BREAKING NEWS: David Axelrod Talking Regularly with Bill Ayers?

I now have two sources confirming that Barack Obama’s Communications Director, David Axelrod has been communicating regularly with unrepentant terrorist and former member of the Weathermen, Bill Ayers, about how to respond to stories trying to report on Obama’s longstanding relationship with Ayers. One of my sources tells me that one person, a TV pundit who wishes to not be named, is talking about this without mentioning Axelrod. This person told my friend:
I predict that the howling and whining we hear from the Obama campaign about Billy Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist who bombed the US. Capitol and has been linked to candidate Obama at least for the last dozen years, will get louder, and more hysterical and more damaging because we will find that not only did Billy Ayers work closely with Barack Obama to fund left wing school schemes in the hands of Maoists (Mike Klonsky) and Neo-Stalinists (Bill Ayers) but also Billy Ayers himself, now, regularly, is talking part in strategy sessions with major Obama advisers as to how to bury the truth about the terrorist and the candidate.”
Another source with direct access to the Obama campaign reports that it is David Axelrod who is fielding these calls. It is astonishing that the Obama team thought they could contain this information. But they will fail. Their fear about Ayers has little to do with his past as a bomber of U.S. Government facilities and more to do with the mismanagement of more than 100 million dollars that was spent by the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC).
Steve Diamond has been a pioneer in helping uncover Barack’s tawdry association with this group:
The CAC was established in 1995 as a result of a $49.2 million grant from Walter Annenberg to support education reform in Chicago. Bill Ayers and Anne C. Hallett co-signed a letter submitting the grant proposal to Brown University President Vartan Gregorian on November 8, 1994 where the national Challenge office would be headquartered.
The letter was on the letterhead of the University of Illinois at Chicago (“UIC”). Ayers identified himself as representing the UIC and the “Chicago Forum for School Change.” Ms. Hallett is identified as the Executive Director of the Cross City Campaign for Urban School Reform. At the bottom of the letter, a parenthetical states: “On behalf of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative.”
Ayers plays a critical role in setting it up and in selecting Barack Obama to take over as the Chairman of the Board of the CAC:
Obama took over the reins of the Board in early 1995 and stepped down from the chairmanship in late 1999, though he remained on the Board until the CAC phased itself out of existence and handed off its remaining assets to a permanent new institution, the Chicago Public Education Fund, in 2001. The Board began to meet in March of 1995 and formally incorporated the CAC as a non-profit entity in April 1995.
Do you ever ask yourself why Barack has not touted his “EXPERIENCE” as the Chairman of the Board of the CAC? You would think that a man who headed a $100 million plus foundation would put that at the top of his resume if he is running for President. Well, he doesn’t why? It appears that his ties to Ayers and how the funds were actually spent are facts the Obama campaign wants to keep buried. But the shovels are out and the facts will emerge. I guess the next question for Barack will be if he thinks it is okay for his Communication’s Director to talk regularly with an unrepentant terrorist? I bet most Americans would say no.

Sarah Palin is superb and as far as the pro-choice issue, it is each and every individual’s responsibility (with the exception of rape ) to take charge of getting pregnant or not. There is the morning after pill and the birth contral implants, pro-choice should not even be an issue. Who would want to have an abortion (except in the case of rape or health of the mother), I would much prefer being responsible and using the birth control methods that are so readily available today.

We’re talking about a woman who has to list PTA on her resume because she’s completely bereft of real accomplishment.
I’m gleeful, because I’ll admit that I was worried that McCain’s experience argument might resonate with some people. But hey, he’s willing to put a woman with eighteen months as the governor of a state with a third of the population of the Kansas City metro area, and before that was a part-time mayor of a city of around twelve percent of the size of the crowd at Mile High Stadium last night.
Moreover, thirty-eight million people watched the speech live, not counting millions more on PBS, C-Span, and the internets. In 2000, people who watched the debates went 60-40 saying the winner was Gore. People who watched the coverage of the debates went 60-40 for Bush. I’m just as happy for the media to not put the speech that everyone saw last night into their prepackaged narrative.
But Palin…this development fills me with glee. McCain finding a total lightweight whose only real qualification seems to be her gender…that’s an insult to women who really are qualified (Christine Todd Whitman or Kay Bailey Hutchinson would have been relatively unassailable, experience-wise). The pick, coming after the speech last night, is like you woke up the day after Independence Day and found out it was Christmas. Fireworks at night, gifts in the morning. Beautiful.

Ayers philosophy is to radicalize and politicize children against the status quo and his plan is to use teachers to do that. When Obama hired Ayers, he endorsed that philosophy. There is no credible suggestion of illegal acts only an ineffective and politically problematic expenditure of money. The non profit was supposed to improve student outcomes but failed according to an in depth study published after the non profit was shut down a few years ago.

In my view it all depends on how serious the Republicans are about winning. If they REALLY want to take Obama down, I believe they likely can do it.
But after the raping of the US by Cheney/Bush, I don’t think the Repugs had any true hope of winning this election and they know it. And because of this, McCain would merely be a Mondale type figure.

This week’s Democratic National Convention was a three-ring circus complete with an assortment of sword swallowers, clowns and magicians.
It was the magicians who took the center ring and proceeded to convert their publicly expressed doubts about Barack Obama into ringing endorsements of his alleged fitness to be this nation’s chief executive and commander in chief.
That’s an amazing feat of legerdemain, especially if the woman in the wizard’s cap is Hillary Rodham Clinton, who up to now has solemnly assured us that Barack Obama is not even remotely equipped to be president.
Targeting his failure to vote on key abortion measures she quipped, “A president can’t vote ‘present.’ A president can’t pick and choose which challenges he or she will face.”
Now, with a wave of her magic wand, Obama’s unfitness to occupy the White House is suddenly transformed. He is now uniquely qualified for a presidency she had warned us he was utterly unfit to occupy.
Too bad. She was right the first time, but that was before she joined the circus in Denver.
Then, with a blare of trumpets, Joe Biden enters the center ring and waves his magic wand. The man he railed against as unqualified to be president is now, he tells us, the very man for the job. The same man, he recently insisted, has no business running for president.
Said Joe before he became a magician (and Barack’s running mate): “I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.”
Obviously, Joe wants us to believe Obama has taken a crash course in presidential fitness and passed with flying colors.

In a stem-winding speech he pulled out all the stops in trying to convince us that Obama is fit to take the office of president and solve all problems great and small. He pledged he’d go all-out to help Obama, but he never quite got around to saying that he’d vote for him in November.
And of course they sent in the clowns. What circus would be complete without them? There was the parade of sad-faced clowns — the losers, featuring John Kerry and Jimmy Carter, and even Mike Dukakis. Al Gore made it the last night even though he was busy waving his magic wand to save the planet.
Among the happy-faced clowns were Nancy Pelosi and her Senate counterpart Harry Reid, taking time out from the sideshow on Capitol Hill where they have presided over that comic skit called the 110th Congress, which came into the Capitol tent waving promises that were never kept.
Watching this spectacle may have been fun, as long as nobody took it seriously. Now they’re taking the show on the road. We’ll see how it plays in Peoria.

The issue some have with creationism is valid, however it is not unusual for schools to educate children to various forms of religious beliefs, so this can be explained as well as evolution.

You really must think Obama is powerful when he can write the rules for the Democratic party long before he was even a Senator. You can make a case that some of the rules were unfair, but no one said anything about them until the realized Hillary was losing. These are ex post principles. They say they are lifelong dems, and that they have never voted republican before, then they call Obama a baby killer, and complain about Soros and Kennedy. They talk about communists and marxists, and yet still claim to love Hillary. I came here because I too loved Hillary, hated BO and thought we might have something in common. Not so. They have none of the same views on policy that are the backbone of Hillary’s candidacy.
The only place I have seen this kind community is Free Republic, and quite honestly, I believe that FR posters are less likely to present opinions as fact, and make claims that are not backed up by any evidence at all. I spoke with my aunt last night, who is in need of a kidney transplant, but has been rejected by her insurance company, as have a vast majority of her medical expenses. This reality check has convinced me that we cannot afford another 4 years of republican health care. I won’t like it, but I will grudgingly vote for BO. As for Obama’s healthcare plan, it will leave between 15-30 million people off, and currently there are roughly 43 million Americans without healthcare. His plan doesn’t go along way to reducing the problems we have.
Even if you have health insurance, like I do or you Aunt, does not mean that they will get treatment. Michelle Obama’s University of Chicago Medical Center is pawning the non-insured off onto other hospitals.
Obama’s healthcare plan is like the Republican school vochure program. Just because you have a healthcare card doesn’t mean you will get care or treatment. In fact your pre-existing health issues may cause the insurance company to drop you.
You seem to miss the point. McCain wants to take away tax breaks for health insurance. His adviser said that everyone has health insurance because they can go to the emergency room. You can nitpick about differences in plans between Obama and Clinton — and I probably like her plan better — but they share the same goal. The Republicans want less government support for people unless most of the money goes to big corporations.

Thanks for the prayers. She can surely use them, as it has been a rough road for her. She will qualify for medicare disability in about 4 months, and she and her doctors are hoping that she will be in good enough shape to survive that long. We all know that it will take nothing short of a miracle, as she has been on dialysis for a while now.
I am not happy with any of the politicians in this country these days, and I completely agree that John Kerry has been a complete jerk. I would include a boatload of other Democratic politicians in the same category. That is why I came to NQ. I am completely disgusted by the entire party.
There are many idiots that did whatever they felt they needed to, in order for BO to win. They crossed the line, and deserve to be punished. But, if John McCain is elected, the real punishment will be felt by people like my aunt, who have done nothing but work hard and live a decent life. That isn’t right either.
The only person that I truly trust on the healthcare issue is Hillary. She knows healthcare better than anyone, and I believe that for her, a solid and fair healthcare plan is a personal mission. She says that Obama is better on healthcare, so that is what I will do. I don’t like it. In fact, I really hate it. I am lucky that I have the luxury to vote based upon political concerns instead of personal need. Last night my aunt reminded me that there are many people that do not have that luxury.
I am so sorry to hear about your aunt and I wish the best for her. I also understand your anger about the primaries. Many of my friends and family supported Hillary and were also angry about how she was treated. I didn’t always see the election they way they did, but I would have been happy to vote for her. I care much more about helping people like your aunt and getting us out of Iraq then I do any candidate. I think Obama can do that, but maybe I was wrong and Hillary was more electable and would have achieved more. I don’ know if your comment was meant for me or not. Since you seem to be so curious, he is the reality. I am 46 and have 5 children, so yes, I was watching Barney when Clinton was elected. I didn’t vote for him the first time, I voted for Perot. (not something I am really proud of) I voted for Clinton the second time, and then Gore and Kerry. I also voted for REagan in the second election, but I wasn’t old enough the first time. It is odd that you call him Barky, which I would consider a very “youthful” thing to do, yet you attack others for being young.

Many Obama supporters are jumping to the conclusion that the dissatisfied dems that post here are really Republicans. That is not the case, although it appears to be the easy answer for those of you that continue to support Obama.
We are turning away for many reasons.
1) the ethics breakdown within the DNC and the lack of regard for their own rules in order to select Obama.
2) the marxist background of Obama and his mentors
3) Obama’s questionable associations with Rezko, Auchi, Wright, Ayers, Acorn, and the Annenberg project.
4) the indisputable fact that there are pending lawsuits against Obama in regards to his lying on the IL Bar application and the one concerning his citizenship that has been reviewed and left open by the federal court judge in PA.
5) the indisputable fact that Obama was named in the opening statements of the federal corruption trial of Antoin Rezko as a player in said corruption by Patrick Fitzgerald’s team of prosecutors.
6) the lack of a track record of valid accomplishements
7) the disconcerting history of his being a part of the Chicago Political machine, much of which has been and now is under investigation for corruption.
The list goes on. Anyone who would open-mindedly investigate Barack Obama would come away with a far different picture of the man who wants to be president than his campaign paints him to be.
