Poor little republican hater..
Sarah Palin and her family have class!
You don't!
The fact that they have a large family and adhere to their beliefs is noble to me.
Alaskan's believe in large families as they live in remote areas and big families help.
Keep it up though!!
Every time you speak you convert another person to
McCain/Palin 08

You know, the about face on the Republican side is truly a sight to behold.

For years, when women complained about the glass ceiling in Washington, Conservatives called us whining, America Hatin' liberals.

And if we tried to explain that, despite parent's best intentions, teens could get pregnant, we were called degenerates who advocated teen sex. This was largely due to the fact hat we wanted to teach sex Ed to hormonally charged teens in an effort to show them what could happen if they gave in to temptation. You guys acted as if we were trying to teach the karma sutra when the reality is most sex Ed classes are about the reproductive system and how babies are made.

Handy info if you want to prevent teen pregnancy.

We were not advocating teen sex, we were simply stating teen pregnancy is "Life" as Repubs are suddenly saying now in defense of Bristol Palin.

In recent history Fox News anchors trounced Jaime Spears after her pregnancy announcement—and don't get me started on the shameful rhetoric spewed about Fantasia and other young unwed, Mothers who were poor. Instead of celebrating the fact that the girls didn't take the easy way out despite being disadvantaged, Pro-life Conservatives always trashed and ridiculed them.

How many young girls had their reputations torn asunder by self-righteous believers in Family Values when they too had the right to a "Private family matter?"

But I suppose that right is only awarded to Political parents, not poor blacks and whites?

As one church going Mother lamented, "Where was all this grace when my daughter got pregnant?"

It's almost as if Republicans are suddenly discovering sexism exists and that teen mothers are not evil, immoral devil spawn, stuff we have been saying that for years.

In the past, when we started saying the very things you have started to say in defense of Palin's right to be a working mom with a pregnant teen, you launched into speeches about moral decency, the constitution and our forefathers.

Sure, our fore fathers laid the groundwork, but wouldn't they expect us to improve upon the model, not turn a blind eye to the problems we can fix in our beloved country.

This about face just goes to prove what I have always suspected—that the Republicans couldn't live by the lofty moral codes that they tried to force on others. They have now discovered they live in a glass house and want to deflect this fact by saying we are hurting Bristol by own criticisms.

Guys don't be so disingenuous. I would award to Bristol the same compassion I would give to any other pregnant teen as I have done in the past after they were attacked by people like you

Obama's kids aren't being raised by hypocrites like Palin's. She believes in abstinence only.
How's that working for ya Palin?
Hypocrisy, the new Christianity.

God bless them? I'm sorry. God does NOT bless hypocrites. Palin does not support any form of sex education. She touts ABSTINENCE ONLY, even though SHE HERSELF was pregnant when she got married.
She is an over-breeding, warmongering, power-hungry, HYPOCRITE!!
OBAMA 08!!

And for those of you who would call me an angry bitch for my stance— damn right I am angry—I grew up poor and I saw many pregnant teens reduced to tears and suffering at the hands of people who have, all of sudden, become sooooooo understanding!

Hell yes, YES I am angry—I got TRASHED by you jerks for standing up for poor white and black young mothers who should have had the right to protection for a "private family matter" too!

But, I suppose poor people don't deserve the right to privacy or dignity that is awarded to political parents.

These supposed degenerate welfare moms too made the choice NOT to abort, but instead of getting accolades and support from pro-lifers, you attacked and smeared them.

I am PISSED about the girls I held in my arms who were wronged by conservatives who told them they should be ashamed and they were going to hell for having premarital sex.

I am LIVID about how people vilified and persecuted a girl who made the same mistake as Bristol, God loving, down home, All American, Country-loving people like you!

Yes, I am angry—angry that the very things I have been saying for years are now coming out of the mouths of people I have to protect pregnant teen-agers from.

Hyprocirts!

PS—This rant is directed at republicans, not Bristol, who would get the same love and support from me as any other young teen mom. I don't pick and choose like some.

No matter what the GOP says, Liberals aren't scandalized--they are angered by your blatant hypocrisy--how many of you would take off into the streets citing a dip in American Moral Decency of Palin was a Democrat?????

Where are you FAMILY VALUES picket signs and marches now????????

How many of you trashed Britney Spears sister Jaime for being pregnant at sixteen "What kind of mother would let this happen?" You cried into available microphones, blogs and boards--and when someone tried to point out that mistakes in life happens with even good parents, you shouted them down calling them immoral and haters of American values!

And how about Lakeisha of the ghetto who found solace in sex because of how deplorable her life in poverty is—I grew up there so I know what is like and what the despair is like. I am now successful, but I haven't forgotten what it was like to be there, unlike you guys who talk about how easy it is to rise from the ashes when many of you went to school on daddy's dime and don't know anything about what it means to come from nothing.

I made it yes, but many others were trying just as hard and didn't!

No, Lakeisha gets labeled and called names and isn't viewed as a girl who made the choice to have her baby despite being poor.

Think about it! How many times have you pushed FAMILY VALUE mantras down peoples throats--called Mothers shameless and worthless if they had to work even if that same mother made the choice to have her child as opposed to abort despite being poor. No, instead of lifting her up because you were pro-life, you would trash and vilify her.

You guys talked about bringing the stigma back to teen pregnancy, now, all of damned sudden "its life?"

I have been saying that for years and you people acted like I was advocating teen pregnancy. I wasn't! I was saying it was "life"…

I mean--ever day the Dr Laura Schlessinger 's, people that you support, tear women like Palin and her daughter anew one when they call her stupid, man hating show, but now, all of sudden, you understand how MISTAKES HAPPEN???

All I know is the next time I get flack from one of you conservatives for protecting the virtue and reputation of a poor black or poor white working mother who got pregnant young (as I did in the past to your scathing rebukes) and I get your family values, hate filled rhetoric I am going to scream foul so loud the angels in heaven will hear it!

I at least respect conservatives, small group that they are, who have said they don't like Palin for the fact that she wasn't there for her daughter due to "work" and must not have been around to see what she was getting into-- I don't agree with them because I think in today's economy it behooves both parents to work, but at least they have the courage to stick behind the stuff you guys have been spouting and amen-ing for years.

Liberal bias???!!! How about a big convenient 360.

I mean the only thing you know how to do is trash talk when someone make a valid counterpoint -- so I await the vilification, but the reaction will be because you have spent years saying the very opposite of what you are saying now, and now that the spotlight is on your own human fragility (and you now know you can't act self righteous and holier than thou because anyone, no matter how good a parent they are, can make mistakes) now you have been caught with your pants down and shown for the two faced liars you are!

You stand for nothing and your VALUES can be sold to the highest bidder!

And no, I am less than perfect myself, but I was thirty-five and married before I had a child even though I am a low life Liberal.

Also, I acknowledged I am not perfect and pone to mistakes whereas you stone throwers were always able to walk on water --

Didn't realize you lived in a glass house eh?

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first practice to deceive."

This should be the theme to the RNC! Let's just call a spade a spade! Greg, thank GOD for you, one of the handful on this blog that has some common and book sense.

For those that are having trouble understanding my posts, let me break it down for you: I am in no way blaming Sarah Palin for her daughters pregnancy, HOWEVER, I am blaming her for letting her ego throw her family into this world wind! Honestly I could careless about Bristol, her "fiancé" or the baby - I say let them go and get their 15 minutes of fame somewhere else. But to act like Sarah Palin is some kind of "political martyr" for keeping a down syndrome baby or her daughter keeping her baby is asinine -- for those of you that don't understand - STUPID!

She is no more a martyr than any other women around the world that helps out their children in a time of need. But she is however, probably the only one that would let it play out on the biggest stage ever! STOP TRYING TO SPEND THIS!!!!!

This should be the theme to the RNC! Let’s just call a spade a spade!

Honestly I could careless about Bristol, her “fiancé” or the baby – I say let them go and get their 15 minutes of fame somewhere else.
Maybe if Sarah Palin was parenting her children instead of chasing her career her daughter wouldn't have grown up to be a whore.

OMG Wall of Text on the Obama / Palin comparison ...EEEK!...Here, let me help you with a bit of formatting for readability:

Comment by Ida D | 2008-09-02 04:28:35

I am a 46 year old and have a 17 year old daughter, smart and with bright future. She will be graduating and going to college next year. Having a teenager is a challenge, it is never a smooth ride.

You want the best for them and hope that they make the right choice in life. I teach her abstinence and the danger of transmitted desease out there.

I also told her that if she gets pregnant, I will never be ashamed of her and I will love her and the baby. This does not mean that I want her to go out there and get pregnant or have sex. Babies are god gifts to us. I am happy for the Palins.

I am glad that many of you are not judging Sarah Palin because this thing can happen to anyone of us.

------------------------------------------------

SARAH PALIN VS. BARRACK OBAMA
By Gerard Baker

Political experience

Obama: Worked his way to the top by cultivating, pandering to and stroking the most powerful interest groups in the all-pervasive Chicago political machine, ensuring his views were aligned with the power brokers there.

Palin: Worked her way to the top by challenging, attacking and actively undermining the Republican party establishment in her native Alaska. She ran against incumbent Republicans as a candidate willing and able to clean the Augean Stables of her state’s government.

Political Biography

Obama: A classic, if unusually talented, greasy-pole climber. Held a succession of jobs that constitute the standard route to the top in his party’s internal politics: “community organizer”, law professor, state senator.

Palin:A woman with a wide range of interests in a well-variegated life. Held a succession of jobs - sports journalist, commercial fisherwoman, state oil and gas commissioner, before entering local politics. A resume that suggests something other than burning political ambition from the cradle but rather the sort of experience that enables her to understand the concerns of most Americans..

Political history

Obama: Elected to statewide office only after a disastrous first run for a congressional seat and after his Republican opponent was exposed in a sexual scandal. Won seat eventually in contest against a candidate who didn’t even live in the state.

Palin: Elected to statewide office by challenging a long-serving Republican incumbent governor despite intense opposition from the party.

Appeal

Obama: A very attractive speaker whose celebrity has been compared to that of Britney Spears and who sends thrills up Chris Matthews’ leg

Palin: A very attractive woman, much better-looking than Britney Spears who speaks rather well too. She sends thrills up the leg of Rush Limbaugh (and me).

Executive experience

Obama: Makes executive decisions every day that affect the lives of his campaign staff and a vast crowd of traveling journalists

Palin: Makes executive decisions every day that affect the lives of 500,000 people in her state, and that impact crucial issues of national economic interest such as the supply and cost of energy to the United States.

Religious influences

Obama: Regards people who “cling” to religion and guns as “bitter” . Spent 20 years being mentored and led spiritually by a man who proclaimed “God damn America” from his pulpit. Mysteriously, this mentor completely disappeared from public sight about four months ago.

Palin: Head of her high school Fellowship of Christian Athletes and for many years a member of the Assemblies of God congregation whose preachers have never been known to accuse the United States of deliberately spreading the AIDS virus. They remain in full public sight and can be seen every Sunday in churches across Alaska. A proud gun owner who has been known to cling only to the carcasses of dead caribou felled by her own aim.

Record of Bipartisan Achievement

Obama: Speaks movingly of the bipartisanship needed to end the destructive politics of “Red America” and “Blue America”, but votes in the Senate as a down-the-line Democrat, with one of the most liberal voting records in congress.

Palin: Ridiculed by liberals such as John Kerry as a crazed, barely human, Dick Cheney-type conservative but worked wit Democrats in the state legislature to secure landmark anti-corruption legislation.

Former state Rep. Ethan Berkowitz - a Democrat - said. “Gov. Palin has made her name fighting corruption within her own party, and I was honored when she stepped across party lines and asked me to co-author her ethics white paper.”

On Human Life

Obama: Devoutly pro-choice. Voted against a bill in the Illinois state senate that would have required doctors to save the lives of babies who survived abortion procedures. The implication of this position is that babies born prematurely during abortions would be left alone, unnourished and unmedicated, until they died.

Palin: Devoutly pro-life. Exercised the choice proclaimed by liberals to bring to full term a baby that had been diagnosed in utero with Down Syndrome.

Now it’s true there are other crucial differences.

Sen Obama has appeared on Meet The Press every other week for the last four years. He has been the subject of hundreds of adoring articles in papers and newsweeklies and TV shows and has written two Emmy-award winning books.

Gov Palin has never appeared on Meet the Press, never been on the cover of Newsweek. She presumably feels that, as a mother of five children married to a snowmobile champion, who also happens to be the first woman and the youngest person ever to be elected governor of her state, she has not really done enough yet to merit an autobiography.

Then again, I’m willing to bet that if she had authored The Grapes of Wrath, sung like Edith Piaf and composed La Traviata , she still wouldn’t have won an Emmy.

Fortunately, it will be up to the American people and not their self-appointed leaders in Hollywood and New York to determine who really has the better experience to be president.

There you go.

Now my response.

Whats to judge? The palins seem to be very normal down to earth real americans facing many of the same real challanges we all face as americans and families daily.

I hate to break the news to the Obama's but "have you seen the price of arugula" is not what we discuss at our dinner table either.

Sarah Palin may not espouse every view that i do as a no-longer-democrat, but she has conviction, integrity and a down to earth demeaner and honesty that makes me very comfortable with her as McCain's choice.

As a a devout American i will not hand the reigns of this country over to Obama with my vote.

He will have to steal the Election without me.

My votes was for Hillary, but now its for McCain/Palin.
