No Class

Carter: McCain ‘milking’ POW time
Former president Jimmy Carter called Republican presidential candidate John McCain a “distinguished Naval officer,” but said the Arizona senator has been “milking every possible drop of advantage” from his time served as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
You can watch the video of Carter’s comments.
Good god almighty.
It’s yet another example of why Democrats have had only ONE two-term president since Franklin Roosevelt.

Carter was elected based on Watergate, the Nixon pardon and Bilderberger Jerry Ford declaring that there was “no Soviet domination” of Poland.
AND HE WAS HONEST
Not being polemical here but didactic. The pre-Reagan Republican party was a mess. The Republican party under the Bushies is a mess.
These are the conditions required for Democrats to win, not that I want it to happen…
I have heard “community organizer” at least as much as I’ve heard P.O.W.
snosandy
Excellent, succinct point. “Community Organizer” and, boy, does that have different views and interpretations.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. “Community organizers” are nothing more than rabble rousers. They derive their power from unhappy people in adverse situations–so it’s to their benefit to create discord.
Finally, something Barry has experience doing. Creating discord. Like we didn’t already know THAT.
Really?
In a debate with Reagan, Carter said…”I had a discussion with my daughter, Amy, the other day, before I came here, to ask her what the most important issue was. She said she thought nuclear weaponry — and the control of nuclear arms.”
Amy was 13 at the time and many people believed he made it up.
maybe Carter had intelligent discussions at the dinner table with his family and she DID know what she was saying….no one thought he made it up at the time, they just thought it was sort of stupid to act as if his 13 year old daughter was an authority on world issues. you don’t know what you are talking about.
Nothing like running a Peanut Farm to be ready for Governor.
PS.
Your utter ignorance is showing.
Yeah Carter enough of Heroism and Torture. How bout the Community Organizer? Lets hear more about that.
Let’s not follow Carter’s BAD example.
Carter was in the Navy and he passed Admiral Rickover’s very strict qualifications to be an officer on nuclear Sub.
Then Carter went back to peanut farming and then Governor.
I never voted for Carter the first time — no absentee ballot was available from CA. I never voted for Carter the second time because he threw in the towel BEFORE I got to the polling place — slap in the face to the West Coast.
Today Carter is a stupid jerk — he is giving Southerners a bad name. But then what can one expect from an individual who is afraid of rabbits?
And Let’s not forget that Carter made the Rickhover cut, which was a very, very select club for submariners .
That being said, Carter has spent a fair amount of his retirement time monitoring elections in other countries, and I know he’s old.
But it would have been nice if he had monitored the 2008 Democratic caucus-primary fiasco here in the good ole USA.
BINGO!
Actually, he was elected because Ford unconditionally pardoned Richard Nixon without first conditioning the American public to the possibility that a pardon could be forthcoming. I think that Ford did the right thing in pardoning Nixon, simply because if he hadn’t done so, prosecuting him would have taken up way too much of his time. If he’d let the public know that he might have to pardon Nixon for this reason and had given them time to get used to the idea, it wouldn’t have hurt him. But when the pardon came out of the blue, it really upset a lot of people, and that’s what gave Carter his narrow margin of victory in 1976.
Why don’t they just come out and say that McCain got himself captured and became a POW in the most cynical and calculated move so that he could tout that experience in his run for the Presidency?
Or they could just check Carter’s meds and put him in a padded room. And throw the freakin trolls in there with him.
noTrollZone — I left the Democratic Party just in time–they are nuts.
Dean called the Republican Party the Party of White People.
Brazile and Dean said the base of the Democratic Party can stay home because we can be replaced.
Kerry says Obama will make a great President because he’s Black.
Biden calls Obama clean.
Now Carter says McCain shouldn’t push the fact that he was tortured.
Landslide against the losers. Go McCain
I suppose the New Obama Party thinks this is an intelligent strategy to gain support?
NOT
A few months ago an Obot acquaintance made a disparaging remark about McCain’s time as a POW .
I told her that if she thought that was a strategy for victory in the GE, I hoped the Obama campaign would roll with it.
Well, they rollin’.
yeah, let them roll. nothing like firing up the neocon base, piss them off and they ignite like charging bulls for the polls.
Heck –
Carter’s slap in the fact to McCain torks me off to no end and I’m not Republican – I find it utterly disgusting. Hope they keep it up – just shows them for what they are or what they’ve become.
Good answer!
Yes! Let them roll with the POW diss. I’d love that.
Lead the charge Jimmy!
not going to outfox you? lol
Now that was tacky of Carter.
Disrespectful. No one should ever go through what that man was put through as a POW. As a fellow human, he crossed the line.
Maybe because it was the defining moment of his life? Anyone who survives five years being imprisoned and tortured has a bit of a right to consider it a formative experience.
Obama living in Indonesia was a very formative experience for him, that’s why he can’t connect to Americans, he doesn’t share our experiences of life here.
I agree with SFK here. I like Jimmy Carter most of the time, and I think his biggest mistake was that he simply picked a bad time to run for president–no one could have come through those four years smelling like a rose–but that remark was thoughtless.
In truth Ivory Bill, it was a bit more than thoughtless. It was unacceptable coming from a former POTUS!
The AA community skewered Bill Clinton for a remark he DIDN’T make. And here Carter makes a blatantly disgusting remark about McCain exploiting his time as a POW.
I knew someone who was shellshocked from Viet Nam and they weren’t a POW. It was just tragic and painful to see this.
I used to be a loyal Democrat, but now I can say I was a fool to roll with these people for this long.
I used to like and admire Carter, but that remark along with his support of 0bama changed my point of view. It was a contemptible thing to say publicly. It was not being honest, it was being downright offensive and mean.
what a shame to see carter lower himself like that. does he not get that now no one will pay attention to one thing he has to say.
I used to have a lot of respect for Carter. I’ve always thought he was a great humanitarian. I just didn’t think he should have been president. I’m sorry he cared too much. With his comment he just washed away any respect I had for him.
He’s also no longer a humanitarian. A true humanitarian would never make a comment like that about someone who had a hard time even walking across an airfield. That couldn’t even hug his own children because he’d been tortured and beaten for 6 years. McCain didn’t start that war. McCain could have walked away from that war several times. He could have walked away from being a POW, but he didn’t. Why? Because he refused to go without his fellow Americans.
SFK — I remember when the Democratic Party had respect for people who accomplished something. Now they distain experience so they can sell a community organizer who may or may not be an American. Party on — Is this what happened to Atlantis?
LOSER!
If they keep this up, the DNC will have no one left in it by the time the Nov. election comes around.
This man has zero class. Every day I read something and can’t believe I defended this party and thought they were above the GOP.
Typical comment from the least effective Democratic president. I guess we know why Carter is not speaking to the audience, eh? What a classless performance. Shocking.
I can’t even be bothered with Mr. Carter anymore.
How sad, very very sad…….
old pres. carter needs to go back to ga and play with his p-nuts…am sure he can find some billy beer left over from the good ol days…
PEANUTS!…PEANUTS!…PEANUTS! anyone?
In my opinion Obama has milked his melanin content for all it’s worth. He and Michelle have milked their alleged poverty-stricken upbringings as much as possible as well.
But McCain shouldn’t talk about his past? Ridiculous.
truthtopowergrabbers — In my next life I want to be poor enough to go to Harvard.
You certainly have a point. For someone who was raised by white people, abandoned by his African father and probably knew very few blacks down in Hawaii, he is very afrocentric.
Am I the only one noticing the irony here– a former president who circles the globe monitoring elections for fairness– taking sides for Obama?
No. Jimmy Carter with this tacky observation and his hypocritical support of Obama is going to earn for himself, along with his long sought after Nobel Peace Prize, a special place in Circle Eight of Dante’s Inferno…the place reserved for hypocrites.
Furthermore, neither Obama nor anyone in his campaign nor anyone supporting him is entitled to say one word about McCain exploiting anything after the shameful race-baiting primary they conducted.
It is outrageous.
No, you’re not the only one. I used to think very highly of Jimmy Carter. Not the best president ever, but he’s been a really great former president-until now.
I say to President Carter that Obama is milking
everydrop of advantage from him playing the race card! I respect and look at John McCain as a HERO!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mtzb0Krz-9Q&eurl=http://www.audacityofhypocrisy.com/
larse 12 — McCain is a hero to me too. I want to hear about his life as a POW. His strength in that awful time made him the man he is today.
I like Jimmy Carter; he warned us years ago about the looming oil crisis; he’s underrated.
That said, why didn’t he say anything about Obama milking race and sexist issues during the primary campaign?
Presdent Carter has lust in his heart for Barack – forgive him!
forgive him for what? caring about his country and supporting his causes?
Causes like voter fraud and suppression?
Obama was never sexist during this race. And he didn’t play the race card either. Please explain the times that he was.
Hey Kelvin,
Have you reconciled that Ayers thing yet?
There’s nothing there. If you have pictures of Ayers and Obama making bombs, then yeah, I’d be upset. However, the fact that they were on a board together raising money for local underprivileged schools is no big deal. There were many prominent Chicagoans on that board. Are the all terrorist sympathizers? Or is only Obama one, you know, since he defeated Hillary and all.
all the money they raised went to wrights church
I guess you were in one of your drunken stupors when he talked about the bitter white folks.
Just dry up you twit of a bot.
99 Problems and a Bitch ain’t one
I would like you to explain how playing addicted to love was Pres. Clinton was leaving the stage after speaking on BOs behalf last night is AOK. It is not to me and many other of the 18 million people who happen to like and even LOVE the Clintons and what they accomplished while Bill as in office. It only served only to infuriate me further. This was not low class, it was NO class. I felt like I had been sucker punched. He shouldn’t even have spoken in BOs behalf and I really hope that he doesn’t lift one finger to get him elected considering the way that they show their gratitude.
Bill Clinton was one hell of a president and the BO campaign has done nothing but tear down what he did for this country, ignore it, praise R. Regan!!! and paint the Clintons as racist, etc., etc., ad nauseum.
I would like you to explain how having Jim Leach, a REPUBLICAN who was instrumental in wasting millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money trying to pin something on the Clintons, how having him speak at the Democratic convention wasn’t a slap in the face to the Clintons…
BO won, but he still can’t show any class, can’t let it go, can’t let the Clinton’s get the love and adoration that they DESERVE for the work that they have done. BO has done nothing so far, except alienate a large part of the 18 million that voted for Hillary. I don’t think I want a person for president that is so peevish and jealous of another.
This kind of change (I cannot believe in..), I plan on not voting for a president in November. I have no doubts that the hits will keep coming. My 88 year old mother missed the music afterwards so I told her about it, she was not happy at all. She thought it was extremely disrespectful as did I. I can’t believe how juvenille and hateful BO is.
Gee, did they really do that?
What am I saying? They’ve shown no class all along.
0bama is a petty, vindictive, small man.
Except for his ears that is.
Obama was impilictly sexist because he didn’t say word one about sexist attacks on Hillary – all while Hillary was constantly praising this moment in history when a black man and a woman could run for the presidency.
Obama, saying he didn’t know if Bill Clinton was a “brother” because he hadn’t seen him dance – in a NATIONAL DEBATE. What if Hillary had said that??
And then there’s Obama’s blather about how “they’re gonna vote against me because I’m different”.
Obama is one cynical person; he has played the libs like fools, pushing every liberal button in the book, and then he threw the whole lot of them under the bus when he reversed course after the primary.
And you’re voting for this guy?? Whew!!!
phil — I think there has been a party switch. I never thought I would say this but Repubs are kewl.
Maybe he can visit Jeremiah Wright’s “church” to expunge his demons
heh heh. Yes, I believe he does have the lust in his heart for Barry. Perhaps it’s clogging his arteries and the oxygen isn’t getting to his brain anymore.
I like him too. Never mind the nastygrams from the cheerleaders, if Clinton had been nominated, the same group would be singing Carter’s praises for castigating McCain.
That said, the Democrats must be in deep shit to expend their elder statesmen as attack dogs. That’s usually the Vice-Presidential nominee’s job.
Such a classless act on Carter’s part. It is so beneath him.
I don’t think it is beneath him. I think that he’s a putz.
One would believe that Carter would be more considerate of his fellow Naval Officer.
It is quite easy to paint Democrats as
out of touch when they do everything in their
power to add fuel to that fire.
he’s uppity cause the Navy named a tug boat after him. those submariners are a little strange.
AX10 — The Democrats do have a reputation for dissing our Military. Bad move Carter.
Is this like the democrats going after a war hero like the repubs went after a war hero last time? But I’ll bet mccain responds quickly.
Whoever said “tacky” you are so right. It’s beyond tacky and a bad strategy.
There’s plenty of policy stuff to go after the repubs about.
Correct.
Wow Susan. You aren’t even pretending anymore.
No wonder your Daughter is so ashamed of your efforts she took her family name off her company’s about page listing.
Your own family susan. When will you realize what you have become?
ee,
In terms of integrity, to come close to Susan you would have to reach up from the bottom of the settling pond to touch a coffee ground from the sewage that formed in the sewer, after flowing through the drainage piping from the kitchen sink into which she poured her unfinished coffee. In other words, you are lower than scum because scum forms on the top of the settling pond.
You deserve to spend a week in the stocks in the town center.
SM
Oh blow me you Canadian interloper. Isn’t Harper about to call a snap election before his bankrupt conservative ideology/policies are blamed for the 14 tainted meat deaths?
Susan + Makah + racism
Google that then come back here with your morality lesson you dipshit.
I’m a lefist and an Orwell-informed citizen, eenvisible to the naked eye. I imagine that I dislike Harper at least as much as you dislike McCain. My American family members are progressives. They are pleased by my work to protect common citizens from assaults by obots representing Obama and his fraudulent candidacy.
I try to avoid google because of their work to help the Chinese government catch pro-democracy dissidents.
To your credit, “Oh blow me you Canadian interloper” has a nice ring. Oops. Did that sound too much like McCain congratulating Obama?
obamanazipunks make me want to puke.
Freedom Fighter With a war on two fronts and a conflict in the Russian Provinces this is no time to ridicule a man who was a POW. This is not going to sit well with the American people. Many of whose sons are fighting for this country. The Democratic Party wants to lose — I will do my part to make that happen.
Jimmy Carter has a Nobel Peace Prize, I think if there was anyone who has the authority to call McCain a fraud and a phoney, it is someone with a Nobel Peace Prize.
The Peace Prize does not confer the ability to see into a person’s heart any more than a speech given in 2002 makes one qualified to be President.
Your fallacious post consists of the appeal to false authority, goober, and is illogical.
Try again.
Refresh my memory: Was Carter awarded that Nobel Prize for ordering a military raid into Iran to rescue American diplomats who had been taken prisoner?
no, it was Carter trying to bring peace to the middle east for the good of his country and the world….I guess his priorities are different from yours..
Carter failed to do anything as President.
He screwed up Hostage exchange, and Brezinsky’s horrible behavior and KGB mentality contributed to the rest of a failed administration.
He’s worked hard for years to give himself credibility and his position on Israel and Palestine is off the charts. Get real.
And how’d that work out for Peanut Jiminy? Yep the middle east is a peaceful, war free utopia. Great job Jimbo!!! Should we expect a similar results-free performance from Obama?
LOL
Carter ne:”lost his flippin mind guy” was President from 1977 to 1981. Begin and Sadat shared the nobel peace prize in 1978. Jim-Jim was left out. Mr. Carter was awared the nobel peace prize in a half-assed backwards gesture in 2002.
This is called “campaigning for an award.”
And might I add, “boy he sure did a great job at bringing peace to the middle east. And boy he sure is respected in Israel right now.”
I suspect you did not live through the “Carter years.” I unfortunately did. Jimmy Carter is a good man, a bright man and God knows, he’s well-intentioned.
But as a leader? He was a disaster.
Those four Carter years go down as the worst in Dem leadership. He lost to Ronald Reagan. He would have lost to Happy the Clown.
I was a very young mother with two small babies. My husband and I were barely making it. Jimmy Carter made are lives much worse. But I was a loyal Dem and made phone calls and walked the streets and voted like loyal Dems do.
In retrospect, I was an absolute fool. Fool me once. I won’t be fooled again with a bunch of razzle dazzle.
And I don’t take kindly to con men.
How can you say Carter is a good man and a well intentioned man, then later call him a con man?
Your white battle flag with yellow stripe is showing again. You need to respond to my earlier comment, chuckles.
Con Man = Obama
I think she’s referring to Obama.
I’m not calling Jimmy Carter a con man. I’m calling Obama and his lackeys con men. They are not what they appear.
Obama’s Chicago years are damning. At the very least, Obama is a crass opportunist. But his inner circle? They’re downright sleazy and criminal.
Do some research. It’s appalling.
Why can you not think beyond extremes?
Nothing like being the poster child for Erikson’s psychosocial development theory.
Level 5. Identity v Role Confusion Puberty and Genitality adolescent / peers, groups, influences / resolving identity and direction, becoming a grown-up Fidelity and Devotion Fanaticism / Repudiation
freedom Fighter — Carter wasn’t a con man –he was just a misery who couldn’t get along with anyone. He was a lousy president.
at least the solar panels came off the white house…that was silly thinking of Carter.
I guess “Slick Willie” was a down right honest guy too, huh?
Yeah and WJC just promised the world on behalf of your false Messiah (Bill is way too smart for you goobers and got you even though you have yet to realize it). Good luck with getting even a handful of those commitments enacted.
Hahahahaha.
No quite as honest as Obama when he promised to filibuster the FISA vote and accept public financing. Above his pay grade?
“We measure progress in the 23 million new jobs that were created when Bill Clinton was President – when the average American family saw its income go up $7,500 instead of down $2,000 like it has under George Bush.”
excerpt from the speech tonight by o’gladiator.
karen for Clinton — its finally happened Obama is pretending to be Clinton.
Carter’s comment was inappropriate. I too lived through the Carter years; if the country had listened to him instead of Reagan and Ted Kennedy, we would not be in this energy mess today.
From day 1 in Washington, Carter was undermined by Kennedy and all the other preObama Obots– the same people now trying to crown Barky Caeasarius. He was a peanut farmer and Georgia governor therefore he must be an idiot (ignoring his degree in nuclear engineering if I recall correctly). Your prejudices are showing if that’s your line of reasoning.
So, it’s okay for Barry to “milk” his blackness to the AA community by conjuring up images of Selma and stating a lie that his parents were part of it, but it’s not okay for McCain to use his time as a POW to relay his love for this country?
Barry and his followers are full of sh*t!
Good point.
Who’s worse? The liar or the idiot that believes him ?
Yasser Arafat got a Noble Peace Prize too. Now THIS was a classy guy!
Jimmy Carter was a surrender Monkey, he didn’t support the Shah and let his Gov’t in Iran fall. Then he let those nice Radical Shites take over and Kidnap all the Americans. The Kidnapper/ Terrorists held the American Hostages for 444 Days while Carter/ Brzezinski did nothing, the American public couldn’t get rid of Jimmy fast enough, Jimmy Carter was THE CAUSE of the Reagan revolution.
There it is. Good post FF!
Kelvin, why is there so much child pornography on your computer?
Are tou sure you’re not looking at Ferdberfle PC?
Is that the best you can do, Celsius? You’re projecting again.
“Man, I would KILL for a Peace Prize!: – Steven Wright.
dumbo, that doesn’t him authority to then turn around and act like a low class punk!your logic isn’t logic.
Johninca 16:54, so true.
Also true what Carter said, but that doesn’t mean he should have said it.
You can’t criticize Obama or you’re a racist; you can’t criticize McCain because he was a prisoner of war.
I sent McCain an email begging him not to pick Romney for V.P. because of his putting Seamus the dog on the roof for a twelve-hour drive. At least McCain is kind to animals.
I noticed it took Biden less than 5 minutes (all I could stomach of his speech) to mention the accident that killed his wife and baby daughter in 1966. Is Carter going to say Biden is milking this?
Well no, but to be ‘fair’ Biden never ran ads about his wife’s accidental death, it’s simply a part of Biden’s life story.
McCain obviously Is using his time as a POW to elicit sympathy, engender patriotism and to remind people of his service to country. It’s the Exact same reason why John Kerry ran so hard on his Vietnam experience in 2004 so if one is to make an analogy between McCain’s Vietnam ads and Anyone, it would be John Kerry’s ads of 2004.
Carter suffers from the same problem as Biden – he doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. It could be damaging to Obama but on the other hand, Everyone knows Carter is a ‘peacenik’ and is against All military action so I don’t know how much his lack of political acumen in making such a statement hurts the Party in general or Obama in particular.
I think the whole Celebrity ‘thing’ is Much more damaging to Obama than anything a Nobel PEACE Prize winner has to say.
Carter speaks like a true communist. Tow the party at all cost. Sacrifice self for the good of the party. Is that what he wants Hillary to do? And Lieberman has every right to fight for his political survival, Independent sounds like a great third party to me.
No dissent with the donkeys. Eat, sleep, and regurgitate the dogma or you become a pariah.
you ever hear what he said regarding Israel? That may require reading on your part.
enlighten me, which book was it that you read.
Hubris to Nemesis: Obama and his Temple
Why and how did McCain catch up? Let us count the ways: the disastrous European victory lap of Obama’s; the uninspired professorial pontificating to Rick Warren; the deer-in-the-headlights serial responses to the Georgia crisis; and the McCain ads that were as cleverly effective as they were derided as childish by outraged liberals.

Forgive him. he is working very hard with the Syrians and Hamas and Hezbollah to temporarily un endorse Obama! It may not be possible though and he is under considerable stress as his future cabinet position in an Obommunist administration depends on it!
What you are overlooking here is the fact that in many ways Carter and Obama are kindred spirits. Despite the fact that Obama didn’t serve in the armed forces and he has this false put on charisma, they have a lot in common. They are both losers, both are extremely jealous of the Clintons and both are ready to suck up to Hamas.
I can’t believe that I was so dumb and naive back then to vote for Carter. I even campaigned for him and shortly after he was in the White House I saw how stupid he was and I regretted every bit of it.
Obama is another Carter = all mouth and no brain.
Why anyone wou even listen to anything Carter has to say is beyond me.
John McCain is a hero of the first degree who suffered mightely for his country and unfortunately that arouses guilt and jealousy in some lesser people.
I agree and will vote for McCain. That being said, I hope he will remove the yoke that has been put on him by the neoconpoops still running the GOP.
Ferd — McCain is a maverick who will work across the Isle. I trust him.
at least McCain keeps the stories REAL. he’s not talking UFO’s or giant bunnys.
correction. enraged bitter killer swamp bunnys.
I admire and respect Jimmy Carter, but he went way over the top in his comment. I have a family member who happens to be a Naval officer. There is no question in my mind Carter breached a serious code of honor in speaking out in such a direspectful manner against a former POW.
I wonder how comfortable Carter would feel at the Obamas’ “God Damn America” Church of Black Liberation Theology. I would imagine Carter in his own Plains, Georgia Baptist Sunday school class teaches more tolerance than Reverend Wright taught at Trinity United Church of Christ or, for that matter, than the Obamas’ witnessed throughout their 20 year membership there.
I think it is time all these democrats get a lesson in what it is like to be a proud American
Boooo- On Carter
Jimmy Carter is only repeating what other Obama surrogates have done–diminish a war record, pretend that somehow arrogance and no record at all equals a man’s service to his country and years serving as a U.S. Senator. In McCain’s case that military service includes captivity and torture by the VietCong.
It just pisses them off. Instead of honoring McCain’s service they’re trying to denigrate it in a backdoor way. The idea that McCain should apologize for his own military history or pretend it never happened is downright amazing. The Obama team has nothing to offer that remotely equals McCain’s past. And it continues to piss them off. Like petulant children, they whine and point fingers and call foul.
If this is the track the Obama folks think will work?
Think again!
Problem for the bambi team taking this tac is that THE ENTIRE COUNTRY has known for many years about McCain’s war record and his time as a POW, and all the rest…
It’s not like it was with John Kerry’s record, which NOBODY really knew about – details, anyway. So the Swiftboaters could go to town on him, so to speak.
Bambi trying to pull the same thing on McCain is just really really silly – it makes them look like the jealous liars they are.
So, I say keep it up BO – digging your credibility hole deeper every single day.
Agreed, Frirefly! It’s a truly dumb strategy. And, it will backfire.
They used the exact same tactics against Hillary. She had extensively traveled and her work on the Armed Services Committee both gave her deep knowledge and understanding of foreign policy. That’s why she was endorsed by over 35 flag officers. Obama couldn’t even begin to compete with that, so what do you do? Discredit the other person by lying about their service and diminishing it (”tea parties”). Nothing can hide the fact that he is a deceitful neophyte.
When camp Obama listens to the entire interview they’ll toss his ass under the bus for referring to Bambi as “black boy”. Makes you wonder if them colored folk that work on his peanut plantation get whupped if they don’t call him Massa.
Obama’s a product of Saul Alinsky, and his “Change” message. One of the tactics that the Communists used to woo people to their cause was if they couldn’t refute someone legitimately they were instructed to belittle them, make fun of them and use ridicule to make people laugh at the opponent. This is what Obama was taught as a Community Organizer and it certainly explains the dirty strategy that has been used throughout this campaign…oh, and also lying is totally condoned and even encouraged, anything is okay as long as the goal is met.
Of course McCain is making the most of his being a POW. Every tough question he is asked is deflected away by saying that, as if it were a magic talisman.
Don’t get me wrong. He should be highly commended for his bravery and perseverance in Vietnam 40 years ago. His service to his country was extraordinary. But it’s not a license to shut down debate on questions he doesn’t want to answer in this election season.
And contrary to what some people seem to think, being a POW doesn’t make you any more qualified to be POTUS than someone who wasn’t one.
Agreed. Now if you could get your candidate to also come clean, we’d have a real contest. I doubt that will happen, though, so McCain can do whatever he wants. It’s called sauce for the goose, buster.
The images of McCain’s captivity and return to the States, receiving the medal while on crutches, are compelling.
Formed on the Anvil of his Captivity
What does Obama have that conveys the same sense of duty and sacrifice for his nation and fellow citizens?
stinky’s married to Godzilla, that’s what.
Did you watch the Saddleback debate? Obvously not, because if you had, you’d know that it was McCain that was answering the questions directly while it was Obama who was vascillating and equivocating, as always.
Everytime I see “saddleback”, I think “brokeback.”
Why can’t Barry just come out and say he likes boys and girls. Oh that’s right… he’s a pathological liar.
How about 20 years on the Armed Services Committee and extensive travel around the world meeting with heads of state? And Obama? He lived in Indonesia between 6-10 and took a two week Europalooza trip this summer. I would feel so safe with Barry as CIC.
No, but it DOES give one some insight as to what consequences will likely arise from sending other sons of bitches into Harm’s Way in pursuit of Presidential policy.
I’ve been off the line nearly 40 years, but I can remember thinking that LBJ and Tricky Dick never heard The Angry Bees pass close aboard, and that their dedication to a pro-Westerm South Vietnam might be colored differently if they spent 30 days or so slogging through paddies, knee deep in shit, trying to kill people who were Motivated and, coincidentally, also LIVED there.
skidron — I guess it doesn’t compare with being a Community Organizer who couldn’t advise people in his district to go to shelters when it was 105 in Chicago in the Summer of 1995. 700 poor–sick–old people died in their homes because they were afraid to step outside — for fear of getting attacked. Thats some resume to brag about.
correction: disrespectful
Question:
If BO got funding from rich guys to go to Harvard Law, how come it took him so long to pay off his student loans?
Or, is MO the only one who had student loans, and the ‘we only paid off our student loans a few years ago’ line is intended to make it seem like BO had some too?
Kal,
Does anyone have proof he did have student loans? Did her register at 18 for the military which you must do to get student loans?
The fact that the Obama’s just payed off their loans and had to make a shady deal with Rezco to buy their home a few years ago, tells me they are poor money managers.
Did they ever have any investments, like mutual funds? How can someone that couldn’t grow his own money grow our economy? Look how he is spending campaign money, like water. Would he spend our tax dollars like that as well? I don’t want to let this guy anywhere near the U.S. Treasury!
And this from a man who was once Commander In Chief. Shameless is the only word I can think of, just pathetic and shameless.
Skiron:
I would add that delivering a good speech and being black doesn’t qualify you for the POTUS either.
But I’m sure you’d think I was splitting hairs.
OH I WOULD LOVE TO DO A COMMERCIAL FOR MCCAIN..
A milk commercial…of Obama and Milk on his lip..and say..
What does this man have to milk???????
143 days in the senate…( or how ever many days)
And Ayers and Rezko.
Then pan to :
John McCain 26 years in the US Military and 22 years in congress..the man who does have something to Milk…legitimately.
…then have a cow next to McCain in the heartland of the USA!!..and then have a whole bunch of farmers behind McCain.
And yet its ok for Obama and his peon-bots to milk their racist & sexist crying for all its worth?
Its a good thing.
They will have so desensitized the country with their threats of racism that future incompetant candidates will have to present a case based on the content of their character, and not the color of their skin.
What will Michelle Obama do when that occurs? Will she rejoin Reverend Wright’s “God Damn AmeriKKKa” church?
And yet its ok for Obama and his peon-bots to milk their racist crying for all its worth?
I think the small bump Obama is showing is the Clinton bump. I predict it will all but disapear because Obama is incapable of getting more voters. He always does worse when he has to EARN votes and we all know he has a weakness in this area. I still laugh when I think that the DNC elites chose someone who does worse the more voters there are. You have to be batshit crazy like Carter to follow that logic. (BTW, I’m not sure what happened to Carter. He was not always like this from what I’ve seen of him in the past).
Actually, the Rasmussen tracking poll, which tracks likely voters rather than registered ones like the Gallup tracking poll, showed no “bounce” at all.
But regardless, if the GOP can get past the Democratic convention with only a 5-6 point Obama “bounce”, they’ll gladly take it. They can easily get erase that with a “bounce” of their own next week.
Wasn’t it Gallup that showed McCain up by 2 a couple days ago? My bet is on them doing it on purpose, just so they could show an “obama CONvention bounce.”
I agree. They do this all the time. They’ve done it during the primaries. They would lower Obama’s numbers BEFORE an election and then would skew it Obama’s way afterwards to try and show an unrealistic bounce for Obama. This time it’s not an election, but it’s even more critical that Obama shows some kind of numbers going his way. That Rasmussen isn’t showing anywhere near the same kind of numbers just shows how Gallup is reverting to their old tactics.
It’s possible that all the low-hanging Dipshit Vote may already have already been harvested.
First Wesley Clark and now Jimmy Carter trying to diminish John McCain’s record, to curry favor with Obummer, who has no record of service in the armed forces.
Who is advising these people? Is this all they can come up with? Weren’t the Obots on this very website constantly screaming we should stick to the issues? I have so lost respect for these two individuals.
Would somebody please tell Jimmy Carter to just shut the fuck up already? You haven’t been president for damn near 30 years now, Jimmy!!! Those of us who are old enough to remember your presidency have been trying for that long to forget it. It was the post-Cold War nadir of U.S. power and influence around the globe. Thank God Ronald Reagan came along to snap the country out of the “malaise” into which it had drifted.
As for McCain, why shouldn’t he milk his POW experiences for all they’re worth? There’s no truer measure of the man’s toughness, integrity, and honor than to be able to endure what he did and not only not be permanently scarred by it, but emerge from it a stronger man. The kind of man who would have the balls to tell the North Vietnamese to go fuck themselves when they offered him early release so they could use it for propaganda purposes against the US … knowing full well that they would beat the living shit out of him for refusing … is the kind of man I want in the White House.
I’ll bet you’d have been out that prison door and on a plane back to the U.S. in a heartbeat, Jimmy. So do us all a favor and just shut your trap, OK?
completely agree. NO CLASS! |:/
John McCain’s website already has a picture of McCain and Romney together that announces Romney has been selected for his VP. The image was found at johnmccain.com/images/vp/romney1.jpg but has since been taken down. You can view it here:
http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/4746/romney1ccm8.jpg
Ummm … That ain’t John McCain’s website.
But I hope Romney is the pick.
Umm. McCain picks Romney and he loses. Go Pawlenty!!! Don’t pick that ass-wipe who continually demanded apologies during the entire primary. God, Romney is a disgusting wimp!
I think people who are inside politics forget that the rest of the country has not been paying a lot of attention. Outside of AZ I believe there are many voters who will find, upon hearing them in full for the first time, McCain’s POW story compelling. If I were advising him I would have him tell even more of those stories. They are moving.
I fully agree. The first time eight years ago that I heard the details of McCain’s life story I wanted to stand up and salute. I was crushed when he was slimed by Bush’s minions in the South Carolina primary in 2000. So, I’m elated that he’s getting a second chance in 2008. He’s exactly what this country needs right now: A real leader who puts country above party or ideology.
I read his biography to learn more about him, and it is very powerful. He is also humble about it, admitting when he was weak and afraid, but he endured and it transformed him. And Barry? “He was raised by a single mother” (and a wealthy stepfather and his Bank Vice President grandmother).
I cannot imagine the pain and torture that Mr. McCain went through for 5 fucking years. My God! I would have cried and been broken in 60 days let alone over 1,700 days!
Carter is a national disgrace period.
Why the hell did not that rabid rabbit not bite this assholes head off?
Disgusting!
I seem to have lost the links where Carter cautioned the Democratic party about race-baiting, misogyny, and wild charges of racism.
T me its not so much about all the pain and torture that he went through for 5.5 years that adds to his qualifications for president, it is the fact he had a chance to go hame early, and declined, because he didnt think it was fair to the POWS that had been their longer, that adds to his qualifications for the presidency, because it shows CHARACTER, something that the messiah does not have …
Game. Set. Match.
Well-stated.
You’re spot on.
Absolutely!
Hello Mr. President.
Jimmy Carter – In-arguably the WORST president in modern history. His Economic, social and foriegn policy legacy was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER!
Many of the problems we now face in the middle east and norther africa were a direct result of the TOTAL INCOMPETANCE of the foriegn policy ignorance and shenanigans of the Carter Administration.
YOu want to know who helped the Ayatollah Take over Iran? Ask the Peanut farmer.
What everyone forgot the Gas Lines?
Carter was a disaster of craptacularly epic proportions. He was the Hopey Dopey Change candidate of his day too.
Ofcourse he wants Obama to win! He is trying to reclaim his legacy as NOT the WORST PRESIDENT in modern times.
Their parents were still disco dancing in the Carter years
The Democratic Party has been hijacked by Michelle Obama and people of her ilk. They all hate America, and they denigrate those who serve.
They disgust me.
Right on!
YO, President Carter,
So what is Obama milking every last drop from?
HIs days as a drug addled down low daddy?
His 142 days in congress?
His experience as a charlatan and member of Rezko’s posse?
His marxist addled addiction to the wrong people?
We know his wife Michelle Hussein Obama milked every drop from Rezko and from The University of Chicago Hospitals, who rewarded her with a pay raise after her husband was able to secure earmarks for them at a time when they were refusing to serve the poor and the indigent.
Bambi milks fiction. Fictional poor baby.. fictional christian as youngster…fictional “community organizer” (cause he was organizing for the Daley machine, not no poor folk) fictional non-associations: he don’t hardly know Rezko, he don’t know Ayers, he don’t know Dohrn, he did/didn’t/did/didn’t stay awake in the church of hate; he certainly don’t know Larry Sinclair, doesn’t seem to have ever known the choir master of Church-o-hate either (you know, the murdered guy). He was born by the passions stirred by Selma except the dates don’t quite jive by years.
He saw astronauts walking on Hawaiian beaches.
I am glad the Repubs will be going after him now, because it was getting tiring just trying to keep up with half of the lies he told.
Get him Repubs. Take the lying tool down.
Do they honestly believe calling their opponent names is all it takes have they nothing else?
Carter is America’s #1 POS.
Shut up Carter! Obama is the one that has milked the race card to the last drop. But he is not going to win.! In Hillary’s words
No way!
no how!
NObama!
Let’s call a spade a spade. He is milking his experience as a POW. Whenever he gets in a tight spot, he plays the POW card. Just like you PUMAs accused Obama of playing the race card. The old fart was challenged about his houses, here come the surregates and McOld pulling out the POW card. He uses it as a crutch and a shield. Like all things in politics, people will eventually tune you out. So therein lies the key to victory for Team Obama. Pressure the old coot with attacks and he will eventually wear out that POW card.
http://mccaindemocrats.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/bo-god3.jpg
Ignore the troll.
Don’t respond to it.
Oh Gawd – I hope the idiot bambi team takes your advice, Kelvinbot – I really do – especially since we know they’ve taken most of their advice from idiots like you. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they came knocking on your basement door for “expertise!” Did barky get his advice on FISA from you too? LOL!
McCain LANDSLIDE! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Not so much.
WARNING: YOUR HOST IP AND EMAIL HAVE BEEN COLLECTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES. CHILD PORNOGRAPHY HAS BEEN DETECTED IN THE FOLDER C:\CLEOBOTRA\TEMP\*.TMP

Guess some of Larry’s ole CIA buddies have nothing better to do. I’d rather you guys work on bombing the hell out of UBL and his boys.
I see you’re also very fond of playing the age card. What can you, probably just a kid, possibly understand about being a POW. You punks have no respect for anything, and have been pampered your whole insignificant lives. Grow the hell up and have some respect.
And “accusing Obama of playing the race card?” It’s documented fact–see Jesse Jackson Jr’s 4 page memo leaked to the press re: the Clintons before SC.
And milking things for all their worth: How about Obama based HIS ENTIRE CAMPAIGN on ONE SPEECH he gave in a liberal pandering district of Chicago that no one recorded? If I hear about his mythical “opposition to the war” (which he never did ANOTHER THING ABOUT!), I’ll puke.
When Obama makes a REAL SACRIFICE for his country, they he can smear true patriots.
The difference is the POW stories are true. The racist accusations were BS of the highest order.
Try: eyes wide open. There’s a truly a difference!
you trolls are all the same, you never address Obama’s problems, just try to accuse someone else. You’re a pathetic and sick bunch.
You know what, you do get to milk those kind of experiences, just like say, if you actually were there with MLK, yep some stuff you do get to use. Too bad O has nothing, can’t even make up a life, he’s tried, but we all know the difference between being raised by a single mother and being raised by a single mother who can afford college and has parents who will take over for her and pay for a child to go to school.
So yeah, McCain gets to milk this.
I had always had respect for Jimmy Carter, not as President, but for what he has done in his non-Presidential years.
What I really CAN’T understand, though, is that one of his really big projects has been monitoring elections for fairness! Doesn’t he care at all about his OWN country’s totally unfair, corrupt, out of control election process, where the PEOPLE vote for one person and their DELEGATES elect who they are told to vote for? And the party that HE belongs to makes up the “rulz” as they go along, as long as it benefits their annointed one? Doesn’t he seek justice for his own countrymen and women? Obviously NOT!!
He not only doesn’t care, he actively participated in it. I have lost total respect for Carter. I used to donate to his Foundation, and recently wrote a long letter about his hypocrisy in the primaries, encouraging voter suppression here in his own country. What a disappointment.
You know, I still respect Jimmy Carter for his humanitarian interventions. Maybe, I’m a sucker for someone who is willing to tirelessly pursue the impossible dream. He’s made a much better ex-president than president [though I do not agree with him hugging Hamas or any other terrorist organization--thought that was a huge, disastrous mistake].
But I think Jimmy Carter is an idealist. There was a time when I could categorize myself that way, too.
No more. And I don’t say that with any great glee. But it’s a fact.
Carter has been a disgrace
Carter is still a disgrace. And his cohort,Zbigniew Brezinsky will be Obama’s foreign policy Guru.
Nothing could be worse. Brezinsky’s daughter Mica is another mouthpiece on MSNBC in the AM. She is an Obamaton through and through, and is tolerated inspite of her rampant bias and sarcasm on “Morning Joe”.
Did you see Hillary’s speech wasn’t good enough for President Jimmy, “i’ve travel all over the world to make sure other countries elections are fair, but am fine with AMERICAN election fraud as long as “My” candidate wins” Carter?
Carter called Hillary Rodham Clinton’s speech at the convention Tuesday “superb,” but questioned her for pointing out her accomplishments in some areas and merely saying that Obama shared those concerns.
Carter has been nasty to the Clintons this entire election cycle. I don’t know what his problem is–he must be jealous of Bill’s success.
You nailed it.
carter was very judgemental of clinton during the lewinsky saga. that says major hypocrite to me. shame! i always like the guy.
Take no comfort from Carter. I voted for him and then I wept for having done so.
He was a simply terrible President, and has paracticed being an ex-President for so long that it’s given him some credibility. Unfortunately there are many young voters who haven’t a clue as to his incompetence or the mess he reated as President.
He’s an Obamabot and a huge critic of the Clintons, so disregard his biased remarks about Hillary’s fine speech.
We had two very revealing situations in the last month to gauge these two candidates: The Russian invasion of Georgia and the Saddleback forum.
Barack Obama failed on both. It took him three tries to get the message right on the international crisis and his answers during the forum were lame at best.
There will be more tests as the race continues. And debates. McCain has honed his skills during these months of townhall meetings, something Barack Obama has refused to enter into. To his own peril.
You cannot whine yourself into the White House. You cannot conjure up the Greek Gods or pretend that you are the Chosen One. Because in the end, the American voter is looking for a Messiah, a sexy rock star or a thowback to the ancient emperors.
We need a leader. My God, how we need a strong, decent leader!
And all the flash or smoke and mirrors in the world cannot change Barack Obama into the leader we need or desperately want.
John McCain might seem ordinary in comparison. But he’s got the right stuff. And he’ll get my vote.
right on girl
rude and stupid.
course, makes Obama look like a Centrist by comparison….
You PUMAs can complain about President Carter all you want. He’s done something that Hillary hasn’t, and have a chance to be president.
Thank you for demonstrating once again that you are a low information voter.
The flapping of your jib about the patently obvious, Celsius, only makes you seem even more like an automaton. Keep digging Chester.
shut up you little fucking idiot. blah, blah, blah, you never even say anything intelligent. this isn’t a babysitting service. go get your shitty diapers changed you asshole
Did you live under Jimmy Carter’s presidency?
He was horrible, disastrous. Inflation, mortagage rates out the gazoo, gas lines [you didn't have to worry about high gas prices because there was no gas, a product of windfall profits tax. Sound familiar?]. And let’s not forget the Iran hostage years or the humiliating rescue that only cost us more American lives.
The beat goes on. Was Jimmy Carter the victim of unforeseeable events. No! He was a bad, unsuitable POTUS. Not a bad man but not a deeply flawed and weak leader of a huge, complicated country and dangerous international affairs.
In this vein, Barack Obama fits perfectly. But the world is evermore dangerous now. This is not a time to hand the POTUS off to a novice, period.
Carter had flaws but if the country had listened to him about the need to get off foreign oil we wouldn’t be in deep shit now. You must also credit Carter for the Egyptian Israeli Peace Accord.
THIS IS JOHN MCCAIN..
“In 1968 he was offered early release, and when he refused, because others had been there longer, his captors went at him again; he suffered cracked ribs, teeth broken off at the gum line, and torture with ropes that lashed his arms behind his back and that were progressively tightened all through the night.” Source Vanity Fair, February 2007
“He spent two years in solitary confinement, suffered from dysentery and even tried to commit suicide by hanging himself with his own shirt.
In 1968, the Vietnamese broke off many of his teeth at the gum and tortured him for hours on end. They offered him early release, knowing his value as an admirals son, but he refused, saying others had been held captive longer.” Source Daily Mail, February 1, 2008
where is obama’s record of service????????????
Oh and Carter..you need to be quite….you got some guys killed who served this country in helicopters,if i remember correctly..playing CIC…
they didn’t get to be POW’s..but you had your share of making some people POW’s ..Several I have met
on different occasions..
..and they seem to have capitalized on being POW’s,
( which i would never begrudge) ..
..they were made POW’s on your watch Jimmy.
It seems Carter is choking on all of his white guilt which is infiltrating his brain and making it toxic, impairing his discernment. I personally see him as someone who has had so much white guilt that he felt he could absolve it by supporting Obama. I guess it makes you feel better about yourself.
If he was so concerned about election fraud internationally, too, why didn’t he look at the caucuses and see that they were for the most part fraudulent.
I truly did admire Carter before, trying to resolve the middle east crisis, way ahead on the need to get off of foreign oil and develop alternative energy sources, but it’s sad he has lost it.
The Democratic Party has become what they hated most about the Republican Party–hypocrites.
i will be proud to vote for Mccain!
Carter is an idiot…
lets take a look at Obama’s accomplishments:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBofMELuSMA
and take a look at what 100 million dollars that Obama got for Rezko and his slum lord friends:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnESx4KDeQI
can you just contain the excitement for what Obama will do for the country?
a. hillary
b. mccain
america first!
100 million dollars!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnESx4KDeQI
the people of chicago thank you Obama!
a. hillary
b. mccain
america first!
well this is another McCain commercial.
And Jimmy Carter….he needs to shut his piehole or stick some peanuts in there or something. I could care less what he thinks.
http://news.newsmax.com/?SKOR.ZwVASuSXhYbuSw.RrQZG3lftJU1S&http://election.newsmax.com/morris_82808.html?s=al&promo_code=68B8-1
Don’t like Dick Morris, but he makes a good point about McCain in this clip.
Our “historic” candidate… EXACTLY!!! Our FIRST Affirmative Action president! There is no other way to explain it!!!
AA and playing on white guilt, a one-two combination
when that’s all you’ve got.
What if I don’t HAVE any white guilt?
Then you obviously want to vote for an unqualified individual with a questionable background.
That speaks to your ethics and morals.
sadly true. Like Michelle was affirmative action at Princeton. I always thought affirmative action was a very good thing. It was not designed to let those who were completely inadequate to the task ahead of them leapfrog over others. I always thought it was that, among equals, those who had been disenfranchised would know have a bit of a leg up. But I always believe it was among EQUALS.
If you want to read a frozen, inadequate mind: try Michelle’s Princetown thesis. It is at the level of a very ungifted high school sophmore. And Obama has no qualifications for the job of nominee (much less President). The system was gamed for the sake of
treating AA’s like they were not the equal of everyone else. Obama’s candidacy has been racist from the get-go. Well, now Obama you get to go-go right back to Chicago. No Obama. Not Ever.
“now”
I have always endorsed affirmative action. The purpose was to support equality for all.
However, it does appear some individuals have advanced using affirmative action and now want to CHANGE America so some groups are superior to others.
It’s now time to repeal the affirmative action law. No one groups should be superior to another in America.
Is that Dick Morris’s latest comment about Mccain could Obliterate,Obama, when it comes to experience?
Its about how McC can use all the talking points from the dnc speeches and how obamafart is more like bush than McC…
Anything to disparage, and it is because the association of McCain having served in the military, thus having an actual military experience, you know lived it survived it, vs. rhetoric.
PS Military smears, really piss off the active military family crowd, as well as a lot of veterans. It wasn’t an issue to be made fun of before a campaign, so it isn’t cute or ok to do it now. IT shows a complete lack of respect and understanding. McCain gets to talk about his experience, it isn’t his problem that the O doesn’t have any.
The leftist don’t like people in the military. However, Obama want to start a civilian national security.
These individuals are acting like a bunch of racists.
They are only seeing the COLOR of Obama’s skin and NOT measuring his character.
They are blinded by color like ALL racists.
Without his hue..he would not be eligible to be a dog catcher..IF these KoolAide people had ONE IOTA of reasoning and judgement.
The more these Anti-American’s discount McCain’s service to this country the more he looks like a true Patriot and hero.
How dare these Marxist assholes go after the number of houses John McCain owns
How stupid!!!
McCain said it best and I hope he continues to say it..
“I didn’t have a kitchen table or chair”
I have a suggestion for you commies..
Pack up and move out..
Defeatocrats!!!
every time one of them opens their mouth, they dig a deeper hole for Obama. So keep digging trolls, keep digging….
McCain opposes Bush’s torture policy because of his experience as a POW. So why would Carter make light of McCain’s opposition to torture? Oh, I remember, because McCain is a Republican and “all Republicans are evil.”
WTF is wrong with Carter? I voted for him, and although he turned out to be a bad President, I still had respect for him. He was a bastion of good will and charity in his retirement.
These days he supports HAMAS, is a critic of Israel, and now this.
What a F***ing Asshole. He is an EMBARRASSMENT.
raising money for local underprivileged schools is no big deal
It truly is, since they failed miserably.
Still no word on why you don’t mind that he LIED to you. Ayers is just a guy in the hood, right?
The others on the board did not start their careers in Ayers’ living room.
They did not sit on the Woods Fund with him.
They did not praise him publicly (as seen in the Ayers ad).
Their wives did not work together.
THEY DID NOT LIE about it.
Do you have dinner with people who have or would like to bomb the capitol, or have or would like to blow up American citizens?
speaking of FDR..he said………
Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.
Franklin D. Roosevelt
What I saw yesterday was not represneatative democracy..nor in my states primary where our votes were stolen.
..two states stolen and other states yesterday
( like Calif) that voted in the roll call..present..tell me how that is counting the votes of the people?????????? and being a represenative Democracy????????
Why should anyone vote in a primary ever again??????? Why should another dime of my tax dollars be used for a state primary?
The assholes who run the dem party need to be removed from office..now!
I have been a Delegate at a convention and this is unlike anything I have seen in my lifetime!
It sure as daylight is not representative democracy!
I want all of these employees of mine fired..and today is not soon enough.
Disgusting!!! By any standard…and apparently the Democrats have none any more…or morals!
How many more are willing to sacrifice their legacys and good sense to cover for this JUNIOR legislator?
They would be wise NOT to go down this path!
I shall personally hold the door for them. We must cut out this rot as soon as we can. The first step is to take back our process.
There is a fundamental difference between having an elected official do what we tell him and an elected official who says he knows what’s best and will tell us what we have to do.
Complacency has allowed the very real threat that we face to be started. Dedication to the true principles of what made this nation great is what will turn this around.
It is quite probable that the “New Direction” everyone was so hopey changey about is in reality, a return to fundamental core beliefs which are centered on the Declaration and the Constitution.
I strongly believe that if we return to the practice of lawmaking epitomized by the founding fathers that we can return our nation’s two main parties back into the “Opposite sides of the same coin” that they had originally formed themselves into. The names changed a few times but there were still two basic viewpoints separated by a common love of country.
The Democratic Party has been, since the sixties, the home of a political faction embracing the foolishness of the far left and being plainly anti-American. Mostly, these numbskulls have been in a small minority but they have forayed occasionally into greater influence and now have shoved a naturally swinging pendulum into a full speed rush to the far left.
The only way to fix it is to remove those who support Obama as soon as they appear on a ballot. Dems don’t have to vote straight Republican to do that. All they have to do is learn how to play the caucus game better than those punk kids.
Fool me once, shame on you…
You stay classy, Jimmy.
I have 2 sons, one in Iraq and and one in Afghanistan. They’ve sent home pictures of their fellow soldiers making fun of McCain by wearing T-shirts that say John McCain – nothing but Noun, Verb , Pow with a very unflattering picture. If my sons did it they’d get their asses kicked even though they’re 22 and 24. I’m not a mccain syncophant and would never vote for him (Hilary’s my girl)but don’t disrespect him. It’s embarrassing to the person doing it, not MccAin. It makes my blood boil when I see it. Thanks again for the blog, my son told me about it from Iraq. He said there are alot of soldiers, really alot that were Hilary fans and won’t vote at all now. He’s only found 4 people that would vote for Obama and I think he’s changed their minds now to. Keep up the good work Larry!
Thank your sons for their service to their country. Its people like them that allow me to voice my free opionions.
bill,
My son is in Iraq, and hasn’t seen those types of things, but his unit is a McCain group, quietly supporting. The soldiers usually stay quiet on this. Hillary was my gal, and I cannot vote for Obama, so I will vote for McCain, I cannot sit it out as I feel that keeps a voice silent, so if it is a protest vote, I guess that’s what it is. Even if you don’t vote for McCain, please vote, for someone, Independent-whomever it matters.
Please pass along to your son my appreciation for his service. Its people like your son that keeps me voicing my opinions.
What else can President Carter say about McCain to persuade people to vote for Obama? The Democratic candidate has no experience, doesn’t seem to know what his view is on anything until he hears McCain’s view, once he chooses a view he changes it several times and half the time ends up having McCain’s view. Then there’s Obama’s background, what he lacks in experience he makes up for in having questionable citizenships, associations with radicals and radical groups and failed programs. McCain on the other hand, even if one disagrees with his politics, has a long career filled with successes. There’s nothing President Carter can say about Obama that would persuade someone to vote for him so he’s left attacking McCain. Since we don’t know what Obama’s views will be tomorrow, he can’t attack McCain on his platform since Obama might adopt it tomorrow so the only thing left to attack McCain with his that he’s milking his time as a POW.
It must suck to be a former Democratic President in this election.
Let me tell you a secret: it sucks being a former Democrat, period. I watched the party I’ve identified with for my entire voting life literally self-destruct last night.
It gave me no pleasure. Only a sad, sad ache.
The melancholy is for the ideals which somehow got turned into platitudes. It is legitimate sadness at the loss of something that was once purpose driven which has “Changed” and been subverted by the lies of Marxism.
Like having a best friend suddenly embrace a nutty religion like those Comet catchers…
We can work on pity once we boot Barry and his minions out on their ears.
Keep the Faith
It is We who shall Overcome…
Hell, they’re too damn young to even remember the words…
I’ve heard “community organizer” thrown around more than I’ve heard “prisoner of war.” Shame on you Jimmy Carter.
Do you guys hate everyone who endorses Obama?
clearly you haven’t spent much time poking around this insane asylum…
yes, they hate anyone who backs obama (except the clintons, who are only pretending in their book).
what’s more amusing is the unacknowledged oceans of self-hate here…if there’s ever been a group of folks in need of therapy, is the deadenders at nq.
but it’s fun to come here every once in a while, poke them with a stick, and watch them swarm and buzz like stingless hornets…
You trolls are better than therapy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4HrSQySus8
Let’s give McCain as many chances to mention POW as Obama and his campaign have mentioned community organizer, OK? By my count, that gives McCain about 9,000 more times to mention it. And which on a resume resounds with courage and love of country and fighting spirit? My God, Obama minions are just so pathetic.
Ans what is Obama mentioning? Oh that’s right: hope and change [without specifics].
Yeah, it’s a real hard choice.
at least mccain has a history to talk about, barry just tries to hide his
Sad Jimmy. Just sad.
I stopped donating to his Habitat for Humanity after seeing him on Larry King a couple of years ago denigrating Bill Clinton. His dislike of him was over something extremely petty, and he never got over it. I think it had to do with not being asked to take a stronger role in the Israeli/Paestinian peace talks under the Clinton administration.
But it says something when a former CIC and vet is so treacherous. I could never understand how the swiftboaters could do what they did to Kerry, and I don’t get Carter.
You’d never find McCain saying such things.
CARTER IS RIGHT.
John Mccain excuse for things: A Noun a verb and POW
Let me get this right. Former President Carter, who has always worn his Christianity on his sleeve, and goes on about his Mama who was also a ‘Good Christian Woman’ stoops to saying anything about a man who survived torture and torment, like Christ, who was then put to death and people like Jimmy and Miss Lillian have been talking about that fellow for two thousand years. Am I missing something here? Why the hell not talk about being tortured? A man who has been tortured himself, might we assume, would think twice before allowing it to happen to others? And I think we need more who feel like that. Torture not being all it’s cracked up to be by those doing it. But, if I remember my news coverage right, Obama is willing to let a live fetus writhe in misery until it dies in pain, not being of a mind to vote against a law altering the circumstances to prevent the suffering, or something like that, him being always opposed to the very human aspect of humanity, like something from another solar system sent here to imitate and dominate? The Nobel Prize must have come down some in value in the past few days. As a matter of fact, I suspect Obama is in for one when he strikes the right pose. And then it will be worth less, or is that worthless?
It astonishes me that Carter was able to hide his anti-semitism when he negotiated Sadat/Begin. By the time he was cuddling up with Yasser Arafat years later, he was always getting Israel to give up something for some Arafat bullshit promise. Hamas and the PLO may be opposite ends of the same turd to Israel but to Jimmy, it looks more like two goobers in the same shell… he likes ‘em!

you would think that Carter would be more concerned about babies left to die in closets in hospitals?
