Obama/Ayers Update: Obama Campaign Unleashes “Turbas” on WGN Radio Host

The other night was a surreal experience.

Chicago is home to a retired conservative University of Chicago professor named Milt Rosenberg who hosts an evening talk show on WGN radio.  WGN stands for “World’s Greatest Newspaper” because it is owned by the Tribune Company which also owns the Chicago Cubs. Jack Brickhouse, the voice of the Cubs for years when I was growing up, broadcast on WGN. And these days many people follow the Cubs on WGN cable television all over the country.

In other words, the folks at WGN are Chicago icons.

Yet the Milt Rosenberg show was the subject of a wave of hostile attacks from followers of the Obama campaign because Milt had the nerve to put on his show Dr. Stanley Kurtz, a journalist and conservative intellectual who writes for National Review Online.

Dr. Kurtz has been writing a series of articles on Obama and, in particular on Obama’s political activities while in Chicago.

Most recently, Dr. Kurtz has turned his attention to a subject that Global Labor has been exploring – albeit from a left perspective – the relationship between Barack Obama and Bill Ayers particularly on the $160 million six year long Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) from 1995 to 2001.

In fact, Kurtz was in Chicago this week to examine the records of the CAC held at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).  UIC had invited him to look at the records and then, very oddly, revoked their invitation after a discussion with the donor of the records. Then they reversed course again and invited him back, along with a host of mainstream media representatives who were now paying attention to this issue for the first time.

Caller after caller to WGN read off talking points provided them by the Obama campaign alleging that Dr. Kurtz, and by implication and sometimes directly, Milt Rosenberg, was “smearing” Barack Obama and finding Obama “guilty by association.”  They also accused Kurtz of lying.

Yet, when pressed for specifics, these callers had none.

This gang of callers and emailers reminded me of the “turbas” – the street thugs organized by the Nicaraguan Sandinistas who would be deployed on a moment’s notice to harass independent trade unionists, human rights activists and government critics during the Sandinistas’ rule over Nicaragua in the 1980’s.  Hugo Chavez in Venezuela – a favorite haunt of Bill Ayers and other “Progressives for Obama” – uses similar bodies in Caracas neighborhoods.

Now keep in mind for those of you not familiar with the Rosenberg show: it has run for decades and has always been thought of as a quiet sober discussion space; generally conservative but usually open to a range of views.

My father, a lifelong Chicago liberal and former Democratic party precinct captain, has called in and jousted with Rosenberg several times over the years (Milt called him a “professor of sophistry” in one exchange).  Yet, listeners are blogging tonight that they have never heard anything like what happened this evening.

Perhaps we should not be surprised by the tactics of the Obama campaign – attempting to squash a legitimate discussion on the respected Rosenberg show of these sensitive issues.

But it suggests to me a whiff of panic inside the campaign. Sure, John Kerry should have gone after the swift boaters in the last election. But this is not swift boating. We are talking about a decade or more of close political activity involving Ayers and Obama.

Far from being a smear, the accusation made that Dr. Kurtz and Global Labor is engaged in “guilt by association” is really a form of McCarthyism. I have experienced this in the past from some on the left and wrote here about it.

(For the record, I was called up by the Milt Rosenberg show and asked to join in the conversation last night.  In doing so, I pointed out that those in the Obama camp like Mike Klonsky and David Axelrod who are red diaper babies ought to be particularly sensitive to the use of McCarthyite tactics by those in the Obama camp.

It turns out I misspoke, as far as I can tell only Klonsky is, in fact, the son of members of the Communist Party. I had seen web references to Axelrod as a son of CP members but I went back last evening to check and I found that those seem unreliable.

Instead it appears that Axelrod is the son of fellow travelers, i.e., folks who worked side by side with CP members and shared many of their views but who did not formally join the party. Axelrod’s mother, it appears, was a writer for PM magazine, a 50’s era magazine heavily influenced by the CP.

Oddly, Rosenberg suggested I was “maligning” Axelrod by suggesting he was a red diaper baby. I don’t know why being a red diaper baby would be considered maligning Axelrod: after all, we do not choose our parents. In any case, I have known many red diaper babies and they are no better and no worse than anyone else on the political scene with a wide array of viewpoints.

So I apologize for misspeaking but not for making the suggestion that someone was a red diaper baby, since that is not anything to apologize for.  And I stand by my original statement that someone with a 50s era background in or around the CP should be particularly sensitive to the use of McCarthyite tactics like those being used by Obama supporters against critics of the Obama/Ayers relationship.)

So why this ginned up outrage from the Obama camp?

Becuase Dr. Kurtz has found out as we have been discussing here for some time, that, indeed, Bill Ayers co-founded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and then co-chaired its Collaborative arm while Barack Obama was selected to chair the board of directors of the Challenge.

Together Ayers and Obama worked to hand out more than $160 million in and around the Chicago school system to groups that allegedly were going to work to improve student achievement.  The effort failed, miserably, at least on the level of achievement.

But Ayers and others claim it was a success – no doubt because it helped them in their battle with the Mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley Jr. who was trying to wrest control of the Annenberg Challenge grant away from Ayers and Obama. Daley was also trying to crush the Local School Councils set up in 1988 after a campaign that Ayers and Obama both participated in.  Those Councils were aimed to be a watchdog over the Teachers Union and the School Board. They were failing too and Ayers and Obama viewed the CAC money as a conduit to prop them up.

So it is a hard fact that Ayers and Obama knew each other well before the time the Obama campaign has stated in the past.  And clearly Obama well knew that Ayers was not just a guy from the neighborhood as he stated on national TV.

That must be a difficult problem for the Obama camp to swallow – they pushed their candidate to deny, deny, distance, distance, when, in fact, they long knew of the close political relationship between Ayers and Obama. For all we know, the relationship continues.  Ayers backs a key policy proposal of Obama education advisor, Linda Darling-Hammond: to wit, the repayment of the alleged “education debt” to people of color.

I warned of this very dilemma for the campaign many months ago.  I pointed out that the hope for change that the Obama campaign had raised among many in the anti-war and labor movement, for example, would be crushed if Obama could not explain why he was involved with someone like Bill Ayers

Ayers was one of the most destructive forces on the left for many years – in fact, he should not be called a leftist.  He is an authoritarian who is more comfortable with figures like Hugo Chavez than he is with genuine democratic activists like those in the labor movement.

For whatever reason, Obama chose Ayers as an ally at a critical point in his career.  The post at the CAC was big step up for the young lawyer.  Obama, though, could have made other choices. He could have said no to Ayers.  But they worked together on school reform for years, then on juvenile justice issues and then on the board of the Woods Fund.

As some on the left – often inappropriately – like to say: those chickens are coming home to roost.

Last Friday night I was listening to “Coast to Coast” with Ian Punnit and he had the attorney Berg on explaining his lawsuit against Obama. All the callers sounded like those that called WGN last night.

Ian Punnit used to have an afternoon show at WGN until the station changed its line-up in the mid-1990s.

As a historical note, WGN is one of the original “clear channel” stations, that is it is the only one in the country with the frequency of 720AM. It celebrated it’s 75th anniversary a few years ago and it also broadcast the Scopes trial way back when.

Incidentally, the station was founded by Robert McCormick, a staunch conservative who hated FDR. With the exception of Kathy and Judy, and John Williams most of the on air personalities are republican leaning. Spike O’Dell who is on in the mornings is very fair in covering political issues.

Yes. I listened to the MP3 broadcast via link provided in Larry’s blog here and I couldn’t believe the monochromatic, uniform response from the Obamabots. Yet a couple of the women I could tell were genuine Obama Followers yet their argumentative skills were not great. Most of the other callers I found absolutely clueless an not willing to argue as they didn’t have the FACTS!

When is the MAINSTREAM media picking up this story that America shoudl learn ASAP!

Come November Obama’s chickens will come home to roost! And the cracks will shatter the exDemocratic Party’s ceiling exposing some Light at last for the Obamyopics!

Sweetie, you gotta get over it!….Karma’s a bitch

The important thing to remember is Obama lied.

I repeat your words, Steve. He said, during a debate, that Ayers was just a guy who lived in his neighborhood. That is like saying I might have heard of a guy that was my brother who lived with me for 20 years.

I do not understand why that debate statement is not LIAR LIAR news anymore than “I did a few hours of work for one of his non-profits” is not CROOK CHEAT LIAR.

Did Obama also not say: “Our kids play to gether.”? Ayers’ kids are around 30. If they started hanging out and playing with my little girls I would not find that quaint.

Mr. Diamond. Keep writing. At least I am listening.

That was the PA debate and it was the first time I had heard of any connection between Ayers and Obama, but I remembered Ayers well from the days of the Weather Underground. It disturbed many in the Anti-war movement. It gave Nixon all he needed to call anyone against the war “thugs” and criminal. Obama’s response to the question was hysterical and he brushed it off with the comment about Ayers being someone from the neighborhood followed quickly by (paraphrasing)this is typical Washington politics, silliness and a distraction. I hope the complete truth about their association is made public along with documentation. I know people can change, but it doesn’t sound like Bill Ayers has or even wants to change his view. He has just moved within the system he is trying to destroy.

There there is also this from Judicial Watch:

Steve Carter, Attorney General
Indiana Government Center

SUBJECT: Solicitation to Violate Indiana Elections Code 3-8-3-11, Delegates to national convention; support of candidate on first ballot

Dear Attorney General Carter:

Here in Indiana, obeying the above-cited law means that pledged delegates selected as the result of votes cast for Senator Clinton in the Presidential primary election must vote for her during first-round balloting at the nominating convention of the Democratic Party. But in what can at best be interpreted as an overzealous advocacy on behalf of Senator Obama, in states throughout the country, including Indiana, proponents for his nomination have bombarded Senator Clinton’s delegates with subtle and not-so-subtle pressures to commit to switching support to him, before the convention. Or, failing that, they replace the Clinton-pledged delegate with one loyal to Obama. (See examples below. Note that while the first link shows the copy of a letter Senator Obama’s campaign sent to pledged delegates in Georgia, they distributed this same letter to delegates in all states. And Georgia, like Indiana, mandates pledged delegates to follow their candidates into the convention.)

Therefore, in Indiana (and Michigan, and Texas, and California, and numerous other states), encouraging delegates entrusted with representing the political preference of Clinton voters to pledge their support before the convention to Obama solicits these delegates to break the law. As a concerned citizen of Indiana, I am bringing this matter to your immediate attention, anticipating you will take appropriate action to ensure from now on, any campaigning in this state related to the upcoming Democratic National Convention is consistent with Indiana laws.

jimbo,

I heard that the lawsuit is very much alive and that it’s getting a lot of media play in Philadelphia.

I am in touch with someone who is working with berg on this matter. I was told that the judge in the case is a Clinton appointee. Hopefully, he will stick to the law and not be bought off.

I bet the republicans are all over this lawsuit.

According to americasright.com, Berg said, “We still feel that we’re right, and the evidence will come out that [Obama] is not eligible to be president. We’ve been fielding so much information and getting so many telephone calls. We’ve had millions of hits on our Web site. We’ve received phone calls and e-mails from lawyers, immigration officials, and we do feel as though things are going to break open.”

Steve Diamond, you ROCK!!! You were on the WGN show for quite awhile last night!!!

I listened to that program last night, it was on WGN, AM 720 in Chicago, and the host of the show, which is called Extension 720, Prof. Milt Rosenberg, did an excellent interview with Kurtz. They both explained several times during the interview that NObama’s national headquarters in Chicago had been called letting them know that Kurtz was going to be on, and asking if anyone from Oblah blah’s team wanted to come on the show as well.

The communications guy at the O! headquarters refused, asked for the producer’s name, and hung up on them. Then the O! Action wire went into borg mode, and jammed up the show’s lines. The calls the host took were shrill O!bots screaming “not fair! He’s a conservative! Where’s our side? Not fair!”

Again, the host explained that the O! camp had declined to come on and said they were welcome any time. Kurtz laid the case out very plainly, reading from the Annenburg papers that NObama knew Ayers very well, and that they attended many board meetings together, and decided which grant requests would be accepted and which ones would be denied (including many requests that WOULD improve public schools).

The show was very informative and enjoyable, too, especially when the O!bots, as always, cannot provide one shred of evidence for “their side,” and can only scream and holler about fairness (as if they were ever fair).

Funny that the calls dropped off after about an hour…guess the O!kiddies were up past their bedtime (show airs at 10 p.m. CST).

It over. Hill shot herself in the head by ending the roll call vote early. It’s tough to try to get the best person nominated when she does not want the post.

All I can say is God Bless America and let’s pray she does not end up in the hands of a phony Jesus.

Comment by MrMike | 2008-08-28 22:54:14

Hillary was never going to be the Democrat party nominee, the cowards of the congress, Harry and Nancy (D-Rhymes with Witch), didn’t want to be upstaged. The Shifty Doctor didn’t want to be out done by a woman either. Kerry, Kennedy, Edwards, and the rest couldn’t abide the thought that a woman might succeed whey they failed miserably.
Hillary has an obligation to represent the citizens of New Your that sent her to congress, had she done other than what she did last night else the Democrats would have ended her effectiveness as a Senator. They are that petty.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-08-29 00:09:27

I’m not thrilled with Hillary because I thought she’d be a country before party before personal safety kind of gal, but I still will support her because I am certain party leaders threatened the loss of her Senate seat if she didn’t drink the koolaid and would have villified her if she’d have done a floor fight to take out that nice “black man”. I think she doesn’t want to be ousted entirely because she can and will do much for us as a Senator. Without powerhouses like her or McCain, where would we be. Think about a congress full of Obamatypes, looking in the mirror, putting on makeup, playing basketball instead of passing legislation. We must have Hillary. She fought as hard as she could and has risked her career to go this far. Let’s continue to support her!

Comment by Kathleen | 2008-08-29 07:18:12

If Hillary had tried to take on the entire corrupt democratic party, she would no longer be a Senator from New York or any state. Don’t you get it? Even Bill gave a rousing speech for obama and he’s not running for office again. Why do you think he did that? Both Hillary and Bill know that she had no chance to get the nomination (the fix was in back in 2004), so the only way they could avoid being blamed for obama’s loss was to give a faux support speech for the asshole.

Hell, she stayed in till the bitter end while they attacked her mercilessly throughout the campaign and received no defense from her colleagues or the DNC and even we, the people, until almost the end of the primaries. What more do you want from this woman? She was closer (despite the cheating by obama) than any male candidate who has run for president, but they wanted her out and didn’t allow her, as every man before her was allowed, to take her fight to the Convention.

This was a coup by a corrupt party. No one person can stop a coup.

Instead, it is our duty to follow the PUMA mantra of “Thank you Hillary, we’ll take it from here.” The fight now belongs to the American people, not Hillary, for being disenfranchised by the DNC and stopping the most qualified candidate from being nominated by the people. We are Hillary’s power base and it is up to us to stop obama and help Hillary rise again in 2012.

That super majority was based on polls taken before Obama became the nominee and before the GOP starts attacking in earnest. Dean, Pelosi, Reid are content to drag the entire party down just to thwart Hillery.

What the Obamabots don’t get is that Ayers is an UNREPENTING terrorist. It doesn’t matter if he committed his crimes 40 years ago or did them today. That’s why Obama’s friendship with him is so damaging. Doesn’t matter if Obama was 8 years old at the time because Ayers is still proud of what he has done and still says they should have done more.

Unfortunately, this will fly right over the Obamabots heads. They live in denial, but the majority of people don’t take too kindly to unrepenting terrorists.

Also, how is Obama to defend the US from terrorists when he’s frieds with a terrorist?

First and foremost, do any of you know what a bunch of whiners you sound like? In the winiest tone possible “My candidate did not win or get nominated so I gonna disrupt the entire process until I do win”.

Second, the elections were fair and a candidate was chosen. Although I do agree that there should have been a role call from the floor rather then just a large group of “aye’s”

Third, you still have your November vote, and you need to figure out which candidate most reflects your views. If there is actual proof as to why B. Obama should not be president (i.e. he has a criminal record and is a felon), then let that come forward. If your issue is who he did business with, then examine the record at the time he did business and what he knew, not in hindsight (as we all know its 20/20).

We all need to work for real political change, because choosing the lesser of 2 evils should not be how we elect a leader. We should be finding a person we can all rally around (Bill Clinton and JFK come to mind).

HRC has too many unanswered questions in her past for me and not enough actual work in the Senate (do a search of the bills she has authored) to get my vote. Being the former first lady does not qualify a person for the top job either (What was here resume before Bill got the job).

Lets start doing something constructive not destructive!!!

Eric

(p.s. I’m sorry if you don’t like my anti-HRC statements, but some times we must move on and get over things and make compromises)

Obama Ran A Negative Campaign Against Hillary

Obama and his advisers conducted a divisive “full assault” on Hillary’s character.

While talking a lot about the politics of hope, change and unity, Obama and his campaign conducted a relentless and singularly personal assault on Hillary’s character. They blanketed big states with false negative mailers and radio ads and described Hillary and her campaign as “disingenuous, ” “divisive,” “untruthful, ” “dishonest,” “polarizing, ” “calculating, ” “saying whatever it takes to win,” “attempting to deceive the American people,” “one of the most secretive in America,” “deliberately misleading,” “literally willing to do anything to win,” and “playing politics with war.”

One of Obama’s top surrogates equated President Clinton with Joe McCarthy; another called Hillary a “monster;” and his campaign manager held an angry conference call (audio) claiming that Hillary is “deeply flawed” and has “character issues.”

That’s neither unifying, hopeful or CHANGE in politics.

Why did Obama as a frontrunner during the primary seek to attack and divide?

Second, the elections were fair and a candidate was chosen.

Oh please! What about the rigged caucuses?

Although I do agree that there should have been a role call from the floor rather then just a large group of “aye’s”

funny thing about that. the democrats change the rules when it a woman candidate.

If your issue is who he did business with, then examine the record at the time he did business and what he knew, not in hindsight (as we all know its 20/20).

Give me a break! Somebody farts in Springfield and the noses wrinkle in Chicago, and vice versa.

We all need to work for real political change, because choosing the lesser of 2 evils should not be how we elect a leader. We should be finding a person we can all rally around (Bill Clinton and JFK come to mind)

So, why are you supporting Obama?

HRC has too many unanswered questions in her past for me and not enough actual work in the Senate (do a search of the bills she has authored) to get my vote

A, political hack spent years and untold millions on the Clintons and came up empty. B , what ever political experience Hillary has Obama has less. But if you count all his “present” votes on controversial or his request to change his vote because he pressed the wrong button. Then there’s this:

I agree that choosing the lesser of two evils is not the best way to elect a president, but that’s the predicament we’re in now. Besides, there are more than two evils to choose from.

To your other inane point, authoring bills is one way to look at a senator’s job. How about votes? Did you know that Senator Clinton missed significantly fewer votes than McCain and Obama during the campaign season? And even her opponent recognized the fact that she campaigned twice as hard as he did. What does that tell you? That’s right; she works her ass off.

I’d rather have a president that works her ass off than of one who rinses his saggy tits in the Pacific while Russia attacks Georgia.

Let it go? Never. It’s my vote and I’ll get as bent out of shape about it as I want.

Comment by btintaos | 2008-08-29 00:36:12

1. Yes, I saw my typo. 2. And another thing about bills: Hillary kept her word on FISA while Bobo did a complete reversal.

You have no idea what you are talking about. It’s curious you don’t talk about policies you agree or disagree with or who you think would best represent your views.

Hillary has spent more time in public service than you have probably lived. Typically, you think the work she did as First Lady of AR and this country aren’t important. She didn’t spend that time redecorating the White House or baking cookies. Maybe you have a problem with her being on the Watergate Legal Counsel which, BTW, was before she was married? She worked

Ted Kennedy gave her credit for the passage of SCHIP and she was an advocate of the Foster Care Independence Act. As a senator from NY, she has authored and sponsored bills to provide for families and victims of the 9/11 rescuers and emergency workers. As First Lady, she was the first advocate for universal health care. She visited more than eighty countries representing the White House. Here is an interesting bit of her history while she was a college student at Wellesley;

” Rodham was invited by moderate New York Republican Representative Charles Goodell to help Governor Nelson Rockefeller’s late-entry campaign for the Republican nomination.[25] Rodham attended the 1968 Republican National Convention in Miami. However, she was upset by how Richard Nixon’s campaign portrayed Rockefeller and by what she perceived as the convention’s “veiled” racist messages, and left the Republican Party for good”

Now, what are the HRC has too many unanswered questions in her past for me?

In the 1990s more than $100mil was spent investigating every aspect of her life. She did nothing wrong. Her tax returns are public record from 1976-2006. There is no one in history who has been as scrutinized as Hillary Clinton and all any one can come up with is she is polarizing or divisive and no one has ever bothered to explain what they mean.

Obama, on the other hand, is a cypher who refuses to answer questions about his past or open up his legislative records in Chicago, his college records or proof in the form of documentation of his name changes or foreign passports.

Following pressure from some fellow students,[29] she became the first student in Wellesley College history to deliver their commencement address.[26] Her speech received a standing ovation lasting seven minutes.[24][30][31] She was featured in an article published in Life magazine,[32] due to the response to a part of her speech that criticized Senator Edward Brooke, who had spoken before her at the commencement.[33] She also appeared on Irv Kupcinet’s nationally syndicated television talk show as well as in Illinois and New England newspapers.[34] That summer, she worked her way across Alaska, washing dishes in Mount McKinley National Park and sliming salmon in a fish processing cannery in Valdez (which fired her and shut down overnight when she complained about unhealthy conditions).[35]</i.

And if that’s not enough for you;

Rodham then entered Yale Law School, where she served on the editorial board of the Yale Review of Law and Social Action.[36] During her second year, she worked at the Yale Child Study Center,[37] learning about new research on early childhood brain development and working as a research assistant on the seminal work, Beyond the Best Interests of the Child (1973).[38][39] She also took on cases of child abuse at Yale-New Haven Hospital,[38] and volunteered at New Haven Legal Services to provide free legal advice for the poor.[37] In the summer of 1970, she was awarded a grant to work at Marian Wright Edelman’s Washington Research Project, where she was assigned to Senator Walter Mondale’s Subcommittee on Migratory Labor. There she researched migrant workers’ problems in housing, sanitation, health and education.[40] Edelman later became a significant mentor.

You don’t know anything about her because you never bothered to find out and would rather repeat Republican lies.

Stop your lecturing. Most of us have been on the planet long enough to know how elections/primaries are stolen. It isn’t about our candidate losing. It’s literally about saving our democracy. In this case, we must vote for the American we believe will be an honest defender against everything your “community organizer” stands for. We know you are full of stars in the eyes adoration but we see reality. We will take it to the GE and vote for McCain.

So go on now and stop distracting our conversation. You have nothing to contribute that hasn’t been hashed over by other bots a thousand times.

Bill Ayers and his girlfriend at the time lived there. and Billy was most likely the procurement officer for the explosives, dynamite, blasting caps etc. he was out at the time of the explosion and he is at the very least guilty of manslaughter of 3 people that were in the basement on that day. one other woman ran out of the collapsing 5 storey townhouse completely naked and a neighbor gave her refuge and clothes so she could escape capture I don’t know who she was. in my opinion Bill Ayers Is a murderer of his own accomplices. some friend eh? It wouldn’t matter if all this stuff happened before Obama was born, Obama decided to be buddies with an AMERICAN TERRORIST, for whatever reason. It could be that he liked Ayers ideas or he just used Ayers to advance himself in Chicago with the help of Bill Ayers and his father, Tom Ayers, who was CEO of Commonwealth Edison and Chairman of Chicago United.

I was on 23rd and 5th at 133 5th avenue New York Peace Action Coalition that day. It was part of NPAC, NYPAC and we were fully non-violent protest in the vein of MLK and Ghandi, two of my heroes.

We heard about it and were furious and ran over there to see the debacle. Ayers destroyed the real peace movement, a humongous group of dedicated volunteers that were doing peaceful and lawful protest. Nixon used the “fanatic terrorist organization” label against us.

Barky and Mo BFF with Ayers and Dohrn:

Ayers and Dohrn were FOUNDING MEMBERS of the Weathermen, a violent terrorist group who escaped prosection because of surveilance tactics, not because they were innocent of wrongdoing. They terrorized government agencies for years threatening to bomb them and succeeded in doing so.

10/7/69 Bombing of Haymarket Police Statue in Chicago, as “kickoff” for “Days of Rage” riots

10/8/69 “Days of Rage” riots in Chicago – 287 Weatherman were arrested and a large amount of property damage done

10/6/69 Bombing of Chicago Police cars. The WUO stated in their book “Prairie Fire” that they did the explosion

12/27/69 Weathermen hold “War Council” finalizing plans to submerge into an underground status from which they plan to commit strategic acts of sabotage against the government. Thereafter they are called the “Weather Underground Organization” WUO. Dohrn raised three fingers in a “fork salute” to CHARLES MANSON, whom she proposed as a revolutionary inspiration. She went on to joke about Manson’s victims. “Dig it,” said Dohrn at the time. “First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!”

1969 Ayers attempted to extort money from the Vietnam Moratorium Committee, demanding $20,000 to abstain from violence during a planned peace protest. After rejecting this demand, a member of the group asked Ayers what he really wanted. “To kill all rich people,” Ayers responded. When another peace activist pointed out that Ayers came from wealth, he answered with an angry slogan: “Bring the war home. Kill your parents.”

Steve — great work. Thanks for writing this up, and helping to provide clarity and the terminology that people need in order to understand what we are experiencing in the campaign and tactics of Barack Obama.

I was just comparing Obama’s thug tactics to those of Chavez today. And now, it is more understandable and believable that the FARC member’s computer found with something or other regarding Obama is legitimate: Obama is an ideological fellow of that kind of revolutionary movement.

Also understandable are the pictures of Che Guevara in various of Obama campaign offices.

Many people of a certain age have never seen anything like Obama’s campaign before: a truly authoritarian-oriented, cult-of-personality centered, iconic-imagery-based propaganda structure.

As such — and because it is headed by a charismatic African-American man in a nation riddled with White Guilt — people don’t realize how much trench warfare is being engaged in under the radar by this supposedly gentle, charming political neophyte.

I made a video, The Obama Cult, 3 months ago:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU7wVUX9Ixo

…comparing Obama and Hitler. I had seen enough of the Team Obama tactics and been targeted personally a sufficient number of times to realize what I was seeing.

I was called a racist, hateful, idiotic, a smear merchant, etc.

Fast forward to today’s Wall Street Journal, or yesterday’s Rush Limbaugh program.

Peggy Noonan and Limbaugh, each, discussed the Invesco Field event as a latter-day Nuremberg Rally, just as I had in my video.

Hitler had his Brown Shirts. Obama has his fellow Alinskyites and ACORN-heads. Both groups employ intimidation aimed at squelching any and all dissent, even when all of the criticism is true, as is the case with Stanley Kurtz’ work.

Due to the ploys of the few weeks or so involving the American Issues Project, Jerome Corsi and now Stanley Kurtz, more people are coming to realize just what Obama and his minions are all about. There are, apparently, a number of errors in Corsi’s book. There is also a tremendous amount of factual information. Obama’s team knows that and, like with Kurtz and the AIP, that is why they are particularly keen on shutting down this truth from seeping out to the electorate and destroying the carefully-crafted image that Team Obama has created for its charge.

The most disturbing part of all of what we are witnessing now with the Obama campaign is the near-total credulity which many in the media give to Team Obama’s statements and character assassination attempts on people like Kurtz.

The ‘journalists’ have fully bought the hype, and allowed the narrative to get ahead of, or replace totally, the facts. They have their historic figure who is wrapped in an attractive package, and so the media is not only willing, but eager, to protect their object of affection from any perceived ’smears’ while simultaneously refusing to engage in the kind of responsible investigative vetting one would expect the media to perform for all candidates.

Obama is a chameleon, a doppleganger. That is his best skill, one which he has in far more abundance than does his wife. Obama is a master actor, presenting people with the version of himself that he ascertains that they want to see.

This is the Obama campaign, then: an inexperienced, handsome front man who reads teleprompters well and knows how to project competence and assuredness when his accomplishments would not support such an attitude.

Behind that facade, however, is the real strength of the candidacy: Determined, persistent Alinskyite elements that can be deployed to blogs, phone banks or radio call-in shows. And a conditioned group of supporters who are only too willing to go to bat to protect Dear Leader from all things, including the truth.

The acid test for me comes in the next week or so. When are we going to see the ads from the opposing parties? Or party, as it is here in our country.

I am really hoping to see some credible swift boating this time. They have so much that’s real to work with, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed to start seeing it now.

Paul — great analysis. I have been wondering about the many parallels between the emergence of the nationalist movement in Germany and what I have seen over the last 6 months here (and have learned about the last 6 years). I suspect the images will be shockingly similar.

I hope you are working on this. This profoundly disrespects the history of the US in both wwI and wwII, if you think about it. If this is what all this ‘freedoms’ comes to, just what was all that for?

It bothers me to see him applauding himself when he enters the stage…exactly like The Dear Leader.

He’s the perfect stealth candidate abetted by a lazy press wanting its job handed to them on a platter. All of this background coupled with his plan for a domestic military (I thought we already had one called The National Guard) is chilling. I can see that this would be one of his very first implementations so he could begin to exert control neighborhood by neighborhood. I’m quite sure that the Brown Shirts had no idea they would go to the lengths Hitler took them to. It’s little by little.

They start their practice run by the massive voter registration drive next week…proudly saying it will not be contracted out. They will have their own organizers do it.

And right on the dot tonight, I got my text message from the stadium before The Dear Leader emerged telling me to tune in.
