Graciousness, meet puerility.

You may have seen the following, brand-new McCain ad earlier today in SusanUnPc’s piece. In a political season, no advertisement is without some value to the candidate making it; however, this spot is gracious, noting the historic nature of Obama’s candidacy. McCain congratulates Obama on his nomination.

However, have you heard the response from the Obama campaign? ABCNews talked with David Plouffe over the phone and read the script to him. Here’s his response as reported by ABC.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe – - who did not know the content of the ad until we read him the script — just told us that the McCain ad is “a very nice gesture. We appreciate that. I wish more of his ads had that tone. But for tonight we appreciate it and will congratulate him next week on his nomination.”

Anyone with class would have said something like, “We appreciate Senator McCain’s words on this important occasion.” But getting a gratuitous dig in just shows how small these people are. It would have cost nothing to be gracious – to also take stock of this event on the anniversary of a very important civil rights speech by MLK and draw attention to that rather than to political “counting coup.”

But that’s not the post-racial, not-politics-as-usual Obama way.

No class, no how, no ‘Bama.

Maybe some hi profile attorney will take on the case against the DNC and charge them with conspiring. Don’t think it would take too much to prove that case. One definition for conspiracy is this.

3. (Law) An agreement, manifesting itself in words or deeds, by which two or more persons confederate to do an unlawful act, or to use unlawful to do an act which is lawful; confederacy.

Are there not election laws and guidelines?

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-08-29 09:08:15

That has always been the point. If not for the Clinton supporters the Obama National Committee would have been perfectly happy to skip the convention and go straight to the coronation. The ONC probably blames Clinton … and us for the money they had to spend on the convention.

More of the Obama brand of “new politics.”

Obama is the one who said he’d bring a gun to a knife fight.

Obama is the one who gave Hillary the finger.

He’s not who he says he is.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-29 04:32:40

yeah, the comment about bringing a gun to a knife fight really surprised me. It definitely shows his thug mentality.
EVEN the gangs on the streets of New York City’s worst ghettos, EVEN the gangsters of Al Capone’s time, EVEN the “villans” of the old west believed in a “fair fight”. EVEN “honor among theives” tells us you don’t do things like “shoot an unarmed man” or take an upper hand that puts your opponent at a great disadvantage.
I work in an inner city school and these kids on the streets, the gang members that threaten neighborhoods, even they have a “code of honor” and “bringing a gun to a knife fight” is the mark of a coward. Someone who knows he doesn’t have the skill, the ability, the experience or a chance of winning a fair fight so he cowardly cheats and dishonors himself, not his opponent by not acknowledging centuries old “rules of engadgment” regardless of whether they be physical or diplomatic. It’s a confession of being a coward and unable to win in a fair fight and is typical of the crooked chicago politics that obama was bred in.

Comment by tminu | 2008-08-29 06:04:45

That’s why Obama’s never won an election, he just clears the playing field first.

Comment by Cixelsyd | 2008-08-29 09:35:19

Fair fight? Al Capone? Really?

Learn some history…start wiht the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre to start. How was that “fair”?

Should the U.S. military give back its latest and greatest equipment in the interest of keeping the fight “fair”?

Hell no. If you are going to fight, you fight to win, end of story.

Then again, I couldn’t help thinking that Sen. McCain is probably soooo relieved that the DNC’s been so kind in giving him this nomination. Makes the McCain campaign’s job ever so much easier. Had he faced Hillary, well, who knows what his ad would have been, eh?

Tomorrow the gloves come off.” Someone should find that long snarky letter JMcC wrote to BO about not getting fooled again (over the ethics committee). He can be very sarcastic, and that’s what this ad is to me, a very gracious–threat. :) )) Bring in on, Mac!

You guys are rich. All the sneering, contemptuous ads McCain has been running, the things McCain has said out loud directly impugning Obama’s patriotism — and you’re offending by Plouffe saying “I wish more of his ads had that tone” in the midst of saying thank you for a kind gesture? Really? That’s offensive and classless to you? Well, consider Obama’s throwing down the gauntlet in front of McCain a gauntlet thrown in front of you, too. I don’t think we’ll be seeing many more “Obambi” references. Obama took a long series of McCain punches over the past few weeks, then stood in front of the entire planet and called McCain out. You want a debate about who has the judgment and temperament to be commander in chief? Bring it on. You dare to impugne my patriotism? You make idiotic claims about Osama bin Laden when you can’t even be bothering advocating a stepped-up effort to catch him?

The American people know authenticity when they see it. They know leadership when they see it. They know greatness when they see it.

Enjoy the sinking sensation in your chests when you watch the polls over the next few days, PUMAs. And enjoy watching your standard-bearers in the Republican Party try to wriggle out of even holding their loser, minority-party snorefest in Minnesota. Governor Arnold just backed out, the President has already hinted he won’t show on Monday; now they’re making noise about postponing the whole thing. I think the entire Republican Party is reeling tonight.
I could not be more delighted.

Oh, and btw, as one blogger pointed out: all your ranting about Greek temples missed the point. Obama’s set was subtly allusive of the West Wing. Duh.

Is Obama really “Obambi”… a poor, naive political waif, unable and unprepared to meet the challenges of the political landscape?

Or is he the experienced, Machiavellian, Chicago style, machine politician cleverly and cruely working to steal elections behind the scenes?

You guys should really settle on a message. This scattershot approach just makes you look foolish.

Comment by noproblama | 2008-08-29 14:09:12

OK let me clear it up for you.

He’s Obambi because that’s exactly how much gravitas he has. He’s a puppet, a wimp, someone who had his lunch eaten in the debates and would get eaten alive in the world arena.

The fact that he would say or do anything and align himself with unsavory individuals in his quest for personal glory makes him sleazy at best and a sociopath at worst.

But you’re right, we should have more respect for Bambi.

SFU Hillary,
I don’t know why it should suprise anyone coming from you; but you do know you are repeating lies on behalf of your Messiah again, right? Most of what little Barry said yesterday was untrue.
The challenge to debate, that you referenced so lovingly,ah, if only it were credible. Obamabi has been running full speed from debating anyone. First he whined and ran from Hillary and then he hid like a child from McCain. When he did finally consent to being questioned-by a pastor, no less. He was an abysmal failure. Awww…poor Obambi.
He can stage the second coming of Christ (which he obviously thinks he is) on a nightly basis, and it won’t give him one iota of credibilty-not one.
That celebration he put on was a spectacle to be sure- more fitting to be bestowed upon our service men and women perhaps, than a tribute to the least qualified nominee to ever be ’selected’.

The American people know authenticity when they see it. They know leadership when they see it. They know greatness when they see it.

They sure do and it goes by the name- McCain.

When you have time; come back, SFU, and we can go over Barky’s speech line by line, to see where he led you of his flock astray.

I don’t know, I get the feeling McCain is a little backhanded with his congrats.

The line about Obother’s acceptance speech being, OMG what a coincidence, on the anniversary of MLK’s “I have a Dream” day seems to be delivered a little tongue-in-cheek.

Or maybe I’m just projecting.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-29 06:49:48

Doesn’t matter.

A smart campaign takes a congratulations at face value, and responds graciously. That way, there’s NO STORY.

Now, the story is that Team Assholebama has stiff-armed the war hero when he offered congratulations.

Advantage–McCain.

The DNC picked Denver, and picked the dates of the convention, BEFORE we had a “presumptuous” nominee.

And then FL and MI got gamed to ensure Clinton’s disadvantage, and then the caucuses were well, to put it kindly, abused.

Coincidence?

Maybe McCain knows more about Dean and his crew than we do.

Comment by Zee | 2008-08-29 08:56:05

You are not projecting. I totally noticed that and it was a complete dig, telling the DNC that they knew the fix was in.

I thought it was brilliant.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-29 04:44:26

McCain spent valuable campaign money to send a congratulations to his opponent because it marked a significant event in civil rights history in a remarkable way. obi responded with “oh, that was nice, we’ll congratulate him on his nomination too”.
He wasn’t congratulating YOU obama, he was congratulating the fact that on such an important anniversary that MLK’s dream is seeing fruition in that a black man has reached equality in every way by being a candidate for the highest office in the land. MLK’s dream is here and the color of a man’s skin is not a factor in whether he can be elected POTUS or not.

I, myself, would add that he has achieved it in a year and time that only a total moron with lack of any morality or ethics could possibly lose given the party he is in, the party the sitting president is in and the events going on in our world and society right now. Only the worst of the worst could blow this election, and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.
obama would make MLK sick at his stomach. But then, MLK was a great man, he would not allow obi to be at this point because he knows this isn’t eqaulity, it’s manipulation that instead of equality, suggests superiority which is NOT what MLK wanted from ANY race.
MLK said he doesn’t want it to be based on the color of one’s skin but on the content of one’s character, obi, your skin isn’t the issue, your character, or lack thereof is the issue and is what will cause you to lose the election.

Comment by John Smith | 2008-08-29 05:43:55

You know this would really be historic if Obama was actually black.

Comment by bert | 2008-08-29 06:57:11

I was just thinking the same thing. Obama has never experienced the American black expereince. He never lived in a ghetto. He never had to go to the back of the bus. He never endured substandard educational opportunities. He was never denied a job becasue of the color of his skin. Obama has used his skin colir like he uses everything else in his life – purely for personal gain.

Comment by JML | 2008-08-29 08:44:30

Thank you!!! Why don’t Black Americans see this?

People snickered at Hillary for saying her dad taught her to shoot guns, as if they thought she was milking it to pander to gun owners. Yet Obama has gotten away with milking an entire personal history that never existed to pander to entire racial demographic!

He represents the same Black people that the Huxtables represented on the Cosby show, with their doctor dad and lawyer mom and privileged kids — which is to say, a very small minority of Black American families.

Comment by C.S. | 2008-08-29 07:29:13

It is historic for more than just Obama being Kenyan/Indonesian and half American; unfortunately it’s not historically the first time a political party dared to publically steal an election from the Voters and then nomination the loser; that’s happened before. Making that kind of history we can do without.

But it is historically the first time that an unqualified candidate of any color or ethnicity was allowed to steal an election and the first time we didn’t even know the legal name or citizenship of the candidate stealing it.

And it’s the very first time that a would-be king has ever been allowed to claim victory from a Roman-like gladiator coliseum which is the wrong subliminal message to send to a Democracy…much too Hitleresque for this plain and proud American.

But I did get the implied historic message. No longer any need to even pretend our elections are fair and honest. Goodbye Democracy, hello Dictatorship.

I’m still hoping for a McCain/Clinton ticket. I want them to rock the political world and bring democracy and dignity back to the process and the White House.

Now that they have every indignity upon Hillary, I would like to see her get out from under Obama and the DNC.

I have never voted for a Repub for POTUS, or any other office, but McCain is only part Repub and a McCain/Clinton ticket would be Repub in name only. It would be revolutionary.

I have been wondering if McCain has been trying to talk Hillary into it. I think McCain would go for it, but I don’t think Hillary would. That would be sad.

I understand Hillary’s desire to accomplish all that is dear to her in the Senate but the fact is, if Omaba were elected, she’d be toast. Another reason to defeat Obama.

Comment by Diana | 2008-08-29 06:19:05

You watch and see if he wins they will try to oust her from her seat. Run anyone they can against her and prop them up. They want the Clintons out of Washington. They don’t cater to the radical side of Democrats…Hillary works too much across party lines. I’m willing to bet the threat has already gone out against Diane Feinstein as well, she also works a lot across the table.

Comment by democracyfirst | 2008-08-29 06:28:51

That’s why I think it is a mistake for Hillary to not take a different route. Even though I’ve always been passionate about politics and democracy, I’m no expert on politics so I’m sure she knows what she is doing. I hope she makes the right decisions.

Comment by Susan | 2008-08-29 06:58:39

Comment by gmanedit | 2008-08-29 10:27:43

Diana, I agree they would try to oust her. However, they aren’t the “radical side” of Democrats, if by “radical” you mean “left” — they don’t even support the working class anymore. They serve the uberlords of Wall Street and global capital — wealth redistribution upward, not downward.

As always, nice job! Like you, I slept through it (no, my TV wasn’t on). From what I’ve read, it sounds like the speech was plagarism city; from Hillary, from Bill, from movies. At least no one caught him stealing from MLK.

I especially liked this quote from Obama:

“If you don’t have a record to run on, you paint your opponent as someone to run from”

Did he really say that? What a fool.

If you want to see it, the DNC has footage at their site. You have to install two plug ins, but the picture is VERY smooth and clear.

It’s interesting to see the beginning and the end. The middle is pretty typical stuff–sounded more like a stump speech than an acceptance speech.

I wasn’t “lifted up,” I wasn’t “transported,” and I didn’t think it was “Ewwwwwww, so WONDERFUL!”

I just wasn’t … moved.

That set was definitely Over The Top. But then, the company that put it together is the same company that does sets for….

The few minutes I did watch I noticed there were some “supporters” on the stage who didn’t clap during one speaker’s enthusiastic speech. Sir or Lady Wow (I assume you’ve been knighted by now)

Compliments are an expression of esteem, respect, affection and admiration
. Your Lord and Master has not earned them so why should we try to deceive the deceiver?

Obviously you have mistaken “politics” with democracy but all is not lost. You can pick up a copy of Democracy for Dummies and try to understand the meaning of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Bill of Rights. Pay particular attention to that part about We the People and that bit about our elected public servants.

It is unforgivable, but not unexpected, that an Indonesian raised male from a police state where women were not equals, didn’t bother to conform to Our Constitution – that’s why our Constitution insists on our executives being native born. But, unless you are also a foreign born national (in which case why are you here) you have no excuse for your views ridiculing your democracy.

Five minutes into Obama’s speech my eyes began to close and I had to turn the television off and turn in. Nothing new there.

I feel bad for the dems. They should have presented an AA that everyone could respect and vote for. Instead we get “know nothing” Obama. I am still waiting for this great intelligence I hear about to spill over into his speeches. All I hear from him is bullsh*t.

Congratulations Barack Obama on a beautiful, patriotic and heartfelt speech delivered last night at Invesco. What a breathtaking orator.

Delivered flawlessly in front of a crowd of 84,000, even GOP pundits Bill Kristol, Patrick Feeney, Brit Hume and David Gergen chose to raise their cups and grab a sip of the koolaid!

But even more satisfying…to hear Paul Begala almost in tears at the conclusion of the speech- PRICELESS.

Hats off to you Barack for inspiring Americans to get involved in the process…organize in your own communities and take responsibility for your family and actions. He can’t do it alone.

Comment by Roxanne | 2008-08-29 07:24:54

Now..now, Mr. Hopium, there’s no need to name call. As you already know, this country is known for electing people to office that are popular.

Do Arnold, Reagan, Clinton, Ventura come to mind? That’s not my fault. You must take that up with your fellow countrymen.

Comment by Astra14 | 2008-08-29 07:42:40

Yes, but remember they went through the normal electoral process without any rigging. No trying to force other candidates to drop out during the election process, all the primaries ran to the end, no fixed rollcall votes (all the candidates got their chance to be counted), they got elected how elections are supposed to be run. That’s why no one is upset how they ran, they all won fairly.

Comment by Hope | 2008-08-29 07:47:12

this country is known for electing people to office that are popular.

Maybe, but none of those popular people have the past Obambi does. How’s that manufactured resume coming along? Oh, that’s right, his voting record is public. On to the fake autobiography- how’s that holding up?

Did Ayers, Odinga, Wright, Pfleger, Auchi, Khalidi, Hamas, and his typical white grandma call to congratulate him- or was it only Oprah throwing adulation at the Black Celebrity Orator?

Don’t you find it unsulting that so many are impressed simply because your candidate can speak? Sort of like a trained monkey or bird. It’s sad.
Obama runs against a true American that has dedicated his life to serving this country and all you’ve got is- He speaks well.

Comment by Roxanne | 2008-08-29 08:16:37

How transparent can you be? You’d give your left (insert body part) if that was your revered candidate – glowing in the spotlite in front of 84,000, among the cheers and tears, the exuberant fireworks, the enigmatic music… but you were probably home in a tattered bathrobe, eating bon-bons while gritting your teeth in anger.

That, darling is what is sad.

Roxanne, at that time in 1992 Bill Clinton could have been Governor for Life in Arkansas had he wanted it. His skills at running the state were that great. Why do you think the republicans went after him with all those manufactured sex scandals? It was all they had.

And no drearie, I wasn’t sitting in a tattered bath robe eating bon-bons, I was driving home after a hard days work heaving heavy equipment parts around. I listened to Obama read a speech off a teleprompter. A speech like his hope and change speech that somebody else wrote.

The only sad thing here is you Obamazoids.

Her books include Germany Unified and Europe Transformed (1995) with Philip Zelikow, The Gorbachev Era (1986) with Alexander Dallin, and Uncertain Allegiance: The Soviet Union and the Czechoslovak Army (1984). Questions for Condi
from Margie Burns

1. Dr. Rice, you were admitted to the University of Denver when you were still in high school, while your father was Assistant Director of Admissions at the university. Did you take the ACT or the SAT for admission, and did you meet all admissions requirements that the other incoming freshmen had to meet?

2. Dr. Rice, you have stated candidly in interviews that your first love was not political science but piano, and that you switched to Poli Sci halfway through college because it was a major you could finish in two years. When you were admitted to the rightwing graduate program in political science at Indiana, who paid your tuition there? When you returned to complete a doctorate in political science at U Denver, who paid your tuition there? When you were sent on an extensive trip to Eastern Europe, as a graduate student, how was the trip arranged and financed?

3. Dr. Rice, your biographies show that you were an intern at the Rand Corporation. Did Rand pick up any of the costs of your education? Was the internship a paid or unpaid? You subsequently became a board member at Rand; have you fully disclosed your financial support from Rand over the years?

4. How did the Hoover Institution at Stanford come to choose you as a Fellow, at $30,000 per year, back when full professors in political science made an average $34,000?

5. How was your transition from Hoover Fellow to tenure-track Stanford faculty arranged, and by whom? Did you continue to receive income from the Hoover Institute?

6. How was the publication of your dissertation as a book, by Princeton University Press, arranged?

7. Between the time of your start at Stanford and your promotion to tenure, did you publish any scholarly articles besides the dissertation?

8. When you served on the board of Chevron Oil, did you agree with company opposition to the sanctions against Saddam Hussein?

9. Do you currently receive any income or anything of material value from ChevronTexaco? Will you return to the Chevron board when you leave government?

10. Did you participate, directly or indirectly, in the oil policy decisions formulated in the early months of 2001 in the office of the Vice President? Were your colleagues at Chevron cognizant of plans for Iraq by the Vice President?

11. Thomas Stephenson, venture capitalist, donated $2 million to Stanford to provide an endowed chair for you. Have you received income from that interest while serving in government?

12. Have you ever disclosed or released publicly a full accounting of your financial interests, while in government?

13. Do you now receive or have you during your time in government received anything of material value from Rand, Chevron, other companies with which you have ties or companies connected to the Stephensons?

Obama’s welcome compared to Clinton’s welcome at the podium.

I had to watch Obambi walk on stage – it seemed to me that for that many people the crowd was not very loud or overly receptive to him; however for Bill Clinton’s speech Wed night they carried on so much he had to tell them to sit down not once but several times and they were chanting ” Bill, Bill even Hillary had a better welcome than Obama.

Someone tell me if you agree – it is in the video for all to see. Alot of those people were in the stadium for the free concert not to hear Obambi.

At least Senator Clinton and former President Bill Clinton got their ovations from The People at the party Convention and didn’t need to bribe people to listen to them.

If Obama needs to be propped up just trying to get elected no one would listen to him if was declared president. GWB all over again!

The Clinton’s stole the show was the concensus.

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska City Council from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, she challenged the incumbent mayor, criticizing wasteful spending and high taxes. The ex-mayor and sheriff tried to organize a recall campaign, but failed. Palin kept her campaign promises, reducing her own salary, as well as reducing property taxes 60%. She ran for reelection against the former mayor in 1999, winning by an even larger margin.Palin was also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.

Highlights of Governor Palin’s tenure include a successful push for an ethics bill, and also shelving pork-barrel projects supported by fellow Republicans. Palin successfully killed the Bridge to Nowhere project that had become a nationwide symbol of wasteful earmark spending. “Alaska needs to be self-sufficient, she says, instead of relying heavily on ‘federal dollars,’ as the state does today.”

She has challenged the state’s Republican leaders, helping to launch a campaign by Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell to unseat U.S. Congressman Don Young[18] and publicly challenging Senator Ted Stevens to come clean about the federal investigation into his financial dealings. Palin supports holding occasional legislative sessions outside the state capital, and municipal revenue sharing to help local governments.

You mean like this?

Biden has accepted $5,133,072 in contributions from lawyers and lobbyists since 2003. Obama does not accept contributions from federally registered lobbyists.

And he has one other weakness that hasn’t received much attention to date. One of Biden’s sons, Hunter, is a registered Washington lobbyist in a year in which Obama has been excoriating lobbyists and the culture of corruption in Washington. The younger Biden is a name partner at the firm Oldaker, Biden & Belair, LLP, and seems to have specialized in lobbying for just the kind of earmark spending by Congress that Obama has vowed to slash. Republican insiders say the party is likely to make an issue of Biden’s family lobbying ties.

Also expect to hear more about Biden’s close ties with credit card companies. His largest contributor (based on total contributions by employees) over the past five years has been MBNA, the Delaware-based bank aquired in 2005 by Bank of America than until then was the world’s largest independent credit card issuer and a major supporter of the 2005 bankruptcy bill that Biden crossed the aisle to support.

Puerile is a good adjective for Obama supporters, including Chris Matthews, who said last night:

“Again he [Barack Obama] carries with him the history of tonight. And it’s important to point out, as we have not so far, Barack Obama was not given this nomination, he won it. He was not offered a nice title like Secretary of State, like Condoleezza Rice got from the Republicans. He was not offered the title of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs as Colin Powell was, or Secretary of State. He won the nomination of a Democratic Party voting together. He defeated all other opponents and took the prize and took the leadership. He is the chosen leader of the Democratic Party.
He is not some popular appointment or a showcase appointment. He is the victor here tonight. That’s why he dictates the agenda. That’s why he says, personally, what the Democratic Party will do if he’s elected President. He is the leader of the party. He may be the leader of the country through a democratic process. It is so vital to understand the history being made here tonight. This is not something cute or wonderful. It is something compelling and powerful. This country has changed its history.”

Obama was selected not elected. He has done nothing in his career, certainly on the level of Condi Rice of Colin Powell. He lacks any distinction in what he has done. If SD’s went the way their voters voted, she’d be the nominee.

Unbelievable.

Comment by Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose? | 2008-08-29 08:20:53

That’s some revisionist history going on here:

He won the nomination of a Democratic Party voting together.

That’s funny, I thought I heard Hillary giving up her delegates the other night.

So it could be argued that Obama’s nomination is the result of Hillary’s largesse.

That would wipe out Hillary’s chances in 2012 if they have a good 4 years.

Sadly, that may be true. Hillary took that chance when she backed Ofraudma.

Comment by democracyfirst | 2008-08-29 09:00:53

I know she backed Obama to keep the approval of the DNC and the zealots, but she lost her political future no matter how you look at it.

If Obama is elected, she’ll lose her influence in the Senate and likely her seat.

If McCain wins with a popular VP, she will not have a chance in 2012.

When the truth about Obama comes out, she will look as bad as the rest who supported him.

I don’t understand her decision. I have a feeling Bill was urging her to take a different route. He is the most political savvy person alive.

I know she was in an almost impossible situation but she has to know the Obama balloon is going to burst big time.

I’m not giving up on McCain/Clinton until McCain makes his announcement today.

Palin is a women, but she is ultra, ultra conservative and has some scandal in her recent past.

When this all plays out, I will know who to vote for in November. The only thing I know for sure is it will Never be for Obama.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-08-29 10:15:35

I had that same thought. The GOP wanted to wipe out Obama and Clinton and I think they are succeeding. I am a Clinton loyalist, but I think she is going to have to make history other than being the first woman president. Let’s just hope McCain will give her a cabinet position. I think that is possible. Personally, I think Hillary would make a great Secretary of State.

Either these people like BringItBitch are paid employees who would switch sides in an instant if offered more money or people who have no idea what a democracy is. Whichever, they are poorly informed and couldn’t convince anyone they have a solid belief in Obama.

And for some unfathomable reason, they think there is no choice but to give Obama the crown. But it is obvious that they feel elections just stand in the way of his coronation. Obama and his supporters need to find an uninhabited island and set up their own little fiefdom far, far away from our Democratic/Republic.

Comment by Hope | 2008-08-29 10:21:10

The tide has turned, in a powerful way.
It is no less than heartbreaking that so many lifelong Dems have no party left to support.
Your sexist remarks only help solidify the disaffected dems.

Someone has to win the election. Obama and his followers like you, Roxanne, sfHillary,Kelvin and all the others who belittle, boast, and denigrate voters anguishing over their decision are the very reason McCain has the big shot at it that he does.

Keep screeching while McCain quietly makes the decisions that show him to be the reformer and the dedicated servant to America that he is. His pick for VP shows a progressivism the Dems only ‘talk’ about.

Flashback: 40 Years Ago Today, Bill Ayers Arrested at DNC

Posted by The Oracle on 8/28/2008, 2:20 pm
69.248.29.250

For those Democrats who are too young to have a proper appreciation of their party’s history, which likely includes most of Senator Obama’s supporters, we direct your attention to a memorable moment in DNC history that shows how the current nominee really is connected to the party’s past as much as its future.

It was forty years ago today that Barack Obama friend and political ally, and unrepentant terrorists, William Ayers was arrested while protesting the DNC proceedings. William Ayers set no bombs that day, but he was only working his way up from petty criminal to domestic terrorist. And of course this was long before Barack Obama and he struck up the friendship that would lead Ayers to launch Obama’s political career at his house.

Still, the McCain campaign would take this opportunity to remind voters that those responsible for the violence in 1968 have since been incorporated into the party they once protested, and have been revered even by the likes of Barack Obama, and this despite the failure, in the case of Ayers, to ever apologize for the violence he committed against the American people.

Why would Hillary lose her Senate seat if BO loses???

Hillary remains the strongest and most powerful single member of the Democratic party (aside from BO of course, but he’s only strong if he wins). She won’t lose any of her clout or her power. Her backing of BO won’t matter; and it’s just as well she’s not his VP if he’s going to lose. Hillary could take Palin.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS AN AGENT OF HOPE AND CHANGE — HE “HOPES” WE WON’T NOTICE HOW OFTEN HE “CHANGES” HIS MIND.

Why is an “ARABIC” news network covering Obama’s campaign?

THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE CHANNEL OF THE “ARABIC” NEWS NETWORK “AL JAZEERA” IS BROADCASTING FROM GOLDEN, COLO., home of the Coors Brewing Company , as part of its coverage of the Democratic National Convention, as well as from the Pepsi Center and Invesco Field.

The broadcasts from small-town Colorado are intended to show their international audience a slice of Americana, according to political program editor Julian Ingle. Only one satellite provider and a handful of cable companies carry Al Jazeera English in the United States, BUT THE NETWORK IS AVAILABLE IN 120 MILLION HOMES IN 80 COUNTRIES.

Did anyone read Maureen Dowd’s article recently? This is a person I’ve never really cared for; however, when she reported that “Millions and Tens of Millions of dollars” have gone to Obama from very QUESTIONABLE SOURCES in Saudi Arabia, IRAN, Syria, Libya, and millions of Muslims around the world, I had to pay attention.

THE OBAMA CAMP’S RESPONSE WAS THEY ARE TOO BUSY TO CHECK WHERE THE MONEY IS COMING FROM — Every Muslim around the world is cheering for Obama — wonder WHY???

Is Obama a sheep in wolf’s clothing?

Think before you vote!

Maureen Dowd is one of these disgustingly misogynistic insecure moronic females who did as great a job as the sexist media frat-boys in Hillary-bashing and ensuring that the fraudulent Obama gets pushed to a fraudulent ‘finish line’ of superdels.

I had to return her book which was full of inanities and pseud-feminist observations deserving of a Grade 8 dropout. Obama should have used Maureen as the subject of now (in)famous Youtube mega-hit: “Obama Gives Hillary the Finger”.

She is a disgrace to womanhood and journalism in that order! The New York Times tried to tone this vicious misogynist and Hillary hater down, but she’s still writing her vitriolic garbage–with the exception of some decent research on Obama’s secret islamist agenda for her Republican bosses.

Obama donated thousands of dollars and actively campaigned in Kenya on behalf of his Islamist Sharia Law cousin Odinga — who is also a billionaire slumlord and developer as well as president of Kenya now.
