Don Fowler, Former DNC Chairman: Classless!!!

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Don Fowler has “hoof and mouth” (Thanks LisaB for the “stuffed unity jackass” etal…) disease. He was recently caught on tape hoping that Hurricane Gustav hits the United States coastal area around Louisiana. As if Katrina wasn’t enough already! What the hell is there to laugh all about it anyways? I don’t get it! Our fellow American citizens are facing utter disaster again and this man laughs. Real class act!

Well he thinks Hurricane Gustav is God’s Favor to Democrats… You will never believe when you here it in his own voice. (Thank you RedState for revealing the callousness of certain Democrats.)

Here is Don Fowler… all classless and at his worst!

And here is more from RedState:

On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats’ convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least.

For example, they made fun of Sarah Palin for several minutes, Fowler calling her “Dan Quayle” on steroids and Spratt creatively describing her as “just terrible.” They both agreed that, “Other than the simple fact that she’s a female,” she has nothing to offer.

What is wrong with these guys? Is it really funny that our Southern Coastal regions may be devastated by another hurricane? If Fowler and Spratt think it is this funny, stop using and reusing Katrina for your own political gains! And while you are at it, get some class!

Katrina is when I finally gave up the MSM.

Remember the DAYS of stories by ALL the media companies that roving gangs [IMPLICIT: BLACK PEOPLE] were raping people in the Superdome and that it was like Lord of the Flies in there. That dead bodies of the murdered were being piled in the bathrooms which were overflowing in black people’s bodily waste.

And even stories of canabalism.

And then I think at the end of the week or the next week, they wwere like “oh , none of that stuff happened. nevermind”

WHAT!

Comment by sfhillary | 2008-08-31 09:45:01

Well, you’re right. But the latest idiocy on the part of the MSM is the story they told throughout the Democratic convention that there were swarms of Hillary supporters who wouldn’t support Barack Obama. That has since been proved false as well.

Comment by Joe Biden's hair plugs speak out! | 2008-08-31 09:58:24

What MSM outlet reported the “swarms of Hillary supporters that wouldn’t support Obighead?”

The MSM story during the convention was all about Faux Unity, as in the Don Fauxler kind of togetherness.

And please stay on topic. Do you think it’s wonderful that Fauxler is laughing about hurricane victims?

Talk amongst yourself.

Comment by sfhillary | 2008-08-31 10:24:41

No. I think it’s ugly and wrong and should be condemned. But you are wrong about the MSM: they spent the whole week talking about the Clintons and protests and asking whether Obama could unite the party. Which he did, easily, with the Clintons’ help. Thanks Bill and Hillary, for helping ensure Obama’s election to the Presidency!

LOL. Poor PUMAs. Abandoned, completely, by your “hero.” You deserve it. Your willingness to abandon progressive principles in order to support McCain is utterly disgraceful.

Comment by Heather | 2008-08-31 10:38:15

” Your willingness to abandon progressive principles in order to support McCain is utterly disgraceful.”

That’s a laugh out loud statement, sfhillary.

Who, exactly, is it who has abandoned progressive principles by voting for FISA and supporting NAFTA? Who has abandoned progressive principles by cynically using “race” as a wedge between formerly united democratic voters? Who has abandoned progressive principles by using sexism to denigrate an opponent? And who has abandoned progressive principles by violating the rule of one person one vote? Who abandoned progressive principles by refusing public funding for his campaign?

When Obama gets through with the Democratic party there will be no shred of true progressism left. Unless “progressive” is redefined to mean stuff like: “I got 99 problems and a bitch ain’t one” and spending millions (that could be used to feed hungry children) on obscene publicity stunts.

No -you’re wrong.

The efforts of the PUMAs caused the roll call to happen – the FAUX roll call that even the
UK Guardian reporter
assigned to the US Elections was able to recognize as phony.

And PUMA organizations such as The Denver Group are going to continue to publicize the sham that was the 2008 non-Democratic primary.

Since you agree that Fauxler’s comments are ugly and wrong and should be condemned, will you continue to support a party whose elite displays such contempt for American citizens in distress?

Comment by fif | 2008-08-31 10:48:52

You seem to be quite obssessed with these “non-existent” PUMAs. I wonder why Obambi didn’t get that expected 10-15 point bump in the polls? And why he is still not attracting 48% of HRC supporters? Who could those phantom people possibly be? You seem kinda worried though, I hope you’re sleeping ok.

Comment by jadwiga | 2008-08-31 11:48:29

By definition a PUMA is a Hillary supporter who doesn’t support Obama. 48% of 18 million is how many?
If I would be an Obot, I would cry out my eyes.

Meanwhile, Obama has stated that preparations for hurricane Gustav “appear to be good”. As if this lightweight knows what has to be done. While he was sitting on his ass preparing for his coronation, other things were going on.

Hurricane Fay was devastating Florida, causing the death of several people and hundreds of millions of dollars in damage but Obama was busy, making sure that his shirt and tie didn’t clash with the carpeting at the coliseum. In Louisiana, Governor Jindhal and his bipartisan team sat down with officials from FEMA, state and local emergency disaster boards, working out evacuation routes, gas, food and water stations along the routes, and transportation and shelter for those without. Obama did…nothing!

Now he thinks he’s an expert on hurricanes, disaster relief, transportation and God knows what and he has the audacity to tell them that things “appear to be good”? I understand that he’s “trying” to look presidential, but all he’s doing is proving he’s a pompous ass. Then again, I think he’s scared because the mere mention of a hockey Mom from Alaska took his convention “bounce” and turned it into negative numbers. Bambi is scared!

Comment by fif | 2008-08-31 10:50:26

The next attack by blowbama central will be whining that McCain and Palin are grandstanding, etc. etc. etc.

Followed immediately by video of Obama standing imperiously to one side, doing that Mussolini chin-thrust he’s way too good at, sleeves rolled up “Brownie” style, stealing credit.

Oh yeah, and talking. Talking a lot.

For example, she voted in legislation partner benefits for gays when she could have vetoed the measure. She is aganst gay marriage but she believed to veto the measure was unconstitutional. WHERE ARE ALL THE LEFTISTS WHEN A REAL CONSTITUTIONALIST APPEARS?

There is no way possible for him to do all he says. After Bush, we are looking to find the “dream world” but we must wake up to reality and beware of the “wolf in sheep’s clothing.” We must not be taken in by all the glitz and glamor of this democratic nominee. Remember when they put Tammy Ductworth into the race and forced out the true democratic candidate? And they withheld promised funds from the FBI lady in MN so that her campaign failed. What else?

I woke up this morning to the rumor about Palin’s last child really being her daughter’s…

I stopped tuning in any Air America-ish shows since they all went drippy for Obama, but the other day, right after Palin’s unveiling, I turned to XM-167 and heard a bit of Thom Hartmann’s reaction.

Back in the darkest Bush years I valued the Thom Hartmann show. He debated far left and far right and was unfailingly polite. But he got pretty weird for Obama along with the rest of the Lefty talk radio hosts so I stopped listening.

Anyway, there was Thom. From his tone of voice I could picture him practically leering into the microphone as he whispered creepy-ass and irrelevant innuendos about Palin, that her seventeen year old daughter was pregnant, blah blah blah blah.

I was embarrassed for Hartmann. Really embarrassed.

Comment by ummm | 2008-08-31 03:19:52

Charles Krauthammer:

McCain had been steadily gaining on Obama (before the inevitable convention bounce) and had the race in a dead heat in a year in which the generic Democrat is running ten points ahead of the generic Republican. He had succeeded in making this a referendum on Obama. The devastating line of attack was, “Is he ready to lead?”

The Palin selection completely undercuts the argument about Obama’s inexperience and readiness to lead — on the theory that because Palin is a maverick and a corruption fighter, she bolsters McCain’s claim to be the reformer in this campaign. In her rollout today, Palin spoke a lot about change. McCain is now trying to steal “change” from Obama, a contest McCain will lose in an overwhelmingly Democratic year with an overwhelmingly unpopular incumbent Republican administration. At the same time, he’s weakening his strong suit — readiness vs. unreadiness.

The McCain campaign is reveling in the fact that Palin is a game changer. But why a game changer when you’ve been gaining? To gratuitously undercut the remarkably successful “Is he ready to lead” line of attack seems near suicidal.

Comment by J Lark | 2008-08-31 05:08:25

Why a game changer? Strategic move against Barack’s money machine. By pushing off Obaiden from its predictable paths he throws him off financially, making him spend more money in ways he was not ready to do. That creates a weakness and prompts costly mistakes from an inexperienced campaign.

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-08-31 07:04:56

Obama only got an 8-point bump in the polls. Let’s see. If I recall, that’s half of what Bill Clinton got in 1992 (16 pts.).
http://www.gallup.com
The move to select Palin was brilliant if for nothing else than the fact that McCain stole the day from Obama. The Obama campaign was hoping that the whole news day on Friday would be filled up with replays of his coronation and soundbites from his pompous speech. Instead, all they were talking about was Sarah Palin. Obama was upstaged by a woman. How humiliating!
Score one for McCain.

Comment by Nicole | 2008-08-31 08:26:57

I do think the selection of Governor Palin as Senator McCain’s running mate is brilliant. She’s like a character out of a 1930s Frank Capra movie (”Mr Smith Goes to Washington”)–an outsider with a reputation for fighting against corruption, and winning. Krauthammer and the rest are going to be very surprised. They underestimate her appeal.

Comment by getfitnow | 2008-08-31 08:42:55

More bizarre logic in this election cycle. If memory serves me right, voters elect Governors to the White House. Let’s count- Texas, Arkansas, California, Georgia. Governors have the executive experience. They manage education, transporation, public safety, national guard, public health, environment, energy, taxes and budgets, economic development and jobs! They have a record we can examine. Not damn speeches.

We will see what a difference a GOOD governor makes in LA this time around. Yes- Bush deserved to have his ass handed to him on a platter over Katrina. But so didn’t the Governor. She was completely incompetant. She failed at every level, starting with the croonies she appointed to head important departments. And Nagin? Geeze’um!! Can you believe they re-elected that jackass???

Comment by jadwiga | 2008-08-31 12:15:44

Comment by Betty | 2008-08-31 08:27:02

Palin is on the ticket as VP, she isn’t running for president, and she will spend the next 8 years having her carrier fostered by the Republican Party and being personally mentored by President McCain. Unless something really terrible happens we will have a Republican in the White House for the next sixteen years.

That plan should have followed for Hillary and Harold Ford.

Comment by rw | 2008-08-31 09:18:27

Yes, I have had my eye on Harold Ford. Imagine what a ticket that would have made Clinton/Ford, but Ford, I think is not yet 40. So, there goes that thought.

I also like the ticket Nader/Gonzales but…not this year, there is a point to make come Nov., not just for what they’ve done this election cycle, but also what they did in 2004.

Comment by Heather | 2008-08-31 10:50:14

Comment by steven Mather | 2008-08-31 11:02:02

Krauthammer’s point has tactical merit. The question turns on whether or not Paiin’s plusses offer more value than what is lost on the ready to lead question.

For example, Palin’s record of being a corruption fighter will be complimented by Republican ads that expose the more significant examples of caucus fraud in the Democratic primary. Juxtaposing Palin, a proven anti-corruption candidate, with an Obama ticket that will appear to have illegitimately stolen the primary from Hillary Clinton, is a big plus. It replaces some of what is lost from the experience argument. Further, the experience argument is really an aspect of a judgment argument. Experience relates to informed judgment. Obama can be attacked on the judgment question, such as has been done regarding his “evolving” position on the surge, without invoking experience.

Both presidential candidates did well making their choices. McCain did better.

Comment by jadwiga | 2008-08-31 12:19:26

Obama’s choice is incredibly stupid. He ignored 18 million voters. Biden is a watered down version of Hillary. What does that give him? (other than an ego trip)

Comment by Steven Mather | 2008-08-31 19:33:15

I think Hillary was the best choice for Obama. I am glad his campaign did not conscript her. I think Biden was a good choice, once Hillary and those who said no thanks were cut from the mix.

Offensive because they come on believing that they are politically savvy and prepared with solid arguments that will convince anyone posting – or lurking – to vote for the Obama bin Biden ticket.

But today I think it’s just funny, their posts inevitably reveal the lack of education and focus, like the little girl yesterday who all of a sudden started channeling Billy Graham.

Take it for what it’s worth. Entertainment, of a sort.

Yo no se.

To a degree, you’re right; if Palin can energize the evangelical fruit loops without turning off any centrist voters (a big if), she could help McCain a little. But the mere fact that McCain made a VP pick to shore up his base constitutes dispositive evidence that he knew he was losing this election. Or at least it does for those of us who have a clue about politics.

You and I are dukin it out a little this a.m. but “yo no se” made me laugh. BF and I have a private joke about that.

Anyway -

What’s turning off the centrist women voters is the full frontal attack on Governor Palin. This is a big mistake on the part of the Obama frootloops contingent. You see, what is occurring is that these attacks are causing the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuit to expand…crossing party lines to include Dems, Reps, and Indies.

Check out the Not your Sweetie blog for an up to date tableau of the heinous sexist attacks against Governor Palin. When the conservative woman media gets hold of this, Katie bar the door.

McCain’s base was shored up after the Saddleback forum. Now he has Republican women fired up…a Republican friend of mine told me that for the first time she feels thrilled to pull the R lever for the top of the ticket.

If McCain was in trouble before, he isn’t now.

I don’t believe that Democrats or Republicans have a monopoly on foolishness or arrogance of power. It’s just that Democrats have been more successful in projecting an image of caring about women, the poor, and so on.

We know now that what they care about is power. The mask has finally been ripped off.

Comment by Betty | 2008-08-31 08:52:22

You are so right. All those years I bought into the Democratic party line – “for the Common Good”.

Pay higher taxes so that we can provide better schools, housing, roads, bridges, health care, food for the hungry, a safety net for all.

It has to be all hocum, how else could the DNC bring themselves to, not only support, but to lie and cheat for a candidate who when he had the power gave public funds, meant to rebuild public housing, to his pals to share among themselves (and him). While his constituents had to live in those garbage strewn, rat infested, broken down buildings and freeze in the winter and die of heat in the summer. And he tells us he didn’t know.

And for this guy they remained silent while Hillary Clinton, a woman who spent her whole life struggling for the common good, the former First Lady of Arkansas and the United States, a sitting United States Senator and an Internationally respected leader was held up to ridicule nationally for the size of her ankles, the sound of her laughter.

Olberman and Moore also had a good laugh at the expense of the People who survived Katrina getting another Category 5 hurricane headed their way on the anniversary of Katrina’s landfall 3 years ago.

And now the party that stole other candidates votes for Obama labels it proof that “god” is on their side when what is really proves is that Obama Democrats don’t care any more about We the People than the Bush Republicans did. The devil may be on their side, but I doubt a benevolent god is.

If we were so insignificant why would they bother coming here to try and belittle/intimidate us? Which might I add isn’t working out very well for them. Showing their true selves to anyone passing through, reading any of the articles here, the real truth about Obama supporters and the thugs they really are. I’m quite sure their actions are impressive to those on the fence. The only thing their vile is really going to do is garner vote after vote for McCain from those sitting on the fence. yeah, i just read a article where Baracktrack and Hair Plugs makes statements about how they hopes Lessons have been learned and that the levees hold…

so this is what hope and change are relegated to talk about a day after their historic convention?

shameful… looks like the maverick reformer has them rattled…

OBAMA SAYS HE HOPES LESSONS FROM KATRINA HELP PROTECT GULF COAST

BOARDMAN, Ohio — Barack Obama expressed hope Saturday that the lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina three years ago would help to protect the Gulf Coast from Hurricane Gustav this time. His running mate, Joe Biden, urged people to pray that the levees in New Orleans hold.

Obama and Biden visited a diner in this Youngstown suburb, an area that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton carried during her failed presidential bid. Trying to connect with those who are economically struggling, the Democratic candidates and their wives chatted with diners and told reporters that a properly orchestrated evacuation would be key to protecting the Gulf Coast.

“It wasn’t last time, and hopefully we’ve learned from that tragedy,” Obama told reporters as he left the diner, heading to a memorial service for the late Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress. She died Aug. 20 from a brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm.

Obama and Biden planned another joint appearance later Saturday in the Columbus area.

Northeast Ohio, a Rust Belt region where the economy has struggled, supported Clinton’s presidential bid back in March. Obama carried the Democratic stronghold of Cuyahoga County, with Cleveland, but lost 83 of 88 counties.

Since then, Obama has been a frequent visitor in the area, trying to connect with the white, working-class voters who have eluded him thus far.

Biden said the Gulf Coast appears better prepared for a major hurricane this time than it was for Katrina, which left New Orleans and surrounding areas submerged. He said it appeared officials had learned from Katrina, and he praised moves to make major highways one-way routes out of the storm-targeted areas.

“It looks like they’re incredibly well prepared, much better than they had before,” Biden said. “Just pray to God that those levees hold.”

The Bush administration’s handling of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 has been lambasted by both parties’ presidential candidates. Republican John McCain has called the response shameful, and Obama regularly blasts President Bush.

Palin greeted by raucous Pa. rally
By LISA LERER & CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN | 8/31/08 12:56 AM EST Text Size:

Washington, Pa.—If Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s first day on the campaign trail is any indication, the Republican base has finally been energized.

Money is pouring in—the McCain campaign collected $4.7 million in contributions since announcing Palin would be John McCain’s running mate Friday morning—and voters turned out in force Saturday in southwestern Pennsylvania, with some waiting four hours in the hot sun to get a glimpse of the 44-year-old mother of five whose selection shocked the political world

Even before she took the microphone, the audience hollered, clapped, and whistled their approval of the little known Alaska governor, often interrupting the other speakers with chants of “Sarah.”

Tom Ridge, the former governor of Pennsylvania and a close friend of McCain, introduced Palin to the crowd gathered at Consul Energy Park, a minor league baseball stadium in Washington, Pa.

“Leave it to my friend John to say you know it’s about time the Republican party put a woman on the ticket,” said Ridge, who was once rumored to be under consideration himself for the vice presidential slot. “And not just any woman, she’s a hockey mom.”

McCain gave her another round of compliments, with introductory remarks frequently interrupted by chants of “Sarah.”

The presumptive Republican nominee stressed Palin’s blue-collar roots and her husband’s union membership.

“She knows what it’s like to worry about mortgage payments, and health care and the cost of gasoline and groceries,” said McCain.

And, once again, McCain portrayed Palin as an outsider and a reformer ready to take on the broken politics of Washington.

“She knows where she comes from and she knows who she works for,” said McCain. “She stands up for what’s right and doesn’t let anyone tell her to sit down.”

When Palin took the microphone, the audience greeted almost every line with thundering applause

I have a feeling this energization of the Republican base is going to be very very potent.

As those of you who read my occasional comments before, you know that McCain was the last nominee that the base wanted… and until Obama’s true colors showed many were just going to stay home.

Then Obama comes along and many felt compelled to make the decision to vote for McCain as a move to prevent Obama from winning. I cant tell you how many people on the radio would say things like “I’ll be voting for McCain but i’ll be holding my nose” or have a vomit bag.. or be drunk. etc..

So this creates a hunger to want to won over and pursuaded that the vote isn’t just an anti-vote but a real affirmitive vote.

Many of us didn’t think that McCain was going to have it in him to effectively campaign against Obama… especially when McCain spent the Spring attacking his supporters and not saying anything about Obama at all.

But then McCain surprised his base with the very shrewd move to mock Obama’s celebrity (and fundametally, the brittle man’s ego) and comparing him to Moses.

Those series of ads were masterstrokes (as all the cries of horror from the media testify).

The base thought… him… McCain got some fight in him after all… but still much skepticism remained…

The fire in the belly to want to be won over by McCain got a little hotter… and then the Saddleback Church debate thing happened…the fire burned even hotter… and now like an orgasm, there’s this explosion of enthusiasm that was completely missing.

This has to be the most unpredictable election season in my short life.

gerad: It’s hysterical.

Rush Limbaugh is the ultimate source of that audio.

It’s the condensed “uhs” of the Press Conference he gave during his trip… in Jordan I think.

20% of the entire press conference is him saying uh.

Transcipt of the show where he introduced it:

RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number 26 first, Mike. I didn’t know we’d get to this this early. I asked Cookie to put together a little montage here of all the stuttering around that Obama did in his press conference today and I want you to hear this because — and we didn’t repeat anything here. It goes 46 seconds, and we’re doing this because we hear constantly, “What a great orator and a great communicator! Ohhhh, this man is smooth!” Just listen. This is a great illustration here of what happened when you take the teleprompter and your prepared remarks away from the dude.

OBAMA: Uh, uh, are, uh, uh, uh, um. That’s — that’s a bunch — so — so let me tick these off. Deh… Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, um, uh. So the issue is not a perception that, uh… Weh, weh, let me put it this way. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, We’re — we’re trying to — you know, we’ve got a bipartisan group here and — and — and, uh, uh, uh, uh, um, uh, uh, uh.

RUSH: Now, this is nothing new to me, folks. I have been noticing this throughout the whole campaign, throughout the whole primary campaign. When this guy’s doing a press conference, he’s doing a town meeting, “Uh, ah, uh, ah,” and everybody talked about what a great orator he is. Today it reached the boiling point with me, with all this pap coverage that he’s getting, and all the lies the media telling about this guy and how he’s the prime mover behind all these policy changes over there. I’m watching him stutter around outside at this press conference, speaking so slowly, without any energy.

RUSH: Here’s another bite. This is The Messiah talking about his judgment.

OBAMA: I don’t have doubts about my ability to apply sound judgment to the major national security problems that we face. These are difficult questions, and, you know, I don’t think that anybody believes they have the perfect formula for solving some of these very difficult foreign policy problems, but I feel very confident in my worldview and my ability to — to shape a discussion that takes all arguments and facts into consideration and then come up with the best answer.

RUSH: That is so frightening. I told you yesterday, he’s got no concept of the ideological makeup of these enemies that we have. He thinks everybody’s just got different ideas, and all ideas are good ideas because we put ‘em all in a hopper, shake them up and come up with a consensus. He has no doubts about his ability. “To apply sound judgment to the major national security problems we face, difficult questions. I don’t think anybody believes they have the perfect formula for solving some of these –” oh, they don’t? I thought you did. And I thought the Drive-Bys were putting you up to it. By the way, Cookie just told me that the 46 seconds of montage that we have on Obama stuttering is just part of it. If she did all of them, it would take a three minute bite. I told her to do it. Here’s how it sounds again, ladies and gentlemen. Listen to this.

RUSH: Now, Cookie cut it down to seven-and-a-half minutes, eight minutes is just too long. Seven-and-a-half minutes. We’re not going to be able to squeeze it all in here. I want to hear this myself. What this is, not one repetition of one stutter from Barack’s press conference in Amman, Jordan, this morning. It started about ten o’clock. I watched it, my friends, and I was struck by all of these. You know, the context here is, “He’s such a great orator, such a great communicator! The guy just penetrates you with his oratory and his language.” Now, listen to this.

OBAMA: Uh, uh, I also want to thank, uh, uh, uh, the, uh, this, uh, well, uh, uh, eh –

RUSH: Seven and a half minutes of this.

OBAMA: — uh, uh, uh, you know, uh, uh, uh, uhh, is…? Uh, is of — of their work, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, we, uh, uh, I called, uh, uh, and I’m — I’m — Uh, with, uh, uh, as, uh, that, uh, and uh, uh, um, uh — And we have to do this, uh, uh. As — as well as, eh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh. Well, uh. I, uh, uh, uh, um. We, uh, and, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh. Uh, now, uh, right now and then identify if — if, uh, you want to, uh, uh, uhhhh. Ummmm. That’s — that’s a bunch. Umm, so let me tick these off. Um, it is true that, uh, uh, uh, uhhh, uh, uh. What, uh, uhhh, uh, and, uh, uh, in I-iraq, uh, uh, are seen as, uh — and so, uh, uh, uhhh, uh, uh, and if I was — i-if I were in his shoes, uh, uh, uhh, and so, uh, a, uh, um, uh, from some — someplace else, uh, theeee, uh — and, uh, t’see, uhhh, that, uhhh –

RUSH: Okay, folks, we got a lot more.

OBAMA: — and, uh, t’see, uhhh, that, uhhh –

RUSH: I don’t have time to squeeze it all in here.

OBAMA: — uh, to see, uhhh –

RUSH: We’re going to let it keep running. We’re going to go to a profit center time-out.

OBAMA: Uh.

RUSH: We’re going to let it keep running. It will still be playing when we get back.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The Obama montage of stutters from the press conference today is still rolling, folks.

OBAMA: Uh, oh, uh, aaaand, uh, the way, for example –

RUSH: We have not stopped it.

OBAMA: — uh, eh, eh, uhh, uhhhh, uh, and — and, uh, because it — it — uh, and, uh, on the other hand, uh, I — I — I think that, uh, uhhh, uhhhh, uh, uh, uhhh — and so I think what the United States can do i-is — is — is to, uh, uhhh, uhh, there — there’s been, uh, uh, ah! I am so, uh, uh, uhhh, uhh — that — that — uh, aaaand, uh, uh, uh, uh, eh, that uh, so, uh, uh, and, a-a-and, uh, and that’s what I think is so important. L-l-l-l-let me, um, um. I’ll — Uh, um, um, uh, um, would — would…? Um, uh, um, um, uh. I — I think that, uh, uh, uh, um, uh. With its — And so, um —

RUSH: It’s not going to end in time for the show.

OBAMA: — um, uh –

RUSH: It’s still going to go. It’s still going.

OBAMA: And so, um, uh…

RUSH: It’s going to be going another two minutes.

See you tomorrow, folks. Adios.

I think Rush is a drug addled asshole.

Obama can’t talk without a teleprompter.

Rush is a stopped clock, right twice a day.

More to the point is this comment about PALIN by Obama, noted in the POLITICO article:

“Obviously, she’s a fine mother and an up-and-coming public servant,” Obama said.

She could, and should, say the same thing about Mr. No Executive Experience, herself. ” He’s a fine father and and up-and-coming public servant.”

He’s a fine father
and and up-and-coming public servant.”

who, according to Bill Clinton, has all the political instincts of a
Chicago thug.

You don’t understand! Obama sold himself to the Chicago political mafia. He can not back out now. He will have to be defeated. Obama was a dream come true for them. He was a young idealist that wanted to change the world for the better. He got sucked into the game just to get his foot in the door and now he is fully committed.

Chicago has a long history of political corruption. They gave mobsters such as Al Capone a run for the money. A lot of the old timers were paid off by the mobsters. The only thing that has changed, is that the mobsters are now the politicians. They are embedded like ticks into the skin of Chicago. Research the Daley family tree. This is how many corrupt politicians in Chicago got caught since 1972:

Obama has mastered the art of subtle gender-based put down. “Likeable enough”?

He also refers to Hillary a fine “public servant”. The word “servant” is denigrating and you’d be called a racist if you used the word to describe Obama.

Funny how the Obama boys howl and whine about the ‘dog whistle’ of racism that the Clintons were supposedly using, when Obama is, himself, a master of the art of the dog whistle.

The word ‘mother’ calls up all kinds of associations that are NOT about leadership on a world stage. Slime bucket he is. 100% slime bucket.

Why is everyone praising Obama’s judgment? He was against the Iraq war and look what has happened – maybe the US hasn’t “won” the war but no one could argue that Iraq is better off now than with Sadam Hussein. Moreover in his judgment the surge wouldn’t work – and what happened? The surge DID work. Poor judgment on the part of BHO. In reality he hasn’t shown ANY good judgment in his whole career and his VP nomination proves it, too.

This year has proven educational for me.

I never realized before how many alleged progressives yearned to imitate the worst behaviors of reactionaries, particularly in misogyny.

That may be the first time in my adult life that I was not cynical enough.

Comment by Diana | 2008-08-31 09:54:45

I noticed this in 2006. It was a do anything, say anything to get elected win for them. They still till this day haven’t done one thing they promised to do. I saw what they were doing to Steele. I saw what they were doing to Lieberman. I heard them calling Michael Steele Uncle Tom. Saw them passing out Oreo cookies at his rally. Both racist things.

White Democrats, and it was OK with the media, other Democrats because they were Democrats. Where was Sharpton? Jackson? To condone these things and call them what they were racist acts. Silent. I heard then other’s making excuses for the behavior. It’s just anger and frustration. No it wasn’t. This is why they got away with their behavior this year, and felt they could get away with what they did to Hillary.

It really bothered me then, and I gave a protest vote to re-elect the Governor of CA. I had a lot of friends that were gasping at what was being done. I heard a lot of Democrats privately saying things. We should have stood up then. We didn’t and it was used in 2008 against one of their own. Our candidate.

Until we stand up and say NO this is not acceptable behavior for adults, especially for those we entrust to run this country. It will continue and it will just get worse. They got away with it in 2006. “We can’t do anything for Americans because we’re the minority in office.” Well they’ve been the majority for the past two years and still have done a thing. Now it’s because there is still a Republican President. BS. You got rid of the one candidate that could have made a difference. Fool me once shame on me, try it a second time…shame on YOU!

Because they got away with it then, what reason was there for them not to continue now?

Here’s a trend that is either on its way here.. or already here. Who will defend our culture from this threat… remember this when you vote:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1050917/Revealed-Saudi-women-preaching-hate-British-mosque-promised-clean-act-18-months-ago.html#

BRITIAN: Revealed: Saudi women preaching hate in the British mosque that promised to clean up its act 18 months ago

The Saudi Arabian preachers were secretly filmed ordering women to murder gays and ex-Muslims.

Undercover reporters from Channel 4’s Dispatches recorded the lectures in the women’s section of Regent’s Park Mosque in London.

An unnamed Saudi woman is seen mocking other religions – labelling Christianity ‘vile’ and an ‘abomination’. Another, known as ‘Angelique’, claims Britain is a ‘land of evil’.

The investigators attended lectures for two months at the mosque, which had promised a clean-up after another Dispatches probe just 18 months ago exposed it for spreading extreme Islamic views.

During one sermon, a woman called Um Amira says: ‘He is Muslim, and he gets out of Islam…what are we going to do? We kill him, kill, kill.’

In the programme, to be screened tomorrow, she adds that women adulterers should be stoned to death and people who have sex before marriage should get ‘100 lashes’.

Regent’s Park Mosque is one of the biggest and most prestigious Islamic institutions in the UK. Opened in 1944 by King George VI, it can hold up to 5,000 worshippers.

After the 2007 Dispatches investigation, which also looked at mosques in Birmingham, West Midlands Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) claimed Channel 4 had distorted sermons and tried to press charges.

But watchdog Ofcom dismissed their findings and Channel 4 won six-figure libel damages from the police and CPS.

This time, Dispatches returned to Regent’s Park Mosque to find exactly the same extremist books on sale there and the female preachers spreading radical Wahhabi Islam.

One Saudi woman, who mocks other religions, says: ‘We feel nothing sometimes going past the church. What they say with their tongues is so vile and disgusting, it’s an abomination.’

Another female preacher, Um Saleem, says it ‘breaks her heart’ to see Muslims ‘working in banks, wearing short sleeves…and make-up’.

The man in charge of the mosque, Dr Ahmed Al Dubayan, is Islamic Affairs attaché to the Saudi Embassy. Dispatches claims the mosque has links to the Saudi government, which it accuses of spending billions spreading the Wahhabi message. The Saudi Embassy denied this.

Dr Al Dubayan said he did not know the preachers in the documentary and claimed the mosque ‘does not support or condone extreme views’.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-31 05:38:40

That’s the UK’s issue. They already have FISA on steroids, and then some. If you notice, WE copy THEM–FISA, security cameras everywhere, heavy use of RFID, etc. Big Brother is Watching You.

I’m not afraid of Muslims, or any other faith. Anyone who is, and who tries to “make the point” using an example such as that one you just provided, is off the mark. And DUMB.

That hatemongering “Muslim” bullshit needs to cease. It’s IGNORANT. Plenty of American Muslims are registered Republicans, because they’re small business owners and the GOP is friendlier to them in that regard.

I don’t care for Obama because he’s inexperienced, he’s hubris-laden, he’s not all that bright, his judgment is poor, he can’t think on his feet, and he, and what used to be my party, disrespected two of our strongest political leaders (the ones who actually brought us VICTORY for a rare change) SOLELY to make a “Kumbayah” point. They picked the worst candidate, because he had a certain “look” they thought might energize their young, KoolAid friends.

As Judge Judy says, “Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.” They’ve ignored the will of the people, and they’ve disrespected us, too. THAT’s why I can’t support them with my time volunteering for them, my donations to their candidates, or my vote for the Presidential candidate they’ve tried to shove down my throat. That’s why I’ll change my registration to Independent after all this is said and done. I’ve seen the pile of shit they have on offer, and I know, no matter how long and hard I dig, that there’s no pony in there, anywhere.

Clinton Fan: I understand the normal reaction to such charges is not to believe them due to their gravity.. but the facts are on my side

I recommend this study

SAUDI PUBLICATIONS ON HATE IDEOLOGY INVADE AMERICAN MOSQUES

http://www.freedomhouse.org/uploads/special_report/45.pdf

Excerpts:

Saudi Wahhabism is dominant in many American mosques. Singapore’s main newspaper recently published an interview with Sheik Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, the Lebanese-American chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of America, based in Washington, D.C.: “Back in 1990, arriving for his first Friday prayers in an American mosque in Jersey City, he was shocked to hear Wahhabism being preached. ‘What I heard there, I had never heard in my native Lebanon. I asked myself: Is Wahhabism active in America? So I started my research. Whichever mosque I went to, it was Wahhabi, Wahhabi, Wahhabi, Wahhabi.’”20

The publications in this study, found in some of America’s most important mosques, pose a grave threat to non-Muslims and to the Muslim community itself. They now have become a matter of national security since 15 of the 19 September 11 hijackers were Saudi subjects indoctrinated from young ages in just such Wahhabi ideology, possibly from the very same textbooks and fatwa collections. Saudi state curriculum for many years has taught children to hate “the other” and support jihad, a malleable term that is used by terrorists to describe and justify their atrocities. For example, a book for third-year high school students published by the Saudi Ministry of Education that was collected from the Islamic Center of Oakland in California, teaches students, including even now some American Muslims, to prepare for jihad in the sense of war against Islam’s enemies, and to strive to attain military self-sufficiency: “To be true Muslims, we must prepare and be ready for jihad in Allah’s way. It is the duty of the citizen and the government. The military education is glued to faith and its meaning, and the duty to follow it.”

They picked the worst candidate, because he had a certain “look” they thought might energize their young, KoolAid friends.

TV Media (MS/NBC/CNN) thought that Obambi’s young followers would stick to them. Bad choice when their only strategy was to disrespect women.

Comment by Ferdberfle | 2008-08-31 08:42:40

Those young followers will be bored soon. They aren’t all that in to pseudo-lofty rhetoric–they want to be entertained and Oblahblah will have bored them to death by November.

His expectations of them are naive. SO much for his vaunted judgment.

If Palin is no threat, why are the Obamaniacs foaming at the mouth? She’s more like Annie Oakley than Dan Quayle, and yet they’re taking up air time and ink to denigrate her. They created the PUMAS with their disrespect of Hillary, and now they’re driving disaffected Dems right into the McCain/Palin camp. Voters who are informed enough to figure out that they don’t like Backtrack’s stances can certainly ascertain whether Sarah’s positions are suitable. Some of think there’s more to women’s rights than the freedom to have an abortion!

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-31 05:48:43

They really are being classless, too. To say nothing of sexist in the extreme–the first foray by them that I saw was a lousy photoshop of her head pasted on the body of a woman in a skirt the size of a … well… headband, and a pair of shoes that looked like they came from “Strippers R Us,” or something.

They can’t stay away from that “sexist attack” theme. I’m simply astounded that they have no problem doing that kind of crap, here, now, in the 21st Century… and moreover, that the Obamabot women aren’t piping up about it. Talk about Stockholm Syndrome!

yeah i am kind of surprised at the level and intesnity of the vitriol coming from the pod people and their media and campaign surrogates.

Its clear from the hysteria and the odor in the air that they are shitting in their pants about something.

Perhaps they have done some internal studies and have projections showing that they can’t hold off McCain/Palin long enough to win the election.

Lets not forget these are the guys who had models and forecasts out 6 months from where they were.

When exactly did my party get hijacked by Ken Starr and Ann Coulter??? Because I never got the memo!

I have not seen so much vileness, disrespect towards American principles and pathological frothing at the mouth hatred for the Clintons since the 90’s!

I no longer recognize Obama’s politburo as the Democratic party of FDR, Truman, JFK, Johnson and yes dare I say William Jefferson Clinton!

Are a$$wipes like Brazile, Dean, Pelosi, Fowler et al on Karl Rove’s payroll to destroy the dem party from within???

Comment by kenoshaMarge | 2008-08-31 07:10:21

Maybe if Fowler wasn’t such a cretin who would cheer on a hurricane for political purposes he might see how wrong he is about it being a catastrophe for the Republicans.

Republican convention has to cancel a couple of days of their convention and oh how sad, no Bush, no Cheney to remind citizens of why they loathe Republicans.

With what time is left Sarah Palin and John McCain are the center of attention. They are the ones concerned about the citizens in the hurricane’s path and they don’t have to bite the Bush/Cheney bullet. How is this bad for Republicans Fowler you foul excuse for a human being?

When Moore sent out his email to endorse Barky, I sent him a rather scathing email and unsubscribed forever. My basic point, other than noting what an idiot he was was to point out how he made the movie Sicko to bring attention to the fact that we need Universal Healthcare in America and then he doesn’t back Clinton, who was the only candidate who would have delivered it for America! Looking at the tone and tenor of this election season I’d say Ms. Donna learned quite a bit from Rove.

Well yes, actually. There is a Brazile-Rove connection as she sought him out as a friend and has taken on his philosophy. She has also opined that it might be necessary to “destroy the Democratic party in order to save it.”

So, there ya go.

Comment by wodiej | 2008-08-31 08:06:14

He thinks that’s in one of the 57 states….

There has always been greed and corruption in society especially when power is involved. Many men feel they have to control and will do anything and step on anyone to get it. If a woman is in their way, they think nothing of trashing her and looking down at her-even better.

As for God, I assure you God did no such thing by sending a hurricane to help Democrats with their continued assault on democracy.

The trolls come on here and they never say anything substantial, it’s just a bunch of immature, stupid, mindless shit. I think they have such a pathetic life that this is the only place they have where they can get some attention.

They are all scared shitless because the women that they told to “get over it”…you know the ones who they said they didn’t need their vote?? Well McCain and Palin say they need it. And they’re going to get it.

Hey. I’m sitting down here in Louisiana and hearing that storm surge could literally wipe out the west bank of New Orleans. Katrina took out the east bank and now Gustav could take out the west bank of New Orleans. And this asshole says that Gustav is god’s gift to the dems. What class these guys have. Do they even realize the number of people who have poured their blood, sweat and tears into rebuilding and now face the same thing all over again. Do they even know how real people feel? People who have worked and scraped all of their lives to build a better life for their families. And then to have leaders of a soon to be defunct political party say something as thoughtless and callous as this! Well I only have one thing to say about that: G.. d… the democratic party. I hope that the dems are overwhelmingly defeated in November. Destroy the party! Throw out Dean and the other idiots. These people are just totally out of touch with the real people in this country.

Comment by J Lark | 2008-08-31 08:10:56

If Obaiden loses in Nov., hopefully, Hillary will rebuild the party, but with eyes wide open as to who’s real and who’s just words.

Comment by Kevin | 2008-08-31 08:16:08

McCain is talking about turning the RNC into a telethon to raise money for the Red Cross and other relief agencies, while the democrats are crowing over the timing of Gustav. Yet another reason to despise the democratic facist party

Didn’t one of the Obot trolls say the other day that she/he was “delighted” that Hurricane Gastav might cause the Republicans to postpone their convention? This must be a new Obama talking point that’s been fed to all of their iPods and Blackberries.
I think this video proves what many of us have become painfully aware of—the people we elected to serve us (the American people) only care about serving themselves. I used to believe that this type of thing was more common to Republicans than Democrats. I stand corrected.

Comment by beebop | 2008-08-31 08:42:45

Yeah. The party of the people has morphed into the party of “get those people.” How quaint is that update? Sheesh. You can talk about God on the stump all you like. It all goes back to that lipstick on a pig thing. These people are the old people with guns at a knife fight.

The Democrats have become everything I despised about the Republicans. Is that what they meant by trying to sell me “Change”?

I think Karl Rove should sue them for copyright infringement. Talk about “change you can xerox.”

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-08-31 07:56:56

When one does not think the New Democratic party could fall any lower, it does. This is actually the Obama party now where “party first” is their theme and that is a glimpse of Obama’s change. I prefer McCain’s theme of “Country First”.

Should Obamboozler get elected it will be a rough ride to the bottom. If the American people are dumb enough to elect this clown then I will happily change my status from Independent to Republican. It will take many people to fight the new Obama party.

http://www.faniq.com/blog/Video-Sarah-Palins-Old-Sportscasting-Video-For-KTUUTV-In-Anchorage-Alaska-Blog-11468

To lighten things up a minute, here’s a video of the very young Sarah Heath (Palin) when she was doing the sports news in Alaska. I think she’s going to attract a lot of male voters because (and I say this will all due respect to my fellow men) we can be damn shallow at times. I happen to be married to a woman like Sarah Palin — someone who is strong and gutsy and has all kinds of interests that cross over into “guy” territory, and I feel like I’m the luckiest man alive in that respect. But I think Palin is going to get a heartthrob vote the way Obama did among some women.

The “Maxim” vote…

I agree.

Last week I rented a car with satellite radio. I was having fun trying all the channels, and I landed on Maxim. The guys were talking about choosing a President with respect to how they pick a mechanic…to the effect of, would you take your car to a young good looking guy with a clean modern shop – but no experience fixing cars? Or would you go with the old guy who has a proven record of getting your vehicle running again?

That was before the Palin pick.

I agree with you: McCain for the Maxim CarTalk contingent, and Palin for the Maxim Digs StudBabes group.

brilliant…I was saying the other day Obama missed an opportunity to help others after spending an insane amount of money on his coronation by having attendees bring a canned good etc to help those in need. With 85,000 people, alot could have been collected. Republicans just showed up their sorry asses again.

Comment by beebop | 2008-08-31 08:46:20

I’m sure that the Coliseum will be dismantled, trucked at the campaign’s personal expense and rebuilt on the ashes of New Orleans to inspire its rebirth? The contrast of $5Million for ego versus what the Republicans will accomplish will be stunning. They are trying to make John McCain George Bush. He’s not. What the hurricaine does is perhaps keep Bush in Washington. Is that what the Democrats really wanted.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-08-31 09:39:39

I think the Obamas are going to set the stage up on his vacant lot next to their home and charge admission to raise money to lvie on after his landslide loss in November and then being disbarred in Illinois for lying on his application to the state Bar about having gone by other names in the past! They won’t get enough to live on, of course, but at first they will believe people still love him.

Thanks to the excellent blog RealBarackObama for this great nugget from the Chicago Sun-Times. It looks like the Obama allies in Chicago are changing tactics to acknowledge that Obama knew Ayers very well, but that Bill Ayers is now a mainstream guy. Here’s the Sun-Times op-ed by the Obama ally: http://www.suntimes.com/news/otherviews/1136991,cst-edt-lenz30.article

Here’s the dissection revealing what’s behind this: http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/2008/08/31/diamond-responds-obama-campaign-uses-chicago-sun-times-to-begin-retreat-on-ayers-issue/

Obama is right about one thing — individuals can make a difference, though the thought is not original with him. (His “we are the ones” mantra was stolen from Alice Walker’s book.) Steve Diamond, the person who runs RealBarackObama, Larry Johnson, and the other exposers of Obama are making a difference.

The link below details how McCain and the Republicans are responding to Gustav. The Republicans are busy trying to see what they can do to help during the Convention. The contrast with the Fowler video is stark. The Democrats are not really about hope and change. They are just smug and self-righteous. I still cannot believe the party I was a member of and supported all these years is now so callous.

All the issues the Democratic Party had every stood up for, everything that was ever accomplished, seems to have been swept aside — and now we have Obama and his cult followers leading the pack. It’s very depressing!!! And honestly, I can’t figure out how this could ever have happened?! It shouldn’t have happened! These kids are ANGRY and HATEFILLED and are about to undo everything the party ever stood for! And I really want to cry, I really do!

I’ve never voted Republican! This year I’m voting Republican – and actually I feel good about it! In all honesty – and maybe because I live in a college town – I feel SAFER knowing I’m voting for McCain.

Obama is a bum posted earlier that if Obama was elected President he/she would change their party designation to Republican. Last night, I was thinking the same thing and that’s not something I would ever ever ever would have considered. It’s like the Democratic Party is dead – and everything it has every stood for is dead. And I really want to cry because we’ve fought for so much to try to better the lives of these kids who are so callously and viciously working to destroy it – and don’t even seem to understand what they’re doing or why.

Comment by chris | 2008-08-31 10:10:24

Maybe Mr. Fowler is barking up the wrong tree. While I don’t believe God gets involved in political campaigns, I do think he watches out for all of us and helps balance good and evil. Maybe, just maybe the party that’s helped here will be the Repubs. They can take the lead and they have the opportunity to show how they can lead the country in time of disaster. Bobby Jindal is doing a masterful job and what a contrast between the Dem circus and wasteful blowing of millions on a convention spectacle that lasted a few hours vs the other party rolling up it’s sleeves and helping American citizens in need and rightfully declaring that a political convention is not really that important to most people when there is this kind of situation going on. Taking the active lead in a responsible, caring way, recognizing Katrina mistakes and correcting them and showing a huge contrast between Mac and Bush in the response taken will do much to get people to notice Mac/Palin’s devotion to country first. Who has the chance to show God what the right thing to do is? Guess the Dems lose again. Way to go jackass party. Keep putting your idiots front and center for us all to see and hear.

Back in 2006, James Carville started a petition to get rid of Howard Dean, and it was Don Fowler who fought so hard to keep Dean as head of the DNC.

Then, after Obama broke the DNC rules and campaigned in Florida during this primary, it was Don Fowler’s wife (presently she is State Chair of SC), who made the decision that Obama would not be sanctioned for breaking the rules.

Isn’t it nice to know that Don is the hubby of one of our State Democratic Party chairs with so much power over rules and voters?

The Dem Party should have let Carville do some house-cleaning two years ago.

Does that mean Hillary wants another attack on Americans?

But I thought Hillary was okay now that she supports Obama. Since Obama has asked for her support he must agree with this statement. Right?

Message for TwoTermObama

Not so much fun. Most of us don’t laugh at airplanes flying into buildings and hurricanes drowning our cities whether we are Democrats or Republicans.

All you Obama disciples do is remind us that you can’t put aside you obsession with winning even with the United States facing grave danger. This is not the political faction any voter would wish to have facing a standoff with the “new” militant leadership of Russia.

And I hope New Orleans survives this new hurricane threat; the People are an inspiration to us all. Never give up, never give in, no matter what the odds are against you.

And who can forget this?

On national security McCain wins. We saw how that might play out early in the campaign, when one good scare, one timely reminder of the chaos lurking in the world, probably saved McCain in New Hampshire, a state he had to win to save his candidacy – this according to McCain’s chief strategist, Charlie Black. The assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December was an “unfortunate event,” says Black. “But his knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who’s ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us.” As would, Black concedes with startling candor after we raise the issue, another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. “Certainly it would be a big advantage to him,” says Black.

Bhutto’s assassination should have been a wake-up call to real Democrats. The world is a dangerous place and has to be viewed with open eyes and a clear head.

You, half-pint, and your kool-aide drinking brethren view the world through oblahblah-tinted glasses, i.e., opaque, and are addled by the fluff the false Messiah spews. We don’t need your kind pretending to run this country as though it were a video game.

Comment by candymarl | 2008-08-31 09:06:54

I remember that statement. I believe Black took a lot of heat from McCain for those remarks.

Whatever you think of McCain I don’t believe he would ever wish death or destruction on his fellow Americans.

That said this was a one time remark. Mr. Ayers, who liked to make and set off bombs, feels he and his supporters didn’t go far enough. After all of this time he still has no remorse.

Rasmussen this morning:

There have been significant changes in perception of John McCain in the two days of polling since he named Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. Since then, 49% of Republicans voice a Very Favorable opinion of McCain. That’s up six percentage points from 43% just before the announcement. Also, 64% of unaffiliated voters now give positive reviews to McCain, up ten points since naming his running mate.

There has been little change in perceptions of Obama since his Thursday night speech and the Palin announcement (see trends and other recent demographic observations).

Palin herself made a good first impression and is now viewed favorably by 53% of voters nationwide. Her counterpart, Joe Biden, is viewed favorably by 48%. While Palin has made a good first impression, the more significant numbers will come a week from now after the nation has a chance to learn more about her.

The head-to-head poll shows Obama with a three point lead, the same as before the convention in their poll.

——-

But as the hours pass, the television networks, which have already invested considerable cash in the made-for-TV quadrennial ritual, are becoming increasingly impatient and are pressing party officials to firm up plans.

The networks are stretched thin, in terms of both personnel and equipment, between here and the Gulf region and need to make their own decisions. But Republicans are reluctant to react too quickly under pressure.

“We don’t want to be pushed into a herd mentality by the television media,” said a senior GOP source.

What they(Dems) gave up, tore away from the American people a chance for this country to become something special again. For all Bill’s personal faults, there is no denying his compassion and love for Americans and friends of his. What a shame that we were forced to take an illusion for a Dem candidate for POTUS. I will never vote for the sloppy remains that were dropped on us. Mac and Sarah have the chance to redeem the mistake that was made and I will fully support them. Hopefully, the Dem party will be remade into it’s former self and uphold it’s principles again after they are defeated in Nov.

I guess the public sacrifice thing has to be arranged during the other guy’s national convention …

Sugar … very off topic … Does Bill Clinton not have the most beautiful hands? I love watching him use them to punctuate a discussion. It is like watching a concert master ….

So much harm has been done to the Democratic Brand that if everyone in the party shut up between now and November 4th and just let Thug and Plugs do the talking, they’d still lose in a landslide.

Fowler is just one of many reasons why I’m ashamed to be a Democrat at this point in time. The true face of the Democratic party makes Frankenstein look like Brad Pitt.

This may came off as racist to some, and maybe it is, I dont know … I dont consider myself a racist, but I cant help but think how a bunch of black people having to get evacuated from New Orleans is going to cause the Republicans to not have a real convention. First the black people vote like 99% for the messiah against Hillary, and now they cause the Republicans their convention, and a chance to define BHO to the American people for 4 days. They lose a chance for Sarah to really give a great acceptance speech …. The fact that BHO was able to have a 4 day messiah love fest, and McCain gets nothing is a HUGE advantage for Hussein. Black people have dictated this whole election cycle.

Unlike the DNC, the RNC has realized they need women, African Americans, Hispanics and god forbid, the gays to win this election. They show every intention of turning the Republican Convention from a lovefest for McCain into a lovefest for every victim of a hurricane since the beginning of time. They’re going to be the loving, touchy, feely party if they have anything to say about it.

The hurricane is going to be one more thing for McCain to capitalize on. And like everything else, the DNC has handed it to them since they forgot to include the downtrodden, the discriminated against, the disadvantaged, the sick, etc… in their convention.

If this isn’t seen in the Main stream media then it’s safe to say all that talk about how the press will turn on Barry for McCain….after the convention, was wrong. The lacky Press wants Barry….which means he’s the worse to the two choices be for us.The GOP going negative alone is a problem for McCain. Because Bush had both the GOP and the press pushing him. However it’s lucky for McCain he’s facing the idjit DNC ! lol!

Fowler and Spratt are certainly tickled with their luck of having Hurricane Gustav hit during the RNC convention. Fowler even says it “shows God is on our side.” The DNC knows they’re going to need a lot of luck to win in November with Senator Obama as their candidate. Mr. Fowler admits that when he says everything is cool, unless Gustav decides not to hit the U.S.

Let’s imagine, if Hurricane Gustav had shown up last week, do any of us think the DNC would have changed the focus of their convention? Of course, they would have used it to dump the roll call vote altogether since they were shaking in their boots that Senator Clinton would end up with more delegate votes and insisted she release her delegates. Other than that and comments about how worried they are about the people along the Gulf Coast, the convention would have gone on as planned because all those people in shelters need the Invesco Fiasco to cheer them up.

The RNC on the other hand has decided to change the focus of their convention and are debating on scaling it back, canceling it, postponing it or turning it into a convention to raise money for those who will need help after Hurricane Gustav. Two years ago, I never thought it would be the RNC showing concern for the downtrodden with the DNC full of chuckles that this proves God is on their side.

I think NancyA needs to send the video to the RNC, CNN, Fox, ABC, CBS, 20/20, 60 minutes, etc…

My little crystal ball says the RNC is going to come out of their convention on a high, having shown America they have learned from their mistakes while the DNC ends up looking like the kid who repeats his older siblings’ mistakes, over and over again – never learning right from wrong, just trying to get away with something instead of working for something. I doubt the RNC has learned much from their mistakes other than they’re scared to death that they’ll lose the White House and more seats in Congress and they have to change their image. But at least in their manipulation of their image, a woman will be running for vice president and the RNC will place their convention and the trashing of Senator Obama and the DNC behind the victims of Hurricane Gustav.

The RNC championing the rights of women and showing interest in the downtrodden. The world has turned upside down.

I don’t know if this has been posted yet, but Bush & Cheney are NOT going to the Convention due to the hurricane. That helps McCain too.

We now know the Democratic Party can do worse than Bushco ever did. The Dem Party is infested with people without principles or compassion these days. How else can they all fall in line behind a needy sociopath and pathological liar like BO. There are so many warning signs, and everyone ignored them. It’s not Bush we need saving from. His time is over. It’s the impending disaster of having BO as our leader we must prevent.

God Damn Fowler, Moore and Michelle Obama for politicizing hurricanes. God Damn all of them for hoping the people of Louisiana drown.

EVERYONE- Greta has asked for confirmation that this IS IN FACT Don Fowler:

Is this the former DNC Chair or not?
by Greta Van Susteren
The below video is making its way around the internet in a most viral way…it is said to be — I have no 100 per cent proof — former DNC Chair Don Fowler….and the text is this “the hurricane is going to hit New Orleans (chuckling) about the time they [meaning the Repub Convention] start. the timing at least it appears now that that it will be there Monday. That just demonstrates God is on our side.”

There is lots of ambient plane noise on the tape….if this is NOT DON FOWLER, someone please drop that into the internet in a viral way..it would be grossly unfair to assign him this horrible statement if it is not his.

I am by no means the first to see this — probably one of the last since it has been sent to me many times in the last hours but I have ignored until now when I finally realized that it is all over. If you know Fowler, make him see this so that if it is NOT DON FOWLER, then he can quickly saturate the internet with denials to meet the viral nature of it. The internet is a great research tool but also can be the source of lots of mean rumors…since this video is already all over, and since it is being massively emailed around, let’s make sure Fowler sees it so that he can deny it if in fact this is not Fowler.
