Report: Hillary Will Release Her Delegates

I first heard this on CNN a short while ago, and now find an Associated Press report:

Clinton expected to release delegates Wednesday

DENVER – Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, hoping to unite the Democratic Party and cement her future in it, will gather her hard-won primary delegates Wednesday at a reception where she is expected to formally release them to Barack Obama.

The New York senator has invited her pledged delegates to a reception at the Colorado Convention Center, not far from the main Democratic National Convention arena.

The high-profile gathering of political regulars who once fought against Obama serves a dual purpose for Clinton: Show fellow Democrats that she can be a team player, and display her still-formidable political strengths for the future. Many of her supporters want her to run for president again.

A Democratic official told The Associated Press Sunday, a day before the convention begins, that she is expected to release her delegates at the Wednesday event. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss details publicly. …

Let no one say — ever — that Hillary Clinton has not conducted herself with the utmost dignity, grace, and the strongest commitment to the Democratic party.

She is an example to all of us in how to treat devastating and unfair defeat with great class.

She is also, by conducting herself in the most dignified and unifying manner possible, preserving all of her options for the future.

And for us, as her supporters.

Go Hillary. Make sure you leave them no opportunity to attack you in the future.

Now as to November 4, Oh hell no brainer…McCain over Joebama all the way.

ROTFL! Not to the fourth paragraph do we hear the source, anonymous, and NOT FROM THE HILLARY CAMP.

Oh sure, she’ll “release” them, but then say, “vote your conscience” Wink-Wink.

The Hillary camp should look for two ways to win. One, with the vote, or two, as the roll call goes down and Brazile suspends rules to proclaim Obama the Chosen One, Hillary is a shoo in for 2012 b/c any person, not just close followers, will see Hillary was mistreated.

Comment by maniaco | 2008-08-24 20:18:27

oh man! good eye, good catch.
by now the DNC has put out so much BS, they should patent it.

besides which, since when does a candidate release delegates TO someone?
i can see simply “releasing” delegates, but then they’re free to vote Kucinich, Miguelito Raton (Mickey Mouse) or whoverthef*ck they want.

am i (w)right?

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-24 20:41:19

They are doing everything they can to FORCE Clinton to “control” her delegates the way obambi controls his. That’s not the way it works. We voted Clinton because she is a LEADER, not a dictator. Those votes are committed to her because we chose to give them to her. Barack feels he OWNS his delegates, they are his to do with what he wants and thinks that how it works. It doesn’t work that way. Hillary has created a situation where they can lay absolutely no blame on her at all and cannot cry or complain about rules or anything else.
Clinton yet again shows us her genius. When she “releases” her delegates, then ALL delegates are released, obama’s as well since there is technically no one holding delegates when she releases hers. His are then free to vote as they please, just as Hillary’s are and I’m sure Hillary’s delegates are intelligent enough (or have been explained to) to realize this and to share it with those Obama delegates who are are experiencing buyer’s remourse.
When Hillary “releases” her delegates, then ALL delegates are “FREE” since there is only one person claiming tho hold any and when the role call vote is made, ALL delegates can vote for anyone they so desire. This may be the most ingenious idea ever thought of by any candidate in any race in this nation. A role call must be made in order to officially make a nomination.
No pledged delegates for any opponent=no pledged delegates for anyone. Every delegate may vote as they see fit. By releasing her own, she realeases obama’s as well, with or without his consent since there is no longer a contending person to hold pledged delegates and all are free to vote as they wish.
This is my opinion and understanding and I could be wrong, but I believe this is the way that it works out.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-24 20:55:23

Additionally, if she releases her delegates, obama’s campt can NOT “challenge” any of them because they are not affiliated any longer. Another brilliant move.
Of course, she can still challenge his, since he’s not ABOUT to release HIS pledged delegates (formally that is).
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-24 20:58:36

I wonder if this will force changes in the “delegates at large” since there must be equality in the number of males and females causing delegates at large to be replaced by the proper gender? (that is, previously favorable at large delegates for barack being replace by delegates who are favorable toward Hillary due to gender differences making it equitible for delegates at large” ?

Comment by CheapEmptySuit | 2008-08-24 20:45:08

10 states require they vote for who they are pledged to. It’s the law!

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-24 21:13:33

I can’t imagine a single Clinton delegate voting for obama even after they are released from their pledge. They are dedicated to Hillary or they wouldn’t be there. It’s obama’s delegates that are experiencing buyer’s remorse.
This will prevent any challenges to any of her delegates (who will still vote for her), may change some at-large delegates, and still leaves his delegates up to be challenged before the roll call vote.
She just beat him at his own game.

From: http://alegrescorner.soapblox.net/frontPage.doWith Ohio, there are now 13 Binding Vote states where the elected/pledged delegates are bound to vote for HRC on the first ballot: Arizona, California, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia. For additional information, please see # 5 below.
The DNC and Obama are clearly nervous that they do not have the votes to nominate Obama, and the DNC is trying every pressure tactic to avoid having a traditional floor roll call vote. Among other problems, this will also circumvent many state laws. On Monday we need you to call AGs in the 13 states to bring pressure on the DNC to respect the state laws and insist that the DNC hold an open floor roll call vote in the tradition of Democratic conventions for decades. Otherwise we are left with symbolic mush.

Comment by slumlord | 2008-08-24 22:13:54

The only real down side to this is that now Obama thugs can intimidate delgates into voting for thug, instead of Clinton. Delegates won’t be able to say that they are not allowed to.
If someone has a way to contact delegates to voice continued support of Clinton, I hope they’ll post it.
The delegate contact website doe not work anymore.

Comment by FranSC | 2008-08-25 00:12:05

Yes, that is the case - they are free to vote for whomever. There is a chance that once the delegates started arriving in Denver, it became clear they were as angry as we are and that she could release her delegates and they would hang with her regardless.

From what John King and all the others on CNN said tonight, the Hillary delegates are furious at how she has been treated, and they will still be voting for her on the roll call.

Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper only seemed to bring up the VP situation as the reason for the disgruntlement and how Hillary was never seriously considered. That is only a fraction of the anger or a continuation of it.

We know there is much more to the anger than that, and I hope no one loses sight of the real reason for it all - the rigging of the nominating process by the DNC and the party leadership of Dean, Brazile, Pelosi, and the many others. Yes, the disrespect and sexism was rampant, unbearable, and dispicable, but fixing a primary by party leaders goes to the heart of our democracy.

Comment by PewL | 2008-08-24 21:02:07

Cnn when the roll call begins, she may stop them before they hit the 50 State mark, and Cnn also said, they can vote for whomever they want.

I sure hope they woke up and will vote Clinton for the nominee..It would be better if it came from Obama though, and drop out.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-08-25 02:33:47

pewl — the whole thing is ridiculous. Its all to make everyone feel that there is UNITY when there isn’t and that we are going to follow Hillary’s lead which we won’t. Its an exercise in futility. However, the TV cameras will show what appears to be a Unified Convention and thats all that matters.

For those who are saying here that they are looking forward to a Clinton victory in 2012 if we do not get one in 2008, I would suggest that the work begins on Thursday coming.

1. Do all you can to see that Obama loses in November and that we score a McCain victory. We all know the problems that an Obama victory would cause for the country and then some we don’t know about. He still has not been vetted properly, he is unqualified, too, too liberal, and the rest.
Four years of McCain will bode better for our country than any time with Barry.

2. Continue to maintain a PUMA presence and organize for 2012 so that nothing like this primary election fiasco happens again!

I love Hillary Clinton. God Bless Her. She must be going through a terrible time right now. A lesser woman would not have been able to get through this with as much dignity and class as she has exhibited.

Hillary in ‘08 or McCain it will be. Country before Party. Always.

You’ve got that right!

Hillary’s nerves are made of steel! She’s tough as nails. Extremely strong and gracious to go back to work for the VERY party who repeatedly stabbed her in the back and smiled in her face while doing it. Reminds me of the classic O’Jays song, “Backstabbers.”

They are going to pay through the ass for what they’ve done.

HRC started asking for money in 2004.

This is her chance.

HRC is far better qualified and won the popular vote.

Trusting crooks and creeps when they say that they’ll take care of you will inevitably turn into:

“You fucked up - you trusted us”.

As an article pointed out: women, working class and older voters are looking for a party.

Vote for McSane and form a 3rd Party for 2012.

Comment by jbjd | 2008-08-25 02:14:55

What does it mean to “release her delegates”? Very little. Here’s why.

According to the “Call for the 2008 Democratic National Convention,” pledged delegates “shall in all good conscience reflect the sentiments of those who elected them.” So, a delegate pledged to HRC as the result of the number of votes cast for her in the state’s primary caucus or election, is pledged to use all good conscience to carry out the expressed will of those voters.

The delegates from vote binding states are only obliged under state law to vote for the candidate to whom they are pledged, until that candidate releases them. At this point, then, they are only bound to exercise the good conscience required under the DNC Call.

So, releasing her delegates may only appease her oppressors while not necessarily costing her votes.

(Please refer people back to this comment every so often. It will calm their nerves.)

Here is where this story is likely coming from and being pushed by obama people.

Will Clinton Release Her Delegates? posted by John Nichols on 08/24/2008 @ 01:18am
DENVER — Will Hillary Clinton’s name actually be placed in nomination for the presidency on the third day of the Democratic National Convention?
And if the senator’s name is placed in nomination, will there be an actual roll-call vote? Or will a call be made for the nomination of Barack Obama by acclamation?
Those are the last open questions of the convention that will open Monday in Denver.
On Wednesday afternoon, at 1 p.m., Clinton will gather her delegates, alternates and allies at the Colorado Convention Center.
A crowd of 5,000 is expected, according to Clinton aides and allies.
Clinton could issue a call to arms. And she has an agreement with the Obama campaign to go forward with the nomination and roll-call.
But Clinton and her aides are worried.
Many of her delegates have formally endorsed Obama, and more than a few plan to vote for him on that first ballot.
There is open discussion in the Clinton camp about what the embarrassment level might be?
What if her vote were to fall below the 1,219 secured by the Rev. Jesse Jackson at the 1988 Democratic National Convention?
Or the 596 that former California Governor Jerry Brown received at the 1992 convention — the last to see nominations and a roll-call involving challengers to the eventual nominee?
Clinton is unlikely to risk it.
The New York senator can, and very probably will, release her delegates at the meeting Wednesday afternoon.
She has a super-delegate vote and she is now expected to announce that she will cast it for Obama.
Her 40 floor “whips” — who have been polling and consulting with delegates — would then encourage Clinton backers to follow the senator’s lead.
If that happens, the contest for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination will formally be done before the roll-call vote.
That does not mean that, if a roll-call were to go forward, Clinton would get no votes.
But if Clinton is not nominated, votes cast for her could under convention rules be counted as “present.” And there might not be all that many of them.

Not so fast, gentlemen, for moments ago, the story changed a bit at CNN.com (emphasis added):

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton likely will release her delegates to Sen. Barack Obama, a Democratic official said Sunday, the eve of the Democratic National Convention.

Yet, that same link used to say something different:

Clinton to release her delegates to Obama - CNN.com

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will release her delegates to Sen. Barack Obama, a Clinton spokesman said Sunday, the eve of the Democratic National Convention.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/24/democrats.convention/ - 3 hours ago - Similar pages - Note this

What changed? Did someone from the Clinton campaign get in touch with CNN and ask them to edit this headline and piece?

Maybe more important, does this mean her release of these delegates is still up for discussion pending her meeting with them Wednesday morning?

Stay tuned.

Another thought. Just because she may say she PLANS to release delegates, doesn’t mean she WILL release delegates (IF SHE said it to begin with, yahoo isn’t the most reliable source, as you say).
This may prompt obi to not bother challenging any delegates which was one of the tricks up his sleeve. It MAY even be enough for Obama to try to One-up her and release his own first so that it’s a role call vote that he believes he’ll win and the buyer’s remorse delegates decide to go for Hillary. It would be even more effective if he releases his first and then she decides NOT to release hers afterall, leaving him with ZERO pledged delegates, making HER the presumptive candidate who will take over the convention, do away with the roll call like he wanted to and beat him at the very game he tried to play on her.
(yeah, I know it won’t happen, but for irony’s sake, you couldn’t ask for a better set up). Would make for a hell of a movie plot too. The candidate that was truthful and honorable yet accused of all the things her opponent actually did while he had his teflon suit on waiting until the very end to turn the game around on him right under his own arrogant nose with their little heads spinning like they were in the Exorcist movie. LOL

I served as a Clinton delegate to my county assembly and convention, to my house district and senate district assemblies and conventions, to my congressional district assembly and convention, and to my state assembly and convention.

I am happy that I did not campaign to go to the national convention. She could have released me, but I would have voted only “present.”

I agree, however, that she is acting, as usual, with all the class I’ve seen throughout the primary.

I will NOT vote for Obama during the general election.

I am willing to bet good money that all this is being orchestrated by the thugs who have the DNC in a deathgrip right now.

They are screaming riots and retaliation if everyone doesn’t capitulate to their demands and fake it for the Fauxbama.

Nobody has anything to gain anymore in the DNC by fighting them. The Fix is in. All they can do now is resign themselves to it and make the best of it.

But i bet a whole lotta those people being strong armed to Prop up the Propoganda Puppet are going into that voting booth in November and returning the ultimate f*ck you to them. don’t worry.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-24 19:43:38

One a side note, i bet there was an emergency meeting after the McCain Pass Over Ad and they called her and said you have to release your delegates or else!

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-24 19:44:48

But on a counterpoint, if she does release her deleagates and somehow there is still a roll call and she gets lots of votes thats even more crushing for the obama. Very Clever.

Comment by dee4hill | 2008-08-24 19:56:34

That sounds very logical. Hmmm…

Comment by TeakwoodKite | 2008-08-24 20:27:15

My thought is, being the principled person Senator Clinton is, she will release the delegates so as not to jam them up.
It is clear the news of the “floor whips” groups roving the convention floor are meant to intimidate. Thats how these folks operate.

Same shit, different day. To think otherwise is pure folly.

As a Clinton delegate, it will appear to be like the caucus reduex. Hillary does not wish to invite the coming retribution that is coming.

godbless ya Senator Clinton. It’s all good.

Can’t have actual democracy breaking out at the Democratic Convention. ;)

And I agree she is doing everything required and more.

This weekend Hillary and RFKJr were in CA trying to get the UFW to vote for Obama. The organization he stole his slogan from

Of course nothing in the national news but the bashing of her and her supporters for wanting a normal convention.

So when the Obots say she didn’t do enough.

In fact, Hillary was trying to hand Obama the Hispanic vote that supported her for President BEFORE the Convention.

An article about RFKJr speaking.

http://www.fresnobee.com/263/story/817657.html

One article about Clinton and the UFW with a response about the delegates.

http://www.mercurynews.com/business/ci_10292395

“When asked by the Associated Press after the speech what her plans were for her delegates, Clinton paused for a moment, smiled and continued shaking hands with supporters.”

Comment by bemused | 2008-08-24 20:36:56

Or if indeed her delegates can vote “present” and force a second ballot. That would not be such a bad idea if it is true that they must identify themselves in the roll call.

I bet Fox doesn’t ignore us. They say we are the key to the GE. 48% of Democrats will not vote for Obama. McCain is getting 24% and the rest will vote for others. That is the phrase anyway. I believe a bigger chuck is going for McCain and we are not changing our minds.

Clinton delegates back Obama, but poll shows concern

Clinton is viewed favorably by 85 percent of all delegates, although the number drops to 68 percent of pledged Obama delegates. Her husband, the former president, has seen his popularity wane since 2004, to 79 percent from 96 percent of delegates in 2004. It is lower still, 62 percent, among Obama’s pledged delegates. Most delegates do, however, think that the former president could help Obama if he campaigns for him, although fewer than half think he would help a lot.

Michelle Obama is viewed favorably by 81 percent of the delegates, but 15 percent said they were undecided or had not heard enough, giving her an opportunity to win over the skeptics when she speaks on Monday night.

What world do we live in when the most experienced person for the job, cant get the job. But what hurts the most is that they achieved it by straight hard core fraud and all the evidence is right there.

This tells me alot. I dont care what anyone says, after 19 months I still have no idea who Senator Obama is. He did not answer questions or explain those donations from foreign countries, etc etc. Damn she has done EVERYTHING they have asked of her. Those delegates was the way to keep her promise to her supporters that she made when she suspended her campaign.

This opinion was posted on Yahoo from Nation at 1:18 am sunday.

Sarah Palin is a guys gal. Have you seen her profile?

Sportsman (or is it Sportswoman?), avid hunter, nice family, smart.

She and her family are like real Americana. The kind of folks you want to have dinner with, and have no issues with your kids paling around with her kids.

I really like that pick. A lot.

Comment by socalannie | 2008-08-24 20:24:08

Who is Palin, you guys? I’ve heard her name before, but forgot.

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-08-24 21:51:26

Sarah palin, Governor of Alaska.

http://gov.state.ak.us/bio.php

During her first legislative session, Governor Palin’s administration passed two major pieces of legislation – an overhaul of the state’s ethics laws and a competitive process to construct a gas pipeline.

Governor Palin is chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multi-state government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment. She was recently named chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) Natural Resources Committee, which is charged with pursuing legislation to ensure state needs are considered as federal policy is formulated in the areas of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and natural resource management

Sarah is heavily involved in issues of energy, natural resources and conservation. These are prime in todays political climate.

If Sarah is Pro Life, she may be a shoe in.

Palin could steal the “Change” and “Washington Outsider” mantle completely away from Odorky and Joe Bob.

This pick would be nothing short of BOLD and Brilliant.

Comment by Ex PUMA | 2008-08-25 07:38:45

She likes the Obama energy plan as well

“I am pleased to see Senator Obama acknowledge the huge potential Alaska’s natural gas reserves represent in terms of clean energy and sound jobs,” Governor Palin said. “The steps taken by the Alaska State Legislature this past week demonstrate that we are ready, willing and able to supply the energy our nation needs.”

In a speech given in Lansing, Michigan, Senator Obama called for the completion of the Alaska natural gas pipeline, stating, “Over the next five years, we should also lease more of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska for oil and gas production. And we should also tap more of our substantial natural gas reserves and work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska natural gas pipeline, delivering clean natural gas and creating good jobs in the process.”

Governor Palin also acknowledged the Senator’s proposal to offer $1,000 rebates to those struggling with the high cost of energy.

“We in Alaska feel that crunch and are taking steps to address it right here at home,” Governor Palin said. “This is a tool that must be on the table to buy us time until our long-term energy plans can be put into place. We have already enjoyed the support of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, and it is gratifying to see Senator Obama get on board.”

Although my daughter who works in Washington has a ring sized seat at the convention, I will be at at home not even watching the fiasco. CNN says that Obama and McCain are in a dead heat. This does not bode well for Obama. If the super-delegates do not nominate Hillary this week, I will be campaigning for McCain after next week. My daughter will be shocked because she has grown up in a house of life long Democrats but this time it just won’t happen. There is just too much at stake to trust our nation to an unknown rookie with no experience or track record of anything to be president. Plain and simple really.

Comment by DisenfranchisedVoter | 2008-08-24 20:48:10

Catherine: I think a lot of us are in the same boat. I’m not telling anyone that I’m voting for McCain. People where I am from think that anyone who votes Republican is evil. I used to think that way too before this election. There is just no way I will ever support the DNC and how they helped this fraud steal the nomination. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of Clinton supporters who say they will vote for Obama but will secretly vote for McCain once they are behind the curtain or will just stay at home because they aren’t enthusiastic enough to drive to the polling place.

Comment by catherine | 2008-08-24 21:01:10

Hopefully these citizens can be convinced somehow to get to the the polling places though because from what I understand, staying at home only helps Obama. Obama people are registering prisoners and other people who typically do not vote promising them all kinds of things if they vote for Obama. It is shameful really. The UN really should be called in to monitor the expected fraud that could take place especially in the battleground states. People have to understand this, keep the pressure on, and not sit home.

Neither one actually won the delegates without Super Delegates and most of the Super Delegates did not vote the way the people they represented did.

Yet Hillary won the Popular vote. You know even if it was the other way around I think I would still think this is one crazy election.

Then you add on top of all this Obama glorious friend/mentors, questionable background, unanswered legal question…This whole thing just does not make sense.

Comment by Mercedes | 2008-08-24 20:33:10

If the looming scandals on Obama’s horizon are as bad as some of the posts on this website have suggested, then I am hoping that Obama will be forced to withdraw as the Democratic nominee sometime between now and November. Then what?

Heidi Li, JD PhD raised the question on her website,

“what happens if after the Democrat Convention this coming week or after the Republican Convention in early September, the official nominee of either Party becomes unavailable before a President-Elect is elected by the Electoral College? My best informed understanding of the answer follows.”

She suggests that it would be up to each Party to name a replacement candidate according to their own procedures.

I would be happy to vote for a Biden/Clinton ticket or a Clinton/Biden ticket.

I am hoping that Obama’s little slip where he introduced Biden as the next president of the US reflected what he actually knows or believes. Also, that absurd response of his to the Saddleback question of what advisors he would trust in the White House, namely Michele and his Grandmother!!!!??, was either a conscious or subconscious acknowledgement of defeat.

I don’t think it is outrageously farfetched to think along these lines because the Democrats will certainly lose if Obama withdrew or bowed out before Denver….because of the race issue. It would not be a pretty scene.

But, they will certainly win if Hillary is on the ticket with or without Obama.

All this speculation, of course, stems from assuming the Obama scandals are as potent as suggested.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-25 08:30:57

The winning ticket to ensure sixteen future years of Dem rule was ALWAYS CLINTON in the lead role, Obama as VP.

Not reversed, no Biden, none of that crap–Biden would be a better SECSTATE or UN ambassador, if he could learn to control his pompously pooping mouth.

Of course, Obama was overanxious, and elements in the DNC just couldn’t BEAR the WJC legacy of results, results and more results, which came about as a consequence of a philosophy that included ideas like “Listen to your opponents and understand their concerns,” and “Slow and steady wins the race.”

Obama and his supporters, though, have been so vicious, vitriolic and underhanded that they may have broken the whole business, but good.

CNN poll: Post-Biden poll shows dead heat

In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll out Sunday night, 47 percent of those questioned are backing Obama with an equal amount supporting the Arizona senator.

“This looks like a step backward for Obama, who had a 51 to 44 percent advantage last month,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

“Even last week, just before his choice of Joe Biden as his running mate became known, most polls tended to show Obama with a single-digit advantage over McCain,” adds Holland.

So what’s the difference now?

It may be supporters of Hillary Clinton, who still would prefer the Senator from New York as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.

In the end — the gasbag Bidet was probably the only one who would agree to be the stupid one’s vp.

Bidet and Soetoro — jokes, both of them.

Women have long memories — and we remember Anita Hill and the male chauvinist gang of 14.

Many younger women don’t remember or could care less — and to these twits — go fight your own battles. I don’t care about you giggling twits following after a stupid male who hates women. The the younger women who DO know the history of Clarence Thomas and Bidet PLEASE educate your sisters. They are young and stupid now — but someday they will grown up and realize that they aren’t gotten anywhere — that the young guy has taken the very job that should have been theirs. It happens to ALL women.

In college studies show that the Profs respond to the male students significantly more than the female students. No wonder some women use their bodies to get through college. The silly girls in college don’t even realize that they being discriminated against — starting in grade school. It is so common that the girls don’t even see the discrimination.

To me the pay discrepancy of the Obama & McCain female staffers speaks volumes about the character of Obama and McCain.

The choice of Obama sadly means a lot more death and hardship for millions of women — a female US President with empathy could have made a change for the better in women’s lives. But the greedy creeps in the DNC don’t give a damn. The DNC must be cleaned of the garbage. I’d like to see the whole lot marched through the streets and then left in skidrow somewhere to live on the streets.

Hillary will do what she has to do — WE PUMA have to do what is best for the country and our future.

“Many younger women don’t remember or could care less — and to these twits — go fight your own battles. I don’t care about you giggling twits following after a stupid male who hates women. ”

My sentiments exactly. Let the bridezillas fight their own battles.

Twits describes them to a T. You should hear them on the open mic, reading “poems” about how some married geezer makes their panties wet.

Then you should see their chins hit their titties when I read my response poem. Tough love, you know. It’s their only … hope.

No matter what she does, she is screwed. The DNC will never allow her to be the presidential nominee. All I hear on every network is blame the Clintons. How could these 2 people be held responsible for the entire democratic party making fools of themselves?

Earlier today, Tweety and company said PUMAs were not mad at Obama or the DNC, they were only mad at the media. Are they nuts? They also said we are committed democrats and will vote for obama in Nov. because we had nowhere else to go. When will they realize we’ve already gone some place else?

For these fools, denial ain’t just a river.

Like you said, they’re so far gone in denial that they don’t see that we’re already gone. Like an ex who just can’t accept the fact that the relationship is over.

But what else can the stupid media & Obamabrats do or say? They’re finished - and despite their denials, deep down inside they know it too. So they’re grasping at straws.

DUMB!

Obama has done everything he can to humiliate Hillary.

Hillary has accepted each insult and inspired her followers with the quiet dignity with which she has born each new cross.

Every spiteful thing Obama and the corrupt DNC has done, only serves to unite us in our resolve to deliver a resounding defeat to them in November.

The Obama Camp will loose, and loose big in November because we will see to it that they do.

After the fall we will take back the Party and purge it.

Between now and November 4th will be the hard times, the dark times. We must shore up our resolve by remembering that no matter how hard it is for us, it is all that and a thousand fold for the Clintons.

Remember, NO QUARTER!
Don’t accept any and don’t give any.

All idle threats are just another form of vanity.
The only power we have is the power of our vote.
If we stick together it will be enough to make this happen.

Hang on in the coming weeks when there is nothing in you, except the will that says to you, “Hang On”!

Stephanopoulos: No Roll Call Vote for Clinton?
“The whole idea of a roll call vote could be in flux at this point,” Stephanopoulos told ABC’s Charles Gibson on World News Sunday night.

“The Clinton people here, they’ve said they wanted catharsis, they wanted that roll call, but they may not get it,” Stephanopoulos said, describing the decision as one being discussed at the highest levels of Clinton’s camp. “They don’t want to be blamed for any trouble at this convention.”

With the emgerence of modern mass of lies over the television, with each network asserting the superiority of each competitor, even our own children have learned to take all these lies with a grain of salt. For us, liberal networking is the leader of our country. There is the constant danger that we unconsciously drift into the frame of “no G-d in we trust” in our land. Hillary to us was like the little ant who carried us on top of her back and when came across a crack on the ground, she was able to lift us over. Well, little did we know that the strength that we admire so much in her was sucked out of her by her own weakness. She always talked about turning burdens into bridges and having Obama at the wheel stirring our country’s ship will only crash into one of those bridges. In moments like this we are experiencing the piercing pang of pain which cries out: “Why they you sell us out to this corrupt people that did everything in their power to take the presidency from you? Has it every occurred to you that we, too, have a share in the responsibilty of keeping our country safe too?” It is up now to the grassroots, Puma, republicans, ex-democrats, and independent to save our country from this scary man, named Barack H Obama.

CNN poll: Post-Biden poll shows dead heat
Posted: 06:25 PM ET

From CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser

DENVER, Colorado (CNN) — It’s a dead heat in the race for the White House. The first national poll conducted entirely after Barack Obama publicly named Joe Biden as his running mate suggests that battle for the presidency between the Illinois senator and Republican rival John McCain is all tied up.

The best thing we can expect is Obama drop out,and say that Hillary won the popular vote.

This should be interesting concerning the KY delegate that was replaced:
Taken from the Delegate Selection Rules for the 2008 Democratic Convention
Rule 18, part D, number 2

http://s3.amazonaws.com/apache.3cdn.net/de68e7b6dfa0743217_hwm6bhyc4.pdf

A permanent replacement occurs when a delegate resigns or dies prior to and
during the National Convention and the alternate replaces the delegate for the
remainder of the National Convention. Any alternate who permanently replaces a
delegate shall be certified in writing to the Secretary of the DNC by the State
Democratic Chair. He/She shall be of the same presidential preference (including
uncommitted status) and sex of the delegate he/she replaces, and to the extent
possible shall be from the same political subdivision within the state as the
delegate; except in the case where the presidential candidate has only one
alternate, in which case, that alternate shall become the certified delegate.

Check rule 20 for challenges as well. The KY delegate was replaced illegaly according to the DNC’s own rules and bylaws.

Yes, she conducted herself with the utmost dignity. She did for Obama more than anyone before her. I remember Ted Kennedy and his shameful behavior in 1980. I remember Hart and his shameful behavior and i remember Jesse Jackson and his shameful behavior.

No one of this supposed icon of the democratic party endorsed the nominee before the convention. All of them, endorsed the nominee during or after the convention. All of them had role call vote and actually Kennedy did not endorse Carter at all in 1980.

Yes, Senator Clinton, bless her heart, behaved with the utmost dignity and yet these motherfuckers keep asking for more. What the fuck do you want from her? Tell me, what the fuck the you want for the woman?

They can’t decide from one minute to the next what to do. Hillary would not let us down. She is being forced to give up the roll call vote. Oh I hope they lose in a landslide. Will Obama Ever Face the Press?
By JB Williams Sunday, August 24, 2008

It is very troubling that a man is seeking the office of Commander-in-Chief of the United States at a time when he will confront lethal threats against the nation from the most brutal tyrants around the globe, yet he is openly afraid to face the unfriendly news reporters at FOX News Network…

He thinks he can handle Al Qaeda, Hamas, Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Kim Jon Il and Russian aggression, but admittedly can’t handle Bill O’Reilly?

Even Hillary Clinton was brave enough to sit and field open questions from FOX News, which she did very well by the way. I’m a conservative, so I’m not a Hillary supporter. But I must say that Hillary handled herself quite well in FOX interviews, a room Obama won’t even set foot in. Obama is the only candidate in history who has refused to answer FOX News questions.

Are we really going to elect a war time president who is afraid of FOX News?
What is Obama so afraid of?

The answer to this question is obvious. FOX might be the only news service in America that would dare to ask Obama the most important questions surrounding his quest for the highest office in our land. Every news service should be asking these questions, but clearly no other news room is going to ask anything that might upset Obama’s apple cart.

My most recent column, Exactly How Biased is the American Media? spelled out the cold hard facts of just how left-wing the modern American media really is today. Most Americans correctly assess the American media as “in the bag for Obama.” But few Americans have any idea of the depth to which their suspicions are right, or what Obama stories lurk that would likely derail his campaign if the press would ever confront the candidate with those stories…
Questions any candidate should have to answer!

Feeling the walls closing in on his empty résumé after a horrific performance at the Saddleback debate last week, Obama held the press captive all week long awaiting his hi-tech announcement of a VP running mate. It should shock no one that Obama settled on career left-wing attack dog Joe Biden, who would immediately assume the task of attacking all who might attack Obama, leaving Obama above the fray and far from confronting his demons.

So far, the press is following their DNC marching orders and focusing all attention on Biden as if he were the one seeking the Oval Office. The ploy worked and Obama has bought more time, kicking the can down the road far enough to skate through the DNC convention without having to confront any of the stories or questions that could make him an easy target for a Clinton Coup on the convention floor.

But any presidential candidate should have to face the press on some of the most damning stories to ever surround a presidential wannabe.
Real Stories ignored by the Obama-Press

Obama’s Lost Annenberg Years Coming to Light – And so is the current cover-up effort to bury this story.
Lawsuit - Obama NOT US Citizen – This suit was filed 8/21/08, only days before the DNC convention, by Pennsylvania former Assistant AG and Clinton supporter, Philip J. Berg, Esquire. Download this file (ObamaComplaint.pdf)
Download this file (ObamaComplaint.pdf) Complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief
Obama’s Muslim heritage - Candidate Obama has repeatedly denounced his Muslim heritage, but his own books say something quite different. He hinges his Christian heritage on his membership to the Rev. Wright’s racially charged anti-American church, which he also denounces now. He now says his mother was a Kansas Christian, but she was actually a devoted atheist and his father’s were all Muslim.
Obama’s Communist Connections – The Communist Party USA, Socialist Party USA and Democratic Socialists of America support Obama’s campaign. Obama’s father and mother were communist activists. His life heroes are Weatherman William Ayers and communist Saul Alinsky. Research the communist practice “community organizing,” Obama’s leadership claim to fame.
Obama’s connection to his African cousin Odinga - and the thousands murdered in pursuit of socialist power in Africa.
Part II
Obama’s Foreign Donors: The media averts its eyes
Obama crime connections

These are just the top stories that present very real and valid questions. The press would happily use any one of them to destroy almost any other politician. The collective list would be impossible to ignore by any honest journalist. But all of these stories have been buried by the Main Stream press for months now.

Will Obama be allowed to waltz into the White House without ever being directly confronted on any of these very real concerns about his fitness or eligibility for the highest office in the land?

If it is up to the lamestream press, Obama will become our next president without ever having to answer any of these serious charges.

Are American voters going to sit on their hands and allow their press to bury all of it in support of their chosen Messiah?

Best I can tell, Barack Obama is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated upon American voters and the press is going to continue providing aid and comfort to his efforts to defraud American voters.

In an ideal world with a truly honest, fair and balanced press, all of these questions would have already been asked and answered. But they have never been asked and unless the American people demand that they are asked, they will never be fully answered.
If Obama has nothing to hide, why is he hiding?

If the press has nothing to cover-up, why are they providing cover by not asking the questions?

I don’t care what political party you belong to. If you are willing to elect a president surrounded by so many allegations without even asking the questions, you are NO American!

If Obama has a good answer for all of these allegations, I want to hear them. But he will never answer any of them without being asked. Send a copy of this column to your legislators and media contacts and demand that American voters get straight answers to these questions before this guy becomes the DNC nominee. Once he’s the nominee, if this stuff goes mass media, it will not only destroy his campaign, but the party who helped him hide from the truth as well…

Even Obama supporters should want the answers to these questions before their party is backed into a corner after the convention…

Send it everywhere today and demand answers, before it’s too late to ask!

“Obama has done everything he can to humiliate Hillary.”

So very true and all he has done is to galvanize our resolve NOT to vote for him Nov. It’s not so much that Obambi has no clue how much further he has galvanized us, it’s his arrogant mindset that thinks he can chit on anybody and get away with it.

My god, even Republicans can see how much Obambi and crew have chit on Hillary, it goes beyond political beliefs, it goes down to core fundamentals of being a human being in at least a some what fair fashion.

Obambi won’t be POTUS this Nov., that’s a given for sure and from Jan 2009 to 2012 his whole corrupt mafia style Chicago combine will be routed out, demolished and ravaged until NOBODY will ever want to utter the word Obambi, Dean & company again. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy that mindless egocentric idiot Obambi along with Dean & company have brought about. They wasted the whole 2008 election cycle because they wanted a power grab compliments of the AA community, who themselves have been nothing but pawns in this whole facade.

I certainly don’t see eye to eye with McCain on a host of issues but WTF, I’ll take 4 years of McCain before I REWARD crooks like Obambi, Dean & company.

The sentiment is changing folks, many of us didn’t like Obambi, Dean & company before but I think it’s now moving to a deep hate as the SLIME against Hillary increases and we are all more aware of the tactics that have no end in sight.

The privacy of the voting booth come Nov will give me my chance to smack Obambi upside the head with my vote against him!! Nov can’t come soon enough!

America needs to pray!! What is sad about the above comments from so called Hillary supporters is that they could come straight out of private, dinner table conversations from the 1940’s thru 60’s, during Jim Crow and Civil Rights movement, yet they are spewing out of the bowels of hatred of young thinkers, ages 25-60’s. When will it change? When will your hatred stop? I am waiting for Hillary to say how ashamed she is of the 18 million who only supported her skin color and sex, as opposed to her ideals, which are much like Obama’s. She should have denounced this type of hatred a long time ago, and that is one reason why she is not headlining the stage next week. When you are truly for or against something, it would not make a difference who is holding it, but you prove that you never were for her either.

Comment by ohio | 2008-08-24 22:13:00

God knows best, if you truly believe your name, then you have to know that Obama is not a Christian. You know the word Christian means a follower of Christ. Christ said I am the way and the light and you can only get to the Father through me. Obama says there are many ways. Christ says there is a heaven, but Obama isn’t sure. Now, while I don’t care if we have a Christian leader, I do care when someone lies about it, and that would be Obama. The only thing I have heard that he has said that is truthful and that is people haven’t been reading their bible. In fact, he’s counting on it.

Hillary had no choice if she wants to run for POTUS again she cannot alienate blacks. No Democrat has even been elected without getting at least 60% of the black vote. She does have enormous grace and class and remains the best canidate that has chased the office since John Kennedy. And she is better prepared than he was. The election was stolen from her and us. I will vote McCain and send my first $$ donation right away.

And isn’t it just dandy that Oprah will be back stage with BO and MO all the time. She plans to be there all week. But stay in the back ground.

Now isn’t that just soooooooooooooooooooWonderful……..:(

Comment by LindaA1 | 2008-08-24 22:27:43

Oh what fun!

The big media story at BO’s Coronation is the angry Clinton supporters. Will we be unified by Friday? Donna B says we will - then swallows hard. (chuckle) She says we just need to “hear from Barack Obama about his positins…” Oh give me a break!

Will we cause a fuss at the convention? Will Obama mesmerize us with his big speech? Will Hillary convince us to kiss BO’s ring? Will the 27% of Hillary hardliners for McCain roll over and change our minds under the bright lights of Convention Obamaganza?!!

Words like “alarm” and “ominous” are creeping into the coverage. Pundits say Hillary can stop Carville and Begala from saying Hillary was mistreated - if she wants to, but she hasn’t (wink, wink).

This is so satisfying - finally!

We need to hear more positions? MORE positions?

Obama’s positions are a stack of flapjacks, each one waiting to be flipped.

I want to hear about his Bend Over and take it cuz he has earned it on November 4 from all the angry and disillusioned voters position.

I, too, think that HRC could be in great danger–there have been too many convenient deaths.

This is the first I’ve heard of Russert’s “corruption story on Obama.” I always thought Russert was an Ozombie through and through. And he also hates the Clintons. Didn’t he declare Obama the presumptive nominee?

I think if Hillary is going to release her delegates next Wednesday, she will be honest to Frauds!

Clinton likely to release her delegates to Obama

DENVER, Colorado (CNN) — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton likely will release her delegates to Sen. Barack Obama, a Democratic official said Sunday, the eve of the Democratic National Convention.

.

“[The reception is] an opportunity for Sen. Clinton to see her delegates — many for the first time since the primaries ended — thank them for their hard work and support and most importantly, to encourage them to support and work for Sen. Obama as strongly as she has, in order to elect him in November,” Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines said.

Likely seems to be the operative word, with a little wiggle room.

And, she will “encourage them” to support Obama. Many of them may choose not to support Obama.

We’ll find out Wednesday.

NoQuarter,

I hope you someday reign in the bigoted, racist members (some, not all) and allow real conversation about this upcoming election. I do not understand how you can turn your head and ignore the behavior of these disruptive republican trouble makers. Yes, I am sure you know theri purpose here as well as I do! You will clean up your act (Larry) or this place will become a ghost town.

Please allow me differ here
what is the difference between now and let say April. the same was going on with the party pushing her out and the media too. Obama was crowned the nominee for no other reason than than to appease the loud Clintons haters. Why didn’t she just throw the towel and crowl back to the party and beg them to accept her then instead of continue to accumilate more debt and subject her supporters to listen more insults to her and them. I never took her for a quitter. there is no dignity in what she is doing.

ABC is reporting that the decision to include Clinton in the roll call vote may be in jeopardy.

“Stephanopoulos: No Roll Call Vote for Clinton?

August 24, 2008 8:11 PM

ABC News’ Nitya Venkataraman reports: After former rivals Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton worked to broker a deal where Clinton’s name would be placed into nomination alongside Obama’s at the Democratic convention, speculation swirls in Denver that Clinton insiders may be willing to accept no roll-call vote, fearing the blame of disrupting the party’s efforts at unity.

ABC News’ Chief Washington correspondent George Stephanopoulos says no decisions have yet been made, but that the state-by-state vote faces the possibility of elimination in favor of Obama’s nomination “by acclamation.”

The roll call vote was planned in an effort to soothe Clinton supporters bitterly disappointed by her loss to Obama during the primary season.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll released Sunday showed Obama only receiving the support of 79 percent of Democrats — a number Stephanopoulos says is due in part to the fact that Obama doesn’t yet have all of Clinton’s supporters on board. ”

The polls over the weekend, CNN’s showing 27% of registered Democrat Clinton supporters are voting for McCain, with only 66% of registered Democrat Clinton supporters saying they will vote for Obama and ABC’s poll showing that 30% of Clinton supporters are stating they won’t vote for Obama must have the Obama camp is a tizzy. In June, according to a CNN poll, only 16% of registered Democrat Clinton supporters were going to vote for McCain. McCain has been gaining in the polls for the past month, with the majority of his support appearing to come from Democrats discouraged with Obama.

It appears the last thing Obama wants at his Denver party is for the rest of America to see just how many delegates don’t support his nomination.

If CNN’s poll is correct, that means 34% of registered Clinton Democrats won’t vote for Obama, choosing instead to vote for McCain, writing in Clinton’s name, voting for a third party or abstaining from the November election. That’s 6.1 million voters. What about the non-registered Clinton Democrats like me? Or the registered and non-registered Obama Democrats who have changed their minds about Obama? That has to be at least another couple of million.

One thing is clear to me, if the DNC nominates Senator Obama this week, McCain is our next president. I don’t want another Republican administration in the White House. But between the two evils, I’ll take McCain for $1,000, Alex. Polls are indicating that I’m not the only one playing Jeopardy and more people are fleeing to McCain not because they want him as president, they don’t want Obama as president.

Ah, but Hillary can’t control the actual voters who voted for her in the primaries and won’t vote for Obama in the general election. Hillary can go through the motion as a team player, but even she can’t save the sinking ship, SS Obamacrat. There are just too many holes.

Hillary…we know you were threatened and sold us down the drain. I worked hard for 1 yer with a vast network of 116,871 supporters of yours…we gave money, time, effort 24/7. Please do not do what you are about to do. The very second you encourage your supporters to back a person like Obama(the most dishonest, corrupt person in politics)…our group will gothrough with our plans of workeing even harder to gofor McCain….the Party will not be united. We ask you one more time…PLEASE HILLARY…blind side the corrupt people who treated you like dirt and tell your people to vote for McCain or simply walk on and off the stage without saying a word.Obama will never win0I promise.
