Go Your Own Way, You Jerk

Ok I added the word “Jerk” to the Title of Geeklove’s latest video.

Geeklove says,

I am sick and tired of Hillary “working her heart out” for the ungrateful Obama who has done nothing to reach out to Clinton or her supporters. While, Obama states that Hillary would be on anybody’s vice presidential short list, he doesn’t even give her the time of day or even pretend to do so. If Obama wants people to vote for him because of his judgment, I say, that it really was poor judgment not to even consider her and extremely poor judgment to mock her by sending the dissing text message at 3 a.m.

It is time for Hillary to send Obama off on his own. No one can save “Barack America” now.

Well Put, Geeklove, my feelings exactly–except that I didn’t want her to be that moron’s Bridesmaid so he could get her to drag his lazy ass across the finish line and take all the credit. I simply cannot stand this phony, sexist pretty-boy loser. And I simply wouldn’t vote for him even if he picked my mother as his VP. I know the difference between VP and President and I do not want that pig to be my President. As for the MSM, now nice of you to keep trying to tell me who I should support–right here in America. Bug off.

Read the rest ->

Get off on your own, Barky, you Narcissistic jerk. See the gif above? Go bite it. Go play “Pretend I’m Gonna Be President” and leave me out of it. Hillary doesn’t owe you sh*t. She’s not going to drag your ass across the line the way the superdelegates did in the Primaries. We won’t go. So get used to it. You are a very rude, abusive man, Barack Obama. You are the kind of guy who would break a woman’s jaw and then come home later with flowers. Stop abusing that woman for your own Narcissistic purposes. We hate you for it and it’s not going away, “Barack America“.

She’s done more for you than you deserved. You deserved NOTHING. Did we see your hood ornament, Howard Dean, do these things for John Kerry? What you do want her to do, carry your worthless ass on her back? She’s better than you, Barky, in every way, shape and form. And you know it. On November 5, you can slink away with your bag full of kneecaps and go back to Chicago Thug Land.

Move on, Jerk. And take your ignorant thugs with you. The more they act like threatening street thugs, the more we hate you Barky. Get it? You ain’t in Chicago anymore, Toto. Enjoy your little Narcissistic convention and your poll bump. It’s the last bump you are going to see.

Here’s Geeklove’s latest video, “Go Your Own Way”.

Let’s be serious and ask how would PUTIN react to Obama doing the same gesture about him? Obama the diplomat!

The media does a good job of covering for him, but could he go mano a mano with Putin with this behavior?

Remember:“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said in Philadelphia last night
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0608/Obama_brings_a_gun_to_a_knife_fight.html

With global tensions as they are, the Democrats are just sailing into uncertainty…Biden or not…

Hey cow, my husband did backfill for Bosnia, would you care to find out just how dangerous it was there? Your comment shows how ignorant you are to military matters. Choppers and planes go down all the time due to small arms fire and it is wise to were full battle rattle when flying into a war zone. Even if you aren’t a high value target like a FIRST LADY. I love when you idiots use this argument. I pass it along to friends and family to show how much you twits don’t know about war.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!

FOX News has a 17 page FBI report on Obama that they are refusing to release to the public. It was obtained from a person with Clintons4McCain because she talked about it on Hannity’s radio show a couple weeks ago. Also, there is the Berg lawsuit challenging Obama’s citizenship. WE NEED TO CONTACT FOX TODAY AND DEMAND THEY REPORT THIS TODAY!

Yesterday afternoon on Hardball, Chris Matthews was live outside with people on the street at the Democratic Convention. First Chris talked to republicans there with McCain signs, then he walked down the line to 2 women holding a Clintons4McCain banner and one woman, with med-length blondish hair spoke to Chris. She basically said something like a former congessional investigator concluded Obama signed up as a Muslim in an Indonesian school and when Chris questioned her she referred to a 17 page report that she had from this former congressional investigator and would email to him (Matthews), but she would not name names. I do not know any follow up to this, but maybe someone out there can give more information.

Comment by Lurker | 2008-08-26 15:26:45

May,

The woman you saw on MSNBC was Christi Atkins. Christi Adkins, along with Anne Franklin, Peter Boykin and other Clinton supporters, created Clintons4McCain.com. You can Google her for more info.

Hillary took all the heat, and all the cheating your boy could muster and she was shining at the end of the primaries. Your boy looked like he had been through a war…(but we know he wasn’t, he spoke out about war to no one years ago, rofl).

He’s pathetic, everyone knows it, everyone sees it..and you can’t change it.

Comment by Thinker | 2008-08-26 13:54:44

exactly. Do these people have amnesia or what?

The GOP spent millions of dollars trying to take down Bill Clinton and they couldn’t do it. They have attacked Hillary ever since she was a first lady, then Senator, then Presidential nomine, but yeah, that didn’t work either. She was still able to get 18 million votes.

The Clintons can handle anything the Republican throw their way.

Obama won’t be able to do the same.

The lies, the hate, the victim card, the blaming, the venom. Then they demand respect. Laughable. I guess I’m elitist for confessing that I think they’re low-lives, uncivilized, ignorant, and clearly lacking any Democratic spirit.

I have a lot of respect for HRC and would have whole-heartedly supported her had she been the nominee. Her disgruntled supporters have done her a grave disservice. Neither she nor her daughter, Chelsea, would condone what’s going on here. They would most likely be sickened and saddened.

I think it’s kind of funny to expect Hillary to bring everybody over to Obama. That sort of thing might work in the Republican party, but since when are Democrats obedient and organized? Have we ever had a leader that said “jump” and we all jumped?

The Obama camp and the DNC don’t seem to understand that if they want voters, they have to go out and earn them themselves. You can’t just stand there with your nose in the air pretending it’s not your job.

Even McCain went out and tried to court the AA vote. That’s what you do when you’re running for office, you show some humility and try to reach out to people, even people who probably aren’t going to vote for you.

Comment by artemis | 2008-08-26 13:17:30

He couldn’t even be bothered to ask for the OH vote BEFORE our primary. I have voted in every general election, primary and special election (except one) in my district for over 15 years and I never got a call his campaign. You can’t find a more likely voter than I am. I got calls from EVERY candidate that ran against Dennis Kucinich (all 4 of them). I got calls from every candidate that I signed up to get emails from, and that was most of the 12. I got calls weeks ahead of time from Edwards, before he dropped out. No calls from the Obama campaign…until 2 weeks AFTER the OH primary…asking me for money. The Obama campaign was never interested in my vote, so why should they get it now?

And if you assclowns aren’t whiney–tell me, why are you here, WHINING? Carping? Complaining? Griping?

That’s RICH, all right….!

Why ARE you here? Why aren’t you celebrating your Messiah’s coronation if everything is so swell, and this is just a fringe effort?

Why aren’t YOU brushing that “bitch” off YOUR shoulder, and throwing her the finger? HMMMMM?

By the way, everything is fine. I’m confident Obama will win in November. It’s just satisfying to come over here and get my dose of schadenfreude listening amusedly to closet Republicans — aka PUMAs — as they sputter and spew their rage-filled diatribes day in and day out.

I am amazed and delighted this is happening at this point. Good luck OBOTs if this starts rolling to the masses. The bell iss beginning to toll for thee. Ha!

Comment by Rob in Chicago | 2008-08-26 11:53:34

Jim:

There you go again, putting Party ahead of the truth. The Democratic Party has told Hillary’s supporters that they can win without us, and that they are the New Democratic Party. Now I’m beyond the loss of my party, and I can answer the New Democrats, “Fine, we have a deal, go ahead and try to win without at least 50% of your base.” Hillary stated the truth when she said that McCain has more experience than Obama. Even Obama said, upon winning his Senate seat, that he did not have the experience to be president, yet he has been neglecting his Senate duties to run for the presiency ever since. So Hillary tells the truth, and Obama lies and shows lousy judgment, nothing new under the sun.

Comment by BlueDolphin | 2008-08-26 13:13:22

Sounds like to me tht the DNC Dean and BHO and Pelosi and Brazile could know of this problem with his dual citizenship problems, but knew enough to run him as the nominee anyway, to remove the Clinton brand from the gitgo, out of the running for this election cycle.

Now, as the nominee, whether he wins or not, he is the catalyst that caused the end of the Clinton brand for this election POTUS cycle in 2008.

If he wins the GE now in 2008, but is found to be ineligible to serve as POTUS by January 20, 2009, due to multiple, dual, triple nationalities in his past due to his land of birth and birth certificate issues as well as being adopted by an Indonesian father and automatically becoming an Indonesian citizen and perhaps never regaining his US citizenship, whatever, then, Nancy Pelosi would become the next POTUS based on that she is the Speaker of the house and third in line to the position of the POTUS.

Comment by Tuppence 411 | 2008-08-26 12:00:35

She told the truth - and she’s EXACTLY RIGHT - bambi is UNQUALIFIED, of course.

So, bot - in your addled little mind, just exactly HOW is barky QUALIFIED to be president? A jillion “present” votes in the Illinois state senate? A few months in the U.S. Senate for which he can claim NO accomplishments? A campaign trip to Europe? A vacation in Pakistan (or wherever)? A few years bamboozling the poor while he pretended to be a “community organizer?” Oh yeah - great qualifications - he should be so proud.

Funny how obots NEVER come here and talk about barky’s qualifications - because he has none. Oh, I forgot - BLACK SKIN - for the obots that’s the ULTIMATE QUALIFICATION TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, isn’t it? Didn’t he say he would be honor to run with or against McCain? Stop with the BS Jimmy boy. I will never forget how Hillary and most of her supporters were treated by the HYPOCRITS in the DEM party and the SICKO republicans who hate the clintons and I despise both groups.

Comment by Ani | 2008-08-26 12:56:22

Yes, everything is Hillary’s job. Didn’t you know that?

Senator Obama insulted everyone who didn’t vote for him, but she is supposed to make it all better — “oh no, Barack didn’t really mean it.”

To all those who have said, this is bigger than Hillary now, you are correct. This has nothing whatsoever to do with her.

He was unqualified back in February. He is unqualified now. And worse, he has reneged on the promises he did make.

She cannot, nor should she, put humpty dumpty back together again.

That the media and some of his supporters are trying to make this her job only makes their chosen one look weaker and even more pathetic. He is not capable of doing is his own heavy lifting. Or any lifting, for that matter.

Comment by mr. natural | 2008-08-26 15:28:41

When the hell did that become her job?
Obama paraded himself as the “Unity” candidate. He told us only “he” could bring America together. Christ, he can’t even bring his party together.

Unity is the same fairy tale George W. Bush rode to town on.

Little wonder that Obama’s chosen suckers behave exactly like the craven little Bushies we all used to laugh at.

Obama promises change, but he couldn’t even change his church. He ran away. Obama has run from any stand that would require showing the kind of leadership his toadies constantly crow about.

FISA. Impeachment. Obama has thrown them all under the bus.

Why? Because he is false. He can’t lead as genuine leaders do. He’s done nothing but bullshit his entire life. So he’s decided to lead like every two-bit fascist, by making himself a dictator. He’s telegraphed that intention by voting on the side of right wingers who have given Bush carte blanche. I give him four years before our Constitution has been flushed as part of the “change.”

In stupidity and vanity, Obama’s followers are easily the equal of Bush’s.

Comment by Mary Cusack | 2008-08-26 12:26:23

Hillary is a politician. Not a saint. Not an Angel. We know that. We always knew that. To change the rules of the game you have to play the game and when you play the game you get dirty. That’s the difference between Hillary supporters and Obots. We know our candidate is Human. YOU think Yours is GOD.

Comment by Right On | 2008-08-26 12:36:12

Not true. You know full well Obama and most of his supporters are fully cognizant of his mistakes and weaknesses — as well as his political maneuverings.

My point is that the amount and ferocity of Obama hatred here is not based on you people simply thinking Hillary would be a better nominee. You rattle on endlessly, day after day, month after month, complaining about all the horrible, dishonest, foul-play things Obama has supposedly done. Ergo, he’s a prick. But when Hillary veers into Machiavelli-land? Oh, that’s okay — she’s a politician.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-26 12:46:20

Seven bucks an hour, or are you frightened?

If it’s pay to post, your BOSS is frightened.

Exactly. It’s not based on the fact that Hillary would be a better President. It’s based on the fact that Obama would make a terrible President. If Hillary had lost to Al Gore, I would gladly vote for Gore in the GE.

We jump on Obama’s flip-flops to make fun of his gullible base that he made fools of. In fact, the only thing I like about him is how he made suckers out of the netroots. But I don’t despise Obama because he has more designer flip-flops than Imedla Marcos. I despise him because he’s an unqualified fraud. I’ve had 8 years of that in George Bush.

Hillary’s position vis a vis the Democratic Party and her being at the same time in the public eye where her every word, statement, glance and attitude is recorded for all time, is that of a warrior politician, a master politician who, despite all that was done and said against her, will leave american history to judge her position of 40+ years as a democrat, Democratic First Lady and wife of a former Democratic President.

Hillary Clinton is not just looking at the present times of the democratic party, but looking into the future of a better democratic party, in which her leadership has made its mark for american history, and the legacy that her husband Bill Clinton will leave to his Clinton Presidential Library when they are both long gone from this planet.

She is looking ahead to the survival of the democratic party as a unified party, with or without BHO, as it is simply a collection of people who have goals, ideals and plans for a better America and nation for the future.

She is the greatest woman political campaign candidate this nation has seen, and it will be a long time before someone like Senator Clinton comes along on the horizon.

God Bless America and God Bless Senator Clinton.

Comment by andySF | 2008-08-26 13:56:47

Wow. Well said. People forget that a political party is just a group of people share a set of common beliefs, value and goal.

When that’s no longer the case, they can be no longer unified. Is a shame that most Obama supporter don’t understand this. They think belonging to a party means blind loyalty, hence the mess today.

Murphy (PUMAPAC) has this post in the comments section of “Hillary Overshadowing Obama in Denver.”
Hang tight folks.
THE STORY IS CHANGING

It will take a few days for this to become the main story but it is building big time:

THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. HALF OF DEMOCRATS ARE SAYING THEY WILL NOT SUPPORT THE NOMINEE. THIS IS VERY BIG NEWS. WE HAD TO TAKE OUR MESSAGE TO DENVER TO MAKE SURE THIS BECAME THE STORY — AND WE HAVE SUCCEEDED.

WE HAVE SUCCEEDED.

THANKS TO YOU.

I just got off the phone with Radio Ireland — going on KGORadio in CA at 11am mountain time.

The BBC later today.

THE FOREIGN PRESS IS ALL OVER THIS.

no one talks about racism anymore. No one is talking about “bitter crazy fringe holdouts.”

THE STORY OUT OF DENVER IS THAT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS FACING A POLITICAL DISASTER. A POLITICAL DISASTER. SHALL I SAY IT AGAIN?

A POLITICAL DISASTER.

Obama needs a 15 point bounce over McCain coming out of this — a 15 point bounce. Anything less is EXTREMELY OMINOUS.

PUMA PAC — WE DID IT. WE DID IT. WE DID IT.

I don’t understanding the thinking of some of you out there. You seem genuinely unhappy because Hillary is not fighting Obama and is making nice talk. To me it is clear. She is not doing it to help him. She wants him to lose. She is already running for 2012. BUT, she cannot afford to be seen as even complicit in the takedown of Obama or it will kill her 2012 campaign before it even begins.

I think we all need to get on this wavelength. Over the next two months we are going to hear from Hillary and many others how we must give it up and support Obama for the party’s sake. I say Hillary will have her fingers crossed when she says that and will secretly be cheering us on. Real support for the party means protecting it from the grasp of these jackals and the best way to do that is for Obama to lose in the biggest way possible, but to have no Clinton fingerprints on it. Can we do that? Yes we can!

Comment by vee | 2008-08-26 11:37:43

Yes we can!

Comment by Right On | 2008-08-26 11:41:55

I’m confused. I thought you guys hated Obama because he was supposedly a dishonest, Machiavellian player who only cared about personal power. Now you’re championing Hillary for supposedly scheming and lying in order to gain power in 2012? Please explain.

Comment by Shiloh | 2008-08-26 11:56:47

Right On, Speaking only for myself I don’t hate Obama because he plays hard ball politics. I want my candidates to play hard ball. And hate is the wrong word. I am very averse to the idea of him winning because basically I think he is incompetent, unqualified and a grave danger to the country and the party.

Comment by Right On | 2008-08-26 12:15:02

1) So, you seem to be saying Obama beat the most powerful, inevitable machine the Dems have seen in decades by playing hardball. But you don’t support him because he’s “incompetent.” Please explain this obvious discrepancy.

2) If you really don’t hate Obama, you’re hanging out with the wrong crowd here. Try Taylor Marsh’s site, where Dems express ambivalence without abandoning their party.

Comment by tek | 2008-08-26 12:45:18

Right On, if you’re going to try to debate the opposition you need to learn some techniques. First of all, your whole premise is wrong. Obama DID NOT beat anybody, did not win anything. Hillary kept winning, she won the popular vote, and then the SDs came out for him. No win, just a tyranny. He only got as many delegates as he did because Donna Brazile gave him double delegates for AA districts, otherwise Hil would have been the nominee after Super Tuesday.

Do you know who you’re voting for? Obviously not in this case.

Comment by Joy | 2008-08-26 18:48:10

Obama did not defeat the most powerful Democratic Machine.
Obama IS the Democratic Machine. He is the benefector and the succesor to the cronyism, nepotism and backdoor politics of the Chicago machine. He did not rise in politics without the mentorship of Emil Jones, who now plans on handing over his congressional seat to his son, who doesnt have a college degree, conveniently after the deadline for adding candidates has passed.
Obama has given his support and endorsed Todd Stroger, the most inept Cook County board president who continues to give raises for himself and hire his relatives. Heck, Todd was handed his office from his father, John, and continues to mismanage it to this day.

How is this hope and change, Obama? Is this what should be expected from your presidency?

No thanks, the American people will pass.

It’s a outrage.

Comment by hank48188 | 2008-08-26 15:43:50

Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, George Soros and the rest of the DNC didn’t want Clinton, Soros pays the bills and calls the shots. Dean had people in all 50 states, paid for by the Party, these folks were used to game the caucus systen in Red states, where Obama built a lead. Then Dean crossed out 2 big Hillary States, Michiganistan and Florida and then the DNC gave Obama 45% of the Michiganistan delegates even though he removed himself from the ballot, that sounds so DEMOCRATIC. “WHY AMERICANS HATE DEMOCRATS” How To Tap Into The Obama Factor, by Donna Brazile, Nov 5, 2004 http://www.slate.com/id/2109328

Basically, these folks are the type that stalk their ex-girlfriends/boyfriends, convinced that they didn’t REALLY mean it when they said, Go Away. Same deal with Hillary: if HRC says yes, she means yes, and if she says no she means yes.

No matter what, they get to live in a fantasy world where HRC is super secretly on their side. They keep doing it right up until the restraining order gets filed.

Comment by Uña de Gato | 2008-08-26 12:11:33

Oh, but we are going far, far away, and that explains Obama’s tepid poll numbers. The only one filing restraining orders is Obama who doesn’t want the truth about his buddy Ayres to come out.

Comment by Right On | 2008-08-26 12:22:48

Obama will win — even though his enemies, including most posters here, jump on every opportunity to exploit voters’ fears of “otherness.”

He’s a brilliant strategist, and that’s put him in the game, despite him being a unique, unorthodox candidate in almost every respect.

Anyone who claims he “should be” 30 points ahead is being disingenuous. He defeated, and then attracted, most of the Dem machine. Now he’s methodically doing what it takes to win in November and manifesting a progressive agenda through a renewed politics.

Comment by Karma | 2008-08-26 12:42:51

LOL!!

Otherness…please.

I don’t like candidates that must push other Dems off of the rolls to win.

That steal other people’s policies.

As well as, to help steal proper housing, schooling, and medical care from their neighbors.

Obama would be thrilled if it was just his name that was the probelm. Then he wouldn’t have to call people racists and file lawsuits to hide his friends and divert attention from the truth.

Then he could actually run on his stolen policies without all the running from his past.

Comment by Right On | 2008-08-26 12:49:34

The vagueness of your “stealing” accusations notwithstanding, this characterization of Obama totally points toward a simple distaste for hardball politics. But then you love it when Hillary plays hardball and even lies (or so you think) for political ends.

Irrational.

Comment by Karma | 2008-08-26 13:33:06

I am not responsible for your ignorance of Obama’s career. If you don’t understand what those refer to then I suggest you need to read more about your candidate. Everyone else here knows exactly what those ’stealing accusations’ are.

While you want to assume that I can’t take hardball while admiring the Clintons. You are the one who is truly irrational since someone can’t be a political wonk without it.

I know all politicians lie, I expect hardball, and the Clintons are fun to watch while doing it.

Obama is a puppet who stole MLKs tone…JFKs words….and Caser Chavez’ battle cry and that is supposed to be impressive?

His path has been cleared for him for him to win elections. It isn’t anything he managed on his own. He couldn’t get a sealed divorced with children opened to the public without puppet masters.

So sorry but a puppet benefitting from subverting democracy isn’t impressive either.

And neither is Obama’s requirement that everyone who runs against him denounce whatever hurt his fee fees that day.

I like the political hardball….but watching Obama ‘play’…is like watching a whiny, spoiled child among men.

Crying for other people’s toys.

Comment by tek | 2008-08-26 12:48:39

Dude have you been listening to the MSM since the 90s?

The press ALWAYS ponders each and every word the Clintons say. FoxNews, CNN, and MSNBC repeatedly stated that familiar theme last night.

Geez…every time they discuss the Clintons it is about what they said and didn’t say. Which trickles down to the debate boards since the MSM like to push their version of what the Clintons really meant. This has been a political debate sport for almost two decades and your twisted mind wraps it up in a stalking case.

Obama wishes his every word was dissected by the media and people around the world the way the Clintons’ words are.

Obama gives a hopey changey speech that makes people feel nice.

The Clintons give the media and citizens so much more to chew over….and they don’t have to plagiarize their speeches.

Ya know substance over style.

Listen up, you fucking stupid tool. Read slowly and carefully, now, Mmmmmmm-Kaaaaaaay?

He is inexperienced, incompetent, corrupt, lacking in judgment, no demonstratable leadership, no national or foreign policy experience.

It’s his fucking gossamer thin RESUME that is the problem.

Two part time jobs (teaching/state legislator), a stint at a law firm where he NEVER tried a case or signed a document, an entry level gig as a social worker–that’s NOT Commander in Chief material.

And don’t even give me “He is a US Senator!” That fucker probably can’t find the men’s room off the rotunda. He dropped his briefcase in his Senate office and started running for President.

JFK spent fifteen YEARS on the Hill. AFTER he commanded a US Navy war vessel IN COMBAT.

It’s his RESUME….not his RACE.

And the people he associates with–Rezko, Ayres, Wright….it’s his COLLABORATORS, not his COLOR.

He is the WORST CANDIDATE EVER.

EVER.

There are none so blind as those who flat-out refuse to see–out of FEAR of being called racists.

Did that happen in your alternate universe?

If you want to remove all context, there are plenty of fringe candidates who fit that description.

But you’re just being a blatantly obtuse moron, because that approach agreeably substitutes for cleverness amongst dullards.

Comment by ritamary | 2008-08-26 13:03:42

I have thought about this a lot. Obama is a much more divisive candidate than George Wallace. First of all, George Wallace was never the nominee of a major political party. His only issue was race.

Obama has divided the country not only along racial lines, but divided us by gender and age.

Comment by Steve1 | 2008-08-26 13:09:45

ritamary Even Goerge Wallace reflected on his racial stance, I don’t excuse him for his past. But he did see the errors of his ways….

As for Mr. Barry Soetoro, there may be some people who will not vote for him because they preceive his lie, that he is a brother from the AA community (race). But most people are looking at his qualifications, his associations, his accomplishments and his personal behavior. Most people see a puppet, blackmailed, controlled, and a compromised indvidual with very little backbone. Propped up by an agenda driven corporate controlled media. In short they see a negative, phony greedy zero.

There are two very interesting poll numbers out today. This after Biden being named the VP candidate and after the first day of the convention. Rasmussen states, the numbers are not what some people had “anticipated” and are bouncing. They are as follows: Obama 44% and McCain 44% and with leaners it is 46 to 46. Obama was expecting a bounce, but prior to these numbers he was up by 4 points. Gallup, for the second day in a row has it as a tie, 45% ro 45% and these number are in the face of, if there is such a thing as the Bradley effect, he will lose 5% to 15% as a result of that effect. this will means big trouble for Obama in the fall.

So the MSM wants to continue to carry Barry’s water, eh? They bleat together, “the Clintons must do everything possible to help Obama, and they will be blamed if he loses.” And if he somehow magically wins? “Why, the Clintons were responsible for the troubles he experienced on his way to the coronation.” Chicagoland tactics and the media have merged now.

I feel worse for Hillary than any time since this campaign began. Here she is, having been screwed by the media and the party rules, and still offering to help, and it ain’t good enough. No, kissing the ring isn’t good enough, but if this pig has been castrated by the lovely Michelle as it would appear, jewelry is the only thing big enough to plant a wet one on.

We may be waiting in purgatory with McCain but it’s better than being in hell with Obama.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-26 12:00:36

I’ve said this before, and I want to say it again. Let’s tell a little story.

Picture a guy who looks a little like, oh…Ron Howard. The Ron Howard of today, not the cute little boy in the Andy of Mayberry programs. He’s about 47 years old. A white, freckled, bald guy, maybe his ears stick out a little. He smokes, but he tries to hide it. Goofy looking, but with a sunny smile.

He has a wife (some call her bossy–she’s comes from a working class background, but got an Ivy League education, and she can make some serious money in her assorted jobs and boards) and he has two adorable little girls–cute as buttons with sweet smiles and winning personalities.

His father was a caucasian fellow from, say, one of those grindingly poor and oppressed former satellites of the old USSR where few Americans have travelled. He was a muslim, who managed to get to the US on a freakishly rare Armand Hammer scholarship program. His mom met his father at college in Hawaii–she was a free spirit originally from the heartland of America who got pregnant with our subject at a young age.

Stupidly, she thought she’d have a life with the baby daddy, not realizing he had another family in East Bumfuckistan, his home nation. He leaves, in short order, so she ends up with a baby, named after the daddy, Igor Lenin Peckerwoodovich. Igor Senior is a dreadful substance abuser (a propensity passed on to the son) and he dies in a drunken driving accident back in East Bumfuckistan.

Later, she marries some Indonesian guy, who helps to raise little Igor in Jakarta, but eventually, and we don’t REALLY know WHY…. Igor gets sent back to his grandparents in Hawaii.

His grandmother, a hard working woman, is the primary breadwinner, supporting little Igor and her lazy potsmoking husband (who likes to drink, get high, and play scrabble with a commie pervert child molester he hangs out with, a fellow named Frank), as a banker. She sends little Igor to the best school on the island. He ends up going to Occidental College, and then on to the Ivy Leagues, ending up at Harvard Law. Wow–what a great accomplishment for our young lad, Igor!!

Igor makes LAW REVIEW, and cashes in on his fifteen minutes of fame by writing a bullshit autobiography about his life without his exotic father from East Bumfuckistan.

He then graduates from school and takes a job as a community organizer in a major city. He joins a rather controversial mega-church that is in a district that’s half rich, and half dirt poor, and the church is stuffed to the rafters full of constituents, er, congregants, numbering in the THOUSANDS–voters, all. The church is led by a minister who is a bit “off the beaten path” when it comes to his philosophies and sermons. The guy can get …. radical, but the congregation loves it.

He also works as a lawyer–but he tries no cases and signs no documents. He does a lot of “city” work in his law firm, interacting with a whole slew of political movers and shakers, many of them as corrupt as Tony Soprano. Later on, to make a few bucks, he puts that Harvard degree to good use by lecturing, PART TIME, at the local law school. He makes enough scratch to live comfortably.

He decides he wants to run for office, so using his community organizing and law firm connections, he manages to get everyone of consequence off the ballot and wins the election to the PART TIME legislative position handily.

He sits on his ass in that job for the longest time, tries to make a run at the US House of Representatives, gets thwarted in the attempt, and then, by a miracle, the GOP incumbent in the US Senate seat IMPLODES. He jumps at the opportunity to run for the seat, and because his competition sucks, he wins!!!

Because he had a winning personality, he was selected to give a speech at the Democratic Convention–and he connected, people said “That Peckerwood has a future!!!” State Senator Peckerwoodovich, by this time, has written another book, offering more details about his life–it gets a nice bump in sales after that convention speech, and he uses the dough to buy a fancy house in a rich neighborhood, and has a somewhat sleazy buddy, later convicted on corruption charges, help him pick it out. The buddy also buys the lot next door and sells him a chunk of it at an affordable price, so he has a nice little yard.

So, here we’ve got a white guy named Igor Lenin Peckerwoodovich…a part time law lecturer, a part time state legislator, brand new to the Senate, corrupt friends, scant resume, no real friends from his past who talk about him at all…..and this Peckerwood wants to be PRESIDENT?

How much criticism would he endure for lack of experience, no demonstrated leadership or judgment, to say nothing of pure…audacity? How much money could he raise? Would he have “fans” mooning over him as if he’s the second coming of Christ?

He’s got a great story–single mother, raised overseas as a child, raised by grandparents, never knew his exotic father….but he’s pasty white and freckled. He has that “first generation” thing going on…but he’s just another ordinary looking white guy. He DOES have a funny name, though! And he’s skinny! Oh, and he can’t bowl, but he can sink a three pointer on the basketball court!

How long would he manage to stay in the race? Even if he could speak loquaciously withOUT a teleprompter? Would he outlast Dodd? Would he raise more money than Kucinich, or Gravel?

Would he be a superstar…all else being equal?

I don’t think he would.

Would odd details in his lifestory go unquestioned, unchallenged? Would he be permitted to remain an unvetted mystery? Would people be hypnotized by his sloganeering– “Yes We Can” and “Change You Can Believe In” and “We are The Idiots We’ve Been Waiting For!”

Would all criticism be suspended for the skinny guy with the exotic dead father and the funny name?

Of course it wouldn’t. If Igor Lenin Peckerwoodovich made it as far as Barack Hussein Obama, the media would have set upon Igor like a pack of dogs and torn him limb from limb. He wouldn’t be coddled, he wouldn’t be excused, and difficult questions would be asked.

Of course, it’s racist if you say so, unfortunately.

Geraldine Ferraro was right- If Barry was a white guy he’d have been out of the race with Johhnny Pig Edwards.

This is way, way over the top. You people are obsessive.

Hillary doesn’t have to participate in this convention… do you think the rest of us want this week to be all about the Clintons? She and Bill wanted a big role in this convention, and guess what? If they want a big role, they’re going to have to be helpful. The world does not revolve around Hillary and Bill.

Hillary was never going to be president because half of this country feels that they could never EVER vote for her AND we were in for more of Bill’s scandals. Obama’s chances aren’t good either, as you know.

What Democrat is going to win against the right-wing propaganda machine? This country is beginning to look like Nazi Germany, and we’re worrying about Hillary’s feelings?

Fuck that! We should be working together against the fascist tendencies of the other party. You don’t have to like Obama.

If you want to spend the next 4 years looking forward to Hillary’s next big chance, it is certainly your right to do so, but I think there are more important things.

Maybe if I were 80 years-old and didn’t have a daughter, I wouldn’t care.

Comment by mimi | 2008-08-26 12:21:14

Sorry, but more fascist behavior has come from the 0bama campaign.

BTW, Hillary and Bill were put on the spot. They started harping on Bill not doing enough for 0bama. Bill made a statement that he hadn’t even been asked. But I guess details aren’t important.

The DNC knows that they had to have the Clintons present to have the appearance of Party unity. But it’s been the 0bama campaign that wants to dictate every picayune detail of their speeches and so forth and they’re the ones passing the meme that the Clintons are making it all about them.

You obviously haven’t seen Hillary campaigning and raising money for 0bama. Yet he won’t even help to retire her debt.

There’s a lot to go around.

Frankly, I wish they weren’t speaking. But since they are and since Clinton WAS a POTUS and Barack is still only the presumptive nominee, you’d think his campaign would be gracious. No they want to kick the two of them around like dirt and people like you are with that. Michelle LIED on Bill Clinton and has yet to apologize. She said that she’d like to “scratch his eyes out.” She also said she didn’t know if she could vote for Hillary if she had been the nominee.

Still, Hillary put all the campaign rhetoric aside and is campaigning for 0bama, but still the Botheads need to kick them, spit on them, blame them and every other despicable negative action. They keep giving the Clintons attitude as if that’s going to make us vote for him.

Keep it up.

Fascist? 0bama voted for FISA. Botheads threaten and bully.

Get your facts right.

EVERY FORMER PRESIDENT ALWAYS HAS A BIG PART IN THE CONVENTION.

It’s called RESPECT, and HONOR.

You also have the only successful woman to have such a smashing impact during a Presidential race, who received 18,000,000 votes.

Comment by Karma | 2008-08-26 13:49:05

If you are 80 then why don’t you know that the Clintons would have been speaking at the convention even if Edwards, Dodd, or Kucinich had won?

The former Dem President always speaks at the convention and as a well known First Lady and sitting Senator. Hillary has spoken at past conventions and would be given that honor this year for being the Dem with the most votes.

Did you get that? There are three separate reasons why Hillary would speak at this convention.

This MSM theme that the Clintons are taking over the convention is filling ignorant minds with lies.

They would be speaking there even if Hillary didn’t run for President.

Geez….wake up Obots and fill your brain with opinions formed from facts not derision from the MSM!

I can possibly agree with you.

From his early teenage years being influenced by Frank Davis, marxist poet and do-gooder who is supposed to have been some sort of Soviet Union spy in Hawaii at that time, BHO’s fast and hard political rise, direction of his education (going to Columbia Law School and being “voted” as Editor of the Harvard Law Review due to some flack being provided at that time in history because the previous editor was an asian, and someone created a lot of flack that there was a need for an ” AA” representation for that docket also, which brought about the nomination of BHO to that position )
there seems something a bit unnatural about his acute rise to political fame.

Has he handlers from somewhere else, occasionally giving him directions? Some of his outwardly external “gaffes” appear to be “signals” that means “everything is still a go”…

Normal individuals who seem to get a political calling, don’t just get everything to fall in line so quickly…somebody somewhere who is behind the DNC and DEAN and Brazile, could be calling the shots.

We are living in interesting times … and it’s going to get worse.
As it stands today the race is a toss up. It shouldn’t be but it is. With Bush the Lesser’s performance, from 911 to Katrina to Iraq and beyond, McCain shoud be at 25%.
After the coronation the RNC and the 527’s will really let loose, what happens then? There’ll be an email campaign against Obama with all the lies Muslim, maddrassa, and more. The “Moran”-America segment of the population will eat it up, the racists will vote their feelings. There is nothing Obama or anyone can do about that segment of America, Bush’s 25%ers.
But the 527 and RNC TV ads are a different matterthey will be based on facts that can’t be refuted.
How does he defend his relationship with Ayers?
How dose he refute Tony Resko’s help buying the expensive house?
How does he justify sitting in that TUCC pew for twenty years?
He can’t and he can’t fall back on his record either.
Neck and neck with McCain and the fun hasn’t even started.
And for you trolls, no amount of DNC whining is going to change that.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-26 12:22:32

What helps McCain to no small extent is the way that Bush, using Rove, went after him VICIOUSLY in 2000, using every dirty trick and then some in the book.

The fact that Bush hated him, and really stuck it to him, suggests to voters that he’s most definitely NOT BUSH–no matter what endorsements come down the pike.

Bush crapping on him eight years ago served to inoculate McCain to no small degree.

The problem i have is that these Obamabots think its only about Obambi. This is about a party that has abandoned its core principles. The Democratic Party has fixed a primary to support a man that has done a 180 on most of the platform the Democratic Party has run on, from FISA,energy policy (A.K.A off shore drilling and clean burning coal, what ever that is),fair, full representation and equal rights of all persons, regardless of race creed, gender, sexual orientation. Obambi believes in seperate but equal.Obama has made religion a central theme of his campaign, with his faith rallies and faith based policies. Don’t be pissed at Saddleback if Obama looked bad. he invited that one and the DNCC allowed that vile woman,Reverend Leah D. Daughtry,CEO and cheif of Staff of the DNC, to give the welcome to the Convention.

This about a party that has abandoned is people and allowed it to be run by those that have ulterior motives.

For me , it is less about Hillary than it is about the Party itself allowing Dean, Brazile, and Reverend Leah D. Daughtry, an anti-gay Pentecostal preacher, to run roughshod over certain groups in order to achieve their desired result.

The Clinton and Obama camps agreed to limit Wednesday’s potentially divisive nominating process for president, allowing some states to cast votes for both Obama and Clinton before ending the roll call in an acclamation for the Illinois senator.

In one scenario, Clinton herself would cut off the voting and urge the unanimous nomination of Obama, according to Democratic officials involved in the negotiations. They discussed the deal on condition of anonymity while final details were being worked out.

But some Clinton delegates said they were not interested in a compromise, raising the prospect of unwelcome floor demonstrations.

“I don’t care what she says,” said Mary Boergers, a Maryland delegate who wants to cast a vote for Clinton.

Gloria Allred, a California celebrity lawyer and pledged Clinton delegate, briefly disrupted a breakfast meeting of the California delegation on Tuesday. Wearing a gag over her mouth, she protested efforts to discourage Clinton supporters from speaking out.

I can’t believe people are falling for these Republican Party dirty tricks. You are about to vote against your own interests. Listen to what HILLARY is saying. She is trying to unite the party, and you people are ignoring her. She’s teling you exactly why it’s in your interest to support Democrats, and you ignore her. Well, if you let your bitterness decide your vote, instead of your brains, you will get exactly what you deserve. Your children will be paying for all the debt McCain will add to our nation, and your children or grandchildren will likely be fighting his next war in Iran, Iraq, or the Republic of Georgia. You will look like former Nader voters who helped swing the election for Bush.

You are being EXPLOITED by people who hate you and your positions. You’re being tricked by Karl Rove tactics.

I pray that you will listen to Hillary’s words tonight and take them to heart. Our country cannot stand more of the same policies. The working and middle class cannot continue to be destroyed. We cannot let all the rights women have fought for to be eroded. People need health care to save their lives. Our kids need an education.

There is a much bigger picture here. This is about the future of America. This is about our children’s future.

Do you think McCain would be running a clean campaign against Hillary had she been the nominee? No, he’d be using even worse smear tactics he’s using against Obama. McCain would be using the same tactics to try to TRICK Obama supporters into backing McCain/Republicans.

I am struggling to understand why you feel that anyone who posts or speaks anything anti-Obama is trying to ‘trick’ people into supporting McCain. Heck, when I post here I ID myself as a centrist Republican so people KNOW who I am. I’ve said it before, if the election were between Hillary and McCain, 99% of the people here would vote for Hillary. I and the other 1% would vote for McCain. The campaign would be heated, it would be hard-fought and it would highlight the ISSUES based on intelligence, not vague hints at hope and anti-American rhetoric. And regardless of who won, the losing side would NOT go to sleep at night worried about whether our country would be safe in the hands of the other candidate or not. THAT, in essence, is the problem with Obama. For him, it is NOT about ‘country first’, it is about Obama first. Obama’s place in history, Obama’s wants and needs.

It is amazingly condescending to paint people with such a broad brush. But when race is the only thing you have to fall back on, and race is the ulimate broad brush, then I guess it’s not surprising.

Take care,

THAT didn’t work.

Now, it’s the “You’re Being EXPLOITED” card.

No, we aren’t. The President DOES NOT MAKE LAW. Congress does. The President does not appoint ANYONE. He only NOMINATES.

The SENATE has the final say.

Those lazyass Democrats in the Senate are gonna have to WORK for the next four years…AWWWWW.

They won’t be able to be a rubber stamp for an inexperienced meglomaniac. They will have to contest a GOP President. They’ll have close to a supermajority, so it shouldn’t be too hard.

You tell those Democrats on the Hill to look after our children’s future for the next four years, OK?

Oh–and if Obama was going to win, Biden would step aside and let another Democrat run for his Senate seat….but he’s not stupid. He’s pulling a Lieberman, and he’ll be on the ballot for both jobs.

Ain’t that special!

So, no matter how much the Obama campaign may be
looking to be absolved of the responsiblity of the
need to get out and earn the votes by WORKING for
them! They’e not like delegates where someone can
just give’em YOU! Rep. Loretta Sanchez said, today,
“there’s alot that his campaign could be doing to
reach to Hillary’s supporters, they haven’t done it.” She plans to support the ticket but, she has not personally endorsed him. She’s waiting for him

That’s rich! When Bill Clinton was President, he was respected abroad and the USA was greatly respected, but the Obama campaign intentionally and purposefully set about to destroy the Clinton name and reputation. Clinton left office with an approval rating in the mid-60’s, even given the dirt thrown by the Republicans. Obama can barely get the support of 50% of his own party. Personally, I’m not eager to put another “old white guy” into office for another 4 years, but I’m terrified for the future of this country at the prospect of putting the other totally inexperienced and crooked guy into office. Either Putin will eat him for breakfast, or he’ll let Carter and Z’Big talk him into fulfilling their 25 year fantasy of a war with Russia. While McCain can certainly sound hawkish, I’ll give him the edge on experience and judgment in a crisis situation.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-08-26 12:40:54

It’s really a sad situation because Hillary and Bill Clinton are trying as hard as they can to remain within the power circle of the Democratic Party. The have allies here and there but the obvious reign of terror has begun with the objective of punishing any of the traditional DNC powerhouses who have dared to cross Obama. And those in power, the Obamas, the Kennedys, la Pelosi, Howard Dean, et al, have made it clear that the Clintons are no longer wanted nor needed. Another name that comes to mind is Charlie Rangel. His exclusion from the big party in Denver is shocking. As chair of the Ways and Means Committee, and with his long service in Congress (despite his recently uncovered disgraceful flaunting of NYC’s rent stabilization regulations for his own gain), should merit him respect and a role in “the future.” There has never been a more opportune time to start a third party, a centrist party, to claim the issues and the coalition building that has all but been abandoned by the Obama Democratic Party. With a major primary campaign behind her, Hillary knows where she was vulnerable and in which states she has a solid foundation. If Donna Brazile’s strategy of uncovering other “Obamas” in other states and grooming them as future Democratic candidates comes to pass, in four years time, the Democrats of the Center will be even less powerful. I am sad to consider a reality in which Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and their approach to successful politics and government will be irrelevant to the Democratic Party in the future. Her power base of 18 million votes, her organization — and the need to tighten it up and make it work better in all 50 states, will be squandered with any more pandering to the delusional Obamas and their need for the Clintons to “pay tribute” to Barack Obama. Hillary needs to capitalize on what she achieved. I would rather see her making her speech on a sidewalk in Denver tonight, in her true role as leader of the people, than on the podium of this sham convention. I didn’t watch last night, don’t intend to watch this night or any other night. I’m from New York. If I want theater, good theater, I go to Broadway. What I wanted to see this year in Denver was a renewal, not just for the Democrats, but for my country. What I’m seeing instead is the beginning of a dictatorship.

Comment by Joy | 2008-08-26 21:26:38

There are many in the Democratic Party, Nancy Pelosi among them, who didn’t like the way the Clintons threw them under the bus during his presidency (too centralist.) And this is Nancy’s show and she’s sticking it to the Clintons ever chance she gets. Nancy is John McCain’s new best friend each time she pushes the party further left.

This country is in deep trouble. When supposed feminists will vote for 4 more years of Republican power that is hell bent on taking women’s rights away. Look at the courts. You are all Republicans now and your party has been taken over by right wing religious zealots and neocons! Even my 90 year old mom, a lifelong Republican, can see this.

Do you honestly believe hat allowing an infant born alive after a botched abortion to DIE is what I marched for? You’re and your “mom” are sick people.

BeeBop

You should stop with the personal attacks. My mom is very anti-abortion. I was talking about the GOP has been too influenced by relgious zealots and neocons. This was not just about abortion. Abortion is a personal choice and one I hope is rarely used. I completely agree with Hillary on this. I just know that most of the Hillary people here seem to come off as feminists that believe this was the time to get a women in the White House. It would have been nice and can still happen but not this time. I was just wondering how a feminist could vote for McCain when he so solidly stated his views at Saddleback Church. I am starting to realize that most of you Hillary supporters think voting for McCain is because you don’t think GOP has been so bad or you just have such hatred for Obama. I came to this site to understand why you are unsupportive of getting a Democrat in the White HOuse. I cannot understand why after the last eight years you would support the GOP candidate but that is your choice.

Comment by Bugs Bunny | 2008-08-26 13:27:02

All I can say is that the “supposed feminists” can plainly see that they are being ripped off by their own party.
The DNC leadership has brought this mess squarely on themselves.
Listen to your mom for this election cycle.

I would say you are being used by the GOP so they can keep the White House and complete the destrution of our government. The DNC needs to reform for sure but why don;t you work on that instead of going over to the dark side.

You mean the Dem control senate who will not block Neocon justice really are the ones who care about women rights? How can this be a problem if they really care about women rights?

Are you telling me that in the 21st century, women are still victims that need protection from their big brothers and sisters(like you)? Grow up! I see today’s women as strong and perfectly capable of making their choice whether pro-life or pro-choice, which is a personal issue. No government will be able to take that away.

Where is Obama during the raging sexism in the primary? Oh, right, his enjoying the benefit from it. But now that it is to his benefit, he’s all about women rights. What, are you born yesterday?

Comment by Jann | 2008-08-26 14:58:13

Women’s rights are not just about choice. I was around before abortions were legal and birth control was not readily available. Both Obama and Clinton share the same views on this subject. The best way to avoid abortion is through birth control but the GOP has most definitely embraced a religious agenda with abstinance as its policy. Check out what they are trying to do with availabilty of birth control. They agree that doctors and pharmacists do not have to dispense prescriptions that are legal if it is against their religion. They do not believe these healthworkers even need to let the customer know that they will not provide these prescriptions or that they must to refer them elsewhere.

Comment by andySF | 2008-08-26 15:37:26

You still haven’t answer my question as to where is Obama. And you think a person who have not once denounce the network in the whole primary season for raging sexism will really be the champion of women issue?

Shouldn’t it be parent’s responsibility on teaching their child of birth control issue? I recall having sex ed in my high school years( and that’s almost 20yrs ago). In the information age, you actually think that information is not readily available?

Isn’t it funny that it is Obama who’s trying to pander to the right by his support to expand faith base programs(does separation of church and state mean anything to you?). Once you let religion into policy making, how do you expect to put the worms back into the can? I can see the republican doing that, but a democrat?

I am Indy, so I don’t hate rep or Dem. We are all American. So no need to preach me of the party crap. All I know is that with Dem control of both of houses, any failure to stop the republican will be the Dem’s undoing.

Also, as a minority, the race baiting of Obama camp turn me off. It will turn back race relation 30 years. For most young white people who think that electing a black men is more important than actually electing a person who have minority interest in heart just go to show that the country is not really truly over Race yet.

Also, tell me, when was the last time you see a fortune 500 company hire a mid management from one of their division to be their CEO? It laughable. I had always think that giving 8 years as VP will make him a great president. But I guess the mentality nowadays is that I want it now regardless of consequences.

If he is ever elected president, he will shut the door for minority candidate for decades to come. A failure of presidency will reinforce the stereo type that minority just aren’t ready to lead. If you want a feel good moment that works, give me a minority candidate that’s qualify.

Anyone who follow skin color and blind party loyalty are the real low information voter to me.

I said that both Clinton and Obama hold my views which is pro choice.

So Obama is to blame for Chris Matthew’s sexism? I read newspapers, magazines, books and watch a variety of network news, PBS and cable crap. While I agree there was some sexism I do feel that Obama is not to blame.

It is a parent’s duty to talk to their kids about sex but many do not. I certainly know that kids can get information online. I am mainly concerned about efforts by certain religious groups to make it very difficult to get contraception or an abortion.

I am not happy with Obama’s faithbased view. I also admit that I do not agree with him on other issues. I disagreed with Hillary on her Iraq war vote but I would have voted for her. In fact I am not infatuated with Obama at all. He was not my first choice. I do not fear him either.

I figured you as a libertarian. I am a Dem but do not like what has become of this party or the GOP. I can remember when both parties had decency and cared about the Republic. Both parties are run by big money which has corrupted the system. I believe that the Reps have done a terrible job. I guess you don’t. It is time to make a switch and let the dems have a hand. Maybe next time the indys will have a chance if they can unite for a third party.

I am not a minority so I cannot be in your shoes. I do not support Obama because he is black.

Experience can be over rated. Many of our best Presidents had very little experience.
George W said he would run the government like a CEO - look where that got us. My view of the presidency is that it was designed as a balance of powers between the three branches. I want to see that restored. It may not happen right away. I do think Obama is some God who will come in and make miracles. He is one person who will have a mighty tough time in this divisive system we have now. I just think some pushback is in order.

Originally I was hoping for a Hillary/Obama ticket. I would have supported either as I see them as having very similar views. She does seem tougher while he is more composed. They are both very intelligent and speak well. Let’s face it - the DNC primary system stinks. It should have been changed long ago. What happened in FL and MI was very bad. But Clinton signed on as did Obama. She may have won if it was by popular vote and all states counted and there were no superdelegates or caucuses. But it did not work out that way.

I really do not know why you so sure that Obama will fail and it will hurt minorities. I hope you are wrong.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-26 17:37:25

We don’t have a “divisive system” right now. It was divisive when the Democrats had no voice, the GOP Congress and President ran roughshod over them, and the rank and file were furious that our legislators were rolling over to get small gains, because if they didn’t, they’d get none at all.

THAT shit was “divisive.”

We haven’t had a divisive system since the last election. We have a system now that is orderly and that includes checks and balances.

The Democrats own the House and the Senate. They have the majority in both chambers. They set the agenda, they make the rules.

This election will likely give the Dems a legislative SUPERMAJORITY–a veto proof majority. Checks and balances–with TEETH.

If you like BALANCE, you don’t want a Dem Congress rubberstamping an inexperienced meglomaniac. That is what would happen if Obama is elected.

We’ll survive McCain. And I suspect McCain is more of a centrist than most people realize, or he’ll dare admit.

See, McCain knows how the Hill works. He’s served in BOTH the House and the Senate. Before that, he was at OLA (Office of Legislative Affairs).

He gets the neccessity for compromise.
He understands separation of powers–better than Obama and his crew, certainly.

Obama WILL fail, because he is inexperienced, he’s believing his own publicity, and his “advisors” are either neophytes or tired old public servants who haven’t had a new idea in years–some, like Misha’s daddy Zbiggy, are downright SCARY, with aggressive motivations and a desire to settle scores. This isn’t JFK’s kitchen cabinet (though you could credit them with some fuckups, too), these are idiots like Samantha “Bigmouth” Power, and “I’m Not A Lobbyist, But I Work For Them And Act Like One” Axelrod. They’re craven and creepy. We also don’t need King Barack threatening to smite members of Congress if they don’t obey the Boyking and do his bidding.

Let the GOP have the Presidency. It’s a show job when you have an opposition Congress. He’ll take the blame.

We’ll keep the legislative branch–where laws are made, money is dispensed, and nominees are approved.

Checks and balances.

Comment by andySF | 2008-08-26 18:10:09

I am not blaming him for the sexism. The fact that he had never once denounce it because it was to his benefit is a serious flaw. A person without core value in that regard. A person who would not stand-up for their principle have no principle all.

As i also said, the race baiting of his camp turn me off. Crying wolf isn’t going to work. He lost my vote when he didn’t come out strong when his people painted Bill as a racist(or racial tone, whatever you want to call it). he was doing that to McCain just recently. But doing it to one of your own and someone who had done so much for the minority just make me sick. Playing the race card reinforce the view of those very people who still holds stereo type views.

The fact that he have use the new politic issue to ousted Hillary and do a 180 now is further proof of his lack of principle. It will be call false advertising in sells pitch, and liable for law sue.

As I point out that a person without conviction can’t be trusted to fulfil he’s promise. In light of the recent flip[ on FISA and drilling, tax issue and faith base stand. And his lack of the history will won’t make me trust him.

I am not with any party, but have never voted for anyone other than democrat. They are more close to my view on most issue. I guess you and I do share the view of what the two party had become(extremist who does not care enough for the average American). Power garbing blinded them from their core belief.

Have the republican nominated anyone else but McCain, I would had seat out this election. Since California is a blue state, me and my family with 8 votes might not have to vote.

I hated GWB, but seeing Obama as a more charming version of the same. I know you may not agree with me, but that’s how I felt. Obama is too cocky and aragon to be a good leader. A little more season over time may make the different. When his camp fought for those lousy 4 delegate from MI made me rethink my belief that his smart(I had always believed that until May 31).

His energy stand is also bad. Ethanol is a bad answer to climate change. And his claim of 1 mil 150 mpg hybrid in 4 yrs is just unreal when they don’t even have any plug in hybrid in the pipe line that can do more that 70 mpg.

His tax policy on dividend will hurt senior citizen who’s on fixed income. His capital gain tax policy also have the same effect on people who are selling their home before retirement.

He does not support universal health care. he’s policy was pretty similar to McCain’s.

He have no plan for balance budget. He only mention it as a after though because McCain brought it up.

As I said, a Dem control congress should maintain the balance of power if they did their job. They haven’t so far.

I had a lot of respect for Bill Clinton. Started pick up English at the age of 14, military right after high school in the late 80s, not much of a formal education, yet was able to achieved financial freedom at the age of 34, all thanks to the Clinton administration. Therefor, anyone who painted him a racist lose my vote. The other issues that I list above is just a confirmation of my decision.

An article like Errol Louis’ “Rambunctious Clinton loyalists…” needs some more reaction, imho. They certainly aren’t acting like “brats.” They are protesting a contentious, sexist, and unfair primary. I’d describe them as “patriots.” Children throw tantrums, Louis, and these are mature adults who feel their candidate, as I do, was cheated out of the dem nomination; don’t infantilize this process of disagreement. The risk of losing the White House began with the DNC tactics.

What is happening at the convention is logical and much worst would be occurring if the shoe was on the other foot–Obama’s.

Oh, there it is again. The coathanger threat1

If any of you really gave a rip about women’s rights or any of the other high-minded positions you espouse, you would have supported the candidate who has spent decades fighting for those issues. Fighting and WINNING.

Instead, you chose to support a lying con artist and thoroughly denigrate that true champion of those issues. Now, when it’s too late and your empty suit is tanking, you want to pretend you’re doing it for our (or our childrens’) own good. Well, I don’t have children, and I marched my tootsies off and donated money I didn’t have to protect my rights, and it looks like you’ll have to do the same, now. Oh well.

A lot of Hillary supporters never saw those lovely gestures from the classless Ibama. They need to see it to put the finger on what the gut says about this ass clown.

I just checked the difference in votes in 2000 in the presidential election, 543,895+ Gore, and in 2004, 3,012,166+ Bush.

Two reactions:
1st: Obama BETTER worry about the Hillary supporters who won’t be voting for him Nov. 4th.

2th: Obama BETTER think up some more dirty tricks to win the general or he’s toast.

How does one make a leap from saying they don’t want Hillary a part of ANY ticket with Obama, to complaining about it and upset he did’t pick her.

For me, at least, I am GLAD she is not the other half on that sinking Titanic.

And as far as him not workig for her..is that what we really want?! I remember someone telling him on Fox that his help wasn’t needed because Hillary’s debt was paid off.
