Remember that southern judge who was running against some client of Rove’s a few years back? The judge’s campaign ran ads showing how much the judge cared about children, with a photo of him walking up a road holding a kid’s hand.
Rove smeared him as a child molestor. He organized, on the cheap, a whispering campaign that originated in a College Republican organization based in the judge’s home state, state university. Rove had all his College Republican pals go home one weekend to spread the rumors. Since his pals were from all over the state, the rumor spread quickly. People love to believe the worst. It was a cheap operation and the judge was destroyed, at least emotionally, and resigned.
Obama’s people are equally vicious.

I believe in the Constitution of the United States as does Governor Palin. The Constitution states that there shall be no religious qualification for public office. Do I need to get you a link for that or are you familiar with the US Constitution.

There is no way most people will believe this. (Even if they did, why would that be such a terrble thing for her to do?)
I think this rumor must be coming from the fact that most people did not know she was pregnant until her 7th month. Now why would she keep her pregnancy quiet? If I found myself in her situation, carrying a baby I knew had a serious, possibly fatal problem, I might not want people getting all excited when I would be scared to death about what might happen. I had a friend whose little girl with Down’s dropped dead because of her serious heart problems, something that can be a result of Down’s. I have worked with a few Down’s kids and the severity of the syndrome varies greatly.

Sullivan IS a homosexual journalist–he is proud of that word association, too, based on the stories he covers; many ARE homosexual-centric. He sees himself as an advocate and a spokesman for that demographic.

He also makes it a point to discuss in detail his HIV positive status and how he is occasionally victimized because of it. My family and my brother who has mental retardation and autism growing up did family activities back in Massachusetts growing up with many families who had Down Syndrome. I have to share an experience I had with my brother years back at aa amusement park. We were waiting in line for the log ride. My brother is very curious and not afraid to ask questions (Andrew Sullivan that is called accepting people for who they are!). He was reading the signage,,,,you know the one that says hwo tall you have to be etc…he asked me what the word gestational meant….I had the patience and answered him. He said okay thank you (Andrew Sullivan that is having manners!), something you know nothing about!
One other funny story about my brother. He worked most of his life. He lives on his own. But about three years ago, he told our oldest sister I am done working. Now he is “retired” and lives on SSI. He was a tax paying citizen of our country for more years than I can count! (Andrew Sullivan is lower than pond scum!)
I would not trade those days of yore (and today) with my brother for a million dollars. He made me a better person, accepting and tolerant of those who are different than I am.
