Look Out, Obama - Trouble’s a Brewin’ on the Airwaves…

Governor Sarah Palin hit it out of the park in her speech at the RNC Wednesday night, making it even hotter in the kitchen for Senator Obama – a man long on rhetoric but short on principles. Lou Dobbs just pointed out on his national radio show that Governor Palin has more executive experience than all three candidates combined. He feels “Palin is a game changer who can bring McCain across the finish line.”

Apparently, Lou is not the only one who thinks so. Let’s take a look at the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, the state Hillary won despite being outspent by a three to one margin. Dave Eberhart’s story Radio Host Jumps Parties After Hillary Debacle tells us:

Steve Corbett, a rabid Hillary Clinton stalwart who packs clout as the biggest talk-show host in northeastern Pennsylvania, has abandoned the Democratic Party to shout across the airwaves: “Nobama! Nobiden! Nobull!”

Corbett, who led what he called “Operation Turndown” in a foiled attempt to deny the nomination to the “unqualified” Barack Obama and award it to Clinton, recently told his radio audience that the way his heroine was “disrespected” at the Democratic convention “put me over the edge.”

“Like Hillary Clinton, I’ve decided to move on. It’s time for a change,” he told listeners on the popular AM station, WILK.

Corbett feels that there were also women who betrayed Hillary – by far the strongest and best candidate.

“A whole new generation of young women who have no sense of the sacrifice that took place before they were out of diapers have signed on to the anti-Hillary assault as well. Sadly, even some of them sneer at the sexist portrayals of this woman who sacrificed for them and did her best despite harsh odds to bring equity to the workplace, the home and the country.”

Hey – it wasn’t only a percentage of women – but also women’s rights organizations like NARAL – which Hillary helped put on the map in the first place, by the way. [This was a decision that came from NARAL President, Nancy Keenan. District offices were none too happy with this betrayal.]

But for the young women out there who think sexism is a thing of the past, think again. You have only to look at the way Senator Clinton and Governor Palin are being treated in the year 2008 to realize misogyny is alive and well in this country, and being practiced by the mainstream media and the Democrats more than anyone.

You remember the Democrats – the Party that has been holding women hostage to Roe v. Wade for years. Corbett is right about Senator Clinton, though. Recently, Hillary once again stood up for women’s contraceptive rights – she and Senator Patty Murray were out there first and loud. Nary a word from Obama; too busy playing President in Berlin.

Please pardon my dust, but there is an old saying, “Shit rolls downhill.” The reason we are in so much trouble in this country is not because George Bush is a Republican, but because he is a lousy leader, an arrogant, petulant man who thinks God whispers in his ear. A man lacking in humility. Barack has this is common with our current President. Obama is not someone who will stand up for women’s rights, or anyone other than himself. That much is already evident as he has willy-nilly thrown people and important policy principles under the bus with alarming frequency. FISA? Hello?

Besides Roe v. Wade, it is crucial that women be treated as equals and with respect, in the home, in the workplace and in the political arena. A concept that seems to have eluded Senator Obama with his careless ‘get over it’ attitude. Furthermore, if Reagan, Bush I & II did not overturn this legislation, it is doubtful McCain/Palin ever would. Even the very conservative Justice Scalia has stated he would not fly in the face of stare decisis; well-settled law.

There are many women in this country, and men like Corbett, who have had about enough of this filthy, sexist treatment and for everyone who has betrayed Hillary, there are many more who will say, ‘Nobama, No Way.’.

But surely the Democratic Party has more to offer than threats. Oh yeah, more disrespect.

Who here thinks that Pennsylvanians will soon forget Barry’s horrid, elitist description of Pennsylvanians: bible totin’ gun slingin’ bitter voters…?

The disaffection of Corbett, a well-known voice in the vital Keystone State, is not especially good news to the Obama camp. Vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden, the senator from Delaware, has gone out of his way to emphasize that he is the offspring of simple working stiffs from the hardscrabble town of Scranton.

But Corbett delights in letting the Obama crowd know that rhetoric in a jammed stadium in Denver hasn’t turned the collective heads of the white working class.

“Voters will come from hunting camps, church picnics, NASCAR races and country music concerts to turn down Obama,” Corbett jeers.

It also not particularly good politics for Obama to be disrespecting Senator McCain. A war hero with a long and esteemed record of service.

“It was bad enough that Obama assaulted Hillary Clinton’s character during the primary elections,” Corbett laments. “Now he attacks the fighting spirit of a Navy hero who survived his plane getting shot down over enemy territory, torture and the deep psychological wounds of captivity.”

…“Pennsylvania, particularly the coal region, boasts too many veterans and families of active-duty military personnel to let Obama snipe at duty and honor from his ivory tower. Blue-collar voters don’t take kindly to serial hecklers who’ve never been to boot camp.”

Last night, Sarah Palin and Rudy Giuliani, among others, delivered some real body blows to the inexperienced, arrogant Senator Obama.

Obama also gave Republicans some cannon fodder with his $6 million faux Grecian temple. Big boo-boo.

As Hillary Clinton predicted all along, the Republicans will not be hamstrung as she was, not able to fully attack on Obama’s many flaws and flip-flops. Republicans will be relentless.

And the disrespect that Senator Obama showed Hillary and her 18,000,000 supporters will come back to haunt him. Not that she should ever have been his VP, but the fact that he did not even show the respect of vetting her, of properly considering her, or making a public, respectful overture to her, will stick in the craws of many.

His disrespect is also coming back to haunt him in the person of many big Hillary donors. John Coale, for example, is also jumping ship to McCain.

And radio host Steve Corbett is just getting started:

“A dozen packed stadium rallies won’t convince the voting bloc Obama needs to win that he is anything other than a spoiled, childish senator who wants more than anything to be crowned king…”

Corbett’s phone lines have been lighting up with callers echoing their support. No, Senator, it’s not a good idea to piss off the people in control of the air waves.

Just ask Lou Dobbs, a powerful anchor, and just about the only sane guy at CNN, who has referred to Senator Obama repeatedly as “a dangerous, duplicitous liar” and “an empty suit.”

Furthermore, Mr. Corbett had a few choice words about Governor Sarah Palin:

“Wild Bill Obama doesn’t want to taunt this woman. Like McCain, Palin is nobody to mess with. She carries a gun, rides a motorcycle, and battles big oil and corrupt politicians of both parties in some real tough terrain.”

Let’s put it this way, Palin has already shown she’s got the stuff to take Obambi on – all his empty words don’t seem to frighten a woman who’s given birth to five children. During the primary, Obama made fun of Hillary, calling her Annie Oakley. Obama was too shortsighted to realize he was paying Hillary a huge compliment. Oakley was an amazing lady and a trailblazer for justice and women.

Well, looks like he’s got another Annie Oakley on his hands. Palin’s got some grit – something Obama wouldn’t understand if it bit him.

He’s still busy complaining he can’t get any arugula at Whole Foods.

And, no, Senator, you can’t just eat your waffle. You’re going to be too busy this Fall trying to prove to the American people that you are more than “words, just words.”

Steve Corbett doesn’t think you can do it. Lou Dobbs isn’t giving you very good odds, either.

Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to black Muslim Barack Hussein Obama Sr. of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and White atheist, Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas.
When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya. His mother married Lolo Soetoro, a Muslim as well, moving to Jakarta with young Obama, when he was six years old.
Within six months he had learned to speak the Indonesian language Obama spent “two years in a Muslim school, then two more in a Catholic school” in Jakarta.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. Mitigating that information, by saying that for two years, he attended a Catholic school.
Obama’s father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. was a radical Muslim who migrated from Kenya to Jakarta, Indonesia. He met Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham?at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Obama’s spin- meisters are now attempting to make it appear that Obama’s introduction to Islam, came from his father and that influence was only temporary, which is true. Obama Sr. returned to Kenya immediately following the divorce and never again had any direct influence over his son’s education. But,
Lolo Soetoro, Ann Dunham’s second husband, educated his stepson Barack Hussein Obama, as a good Muslim by enrolling him in one of Jakarta’s Wahabbi schools.
Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists, who are now waging Jihad on the industrialized world. Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when you are seeking political office in the United States, Obama joined the United Church of Christ, to help purge any notion

but according to John Kerry we MUST elect Obama because he’s a Black man…

Kerry said that a President Obama would help the US, in relations with Muslim countries, “in some cases go around their dictator leaders to the people and inspire the people in ways that we can’t otherwise.”
“He has the ability to help us bridge the divide of religious extremism,” Kerry said. “To maybe even give power to moderate Islam to be able to stand up against this radical misinterpretation of a legitimate religion.”

Kerry was asked what gives Obama that credibility.

“Because he’s African-American. Because he’s a black man. Who has come from a place of oppression and repression through the years in our own country.”

How would Muslim extremists view a U.S. president who was born a Muslim but as an adult defected to Christianity?

It’s the racism of Kerry’s statement that got me. It’s clearly, brazenly, and blatantly RACIST.

Obama will influence and pacify our enemies…. because he is one of them.

Is this, fundamentally, what John Kerry is saying?

Comment by jd4hill | 2008-09-05 17:37:59

But clearly racist comments are ok with the DNC as long as they HELP Obama. So Kerry’s assinine statements are no problem for them.

Kerry: “Because he’s African-American. Because he’s a black man. Who has come from a place of oppression and repression through the years in our own country.”

What place of oppression and repression? His early childhood years were in Hawaii, about as far as one can get in this country from the struggling recently de-segregated South and Northern inner city blight of the 1960’s. His grade school years were spent in Indonesia, where from all accounts he wasn’t being bused from the inner city to a suburban white elementary school. His achievement of making it to Occidental, Columbia and Harvard indicates his early schooling wasn’t deficient. Middle and high school were spent at an upscale, private, racially integrated school in Hawaii. He wasn’t the only darker skinned kid among lily white kids splattered in sun screen. Next he went onto Occidental, Columbia and Harvard. African American kids at the time were lucky to make it onto community and state colleges, not many were applying to the Ivy League.

What has happened to Senator Kerry? Has the DNC been nabbing congressmen and women from Washington cocktail parties and brainwashing them? Handing out lobotomies with their new membership cards? President Bush makes more sense than Senator Kerry these days.

Comment by Monet | 2008-09-05 12:44:42

I should add that by the time he discovered the South Side of Chicago, a repressed and oppressed place, he was a graduate of Columbia University and soon decided to use the community as a stepping stone to a political career. While it’s difficult to find major legislative accomplishments in his decade long career, by any scale used to measure his political career, he’s been highly successful. He’s in a dead heat for president.

What in the world is Senator Kerry talking about? Senator Obama’s childhood is as far from the typical African American childhood as a kid can get and his adult life he’s been encouraged and celebrated. What place of repression and oppression is Senator Obama from? I’d like to find it, move there and give my career a new jump start.

White/haoles were the minority at the prep schools that Soetoro attended in Hawaii. Students of color were the vast majority. I know I went to a school just a few blocks away from the private high school he attended. I also took music lessons after school at the high school he attended.

Narcissists have a difficult time when they aren’t the center of attention ALL THE TIME. So poor guy — his mom had a baby and he was no longer the center of her world. This is something that all older siblings have to go through — it is part of life and part of growing up.

Soetoro has has Biden convinced that he grew up in Kansas. Ha!

Soetoro is a flat out liar — it is impossible to know when he is telling the truth about anything.

Someone wrote yesterday — that the Democrat Convention was all about Obama — while the Republican convention was about America.

There is no longer any Democratic party — it is the Obamacrat party. I’m not interested in going on my knees to a false god.

Comment by d4hillary | 2008-09-05 14:46:21

John Kerry said this? Barak Obama has never witnessed oppression. He is not really an American black. The DNC is in real trouble. Palin is an ordinary smart woman who actually has made a real american black consider voting Republican for the first time ever.

Comment by Turning Tide | 2008-09-05 14:53:22

Kerry’s a moron who lost to the worst president in modern times. It takes a particular brand of failure to accomplish that.

Comment by realist | 2008-09-05 17:47:39

So Bush is the “worst president in modern times”? Guess you can’t recall Jimmy Carter, he of the 18% home mortgage interest rates, 8% unemployment rate, and 12% inflation rate. He whose failure to support the Shah of Iran in his efforts to survive takeover by Ayatollah Khomeini led to the advent of the modern terrorist state, effectively changing the balance of power in the Middle East from moderation and conciliation, witness Sadat’s Egypt and King Hussein’s Jordan, to the current Islamic extremism, and intolerance. You don’t remember?

Love seeing the truth. Yes!

That is an indirect link, as the NewsBusters link won’t post here.

People are pissed over the media’s vicious, sexist assaults against Governor Palin.

There’s more smear stuff, coming out, so please, spread the word around and email each and every writer you see spreading the kind of filth US Weekly did. We have to let these people know we will not tolerate this attempt to destroy the first female VP of the United States.

Comment by Lark | 2008-09-05 08:13:19

During the interview conducted at Fox, the editor of the article proved beyond a shred of doubt that the magazine is a fraud, worthless, and its intent is to sway unsuspected innocent towards Barack. If he or his campaign had any decency they would condemn US magazine and advocate that everyone would cancel their subscription.

Anyone who still believes in Obama for president has to be politically retarded. He is fast becoming the most dangerous man in the world. I base that last statement on the idea of him wanting to become the leader of the most powerful nation on earth and the commander in chief of our military.

I have never fallen for the Christian part of his resume. I believe he is Muslim and he may be an extension of the 9/11 terrorism in an even more horrific way…gain access to the Highest position in the country and ultimately the world. You all are familiar with the verse in the Bible that forewarns us to “beware of false prophets”. I am a Christian who grew up in Georgia with many Black friends, I have attended all Black Churches, and predominately White Churches, as well. I have NEVER heard Black Theology in any of the Churches I attended, and I have a hard time believing that true Christians would sit in a “Church” and listen to a Theology that was created in the 1900’s by a person, not a Prophet, nor a Disciple. That is not Christianity. That so called Church is nothing more than a meeting hall for the Black equivalent to the KKK. It is racism, and it is especially vile and repulsive because it is the opposite of the teachings of Christ. There is a plan underway to ruin the United States, our economy, our Constitution, our very lives. I believe barack Obama is the agent of change who has been selected and financially funded to bring about the demise of the United States as we know it.

Comment by pasmalltowngirl | 2008-09-05 10:07:58

Well said, I totally agree with you. I believe if Obama gets elected our life as we know it will no longer exist. That he has been put were he is for the sole purpose of destroying our country. Put all of the pieces to the puzzle of his life together, that should tell you who the real Barack Obama is. His associates, all of the people who have put him and helped him to get were he is today. All of the lies, all of the unanswered and off limit questions to his past, to who he really is and what he stands for.

Here is a sight to go to read about “Taqiyya”. It is very chilling and it fits Obama.

The word “Taqiyya” literally means: “Concealing, precaution, guarding.” It is employed in disguising one’s beliefs, intentions, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions or strategies. In practical terms it is manifested as dissimulation, lying, deceiving, vexing and confounding with the intention of deflecting attention, foiling or preemptive blocking. It is currently employed in fending off and neutralising any criticism of Islam or Muslims.

Americans needs to Wake Up NOW , DO NOT take our lives and our great country for granted. Fight NOW to keep this man out of OUR WHITE HOUSE.

Who gives a shit about this CRAP?

His faith isn’t the issue, his COMPETENCE for higher office is.

When you tell a little lie, no one will believe you if you ever decide to tell a big truth (The lies you’ve forwarded are as follows: His first school wasn’t a “muslim” school, it was a PUBLIC school–and that Wahabbi school bullshit is a flat-out LIE–Lolo was a “bad” Muslim–he had a DRINKING PROBLEM, in fact).

I don’t support Obama for the office of President, but this stupid bullshit you’re throwing around doesn’t help at all.

Stop being ignorant, flaky, conspiratorial and moronic–you look like the opposite side of the Obot coin. There’s plenty of REAL ISSUES that make Obama a “bad pick” for the highest office in the land.

Comment by Liz B | 2008-09-05 10:31:57

Well how about if we just hook both candidates up to lie detector tests (Like that game show), and we can ask them all these questions and finally have the proof!
I’m not trying to dis your response, and I have never been a Conspiracy Theory nut. I do believe in the Bible though, and I’m sorry you obviously don’t give much credence to it. Why is it so hard for you to believe the Extremist part to Barack, when you know what has happened thus far. Let’s face it, nothing he has said or done that would normally cause a candidate to bow out of a race, has even been reported in the Media. You might be right about plenty of legitimate reasons not to support Barack, but don’t be so quick to discredit the seemingly far-fetched accusations. A year ago would you have believed that the Democratic Party would be using intimidation tactics at the DNC to alter the votes of Clinton supporters? But, it’s true! It seemed pretty hard to believe and it has taken some of us eight months to allow it to fully sink in.
Don’t hate on what you can’t understand. Telling the truth about someone isn’t swiftboating them!

Comment by ohio | 2008-09-05 10:50:30

Well, I don’t think the drinking problem has a darn thing about not being a “bad” muslim. As I remember, a couple of the hi-jackers of 9/11 had frequented a strip joint and drinking before they did what they did. I remember the reports saying that their job was to fit in while they were here. They planned 9/11 for something like 8 years. They are pretty patient and everyone around them thought they were one of us.

Comment by mandy | 2008-09-05 11:12:22

They also think we ( Americans) are stupid and we’ll fall for anything. Obama’s done a good job so far. I wonder though, not to long ago Obama made a threat to McCain saying Senator McCain better look out because he didn’t know who he was messing with, and he didn’t intend to loose. Now just how are we suppose to take that?

After watching the O’Reilly interview, I’m going to reserve judgment on O’R until I see how it goes next week.

Obama’s demeanor, to me, was telling. He couldn’t hide his arrogance. If I had a dollar for everytime I’ve heard Obama say, “I’ve always said…” lately, I’d have A LOT OF DOLLARS. Definitely being sensitive to the flip flop accusation. “Here’s a newsflash–don’t flip flop!”

Probably the most orchestrated campaign in the history of campaigns, yet they can’t get the uh out of him.

It’s a habit academics develop to ‘hold the floor’. Academics are a bunch of rude people who interrupt all the time. If you keep uh-uh-uhing while you think, it prevents others from interrupting. Some will say the first syllable of a word over and over, and Obama does that too: “as…as…as…as I have said”

Q: my question is are you selling this item for 8.50 or are you going to pay 8.50 for someone to take it away either way its seems like a bad deal Sep-05-08
A: IT IS A BAD DEAL FOR THIS COUNTRY TOO!!!!!
Q: Is it too late to change the auction so that you pay us to take the DNC off the democratic voters hands? I’d make a nice large negative bid and then happily deliver them to an uninhabited island. Sep-05-08
A: SORRY…ALREADY HAD SOME BIDS AND EBAY DOESN’T ALLOW THAT…. DAMN I AM REALLY SORRY I DIDN’T THINK OF THAT TOO
Q: I am very interested in your product, any proof that this DNC thing works? Is there a warranty, can I return it for a full refund, what about shipping how big is it? Finally, according the most knowledgeable MSM, we’re in a recession/depression and now I am hoping a second stimulus check will be forthcoming. If the bidding goes too high can I pay (I’m good for it) once that check arrives? Sep-05-08
A: I KNOW IT DOESN’T WORK, THAT’S WHY ITS UP FOR BIDS
Q: I see you listed the ingredients, but is there any Hillary in there or did they remove that ingredient completely? I need to know because I think I have an allergy… Sep-05-08
A: They removed Hillary due to “cheating” “lying” and “sexism”.
Q: Are you absolutely sure you will not ship them? I was thinking I would bid high if I could get you to ship them out of the country for me. Sep-05-08
A: NOPE….. don’t like the package I would have to send….. you won’t like receiving them either!!!
Q: Since they will not drill can they be burned for fuel? Will there be the normal confiscatory socialist taxes applied to this sale? Sep-05-08
A: You know the answer to both questions… natural gas is what they breathe out, perhaps perhaps their hot air will solve the energy crisis!!!
Q: Does this item have a “use by” date? What is it? Sep-05-08
A: Clever question… I wonder … let me look… nope it looks like their all used up to me!!!
Q: I’m not quite sure if I want this. Can I bid “Present” for now until I figure out whether this item will be popular? Sep-05-08
A: If Barack Hussein Obama can vote present many many times in the Illinois Senate and can’t make up his mind, then any citizen can. But my question is do you want to follow his example?
Q: I heard that the DONC already sold out to lobbyists and special interest, are you sure this is the real thing? If it smells of arugula and has a picture of Greek columns on the box it is definitely a fake. BTW, I did not and will not bid on your item, it’s something that impulse buyers and youth with to much time/money on their hands might be interested in purchasing. Good luck on your auction! Sep-05-08
A: Well, whoever the buyer.. they would be the fool!!!
Q: Can this be picked up locally? I happen to be in Moscow this week and I will be in Tehran next week. Sep-05-08
A: If you have an Indonesian passport only!!!
Q: Do you take any othe currencies other than US? I understand that the DNC has some “funny money.” I just want to make sure that paypall is still okey dokey for the transaction. Sep-05-08
A: Does paypal take money from Soros? I wonder!!!
Q: Your red and black armband is on too tight and it’s cutting off the circulation to your brain. Sep-05-08
A: Naw!.. My brain is working,… what’s a red and black armband ???
Q: Does Barack Obama come with at least a starter supply of arugula? That stuff can be expensive, and I’m concerned that buying that particular element of the DNC might be one of those “trick” good-seeming deals like buying a printer. You know, cheap to buy initially, but the consumables required to keep it running (ink for printers, arugula for Barack) can cost a small fortune! Sep-05-08
A: Look… you know the deal… ya gotta feed um if you buy. He only comes with a no return policy so take your chances. What has he spent so far for his trip to Europe, repainting his plane, the 19 month presidential campaign (only 143 days in the senate), the extra 40 million for Invesco field…. and on and on it goes. His supporters paid for that, perhaps you could take donations from them (like Rashid Khalidi?)…
Q: Is a rock concert, knockwurst and beer also available? I’ll keep an eye on this~ wouldn’t want to waste my cash, may need it for taxes! Sep-04-08
A: Sorry.. no more rock concerts available… Fresh out of music and joy… turned a deaf ear to the American Public… and overlooked 18 million voters!!!!
Q: Is Air America included in the package? Sep-04-08
A: YOU SEEM AN ASTUTE INQUIRER… DO YOU THINK THEY BELONG ON THE LIST? HOW ABOUT THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA… ESPECIALLY CNN AND THEIR ILK!!!
Q: Does this item come with the Styrofoam Greek columns ? Sep-04-08
A: No they have been returned to the studio… the show is over!!!
Q: Hi! Please don’t post his question (I’m serious this time, unlike my previous message). I just wanted to let you know that if a buyer is making a “local pick up” then PayPal should NOT be a payment method - it should be cash only. If a buyer uses PayPal then picks up an item, the seller has no proof that the buyer actually received the item. PayPal will then deduct the entire amount from your account so the buyer can receive both the item AND a full refund. The following link has more information for you: http://answercenter.ebay.com/search.jspa?search=true&forum=-1&q=paypal%20pick%20up%20item&anticache=1220587717776 All the best with your auction! Karen :) Sep-04-08
A: LOL>…… I doubt if anyone really wants this item anyway… thanks!!!
Q: Hi, I’m considering taking this load of “________” off your hands. But, before I bid, would you know if there are any other uses for this bunch other than for just pinata practice? Do any of them have callouses on their hands from hard work? Can they be trusted? Thanks in advance for your reply! Sep-04-08
A: Well.. I must be honest… they didn’t work hard for anyone but themselves in the primaries and congress…. That is why they are up for sale!!! They were for sale long ago to special interests!
Q: does it come with bags to throw up in? Can I safely put it in my local dump? Don’t want the add ons, they smell real bad. Sep-04-08
A: You’d need to have a big clothes pin that is for sure… I am having a hard time stomaching them myself… I have had 6 bids… up to $6.50 now…. don’t miss your chance!!!
Q: How much are you willing to pay me to take them off your hands. I mean, finding a proper waste dump that would take such toxic substance would be hard to find Sep-04-08
A: With the price so low… I don’t know… sheesh it seems like you would have to shoot them to outer space to keep earth safe!!!

Ask seller a question

Great piece- very informative! Lou Dobbs can be pompous- but I ignore it because I think he’s so damn smart and he gets it!

Next week Obama is sending Democratic women next week to hit Palin- Sebelius, Napolitano and Hillary. Won’t this put a lot of Hillary supporters in a tough spot?

Comment by Perry Logan | 2008-09-05 06:49:57

Putting Hillary supporters in a tough spot is what Obama does.

Comment by Boxer Mum 06 | 2008-09-05 08:37:45

Bottom line is - Hillary is NOT on the ticket! She was not SELECTED!

It’s not even an issue with me at this point. Anything she says about Barry and why we should vote for him. Scare tactics I’m sure will be used - but oh wait - only Republicans do that, right?

Nothing is going to change my voting for McCain/Palin.

We will have to see if Hillary will be ’selected’ in 2012 and then we’ll talk.

If Hillary gets wrapped up in the sexism treatment of Palin - she may lose this supporter as well. I strongly hope Hillary doesn’t sell a sister short to help a loser like Barry.

Comment by Liz B | 2008-09-05 10:09:35

I have to agree. I love Hillary, but she is the one being politically held hostage to Obama, not me!

Comment by Sugar | 2008-09-05 11:01:50

buxer mum,
right on , Hillary will loose credibility if she goes too much for Obama..with me anyway…adn with others it seems. I think Palin has that authenticity and connects without the Clinton history that she will outdo Hillary. Of course Hillary has a lock on the issues and could probably run rings around Sara.

Comment by K Lynne | 2008-09-05 07:51:40

I read just a few minutes ago that one of Hillary’s aides said something to the order of “Hillary may not be able to help out much - she has a lot of committments” ;-).

Is that the polite way of saying ‘take a hike’ or ‘go fight your own battles, buddy’??

Comment by Deb | 2008-09-05 08:10:07

Are you serious? She really said that? I’ll hold off on cheering for a little bit- but if she doesn’t go all out for Barry I’ll have even more respect for her. (That, from a Republican!)

Meanwhile, Oprah is not sure if she’ll have Palin on her show:
http://drudgereport.com/flash3os.htm

Comment by Boxer Mum 06 | 2008-09-05 08:34:23

I want to share a story I heard about Oprah. This is true and from someone that I’ve known for several years.

Several years back, a company was bidding for a contract to provide security guards for her show. Oprah had final approval on everyone that was hired (this is not the norm).

There were many great candidates who had military and law enforcement experience. She would NOT even consider them if they were not black.

She said that she didn’t want cream in her coffee.

After I heard that, I never looked at her the same way again. I loved Oprah and all that she has done for children, victims and animals but that was a deal breaker for me.

Comment by Sugar | 2008-09-05 11:04:29

I don’t know if I believe that. I’m disappointed with the way Oprah has handled this thing with Obama, but as many white folks as she has handling her show and that she honors in any given year? Even alluding to the notion that she is racist is ridiculous.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-09-05 11:33:30

She’s from Chicago. She may have had a reason for wanting black security personnel to augment an existing cadre of other races. After all, you want your staff to reflect your home base, and that may have been what was up, there.

It’s not fair to call her racist, even if the story is completely true, without knowing the backstory. What she is, though, is an idiot who thought her popularity extended beyond things “personal” and “spiritual”–she figured out quick that Obama was BAD FOR BUSINESS, which is why she backed away gracefully.

Why should Hillary help him handle “the little woman” from Alaska? And why should he dare to have the NERVE to ask her?

That’s BIDEN’s job.

He didn’t even vet her for VP–her forte is matters PRESIDENTIAL, not VICE Presidential…and we know she WILL be the President come 2012.

If there’s any Democratic Party left after this styrofoam columned debacle, they’re unlikely to make this fucking huge mistake again.

If Hillary wants to go on Obama’s leash then she has decided to give up on a future presidential bid. Leadership comes from being able to go against one’s own party for the good of the country.

Country first — McCain had it right all along.

Comment by Nicole | 2008-09-05 09:23:47

Did it ever occur to you that perhaps the Obama Democratic National Committee has her over a barrel? That perhaps they will only retire her debt if she does their bidding? And if that’s the case, what choice does she have.

Don’t be such a scold–you can’t pretend to know or understand what pressures Senator Clinton has to bear. Also, she is a Democrat first and foremost.

Deb, if sen Obama & DNC DARE to put Democratic female pols going against Gov Palin- I strongly suspect Sen Obama’s campaign AND THE DNC will see blowback at the polls like they have never seen before in US history.

We need to pay attention. If we catch them (Obama, DNC) doing this, we need to expose this tactic for what it is.

Shed light on this- They must not be allowed to get away with this. If they do, this action may cause setback to women’s rights advancements made during the past quarter century… in US.Female Dem politicians who may be recruited in this effort need to know -in advance- that we will not accept this behavior from them and they will feel our impact when they run for re-election.The entire DNC will feel our impact at the polls if they do this.

The same wonderful people who brought you BS/BO have spent years inculcating the idea that Hillary is a bitch, Hillary is shrill, Hillary is negative and divisive and polarizing. Against that now widespread belief, she is in a very tough position. She can hardly be too classy. Look how Palin refers to her complaint about the media as a “whine.” It was a legitimate remark. Palin chooses to meet the criticism by ignoring it or fighting back. Hillary doesn’t really have that option, fighting will be taken as de facto evidence that she is indeed all of the above negatives. The power of a whispering campaign.

Comment by Susan | 2008-09-05 08:14:25

I think Bill should fake some kind of “chest pains” or something, and then Hillary can curtail her campaigning while he’s “ill”. Then they can both make some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show on TV. That way she doesn’t have to help get this loser elected, and at the same time she still covers her *ss in the party, thereby paving the way for a 2012 run. Let’s face it - no matter what she does or doesn’t do for Obama, these whiners will blame her if he’s not elected, while giving her no credit if he is!

I watched that interview as O’Reilly tried to get Obambi to admit that the surge had worked and that BO was wrong to have opposed it. Well, after much twisting and turning, BO admitted that the surge had been a wild success. But even after repeated batterings by O’Reilly, Obambi could not say “I was wrong.”

Am I the only one who was reminded of the current occupant of the WH?

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-09-05 08:53:20

Obama never admits he was wrong but just conviently changes his mind to suit himself. He has been doing nothing but pandering for votes, the media never holds him responsible.

Obama thinks he is above everyone and everything. This should have been clear to everyone after the Wright tapes surfaced and Obama was tripping all over himself trying to answer what he knew and what he was doing there for 20 years. He then came out with a pathetic speech where he should have apologized and dropped out of the race, he ended up lecturing the rest of us and throwing people under the bus. This was an affront.

Comment by Brooke | 2008-09-05 10:25:07

Her SURROGATES already have so done.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13129.html

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Sarah Palin found some unlikely allies Wednesday as leading academics and even former top aides to Hillary Rodham Clinton endorsed the Republican charge that John McCain’s running mate has been subject to a sexist double standard by the news media and Democrats.

Georgetown University professor Deborah Tannen, who has written best-selling books on gender differences, said she agrees with complaints that Palin skeptics — including prominent voices in the news media — have crossed a line by speculating about whether the Alaska governor is neglecting her family in pursuit of national office.

“What we’re dealing with now, there’s nothing subtle about it,” said Tannen. “We’re dealing with the assumption that child-rearing is the job of women and not men. Is it sexist? Yes.”

“There’s no way those questions would be asked of a male candidate,” said Howard Wolfson a former top strategist for Clinton’s presidential campaign.

The sexism charge was hurled with new intensity Wednesday afternoon by McCain surrogates, all women, at a news conference just hours before made her acceptance speech here - a speech in which she said this about the media and Washington elite: “I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

There’s more at the link.

That’s as close as she needs to get to the matter, really.

I know the Republicans are worried about having Hillary out there.

Comment by mimi | 2008-09-05 08:31:11

As long as Hillary stays focused on the issues, I have no problem with that because there are policy differences between her and Sarah and she’s entitled to point this out.

But I hope she and Bill stay engaged in their commitments.

Besides, it should be abundantly clear by now, that Hillary or Bill holds no sway with us.

I’ve made it clear that NOTHING they can say will persuade me to vote for 0bama.

It’s 0bama!

He’s the problem!

No one, especially a politician, dismisses me. He needs my vote. Not the other way around. And nothing in his past encourages faith that he will support my issues. So 0bama will have to:

WIN WITHOUT ME!

Be smart Hillary. Don’t waste your time with this loser.

Barack Obama said he would fire any of “his” people if they are helping fan the flames about the preganancy of the Republican Vice Presidential candidate’s 17 year old daughter. Families, so he says, are not fair game.

This remark arrived after the hurricane of sexual bigotry that was unleashed on America the day of Mccain’s introduction of Governor Sarah Palin to America. I won’t recap the shameful “journalism”, the smears and the innuendo here as we are all painfully well aware of what happened.

But I would like to point out that even before Palin made history and changed the political landscape with her powerful convention speech, the conclusion that many tried to force on voters was that Palin was a bad mother and therefore unfit for office.

Five days after Obama said families are off limits, Michelle Obama feels it necessary to tell us all that the Obama’s will not have anymore kids because the “presidential race is enough additional responsibility”.

The Obama campaign is telling us that Sarah Palin is unfit to run for VP because she has too many young children. The Obama campaign is afferming and endorsing the sexism that has polluted the MSM, the blogs and the rhetoric of the democratic primary.

This announcement tells America that the Obama campaign has nothing left to stand on, nothing left to offer the voters and that they are truly desperate.

More importantly, it also finally unmasks the true origins of the smears spread about Palin’s daughter, the disgusting lies about Palin’s newly born son and the appalling sexism Americans have had to endure over the last year as nothing more than Obama campaign talking points.

Now we just have to wait for Obama to say, “That is not the Michelle I knew”.

There is something else going on with that comment.

Don’t know what it is…

It’s a swipe at Palin for having five children AND running for office. Funny thing, Michelle only has two children and she’s not running for office…that just makes her LAZY.

Comment by Heather | 2008-09-05 11:12:25

Look at the Kennedy’s for goodness sakes! They reproduce like rabbits. Jack & Jackie only had two because he died before they could have move. In fact, they lost a third child (stillbirth or late miscarriage?) during his presidential campaign I believe.

The Obamas don’t exhibit the genuine love that Governor Palin’s family appears to have for one another. The way Michelle “My Belle” trashes him when the mood is right…the allegations about him and Larry Sinclair and Donald Young and maybe even Bill Ayers gettin’ it on. That marriage seems to have been one of political convenience for that con artist and Michelle is so bitter because she knows it.

Michelle just stepped in it and now her comment is fair game. What an idiot. Is this the best Barky has? Send Michelle to attack Palin? LMFAO! Barky is scared of Palin.

And you know what needs to be taken into consideration? Palin oldest child is a legal adult and headed off into the military. He won’t be around. Her second child is getting married and starting a life of her own. That means that realistically she is down to caring for three children. She and her husband are quite capable of that.

Michelle needs to go volunteer somewhere. Hey, how about simply going across town and volunteering with AA teen mothers?

After watching all of the humanitarian work Cindy McCain does, Michelle’s life looks pretty shallow indeed.

BTW, how many murders in Chicago this summer? 125? And the msm doesn’t even mention it.

Comment by bemused | 2008-09-05 08:58:29

Great idea! It is a constant disappointment to some medical people that AA mothers and new babies have more problems than they ought to (Hispanics do best, whites in the middle) with low birth weight, early labor, etc. One promising program simply pairs up young mothers with an experienced mother. It seems like social support and knowledgeable friends must be a boost to teen mothers, and what an easy thing that should be to provide.

Let’s face it…the younger women in our society have been raised with Roe vs. Wade and they are not the least bit concerned about what it took to get this for women.

The DNC only trots this out for we older women, as a tool to keep us quiet and submissive. It is a fact.

Have you EVER seen a Obama supporter say ANYTHING about the right to choose?? Hell no.

This issue ONLY comes up when they are looking for our votes. Transparent.

I am all set…I am voting for McCain and Palin and I feel OK about it…

Cindy McCain is pro choice and I think just like Laura Bush, she will discourage this from being a problem.

It’s our laissez faire culture and some very bad sex education in schools. I live in a very well educated district, but sex education still consists of telling kids about intercourse and childbirth. They do not mention the many wonderful sexual activities that can be alternatives to intercourse. Intercourse may be great for teen boys, but for women it’s an acquired taste and isn’t usually acquired until AFTER the teen years.

I’m no neanderthal, but I think our teen girls might actually appreciate having some kind of excuse to say “no”.

Obama is a gold-plated turd.

Trust the leadership of John McCain. Help Hillary to keep him honest. With him in the white house and Hillary in the Senate there is a chance for good legislation and REAL change.

With both Barack an Michelle there is just no “there” there. What have either of them done that really ever benefited anyone but themselves? I often think of a favorite quote by John Fletcher…”Deads, not words shall speak me.” Bill and Hillary, as well as John and Cindy have been letting their deeds do the talking for many years.

Of course it won’t be overturned.

This is the old “politics of fear” that Obama decried early in the campaign.

If this Republican campaign is anything to judge by, the Republican party has decided that offering authentic pro-life role models such as Gov. Palin is the way to go to discourage abortion.

Comment by Bitter Clinger | 2008-09-05 09:06:36

I agree. It is fear tactics by the Obamanation camp.
I am a life long republican. I used to be pro choice, until I got pregnant by my boyfriend. I was scared to death. I asked my sister to go with me to get an abortion. (THANK GOD FOR HER) She convinced me otherwise.
When I did tell my boyfriend he was so excited. We married a few months later and now we have a beautiful 3 yr old little girl who is full of life and loves her Daddy so much. They are 2 peas in a pod. My husband is a wonderful father.
he makes her breakfast every morning.

A day doesn’t go buy that I don’t think about the biggest mistake I could have ever made in my life.

I don’t agree with abortion, not because of faith . Because it’s about being a decent human being and taking responsibily for your actions.

Our challenges shape who we are and make us stronger.

My little girl was the greatest gift I ever got.

Comment by Ani | 2008-09-05 11:34:13

Most 22 year old women haven’t the faintest clue what is in store for them by endorsing the destructiveness of Obama and his sexist campaign. They think they are being cool by ‘dissing’ themselves because some of them have not been around long enough to realize that every action has consequences. ‘Bros before Hos’ — they’ve got to be kiddin’ me, right?

The message Obama has sent with his scare tactics and sexism will be played out for years to come if he is elected. And not to good effect.

The media also contributes to this encouraging women to dress with their crotches hanging out and dressing like Barbie dolls. Anyone is certainly free to dress anyway they want — but a message is being sent about what is important, and the messange ain’t independence.

The reason we are in so much trouble in this country is not because George Bush is a Republican, but because he is a lousy leader, an arrogant, petulant man who thinks God whispers in his ear. A man lacking in humility.

As a Republican I can safely say that George Bush has done more to tarnish the Republican brand than had Bill Clinton remained president for another eight years. Hopefully with McCain/Palin we are indeed seeing the GOP returning to a more populist path. It’s going to take years though to throw out the elites and self absorbed hacks that infest both parties. Those in Washington need to be reminded that they are the servants of the people, not the other way around.

The sad truth is that the Democrats allowed an incredible woman candidate of their party to be called a racist and to be the target of brutal sexist and hateful attacks against her as a human being. They did nothing to elevate women. In fact now they want to use her to elevate Obama who is not worthy of even being on the same stage as Hillary. While the dems were allowing the media and DNC leadership to trash a women the Republicans have lifted women up to the sky- with their speakers including Meg Whitman and of course Sarah Palin who is celebrated- not treated like s***. Obama and the Drive for Slavery Reparations

AIM Report | By Cliff Kincaid | April 21, 2008

One group, the African World Reparations and Repatriation Truth Commission, is demanding an astronomical $777 trillion.

Barack Obama is the most radical candidate ever to stand at the precipice of acquiring his party’s presidential nomination and the American presidency. It is apparent that he is a member of an international socialist movement which hopes to use the United Nations as a vehicle to shake down U.S. taxpayers for trillions of dollars in slavery reparations. One group, the African World Reparations and Repatriation Truth Commission, is demanding an astronomical $777 trillion.

In 2001, Obama’s Trinity United Church of Christ passed a resolution declaring that:

“WHEREAS: The institution of Slavery is internationally recognized as crime for which there is no statute of limitations, AND

WHEREAS: Uncompensated labor was demanded from enslaved Africans and their descendants for more than two centuries on U.S. soil; AND

WHEREAS: The principle that reparations is the appropriate remedy whenever government unjustly abrogates the rights of a domestic group or foreign people whose rights such government is obligated to protect or uphold has been internationally recognized…”

In that same year, Martha Biondi, Associate Professor of African American Studies and History at Northwestern University, notes that the United Nations World Conference Against Racism was held. It was the result of “a decade of advocacy and organizing at the U.N. Human Rights Commission” and work by the so-called December 12th Movement. The conference issued a “Declaration and Program of Action,” which held that “slavery and the slave trade” constituted a “crime against humanity” and that “Africans and people of African descent, Asians and people of Asian descent and indigenous peoples were victims of these acts and continue to be victims of their consequences.”

“The United Nations has emerged as an extraordinary stage for the reparations movement,” she says.

As President, Obama could take that stage.

Biondi adds that the reparations movement “offers an innovative and compelling way to move beyond inadequate and besieged civil rights discourses, to revive black-led global anticapitalist and anti-imperialist projects, and to radically intervene in the discourse of globalization.”

The conference, held in Durban, South Africa, was described by supporters as “a landmark in the struggle to eradicate all forms of racism….The World Conference is a unique opportunity to create a new world vision for the fight against racism in the twenty-first century.”

But the event was considered so extreme that the U.S. delegation, led by then-Secretary of State Colin Powell, walked out. A follow-up, known as Durban II, is planned for 2009. This “Durban Review Conference” would be funded through the U.N. regular budget, of which the U.S. is expected to pay 22 percent.

“Birth Defect”

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, whose name has been floated as a vice-presidential possibility for Senator John McCain, told a U.S. Senate committee in February that the State Department had not decided whether to attend the event. Later, however, Rice told the Washington Times that the U.S. still has trouble dealing with race because of a national “birth defect” that denied blacks the opportunities given to whites at the country’s founding. “That particular birth defect makes it hard for us to confront it, hard for us to talk about it, and hard for us to realize that it has continuing relevance for who we are today,” she said.

In this extraordinary interview, Rice, who had always been assumed to be a conservative in her view of racial issues, was quoted as saying, “Black Americans were a founding population. Africans and Europeans came here and founded this country together—Europeans by choice and Africans in chains. That’s not a very pretty reality of our founding.” The paper said that Rice told editors and reporters at The Washington Times that “descendants of slaves did not get much of a head start, and I think you continue to see some of the effects of that.”

Her comments could be used as justification for slavery reparations.

Meanwhile, on March 26, Florida became the sixth state in the nation to apologize for its role in slavery. The Tallahassee Herald-Tribune reported that Florida’s Republican Governor Charlie Crist commended lawmakers “for doing the right thing” and did not rule out considering reparations for Floridians whose ancestors were slaves.

Attacking The U.S.

Dr. Conrad W. Worrill, past national co-chair for the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (N‘COBRA) and “Minister of the Interior” of the Provisional Government / Republic of New Afrika (RNA), was a delegate to the United Nations World Conference Against Racism. The RNA seeks the creation of a black nation in the U.S. in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.

“Our strong African in America delegation, the Durban 400, lobbied for a major resolution on reparations in concert with the African Heads of State,” he says. “Under the leadership of the December 12th Movement and the National Black United Front, the Durban 400 successfully influenced the final conference resolution…”

He added, “We were successful in gathering 157,000 signatures from African people in America who agreed that the United States Government committed acts of genocide against us. We traveled to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland in May of 1997 and officially filed our genocide petitions, clearly pointing out that the vestiges of slavery, as it relates to the Prison Industrial Complex, validates the contemporary demands for reparations.” The petition was a “Declaration of Genocide by the United States Government Against the Black Population in the United States.”

The “Durban 400” was the name for the so-called African American NGO contingent to the World Conference Against Racism and was organized by the December 12th Movement and National Black United Front.

U.N. Testimony

In 1999, the U.N. Commission on Human Rights took testimony from N’COBRA and others on the subject. The account said that “The National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America said that people of African ancestry residing in the United States were experiencing harm as a result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade. The observer for the International Association against Torture stated that the trans-Atlantic slave trade had caused the displacement and deculturalization of millions of people. The observer for the African Americans in the United States of America specified that the lingering effects of plantation slavery had resulted in the disappearance of the original language, religion and culture, and that African Americans were still dying from the torment of the past owing to genetic alteration. The observer for Espacio Afroamericano highlighted the marginalization of and racial discrimination against the black communities in Latin America as a result of the slave trade.”

The account went on to say that, “The above organizations recommended that a forum for African Americans be established at United Nations Headquarters and a new working group established in Geneva to study conditions throughout the Diaspora. They also recommended that a special rapporteur be appointed to investigate the continuing racial discrimination and a team of experts be constituted to prepare a report of present conditions.

“In addition, the observer for the Black Reparations Com-mission recommended the holding of an international conference on the trans-Atlantic slave trade and its aftermath and the victims’ right to remedy and to seek United Nations intervention in the creation of national, regional and local political bodies to educate African American people on the principle of informed consent as it related to the political choices and options of a freed people.

“Additional recommendations included United Nations intervention to assist in the establishment of a national consultative assembly for African Americans in the United States of America and the establishment of a permanent committee on the inalienable rights of African American peoples which would report directly to the General Assembly, similar to the Committee on Palestinian rights.”

The campaign is a new version of an old communist tactic. Indeed, Worrill was photographed in the Final Call, the Nation of Islam newspaper of Louis Farrakhan, holding a copy of the document, “We charge Genocide,” which was presented to the U.N. in 1951 by the Civil Rights Congress, a communist-created and -controlled organization. The document alleged that the U.S. Government was systematically discriminating against and killing black people.

One of Barack Obama’s mentors, Frank Marshall Davis, was a member of the Communist Party USA and filled a young Obama, before he went off to college, with anti-American thoughts and ideas.

In her paper, “Formulating Reparations Litigation Through the Eyes of The Movement,” Professor Adjoa A. Aiyetoro, a legal consultant to the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations, offered a detailed argument in favor of using the courts to obtain the financial reparations. She represented the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) at the World Conference Against Racism and served as a leader of the African and African Descendant Caucus at the event.

Aiyetoro was involved in a filing before the U.S. Supreme Court arguing that affirmative action for blacks was a legitimate form of reparations.

The American Bar Association published an article, “The Legal Basis of the Claim for Slavery Reparations,” which maintained that the demand for reparations “is well founded in international law.” As a precedent, the author, a British lawyer named Anthony Gifford, cited the U.N. Security Council for passing a resolution “binding in international law” and “requiring Iraq to pay reparations for its invasion of Kuwait.”

Obama’s Other Mentor

Barack Obama’s pastor and mentor, the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright, was the keynote speaker at the 2007 annual conference of the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America. Wright’s talk, “A Call for Justice and Repair,” followed a statement in which he declared that “The Biblical principle of true repentance is that the offended party is given compensation to take up for that which has been stolen from them, the losses that have been inflicted upon them and their families.”

But Wright isn’t the only controversial member of Obama’s church. Dr. Iva Carruthers, who describes herself as an active member of the church, is an outspoken advocate of reparations for blacks and was a participant in N’COBRA’s 2004 conference.

Carruthers was identified, along with Wright, as a member of Obama’s African American Religious Leadership Committee. Wright has since been dropped from the group. But Carruthers is sometimes referred to as a spokesman for Wright and works with him closely.

Indeed, Carruthers may be even more controversial, especially on the issue of reparations. She wrote “The Church and Reparations- An African American Perspective,” which was reportedly “distributed by her denomination” at the 2001 U.N. World Conference Against Racism.

More Links

Not only are members of his church involved in the reparations movement, Obama is said to have been politically close to former Chicago Alderman Dorothy Jean Wright Tillman, who led an effort by the Chicago City Council to demand reparations for slavery. “Chicago has become the de facto center of the slavery reparations movement,” noted a journalist for the far-left paper In These Times.

The Obamas’ 2006 income tax return shows that they gave $22,500 to Trinity United Church of Christ, which they attended with such figures as Wright and Carruthers.

Despite going to the same church, however, Carruthers said that she has no idea as to where Obama stands on the controversy. “I don’t have any insight at all,” she said, before saying that she had to leave for another engagement.

Carruthers is the General Secretary of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, which includes Wright on its board and describes itself as a social justice organization. The website of the group includes a statement that “Dr. Wright represents the best among us, one of the best in this tribe of prophetic preachers. He has made his church a place where one could express the centuries-old pain of being Black in America, while finding strength for a brighter day. An attack on this man of the God is an attack on all those of the cloth who believe in the social Gospel of liberation.”

Illinois Slavery Commission

Both Wright and Carruthers were involved in the Illinois Transatlantic Slave Trade Commission, established by the Illinois state legislature in 2005. Its purpose was to examine the “past and present effects on African-Americans” of the slave trade and it issued a report in 2007. Wright was an “associate” of the commission while Carruthers was the “senior research consultant.”

Its findings included that Christopher Columbus was part of the Catholic Church’s “century of blood” in the establishment of the slave trade system, and that civil war U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, acknowledged to be “the most famous son of Illinois,” didn’t morally object to slavery but only wanted to “restore the Union to white consensus.”

In 2003, Carruthers spoke on behalf of Obama’s Trinity United Church of Christ at a “summit on reparations” opened by Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam. Another group represented at the Farakhan summit was the Republic of New Afrika. Farrakhan followed with an “international address” entitled, “Reparations: What does America and Europe Owe? What does Allah (God) promise?” Farrakhan spoke at an N’COBRA event.

In 2007, Carruthers endorsed a document urging that “Financial and human resources be identified and made available, in trust and otherwise, with appropriate church, community, and academic entities to effect institutional development and remedies from the Transatlantic slave trade system and colonialism at the local, national and global levels.” The document said that reparations should be “offered for the healing of peoples who were once enslaved.”

The “Motherland”

Like Obama, Carruthers and Wright have been deeply involved in African affairs. They traveled to the “motherland,” as they call it, where Wright was photographed in Ghana in “full ceremonial regalia” as a “development chief” and Carruthers was elevated to the position of “queen mother.” Obama’s wearing of African garb became a national controversy.

But the more important issue, from a public policy perspective, is how he would handle taxpayer dollars.

While Carruthers said she did not know where Obama stood on the issue of reparations, the Chicago Tribune reported that he was asked in 2004 about the matter and “spoke about how slavery had left a stain on the country that has yet to be eradicated.” Nevertheless, he said that he opposed “just signing checks over to African-Americans.”

During the presidential campaign, the issue came up during a Democratic presidential debate and only Dennis Kucinich said he favored reparations. Obama changed the subject, saying he favored more spending on schools.

Carruthers said that reparations have to include much more than financial payments. She may have in mind not only an apology from the federal government but some form of spiritual or psychological help for black victims of the slave trade.

In this regard, the N’COBRA conference that featured Wright also included a panel discussion of “Post-Traumatic Slavery Syndrome.” In a variation of this theme, the Philadelphia branch of N’COBRA had advertised a sold-out lecture on the subject of “Post-Traumatic Slavery Disorder (PTSD),” described as one of the Psycho-Racial Spiritual Diseases of Americanized Africans (PRSDAA). The speaker, a psychologist, said that black-on-black violence could be attributed to undiagnosed PRSDAAs.

The Clinton Role

While Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are now engaged in a fight for the Democratic presidential nomination, it was the Clinton Administration that helped to make reparations into a national issue. President Clinton had proposed a $10 million federal research program to study the problem of racism in America. It was described by the Associated Press as “a way to measure the impact of racial bias in everyday life” and was seen as potential backing for legislation proposed by Rep. John Conyers to establish a national commission to study the matter.

Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has endorsed Obama for president.

Conyers’ bill to create a “Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African Americans” was first introduced in 1989. He praised N’COBRA in a statement he issued in 1999 and sponsored a subsequent event, “Capitalizing on Our Strength Empowering the Reparations Movement,” featuring a representative of N’COBRA.

The issue became so big that the CBS Evening News, then hosted by Dan Rather, did a story about the controversy, highlighting the fact that the Chicago City Council had become the fourth major city to pass a resolution calling for reparations.

Randall Robinson, the director of the group known as Trans Africa, wrote a book, The Debt, on the subject, and hosted a conference on reparations featuring such luminaries as actor Danny Glover.

One thing is certain: Carruthers is hoping for an Obama win. Federal Election Commission records show that she gave his Illinois Senate campaign $500 and his presidential campaign $2,300.

Another thing is certain: The Hill newspaper reports that Conyers hopes to move his reparations commission bill when Obama is in the White House. The paper said, however, that Conyers “has not called on the senator to endorse his measure because ‘I don’t want to put him on the spot.’” The Hill said that Obama’s campaign “did not respond to requests for information about the senator’s position on the bill.”

DEAR FELLOW MEDIA WATCHDOG April-B, 2008

LET’S START WITH THE GOOD NEWS. AL-JAZEERA’S TOP U.S. JOURNAL-ist, Dave Marash, is leaving the channel, saying that anti-American bias at the network was a factor in his decision. This confirms our warnings and fears. As you recall, Accuracy in Media campaigned to keep Al-Jazeera English off American airwaves in 2006. We have been vindicated. Marash’s departure will make it even more difficult for the channel to get U.S. media access. In a Fox News debate with me prior to the channel’s launch, Marash had claimed Al-Jazeera English would be editorially autonomous and independent from the original and pro-terrorist Arabic Al-Jazeera, based in Doha, Qatar. But AIM produced a report citing evidence that key Al-Jazeera English personnel had come from Al-Jazeera Arabic. AIM also produced a DVD, “Terror Television,” documenting the channel’s pro-terrorist and anti-American bias, and commissioned a public opinion poll which found that most Americans didn’t want the channel to have access to the U.S. media market. In interviews after his departure, Marash confirmed that the English channel is under the firm control of the same people who control Al-Jazeera Arabic. Marash has seen the light, but we had warned all along that this would be the case. Thanks to you, AIM’s campaign had prevented Al-Jazeera from finding a major U.S. cable or satellite company willing to carry it. We tried from the beginning to expose Al-Jazeera English for what it is—an anti-American, Arab government-financed propaganda operation. Please send the enclosed postcard to Allan J. Block of Block Communications, one of the few U.S. outlets for Al-Jazeera English.

THE BAD NEWS IS OUT OF IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. MUSLIM MILITIA FORCES FOUGHT THE Iraqi security forces to a virtual standstill during conflict in Basra. There are also reports that about 1,000 Iraqi soldiers or police deserted. In Afghanistan, it’s become a no-win war, largely because our NATO “allies” have refused to fight.

THE BIG NEWS OUT OF THE RECENT NATO SUMMIT WAS THAT SOME EUROPEAN NATIONS
balked at accepting new members that would offend Russia. But the bigger story is that NATO’s war against the terrorists in Afghanistan is failing and it has no plan to win. Afghanistan could once again come under the control of those who sponsored 9/11. Afghanistan, of course, is where the 9/11 terrorists had their base of operations. The U.S. attacked Osama bin Laden and his Taliban backers, eliminating or driving them into hiding, but depended on NATO to finish the job. NATO has failed. France says it will send an additional 700-1,000 troops to Afghanistan, and that other nations may provide “smaller numbers.” Whatever that means, it’s not much. It’s certainly not enough to win.

AN INQUISITIVE JOURNALIST NAMED ANDREW GRAY OF REUTERS REPORTS THAT IT’S NOT exactly clear how many NATO troops are actually in Afghanistan, and that the organization sometimes “revises” the numbers dramatically. The NATO website doesn’t say exactly how many are supposed to be there, and which nations are contributing what numbers. In any case, Gray notes that U.S. Army Gen. McNeill, the NATO commander in Afghanistan, has suggested that “a force of well over 400,000 Afghan and foreign troops” is needed to fight the terrorists there. McNeil reports that “The Afghans say that they have 22,000 on the rolls of their army and 42,000 police. NATO has about 39,000 troops here, so that totals a good 100,000.” During a February 6 briefing at the Pentagon, the NATO force was put at “over 40,000.” It has been as high as 47,000. About 17,000 of those are American troops. Another 14,000 U.S. forces operate in Afghanistan independently of NATO.
AT THAT BRIEFING, McNEIL REPEATED THE THEORETICAL NEED FOR 400,000 TROOPS, BUT added, “Now, having said that, the members of the alliance are going to produce only so much. I accept that.” But should we accept it? This debacle appears to validate a Democratic point that the U.S. lost sight of the original terrorist problem in Afghanistan when it went to war in Iraq. But the Democratic presidential candidates, as well as Republican John McCain, make the situation worse by saying that they will somehow get NATO to send more troops to Afghanistan. They are claiming that they will succeed where President Bush has failed. One problem is that there are 15,000 NATO troops making sure that the new Muslim state of Kosovo has international protection when they should be fighting Muslim extremists in Afghanistan. Recognition of Kosovo is a policy embraced by Bush, Hillary, Obama and McCain.

NATO LEADERS DECLARED AT THE SUMMIT THAT “WE REITERATE THAT KFOR [THE NATO Kosovo Force] will remain in Kosovo on the basis of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1244 to ensure a safe and secure environment, including freedom of movement, for all people in Kosovo unless the Security Council decides otherwise.” But UNSCR 1244 recognized Serbian sovereignty over Kosovo. So when various NATO nations, including the U.S., recognized Kosovo statehood, that move was a violation of UNSCR 1244. The NATO debacles in Afghanistan and Kosovo demonstrate the great danger of relying on global alliances to accomplish U.S. military objectives. To make matters worse, at the Bucharest summit NATO invited Albania to join the organization, even though Albania is the source of the Kosovo problem. Albanian Muslims took over Kosovo through infiltration and immigration.

AS IF THE DEBACLES IN KOSOVO AND AFGHANISTAN AREN’T ENOUGH, NATO IS ALSO threatening to get more involved militarily in Darfur. NATO can’t win in Afghanistan but wants to get more involved in other areas of the world. It’s almost as if the organization is committed to so overextending itself that it will inevitably fail.

AT THIS CRITICAL POINT, WE NEED STRONG U.S. LEADERSHIP. INSTEAD, AS THIS AIM REPORT documents, Barack Obama is emerging as a potential mouthpiece for the slavery reparations movement at the U.N. Please send Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod the enclosed postcard about this. On the Republican side, Senator McCain never mentioned the need to preserve American sovereignty in his Los Angeles World Affairs Council speech. He could have reassured conservatives by stating his forthright opposition to Senate ratification of the U.N.’s Law of the Sea Treaty, which provides for international control over billions of dollars worth of oil, gas and minerals and undermines American claims to North Pole riches. But he chose not to. Instead, as the Washington Post put it, McCain promised “a collaborative foreign policy,” conducted in coordination with other nations. It looks like McCain is going for the liberal vote. Please send McCain campaign senior adviser Charles Black the enclosed postcard about this. The tragedy of McCain’s approach is that it comes from a man who served his country in uniform and risked his life on behalf of the U.S. McCain would have been a natural choice to lead a campaign for restoration of American sovereignty in foreign affairs. He could have been “The American President Americans have been waiting for,” as his TV ad claims. For reasons that remain largely a mystery, he has chosen to take the U.S. down the road of “global governance,” in which international agencies, institutions and alliances determine our fate as a nation. It is the same road the Democrats are on. With your help, we will provide a pro-American voice as the campaign moves forward.

What about the Irish, being starved by the English and forced into indentured servitude? Plus I lost my native language, Gaelic. I want my reparation.

If Obama gets elected, Hillary’s shot at the Presidency will be over (2016 is too long for her to wait). The possibility of a Clinton v Palin in 2012 would be too exciting. Hillary Clinton needs to stop Obama some way, but not destroy her relationship to her party.

Comment by Fuck you Barack Obama | 2008-09-05 07:46:07

Some way is PUMA. Hillary has to pretend to support Obama but PUMA can do what she can not.

Comment by Lark | 2008-09-05 08:33:30

Baloney. Pretending is not good for the soul. PUMA cannot do what Clinton can. It is Clinton’s responsibility to take the McCain/Palin example to heart and immediately joint PUMA. Immediately. She needs to see it as her fate and lot in her life. Start a new Party. The heck with the presidency. Sen. Clinton need, needs to join PUMA at once.

Clinton needs to have an ‘unexpected accident” to her foot in which she breaks her ankle just as Dianne Feinstein did and was unable to attend that farce of a DNC Convention in Denver.

If Clinton could have some sort of medical emergency happen to her, she can easily stay out of the obama traveling circus farce around the country.

Obviously, to keep as many of the democratic voting block happy towards her for the future, she ‘needs to appear’ to be cooperative about the party’s actyivities leading up to the nomination.

However, it would still be worthwhile for her to ‘invent a critical medical emergency’ in which she has to be bedridden …but who knows what?

Perhaps she needs to keep in the limelight at this time since there appears to be some serious lawsuit injunction issues about BHO being ‘unqualified to serve as President’ according to the Constitution Article II baserd on his having “dual loyalties and dual citizenships at some point in his lifetime.

The Constitution Article II does not allow for anyone to be “eligible to serve as President” if they have EVER BEEN a citizen of another country, or are still now, citizens of more than one country.

Comment by Kelvin Hearts PUMAs | 2008-09-05 10:33:23

Let me get this straight: You want Hillary to have some sort of accident so she can’t help Obama campaign due to injury? Are you serious?

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-09-05 11:22:22

Gee Kelvin, you’re “so smart” doncha know?

See, when things are put in quotes, they often have meanings OTHER THAN what they seem. Sometimes, they have the opposite meaning, and othertimes, they have a subtle meaning that’s more along the lines of making a excuse…sort of like how the girls pretend they have to “wash their hair” every time you ask them out, ya know?

But then, you have to be out of junior high to understand that particular nuance of the written word–or at least have the intelligence of someone at that stage in their life.

You’re forgiven, Kelvin. After all, we have to make allowances for you. You’re here, because you are frightened, as well you should be. We understand.

Taylor Marsh, meet a radio host [Taylor's impossible dream] with actual integrity — Steve Corbett. This recent quote from Mr. Corbet is the type of thing you were posting daily prior to June:

“A dozen packed stadium rallies won’t convince the voting bloc Obama needs to win that he is anything other than a spoiled, childish senator who wants more than anything to be crowned king…”

Your readership has fallen dramatically since your “enlightenment and conversion.” What do you think will happen to your blog after “The ONE” loses in November? Mr. Corbett will have his radio show and his integrity intact. You will be alone and much farther from your desperate goals.

After last night, can anyone deny that Cindy and John McCain are two great Americans. They have years of real service in their backgrounds. Cindy, as rich as she is, has given herself and her money to causes that have enhanced the lives of women and men all over the world. That is something I never knew until this campaign. She truly walks the walk. I have never doubted John McCain’s integrity. I come from a family that had two brothers in Vietnam at the same time. I know the sacrifices they made, and I know the courage and integrity of both my brothers.

I could no more avoid voting for McCain than I could avoid throwing Obama under the bus.

Obama is not mainstream, he is not.

The reason he has been so disciplined in what information he feeds to us, is because there is so much he wants to keep hidden.

It is a good bet that Repub’s have a basement full of stuff they will now begin to unpack, and they have the money to do it.

Because Obama turned away public funding, he will need to campaign and fund raise throughout the entire 60 days.

OK Rove…let’s see what you got.

Comment by JM08 | 2008-09-05 07:58:20

Unlike the bots on Kos, I can be fair and point out some strengths of Barak Hussein Obama.

Barak Hussein Obama does have a understanding of radical Islam that neither McCain or Palin have.

In his younger most impressionable years he was a muslim according to official school documents. He studied the Korans teachings in depth. He prayed to the Koran. Then after coming to America he had the benefit of having a spiritual advisor and father like figure for 20 years that taught him what the people that hated America thought. He has had the brain to pick of a unrepentent terrorist like William Ayers for many years while working and socializing with him. His own wife was able to expose to the thinking of people that are not proud of America.

John McCain spent his whole life fighting the enemies of America, but McCain never stopped to get close with the enemies and live and socialize among them.

When McCain was spending 5.5 years in a pow camp, I dont think McCain was able to learm much about radical islam like Obama had. McCain showed poor judgement when he turned down that offer to come homwe early from that pow camp. True he might have done it for honorable reasons, but just think all the time he wasted that he could have been learning from the likes of Rev Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers.

And just think about how Barak Hussein Obama is making history. Right after muslims attacked America on our own soil, we were worried about muslims being racially profiled and descrminated against, but not only have we moved past that, we have did a complete 180. When Geroge Bush was standing on the rubble of the aftermath of 9/11 saying that “america would be heard”…who would have ever guessed are next president would have been a former muslim, who will win the election over a one time muslim, who would have belonged to a church of 20 years that said “god damn america” and said that “americas chickens came home to roost”…

Barak Hussein Obama is truly a remarkable story.

How Hussein can be getting even 1% of the vote in America amazes me.

You have one man McCain who has done nothing but fight and suffer for the United States of America. And you have Hussein who has done nothing but surround himself and ally himself with anti american figures.

America should really look at themself in the mirror, and remember the priciples this country was founded, and what a disgrace it would be electing Hussein. It would be the ultiimate slap in the face to all the people who died defending and protecting America.

My opinion.

Like it or not, Hillary and Bill are not so much working for 0bama to become POTUS as they are trying to redeem their reputations in the AA community.

This may piss a lot of you off, but it’s the truth.

0bama has alienated them from their once loyal base. They have to appear to be support of his candidacy and let the election play out.

They are waiting as we all are, for the 527’s. 0bama has got to be knocked off his pedastal and Hillary and Bill can’t get their hands dirty with that.

That’s just the way it is people.

I’m glad that her office released a statement

Comment by OhVoter | 2008-09-05 08:35:39

I’m reserving judgement on this one. So far Hillary has done only what she must do to maintain her viability within the Party. Her speech at the convention never once endorsed Obama’s qualifications or readiness to be president. She endorsed him but did not vouch for him. Here only public statement about Palin was classy and subtle. She promised to campaign for Obama and the DNC will hold her to that promise. I will be anxious to hear what she has to say about Palin. If she sticks solely to the issues she disagrees with, then I cannot fault her. If she acquieces to the demands of Obama to become the attack dog and tear down Palin, then I will agree that she is going too far and is cowtowing to Obama and the DNC. However, I wouldn’t expect that of her.

Comment by socalannie | 2008-09-05 08:41:42

I agree with your point, but I think its sad that she feels she has to go to these lengths. Does she really think that if she took a low profile role in bo’s campaign, people would hold it against her 4 years from now? After the horrible way the dnc & bo campaign treated her?

I love Hil, but sometimes I think that her devotion to the Dem party is her Achilles heel.

Comment by mimi | 2008-09-05 09:11:11

The AA community will hold it against her. And given the way the right wing feels about her, she needs the AA base to win a national election.

Hillary and Bill are trying to refute the racist label so they must campaign to some extent.

It’s going to take 4 years of hard work on her part to get back in good with the AA commmunity.

NYS AAs are even threatening not to vote for her re-election to the Senate. Actually, as long as she has the devotion of the latino voting bloc as well as women voters and all the people upstate who have fallen in love with her, in NY she won’t need black voters. But that’s not the case nationally.

0bama knew what we he was doing by labeling them a racist. I hope some documentary filmmaker takes on the challenge of proving how the Clintons were maligned on that score.

There is currently an issue up in the air about BHO’s possible and probably dual citizenship ties
to Indonesia and Kenya in his young life and birth to a Kenyan citizen.

This dual loyalty condition that his citizenship has been exposed to means that he would not be eligible to serve as president of this nation, based on the Constitution Article II.

It’s not just an issue about a valid Birth Certificate about where he is/was born, but the fact
that when he was a child about 5-6 years old, he was adopted by an Indonesian citizen, Lolo Soetoro,
his mother’s second husband, and went to live in Indonesia with them. The adoption and his young
age according to some, made him an Indonesian citizen at that time around 1966-1967, when Indonesia was a police state and an adoption meant “becoming an Indonesian citizen”.

This issue, if so determined that BHO needs to “resign his nomination” and step out of the
GE race, then Clinton probably would be the one to be available, even if she does not get on the ballot.

If there is a problem with removing BHO’s name from the General Election ballot before this issue is resolved or resolved AFTER the GE, and he and Biden are no longer viable candidates and the Democratic ticket “wins the election”, probably the issue would go to the House of Representatives which currently has a majority of democrats. If not,
it could very well be that Nancy Pelosi becomes the next POTUS.

So it appears that at this point, Clinton, as a leader of the democratic party, needs to still
remain “en pointe” throughout this entire fantasmagoria of a choreography of unlimited delusions.

Comment by Dr. Bobbi Anne white | 2008-09-05 15:33:30

Now he is the friend of terrorists, anti-Americans, and racists. Even Hillary would have had a hard time against genuine war hero McCain. I continue to marvel at polls that show BO ahead or tied, when I know that common white people will never vote for him. They will come out in droves to keep him out of office. PERIOD. The Obamaniacs must be angry about Palin mainly because they now realize that Mac means to win and is not going to just lie down and “let history be made”!! The GOP never, never, never just hands over the election–not for any reason! Look, loony left, you’ve done your good deed and nominated a black candidate for Prez. But this man cannot win. This Philly voter will NOT forget his bullshit out of touch comments! I’m not alone either - there are many like me and many men as well.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep on saying it until Nov. PA will be RED this year!

I could not have said this better:

The reason we are in so much trouble in this country is not because George Bush is a Republican, but because he is a lousy leader, an arrogant, petulant man who thinks God whispers in his ear. A man lacking in humility. Barack has this is common with our current President.

Comment by It's Not Me | 2008-09-05 08:32:23

And to think…Hillary would have won PA EASILY! Now we’re going to lose the state? The Democratic Party elites are too stupid for words.

My own sister (56 years old…old enough to know better!), one of the most ardent “women Libbers” I have ever met, supported Obama! Now I find it difficult to even talk to her. IMCPO, she’s a traitor to our cause. It will be a looooooooooong time before I forgive her for this…if ever.

Did ya hear???? Fox news reports the BO campaign is now VERY concerned about the female vote and has asked HILLARY to go to FLORIDA@#$%^&*&^%$#@ to campaign for the freakin’ loser! They have also sent out a bunch of other females from the campaign to try to “win us over.” I say…….You snooze, you lose! Too little too late! You didn’t give a crap if you had our vote during the Primary because the “New Democratic Party”, according to Donna Brazile, has moved in a “NEW” direction. I agree! You have moved in a new direction alright….right off a damn cliff! I’m looking so forward to your crash and burn too. I-CAN’T-WAIT-TO-SEE-YOU-FALL.

Comment by OhVoter | 2008-09-05 08:41:31

Isn’t it amazing how the Obama campaign makes a very public media announcement about asking Hillary to go to FL to campaign? They want to make sure than she cannot refuse. Hillary is between a rock and a hard place. I am hoping she figures out a way to deal with all of this.

Comment by It's Not Me | 2008-09-05 09:09:50

JMO, but I think she’s being blackmailed by the DNC and BO campaign. She either caters to their every whim or they will not pay off her campaign debt and her political career will suffer. Chicago politics.

Comment by mimi | 2008-09-05 09:17:24

Hillary can campaign her heart out. She knows it won’t make any difference to us.

I’m not worried. Just like she couldn’t convince some of her donors, she won’t be able to convince us.

We know she’s being held hostage.

My advice, smile, nod politely, and then go into the voting booth and vote McCain/Palin.

Comment by PalinYeah | 2008-09-05 11:35:43

Hill is not going to talk about Palin because Palin isn’t the front runner. Besides, we have a race now to save our country from the Obamas. It’s no longer about issues.
Obama is putting Sebelious and Napolitano on the stump to convince women to vote for him. We saw how wretched they were toward Hillary in the primaries and we are hip to their BS.

What is up with these people in Iowa ? First they send BHO on his way in the primaries. Now I see they got BHO up by 15 against McCain in the latest poll.

I guess it doesnt matter too much. He will need alot more than Iowa to save him in Nov.

To show how freaking scared they are in Ohio, they removed an initiative from the November ballot that would have mandated 7 sick days for companies with 25+ employees … do you think they were expecting an HISTORICAL turnout of people with SKIN IN THIS GAME? Entrepreneurs every where were UP IN ARMS. Think the unions will let this die … think again.

I believe men are equally enthused about Gov. Palin.

Most Americans are interested in honest, candid leaders and I believe she and McCain hit the target - regardless of some areas in which I disagree. All of the men that I know are very supportive of the McCain/Palin ticket.

As far as the polls, there is no way to measure the “Bradley Factor” - the former mayor of LA that was to be elected Gov. handsdown. Most folks said one thing when asked and voted another when they entered the voting both.

I am confident that he majority of real, down to earth people will not vote for Yobama.

Rasmussen’s 3-day tracker today has Obama the arugula eater down to a 2-point lead (with leaners, 1-point without leaners) — a 3-point Obama drop since yesterday.

That’s with only one of the 3 days in the poll taken after Sarah’s speech slamming the two-faced community organizer witha messiah complex.

Just say keep the change to Obama Bin Biden — Mr. Smug and Mr. Plugs.

Comment by donnal | 2008-09-05 09:45:51

Perhaps real down to earth people will not have the chance to vote for him…as
He was served yesterday, as was the DNC on a suit in Philly on his real COLB, possible dual citizenship and other questions if he is qualified to be President. Serveral sites have more information, start with citizenwells.com.

Where is the mean/man stream media on this issue? Is this not more important than Gov. Palin’s husband’s 23 year old DUI?

Please check this out and post the information where you share your thoughts

Since the news media admitted that Sarah Palin’s speech drew a listening audience of over 37 million equallying Obama’s staged crap of a speech, was only shown by four networks. That is not mentioning how huge her numbers would have been had the networks fawned over her as they did Obama. I would love to know how much she would have beaten his ratings. I know the night of his “s–t speech (same ole, same ole) every channel even local channel affilitates had him on. They did not who Gov. Palin’s speech. The media needs a punch in the eye.

Is Palins’ speech on the Interent somewhere? Might be a good idea to get her speech in transcript and start passing it around the net,for all to read..A video on the utube would be better,,,But for the many that missed it,and are Computer geeks,Might be a good idea to spread the word..

Obama’s gonna have huge trouble with blue collar voters in PA and OH. Todd Palin is a blue collar guy. Sarah Palin has done blue collar jobs. And Obama and Biden think they can talk down to these people and promise them government benefits and therefore win their votes?

The panic and sexist attacks against Palin and her family are driven by their need to keep voters from getting to know the Palin family. They are going to try to tear them down and make them look dirty. I really hope it doesn’t work.

Comment by Brooke | 2008-09-05 11:15:49

I am glad to read this article, especially living in PA. I have become more confident than ever that he’s going to lose this state. I’m pretty confident he’ll lose the election anyway but not as confident as I am about losing Pennsylvania. I thought so from the get go, but as the General Election has gone on, I’ve seen more and more evidence and polling to support my theory. People have begun to see through him around here and the “bittergate” issue comes up all the time. And even if he ends up winning the election without PA, he’ll still be the first Democratic nominee to lose this state in 20 years. Kerry only won it by 2 points and Obama is worse than Kerry. BO can pimp out all of his Philly street money he wants, it won’t make a lick of difference. And his poll numbers continue to drop here.

Michelle’s Boot Camps For Radicals

——————————————————————————–

Investor’s Business Daily

Election ‘08: Democrats’ reintroduction of militant Michelle Obama in Denver was supposed to show her softer side. But it only highlighted a radical part of her resume: Public Allies.

Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. Obama plans to use the nonprofit group, which he features on his campaign Web site, as the model for a national service corps. He calls his Orwellian program, “Universal Voluntary Public Service.”

Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas. They plan to herd American youth into government-funded reeducation camps where they’ll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of “social change.”

Comment by PalinYeah | 2008-09-05 11:25:36

The Pundits need to report the news and stuff their OPINIONS where the sun don’t shine. Why aren’t they reporting that Obama and DNC was served a lawsuit yesterday concerning Obamas non citizenship and ineligible to be president.

DONNA BRAZILE: “This is part of what Donna says in her own special way to try to get us to unite: So let’s pick ourselves up and get back in the game. Respect Obama. Respect the fact that he won, and that no one does it by accident. As much as we all would have loved to see a woman in the Oval Office, it wasn’t Hillary’s time. Period.”

It was not Hillary’s time, this coming from Donna Brazile is such an insult to Hillary and her supporters. I pray that Obama loses, because it is not his time - inexperienced, disengenous and corrupt politician. And then IT WILL BE Donna Brazile’s TIME to be pushed out in disgrace and never to be seen again!

Comment by Brooke | 2008-09-05 12:58:34

No Donna, it’s not Obama’s TIME. It’s not his turn and he should have just waited his turn. It WAS Hillary’s time, you stupid good for nothing lunatic.

Donna also told us the DNC didn’t “need” us. Oh yes they do!!

Brazillenut is a whacko and I’ll be thinking of her words when I go into the voting booth. She said “Get on the train, it’s leaving” Well we have, we’ve gotten on the McCain Train.

Lou Dobbs has been a voice of reason in this election. He’s just wired “too skeptical” to buy into Obama’s fairy tale and thinks the Democrats have gone off the deep end.

FYI Lou is caricatured as an anti-immigrant loudmouth, but he’s significantly more nuanced and populist. For him its really about cheap foreign labor and cheap goods with no safety standards destroying the manufacturing base and the middle class. I don’t always agree with his analysis, but think his voice makes an important contribution.

Aside from the FACT that Hillary was going on to become the first woman president, but OBAMA CHOSE THE OLD DOG ON THE PORCH (BIDEN) INSTEAD OF HILLARY?

THIS alone shows lack of any good judgement.

And it shows Michelle Obama got her way, remember she told Obama “you pick that woman and I’m walking.” The seething jealousy of Michelle Angela Davis Obama. And I READ HER THESIS TOO. Good God, what a bunch of racist and illogical crap, if that is how she thinks then we’d be in BIG TROUBLE if Obama got in the white house. But he won’t, thanks to Hillary and Hillarites everywhere.

NOBAMA.

Let it rain McCain-Palin 2008.

Terrific article, Ani.

I must say, though, that I’m surprised anyone is waiting for Obumble to say anything of significance. He can’t talk about his record since he has none. He can’t talk about his accomplishments in the Senate since he hasn’t any. He can’t talk about his policy plans since he flip-flops at every turn and has no credibility.

Of course people are going to flock to McCain/Palin, they express themselves with an honesty and forthrightness that people respond to. Unlike Bumble who talks down to everyone.
