies from obots with fake names and an ulterior motive.

Screw the NYT. I stuck around and fought the smears through it all - until that “low road” hit piece appeared in glorious black and white.

Comment by Steve | 2008-08-24 03:19:48

What’s funny is how many of his small donors are donating 62.37, and other amounts that have cents attached. Why not $50 even, or $25 even?

The answer is : These donations are OVERSEAS currency converted into dollar/cent amounts. Foreign donations are illegal. Obama’s fundraising can’t stand up to even casual observation, and it’s infuriating that the FEC hasn’t seized his records.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-08-24 04:24:44

How are the GA for Gaza votes going. Ironic isn’t it that Georgia and Russia thing too.

BATUMI, Georgia (AP) — A U.S. Navy warship carrying humanitarian aid for Georgia has anchored in the southern Georgian port of Batumi.

The arrival of the guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul on Sunday is a strong signal of support for an embattled ally.

The McFaul is loaded with 72 pallets of humanitarian aid, and is also outfitted with an array of weaponry, including Tomahawk cruise missiles. It’s the first of five American ships scheduled to arrive this week with supplies.

Their arrival comes after a partial withdrawal of Russian military forces from Georgia following days of warfare earlier this month. The conflict has brought Russian-U.S. relations to a post-Cold War low.

U.S. Air Force flights that have brought in more than 1 million pounds of humanitarian relief.

What is next? Will a spokesman for ob tell us he played game “battleship” as a child so he has all the diplomatic and strategic command experience he needs to lead?

He HAS made similar claims before, so I wouldn’t put it past them.

It is a dangerous world, experience and character loom large. ob doesn’t make the cut.

I tell ya, I would LOVE to see Hill and McCain team up!
Can you imagine the debates with the 4 of them going at it? LOL!

I’ve actually grown to like McCain. almost to the point I want to see he and Hillary have a turn at the WH. If he only wanted one term and took Hill, she could be the first female vp AND Pres. TALK ABOUT MAKING HISTORY!!!!

I truly hope if she’s shut out at the convention that McCain at least offers it to her. JUST to see what she would say.

Comment by Ai1een | 2008-08-24 00:43:11

Hey -
If the McCain camp was really smart on on target they should at least VET Hillary Clinton and make it VERY PUBLIC that you’re vetting her. That alone will ENDEAR McCain to MILLIONS of Clinton supporters.

Remember when Obama surreptitiously gave Hillary the bird during his speech in Raleigh, NC? Well - right back at ya - Obama Bin Biden.

The most perfect Dream Team ever! What a way to get rid of Partisan politics! This would be such a ballsy move by McCain and Hillary that they would not only gather the support of Real Americans (you know, not Far Left or Far Right} but what a message of HOPE and CHANGE to the entire world…they are both two great Americans who really do work their hearts out for this country, wouldn’t it be nice to have that type of leadership in the White House? It might even inspire a whole generation. Words are one thing, but ACTIONS do speak so much louder than words.

Alot of military men are like that. They are used to talking manly with the guys, but treat their women with the utmost respect at home and in civilian life. Many military men know that they could not serve without the women keeping the home fires burning while they are away!

McCain has been very respectful of Hillary, even hsi speech after Obama claimed to be the presumed nominee, he mentioned how she had not been treated with the respect she deserved.

DrWanger,
It occurred to me that the main reason we Clinton and McCain supporters aren’t worried about Roe vs wade being overturned, is 1. With all the modern medical progress, if a woman who truly respects her body somehow misuses one of her hundreds of available birth control options, she can call her Gyno and get a morning after pill. 2. Clinton supporters strike me as the type of women who are smart enough to know all this.
Try another talking point.

I didn;t.

Are they any cases in the pipeline challenging Roe V Wade.

Nope.

8 years of Bush - Roe V Wade still stands.

Why don’t you look up the role of the legislative branch before you start whining about reproductive rights, mmmmmkay?

That threat doesn’t work–IF you know how your government works…and you, apparently, DO NOT.

The President does NOT make law. The CONGRESS does.

He doesn’t APPROVE Supreme Court Justices–he only NOMINATES them. The Senate has the FINAL SAY, and the Senate CAN say NO (ask Robert Bork, you nitwit).
You’re another one of those fucking dunces who thinks that a President is like a King….because you are, we see from your comments, a CHILD LEFT BEHIND.

Now, if George Bush couldn’t change the paradigm in eight years with a GOP advantage on the Hill, what makes you think McCain is going to do it with a DEMOCRATIC Congress in place?

Another feather in the cap of the man who thought a $200 million blank check for Iran was a good idea. I’m not being cute with the headline, either. One Iraqi pol, among several from various sects interviewed by Reuters who sneered at Greasy Joe’s partition “solution,” actually credits him with drawing Sunnis and Shia together through their mutual loathing of his idea.

Across racial and religious boundaries, Iraqi politicians on Saturday bemoaned Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama’s choice of running mate, known in Iraq as the author of a 2006 plan to divide the country into ethnic and sectarian enclaves…

Ezzet al-Shabender, a member of parliament from the secularist Iraqi List of former prime minister Ayad Allawi, actually credited the broad-based disgust triggered by Biden’s proposal for helping Iraqi politicians bury their differences.

“His project was the reason behind the unity of many political blocs that once differed in viewpoints,” he said, comparing it to the Balfour Declaration, a 1917 British note that backed the creation of Israel and is regarded across the Arab world as the ultimate colonial injustice.

“Such a person, if he would assume the vice-presidency post, would not serve to improve Iraq-USA relations.”

Coming soon: Biden unites the U.S. and Iran by proposing a Taliban state in western Afghanistan. In fairness, the Reuters piece doesn’t prove that his plan is wrong — but then Nuri al-Maliki saying he preferred a 16-month time frame for withdrawal didn’t prove that that was the right answer either back when Obamites were swooning over his Spiegel interview a few weeks ago. Just bear this in mind the next time you hear someone intoning about the wizard of Wilmington. Oh, and bear this in mind too: To the extent that public consensus has settled on the notion that the war was wrong but the surge was right, Biden will be the one and only candidate among the final four who’ll have voted wrong on both. Genius indeed.

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-08-23 23:40:36

Comment by TwoTermObama | 2008-08-23 23:42:07

I think I’ll propose an ad idea to the Obama campaign myself. A montage of creepy John McCain smirks and those laughs of his, which look more like epileptic fits than reactions to something amusing. A nice medley of making disgusting jokes about HOW UGLY CHELSAE CLINTON IS, HOW WOMEN ENJOY BEING RAPED, BOMBING IRANIAN CIVILIANS, FEMALE VICTIMS OF THE TALIBAN, IED’S AND MORE.
Then end with, “Hillary Clinton doesn’t support this barely walking on two legs barbarian, why should her supporters?”

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-08-23 23:45:10

You refer to a war veteran as a barbarian? The only barbarian in this race is Barack Obama, who attended a God Damn America church wherein wild heathens cheer as Reverend Wright humped the altar and ridiculed Bill Clinton.

Comment by Observer | 2008-08-23 23:50:01

Truthteller, admit it, if Obama had made jokes like this, about Hillary’s only daughter, or how women like rape, you fucking hypocrites would be ready to lynch him yourselves, Jim Crow style.

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-08-23 23:51:55

I know Obama did rely on sexist tropes during the primary. And his surrogates in the media regularly resorted to sexism in order to invalidate the only qualified candidate for the Presidency. This explains why many of us will not support him, for he and his supporters are rabid sexists.

Comment by Observer | 2008-08-24 00:03:24

Truthteller, what an utter hypocrite you are, and yes, that’s a word that gets thrown around a lot here, by BOTH sides. Fact of the matter is that BOTH campaigns resorted to identity politics, and yes, sexism AND racism reared their ugly heads. But as a 30-something white woman with a degree in Sociology and Gender Studies, I can honestly say that while the media may have actively perpetuated sexist stereotypes, I did not feel that Obama the man himself did. I cannot say the same for Hillary Clinton and her transformation from a Harlem ghetto slummer with Bill, to a trailer trash queen who enjoys nothing more than throwing back shots with Indiana rednecks at the local hole. Spin it anyway you want, but “I am the candidate who can get the working votes…WHITE votes..” just ain’t too fucking ambiguous. Someone as smart as Hillary KNEW what kind of weight that statement had. And of course, we now know from the memos that Hillary’s campaign was instructed to, “Contest the black vote at every turn…keep him pinned there.” Uh-huh. Indeed.

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-08-24 00:05:19

You fail to understand that the Obama campaign resorted to sexism and misogyny for electoral gain. Because I do not aid and abet such activities, I will not vote for him. And this is unfortunate, for I am a Democrat in Ohio.

Comment by Observer | 2008-08-24 00:22:17

I disagree with you, Truthteller. Are you even a woman? I am AND I’m a feminist. I didn’t see the sexism you’re talking about. Do you even know what the word misogyny means? It’s okay if you don’t; it’s one of those annoyingly over used words that most folks first encounter in some esoteric Gender Studies 101 undergrad course but never really understand. It means “Hatred of women.” Not merely “stereotypes about women” but actual “Hatred.” To accuse Senator Obama of HATING women is absurd. He’s by every account a loving father and husband and has a 100% rating with every pro-choice group under the sun. He has also spoken and written lovingly about his mother and grandmother as well as other women in his life. To accuse him of HATING WOMEN is nothing but a republican style LIE.

Now, do I think the Obama campaign could’ve stepped up to the plate and intervened when they heard Chris Matthews et al making cruel sexist jokes about Hillary? Yes, I do. At the time I didn’t even know they were beign told as I don’t watch cable and don’t see most network news unless it winds up on youtube. On the other hand, I believe the Hillary not only passively observed racism in the media, but that she actively perpetuated it as well. Do I think she’s really a racist at the end of the day? No, but I DO think she’s a political machine who will do just about anything to get elected, even if that means playing into white racial anxieties about a black man.

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-08-24 00:24:56

And on a personal note - it’s really tacky to “degree drop” in order to try and back up your posts and it’s in vein (or in your case “vain”) for whether you have 2 degrees or not - it’s blatantly obvious to everyone here that you’re ignorant and you’re wrong…PERIOD and you have NEVER been a true feminist - that’s for damn sure.

Obama was the first to play the race card in South Carolina. He wasn’t getting 90% of the black vote until he started using the words Malcolm X and Louis Farrakhan used to incite black crowds for years, HOODWINKED, BAMBOOZELED and OKIE-DOKE. Most were too young to remember Malcolm but they all saw the Movie. Obama started spouting these words to black crowds, he was telling them he was “Black Enough”, he was down with Farrakhan and Malcolm. This went right over the heads of most white folks, but the black folks understood what Obama was saying.

Speaking as a 30 something black female without a degree let me tell you how disgusted I am by the tactics of this feckless wonder and his campaign and the DNC who ALL used the black voters to get where they are!

Obama hasn’t done 1 damn thing to prove himself worthy of holding that office, he is there because he’s a black man who can get some of you whites to vote for him. And it has NOTHING to do with his “qualifications” since he has none!

And what do you have to say, SISTAH, when entire threads are devoted to how much Michelle Obama looks like Aunt Esther and King Kong?!?? YOU are the epitome of “eat your own.” And BTW, what the fuck has princess puma done for your people or ANY people for that matter?

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-08-24 01:36:03

The only proof that the Whitey Tape was a lie was Obama’s word which is worth exactly nothing. LJ never claimed to have the tape or know who did. What we do know about this DVD is there were 50 copies, all bought up and discovered by Giuliani’s oppo team. It was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago, specifically the women’s panel.

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.

Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. She personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this.

That’s pretty specific for a HOAX. This is only credible as word of mouth, because of other questionable comments Michelle has made and the 20 year attendance of the Obamas at TUCC. But the story just retold here is more believable than the Obama cover-up that she said, “Why d’he?” Now, I suggest you go off to a corner and lick your crotch; it will calm your fevered brain. And hang tight for the Whitey Tape.

You better get a f—— grip and calm the hell down.

Trist and other Black Hillary supporters on this blog know about the racism that went on during the primary.

We ALSO know about the BLATANT sexism that has transpired.

And the sexism has been FAR more consistent in this race than the racism!

But neither race nor gender drove Black Hillary supporters to vote for her.

Hillary was - IS - the most experienced & most qualified Democratic frontrunner. And even with her faults, she still has the best character of the three leading candidates that ran this year. Obama, however, falls miserably short in all of those areas. Which is why we will NOT vote for him.

And for the record, I’m quite sure that it never occured to your dumbass that Black women face BOTH demons - racism AND sexism - every damn day. I’m also quite sure that you don’t have a fuckin’ clue of what it’s like to walk in a “sistah’s” shoes. So you better check yourself before you go running off at the mouth about something you know absolutely NOTHING about.

Just have a guy in white sheets holding a burning cross on screen and have the announcer say:

“If you question Obama you are a racist”
“If you criticize Obama you are a racist”
“If you vote against Obama you are a racist”

Then have Jeremiah Wright pull off his Hood and Scream while waving the burning cross wildly:

“God Damn America!”

That would be the 15 second spot.

They could eve make a longer version with Bill Ayers coming on screen as a special guest and stomping on the flag as he waves a homemade bomb around screaming “Kill Your Parents!”

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-24 03:29:48

The ad is all about OBAMA, not McCain.

The ad is saying that a jealous, selfish, stupid jerk, Obama, was so DUMB and snippy and snotty that he didn’t even know enough to pick the best running mate–because she called him on his bullshit, and he couldn’t handle it.

If he’s that dumb in the political strategy arena, how stupid will he be in the national defense, national security, economic programs and progress, and ‘general management of the nation’ arenas?

That’s what you take away from the ad–NOT that McCain wants her on HIS ticket. He doesn’t, and she wouldn’t.

He’s going to pick some conservative. Hopefully not Romney–if that’s the case, crazyass Ancient Ross Perot may as well jump in…or Mike Bloomberg! A real three way race (fully funded) could have a surprise ending.

Assuming you are serious, this shows how imature your understanding of politics and the political process is. Which is what is so frightening about many of obama’s ardent young supporters…they are being used without understanding what game is being played and what total pawns and tools they are.

All McCain has to do is Ask Clinton after the roll call vote to meet with him and his stock goes through the roof. He doesnt even have to ask her and she doesnt have to turn it down.

This ad is gong to be devestating.

But just by bringing it up he engenders appreciation from the really mad clinton supporters wha are not getting respect from their own party. Thats devestating for Obamarosa aka ObaMe!Me!Me!

I guess you are talking to me. Sorry to have sounded like an Obama supporter.

I was sort of trying to imply that McCain will ask her. Because as one poster above pointed out, it is a delicate dance.

I was thinking if he didn’t pick her for VP he would pick her for something else. But that too may backfire.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-24 00:40:00

As much as it would be hilarious and down right gratifying, because of their base and their positions there is no real possibility that McCain and Hillary would join on a ticket…or is there.

If the Media can push pee wee herman as the next president i suppose anything is possible.

And apologies if i was to harsh with my analysis but i was framing it in terms of an obama supporter claiming if McCain brings up hillary but doesnt ask her then puma will vote obama. Thats going to get played after this ad airs by the koolaid freaks…wait and see. It was not meant to be directed at you personally.

Comment by Kelley | 2008-08-24 00:59:29

no I’m more thinking that it will give ammo against McCain. Just worried about that. PUMA won’t ever go back to Obama.

You know we have a two party system, right? Soretoes and Senator Clinton are Democrats (at least as we speak) and Senator McCain is a Republican. While stranger things have certainly happened, I think that the Republican party would have a significant problem nominating Hillary as a VP …

OK Bots. Now it starts to get interesting.

A son and a brother of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) are accused in two lawsuits of defrauding a former business partner and an investor of millions of dollars in a hedge fund deal that went sour, court records show.

A lawsuit filed by their former partner Anthony Lotito Jr. asserts in court papers that the deal was crafted to get Hunter Biden out of lobbying because his father was concerned about the impact it would have on his bid for the White House. Biden was running for the Democratic nomination at the time the suit was filed.

Hunter Biden was made president with an annual salary of $1.2 million, despite his inexperience in the hedge fund industry, the lawsuit said. Before that, he had been part of the Washington law firm Oldaker, Biden & Belair, which earned $1.76 million in lobbying revenue in the first half of 2006, according to Congressional Quarterly’s CQ MoneyLine. One of its biggest clients is the National Association of Shareholder and Consumer Attorneys, a District-based group representing law firms specializing in investment and corporate law.

The rethugs have gotta love how this election is really all about Obama. It puts the major spotlight on democrats and all their little scandals come out. You haven’t seen too many for Republicans, have you. Even that Alaskan Senator being indicted was overshadowed by Edwards scandal. If the dems would nominate Clinton, you’d see the scandals of the republicans, but since apparently it is the dems self destruction year (in a year they should have owned lock, stock and barrel), they are under more scrutiny. Nice.

ToTermObama,

Maybe I’ll suggest to the McCain Campaign that they grab some of the clips of Obama campaigning in Kenya in 2006 for his cousin Odinga, who ran on a platform to install shiria law in Kenya. Sharia law is a fundementalist islamic legal system that is extremely misogynistic and vurtually enslaves women and girls. A sound bite of this will shake american women away from Barack Hussain Obama.

If he supports female slavery in Kenya, what does he really have in store for American women? It is a fair question.

I think it is a mistake for McCain to bring Hillary into this — I think they should leave her alone if they want to win over Hillary’s supporters. What they could instead do is to vet Princess Obama in earnest without exaggeration (there is so much there that there will be no need for lies) so people can make an informed choice in November (which will be favorable to McCain given who Obama is and his thin resume). They could help us get back at the DNC and the media which failed us in the primary.

McCain and Hillary are great friends and this ad will be considered by many a slap in the face of Obama for the 3 am text message slap in the face to hillary.

And thts exactly how it is being distributed.

It will be understood that this is McCain coming to his freinds side even they are across the party divide to defend her before the war begins for the presidency and Democrats and Republicans stop speaking the in the language that both can understand.

To McCain and the repubs you are useful idiots. You forget that McCain referred to Chelsea, then a little girl, as, in sum and substance, the ugly union of Hill and Janet Reno. That McCain had on his website until recently, the clip of the old woman asking him how to beat the “bitch” or the trashing the repubs did on Hillary when she was the perceived front runner. No, all you can think about his her loss and even though you swear you didn’t want her to run with Obama, you attack his choice of Biden. There are two things that stick out to me in this very lengthy, detailed article.

First, it fails to address Barry/Barack’s use of different surnames (Obama/Soetoro) despite the fact that it lays out his life history since birth.

Second, the final sentence quoted below shows how Obama sees things as being “defined and confined by the expectations and definitions of white people.”

To think Obama will have his finger anywhere near the nuclear button is frightening.

Though Obama Had to Leave to Find Himself, It Is Hawaii That Made His Rise Possible.

By the time he was 6, Barry Obama was a hyper-aware boy with much to think about. His mother had returned to school at the University of Hawaii and had received a degree in what her family considered an unlikely major — math. She had divorced Barack Obama Sr., who had finished his graduate work at Harvard and was back in Kenya, now living with a third woman. Ann had moved on and was soon to wed another international student, Lolo Soetoro, and follow him back to his home country, Indonesia, bringing Barry along. Her brief first marriage was in the past, Seattle in the remote distance, and Kansas farther still.

.

But she certainly tried to present the world in the most hopeful, unthreatening light to her children, first Barry and then his little sister, Maya, the daughter she bore with Soetoro.

.

The son’s notion of his loving mother’s naivete began in Indonesia, when they arrived in the capital city, Jakarta, in 1967, joining Soetoro, who had returned to his home country several months earlier. The place was a fantasia of the unfamiliar and grotesque to young Barry, with the exotic scent of danger. Monkeys, chickens and even crocodiles in the back yard. A land of floods, exorcisms, cockfights. Lolo was off working for Union Oil, Ann taught English at the U.S. Embassy, and Barry was overwhelmed in this strange new world. He recalled those days in his memoir with more acuity than he possibly could have had as a 6-year-old, but the words reflect his perceptions nonetheless.

.

By the time Maya was born in 1970, Ann’s second marriage was coming apart. This time, there was no sudden and jarring disappearance. The relationship lingered off and on for 10 more years, and Soetoro remained part of Maya’s life in a way that Barack Obama did not for Barry.

.

When Barry was 10, his mother made the difficult decision to send him back to Honolulu to live with her parents so he could get better schooling. He had been accepted into the prestigious Punahou School, and Madelyn and Stan had moved from a large house on Kamehameha Avenue to the apartment on Beretania, only five blocks from the campus.

.

Meanwhile, Barry’s circumstances had changed somewhat. His mother, separated from Soetoro, was back in Hawaii with little Maya. Barry joined them in an apartment at Poki and Wilder, even closer to Punahou School.

.

After three years in Hawaii, Ann had to go back to Indonesia to conduct her fieldwork. Barry had absolutely no interest in returning to that strange place, so he stayed behind with his grandparents.

.

Keith and Tony Peterson were rummaging through the discount bin at a bookstore in Boulder, Colo., one afternoon and came across a copy of “Dreams From My Father” several years after it was first published. “We’ve got to buy this,” Keith said to his brother. “Look who wrote it.” Barry Obama. Their friend from Punahou School. They both bought copies and raced through the memoir, absorbed by the story and especially by the sections on their high school years. They did not recognize any of the names, since they were all pseudonyms, but they recognized the smells and sounds and sensibility of the chapters and the feelings Obama expressed as he came of age as a black teenager.

This was their story, too. They wondered why Obama focused so much on a friend he called Ray, who in fact was Keith Kukagawa. Kukagawa was black and Japanese, and the Petersons did not even think of him as black. Yet in the book, Obama used him as the voice of black anger and angst, the provocateur of hip, vulgar, get-real dialogues.

But what interested the Petersons more was Obama’s interior dialogue with himself, his sense of dislocation at the private school, a feeling that no matter what he did, he was defined and confined by the expectations and definitions of white people.

Very clever of the McCain camp.

The democrat in me is sort of sorry that Hillary’s words will be used that way, but you know what?

The Obama camp slapped us all in the face with that 3 AM text message, and in a backwards sort of way, she gets the last word, without having to personally say anything new.

Do you think McCain thought Obama was a total jerk for sending out that 3 am text? Just wondering…

I thought they were jerks for doing that! What a DUMB MOVE. Trying to unite the party or NOT?

Psst: Obama, you don’t got it like that baby!

It’s a juvenile attempt to be snarky for his followers. Unpresidential. What will happen when Putin irritates him or his followers? Is he going to make prank phone calls to the Kremlin? Or post Putin’s home phone number on DailyKos?

Please with all the under handed bull that went on in this election, obama is a bipartisian threat. Anything that can be used to take George W.’s black clone down, is worth while to me. We need to send a message to all people who run for office. americans will not stand for those who threatened our right to choose our own leaders. We’ve lived for eight years under a man we didn’t vote for and i’m not about to do it agian.

for me it’s not about maintaining my identity as a democrat. it’s about stopping the corruption that has forcefully taken over the democratic party.

I think the documentary about the caucus fraud and intimidation will change a lot of people’s minds about Obama and his tactics.

For me it’s about maintaining democracy. I want to live in a country where I am free from fear of posting my views on a blog, and where I can walk in and vote without being harrassed by the opposing party. This is where the real change starts.

Comment by Yo | 2008-08-24 01:14:14

Kelley I agree with you. I was a staunch Hillary supporter and will now vote for McCain because I don’t want to live in a country where I am afraid to voice my own views.

I want to have a NoBama bumper sticker on my car but I won’t do it because I am afraid for the first time in my life of the retaliation of the Obama maniacs.

Just thinking of having Obama in charge of this country makes me want to vomit. Watching the caucus fraud was heart wrenching. What is this country coming to that people who would normally be honest become dishonest and willing to do anything during these caucuses to put over their presidential candidate and especially one as sick and twisted as Obama.

I am truly afraid of a Oblahblah presidency.

Although There really is nothing wrong with a NOBAMA bumper sticker.

Hell buy a bunch.

Just make sure to stick them on the cars of people you have a grudge with so they can enjoy the broken windows key scratches slashed tires and stray bullets on the freeways from the ardent obama supporters who will try to bring them to the Plastic Jesus.

The whole text message BS ploy for campaign donations was just an example of Ibamas Messianic Delusion. The ZERO must have absolute control over all aspects of the world around him.

If he had a brain, he would have known that once he made the VP pick, he would not be able to wait a day or two to announce in Chicago.

Ohter people would have to know. His VP pick has to make travel plans. And the Secret Service has to be notified and spring into action.

It was the swarm of Secret Service agents at the Biden home, that confirmed to the media that Biden was the pick.

It was no small coincidence that Ibama was frazzled during the announcement in Chicago. The reality that he could not control the world, with his goofy texting ploy, played havoc with his psychosis that keeps saying “Yes You Can” control the world.

His head may explode soon.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-24 02:57:30

In arabic the word Truth starts with H (Hak (m)) just like the middle name of He who must not be Middle Named.

In arabic Hussein means Good Looking.

You are forbidden to talk about Hussein.

The Main Stream Media is aware of this.

You are also forbidden to talk abou the truth.

The Main Stream Media is also aware of this.

So every time they refer to Backtrack Joebama as so Gosh Darn “Good Looking”, its a secret code word for Hussein the forbidden word and Truth the forbidden topic.

The Main Stream Media really is not in the tank for obama, they are being held hostage and are sending this signal out to all the world very cleverly.

In November when BaCrock Obullshit and his Surrogate Father The President of Hairplugs for Men lose the election, and the Fauxmessiah’s Darth Vader Death grip loosens on the neck of the MSM, they will reveal this in a post election news conference and the world will know that it was we the simple people who were too self-absorbed to get the signals from the MSM.

Olberrman will be the first to windbag about this as he reveals the truth to the masses at 8 pm on November 5 in front of the Leaning Tower of Pizza.

Louis Farrakhan will follow immediatly after with free numerology readings via text message to the first 1 million people to send him their cell phone numbers.

Didn’t you get the memo?

In a weird way, I feel like McCain is sort of sticking up for Hillary and her supporters. (I know Hillary might have to “denounce” it…) But, it’s a good comeback to Obama sending out the text message at 3 am, what a JERK. How immature and foolish of them. A nice sound punch to the Obama campaign would be to show Obama at saddle back saying that He gets advice from MIchelle and his Grandmother. The ask the question why would his wife “his advisor” would tell him not to pick a woman who secured 18,000,000 votes. Poor advisors, not ready to lead.

Switch to the clip of Linda Blair from the exorcist with head spinning and pea soup vomit flying

Narrator (sounds like Michelle): BECAUSE SHE IS THE DEVIL AND I HATE HER HATE HER HATE HER!!!

Comment by typical.white.person | 2008-08-24 03:09:29

With one minor correction.

Narrator: BECAUSE SHE IS A WHITEY AND I HATE HER!!!

…little Barry got his training in Indonesia on how to disrespect girls and women. He has wanted Senator Hillary Clinton to collapse under the pressure. He wants her supporters to bow and kneel at his feet.

As a matter of fact, little Barry has thought of Hillary 24/7 and he has spent the last 3 months showing her how much better he is than her (well, he thinks so…cuckoo).

He is so fixated on crushing her (because he knows in his gut he didn’t win) that he will continue to be obsessed with her. I am not kidding.

Anything he has to say rolls right off Hillary’s back like rain drops falling to the ground.

And why won’t little Barry be able to stop obsessing about Hillary…

…because in his mind, he got beaten by a girl.

Night, night and pleasant dreams little Barry.
