Eighty-Eight Years

Yes, today is the 88th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment “giving” women the right to vote. And to celebrate this auspicious occasion, Barack Obama chose to have two men, one who is anti-choice (that is, does not believe a woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body), to speak at today’s UnDemocratic Convention. Oh, and one of those men is the KEYNOTE speaker. Woo - Happy Anniversary, Ladies!! Ahem.

It reminded me of the following article, which I m reprinting fully here because, well, it deserves it: Casting The Vote Of A Lifetime: Dying woman realizes a dream in marking ballot for Hillary, then Bill Clinton sends her a kiss.

By Kevin Woster, Journal staff Sunday, May 11, 2008

They figure the next best thing came April 29 for the 88-year-old Rapid City woman, when she rallied long enough in her bed at Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospice House to cast her vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton.

To a woman born seven months before her gender won the right to vote in August 1920, seeing Clinton’s name on a presidential ballot and marking her vote nearby was a dream realized, Steen’s daughter, Kathy Krause, said.

“She was just very happy that day,” Krause said. “She really rallied and was sitting up in bed talking to people. That was the best day we’ve had.”

There haven’t been many good days lately for Steen, who is suffering from congestive heart failure a year after a stroke began her downhill slide toward hospice. But even sliding hour by hour toward the inevitable, Steen found the strength to study and mark the absentee ballot that her daughter brought to her room.

“I had asked her if she wanted to vote, and she said, ‘Yes, I really would like to vote for Hillary,’” Krause said. “So I filled out the papers. She signed them, and I went to the courthouse and got the ballot.”

To add an air of patriotic celebration to the occasion, family friend Louise Engelstad brought a United States flag from her garden, and she and Kruase draped it behind Steen’s bed.

“Then I got mother her glasses, and she sat up. She was very alert, very serious in studying the ballot,” Krause said. “And when she marked it, she just kept circling and circling that mark with her pencil. I thought she was going to mark a hole in it.”

Krause, who had already voted for Clinton by absentee ballot, said her mother’s health has deteriorated sharply since the day she voted.

But the vote set in motion a warm response from both Bill and Hillary Clinton.

When informed of Steen’s condition and vote by the Journal, Clinton’s campaign staff provided a comment from the New York senator, who appeared in Sioux Falls Thursday.

“I’m so flattered to have the support of Florence and so many like her,” Clinton said. “I have met so many women from my mother’s generation who come up to me and say they were born before women could vote and now want to see a woman in the White House.”

Then, family friends and campaign staffers informed Bill Clinton of Steen’s vote, and on Saturday, he sent word that he wanted to meet Krause and her husband, who were at Stevens High School for his speech.

“They called my husband and said the president wanted to meet us,” Krause said.

When they went to meet him, “He expressed his sympathy for my mother’s failing health,” she said. “He said he was really sorry and he understood our loss. He really appreciated that my mom had made an effort to get out and vote for Hillary by absentee ballot. He has great respect for women of my mother’s generation.”

Krause said Clinton had tears in his eyes when he spoke to her and told her to go and give her mother a kiss for him.

She did just that, though she isn’t sure if her mother understands that she met Clinton.

Sitting by her bed every day, Krause remembers a mother who was both comforting and inspirational.

“I suppose everyone who is losing their mother thinks the same thing: She was always there,” Krause said. “She taught me to excel in everything I did. She always wanted my daughter and me to be able to take care of ourselves and have an assertive role in our own lives.”

Krause said her mother was a survivor, a quality that Clinton has shown in her life and in the presidential campaign.

“I think there are a lot of similarities between them,” Krause said. “My mother certainly doesn’t have the wealth or notoriety or reputation. But she’s been a survivor, just like Hillary. And whether you like her (Clinton) or not, she’s a survivor. You have to respect her for that.”

Yes. You do.

And so today, on our 88th anniversary, our Congress has only 17% women in it. SEVENTEEN percent. Conversely, Rwanda, you know, the country which is just coming out of a horrendous, horrifying period of massive genocide, in which women were routinely raped, gang raped, tortured, and mutilated, has in their 2003 Constitution that women MUST constitute 30% of the official representatives. In fact, their numbers are closer to 50% (figures taken from the linked article written by Cindy McCain. I know - I was as surprised as you are. It is a very good editorial, actually, about women in Rwanda. Who knew?!?). That number is the highest for any country.

Here we are - 88 years later, and the first major woman candidate, who received more votes than any other primary candidate EVER, is not the Democratic presidential nominee. Despite her years of experience, and legislative accomplishments, she is not the one selected by the DNC. No, she was passed over by the Party Elite for a younger man with no real accomplishments to his name. May we not have to wait another 88 years before we can have equal representation in Congress. May we not have to wait to have the candidate who garners the most votes not be denigrated mercilessly by the Media and Party Elites because she is a woman. May we have the most qualified candidate as our nominee “even though” she is a woman. May we not lose hope. May we not lose faith. May we see these changes in our lifetime. Happy Anniversary, Sisters.

Nor ws she seriously vetted for the number two job. Instead, we got a guy whose “choice” credentials are about twenty years old. Gee. I guess I forget to send a thank you note!

And he trashed Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas hearings!

Comment by HillGirl | 2008-08-26 14:53:58

Remember the credentials committee and how they went into their secret hiding spot and decided what was going to happen when they came out?

Well, guess what - it’s happening again - this time with the ROLL CALL vote. That’s right! They want to hold it behind closed doors at the hotel. WTF?
and

Go figure! (Alegre).

It is a sad, sad day. The Democratic Party is, as we suspected, no longer democratic.

It’s very sad that this nation is still so male-dominated - even Great Britain had Margaret Thatcher for Prime Minister. India had Indira Ghandi. Other countries - third world nations - have had women leaders and the two major political parties still can’t bring themselves to put a woman on the Presidential Ballot.

Must mean that we’re not as civilized as all those countries - I love this country, but I could believe that!

Not the nation, just the DNC. After all, a woman recieved more votes for nomination this year than any canidate in history.

Comment by Astra14 | 2008-08-26 14:19:20

And she should be the one getting nominated! Why isn’t she? Because the DNC is just a male-dominated as the GOP! They love their good old boy system!

We waited 88 years for a woman to have a realistic chance to be president, and she was turned away at the door.
A few weeks ago, MO told a story about a little AA girl, who she said can now look forward to being anything she wants, including president. She also made reference to her own girls having that opportunity.
My thought was, if a woman can’t be elected to the presidency after 88 years of voting rights, what makes her think that her girls will have a better chance in 30 years? We haven’t even managed to elect a woman VP yet.

Yes, it’s tragic that our politics are male-dominated. But the Pumas can bring, at least, an end to Jack McCafferty’s sexist commentary.
Chris Matthews of MSNBC and Keith Olbermann were both unspeakably cruel to Hillary.

Jack McCafferty, the misogynist of CNN said during the primary that:

“Hillary was like a Scolding Mother”……

Well, today Hillary said “I am a Mother first..”

McCafferty and the rest of his “journalist” wolfpack get their on-the-job training chasing bimbos out of rehab. They have degraded Journalism–and that’s why the Iraq war was uncheched and all we saw were sanitized army guys politely knocking doors!

Thousands of Iraqui women were raped and 2 million homeless in Iraq and another 2 million in Syria and Jordan! guess what? About 200,000 Iraqi refugee women are “working” as prostitutes for the fat Kuwait princes in Jordanian ‘enttertainment’ bars!

thank you Pres. Bush for this holocaust on the women of Iraq.

Thank you Obamyopia for “giving Hillary the finger” and treating her with not an ounce of respect!

Nobama ‘08

McCafferty should apologize to Hillary for calling her “A SCOLDING MOTHER” — What’s wrong with being a mother, moron?~! SHAME ON YOU, JACK! RESIGN FORM CNN!!

Obama is an immature teenager, who’s vindictive and insecure. He should go back to the political sewers of Chicago to steal some more elections, cause he sure is not going to win this one!

Great blog Rev Amy.

I will never get over though that the woman was not Senator Hillary Clinton for nominee. She deserved it, not another woman to come in the future, not Obama’s daughters’ generation of women.

Hillary Clinton is the woman with the accomplishments, the hard work and the popular vote.

Comment by Rob in Chicago | 2008-08-26 14:40:28

Damn it RRR Amy, you just made a 56 year old biker cry. That was an amazing story you have posted. Almost as amazing as is the collective insanity of the “New” Democratic Party. I am so sad for this nation for what could have been a transendential presidency. It really takes a Clinton to clean-up after a Bush, but we’re stuck with Barky, who expects others to do the hard work for him; it’s a damned shame.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-08-26 15:11:20

Sorry, Rob! :-) I hear ya, though - it made me cry, too…

Agreed abt the collective insanity..AND abt a Clinton needing to clean up after a Bush.

Rob from Chicago,

Rev. Amy’s story is great and needed to be said.
Rob’s right “Barky expects others to do the hard work for him”. Without the teleprompter Obambi is a stutteringly pathetic fool.

The country lost a chance at a transendent presidency that would heal the world, Hillary being the Healing Force that she is!
And Obama lost another chance to have the best V-P but he was too insecure and scared to have Hillary beside Him!

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, THANK YOU!

Pumas are roaring!

John McCain is one of only a few Senators to earn a Zero percent lifetime rating from Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund.

He voted against requiring health care plans to cover birth control (3/22/03).

He voted against comprehensive, medically accurate sex education (7/25/06).

He voted against international family planning funding (3/14/96).

He voted against funding to prevent teen and unintended pregnancies (3/17/05).

He voted against public education for emergency contraception (3/17/05).

And he voted against restoring Medicaid funding that could be used for family planning for low-income women (3/17/05).

Comment by Kal | 2008-08-26 14:33:17

So you better really get out and work for those downticket dems, since you care so much.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-08-26 14:35:17

The issue is not whether John McCain is better/worse than Obama. The issue is that Obama does not deserve the Democratic nomination. The one who DOES, who earned it, who is qualified for it, who has the experience for it, is Hillary Clinton.

Moreover - compare Obama’s record, including IL (or ESPECIALLY, since he has done very little since being in the US Senate) on women’s rights. “Present” doesn’t cut it. Just sayin’.

Comment by ottovonblood | 2008-08-26 14:42:02

yes lets compare them:

The amendment was included in the final version of the bill that passed Congress and was signed into law. [S.Amdts. 905, Agreed to by unanimous consent, 4/25/07, S. 761, Incorporated into H.R. 2272, which became P.L. 110-289, 8/9/07]

ALL I need to do is compare how McCain pays his female staffers and how Obama/Soetoro pays his female staffers.

Obama/Soetoro pays females LESS than he pays males.

McCain pays his female staffers a comparable wage the the male staffers — in fact the highest paid staffers happen to be FEMALE — McCain practices WAGE equality.

The copy and paste BS from the Obamabot — is just that — useless filler

Obama/Soetoro has not WRITTEN major (or minor) legislation — he just stole bills written by others and put his name on the bills to build his resume for his planned run for US Senator.

Obama/Soetoro is LAZY — the only legislation he’ll bother to push through are bills that help his rich friends get richer by stealing from the poor.

One of Obama/Soetoro’s rich friends is in jail — Rezko for crimes that Obama/Soetoro participated in.

Obamabots your guy is a lying jerk.

But thanks for working so hard to remind us that Obamabots are idiots.

How does he pass into law anything BTW? He can vote, but his vote is not the law of the land.

Passed into law… really? Only the “one” can do such momentous work. You are a card, really, you are.

“….attempts to understate Clinton’s accomplishments by citing the number of bills she authored and passed into law. And then it attempts to over-inflate Obama’s record by citing the total number of bills he sponsored (BOTH in state and federal congress).
If you look up the information for yourself (http://thomas.loc.gov/bss/110search.html) you can compare apples to apples:
- In the 109th Congress Obama sponsored 152 bills (26 were signed into law) and co-sponsored 427 (12 were signed into law). Clinton sponsored 177 (21 were signed into law) and co-sponsored 720 (19 were signed into law).
- In the 110th Congress Obama sponsored 113 (0 signed into law) and co-sponsored 375 (3 signed into law). Clinton sponsored 150 (0 signed into law) and co-sponsored 477 (4 signed into law).
- Grand Total Authored - Clinton 327 sponsored / 1197 co-sponsored vs. Obama 265 sponsored / 802 co-sponsored
- Grand Total Passed – Clinton 44 vs. Obama 41
THE FACT - During the time that Obama and Clinton were in Senate together, Clinton authored 23% more bills and co-sponsored 49% more bills. Clinton helped to pass 7% more bills than Obama. In addition, Clinton sponsored 299 bills and co-sponsored 1183 from 2001-2004 while Obama was not involved in national politics. ”
Further, there’s a huge difference between a “state” senator, and a national senator”

Oh, dear - you seem to be buying into Obama’s claims that he is responsible for all kinds of amendments and laws on which he has barely worked, if he worked at all. Like all of the committees on which he allegedly serves. Just because he VOTES on it does not mean he crafted the language or initiated the amendment/bill.

In IL, his “accomplishments” were the result of a kingmaking effort by Emily Jones, which has been documented numerous times. Obama’s name was slapped on legislation on which he did little, if any, work to the detriment of those who had spent YEARS working on the issues. And, all of his alleged “accomplishments” happened in just one year.

SO, nice try. But those who frequent NQ are actually pretty well informed abt Obama and his “record,” such as it is. Just sayin’.

Comment by OBSP | 2008-08-26 15:31:10

These Bills were handed to him by that Uncle Tom calling Emil Jones. I know for sure that the Act against Violence was not his bill. It was Ricky Headon’s bill and came out of a women in his district being denied FMLA after being attached by her husband. We worked on the fiscal impact it would have on employers and sent all the info to Ricky Headon’s office. I was shocked when the bill was signed with obama as the sponsor. Look at who werre the cosponsor on his bills, they were most likely the orginal sponsors of the bill.
An Added note, just like when he go into the US Senate, he ran for the next highest office. This is the same pattern he did in the State.

Why is Barack Obama behind in the polls during the Dem. Convention?

Why can’t Obama gain over 50% of voters?

Why is there a lawsuit to have a TRO to prevent Obama from running for president filed by another DEMOCRAT?

Why was Obama named in the Rezko trial as a player in the corruption by Patrick Fitzgerald’s team?

People need to stop confusing women’s rights with abortion rights. I’m not a talking uterus for christ sake. Plus, I’m well done with mine and wouldn’t mind having it removed! John McCain is not anti-women and neither is the GOP. If they were, they would n’t have so many intelligent women working with them. Have you ever sat and listened to the brainless female Dem pundits compared to the republican female pundits? Worlds apart. I’ve noticed the difference and would rather be associated with the intelligence rather than the teeny bopper body parts you see on MSM. I do think Obama is anti-women. In his books, there is very seldom discussion about women in his past. Alot of men though. I’ve also seen few women in his campaign and the ones I know of get little air time.

Sorry, kids, it ain’t all about abortion! Plus, if you want to keep those rights, you get off your ass and work for it! Everything women worked so hard for for all people, you damn idiots are tying to erase.

I would imagine McCain getss the big bump after tonight. What the DNC should do to save itself is have a poll and ask if you want Obama to be the nominee or dump him and go with clinton. They’d be stunned. I know many who voted Obama, but now do not want him!

At the convention, Greta Van Sustren from FOX has been noticing anger amongst the delegates, she writes on her blog Gretawire that there is anger over how Hill has been treated:

The women in the elevator - Democratic delegates no doubt - are extremely unhappy with the manner in which Senator Clinton has been treated by the Senator Obama campaign and the media. By the time I got to my floor and got out, it was plain how these women feel in the privacy of the elevator (privacy of the polling booth?) Of course the elevator at my hotel, like my work email inbox is not a scientific study by any means …but I sure hear lots of anger about the treatment of women and Senator Clinton in particular.

Hillary,

Einstein developed one of his most important ideas after he awakened from an intense and memorable dream. Paul McCartney is reported to have said that he didn’t consciously write the tune of Yesterday, he just woke up in the morning humming it. Can you remember any of your recent dreams? They may have more to tell you - or to offer you - than you think. You are dealing with a situation now that your conscious mind is not entirely sure how to cope with. So, involve your unconscious mind! - Tues.Aug 26 Scorpio

Eight-eight years is not very long. I’m still dumbfounded that ERA didn’t pass in the 70’s. I guess we have many laws and social expectations that make it met but I’m still thinking that it might be a nice statement of closure. That, plus electing Clinton or another woman as president.

BTW, I’m tending to think that McCain might choose a woman as VP (but who). More than any other choice, this would clearly steal any momentum Obama might fantasize should be his after his coronation this week.

ERA was first proposed in 1923. It is shocking that it has yet to pass.

Good point abt McCain - I’ve been thinking that, too. The Republicans actually have a few women they could choose. Olympia Snowe from ME is a pretty liberal Republican, and I am pretty sure she is pro-choice. Or if they want to go for a conservative woman, they have Kay Bailey Hutchinson from Texas. Both have been in the Senate a LONG time, and have a lot of experience.

Christy, thanks for that. Greta has been one of the best during this whole campaign season. She has really earned my respect. And heck yeah, we’re mad. Hillary Clinton has been treated like NO ONE ELSE ever - the popular vote winner is supposed to bend over backwards to prop up the Selected One? Why is she expected to do more than any other male counterpart of hers ever has? Even moving beyond the deep seated anger at the loss of Democratic prinicples and ideals (which is the bottom line for many Hillary supporters) is the despicable way in which they have treated her, like she is not worthy to share the same air. It is infuriating. She is heads and shoulders above ANY of the DNC elite - Howard Dean is nowhere near her league, and yet he, Donna, et al, are treating her like she is some little pesky gnat they just can’t get rid of fast enough. Yep - we’re angry all right!

Anyway, McCain has had some high power women in the spotlight, like Carly Fiorina from HP.

A woman takes all spotlight from Obama and a qualified one will also give even more reason for Clinton supporters to pull the lever for McCain instead of Obama.

My mom was also a slave (so to speak) even though she was white. She could not vote (for a long time) and she could not sign a contract. She could pick cotton with the men and some women. She could work in a laundry or a cafe as a waitress. She could not enter into a contract to buy a car or a house or even furniture for a house, unless my dad signed the contract. She was, according to the social status of American women, a second class citizen. I know from first hand experience there are “CHRISTIAN” churches in America today that have not advanced past that second class citizen stage for women and even corporate America still deny women the RESPECT they JUSTLY DESERVE. Yep, Hillary had an uphill battle from the beginning, and it isn’t over yet. Thanks to men like Ted Kennedy.

I was on the verge of tears, then I remembered how much better off I am as opposed to my mom. She was born in 1900, I was a menopause baby, and I don’t know how those women got through their daily existence!
My daughter, and grand-daughters, may never see a female president either, but they are gaining ground in all other arenas!
Thank God!

actually, just doing research on one bill–wasn’t even passed AND THERE IS NO RECORD OF WHO VOTED FOR OR AGAINST…[109th, S. 1086, Passed by Unanimous Consent, 5/4/06; Held at desk, 5/8/06]

May 4, 2006: This bill passed in the Senate by Unanimous Consent. A record of each representative’s position was not kept.

THIS BILL similar to other bills like it–passed then dead,

doesn’t look like they totally passed but I’m still reading

all these bills by the way, are posted by Obama campaign on sites,

but I will look each on up, not hard to do, lets see how many don’t have voting record such as the one above so we have no way knowing how he voted or if he even did–but from the Congressional records they state, not records of who voted were posted, so don’t you think its a bit silly

to expect readers to know for sure when there is no record of who voted? Just by what Obama campaign says????

Comment by Karma | 2008-08-26 15:19:16

Exactly. I don’t believe anything that Obama and his campaign says about bills, committees, etc.

Thanks for looking into these….I just assumed it was more lies and Emil Jonesin’ type of support for these bills. Giving his name not his effort to them.

Believe me if he actually had done any work that could pass the scratch and sniff test, he’d be dragging it out of the closet daily and beating everyone over the head with it. Look at me! Look at me! Bots are easily impressed.

Latest Gallup poll.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/109834/Gallup-Daily-Bounce-Obama-Post-Biden-Tracking.aspx

McCain in the lead.

It is not the Hillary supporters bringing him down. He picked a Washignton insider. He voted for FISA. He’ll allow oil drilling offshore..that is why his numbers are going down.

He doesn’t stand by his word…If I were an Obama supporter I wouldn’t support him either.

The youth vote in March had a 66% enthusiasm rating now it’s down to 42%….duh!

Well the delegates will probably vote to go down with the ship…but there is more to why Obama is sinking.

Comment by Destardi | 2008-08-26 15:20:34

Let me ask you…how much of the vote percentage does 18,000,000 contribute to?

How many of those 18,000,000 Hillary votes are not going to vote against obama?

You know, those diehard voters who always vote? True blue dogs?

I’d say Hillary voters play a part, and discounting that only sets one up for further misteps.

ok still reading, he Did co-sponser bill [shock]but several versions failed, latest passed…

that bill–haven’t checked the others yet. But of course, one key thing to remember–one of the bills or recommendations he made was to be ‘culturally sensitive’ on enforcing women’s rights–esp rape,

translating–if its fine under religion or culture, then there are exceptions–

and Thats just it–there should NEVER BE EXCEPTIONS

NOT FOR RELIGION OR CULTURE

PERIOD.

Obama speech stage resembles ancient Greek temple

People who have no jobs or are having a tough go of it won’t be impressed with such WASTE and POMPUS that Obambi prepares to foist on the American people. The elitists might think this par for the course but it won’t play well in the living rooms of the majority of Americans.

Elaborate stage productions are meant for entertainment purposes and not as a means of showing the American people you are in touch with their life.

Obambi is so full of himself yet so empty that he NEEDS something larger then life to try and over come his many deficiencies, the elaborate stage production WILL NOT WORK TO FOOL AMERICANS!!

Comment by Natasha | 2008-08-26 15:42:07

ok HERE IT IS,

and allow me to clarify where This spells trouble,

“The bill would establish a sexual assault services program, directing the Attorney General to make grants to states, territories, and tribal entities for rape crisis centers or other programs and projects to assist those victimized by sexual assault, culturally specific community-based organizations for various services on behalf of sexual assault victims, and state, territorial, and tribal sexual assault coalitions”…

in Europe they have these ‘cultural sensitive’ services to women to AND THEY ARE USELESS, when confronting for example, those communities who Insist on complying with Sharia Law.

AND as a result hundreds of women are trapped, living under two systems, western law and Islamic law, and the hands of enforcement are tied…

the Reason I am not tipping over with glee just because someone votes or co-sponsers a bill is because one can do so but also support policy that conflicts with those bills–we have seen This in the UN. There are all sorts of international standards but dare one confront violence to women under Sharia and that has been ruled not to be allowed OR to even be discussed, therefore giving nation-states and communities total and complete IMMUNITY TO VIOLATE ALL SORTS OF HUMAN RIGHT ABUSES TO GIRLS AND WOMEN AND CHILDREN, ETC.,

and a few of Obama’s co-sponsored bills do conflict, on one hand he votes for progression and on the other hand he votes for bills that could be patriarchal friendly,

that usually are. Also, how many of the bills on women actually passed? Whos to say one can’t vote on a bill to gain acceptance knowing full well the bill is going to fail — this isn’t uncommon, but point is,

while yes he has co-sponsored bills, he has also shown support or alliances that are diabolically opposed to human rights of women, and he’s not the only one but as a rights advocate it does cause suspicion–most of all,

the treatment towards Hilary, says way too much.

BTW, I was in a very far left party whose platform stated feminist–but those feminist and glbt rights were easily done away with when that same party made alliances with Hamas and Hezbollah and CAIR and so forth–why I got out,

so I am very well aware how that works and how easily, women’s rights are thrown off the bus.

Its not enough to co-sponsor a bill to gain popular support, and then support in ways the exact opposite and not just once,

most of all, that party I was in–big backing of Obama and his alliances–that to me says all I need to know.

Promises mean nothing when one is allied with misogynists and extreme ones at that…

Comment by fred | 2008-08-26 15:52:56

Do you expect Hilary’s supporters to be accomplices in the election fraud done to her?

Electoral fraud is illegal interference with the process of an election. Acts of fraud tend to involve affecting vote counts to bring about a desired election outcome, whether by increasing the vote share of the favored candidate, depressing the vote share of the rival candidates, or both ( Michigan)

Do you think we should vote for Obama because he use of the race card and open the door for every unqualified candidate to try and win an election by charging racism? Obama allowed his surrogates to play the race card and he remained silent? wer schweigt scheint zuzustimmen translate silence means consent

Should we pretend Obama doesn’t have disdain for the Clinton’s and her supporters ? Hillary expose the media lies that Obama was this great orator and intellectual ,he ran from debates to cover up his lack of knowledge, plagiarizes speeches to hide his lack of substance and showed the world he is teleprompter dependent.

If we truly support Hillary why would we vote for Obama and subject her to Barry/Michelle’s disdain for her and former president Bill Clinton? Wouldn’t make sense. Obama wouldn’t let Senator Clinton get one piece of legislation passed, he would allow amendments to guarantee she would not have her name on the legislation. He’s clearly shown he has NO respect for her or her supporters. We wont subject our candidate to a senate hell by electing a man that has no respect for her. ( No Will Do)

Hilary’s puma’s can’t take full credit for the Obama DEFEAT we must credit Obama for his statements, knowledge of history and his supporting cast: “typical white people” “Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment” He’s been to 57 states in America, Great Lakes are in Oregon, Jeremiah Wright, Father Michael Pfleger, and Tony Rezko.

Obama ’s policies hes flip flopped on: Special interests, Public financing, Illegal immigration, NAFTA, The D.C. Handgun Ban, FISA http://www.nelsonguirado.com/index.php/asymmetric/2008/07/09/comprehensive-obama-flip-flop-list

Lets talk about Obama making history as the first African American President. Obama has made history he’s the first candidate given votes without having his name on the ballot. The first candidate thats was given votes cast by voters for his oopponets. He’s made history already.

• S. 3757, A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 950 Missouri Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois, as the “Katherine Dunham Post Office Building.”

WOW, amazing stuff Obambi, NOT, lol.

I haven’t had the chance to read through all the comments yet, so this may have already been said.

God I hope Hillary’s speech begins with:

“Here I stand…on the 88th anniversary of the 19th Ammendment…of women having earned the right to vote…the anniversary of what began to give women a voice. 88 years ago, 1920, was also the same year that President Wilson made the Communist Party illegal. My, my have things changed. The Communist Party has a new name…the Democratic National Party…and women’s (and their supporters) votes don’t count any longer. The New Communist Party selects their candidates…….”

Comment by Kato | 2008-08-26 18:41:31

PS: obviously I know it won’t start that way. Just thinking about the anniversary and how ironic her speaking tonight is. Wishful thinking I guess.
