Longtime Alaskan National Guard Commander Lauds Sarah Palin’s Performance [Updates x2]
By SusanUnPC on September 6, 2008 at 12:30 PM in Qualifications, Sarah Palin
UPDATES: BELOW THE FOLD, I’ve added a longer video from Fox News that includes Greta’s interview last night with the current mayor of Wasilla, Alaska about who Sarah Palin really is. (The second update is Wikipedia’s entry about the town of Wasilla, Alaska, and a photograph of the city hall.)
…………….
I caught this interview of Major General Craig E. Campbell, a longtime National Guard commander, last night on Greta Van Susteran’s show, and am so glad that Andy sent me the YouTube video this morning. Major General Campbell provides a vivid description of what is truly entailed in a governor’s job as head of a statewide national guard unit — as well as how individual governors differ in how well they step up to the job — and especially of Sarah Palin’s intense interest and commitment to the unit that she commanded:
As Jennifer Rubin of Commentary magazine explains, the “commander of the national guard” talking point can seem, at first blush, a rather weak one, but this interview proves there is merit to mentioning this area of Gov. Palin’s experience:
I confess I thought the “head of the National Guard” argument was a weak one in defense of Sarah Palin. But this is actually a fairly illuminating interview [link goes to the video above] which explains what she did and how she did it. You actually learn something about Palin and how she operates.
This is one of those instances where the talking point sounds goofy on the surface, but actually has some merit.
Of note: Jennifer Rubin’s blog, Contentions, is excellent, and worth bookmarking.

UPDATE with Wikipedia entry on Wasilla, Alaska:

Check out the full description of the town and the surrounding region.

I didn’t care for Greta’s remark “we’ll be watching your Governor closely”. How about watching f–k f–e [EDITED BY ADMINISTRATOR] Obama a little closer…might find some disturbing revelations there.
[WATCH THE DESCRIPTIVE LANGUAGE. -- ADMINISTRATOR]
I am a Guardsman and I think we should be watching the Generals Campbell and Kacus more closely than the Governor. They are unethical and are the reason our Guard retention and recruiting level is the lowest in the U.S. They cater to their cronies and pass over the really great Guardsmen. They are neither moral or ethical.
I agree with The Phantom. They reward the “kiss-asses” and retaliate against “hard asses” who think for themselves because these Generals live in fear that these “hard asses” will outshine them which is what has corrupted many faucets of our government–no balls.
Joe hit the nail on the head. These Generals have received their promotions from kissing Sarah Palin’s ass. They are so threatened by a real leader that they run them off and the great Guardsmen of Alaska deserve better. They deserve a leader of integrity and courage.
I have been told by reliable sources that the parents of the Alaska Guardsman who suffered injustices by Generals kacass and Campbell are just about ready to spring their story. It will be given to the media and other sources of information all over the U.S. There wiil be explicit information about these unethical leaders and how Sarah Palin has allowed them to get away with their mismanagement of the Guard and how they covered for their cronies. This soldier will be VINDICATED!!
Good Story susan..
And what EXPERIENCE does community organizer Obama have..??
“And what EXPERIENCE does community organizer Obama have..??”
Hey buddy…………What to but an apartment building, cheap?
And free roaches and no heat to boot!
As the roaches could be a food source Rezko/Obama would charge extra for them.
Ah yes a nutritious protein source! Silly me!
That’s not really funny because a 3 year old boy was crushed to death by a shoddily built iron gate at one of those projects. He was killed while riding his tricycle.
Sorry… not but….buy
“And what EXPERIENCE does community organizer Obama have..??”
Obama has been able to see dead people since his cameo role in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense. This makes him exceptionally good at enlisting ex-cons to help him register dead people to vote in Cook County.
I miss the days when this blog focused on exposing Obama’s unfitness for the Presidency, and not lavishing praise on Republicans.
Again: Obama being profoundly untested and unready and a dangerous choice does not make McCain and Palin wonderfully worthy of our full support. It’s bad enough that I’ll be voting for McCain out of necessity. Please stop trying to convince me that I should be happy about it.
Especially since I will be do everything I can to replace McCain and Palin with Hillary and Whoever in 2012. How on earth do you plan to reconcile your support for Hillary in 2012 with all this gushing over McCain and Palin now? Especially since Palin may well be the GOP nominee against Hillary in four years?
Sometimes you have to make a stand!!
The choices are clear now.
You can either vote for a war hero who loves his country first or an Anti-American racist.
This blog is a patriots blog and defending America against enemies who would destroy it is our primary role.
Yes, and Hillary is out of the race, thanks to Obamasoretoro bullies and thugs. And I would welcome a race between Palin and Clinton in ‘12! Hillary would show her strengths and make her case to the American people and Sarah would do the same…..and be done with Chicago thug politics!
Amen.
The thought of two women going head to head at the top of their tickets for President of the United States gives me the chills (the good kind
Again- if that is the case, what do you plan to do in 2012, when Hillary runs against McCain and/or Palin, after you spent months in 2008 telling us how SuperPatriotic and Awesome McCain and Palin are?
I’m voting AGAINST Obama, not FOR McCain. If Hillary were the nominee, I would not give McCain a second glance. I wish this blog would focus on Obama’s negatives and not McCain’s positives, that’s all. We have to win an election in 2012, remember.
Yeah we get it already. How about a new shtick now?
FyBO:
How about changing your screen name a lttle bit, make it more subtle? (I agree with you but I don’t think it’s helpful to NQ…) Just a suggestion….
In other words, you have no answer except to stamp your foot and tell me to shut up.
You are the one who needs a “new shtick.” And some community college classes, perhaps.
John,
I hear what you are saying, how can we praise McCain? How could Kerry ever have thought of putting him on the ticket?
We all wanted Hillary, she is not our nominee. Obama is Bush III, not McCain.
Hillary will do great things in the senate in the next four years. As president, I know McCain will work with her. Obama, he will make her life h*ll.
If Hillary ever decides to run for POTUS again, she has my vote hands down. Obama, NEVER.
In the meantime, the reality for me is McCain 08. If I can find ways to make that decision more palatable, I will share them.
I will have zero problem supporting Hillary against Palin in 2012.
Saying that McCain/Palin are patriots who desire to serve this country will not NEED to be retracted or backpedaled on to run against them in 2012.
Hillary’s plans and policies are better, hands down. And I would support her loudly. The race would be between TWO patriots, one of whom is better on policy. I have no plans, in 2012, to tear down McCain or Palin’s character or intentions in order for Hill to win. I will not lay the grundwork THIS year for that type of campaign in 2012. And you know what? Neither would Hillary. She’d beat them on the issues.
This year, there is a well-meaning patriot running against a shyster corrupt pol who spouts Dem values he could give one shit about in reality.
Country first. In 2012, if we have two people running who both love this country, then I’d be thrilled.
Thank you, WMCB. I’m also dreaming of a civilized election in which the candidates are equally worthy of respect. I’d hoped we’d see Hillary vs. McCain this year; I have no doubt that they would have run model campaigns and done a lot to heal interparty divisiveness and hostility. They were certainly collegial with each other during the convention runup this year. Now Hillary will have to bash McCain to save her political life. I trust she won’t stoop to the O-hole’s level.
I think that we can’t help turning our enthusiasm toward the McCain-Palin ticket. We can still despise the O-hole, but we poison ourselves if we don’t have positive emotions to offset the negative ones. And thank heavens, the McCain-Palin ticket is worth getting enthused about. Imagine if the Repubs had run Jeb Bush and we had to choose between him and the Obamination!
John I vote on the merits!
I tried my hardest to see Hillary as the nominee and look what we got. We will see where the democrats are in 2012. I do not recognize them now and feel that they are not sufficiently patriotic or care to defend this country against our enemies.
I’m a free man now! I don’t carry the water for any party and I will vote for whomever will protect my family.
If McCain/Palin are successful well there you have it.
There is no guaranty that Hillary will run again especially after how the sexist pigs treated her.
The New democrats couldn’t give a rats ass about the Clinton’s or women.
I’ve moved on and am very hopeful about the New Republicans
Seattle Moss:
Your comment: “sufficiently patriotic” is currently an understatement. Just saw McCain/Palin speak in Colorado Springs, Colorado and it was reported that the DNC disrespectfully threw in/around a dumpster 12,000 American Flags (packed in 18 large, black, plastic garbage bags….apparent residual debris from their Denver Convention.
I do NOT want to even hear Obama’s excuse for this despicable outrage. After all, one of his dear friends and associates posed for a photo tramping on the American Flag. Accordingly, anti-American, unpatriotic activities and verbal slurs are usual fodder vs. this group. The DNC’s reputation is getting slimed! Really too bad!!!!
The Boy Scouts went dumpster diving to get the flags out. Since Obama and his anti-american minions have no use for the flag the Scouts asked if the McCain could use them. Hell yes they can use them, as a symbol of the lack of pride in being a citizen of the United States of America. Hey Bambi! Screw you and the
horseyou rode in on!So much for the GREEN CONVENTION, I guess!
Weren’t they nannying the crap out of that evolution, not allowing fried foods, skipping balloons because they aren’t easily recyclable, all that happy green crap?
How hard would it have been to put a big box in the foyer and ask people to deposit their flag in it if they didn’t want to take it home as a souvenier? Sheesh–it’s the simple, stupid things that get ‘em every time.
John,
I respect your thoughtful view.
SM
I think the nature of movements against a thing is that they make for unlikely allies and some of those non-Republicans who are against Obama want to do more than not support him, they want to defeat him. Accordingly, they have chosen to promote McCain/Palin. Others do not want their choice to be for the lesser of two evils.
I think it behooves PUMAs to be civil to each other, regardless of their choices about how to defeat Obama. Insulting those who do not want their anti-Obama sentiment to morph into a pro-McCain sentiment, by framing the debate as a Sophie’s choice, is to adopt the moral frame of reference of GW and the Obama campaign. Forcing people to choose against their principles can drive them to voting for Obama. Further, given the difficult moral quandry involved in being a Democrat choosing to vote Republican, PUMAs should empathize with Democrats for McCain, rather than slag them. I do not think John was slagging. I think John stated a point that needed to be raised.
John, instead browbeating the rest of us to do what you want to see done, why don’t YOU do what you want to see done? I mean, sheesh, you don’t think we beat up on Obama enough around here? That’s a new take.
John, I see understand what you’re saying. I’m voting against Obama and the DNC too. I just feel almost vindicated with Palin. For the simple fact that she took the wind out of Obama’s sails. and now he’s seeing how much he needs Hillary.
I think I’m just a little excited about this newcomer who is getting raked over the coals…when no one will do a damn thing about Obama. Sarah is becoming more popular than Obama, so it’s like “my friend is the enemy of my enemy” thing for me. Many people here have been fighting for women’s rights for so long, and will not turn their back on a woman being attacked the way Palin is. regardless of party.
I don’t think with all the excitement of Palin, that people will lose focus on keeping Obama out of office. Please try not to be discouraged that people are liking Sarah. it just makes people fight to keep Obama out of office all the more.
You are not the only one with long term concerns about this.
The Republican machine will definitely trot the support Clinton supporters had for Palin in 2008 against Clinton herself in 2012.
Palin is a poor candidate and only shows just how bad the others are.
Basically, is this excitement for Palin around simply because people are looking for something to be excited about?
By the way, correct me if I’m wrong, but she’s the only one that has ever had even a tiny amount of command experience, right?
I agree with you. Between Hill and Palin, the choice is clear. Nowm her right wing stance doesn’t seem to matter compared to the dislike I have for Obama but in 2012 we will have to make a case againt it.
Vote for Clinton in 2012.
Why is that so hard to understand?
Look, you’ve got three politicians here–one’s a steak dinner, the second one is a peanut butter sandwich, and the third is a soggy bowl of cheap cereal. We’ve been denied our steak dinner for now (and hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy it in four years), so we’re going to have to settle for the peanut butter sandwich–the soggy cereal can go into the disposal, it’s inedible. The peanut butter is nutritious, certainly, it’ll keep us alive, it’s just not as tasty as the steak.
Vote for peanut butter for now, and demand steak in four years!
“from enemies foreign or domestic”
Stand for something or fall for anything.
Go see “Traitor” with Don Cheedle. It is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
Obama scares me more than ever. I want to know what he has been doing since he came to the States and went to his first college. I cannot believe that our government either CIA or FBI hasn’t discovered any of the facts.
John:
I honestly think what you’re seeing is simply the fact that a group of like-minded people (in terms of desire for end result) are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. That light they see is McCain and Palin.
I’ve posted here before that I understand fully that in four years Centrist Republicans like me will be on the other side of the dividing line, but my hope is that with four years of McCain and Palin, the dividing line will be painted in ideas and issues and not the blood-letting of the last eight years. That way, even when the next cycle begins, we can somehow remember that we ARE all Americans who put Country First…that one time we had something in common and we will again once ‘12 is over.
So don’t take too much umbrage at the celebration happening right now. An earthquake destroyed a static political landscape on Wednesday night.
World Meet Destiny…Destiny Meet World.
Four years hence we WILL debate. But it will be a debate, not a war, and if we can somehow harken back to THIS TIME, it will be a glorious coronation of one great leader or another. And NEITHER side will need to go to sleep at night worrying about the future of the nation, because no matter whom assumes the Duties, American will move forward.
Take care,
Patrick
nicely said, Patrick.
I think the battle between HRC and McCain would most certainly have been on issues, not about guilt, risk, sexism…
it is truly a blessing we have McCain, and sheer brilliance of him chosing Governor Palin.
Candidate “Y” according to Bill Clinton: I don’t agree with them 100%, but I know they can deliver. And deliver on a promise to protect America and work for her.
That works for me!
I don’t recall seeing anyone “lavish” praise on Republicans. So recognizing Sarah Palin’s huge responsibility of managing the Alaska National Guard is lavish praise? She deserves it-I don’t care which party she belongs to.
Yes, and basically we are driven to this position over and over again, by the baseless smears that the LEFT (never thought I’d say this), yes the liberal left, continues to heap on her. Just as they did Hillary.
We seek fairness and balance. And the farther the DNC and the MSM spin away from balance, into this vortex of feverish woman hate they’ve created, the stronger the impulse is, on our side, to push back.
If they’d let up on Palin, for goodness’ sake, we wouldn’t be defending her so much.
If they’d let up on Palin, for goodness’ sake, we wouldn’t be defending her so much.
You got it exactly right–they create a situation where “defense” is required, simply out of decency…and then they whine because their opponent is getting the biggest bite out of the news cycle!
John:
I don’t think anyone here is trying to make us feel “happy” about the current situation. I know I am not. It is torturous to make a decision as to what to do THIS year and I think we are all trying to cope with the reality one way or another. It is VERY VERY TOUGH
for me. And at least from where I stand, come 2012 if HRC decides to run (and I pray she does) I know I will SUPPORT HILLARY CLINTON ALL THE WAY, NO DOUBT, NO QUESTION !!!!!!
I understand and respect what you’re saying. I’m more of an ind. than a dem. and I’m Hillary’s age. I supported for Hillary mostly because of her unparalleled experience and her universal healthcare plan. The only way I could vote for BO is an announcement that he will give full support to Hillary in passing and implementing her plan. BO has shown he’s a policy sailboat, tacking whichever way the wind blows, so my fantasy is not going to happen.
I don’t know if HRC will want to run again or not but at this point in my life as a feminist, it’s now or never. It’s more important to crash a stiletto heel through the presidential ceiling than to install a corrupt sailboat in the job just because he has a D beside his name. Sarah Palin has shown herself to be ethical and willing to live by the rule of law. She’ll do nicely.
WEll,Here’s something on that line. I posted on another thread, but this article in National Review deserves a read.
It’s called “Well Deserved Mockery.”
The author is not someone I usually agree with but this time Michelle Malkin hits the right notes.
It is 9/5/08 online . The article discusses Obama’s Community Organizing days and his ties to ACORN. One would hope that the MSM will finally get on these stories.
waiting……
http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=Y2UxY2FlMWZhMzFkYTE1MDQ3NjY3OWRhYmIwMjA3Y2Q=
Finally, Michelle Malkin is doing some good. Where are the rest of the media. We need a few more articles following an investigation of the “One”.
Because Malkin, historically, has been such a disgusting, pandering tool, it’s unlikely anything she says will gain much traction beyond perhaps a Talking Head appearance on the TV.
Someone with credibility will have to carry that banner–Malkin has none.
The issue of whether Sarah Palin, as Governor of Alaska, is unfit to be VP is a sexist one. She has had as much experience as at least a half dozen former Presidents, and she is more qualified than Obama. Many people are interested in fair media coverage for women politicians, since there are many disaffected progressives here. And highlighting Sarah Palin’s experience makes Obama look less qualified. When you examine her record, you are comparing her to him. The Obama camp raised the issue before they realized it weakened him.
No, questions about qualifications are never sexist.
It’s just those questions being put forward at the moment are sexist. A quick rule of thumb is to ask whether or not these same questions would have been posed if she had a penis.
John…
GROW UP.
That’s not an answer, and you know it. It’s a sputtering admission that my post touched a nerve and you don’t know how to respond. Others posting here responded very well, too bad you couldn’t just read those posts and refrain from typing anything.
Where did I gush?
I simply reported the facts.
If you read my post the other day, I disclosed that I still haven’t decided how I’m going to vote in November.
But that does NOT prevent me from defending Sarah Palin from the outrageous and disgusting attacks on her from the left during the past week. I am appalled by the press’s treatment of Sarah Palin. It’s just like the treatment of Hillary during the primaries — when the ONLY fair coverage of Hillary was, again, on Fox News.
It would be very edifying for you to listen to last night’s radio show by DCMediaGirl in which she described just how DIFFICULT it is to be a liberal woman at this time, but she feels compelled too to come to Sarah Palin’s defense.
Go to http://www.blogtalkradio.com/nqr — click on Friday night’s show.
Gushing is a bit strong here; I think what you’re seeing here is the old enemy of my enemy is my friend kind of thing; I do want as much AntiObie as possible, too.
I think I agree with you a bit, John.
But I think this is a reaction to the msm beating up on Sarah Palin. It reminds me of Hillary. And seeing Palin’s people support her is bittersweet for all of us and even slightly cathartic.
Also, many here have left the Democratic Party. I will be officially ‘Unaffiliated’ come Election Day. I want to cast my vote as a Democrat so they get they message.
But yes, it could be turned down a notch here. Time to go after 0bama.
John,
How’s this?
OBAMA AND HEALTH CARE
Obama states he supports single payer health care. But, Obama OPPOSED the single-payer bill HR676, sponsored by Congressmen Dennis Kucinich and John Conyers in 2006. http://www.beyondch ron.org/news/ index.php? itemid=5413# more )
Obama claims to oppose the introduction of single-payer national health insurance on the grounds that such a widely supported social-democratic change would lead to employment difficulties for workers in the private insurance industry. prorev. com/2007/ 05/few-things- to-forget- about-when.
Obama supporters states his plan is universal and just like Hillary’s plan. Let’s compare:
Both plans require that private insurers offer policies to everyone, regardless of medical history.
Both also allow people to buy into government-offered insurance instead.
Both plans seek to make insurance affordable to lower-income Americans.
However, Hillary’s plan is more explicit about affordability, promising to limit insurance costs as a percentage of family income. And, it also seems to include more funds for subsidies.
But the big difference is mandates:
Hillary’s plan requires that everyone have insurance; the Obama plan doesn’t.
Under Obama’s plan, healthy people would take their chances and not sign up until they develop medical problems, thereby, raising premiums for everyone else. So the Obama plan would leave more people uninsured than the Clinton plan and cost more.
nytimes.com/2008/02/04/opinion/04krugman.html
Obama is going to claim that he has just as much experience in controlling the military..
That would be the south side of chicago gangsta mob thugggery machine.
Obama wants to disarm America and replace it with his Civilian Army to take away our freedoms.
He already has- he’s told us again and again about his grandfather who was a great war hero, subtly suggesting that HE is a veteran by association.
Call it Toby Keith Patriotism- Keith’s dad was a firefighter who was severely injured in the line of duty, and this gives Keith, who has never served anyone or anything except himself and his own bank account, the right to wrap himself in the flag and call himself a Patriot.
Obama’s grandfather served his country, so Obama gets to claim Patriotism by Inheritance, I guess.
What’s great about being a community organizer is that you can take on the views of everyone you come in contact with. After awhile you begin to think that the ideas and experiences are your own.
I do not like Toby Keith. He’s arrogant and full of himself.
Glad you brought that up. There has been a very disturbing silence on Obama’s Civilian Army.
http://stuckon-stupid.com/2008/07/17/what-barack-obama-proposes-formation-of-civilian-army-equal-in-size-to-us-military/
the entire speech should still be available on youtube.
That clip sent shivers up my spine, I kid you not. And I thought Bush was Orwellian, damn!
“just as well-funded.”,,, I keep saying to the bots. Where do you want your taxes to increase to pay for this. Since our military now costs in the neighbourhood of 1/2 trillion dollars per year with a per capita cost of $1,348.45, Check link for per capita cost for your state.
http://www.statemaster.com/graph/mil_cos_of_the_mil_percap-military-cost-per-capita
What ever happened to the boy scouts.
Just googled “Obama Civilian Camps” many of the sites are no longer available. I have a friend that claims that if McCain is elected we will have a Theocracy. I have asked for proof.Has anyone heard of this talking point?
Maybe he already has a civilian army he has his eye on, mean-look Farrakhan suits.
I didn’t think that the “talking point” of Head of the National Guard” was weak even before seeing this interview. How much experience has Obama had leading a National Guard or any military force? How much experience has he had leading anyone??? Sarah Palin has leadership experience her whole life and exhibits excellent leadership qualities.
Not just leadership , but she, like Hillary actually gets things done. She went to her Unit in Kuwait, met them, found out what they needed and then got the bills passed to deliver what was needed.
That is what Obama does not do..
He never gets anything done. He has just words.
Yes…just words.
This is what pains me. All he’s ever run is his mouth. And it’s frustrating that his supporters persist in turning a blind eye to this.
This is why I so wanted Hillary. I’ve seen her in action. And in the Primary when the going got rough, she did Town Meeting after Town Meeting loaded with info and policy, statistics, historical perspective, Hillary was breathtaking.
And all of this was off script.
All 0bama did was read these pentacostal preacher type speeches from a teleprompter. Boy that got old fast with me. And that’s because he has no experience to speak about and is clearly a lazy study.
It’s clear that all of Hillary’s experiences prepared her to be POTUS. And what did the msm and 0bama and his supporters do? Demean it.
I can’t help but feel vindicated as they try to pull the same crap with Sarah and get shoved up the you-know-what. I loved seeing Newt tear that reporter a new one. When Bill tried to do that for Hillary, they not only called him a racist, but also said he had lost his knack for campaigning.
I’m so sick of 0bama and his Botheads, I’m living for Nov 4 so I can vote against him.
Hey, he did have a hand organizing ACORN and their bullies. Does that count?
Unlike either Senator Obama or Senator Biden Governor Palin understand the needs and mission of the National Guard both in the state in between states and in thier roll in defense of the nation over seas. She is their commander in chief.
She has made hard decisions that affect the lives of men and women and put them at risk.
The DNC ticket has no experience with soldiers other then Biden’s son who will be a military lawyer. (At least he is service and I applaud it)
Governor Palin’s exposure to the needs of our nation has been from the front lines.
OIL, MILITARY, CHILD CARE, SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS, EDUCATION, MINORITY CHALLENGES
Come on folks she get it. She isn’t perfect nobody is. Help her open the door for all of us.
This Biden son, is he the one in a pretty nasty lawsuit that makes daddy look bad?
I don’t question of Obama loves this Nation most people on the planet do. What I question is what he thinks he can do for it.
I do not like his vision and I suspect if it comes to fruition most of his supporters will wake up to find a world they cannot live in.
It is vital that we make our country ours again. Reasonable laws and sensible taxes.
Equal access to GOOD education is the civil rights struggle of our time.
Lets make it happen Ladies. Nobody takes care like a mom.
Why not question it? Its a legitimate question considering Obama attending and donated to a racist Anti-American church for 20 years. Not to mention he subjected his children to that harmful environment. And what about Ayers the terrorist? They have had a close relationship and Obama has lied about it. Do they still have a close relationship?
I thought the same. His associations make the questioning of his respect, never mind love, for the US questionable.
This is too funny…Barack Obama “Uh” Count
This interview is in response to the ignoramous Campbell Brown thing where she said that David Petraeus is the one who makes decisions about outfitting and deploying the Alaska National Guard. Now if I’d said something that stupid on national TV I don’t think I could get out there again. But I guess my parents raised me with some sense of shame.
Campbell, honey, those decisions are made in the Pentagon by the Army Chief of Staff, and yes, by CentCom Commander….Petraeus wasn’t CentCom Commander when Palin became governor of Alaska. As a matter of fact, a simple google search just showed me that he was just nominated in April of this year. Oh, and honey? It was a CNN link.
Campbell Brown knows no shame - at all.
When SNL did that hilarious spoof of her pretending to be journalist while salivating all over barky, Brown was completely unembarrassed.
There was absolutely no doubt that the mocked “journalist” was Campbell Brown. A journalist would have been humiliated. A journalist would have made sure all her future reporting could only be construed as unbiased in order to mend her shattered reputation and salvage her career.
But no, for Campbell Brown it was as if she was proud of her “star turn” on SNL - she liked the added attention and she stepped up the salivating and bias. And CNN has backed her up every step of the way.
So, it’s no wonder that CNN has censored all anti-obama and pro-Hillary, pro-McCain posts since the beginning of this election season. The Fourth Estate is long dead - it took its last breath early in the GW Bush residency. Its murderers are proud of what they have done.
Yes, I stopped posting at CNN easily 5 months ago after noting that my pro-Hillary posts were held in “monitor” purgatory — as punishment.
I’ve returned out of curiosity a few times just to read a number of the posts. My conclusion is that CNN is an Obama incestuous blog wasteland.
Me too. After the first couple, I never got one posted again.
CNN & NY Times censured my comments rather quickly during the primaries: no criticism (and mine was quite polite, compared to what the y were posting about HRC, believe me) of Obama was allowed. My comments were eternally “awaiting moderation” even when I just said: “hello”.
Campbell Brown says no bull no bias - right - when she starts asking the same questions of the Obama people she may have some credibility. Till then she is just touting the CNN line -All Hail Obama.
Everyone should send this video to Campbell Brown at CNN, as she didnt’t do her homework on the issue.
HAHA!!!
Hey, how do these people get jobs? Do they all fuck for these gigs? And I include the men in this.
What stupid journalist she is!
OT- watching Fox, anyway McCain is about to speak and they are passing out hundreds of American flags that supposedly were thrown out at the DNC Convention in Colorado.
Very bad PR for BO!
yep, those flags were found in the trash from the DNC convention.
Why can’t Dems ever get the flag thing right? It’s not rocket science.
Heather,
LOL!
I just ruined my keyboard.
Yes, Chavez did that in Venezuela a couple years back. He created an “urban armed militia” that answers only to him. Seems like there was minor coverage some time ago here of “urban militia” type activity here in inner cities. It was mostly framed as I recall to combat crime. But, I don’t recall the specifics. There is a large inherent danger here. Especially with the rift Obama is causing by his incessant use of “The Card”. I need not further delineate what that is. This man is patently dangerous for our nation.
You think that is scary. You have to listen to the praise being given by the Iranian Government.
We already know that Castro of Cuba, Gaddafi of Libya, Kim Jong of North Korea, Hama of Gaza and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela have publicly supported Obama. But wait until you listen to this interview. Go to the website below.
Iranian Political Science Professor Mohammad-Ali Fardnesh Slams McCain and Palin and Praises Obama.
The following was said on Iranian TV. The interview can be accessed on the website below. Following are a few excerpts.
“[McCain] doesn’t know anything, poor thing. He is terrible. Let me tell you, he’s awful,” stated Mohammad-Ali Fardanesh, a political at Shahid Behshti University, which is an Iranian state-funded school.
“McCain not only has no experience, but doesn’t even know where ‘abroad’ is. The poor guy is very absentminded,” he said.
“The flaw they see in Mr. Obama – which they don’t admit – is that he is highly educated and very eloquent. What does he speak so eloquently for?! Mr. McCain, who considers himself such an expert in international politics, still says ‘Czechoslovakia.’”
“Mr. Obama’s perspective is more clear. Only yesterday, they transferred control of the Al-Anbar province to the Iraqi government, on the first day of Ramadhan. This is something Mr. Obama has been saying. Mr. Obama has said several times: ‘Al-Qaeda operates in 80 countries, but we got ourselves entangled in Iraq. Our presence in Iraq is what led Al-Qaeda to begin operating there.’”
Asked about Biden, Fardanesh called him “a very respectable man. He has a good reputation, and he is respectable and healthy. He has been in the Senate for 36 years, since he was 29. They are more knowledgeable in foreign affairs.”

MEMRI is not a credible source. Their translations have been shown to be very … lacking … on a number of occasions.
MEMRI is credible and very valuable.
It’s a treasure trove of insight into the middle est that would be impossible to get anywhere else unless you knew Arabic
Well, they’re the ones who pointed out that the Farsi translations of Ahmadinejad’s “We don’t have gays in Iran” comments over here were NOT INCLUDED on his government website. POOF! He left it in the English translation, but stripped it out of the Farsi version completely.
Their translations are not the issue, really. They DO have a viewpoint and an agenda, and when you go to the site you should be aware of it. It doesn’t discount the site as a source–it is a useful window on the middle east and a decent research tool. If you’re only getting an excerpt of a document, it behooves you to get the entire thing if you suspect bias.
Geez, could these people be anymore stupid?
If they don’t want the US in their affairs of state, what makes them think we give a flying fuck what they think about our presidential election. Do they really believe they are helping 0bama? Can they be this dumb?
You’d think they’d know it would be a good idea to simply shut up.
Wow, that’s a great interview! Where can I get the transcript?
Obama’s Fundraiser Said Palin Is Putting Her Career Above Family
Would Obama's supporters have said this about a men?An original member of Barack Obama’s finance committee said Friday that Sarah Palin is putting her career above her family by accepting the nomination as John McCain’s running mate.
Howard Gutman made the argument on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” telling the radio host that the Palin should focus her energy on her unwed, pregnant teenage daughter.
“If my daughter had just come home at 17 years old and said, ‘Mom, Dad, I’m pregnant, we have a family problem,’ I wouldn’t say, ‘You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to take this private family problem … I’m going to go on the international stage and broadcast it to the world’,” he said.
Obama’s Democratic Party: Home of Sexism, Misogyny, Racism, and the Glass Ceiling for Women
well Sarah Palin didn’t choose to broadcast it to the world, the scummy National Enquirer did and then the Obama campaign started the filthy lies. More bullshit from them.
Why is it a problem? It’s been going on since time immemorial–need i say but for this I certainly would not be here. Not that it should matter to anyone but myself. Are all of the great one’s advisers this stupid?
Stupidity must also flow downhill in the OBAMA CABAL
Let’s start asking these male CEOs of Fortune 500 companies to step down when their kids get into any kind of challenging life experience.
Gutuman raised 500,000 for Obama - and Gutman was also lawyer for Ayers terrorists. He also has some position with the campaign regarding parenthood - amazing but true.
Thanks Pink Panther, I was just about to post this. The He-Man’s Women Haters Club continues.
I remember when nasty GOPers mocked Bill Clinton for saying that he had military command experience because he’d been governor of AR, and therefore CiC of the AR Nat’l Guard.
Way to reach out to those Clinton voters, team Obama. Mock a governor’s CiC experience.
Thank you for providing this, Susan!

Obama takes first hard hit at Palin
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13205.html
******************************************************
McCain is running for President representing the Republican Party.
Palin is running for Vice President representing the Republican Party.
Obama is running for President representing the Obama Democratic Party.
Therefore Obama is running against McCain for President, NOT Palin.
Does Obama know that he is running against McCain?
“We didn`t leave the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left us.”
You need to remind Obama of his $1,000,000 earmark to Michelle’s employer. They immediately raised her salary $200,000 per year. Doing the math, that would take 5 years for the Obama family to recoup that $1,000,000 earmark.
Is that the best he can do? Accuse her of being for the ‘bridge to nowhere’ before she was against it? Ha ha, that is ridiculous and laughable:
Obama was for public funding of election campaigns before he was against it.
He was for protecting privacy before he voted against it (with FISA).
He was for gun control before he praised the Supreme Court for limiting it in Washington DC.
He was against NAFTA until he let his economic advisor Goolsby tell Canadian officials he was actually for it.
He was against the Iraq surge until this week when he’s suddenly for it.
AND he is one of the biggest users of earmarks in Congress.
Obama and Biden voted for that bridge too…
Okay Heather,
That’s twice.
LMAO!!!
If you go to opensecrets.org and look at the category lobbyists and lawyers re political contributions you will see that 2/3rd for their money went to Obama. Now why would the lobbyist think that Obama was a better bet - don’t answer it is a self explaining question.
It is a sure sign of weakness, and desperation, when the presidential nominee of one party decides to run against the VICE-PRESIDENTIAL nominee of the other.
McCain/Palin should deride barky on the stump about this - mocking and laughing - we know how barky LOVES being mocked…
Barky’s melting….he’s melting…..
Sarahcuda she got it all beauty, experience, honesty and she listens as well as being able to give one hell of a racous speech. What a woman and now that they are trying to deploy Hillary to save Obama. God love her it’s way to late for that now. They finished her off. The thugs and punks that run the DNC now have turned it into a bunch of bunk. The Dnc is heamorrhaging women voters. We are lining up behind John Mccain and Sarah Palin. John Mccain took a huge gamble and it payed off big time. He may be older but sure as hell is much wiser than Obama. I trust Mccain/Palin to get the job done
A quote from “the One”. Note the phrasing… “you can’t just make stuff up.” No, nnly “The One” can create his own reality.
I firmly believe John McCain picked Sarah Palin out of respect of hillary clinton. if anyone noticed right before his announcement for VP, he put out the ad that ripped obama a new one about not choosing clinton for a running mate, he also said that Hillary clinton was a remarkable woman but they had different ideologies. *punch one* then he introduces Palin as litmus to show that hillary supporters were not lying when they said the media was running a sexism campaign and not only did it show their sexism, what they also showed their hypocrisy*punch two*. heck they are still attacking her. Connan O’Brian actually went on air and talked about Bristol’s vagina. Palin also put pressure on obama, because she is as inexperienced as he is, and a minority, yet she delivers in ways that obama never dreamed about, beside her he looks like the fake plastic individual that he really is. It’s like trying figure out if something is navy blue or black. Hold it against something you know is black and presto you can see the difference. *TKO* I truely think if Hillary had one the nomination or even been VP mccain would not have chosen Palin. That’s what you call sticking up for your friend.
Does Obama plan on arming his little civilian army? I can’t wait for that.
I don’t think Obama understand what he’s actually saying when he speaks. He just memorizes some script… If he doesn’t become President, he should go to Hollywood.
I want to encourage everyone to read the following article about how Palin eneded up running for Gov. t’s quite insightful; very good article !!

OBAMA WANTS A PRIVATE ARMY AT HIS DISPOSAL???? JUST WHO WOULD THIS ARMY CONSIST OF? JUST WHO WILL BE FUNDING IT? HOW MUCH POWER WILL THEY HAVE? FOLKS BETTER START ASKING THIS QUESTION REAL SOON BEFORE AMERICA TURNS INTO NAZI GERMANY. THIS IS THE SCARIEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD!!
Uncertainties for 2012:
Who will run…Hillary, McCain, Palin, Obama?
Who will emerge from the primary process?
Will we see any of these candidates again?
My decision must be made in November…and it will NOT be BO and JOE!!!!
Dis-loyal? No reality!
This is the premier attack Obama site IMO. I can always find something to get me going, so I disagree Larry and Susan are concentrating too much on McCain/Palin’s strengths. I think we know all too well what their weaknesses are. Besides this site is the only one I go to that has a lot of background info on Palin, which helps justify my vote. Other sites remind me of why I could never be a Repub, except to defeat Obama.
WHAT A TRAVESTY Sarah Palin gives this “ass kissing” rogue another star. Everyone knows the problem with the Guard is him. He forces true leaders out and surrounds himself with people who won’t outshine him. He can’t follow the leadership principles that he likes to hear himself quote because that would require utilizing the best in the Guard. The low numbers are due to his failings. I know all about him from experience. He should be investigated.
How right you are Elizabeth. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about it there is a corrupt State Government that ignores what goes on in the Guard. Campbell and Kacas can get away with murder. The Governor will look the other way on Campbell and turn her back on the good officers. She has been sold a bill of goods.
