Here We Go Again

Round Two of the Sexism/Misogyny Palooza, courtesy of the Media and Blogosphere. Great. Just great. Like many of us are not still reeling from the HORRIBLE treatment of Senator Clinton. Yep. Just yesterday, Daily Kos and “journalists” went after Palin primarily because she is a woman, plain and simple. Check out this video(H/T to Roseeriter for a link to Alegre’s Corner which had this video):
Well, golly gee - at least Mike Barnacle is trying to PRETEND like he didn’t say completely assholic things about Senator Clinton when she was running. But, hey, Mike - there’s this little thing called VIDEO!!! If someone actually DOES go back after the past 20 yrs, Mike, you’ll be in there, too. GeekLove caught what you, and others of your ilk, said in this video, which really, says it all.
I think this is exactly what we can expect with Gov. Palin from the media (no, you don’t have to watch the whole thing again - it is an outstanding video, though, and I think will be mighty prescient for the upcoming campaign season. Especially the first part, though. Now, you can just hear all of these so-called “journalists” saying she should be at home with her babies where a woman belongs, dammit!):
And for even more crapola the “journalists” are about to unload is this little story from Stephen Hayes, “The Media Descend To A New Low“:
Time’s Mark Halperin has posted an advance copy of the cover of US Weekly magazine, the tabloid published by Rolling Stone’s Jann Wenner. That cover shows a smiling Sarah Palin, holding her youngest son Trig. The screaming headline: “Babies, Lies and Scandal: John McCain’s Vice President.”Wenner has contributed $5300 to Obama’s campaign since 2007.
The cover was sent to select news organizations by Mark Neschis, the head of corporate communications for Wenner Media and former director of television in the Clinton White House. An email from Neschis that accompanied the cover read: “Thought I would send over our Us Weekly/Sarah Palin cover story, on stands Friday, if helpful in your coverage. Might be useful as an illustration of how the news is playing out. (Us Weekly has 12 million, mostly female readers)”
“How the news is playing out.” That’s an interesting way of putting it. In one sense, it’s accurate. The mainstream media have been focused on pseudo-scandals about McCain’s running mate. Does it really matter at all that Palin’s husband, Todd, had a DUI in 1986? Who cares? And yet I’ve seen and heard news organizations mention — even discuss — the issue several times over the past couple of days.
The “news is playing out” that way because irresponsible journalists publish cover stories promoting “Babies, Lies and Scandal,” without any evidence of an actual “scandal.” Maybe US Weekly will publish news of an actual “scandal” by Friday, when the magazine is scheduled to hit the newsstands. But the three it mentions on its cover are not scandals. (”Under attack, admits daughter, 17, is pregnant” and “Investigated for firing of sister’s ex-husband” and “Mom of Five: New embarrassing surprises.”)
There are legitimate questions about how Palin was vetted. But many news organizations are using the vetting issue as an excuse to make insinuations about Palin’s family and her role as a mother. Instead of asking whether McCain knew that Palin wanted “an exit plan” from Iraq in December of 2006, for example, reporters are obsessing about Bristol Palin’s fiancé and whether Sarah Palin can serve as vice president and be a good mother.
It’s ironic, of course, that the same establishment news organizations consumed by such tabloid issues not long ago refused to investigate reports that John Edwards was having an affair and had a child out of wedlock. Why? The story was originally broken by the National Enquirer and deemed too tawdry to touch. And, perhaps as important, Edwards was running for the Democratic nomination for president, with an agenda favored by the liberal media establishment. (RRRA here - I do not believe the media is “liberal,” given their kid glove treatment of Bush since 2000. I do think they have shown tremendous bias FOR Obama, though.)
Stephen F. Hayes is a senior writer at THE WEEKLY STANDARD.
Holy cow. What in the hell is the MATTER with these people?
But as low as the media has sunk, it is NOTHING compared to this article by Erick Erickson that came out last night: “Democrats Release Sarah Palin’s Social Security Number.” I kid you not. Here it is, along with an update:
The Politico has received an opposition research file from the Alaska Democrats. You can read it in PDF here (the page has moved, and is not available right now).In the file, the Democrats have released Sarah Palin’s social security number minus the last four digits. Also tied to the information are her various home addresses.
Back in 2005, Democrats used Michael Steele’s social security number to get his credit record.
It is atrocious that the Democrats would not only seek out Sarah Palin’s social security number, but release it in opposition research to the press.
We need to know who did this. We also need to know what happened. We also need to know if it was used to bolster the Democrats’ opposition research.
When it happened to Michael Steele, it turns out the Democrats knew about it and did nothing.
They cannot not take action now.
UPDATE:
The Alaska Democratic Party says it did not release the information. From Ben Smith, at the Politico, I got this:
Our story doesn’t say that “Alaska Democrats” gave us that document. It was a document prepared for Tony Knowles two years ago. We haven’t revealed our source.
You should also note that it’s a partially REDACTED social security number. That seems relevant. If less sensational. It’s missing four digits.
Here is the key take away: Yes, the SSN is redacted and people can pay for themselves.
Now, here are additional points:
If the AK-Dems didn’t do this, who did? Obama? The DNC? Who? They’re releasing the whole thing now and letting the media make hay of it.
Why didn’t the SSN get fully redacted?
It’s ironic the party that thinks only Republicans invade privacy, invaded the privacy of Sarah Palin enough to learn her social security number and distribute it to the media.
HOLY SHIT. Could this POSSIBLY be Democrats doing this kind of thing?? Am I really that naive that this has been their MO all this time and I just did not see it? Is this the New Party of which Donna Brazile spoke, one that emulates Chicago Politics on a National Scale?? Like I said before, I am not an apologist for Sarah Palin, and I have voted the Democratic straight-ticket every single time I have voted, and that has been every single time there was an election, but this - this is so wrong on so may levels I am ALMOST speechless about it. Almost. For those who say it isn’t that big of a deal, it would be EASY to get her full social security number - EASY. It wouldn’t even TAKE that long, either. These thugs, these miscreants who would put out this information are the lowest form of pondscum. They need their comeuppance and NOW. The DNC and Obama must speak out on this.
I’m not holding my breath, though. This is now the Democratic Party that steals votes from one candidate to give to another in broad daylight, so why should I think they would feel an OUNCE of shock about this? All it does is show how completely terrified they are of Sarah Palin; how incredibly sexist they are; how much they devalue women (you should SEE all of the stories out about her - many of them focus on how she should take care of her family instead of doing what she’s doing. Funny, I don’t remember these people saying the same thing to Mitt Romney with his huge brood or ANY other MALE candidate, including OBAMA, who has children. Nope - only the women get this kind of detestable punditry.); and how thuggish they have become from top to bottom. It is disturbing beyond belief.
By the way, Senators Clinton, Murray, Cantwell, Boxer, et. al, Rep. Pelosi, et. al, and Governor Gregoire - you need to speak out against this rampant sexism directed at Sarah Palin, and you need to do it NOW. The DNC and the media are taking women back 40 years with these blatant attacks on women. The DNC used to be the party for women. Now, it has become the Party that attacks women - for being women. I never thought I would see this kind of treatment at this point in my life, but unfortunately, I was sadly mistaken. All I can say is I have to hope that when Obama loses this November, there will be a full-fledged housecleaning of the DNC and some of the Congressional Democrats who were the worst offenders this season.
In the meantime, whoever exposed Governor Palin’s SSN, whether it be anyone affiliated with the Demcorats or not, has sunk to a low I never thought possible. The media has sunk to a new low in terms of women. The DNC is going right along with it. And they need to stop. Now. NOW.

I heard it’s much less a percentage that in Qatar. Frankly, nothing to scream about.
I think that is the point.
HELLO NQ PEOPLE
Anyone care to explain why the front page and comments sections here aren’t filled with outrage over Sarah Palin, and Todd Palin’s ANTI AMERICANISM, and UNPATRIOTIC association and support of a separatist organization?
is it because she is a republican now, or because she is white?
I think its because that was debunked.

Alleged right wing troll and faux Democrat
hey don’t let the facts stand in your way.
Just join in the pile-on…it’s fun!
Misogyny is the new black.
No it wasn’t.
There is a video of her addressing the latest convention. Her husband was a member until two weeks before she announced her run for Gov.
Please help me here.
These people don’t have problems with the US they wish to correct, they want out of the country. They want nothing to do with the USA.
Never mind her anti-choice, anti-enviroment, anti-middle class policy positions.
This website is all about National security.
You spent months claiming Obama a: lacked the experience to be President in such dangerous times, and b: wasn’t patriotic enough to be commander in chief.
Now a candidate that is supposed to be ready on day one to jump in should something happen to the President has entered the race with a similar lack of experience and questionable patriotism. This site is mum.
Worse, this site is doing somersaults to spin or ignore these flaws.
What gives?
Oh you mean like Goddamn Amerikka Jeremiah Wright talking about the chickens coming home to roost on September 11, 2001?
Or Michelle Obama “for the first time being proud” of her country because her alternately thuggish and buffoonish husband bullied his way through the caucuses to get a foothold in the Dem primary?
Please, I don’t think you want to start talking about anti-Americanism.
That is exactly what I’m talking about.
What makes you think I am excusing those remarks.
I want to know why this national securtiy centric website is ignoring these ANTI AMERICAN associations.
In their defense though. Neither of the two examples were as extreme as wanting to create their own country.
Not a single article on this site about the National security implications of Alaska leaving the union.
Is this site saying Alaska doesn’t provide any National security interests?
What about Russia, Oil, the Environment?
You are a liar. This was debunked days ago. Ask your botmaster for a new assignment. This one is DOA.
Her husband was a member and she, at the very least, gave a sympathetic video speech to their convention. What is the lie?
A sympathetic speech does not a supporter make. That is the lie.
Hey Peg, I hear Jimmy Wolcott from VF is available.
You two ought to get together…you both sound like you need a little L-O-V-E.
A sympathetic speech does not a supporter make, but since Obama was on the same board as Ayers he must be a terrorist. I think you are finally coming around to seeing how silly these attacks on Obama are.
OK let me break it down for you.
Pay attention now:
Governor Palin’s life story demonstrates that she is nothing if not a very ambitious and accomplished young woman.
She lobbied for the Veep slot.
Do you think a woman of her stature has as a life goal the Presidency of -
Alaska?
The Alaska Independence Party made it very clear that one of their goals is to infiltrate the other two parties. Maybe she is a mole. This makes about as much sense as the rantings about Wright or Ayers. Why don’t we agree that the Obamas don’t hate American and Palin does not want Alaska independence.
No I don’t agree with you at all that the Obamas don’t hate America.
Senator Princess couldn’t even be bothered to put his hand over his heart when they were reciting the Pledge of Allegiance:
(famous pic of Hillary, Richardson, Senator Prom Queen and another guy).
Because the first is unsubstantiated and the second is true.
They were listening to the national anthem.
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2007/11/obama_nabbed_by_the_patriotic.html
Sorry, the sum total of Obama’s questionable associations, the fact that he is a protege of Bill Ayers, the guy who is proud of his anti-American terrorism…none of that is washed away by one STAGED photo of the Great Pretender with his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
No hand over heart
10/20/2007
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. — United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171
Why isn’t Hillary facing the flag. She must hate America too. Is this really what you are basing your vote on?
He STILL should have had his hand over his heart. Gestures such as those have meaning, probably more than you are capable of understanding. That’s OK, we’ll teach you a well-deserved lesson in November.
Then why isn’t Hillary facing the flag? You seem pretty capricious in deciding which gestures have meaning.
Perhaps she was distracted by something at that moment. That is a different issue entirely. You need better talking points.
Support your claim by linking the video.
You keep repeating a video of her “sympathizer speech” exists — where is it?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwvPNXYrIyI
And your point is? That’s your problem. There’s nothing there.
She gave a welcoming speech to a bunch of conventioneers as Governor and Barack spent from 1995 to 2001 cozy with Ayers and the Annenberg Challenge.
Here’s a quote from Barack Obama, June 7, 2006
What is the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act of 2005 you ask…
Sounds like Obama is in favor of Native Hawaiians seceding!
“Please help me here.”
You are beyond help — your pod should have been burned before you hatched.
Obviously, they changed their mind about it. Otherwise, why would her son be serving in the military?
Gee …. maybe because
a) It was her husband, and not Gov. Palin.
b) It was a long time ago
c) It was a “separatist” organization that purused that aim peacefully, unlike the Weather Underground, whose members killed security officers and set off bombs in an attempt to incite “revolution” and whose senior members still pal around with certain presidential candidates to this very day.
No get lost, toad.
2002 is not a long time ago.
She sent a video address this year supporting “their important work”.
Isn’t Michelle a spouse?
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=940CE3DB153CF936A25753C1A962958260
Fingerprint tests show that human remains found in a gravel pit east of Fairbanks on Wednesday are those of Joe Vogler, the founder of the Alaskan Independence Party, who vanished in May 1993, Alaska state troopers said today.
The discovery of the remains, following an anonymous tip to the authorities, apparently resolves a year-and-a-half-old mystery concerning Mr. Vogler, a folk hero throughout the state who was 80 when he disappeared from his home here.
The blue tarp and duct tape in which the remains were wrapped, officials said, matched a description given by a convicted thief, Manfred West, who confessed last summer that he had killed Mr. Vogler in a plastic-explosives sale gone bad and had then buried him.
You still haven’t explained what Obamboozler’s 20 year relationships with terrorists, anit-American and racist preachers, and numerous other radicals. Until you can do that shut your whiny ass up.
I think he has explained his church just fine. Did you see his Philadelphia speech? he did not have a 20 year relationship with terrorist any more than Sarah Palin did. It looks like only one of us is whining.
Peggy. Go away. We already know how we feel about the BLT and all of his hate filled preachers. BTW, will you be giving up your 401k to Minister Farrakhan? Or are you on the side of receiving the pay out? We know how we feel about the terrorist Ayers. He’s a traitor who should be in prison. If he keeps it up, he may make it yet. He hasn’t discounted going back to his old ways.
You are merely here to disrupt. You have no credit here.
“Isn’t Michelle a spouse?”
A spouse of a pig, but pigs flock together.
Pig! That is quite sexist.
Your lies don’t work on adults, not.
“no”t should read “bot”.
What lies?
The lies you spew whenever your fingers go to the keyboard, obamabot.
You are an idiot deluxe.
An insult, but no argument.
You aren’t here arguing, bot. Argument consist of a series of sentences, logically constructed, to prove a point. All your posts represent nothing more than gainsay.
You get your little obamabot PowerPoint presentation at brownshirt camp along with your little checklists of the talking points you need to make. You then take those points to every blog that isn’t bowing to Oblahblah and you post them, each in the order they appear on the checklist. When you get your well-deserved flak for being a goose-stepper, you post them again, ad nauseum.
But alas, you never get any converts but you do get your full measure of derision.
Now go away you paid troll.
Ferd, since you are such a patriot, I hope President Obama can count on your full support once he is sworn in. Country first.
You already got the Pig as president, have you thugs taken over the country where elections and freedom no longer exist?
Country first? With Obamboozler and his spiritual advisor it is country last.
Obama is an insult and has no argument for president.
Correction: Afghanistan has a higher percentage of female lawmakers than the United States.
that is truly sad.
In all fairness, though, it may have something to do with many of their men dying in combat. Golda Meir came to power in Israel, because she was there when the first foundation was set and became involved in the politics at an early stage, because there weren’t a lot of men around to compete for the job, and because she was an amazing and tough woman.
Just curious. Did any of these women have children?
Obama and crowd are in full attack mode to get away from his own vetting that is sorely lacking and needing. I think one reason for him sucking up to O’Reilly and F-I-N-A-L-L-Y going on his show. But it’s a matter of have to. Wasn’t O’Reilly supposed to start fully vetting Obama the 8th of this month? So much for that.
And of course, Obama is going on O’Reilly on the night McCain accepts HIS nomination. He is either trying to take away McCain’s moment, or he is hoping noone will be watching O’Reilly during the Republican Convention. At least McCain had the class to stay out of the spotlight during Obama’s convention week. And I’m sure that during his private meeting with Fox, he gave a list of “untouchables”. Bastard.
McCain also debunked rumors that he was going to announce his VP during Obama’s speech. It’s a fair guess that the rumor didn’t come from his camp.
yep, O’Reilly said a couple of weeks ago that he would have 25 segments, 3 a week up until the election on Obama. Guess Obama got worried about what would be said.
This will make you smile a little

Margaret Chase Smith, of Maine, becomes the first woman nominated for president of the United States by a major political party, at the Republican National Convention in San Francisco
1984
Geraldine Ferraro is the first woman to run for vice-president on a major party ticket.
2008 Hillary Clinton wins the New Hampshire Democratic presidential primary, becoming the first woman in U.S. history to win a presidential primary contest.
Sarah Palin, governor of Alasa, becomes the first woman to run for vice president on the Republican ticket.
I wish that there were some good strong women policians of both parties or Politicains from abroad who would sit down with Palin and be a support group. Was the sexism THIS bad with Ferraro?

GOP Women Call Palin Critics Sexist
Posted by BLAKE DVORAK
ST. PAUL — Top Republican women held a fiery press conference today to denounce what they consider to be sexist smears from the Obama campaign and the media against Gov. Sarah Palin.
“We want to call attention to the outrageous smear campaign against Sarah Palin,” said former Mass. Gov. Jane Swift. “With her years of executive experience and legislative accomplishments, she is more experienced than Sen. Barack Obama” to become president.
“Gov. Palin’s experience is in running a state,” added Swift. “Barack Obama’s experience, as he himself has said, is in running a campaign.”
Joining Swift in her denunciations were senior McCain aide Carly Fiorina, Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, former U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marin and Renee Amore, Deputy Chairman of the Pennsylvania Republican Party.
“The Republican Party will not stand by while Gov. Palin is subjected to sexist attacks,” said Fiorina, who explained that all the women on stage had experienced sexism in their careers. “I don’t believe American women are going to stand for it either.”
Palin critics have questioned whether it’s wise for the Alaskan governor to seek the vice presidency while she has a baby with Down Syndrome. A charge to which Marin said: “No one has asked Barack Obama [this question] when he has two children at home.”
“I am outraged; I am insulted; I am offended,” said Marin. Directing her anger toward liberal bloggers who have questioned the maternity of Palin’s youngest daughter, Trig, Marin said, “Shame on them.”
Blackburn answered critics who have also pointed to Palin’s 20 months as governor as less experience than Obama’s years in the Senate.
“It is quite interesting that Gov. Palin has managed the state of Alaska with 24,000 employees and a $10 billion budget,” said Blackburn. “How many men have done that?”
Amore was more direct. Referring to the media, she said, “You never talk about that Barack Obama hasn’t run anything.”
“These smears are meant to distract from the fact that Gov. Palin has more experience than Barack Obama,” said Amore. She then issued a humorous, if also serious, challenge: “Let me use some ebonics … We will get with you, if you keep messing with us.”
Word is, that the ArcXIX poster at Daily Kos has been traced back to a website owned by David Axelrod.
Pushed on Kos, picked up by Andrew Sullivan and other “journalists,” slipped right into mainstream media.
And yet, the same people couldn’t bring themselves to mention what they knew about John Edwards.
NOTHING would surprise me from these Chicago hacks.
Remember how divorce records somehow got “unsealed” during Obama’s Chicago campaigns?
And the 4-page “racism” memo slipped to Keith Olbermann and others?
WOW - that is outstanding! Good for them for not sitting silently by while Gov. Palin was being attacked in a sexist and demaning manner. THat is far, far more than the Democrats EVER did for Senator Clinton. The only one I can even think of who really went all out for her was Geraldine Ferraro, and we know how THAT turned out (labeled a racist).
And to those people above who keep insisting Palin is Anti-American, perhaps you need to go read SusanUnPC’s piece on how deeply she had to dig to get to the TRUTH regarding attacks on Palin by the media. As it turned out, they were based on distorted “facts.” It sounds like more of the same in terms of the anti-American stuff. If you have a link from a REPUTABLE site, show it. Otherwise, focus, people.
Does this sound familiar?
Taken from by Ray Hanania’s “Forgive but Never Forget” 1999, about the 1979 campaign between Jane Byrne and Mayer Michael Bilandic.
But Jane Byrne took nothing for granted. And she was courageous in her campaigning.
She frequently came to City Hall, hoping to create headlines by confronting Bilandic. His deputy chief bodyguard, Mike Marano, was on alert for her presence, and the few times she slipped past his net and got close to the Mayor, Marano shoved her aside forcefully, warning her that she might get arrested.
It was Bilandic administration arrogance that gave way to meanness on the part of his supporters.
At a 38th Ward rally for Bilandic, that Byrne was not invited to attend, Precinct Spokesman Dick Valentino, introduced the missing Byrne as “mayoral candidate and three martini ding-a-ling.” Valentino was set to become the city’s new Revenue Director with a fat $10,000 pay hike under Bilandic after the election.
Valentino, like many others, was mighty arrogant and fearless in pushing around this little lady who tried to make headlines.
Maybe that’s why many reporters, like myself, started to feel sorry for her.
We can only hope there are some Ray Hananias out there today.
Failure to do so will have seriou down ticket consequences. I am watching sex scandels in Cuyahoga County. Guess whether it is male or female elected officials in trouble?
It is stupefying that they haven’t stepped up and said something…hell, anything.
I don’t believe Hillary needs to speak out at this time. After all, she lead the way this year and it opened my eyes to what was happening in the Democratic primaries. She suffered so the rest of us could understand. Obviously, some people refuse to see what is right in front of them.
It is the duty of the Republican Party, first and foremost, to defend Sarah Palin. She is the party’s VP nominee and it behooves us to put up or shut up.
Second, if you’re an American outraged by this—stand up, speak up, or be silenced.
My biggest concerns regarding Obama at the beginning of the year were his racial views. I believed he would set us back a hundred years or more regarding race relations. Instead of celebrating his bi-racial birth, he has ‘renounced’ being part white. In my belief, bi-racial children will be the future of this country. It will show that Americans are way beyond the racial temper tantrums and refuse to be boxed in when it comes to love and children.
As I believed, he has done more harm than good in the race department.
With the sexism by his campaign or at least his surrogates, he is again raising major concerns regarding women. We may not agree with his mother, but during a time in America where bi-racial children would not be accepted—his mother brought him into this world.
As a mother of two boys, I’m concerned about how the media is handling this situation. There are future generations that are being saturated with sexism on a national scale. This could be a good thing, but I’m not optimistic at this point. They need to know what women have been up against.
Sarah’s rise to the VP would show future generations, male and female, that we’re more than just someone that feeds, cleans, works, and delivers the next generation. We can also run the country. After Sarah becomes VP, one down and one to go.
I know many Hillary supporters will see her VP as bittersweet, but the glass ceiling needs to be shattered once and for all. Nancy Pelosi, Condolezza Rice, and others didn’t have to fight like hell to reach 18 million voters. Hillary did.
I do not like the opinions of the Obots that frequent here, but they add a reminder that if we want to achieve something in this country—we’re going to have to fight like hell.
I’m going to watch Sarah tonight and pray she delivers for all of our sakes. Not because she’s a woman, but because she represents a lot of us. We’re the “regular” people of America that elitists hate. Yet, it us that votes these sorry people into office.
When we say “enough is enough”, then true change we can all believe in will have been achieved. This doesn’t require party affiliations or philosophical doctrines, but the American people rising above the rhetoric.
I am only one person, but that is my belief.
I disagree that Hillary does not need to speak up in defense of Sarah Palin - and I believe she will. ALL WOMEN should speak up in defense of Palin as relates to these sexist and otherwise personal attacks. The attacks against her are attacks against ALL WOMEN!
that’s right. If you see a stranger being attack physically, you’d help…why not stand up for the verbal attacks too.
I guess I see this completely different.
For years, my party has claimed we’re not beholden to pandering because we’re strong enough to stand united.
Well, the Republican Party is pretty darn united behind Sarah. It is time for us to put that into action.
I also believe Hillary is in a very tough position.
I will respectfully disagree. She brought the fight to the very core of the people pulling the same crap.
Yes, if women are outraged–stand up. However, Hillary did everything she could and still won 18 million voters.
She woke the Republican Party up.
It is time for us to put up or shut up.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Republican Party has been awakened on feminist issues. My guess is that defending Hillary and Palin are simply callous political conveniences for the GOP.
The Republicans got plenty of sexist hits in on Hillary in the beginning when they thought she was the inevitable nominee. They only became “feminists” when Obama emerged as the strongest threat.
Both parties are guilty of disgusting political behavior. I’m not so gullible as to believe Republicans have suddenly “seen the light” on their misogynistic ways. What they HAVE seen is that feminism works for them in this particular situation.
The fact that you see no reason for Hillary to speak out on the sexist treatment of Sarah Palin is telling. What the Republican Party does or does not do has nothing to do with Hillary’s obligations as a role model and leader of women. Her silence on the sexist mistreatment of Palin would speak volumes - and none of it good.
I like Sarah Palin and disagree with her on just about every social issue. I like her fiscal and some energy policies and her devotion to ending corruption in government.
I will be voting for McCain and Palin as a strategic move to defeat Barack Obama and clear the way for Hillary to become President in 2012.
I think Hillary should speak out against the very behavior that resulted in her loss. I understand party loyalty, I understand she is in a tough position, whereas if she wants to run in 2012, she better keep still. But I also believe that there comes a time when party loyalty or keeping the peace so one can stay in good graces with those in a position to help (DNC)needs to be cast aside for something even more important and that is the sexism that is running rampant. If it is not now addressed consistently each and every time it happens, then Hillary’s chance of it happening to her a second time is a reality. I say each and every one of us, regardless of party preference should be in the faces of MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, any print mags, newspapers, etc who continue to bash women. We’re not just talking about an election here, we are talking about the mindset and mentality that women are somehow less than a first class citizen. We have got to send the message that this type of behavior is unacceptable, will not be tolerated and will end up being costly to those engaging in it. I am one person, I may only be able to do a little, but it is a mistake to do nothing. I can come in here and complain or I can do something, send emails, notify sponsors I will no longer purchase their products, etc. I choose to do something.
I am a big supporter of Hillary but you know what there comes a time when everything is just not about party, you have to take a stand especially when you see something going wrong.
That was Hillary;s biggest mistake in this she was thinking too much about what will happen to the party when the dam party did not care what happened or what Obama did to her.
Now look at her another woman is given the chance to make history something Obama took away from Hillary and what does she do she ignores that and is begging people to put him in office for what??
Maybe she hope he will give her some token gesture of kindness and reward her with an important post so in the meantime she will play along, well I have news for some if Obama wins this election she will get nothing from him, he wont need her its as simple as that.
What is happening to Palin is coming from the Obama’s election machine we all know that, maybe we cant prove it but we know where it is coming from and I am very sure Hillary knows that also but wont admit it, so I cannot admire that, I cannot admire anyone sitting there looking on at this family being drag through the mud and prefers to remain silent for political expediency, nope Hillary needs to take a page from Gerry Ferrero at least she is not afraid to mention when something is not right and stand by it, she is still a democrat but what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong.
So how come Hillary is not saying a word?? What she is so worried that Obama may get upset with her standing up for Palin that she has gone into her nutshell until the election is over……may Hillary disappoints me.
SJ -
Me too. Hillary should put integrity over her possible future status in the DNC. She should have left that corrupt party 8 months ago, but even now, right is right. Hillary should already have taken a stand against it - if she doesn’t, then she herself is acting as an enabler.
Their silence is truly deafening. Disgusting. You’d think Hillary would actually care about this maltreatment of another woman. It just goes to show you how Obama is running the Obamacratic party with an iron fist.
Let’s put them out on their collective asses on Nov. 4th!!!
Sean Hannity says that Obama met with FOX News execs 3 months ago, tried to shape the coverage of the election and compared Hannity to Olbermann:
http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.php?t=27410
Obama just called Olbermann a goofball, in effect.
Rudy Giuliani rips Obama, media over Palin treatment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do33BWtkp5g
Wow! Go Rudy! Great clips Paul–thanks!
Newt Gingrich also ripped some floor reporter for NBC a new one last night after the guy tried to make an issue of Palin’s inexperience. Gingrich laid into the guy for “bringing up this baloney” and brilliantly laid out just how much more actual executive experience Palin has than Barack Obama.
Yep, that clip is right here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGJnKl8HTBo
Newt CRUSHED Ron Allen, MSNBC, and Obama.
Thanks for that link on Fox News.
and what do republicans really think of Sarah Palin?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrG8w4bb3kg
Clever, they truly believe the ‘it’s over’ mantra they used against Hillary will wrok again. Well it is over in November and not a moment sooner. McCain is NOT going to back down because MSNBC wants him to.
Just watch Sarah’s speech tonight.
Not only did republicans have a hot mike moment- check out the E-Bay CEO Meg Whitman (who McCain also praises) on Fox News! She says Palin coverage has been FAIR!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRxVT1fS8DU
Do you think the coverage of Palin’s minor-aged daughter has been fair? She is seventeen. Not even an adult. Or how about the coverage of Governor Palin’s baby who has Downs-Syndrome? Do you think the coverage of that infant has been fair?
Ass. Don’t you see what they are doing? They go after her family when there is nothing on her.
You are despicable. Worse than Obama, even.
I would have to agree. Strange that the idiot who posted that video didn’t let the full sentence play out. I wonder if Meg Whitman was about to say it is not fair to bring up whether a woman candidate’s child is her own, or to judge her pregnant teenage daughter or accuse her of endangering a life - suddenly it’s a life in the uterus! - by delivering a 30 minute speech and flying back to her doctor.
But you know, Meg Whitman is the entrepreneur behind ebay who McCain said he would rely on for economic advice. Why is she being asked about the role of women in politics?
What media outlet brought that up? Is it fair to put out a story about Michelle Obama and a whitey video? Is it fair to talk about how Obama kept his children from his grandmother? Is it fair to talk about Obama not going to his mother’s funeral? Is it fair to talk about his mother’s marriages? You people really have a double standard. If you think family should be left out, then they should be left out for everyone.
I’m stunned!
I used to think Glenn Beck was one of the biggest azzholes ever, well he must have turned a new leaf.
I just watched Glenn Beck on CNN rip the media a new azzhole, in particular US magazine , owned and controlled by Obambi according to Glenn. He also mentioned that ANYBODY that has anything to say about Obambi will get slammed by the media because the media is doing the dirty work for Obambi.
I’m still stunned, wow!
Glen Beck is still Glen Beck. He has not changed. If this was Hillary he would join the sport. But it is his gal this time around.
I agree. Glenn Beck is an idiot. Always has been.
yep
it’s a MEDIA free for all!!!
they’re all on their OWN and each ONE is in their own version of DUCK SOUP!!
LOLOL!
We have turned GOTCHA politics ON the MSM
they are NOW
what they have feared most
becoming irrelevant and unpopular
bravo John
picking Palin was admirable
I see what is going on now. The media set Obama up. They let his campaign make all these baseless attacks, and now they have enough ammo, they are turning around on him 360. Notice they tie the Kos “sleezy” website with “demeaning, destroying” their opponents with Obama.
I think the news just made the case to bring out all the nasty obama shit now.
I think in their zeal to help Obama, they will end up hurting him. The American public can relate much better with Sarah Palin than they can with someone who hangs around with racists, American haters, and domestic terrorists. The MSM has gone overboard in their outrageous attemots at personal destruction of Sarah Palin, and there will be a backlash from the public against the MSM and its media candidate.
racists, and America haters… so i guess they won’t like Palin either.
is that like the kid version of “I know you are but what am I” You know you guys comments used to upset me greatly, but after that one I am like *stare*. I really feel sorry for you.
Well, lessee:
1. She’s married to a Native American–Todd Palin is an Inuit, I believe. So much for racism.
2. As for her alleged hatred of America, care to give us an example?
3. How about domestic terrorism. I notice you ignored that one completely…
PUMA!
one of my brothers lives in Oregon and is as liberal as liberal can be. He is disgusted by the coverage of Palin by the media. At the end of the day, he couldn’t give a rat’s ass if her daughter is 17 and on her 3rd child, he wants to know who’s going to fix the gas prices and who’s going to take care of our economy. Couldn’t agree more. The more the media obsesses negatively on Palin, the more the public will be turned off by the liberal side.
That’s a great point. Once the nasty Republican 527 ads start hitting the airwaves, the Obama people won’t have ANY room to whine about “dirty campaign tactics”.
Rabble Rouser this is a great report. It saddens me to read it. What is happening to Sarah Palin and her family should not happen to anyone. It is shocking. I have been saying since the primary that sexism was more prevelant and more tolerated in American than racism. And you can you see exactly the blantant eaw sexism now with the attacks against Palin.
How do we reighn in Obama? How do we reign in the MSM. How do we stop it?
Obama says McCain is going for personality and avoiding the issues.
Much like he did in refusing to debate Clinton or McCain head on?
He needs John Edwards to suck more air time out of the next debate? Can ACORN get him on payroll again?
I know. The hypocrisy is palatable and unbearable.
.Palin’s pregnancies and births vs Obama’s COLB
.Palin’s prenatal care vs No Obama medical records
.Palin’s passport vs Obama’s Pakistan visit
.Palin’s husband’s DUI vs Obama’s Alcoholic Father
.Palin’s daughters’ pregnancy vs Obama’s unwed underage mother
.Palin’s vetting vs Obama’s zero vetting
.Palins pro life vs Obama’s radical abortion and
infanticide stance
.Dem party of women’s right vs Republicans nominating one
.VP more important because of McCain’s age vs Obama having recieved death threats
.McCain making campaign about personality vs Obama’s fake fainter ‘rock conert’ speeches
.Palin’s experience (VP candidate) vs Obama’s (Pres. candidate)
You would think all of these issues would serve as reminders of Obama’s shortcomings..if only someone with a microphone would notice.
When they ask Palin about her foreign policy experience, she has to say that she has 300 foreign policy advisors. Isn’t this what Obama did — hired 300 foreign policy advisors?
Palin’s husand’s DUI vs. Obama’s coke habit?
Coke, it’s the real thing(tm).
watching that YouTube re the sexism against Hillary yet another time, I am more angry than ever.
Dean and Obama said virtually nothing against the sexism.
now they will pay.
Lifelong boomer Democrat - I’m now a Republican!
I just couldn’t reward the Dem Party for their Nazi tactics during the primary.
And besides that - their spokeswoman said they didn’t need me anyway.
Dems for McCain/Palin!
eaw in my post above should be raw.
I read a joke that said in order to stop the media focus on Sarah Palin’s teenage pregnant daughter, McCain should start the rumor that John Edwards is the father of the baby.
LMAO!
Palin family compared to:
The Kennedy families; FDR family; Winston Churchill’s family; Rockefeller families; the R. Reagan family; Edwards family; Clinton family; J. Carter family (remember Billy); G. Ford and Betty; the Nixons; Ike and Mamie; Bush 1 and Bush 2; the Obama family—is dysfunction a qualification for public office? Out of all of these families who would you vote to be the most dysfunctional?
The Kenyan orphan with identity issues perhaps?
And again,
Not a VP family on the list.
The scrutiny here is unprecedented.
sorry
i guess the clinton’s qualify too
Campbell Brown looked gleeful yesterday during an interview with a McCain spokesperson about “babygate.” It was the kind of look you see on the face of someone you thought was a friend who happens to be screwing your boyfriend behind your back. This is so unprofessional and so NOT about true journalism.
Don’t hold your breath for Nancy Pelosi or Donna Brazile, our mouthpieces for the new Hester Prynne Party, to speak up in defense of women. They’re too busy starching and ironing their burqas.
Was that the Campbell Brown piece that led to McCain cancelling his appearance on Larry King Live? I have to say, in regard to some of the comments above (and thanks for the compliments), that McCain IS standing up for Palin. He is abolutely not taking any crap at all abt her. To cancel a primetime appearance on CNN because one of their anchors was inappropriate to his running mate speaks VOLUMES abt him.
Hey, Republican Chick - I was wondering what you thought of the Palin pick? I saw a bit of a roundatable on C-Span yesterday in which the Republicans were talking abt her and women in general. There were two Representatives there, and even the moderate pro-choice one said she was excited by her. What do you think?
Amy:
Thank you for the article. I wonder if Mike is changing his tune because he’s on Joe’s show. Hmmm…
As for Palin, I cried when word came out she was the VP choice. I wanted her to be the choice and my dream came true.
In the Republican Party, you only tend to hear the loudmouth pro-lifers (myself included), but there are a lot of pro-choice Republicans. We may not agree with each other’s positions on certain things, but Republicans will stick together. Bob Dole/Jack Kemp ticket should be proof of that disaster.
We’re all excited in the Republican Party. We’re ready to defend her and see her into the VP residency.
Again, we need to thank Obama. His treatment of Hillary gave us all a pretty good indication of what was in store for Palin.
Yet, I’m not concerned about Palin. The 527s are going to unleash real soon. Obama’s worst nightmare will be realized and you’ll see the MSM whine about the “unfair tactics” of Republicans.
Obama will then understand what happens when rank amateurs try to play with the people that the wrote the playbook—good and bad.
I usually hate the elections for this reason, but I believe I’m going to enjoy the onslaught headed towards the Obama Nation.
we’ll help you defend her.
Like Vinnie says - We will help you. I have pointed out similarities to 3 Hillary supporters today who are leaning Obama or are undecided. Thank you for putting this squarely where it belongs - right at Obama’s feet.
I hope the 527’s give me a jolt!
Hey Amy,
I think you’re talking about the interview she did with Tucker Bounds about whether or not Palin had ever deployed the Alaskan National Guard.
Bounds seemed not to know and kept hesitantly answering around the question. Brown joyously assumed he was covering up that Palin had never deployed the Guard (which mistakenly led Brown to believe that Palin was unable to claim any “military command” experience).
The “pulled interview” was shown about 11 PM last night on CNN and Brown admitted that someone had actually performed journalist duties after the fact and called the Alaskan National Guard. They learned that Palin had indeed deployed the Guard for fighting forest fires on many occasions.
In the 11 PM segment, Brown missed the whole point that she was so eager to diss Palin in the “pulled interview” that she inappropriately attacked Bounds when he didn’t answer yes - and left her viewers believing he was covering up for Palin’s lack of experience.
The fact that she was WRONG ABOUT IT flew right over her head in the 11 PM segment. Instead she, Blitzer, King and Cooper proceeded to yuck it up about how she went after Bounds and how flustered he was (repeatedly reassuring themselves that she was within journalistic limits). The segment went on for 15 minutes as the group proceeded to ridicule Palin and any questioning of press coverage being over the top. Scary bunch.
Hey, Linda -
Yes, that is exactly the one abt which I was thinking. Thanks for the details - much appreciated.
What is wrong with these people? Even in the face of FACTS, they still belittle and demean Palin? THat is reprehensible.
HEY, Republican Chick -
Thanks for your thoughtful response. I had heard Palin’s name mentioned before, and was impressed by her whistle blowing. And not just that she is one, but that she still has a CAREER!! How many times have we heard of people who pretty much lost everything even after winning? That she is now the governor after that speaks volumes abt her, I think.
Thanks again!
Donna B. probably can’t say too much right now, she got peppered sprayed yesterday by protesters at the RNC.
OMG—are the Democrats going to make this election about abortion rights and family values????? How has that worked for them the last decade?
I hear Palin is challenging Obama to a debate.
My money is on Sarah.
If Sarah Palin cannot run for VP because she has 5 kids, should we not allow women in the arm forces because they have ikids at home. Wake up America. This is not the Middle East where women cannot work. This is a very highly accomplished women who have vetoed bills and actually managed a budget.
WOmen in the arm forces with kids at home need to speak out. Our future is at stake. WHo are these liberal people to tells what work we can or cannot do.
I am so proud of this women, I can’t wait to volunteer. Go Sarah!!!!
Hillary’s the Queen.
I see Obama lost points today in the RealClear Politics Poll of Polls. He went from 8 points up yesterday to 5.8 points today.
Obama’s small (disappearing) convention bump may have something to do with his surrogates’ rabid attack on Sarah Palin. They don’t know how to oppose her. They are witless about dealing with an authentic newcomer apparently uncorrupted by the political system.
SCARY-TO-OBAMA FLASH: PALIN HAS THE STUFF TO BE A BIGGER ROCK STAR THAN YOU - AND (sorry, I can’t help it)SHE’S BETTER LOOKING!
Sheesh! Palin just doesn’t make it easy for Obama’s crew politically so they go for her throat personally.
Didn’t anybody learn anything about the vicious attacks on Hillary? Not the everyday ones, I mean the over-the-top of the top ones like what’s being heaped on Palin right now?
Women rushed to Hillary’s side at those moments. Get it? Obama and the media are ticking off women big-time right now and women who totally disagree with Palin on social issues are moving to her side to defend her - me included.
KEEP IT UP OBAMA! You and your DNC thugs and your media bunkmates just may kick off a raging 21st century feminist revolution! And it appears to be bipartisan.
If they keep this slime up am am going to start selling Obama 08 Turbans at the local mall.
You ought to sell burqas, too. I hear they’re really popular with the Sharia crowd.
Turbans with “Obama 08″ on the front
and
Burqas with “I’m with Stupid –>” on the back
it makes sense the more i think about it.
The Democratic party clearly told woman to shut up and take a back seat this election cycle.
The least those bitter old women can do is dress the part if they are going to play the part and vote to Elect Backtrack UhUhUhbama the Mysoganist in Thief.
They sure have. I’m hoping the UnDemocratic party gets told by the electorate in the GE that essentially you’re fired.
Oh Jesus! You just outdid yourself!
LMAO! I am laughing as I type this!
I know, these guys are pretty funny -
In 1964 I was twelve and my Irish twin brother(10 months older than me) were so excited that were finally old enough to sign up to play Little League baseball. We had been playing hardball since we could throw it My dad is a Red Sox Fanatic and still is at 78). Anyways, imagine my surprise, standing in line right ahead of my brother and the coach just looked at me and asked”What do you want?” To sign up, I said so excitedly. “Girls can’t play in Little League.”
I was devastated. My dad didn’t say I couldn’t play, no one had forewarned me. That was my first experience that ‘girls weren’t allowed to play HARDBALL with the boys.’
I know that has changed for little girls but the same barriers in so many areas are STILL there and I am sick of it.
I can operate a backhoe, maintain my home by myself, drive a pick-up, raised my daughter as a single mom and to see the ongoing hateful Misogyny shit almost worse than I’ve ever seen it infuriates me.
That’s why I too will support and vote fro McCain/Palin. Enough is Enough.
(And thanks for the callout Amy!! Love your work!)
No, thank you, Roseeriter! Great story - I just hope you’ll keep reading my work once you discover that I am - *gasp* - a Yankees’ fan!!!
Ironically, I just finished a piece a few minutes ago, and said what you said - enough is enough. It’s actually way past being enough…
My husband and I can’t believe this political cartoon in today’s SF Chronicle. So debasing. I am really disgusted with the media, my party and the whole political system. Palin may not hold many of my views but she is not a buffoon or a bimbo.
Calling Gloria Steinem….HELP!
http://www.sfgate.com/comics/meyer/
Oh, but no one questioned John Edwards as Kerry’s pick 4 yrs ago because…he’s a man!??
I haven’t been this angry in months (since the heavy Hillary bashing stopped)
Designed and executed by a low rent artist, as well.
This cartoonist clearly is not top shelf.
I just sent a letter to the Editor of the Chronicle. Can you believe it? In the Bay Area. I’ve just about had it.
B-b-b-ut Edwards helped pen the Patriot Act!
Y’all have to check out this t-shirt on CafePress
It says:

america first!
Meg Whitman, McCains co-chair, said that the media has been fair and not sexist. I guess she didn’t get the memo.
I find that difficult to believe. Where did you find that quote from her?
Dear women PUMAs,
I hope you don’t sour to all males of the human species but would not blame you if you did. This election and how low Ohitler and his shills have sunk is despicable!
My heart was broken the day Hillary suspended her campaign under pressure from what has become America’s Nazi party.

We won’t, not to worry. We know real men don’t attack babies, and mothers for sport; the only people(and I use the term grudgingly) are weak minded male or females who have no idea of real world circumstances, and are immature politically, as well as socially slowwwww.
Palin 12 & 16
No contest
roseeriter–I know how you feel. I am 56 yrs old and went to good public schools–the last one in very tony Pacific Palisades. Girls could wear pants ONE DAY A YEAR!
My father was the first feminist I knew–he said I could be anything! I went to Berkeley because it was the only place to be in the late 60s.
I’ve always been a devoted Democrat; I’ve HATED the Republicans…..after this year I’m checking out. I’ll vote McCain/Palin and hope the Dem party gets re-made and re-invented. I feel like crying today. I really can’t believe how savage the msm and the dems are toward Palin.
My heart goes out to you, Bay Area - and I completely understand. You are not alone…

I hear Palin is challenging Obama to a debate.
Lol, you read my mind.
Obambi wants to be compared as the better of the two, then he might as well debate her, would be hilarious to watch, somehow I feel Palin would take no chit from Obambi.
NQ McPopcorn, McChocolate & McIce Cream Concession–We women PUMAS won’t blame men–look at the Donkey Brazile, Andrea Mitchel, MoDo, MEchele Obama, Gloria Borgia, Sally Quinn, and on and on–no this anti-woman meme is coming from everywhere!
I don’t even talk to one of my best friends anymore because she hated Hillary and drank the KoolAid.
My husband is as angry about all this as I am!
There are lots of good men who can still see straight and call it like it is.
So the mccain strategy was to select a woman running mate knowing that the democrats would stay on the same strategy they’ve been using all year which has been successful. Trash the woman, the media will help and no one really cares because it’s just a woman.
So much slime in the democratic party has been exposed this election cycle.
Where are the noble leaders? Are there any?
I love JM.
It is obvious that Cindy was menopausal & that John would get something juicier.
Not a man to be nagged or pussy whipped by the politically correct.
Sarah will be a great president.
And she’ll kick Hillary’s ass in 012.
Sarah gets the conservatives who have always hated Hillary, the half of libs who now do, and every man who is a man.
Politico.com has this interesting statement by Delay -
DeLay to media: “Keep it up”
Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has a message to reporters scrutinizing John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin: “Please, media, keep it up.”
DeLay, speaking on a Politico/Yahoo/Pioneer Press panel in St. Paul on Wednesday morning, said the tough coverage has done something for McCain that the maverick could never do with his own party.
“The media has done more for John McCain in the last two days than he’s done for himself in the last year and a half,” DeLay said.
“Trashing her is waking up the sleeping giant, and the sleeping giant is Republican women,” he claimed.
Asked after the panel if the media-bashing by Republicans was a way of creating a common enemy between McCain and conservatives who had been reluctant to embrace his candidacy, DeLay said: “Exactly. You got it.”

Let her blaze away!!!
I found that last statement by DeLay quite interesting “if the media-bashing by Republicans was a way of creating a common enemy between McCain and conservatives who had been reluctant to embrace his candidacy, DeLay said: “Exactly. You got it.””
Now I don’t know about y’all, but I must say that this VP move is beginning to show how tactical the decision truly was.
There you are!
I need chocolate, chocolate, chocolate!
Amen! Amen! Amen!
Tom DeLay is absolutely correct.
The sleeping ‘monster‘ is what will win it all. All those spurned Hillary votes. That’s the biggest award to seek.
Just ask Sam Powers.
If I may add my take upon this issue. I’m a little ignorant regarding how the Republicans spoke out when Hillary was being bashed during the primaries?
I don’t know if the women Dems should speak out? But, I also see the rampant double-standard regarding the treatment of women candidates running for national office. I think the MSM along with certin elements in our Dem party aidded and abetted the double-standard on how we treat male vs female candidates for national office. We can’t deny that Soetoro and his Chicago Mugabe thug tactics played a major role in developing this form of politics1 Can we imagine what the future holds for our country if Mr. Soetoro-Obama wins…. Its time to start a movement to take back our party. Puma is an excellent start. We need to start looking for different type of Dem. candidates…
Carly Fiorina publicly sttod up for Hillary several times. Some of the other women may have, but as one said, the media would not have reported on it. Indeed, because it would have helped Hillary.
A great article about a democrat voting for Sarah Palin:

A Vote for Sarah Palin
By Suann Therese Maier
Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 7:51 AM
Go Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Reverend Amy, thanks for the laugh. Why am I laughing? Mike Barnacle of all people giving journalism ethics advise, acting as a mentor to a young journalist. Remind me Mike- why’d you lose your job at the Boston Globe? But that was back in the day when newspapers had standards, cared about excellence, took their reponsibilities to the public seriously. Now Barnacle is promoted and touted. Geeze’um!
Sorry, but I am not done with my rant about Barnacle. His behavior during the primaries just showed me he obviously learned NOTHING from the fall from grace and public humilation he went thru over his journalistic lack of ethics and integrity. He was utterly disgraced at the time. He loves to tout his Massachusetts Irish Catholic roots. Clearly, the nuns did not rap his knuckles hard enough. Or he must have been sleeping during the lessons on atonement.
LOL - nicely done, Tuppence! I lived in Boston for 8 yrs, and know all abt Barnacle. I had kinda forgotten abt his fall from grace - couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy!!
Good God on Fox..
People were plotting to kidnap delegates, to burn buildings..being taught how to disable police vehicles and buses, and making bombs. They law enforcement that had people who infiltrated the group… What is happening in this damn election? This level of violence is just sickening.
I have said this before. Soetoro and his thugs, emulating Robert Mugabe tactics..we are no better than Zimbabwe. Give it time it will get worst. Like Mr. Soetor stated, we will bring guns.
Oblahblah combines the worst of the far left and the far right all in one shitty package. He’s a Mugabe wannabe.
Don’t forget, these are the “peace loving” leftists who are always telling us that “violence never solves anything.”
Assholes.
“The most qualified? No! I think they went for this — excuse me– political bullshit about narratives”
“It’s over”
Anon 1–good read, thank you
At the moment, the Party operations were moved from Washington to Chicago. What does that mean? It means that the surrogates and party leadership has to adjust to the Chicago controls or else risk being marginalized. And that includes everybody.
It happens that I took a screenshot of NYTines front page after Hillary took all in W.Va. It says:
“Almost Nominee” status Keeps Obama in Limbo
next to
NYT looks like having a bipolar disorder.
Screenshot
The media is ignoring Barky’s lack of experience at the TOP of the ticket because McCain made them all look like dumbasses when he pulled off the surprise of the campaign season. Add that to the fact that she’s a strong and saavy woman with a lot more intelligence and common sense than the Beltway, Ivy-educated talking heads and its making steam come out of their ears and melting away any semblance of non-partisanship they had.
I am mortified that James Wolcott of Vanity Fair is making Sarah Palin a sexual object, affording only the 2nd VP woman candidate in the history of this country NO RESPECT. How sexist to reduce her to a sexual object of the man who selected her. Vile! WE MUST FIGHT THIS SEXISM.
I JUST CANCELLED MY SUBSRIPTION TO VANITY FAIR and encourage all to do the same. Call Conde Naste starting at 8:30AM to complain 212-286-2860.
Uhh that comment about bringing guns and knives…some people take that kind of stuff seriously when they hear it. There are sick people in this world. But it just seems so odd that there trying to kidnap republican delegates. I swear on everything I love that I hate where my mind is going. But watching everything that is happenign….
Just today watching Jack Cafferty damn near foaming at the mouth, reading articles where people just lost all tact and actually came out with vulgar sexual remarks. I mean so many people have literally lost ever drop of credibility. So many people have so much to lose if a washington outsider who has taken on those in there own party manages to get in power.
Maybe then someone would investigate why everyone thinks its okay to send people death threats and hack accounts and post personal info on line. Better yet, why anyone could get away with making comments labeling entire states that didnt vote for Obama as “racist”. Hell Roland Martin just said last night in response to a comment about sexism directed at Gov Palin that if you question Obama your either a bigot or a racist. It is scaring alot of individuals who I know were actually going to hold there nose and vote for Obama.
But after this last week the actions of the Dems and the media has scared people shitless. To be scared or intimidated to not give a truthful answer on who you will support because you have “fear” is not something I would of ever thought I would see in a country I volunteered to help defend. It really hurts to know that we are on a path that I would of never dreamed possible.
But the one thing that really bothers me is that I have been treated better by the damn Iraqi’s and local nationals when I deploy then some of the Obama supporters once they find out that I dont support him. Especially when they realize that I am black and not supporting him. Some of the comments I get are just down right stunning. At least with the Iraqi’s I know there thinking bad thoughts because were in there country, but its fucked up when people in your own country TELL you they hope something bad happens to you just because you dont support a person.
Barnacle is a dead sac. Matthews is the useless Leg. Pat, well, great grasp on politics and probably the only one MSNBC that merits his salary.
MSNBC, the network for and of pimps, pornographers, and whores - of both sexes.
Sorry, but I despise that network and never watch it.
I guess we can say that Sarah is already on the job as a reformer.
Look what she is doing about sexism and the MSM!!!
I can’t wait to hear her speech tonight! I hope it has a larger viewing audience than Barrys fireworks spectacular.
As far as Kerry and his criticism - I’d like to ask him the following question: If Joe Biden is so damn great and wonderful - why the hell didn’t he select him as his VP?
2008 Voter Packing List
Cell Phone: To call for help in case the Obama surrogate in the booth with you “helping” you vote gets physical.
Camera: To record all of those dead voters and that guy who was there an hour earlier voting under a different name.
Friend (or as we say “Battle Buddy” in the army): To run for help if the Obama supporter in the booth with you happens to get physical when you write Senator Clintons name in.
Medic: To help clean up the Obots when they explode after Obama loses.
Pictures of Obama: In case your location has large amounts of Obama supporters, you will need pictures of there messiah in case there is trouble. By showing his picture, it will momentarily stun them because they will be unable to look away. Almost like a deer caught in headlights of a passing car.
Food/Water: To sustain you while you camp outside 24hrs before (3 Nov) to vote for Clinton or Mccain/Palin to make sure your vote counts
Trashbags: To pick up all the ballots secretly thrown away that were replaced with ballots marked “Obama/Biden”.
Please go to the polling locations in groups of three to four.
Sexism is a-okay in the USA.
Until women make THAT the central voting issue this year (instead of the faux issue of abortion) it will not change.
The DNC - sexist misogynits to the core yet in deep denial - could have wrapped up this election by choosing Hillary as VP.
Instead - thet choose an old white guy who’s been around “Forever” because deep in their own hearts they don’t have the BALLS to truly make history.
Deep in their hearts they don;t trust Obama will win without an old white guy holding his hand.
Obama and Biden look RIDICULOUS standing side by side.
And if the Obama-lovers had an ounce of honesty in their DNA they’d admit Hillary was the better VP choice.
Hey - Obama camp monitiors — I have a deal for you. If you find some plausible excuse to replace Joe with Hill I’ll vote the DNC ticket.
How’s that for a proposition?
Damn right
And you Hillhags have won this for us.
That’s the beauty part.
Sarah is the girl we’ve been waiting for.
Know matter how you dress up a Obama supporter on a blog, there “hilllary hate” always shine through and they always show there true colors. Why bite the hand that feeds you? Meaning.. If your a Republican, you wouldnt come out and insult the voters you need. I could care less about how they may view me, and best believe I am no “hag”. But feel free to click on my link for a very important message. Anyway… By telling us “hillhags” you have been waiting on Palin, that lets us know right off the bat that you are a bot. Sadly thats a Democratic trait. Insult us, call us names, threaten and then wonder why we wont vote for Obama.
Better yet, let me be clear. 2012 there will be a Woman President in the White House and her name will be Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. It will be Clinton vs Palin. In order to achieve that goal Gov Palin and Mccain need to win. And they will if we have to drag her and Mcsame to the end of the line. Babysit her damn 5 kids, whatever.. We need those corrupt Dems out of office and we need to clean house.
She is just what we need right now in 2008 to have a Clinton 2012
At last I have something in common with the No Quarter crowd: an unshakable conviction that a specific person is so obviously unqualified to be President of the United States that their assumption to that position would represent a clear and present danger to the safety and security of the nation. The only difference is that I see that danger in the person of Sarah Palin.
Fortunately most Americans are going to stop to consider what might happen if a President McCain were suddenly sidelined at a critical moment, leaving Ms. Palin at the helm of the greatest military power on earth.
The next thing they’ll likely ask themselves is What the hell was John McCain thinking?
First, what is it with the media and so many bots referring to a single individual as “a …” “A President McCain”, what the heck is that all about? How many President McCains could we possibly have?
Second, it’s not “Ms. Palin”, she is the governor of Alaska and should be referred to as Governor Palin.
As for Governor Palin being at the helm, can I assume you are against her being in charge because she is a woman?
Innocent bystander, then you aren’t thinking clearly. As an independent for a number of years now, I have voted for both dems and republicans, but this year there is no doubt who I would support. You see, I was quite capable to research Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, and I checked her record. There is nothing in Obama’s record that even comes close to her experience. Just because he campaigned for the last two years and became a household name, that doesn’t give him experience, except in the campaigning department. Nothing else and you choose to believe differently that’s fine, but you are wrong.
Soldier:
You make no sense.
I’ve been behind Rush and our counter attack against Hillary the criminal killer and the Feminazis since the 80s.
Actually I was at war in the 70s but only found that there was a world of people line me in the 80s with talk radio.
Yea, I always believed a real woman could succeed but, Billary, neither woman nor real.couldn’t.
McCain 4 years, Sarah 8 years. Kicking liberal ass
And Sarah is hot & I respect John for being brave enough to pick that which will make his life better.
And I disagree with you. However I do have very real reasons on why I support Senator Clinton but I found that some individuals only want to hate “billary” than listen to valid reasons.
Everyone has there own reasons for who they supported. I do not view Senator Clinton as a “saint” nor do I consider myself a “fan”. I am not looking for a best friend, buddy or BFF.I didnt care about past grievenances or what she may or may not have done. People allowed there personal feelings to override everything. Turned this election into black versus white. When it should of been who is best to do the job.
However now the best we get is Mccain when I dont agree with a majority of the issues he address however there is one aspect that will override everything and that is the fact I dont doubt for one second he loves this country. No, policy wise we need what the Democratic party was originally founded on and for…. but what no longer exists. Because someone already decided the Democratic nominee a long time ago. This election is no longer about change but the lesser of two evils. However with Gov Palin it may be different because she is not part of the washington crowd.
But that is my belief, my feelings, and something I will stand up for and always address.
Great comments, Soldier. It is just staggering that Obama thugs have been so disrespectful to someone wearing the uniform of our country. I bet a gazillion dollars that none of the ones making such derogatory remarks have worn the uniform. Just disgusting. I guess they forget that whole “free speech” thing.
So, may I say, thank you, Soldier, for giving of your time and your dedication in your service. And I am deeply sorry that anyone would attack you or wish you ill simply because you disagree on political candidates.
And on that note, thank you for your support of the best candidate in the field.

Read this clip on O’Reilly’s site. You will know why nbc/msnbc are trying to play nice. I heard they all, including CNN were punched by McCain camp about their sexism remarks and how they were treating the Palin family!
