And it makes this whole election so bizarre for me. But I also know that the McCain of 2000 has been replaced by the one who suddenly was pushing the neocon agenda and I don't really know WHAT he believes in. I prefer straight conservatives to Neocon whackjobs but neither will push for the kind of legislation and liberal focus that I believe we need to make a better country. I lived through Reagan/Bush 1 as a young person and those years almost destroyed my working class family. These last 8 years have taken their toll on our country in even worse ways. I don't trust any Republican to get things right unless they completely abandon REpublican ideals -- you can do that in the Senate or like Schwartzenegger does as governor but I don't see it happening as POTUS.
