More Credibility on the Commander-in-Chief Front
By Larry Johnson on September 6, 2008 at 3:50 PM in Current Affairs
Susan’s article featuring the video clip of the commanding General of the Alaska National Guard is bad news for Barack, who has never commanded anything. A buddy of mine suggested it would be an interesting contrast to show the video of Sarah Palin handling an M-4 in Kuwait vice the struggles the deceased terrorist Zarqawi had with a SAW (i.e., Squad Automatic Weapon). The terrorist did not have a clue about how to clear a jam when the SAW misfired.
I would have included a you tube clip of Obama but so far we have no imagery of Barack holding or shooting any weapon. Will he be tempted to have a Michael Dukakis in a tank moment if he decides to act like one of the bitter folks who like guns? Anyway, check out Sarah vs. Zarqawi:
She commands troops, shoots a gun, and demonstrates she knows how to hold and handle a weapon. Unlike Dick Cheney you could go hunting with this woman without having to worry about getting a face full of buckshot.
But this clip as well as the clip in Susan’s piece underscores the fact that she was forward with the troops long before Barack Obama. While Obama was focused on taking care of his presidential campaign Sarah Palin was focused on taking care of her troops. Doing rather than just talking. Now there’s some change I can believe in.

Blowback: Media Booed At McCain/Palin Rally in Wisconsin
http://patriotroom.com/?p=1700
Bill,
Thanks for the link. Let’s hope we see more of that public action against the sorry-ass media led by NBC and CNN.
Lets hope we can keep this fake outrage going long enough to give Sarah a chance to hide her lack of knowledge.
http://www.RacistsAgainstMisogyny.com
She’s more knowledgable than Barack Obama, that’s for sure. Barack Obama is the most unprepared, most unqualified major party candidate for president since Wendell Wilke.
Barack and his army of “community organizers” are going to kick McCain and Palin and all the rest of you backwards, ignorant, medievalist, theocratic Republican scumbags back and forth across the country on November 4th. It was easy for me to be polite and just laugh at you pissant assholes until this week. Listening to the sheer bile on display in St. Paul kind of changed my attitude. You are all scum, you threaten the future of our beloved country with your ignorance, and I cannot wait to listen to you all bitching and moaning in two months.
Think I’m blowing smoke? Enjoy:
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iyCjg56QEYy3r8Gz2X09TnpaWOMwD9317JU00
You are an anti-American POS Troll. Shut your flapping jib and find somewhere else to spread your textual excrement. The only difference between you and a POS is that we can’t flush your sorry arse.
Oh yeah, sure, Freddy, you’re going to cast your vote for a woman who is tied up to her eyeballs to a political party (the Alaska Independence Party) that openly hates America and wants to secede and form its own country — but it’s Obama supporters who are anti-American?
You’re so fucking stupid you don’t even deserve the vote. The GOP is laughing their asses off at you idiot PUMAs throwing away your vote and hoping they win so they can cut taxes on rich people (like me, btw) and steal the economic future of middle class people like you.
Fucking morons. You deserve the crappy future you’d have if intelligent people like me weren’t working our asses off (and donating the maximum amounts of money) to get Obama elected and save your future.
You’ll never know nearly enough about politics or economics to understand how completely, 100% true what I just wrote really is. You just go ahead and cast your vote for the “patriotic” Sarah Palin and her husband and their secret allies in the Christian militia movement, who actually, literally want to overthrow the U.S. government and end American democracy. And you tell yourself that it’s me who is anti-American.
So stupid. So ignorant. So clueless.
I say this assessment of yourself is dead on balls accurate. You have passed step one of “Obama Kool Aid Anonymous”.
So much for respectful debate. I’m a registered Democrat who was for Clinton. Shocked at the sexism in the media after the “pimping” statement by NBC and the “brush off” video and violent rap lyrics I began to have doubts. After seeing the image of Obama not saluting the flag and saying the Pledge of Allegiance, I gave up trying to rationalize his anti-American values and decided to vote for McCain. Not who I had wanted to vote for, but at least someone who cares for America. I hope you can clean up your language and accept the differences as a debate. Godspeed to you.
Any moron who decides how to vote in this election based one photograph of Obama not saluting the flag is a stupid, dumbass, ignorant Republican who isn’t worthy of debate. You’re a lost vote and a hopeless case who will just spend your whole life being bailed out by your betters, politically speaking.
Actually I was thinking of the photos of the flags in the garbage at the DNC, nice.
Excuse me, but do you have anything between your ears beside an empty space. Your lack of intellectual discourse is truly astonishing.
And btw, yes, I know I’m not being polite and respectful. That’s because for once I actually watched the Republican convention, so I know precisely how rude and condescending and ugly and insulting and content-free it really was. And so now, for the first time, I really feel genuine loathing for you people who could watch the same thing and actually enjoy it. You are everything that is wrong with American politics and culture today, and I mean that. You all cheered on a party that openly, sneeringly insulted “community organizers,” like actually getting out there and doing something for one’s neighbors is somehow wrong. As though “community organizing” isn’t exactly what Jesus of Nazereth did and believed in. So we have today’s dickhead GOP insulting the whole concept of helping one’s neighbors while sanctimoniously wrapping themselves in the mantle of Christ. What utter assholes you Republicans are. I cannot wait for the American people to tell to all to shove it on November 4th. If Jesus came back tomorrow and saw what you Republicans say and do in his name, he’d never stop throwing up.
Personal conduct is ones own signature on the check of life. You will have trouble depositing it, what can be done?
Everything in San Fransisco rolls down hill.
I really feel genuine loathing for you people who could watch the same thing and actually enjoy it.
Makes you foul?
I’m an Indie SF but
That is a big if, and you stand in judgment of the prophet Jesus?
Buddha laughed.
I stand in judgment of you, dude, and all the PUMAs, and I find your own judgment severely lacking. If Jesus came back then he actually would be God, so obviously I would have no way of imagining what or how he would think. However, given my primitive human ability to understand the written word, and given the fact that I’ve read the New Testament, in its entirety, several times over the course of my life, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that, in general, he’d approve more of the party that posits that loving and caring for one’s neighbors than the one that believes in doing nothing for the poor and making sure the richest among us got much, much richer.
But, yeah, Buddha laughed, I forget that at my peril. Imagine that — a PUMA with a brain. I’ll bet you won’t vote for McCain. And don’t dis San Francisco; it’s heaven on earth. For real. Anyone who sets foot here knows.
Do you people pay attention? That has been widely and thoroughly debunked. Get with the program.
It was the National Anthem being played, not The Pledge.
As someone who went to high school in Texas (the heart of Jesusland) and went to every single football game we had for four years as part of the marching band, I can tell you that not everybody puts their hands over their heart for the national anthem.
In the future, please educate yourself. We have enough stupid voters as it is.
http://snopes.com/politics/obama/anthem.asp
Keep calling people stupid. It just makes us feel great about voting for your candidate. Talk about educating yourself.
You aren’t going to vote for my candidate, we all know this, so no, I have no problem whatsoever calling you stupid. PUMAs in particular, in my experience, are pretty ill-informed citizens. And Republicans in general have significantly lower IQs than Democrats, so if some of you are former Democrats who’ve made the big switch to the God Party, then you’re just finding your own level.
It’s so funny, in such a tragic way. If you added up how much Democrats pay in taxes versus how much in government services we consume, and did the same for Republicans, you know what you’d see? A huge, tens-of-billions transfer of wealth from productive Democrats to broke-ass Republicans on the public dole.
So yeah, Strawberry, I do honestly think you’re stupid.
You sound so bitter. And you’re the one commenting on my comment. As where when I see your moniker, I usually just scroll on by. So who’s the stupid one? By the by. My husband is paying for my commercial pilot’s license for my birthday. It will add to my Poly Sci degree. I don’t have to work if I don’t want to. But no, I’m not giving up my 25 year membership in the Democratic party to the likes of you douchebags. I’m taking it back. You can’t make me vote for Barky and I’m laughing at you.
You’re gonna take back the party by voting for McCain, huh? That’ll show ‘em. Meanwhile:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/21/abortion.doctors.ap/index.html
American women, in a matter of days, will see their ability to get a safe, legal abortion diminish considerably in large parts of the country. This isn’t a future scare scenario — this is happening today. Already. And you cretins are going to vote for another Republican because Barack Obama didn’t wear a flag pin, or whatever idiotic, meaningless triviality catches your attention and gives you the public excuse you need to reject the guy you were going to reject anyway. And you’ll do it all in the name of feminism, or “combating sexism,” or whatever idiotic name you choose to put on a vote that will take women backward by a generation if it succeeds.
Please go read that article. And try to imagine why I feel sick at the idea of Democrats voting Republican in the name of women and HRC. What a sick joke.
Jeez, you are one sanctimonious piece of work. And you’re being even nastier and more personally insulting than usual–which is really saying something. I sense that you’re going into full-blown panic mode.
And why shouldn’t you? You may be obnoxious as all get out, but you’re smart enough to know that it all slipping away for your hero.
All. Slipping. Away.
Pfft. You think I care about changing the minds of you backward, bitter troglodytes?
You misunderstand me. I have no other goal here, but to make you understand just how truly MORONIC I find you people to be.
In fact I am GLAD you don’t agree with me. When people like you all, who posess such unmistakeable intellectual deficience, start agreeing with me? I know I’ve turned a wrong corner somewhere.
No, no. I have no interest in getting you lot to “vote for my candidate”. I just want to expose you for the fools you are.
It just means you’re not gifted enough to convince others to see your side of an argument. So you resort to insulting people because you are inferior.
That…doesn’t even make sense.
As someone who values intelligence and who likes to educate myself thoroughly before making decisions/supporting candidates, I’m thoroughly appalled at the amount of outright falsehoods, rumors and misinformation that are spouted as “truth” on this site.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone back up a claim on this site using an actual source. Like..newspaper articles from accredited news organizations.
Opinion blogs, email chain letters, forums, stump speeches–these are the things that pass for sources on this site.
If I attempted to write a paper using those sources, I’d be laughed out of my university. How on this planet do you all think they’re good enough to inform you voting positions?
I don’t understand it, and I don’t want to. That would be lowering myself.
And I certainly don’t want to “convince others” who make such important, life-changing decisions using such sorry standards.
I would laugh at your reasons for voting for McCain if it wasn’t so pathetic. Obama did not brush Hillary off his shoulders…look at the tap and listen to his words, once again. The image of him not saluting the flag is just that, an image. the pledge of allegiance? He said it, you just refuse to see anything but one blurb on fox news. but then again, the idiots in this country like you, with so much depth to your thinking, no wonder we are where we are. its almost a crime.
No thanks Barky makes me want to vomit. PS the video of Barky brushing off Hillary was just posted here a couple of days ago, again. It’s is obvious what he was doing. Please do the world a favour and get your tubes tied.
Nancy,
How about a few of these reasons for not voting for Obama:
1. UNDIVIDED JERUSALEM AS ISRAEL’S CAPITAL: In a speech before AIPAC Obama said, “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.” Soon after Obama said that he “tried to correct the interpretation” of that statement. He switched his position saying that “it’s going to be up to the parties to negotiate a range of these issues and Jerusalem will be part of those negotiations.”
HILLARY AND MCCAIN/PALIN SUPPORT AN UNDIVIDED JERUSALEM. OBAMA HAS FLIP-FLOPPED.
2. PUBLIC FINANCING: Barack Obama answered a Midwest Democracy Network questionnaire in September 2007 saying that, “If I am the Democratic nominee, I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election.” Obama ended up following the money and opted out of public financing for the general election.
HILLARY AND MCCAIN/PALIN SUPPORT PUBLIC FINANCING. OBAMA FLIP-FLOPPED AND IS NOW AGAINST PUBLIC FINANCING.
3. IRANIAN REVOLUTIONARY GUARD: Obama’s campaign has said more recently that the Senator “has consistently urged that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard be labeled what it is: a terrorist organization.” But before this Obama spent months campaigning on his opposition to and his vote against the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment which did just that. (HILLARY SIGNED THE KYL-LIEBERMAN AMENDMENT.)
HILLARY AND MCCAIN SUPPORTED LABELING THE GUARD AS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. OBAMA VOTED AGAINST THE BILL WHICH LABEL THE IRANIAN REVOLUTIONARY GUARD A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.
4. TERRI SCHIAVO: In March 2005, just weeks before Terri Schiavo died from a painful 14-day starvation and dehydration death, the Republican Congress approved legislation transferring the case from state courts to federal courts, delaying her death. When her brain was later autopsied, there was almost NO brain tissue left.
“An exhaustive autopsy found that Terri Schiavo’s brain had withered to half the normal size since her collapse in 1990 and that no treatment could have remotely improved her condition” http://www.nytimes. com/2005/ 06/16/national/ 16schiavo.
But Obama voted along with the Republican Congress, along with pro-life Democrats, to have a court intervene rather than have her husband make a decision regarding her life.
During an April 2007 debate Obama said: “I think professionally the biggest mistake that I made was when I first arrived in the Senate. There was a debate about Terri Schiavo, and a lot of us, including me, left the Senate with a bill that allowed Congress to intrude where it shouldn’t have.”
During a February 2008 debate Obama was asked name a regret and he said he would like to take back his vote authorizing Congress to intervene to save the life of the brain-injured Florida woman Terri Schiavo.
HILLARY AND MCCAIN VOTED AGAINST THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS IN MARCH 2005, WHILE OBAMA SUPPORTED THEM.
DO YOU SEE A PATTERN HERE NANCY?
AND, THERE’S MORE TO COME. . . .
Hi George Clooney! Thanks for stopping by.
“The epic nomination battle between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton helped put millions more Democrats on the voter rolls”
C’mon what a joke! you are a joke shiftflary! Do you want to scare us with this pro_neurotic_odrama shit? Go home guy and cry! By the way you seem to be a little bit… bitter.
I am bitter at what the Republican Party has done to our public discourse in the past generation, and thankful that every year these days, fewer of them hold elective office.
But yeah, the Obama/Clinton duel got an enormous number of new Democrats registered, which vastly increases the pool of potential Obama voters. And right now, every day, a vast army of Democratic activists — call them community organizers if you want to — are out there registering more Democrats, finding more Obama votes, teaching htem how to vote early so we can concentrate our money more intensely on still more voters on Election Day. If you actually had any clue how much bigger the Democratic get-out-the-vote operation is this year than the Republican, you would feel a sudden sense of foreboding about McCain’s chances this fall. But you don’t. You’re PUMAs. You don’t know or care about anything that’s actually relevant.
Obama is in a tough race, which is significant, given that the McCain campaign have so many well-deserved, Bush presidency, Republican negatives to overcome.
It is a testament to the stark inadequacies of Obama as a presidential candidate, and his campaign, that he is effectively tied in the polls with McCain (Zogby today).
Were it an average economy and were there no Iraq war, Obama would make McGovern’s performance look good.
Thanks for blowing that smoke up our asses.
But now we know that Obamabots are too damned dumb to even give us a good Reach Around when doing so, and a Rusty Trombone is WAAAAY above Obamabot pay grade!
Vnde ars in tine naso!
You can dress up a militant in community organizers clothing, we still now they are militants.
sfhillary adds nothing to this forum but hate. This is spam. This troll is not worth responding to any longer . Ignore it in the future.
Please hold Obama accountable. We know what Palin is doing as a Governor what is Obama doing as a Senator?
The unemployment rate in Chicago was 7.5 % as of August 21st, 2008
http://www.suntimes.com/business/1120134,localjobs082108.article
What is Obama doing about un-employment in Chicago ?
Nothing. Period.
Campaigning.
What? Should he be “organizing communities”? We all know how ridiculous and pointless THAT is!
Um, unemployment has been on the rise nationally (6.1% this month!). Particularly in those cities with large base of blue-collar jobs…like Chicago.
Seems like I”m not the only person who is sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Here is a real headliner:
There were nearly twice as many gun shot deaths in Chicago , IL this summer of 2008 than in Iraq during the same time frame. see link for details
http://cbs2chicago.com/local/chicago.summer.shootings.2.810166.html
Guess how many total gun shot deaths in Chicago in the last 5 years. What kind of war is Obama not winning in Chicago ? : “Why is Obama allowing so many young die from inter-city wars in Chicago ?”
Oh so nice.
If only wish Bill Dupray would speak his mind and say what he really means.
I loved this Right on. WOOT!! WOOT!!!!!
Maybe we should get a group of people like this at every McCain/Palin campaign stop.
But Barky thinks he is President already.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2008/09/06/obama-tells-indianans-hes-already-president
We’ve got pictures of him driving a bumper car. Sort of a tank right?
It’s the perfect vehicle for him, takes no experience or training, only goes 5 mph, spins in circles, gets knocked backwards by all the other cars–yep, you should post it.
I think her birthday is the same day as Lincoln …Feb 12….she is Babraham Lincoln!
11 February.
So I wandered over to Sarah’s Wikipedia page to check her birthday. I was there within minutes of her nomination. There was very little there. VERY little. There was enough to convince me of her character but precious little more.
However something caught my eye that day as I read the article: Sarah’s picture.
It was a collage of six pictures of Hulk Hogan.
I sounded the alert and within minutes the original picture had been restored. However all mention, history, etc of the vandalised image as well as mentions on the talk page have been removed.
Do you not find this strange? I do. I’ve long seen Obama trolls control Wikipedia. And this is yet another indication.
Still don’t believe me? Then take a deep breath and check the history of the page. You will see it took quite a while that first day to keep the page locked! Registered Wikipedians came back time and again, unlocked the page, and vandalised it again!
Still don’t believe me? Then take another deep breath and visit the talk page. It is currently 652 kilobytes long.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sarah_Palin
But believe me: you really don’t want to read what’s written there.
I think it’s a very accurate picture of what the Obama people are about.
Thanks to the very FISA legislation that Obama voted for, the Gummint can monitor their asses and, under a McCain Administration, declare them Enemy Combatants and send them down to Gitmo to keep the Iguanas company for a few years.
Yep. They’ll learn the Arabic for, “NEW FISH!”, and, “You be MY sweetheart now, Infidel!”
PS. By way of comparison Hillary’s talk page is only 37 kilobytes and Obama’s talk page is only 60 kilobytes. And they’ve been in the limelight a long time.
And John McCain’s talk page is 210 kilobytes. I think it’s fairly obvious who controls Wikipedia. The question is what can we do about it?
Create a wikipedia account ( clickable link on the top right corner of the wiki page) and do some research.
An easy entree into wikipedia editing is to find where the wiki article says, “This article needs additional citations for verification,” find the references, and edit the citation into the article and/or the footnotes.
Right now Palin’s wiki entry has 124 footnotes. Somebody’s working their butts off.
Great investment oppurtunity.
The Republican party is completly united behind McCain, ecspecially with the addition of Palin. He will get 90% of the republican vote.
Obama has 3 groups of democrats who will not vote for him regardless of what happens here on out .. 1. Angry Hillary supporters. 2. People who wont vote for a black and/or muslim guy for president. (Yes they do exist in the democratic party, it might not show up in polls, but that explains the phenomeon of the bradley effect) 3. Veterans.
Obama will get around 70% of democratic vote. Granted there is more dems than repubs, but still not nearly enough more to fully ofset that 20% gap.
Which means Obama would have to win independents, like he wins blacks 95/5. and that is not going to happen. He is running 50/50 now. Even if he won them 60/40 it which would be his very best best case scenarion, still it would all add up to a 5-6 pt win for McCain in the general election.
I have not studied the race state by state to a great extent, so I cant really comment on the final electorial college count, but everyone agress if a candidate wins by 5-6 % , there is no way the would lose the electorial college vote.
So my conclusion is that Obama cant win because of basic mathmatics.
Now this does not even take into account Rezko, Ayers, Whitey tapes etc. All of which could be extremly damaging scandals.
My advice take your money to intrade.com and put it on McCain. The messiahs followers are betting heavy on him so you can still get great value on McCain …
I agree with you on everything except the “racist” dems.
This is the anti skinhead party.
jmo8…
the only way that the bobo can win in the GE is by stealth, theft, voter abuse, vote manipulation, threats from his chi-politico-mob ties, the media doing it’s job and telling the truth that they know about him, etc…..
oh and did i mention…no caucuses to game in the GE.
his race card antics are finished, and now hold no power. this little boy cried wolf too many times. no on is listening anymore. good luck with that, barack.
he’s outclassed at every turn by the McCain/Palin ticket.
looking forward to nov 5 to do the happy dance on the grave of the DNC/”new” democratic party.
McCain/Palin ticket can not be beat.
Your observations about the tactics available to Obama for Election Day are factual- and worrisome.
One other thing I still don’t understand- and perhaps we’ll start to see it change in the next 10 days or so- is how Obama is still tying McCain in the polls. At the same time- the polls have been pretty wild during the promary season- but still- the last several months show them neck and neck.
Are half the electorate that bamboozled? Seriously.
Perhaps true. But never underestimate your enemy.
This is what the enemy will attempt. Let’s hope the good guys are ready for it. Rove is shrewd and could cross the line but Axelrod veritably revels in being evil. Be prepared and never underestimate them.
I have seen posts to that effect of registering felons who are not eligible(some are and can according to their state’s laws) others registering foreign nationals,I swear and also becoming election monitors and judges. Huge effort in their grass roots to do that. I really think someone needs to consider foreign election observers again. Sad.
I’m a Vietnam vet who’s definitely voting for Barack Obama.
I don’t like McCain’s voting record on veterans’ benefits and don’t like his voting record on bills in support of active duty military personnel. Both run completely contrary to the pro-vet/pro-troop image he likes to project. If you don’t believe me, check for yourself. McCain’s voting history is a matter of public record. Most recently he strongly opposed the 2008 GI Bill. (Don’t bother looking up his vote on that one, however. It’s an election year, so he skipped voting.)
Like we used to say, He can talk the talk, but he doesn’t walk the walk.
All Americans can vote who they want to vote for…I would suspect though that when ALL of the truth comes out about Obama the majority of Vets and Americans will be voting for McCain because he is a true leader and we all know he loves America, with Obama that is a real question
Well IndianaDem, you certainly have my respect for serving from one parent who is serving now . He, however, has already told me that in no uncertain terms will he pull the lever for Obama. I work beside an American Legion and know the guys there pretty well. None of them are voting for Obama either and they are mostly Nam vets.
IndianaDem, you gotta be kidding. Tell us about your ‘walk’ in the service, and how brave you were and how much you endured. To say that McCain hasn’t walked the walk is insulting to all veterans.
I’m talking about McCain’s voting record on Veterans’ benefits and active duty troops, not about his own military experience. Nobody questions McCain’s own exceptional military service record.
Given John’s service record, I find his voting record a very hard thing to understand. But it is what it is.
BTW, we ought not question any war vet’s record without knowing what they might have gone through. McCain’s recent observation about war is one of the most honest things I’ve ever heard a politician say.
I agree with McCain’s vote on the ‘08 GI Bill.
Vets with 2 years of active duty should not receive the same benefit that a 20 year plus vet gets.
Lifers and those with many years of active duty should receive more benefit than newbies.
This bill was unfair to longtime vets, and was way overboard in cost to the taxpayer.
McCain was absolutely right to vote NO on this bill. McCain the Maverick looking out for the public, and taxpayer interest.
20-year plus vets do get more. They get retirement pensions and medical care.
The GI Bill was originally intended to assist short-term war vets to pick up their lives as civilians. If you’re a young person who’s given 3 to 5 years service during wartime, you’ll probably need some help to compete with those who stayed home their pursuing educations and careers.
Hey, if the taxpayers can be conned into paying $10 billion a month for the damn war, they can surely bear providing a little something beyond a “thank you” to the young men and women who fought in it. Money spent for education has lasting benefits for everybody.
McCain didn’t vote NO, by the way. He just argued strongly against it, then skipped the vote.
He’s also opposed increased funding for veterans’ medical care on a number of occasions.
Huh?
This is complete bullshit. Just because McCain doesn’t vote for every pork-laden veteran’s bill doesn’t mean he’s “anti-veteran”. The bill he voted against was ridiculously expensive and he should have voted against it. Somehow I think that a guy who served in the miltary for many years and who endured being a POW is going to be more understanding of veterans’ needs than a guy who’s never put on a uniform and who voted, more than once, to cut off funding for our troops in the field.
The spin – McCain dose not support vet.
The facts: McCain said he did not support the Webb GI bill because it gave 4 years of college tuition after 3 years of service. He said he was concerned that it would be an incentive for people to leave the military sooner than they otherwise would. McCain & Lindsey Graham introduced a competing Bill – it would have a sliding scale of benefits and full benefits to only those having served for six years. Bush added to that Bill the ability to transfer benefits from spouses and dependants – McCain SUPPORTED that bill which would now allowed for transfering the beneifit to parents who wanted to use it for their childrens education or spouses.
The new bill increased the benefits from the previous Montgomery bill and was/is now transferrable.
Isn’t that the vote Obama made a big deal about supporting and gave a speech on the floor about McCain not supporting it 9because McCain wanted a different bill) BUT then did NOT bother to vote on? http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=110&session=2&vote=00139
if this link doesn’t work go to roll call may 22
or http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:SP04818: and click on vote link
Oh well, good luck with Obama, sure he’s going to help to the vets! ;O
Do you have to post everything in bold font? Why do you come in here to tell us this drivel? How much education do you have?
No, I don’t have to post everything in bold font, nor do I have to post everything in regular font. You are at liberty to use whichever you wish as well.
That’s your conclusion, huh? Your level of intellect is typical of PUMAs. Go to
electoral-vote.com
and educate yourself, dumbass. Obama will win in the electoral college easily, unless a big McCain tidal wave happens between now and November. That is possible but not likely, considering that the great American middle-class is desperate for answers to their growing problems, Obama has been giving them answers for months now, and McCain and Palin have nothing to say but “Obama is an elitist.” Fucking pathetic.
And that is exactly what will happen. Barack is the wrong man for the wrong job at the wrong time
Oh yeah, and Grandpa McCain is the right man? With what answers on the economy? “Smaller government?” Don’t make me laugh. You people have no fucking clue how angry this country is at the Republican Party. We just had eight damn years of “conservative” government, and the very idea is now thoroughly discredited. Obama will win with at least 300 electoral votes. Grandpa’s never going to know what hit him.
As for the great evangelical hope — Palin is obviously a gifted public speaker. If she turns out to be a smart woman with actual political ideas she might have some kind of future as the Republicans turn into a minority religious party. But not this year.
sf…
Obama failed to win 8 of the last 13 primaries and lost 9 out of 10 biggest states.
The backlash against you Anti-American scum is in full swing.
Get used to it!!!
The short answer to your question is yes. The long answer is yes and you’re as dumb as a coal bucket. That you are here trying to convert the nonconvertible only demonstrates your panic.
sf- You are so delusional, yet you call me a dumbass and pathetic. Obama will lose OH and FL. CO and VA will stay red. McCain will win NH. McCain wins…see ya Barky- Go back to Chicago a LOSER and whine to MEchelle. Or Oprah!
or Reverend Wr
ight\ongA big boat can sink from tiny leaks. BO/BS has been making his own digs, but Palin holed the hull a big one, in one shot. You know that his camp is going crazy: if you have half the brains you claim to, you can see that he is in a very weak position, when he has to compete with a newby VP candidate.
sfhillary, you’ve been snide and superior all along. A great fan of polls, too. Yet today you are degenerating to the taunt and threats level. Face it, we are immune to your taunts, BO/BS is sinking in your precious polls, and the crookedness of the voter drives run by ThugsRUs is getting more obvious daily and is going to blow back on them.
And your desperation is showing. Pardon me while I call my pet, Ammut, to lick you a little.
“American middle-class is desperate for answers to their growing problems, Obama has been giving them answers for months now”
HA HA HA HA!! Good one! your comment is ridiculous.
Actually, Obama has been speaking to the issues closest to the troubled hearts and minds of mainstream American voters. He’s been consistently countering deepening pessimism with a hopeful, optimistic message. People are listening.
“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
Those aren’t Obama’s words, but they relate to what he’s telling us.
I agree, people are listening to Senator Obama. I listen to him. I like what he says, his vision is a wonderful world. Unfortunately, his plans for getting to that wonderful world is very expensive and in my opinion, unlikely to be all that successful without major tweaking. The polls show people are unsure of Senator Obama as a person and whether he can bring about the change he advocates.
The polls also show people know and understand Senator McCain, they aren’t unsure about him. They may disagree with him but feel he’s unlikely to make things worse.
In a tight race, people who aren’t married to a political party, are more likely to choose the candidate they understand, who isn’t going to cost them money and they feel more comfortable with. In this election, Senator McCain is shaping up to be that candidate.
Oh ho ho ho another troll. Anybody else got the munchies?
Why do you come here, for conversation, or to insult? To detract I get that, I am responding to you, but it archives this so when others come along and read at least each foolish post that is simply an attack. You often disrupt and spam over and over. Are you thinking you can insult us into voting for Obama?
It’s nice that my post which shows that Obama is STILL leading McCain in all electoral vote projections and national polls (Rasmussen, Gallup, Hotline, and CNN) was deleted.
It also contained links that showed that in the last two elections, it was the Republicans who did all the rigging–by illegally disqualifying registered voters in minority precincts, as well as the former head of Diebold (the maker of the nation’s electronic voting machines) promising to deliver Ohio’s votes to President Bush.
I can’t understand why my post was deleted, especially when I cited the newspaper articles I took my information from–oh wait.
Maybe that was my problem. I used actual sources instead of opinion blogs and stump speeches. Silly me! What was I thinking? Doing research…*shakes head*…(when will I learn?)
Here’s a very short article and video worth taking a look at. When watching the video, think of the footage of Obama mocking the Pledge of Allegiance.
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/09/powerful_video_addressed_to_ob.html
Call me corny, but we must fight to retain the American values that Obama and Gang despise and seek to destroy.
Cat I am a 60 year old Viet Nam Vet with tears in my eyes from that clip..Thank you…
Maybe you should talk to the other misled vet posting above.
Cat,
No, you are not corny, just American. Thx for the video. Oblahblah is so distressing to watch.
if you think that is bad, watch this Christian make fun of the BIBLE
http://www.youtube.com/v/4FCNKwHRCQM
Very powerful, yet poignant video.
It isn’t corny, and I am sorry for taking so long to get to the video, it was great. I am a coward to watch these type of videos as we have our son, and 2 nephews and a niece in Iraq right now, so I get weary from worry. I am so glad you shared it. I must mention again Senator McCain has always been a big supporter of our soldiers serving, and I have had actual correspondence with him on an issue, where I was a crazy mom writing, and he a kind compassion man who probably could recall when his own mother was very worried. It matters, when people care.
Promoting and defending freedom from tyranny. That is an observant and concise analysis of Obambi’s ideology.
Obama has never mocked the Pledge of Allegience.
Please find a new line of misinformation.
Obama has never mocked the Pledge of Allegiance, except in your imagination.
Actually, there is a video of Obama holding his “weapon” of choice–the one of him grabbing his crotch during the National Anthem while Hillary and the rest of the then Democratic presidential hopefuls inexplicably put their hands over their hearts.
LOL, Larry. Barracuda’s bringing a gun to the knife fight too!
This is incredible, totally incredible. A vice presidential candidate isn’t going to be available to the press for two weeks? Two weeks? In September. We have this total unknown who could be president of the United States next January. And she’s in hiding for two weeks. She needs to be in front of the press now. The United States and the world cannot have this total unknown foisted on the presidency without any serious vetting and without any press interaction. This is absolutely third world. Since when is the governor of a state given two weeks in hiding?
The sexism that implies that someone cannot stand up to reporters because she is a woman is appalling. This entire pick, of course, is incredibly sexist, and the handling of her in the last week the most sexist double standard I have ever seen in American politics. Can you imagine Hillary Clinton saying she wasn’t going to answer questions for two weeks? Or Margaret Thatcher? Or Kay Bailey Hutchison? Or Elizabeth Dole? And none of these women were ever as close to global power as Sarah Palin now is. This is getting to Manchurian Candidate levels of creepiness. It’s deeply sinister and slightly terrifying.
Anybody got a flyswatter? There’s a pest flying about!
You’re kidding right? Obambi has disappeared to Hawaii and the Caribbean on “vacations”, he refused to go on any show that didn’t bow down and kiss his butt (just went on O’Reilly this week), and his campaign is gaining a reputation among journalists for being insular.
Obama has been in the spotlight for at least a year and a half. He’s been on Meet The Press, This Week, Face the Nation, did at least 20 debates. Palin has? The election is 60 days away. Bow down to your great Madonna, your Paris Hilton! Sarah Palin. Her celebrity will save you all!
oh please, they were all in the tank for obama singing his praises, spewing his skewed talking points.
it’s sad that palin’s daughter and even her down-syndrome baby had much more vetting than the media’s/msm’s pathetic attempt at journalism.
Nice try, bot, but everybody knows OBAMA IS Paris Hilton – we’ve seen the videos.
You knew you’d heard that somewhere, right? Bots are sooooooooo original! LOL!
Yeah, but he talked big about how he’d do a series of town hall debates with McCain and then ducked him for four months straight.
Take away Barry’s teleprompter, and he’s a stammering idiot.
Never under estimate our enemy he’s been working on that uh um problem.
McCain/Palin 08
Anyone ask him any real questions – NO
Palin has?….been working for the good people of Alaska.
As someone who has worked with executives and has briefed them, there is no such thing as hitting the ground running when jobs are of tremendous complexity. When any person is appointed to a top position, there is a short, intensive period of study. Long briefing books must be digested, whether you’re running for VP or heading a business office. One must learn what current policies are. The person who wrote the above about Palin not having early press availability knows nothing of how organizations work.
Go to a kool aid bar and get a fix………..
More like lay off the hookah and join the rebellion.
It’s a perfect move by the republicans. by shielding her from the totally biased bastard MSM, the McCain campaign gets to define and solidify her image. In addition it increases the intrigue in people’s minds and makes her even more of an exciting person. The press will be there in 2 weeks, where have those bottom feeding parasites to go?
Manchurian candidate indeed. Nobama is the prime example of Manchurian candidate, the nobamabots have some nerve using the word.
BTW has anybody seen his grandmother. Is she still alive? Has anyone seen a recent photo or video of her? Has she given any interviews? When Nobie went to hawaii they showed him entering the house, but no sign of the old lady. Does she really exist? Or like Anthony Hopkins’ mom in Psycho, she is a skeleton somewhere in the basement wearing a wig? And is Nobama really what he claims he is or some Arab substituting in place of the real nobama? Maybe they want the grandma to be hidden so that no one can do a DNA match test. Manchurian candidate indeed.
What an asshole that insect above is! He does indeed need to be swatted.
Where has your crotch-grabbing-limo-lover-crack-smoking boy been to answer the dozens of questions posed to him. Eh? He hides behind his phony gift for speech when pressed to answer like the surge in Iraq. He’s a weasel. Not worry about Sarah. She’ll blast both him and the drunk from the huge, huge state of Delaware in due time.
>>> He’s a weasel.
That’s a little extreme, and VERY disrepectful of Weasels everywhere.
There are Weasels that I LIKE!!!
Governor Palin seems quite capable to me to deal with the press with finesse. I presume McCain’s campaign believe they need the time to coach her on her answers, that she isn’t well informed about certain issues. Which is understandable, overnight she’s moved from one of our more isolated states into the international community. It’s doubtful she’s as well-versed on the international economy, China, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, health care, alternative energy, national security, etc… as say Biden, McCain or Obama are.
My guess is the McCain campaign is trying to prevent any dud answers that could come back to haunt them. Which is understandable. They don’t need any “above my pay grades.” At the same time, keeping the press away from her can have a negative impact and give rise to the belief she’s inexperienced, unable to handle the press or has something to hide. The longer the press is kept from her, the more likely it is to harm McCain.
She’s studying, being prepped. What’s wrong with that. How hard is it to prep for foreign affairs. Its not rocket science and you don’t need 30 years to get up to speed. She’ll be ready in two weeks – guns blazing.
The campaign should run ITS campaign – not let the opposition or the Obama press dictate its agenda.
Her kid is being shipped out to Iraq on Thursday. I think she should be able to spend some time with him before that happens.
The United States and the world cannot have this total unknown foisted on the presidency without any serious vetting and without any press interaction.
wasn’t going to answer questions for two weeks?
Gee McCain Will lose; you must not read newspapers or watch TV. Both of these statements describe Obama perfectly. Obama has not been vetted by the media, and after the ABC debate refused to do any more debates. And even after telling John McCain he would do town halls with him he has since said no, no, no. Now who exactly is afraid of the press little boy? Who is hiding. And gee, he is such a scardy cat that he can’t even defend himself against Palin. He has to hide behind Hullary’s skirts. Real manly.
Sorry I misspelled Hillary’s name above. What’s his name makes so angry !!!!!
That is one of my problems with Governor Palin too, she hasn’t been vetted and McCain’s campaign appears to be trying to prevent it by keeping her from the press. They’re capitalizing on her strengths, but what are her weaknesses? The weaknesses are there, everyone has them.
Instead, the media has spent the past week discussing the sexism that blazed across the internet. Is Trig hers? How can she be a mother and govern at the same time with a 4 month old and pregnant teenager at home? That stuff is irrelevant, but it’s been the focus for the past week and I don’t think the McCain campaign has minded one bit. It’s kept the press busy and they haven’t dived into her background as a mayor and governor.
I want to know about her history as mayor and governor, not just what the McCain campaign tells me. At the moment, what she did as mayor is as cloudy as what a community organizer does. I want it detailed. There are a lot of dud mayors who go onto to higher office and a lot of dud governors, one ended up as our current president.
WHy don’t you look for the information yourself then, not look to the media to provide it for you. This is something I don’t understand. Having someone tell you about someone else’s resume, is having an interpreter with their own impressions added. It is much better to read for yourself. If people can take the time to blog, and claim the election is so important, why not take an equal amount of time to look into issues and history of office as well?
That comment you replied to seemed so fake to me. If someone truly believed that the press would find out those things (LAUGH) , then they would have realized Obama hasn’t been “vetted” yet either.
I cant remember the last time anyone told a politician.. please subject yourself to questioning… we all know the questions suck.
It’s already been decided in this country that the media’s job is not to vet people.
So go tell your supervisor at Omarxa.com that your little propaganda effort is ineffective.
Selective indignation at work with this poster. When will your false idol be vetted finally?
…crickets….
It is important for the candidates to be available to the people, the voters, not the press. they don’t interpret who to vote for, for some of us at least.
What’s incredible is that anyone would believe the press, our press, the same press that gave George W. Bush a pass for years, the press that did nothing but uncritically regurgitate press briefings, would have anything relevant to ask her.
All Obama can shoot is hoops.
And Sarah Palin could probably kick his ass at that, too.
Sarah would run his ass ragged from one end of the court to the other.
Isn’t that where her nickname came from? HS Basketball? Sarah Baracuda sounds like she was to be reckoned with on the court.
I think hockey mom’s call that “putting you in time out”. You gotta love the irony of this really.
LOL Good one! Campbell Brown is “in time out” until she learns to do her homework.
If you had a clue about hockey, you’d know that there are no “Time Outs”. All Hockey Mom’s know that.
There’s the no irony in a bot pretending to know something they are clueless about.
From the A.P.-
The excitement with which people are turning out to see Palin could complicate a key line of attack that the McCain campaign has been building against Democrat Barack Obama for months.
Republicans have sought to cast Obama’s support as nothing more than shallow adoration and hype befitting a movie star. They have mocked his appeal among Hollywood types and compared his star status to that of lightweights like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. They say there is nothing of substance to back up the candidacy of the Illinois senator.
Palin is even getting the star treatment from celebrity magazines, Web sites and television programs, which have played up her personal story as a mother of five children, one of whom is 17 years old, unmarried and pregnant.
We can thank Obamabots for Palin’s popularity and celebrity treatment, partially based on the public’s pushback for her mistreatment by Obamabots and the media.
To remind, McCain will be at the top of the ticket, that will be the vote that Palin is attached to.
Obama is running against McCain, to remind again, not Palin.
This puts Obama to shame. Here she is with the troops, obviously comfortable with guns and the military. No pathetic, staged Dukakis moment here.
Wow! A candidate can shoot a gun! That’s certainly all the qualifications someone needs to President. By the way, you realize shooting a gun is easy, right?
no, all you need to do is ‘run a campaign’, even though axelrod is doing the dirty work for him and ‘community organizing’, where he met his associates (rezco, ayers, wright, etc.).
Yes indeed, a phenomenal community effort with the dregs of society at his side: Rezko, Ayers, Wright…and the only thing that would have a lent a bit of legitimacy is his concealed friendship with the gay choir master executed by an assassin. That poor young man was the most reputable and decent person in his coterie. Do you suppose Mayor Daley is investigating?? I dunthinkso.
Can Obama shoot agun?
We all know he can “shoot coke” though.
Obama can shoot his mouth off.
Tell that to Dick Cheney!
Yep. Sarah’s a veritable Tom Petty pin-up girl. I’m eagerly awaiting the Rambo poster of her in camos field pants and a tight OD tee-shirt, with a waving flag in one hand and a locked-and-loaded M240 machine gun in the other…
why does sarah need to speek to reporters? She is speaking DIRECTLY with voters at rallys and Town Halls.
Why is it lefty’s and media elite feel like they make or break someone?
I would tell the press to fuck off for awhile to after they erronously tried to destroy her.
They kept saying she was not vetted properly. What that really meant was McCain vetted her thoroughly and NEVER leaked her name to the press. When he anounced they were pissed because THEY(the press) did not vet her or know Mac was picking her.
I would not meet with any press unless it was someone with a record of being fair and balanced.
Perhaps some press from across the pond?
My thoughts exactly, Paul. About punishing the press, I mean. Guys like condescending Paul Begala and James Carvile and whatzisname Harvard prof, not to mention Campbell Brown and Gloria “it’s hard to work and raise children at the same time” Borger. They do NOT get invitations to the inaugural ball.
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS:
Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post on Morning Joe last Friday made this Freudian statement slip:
“She has to face the firing-squad, i mean, I don’t mean firing squad, she has to face the press”.
FIRING SQUAD? The image of firing squad is one person with a blindfold on and hands tied behind their backs facing a group of loaded weapons.
The things out of their own mouths reflect the true feelings within. The Obama Press will be purged.
Off Topic..
Since this is a historic election why is there not more attention brought to the fact that Sarah is married to an Inuit(eskimo) and that her children are half native American.
Because……according to P. Diddy Puffy Puffin’ Pooping Daddy, there are no minority populations in Alaska.
Is P Diddy doodoo a puffer? Dat’s nice.
I disagree, if people start to think Palin and Obama are both just shallow rock stars, then she will have done her job. She is running for VP, obama for pres. I think people would rather have a rockstar VP, than a rockstar pres., lesser of 2 evils type of thing
Seatlle moss- He is 100% white looking. (todd palin) Kinda hard to push a interacial story there ….
did someone mention manchuraian candidate in reference to Gov Palin?
wow. that is a really dumb remark.
that is hubris of a great magnitude considering that the bobo is the original and unmatched manchurian candidate.
also…
love the idea of a “hockey time” out for the media.
poetic justice is served.
To the previous poster that said there was no one in the dem party that would not vote for obama because he is black.
I live in ohio. A very dem area of ohio. I am fairly active politically here in the dem party. If you really believe that there is no one in the dem party that will refuse to vote for obama because he is black, then i have ocean front property for sale here in ohio LOL
LOL, I have some bridges to sell them, too.
I live in Ohio and know lots of Dems who will not vote Obama, both men and women.
I live in Chicago. We are completely color blind. As long as the color is green.
Sarah Palin on Barack vs. Hillary “Sambo beat the bitch”
http://www.laprogressive.com/2008/09/05/alaskans-speak-in-a-frightened-whisper-palin-is-%E2%80%9Cracist-sexist-vindictive-and-mean%E2%80%9D/
Here’s the comment I attempted to post there:
“Alright, that’s an exaggeration brought on by my getting too little sleep and building too much anger as I worked this article.”
Right there you proved your bias and your inability to write an article that is in ANY way objective. REAL journalists get BOTH sides to the story. They interview the people on BOTH SIDES. They don’t just try to dig up dirt from unsubstantiated sources like you did, to paint a one-sided libelous picture just to take down a candidate from a party you don’t like,
This is beyond irresponsible journalism. This is what they used to call “yellow journalism” as a matter of fact.
While you are so busy getting riled up over the supposed Hitlerian tactics of the Alaskan Republicans, perhaps you could put some of your righteous outrage over towards the Democratic side, and do some REAL reporting on Obama’s caucus fraud.
Here’s a documentary that actually has VIDEO of NAMED SOURCES on the fraud:
http://wewillnotbesilenced2008.com/
“Journalists” like you make me ashamed that I am a registered Democrat.
Funny, the lines were jammed in Wasilla but Greta managed to get through and talk to 3 people who had known Sarah Palin for many years and were glad to give their last names. A waitress who is “a-scared” to give her last name…total BS. Is that like “reliable sources”?
That article was laugh-out-loud STOOPID! Are people really going to believe the Governor is racially biased against her own husband and children? Or that she uses a racial slur from the 1930’s????? LOL
So this guy from Milwalkee who is a independent journalist (read not employed) who is self decribed as an liberal and activist has a friend – no name given – who has a waitress friend named Lucy – no sirname – who “whispers” a statement – more facts you can rely on – Hey guy go see if
Obama will hire you he needs more smarmy people.
Journalist and Reporter are not the same occupational group.
Nor is Stringer, which is a polite way to say, “Nosy, snoopy clown on the make for dirt that will get him a gig with a regular check and a W-2.”
yes, poeple saying she is inexperienced or becoming a rock star. That is the point. McCain showed he is one of THEE greatest stategisers of our time.
Palin has WAY more CREDIBLE experience to be president than Obama. Everytime they bring up her experience it highlights obama’s lack of a record and experience. She picked a candidate that matches Obama in all of his strengths and outperforms him in his weak areas. They are going to spend the next 2 months attacking her and comparing her to Obama when she is the VP. That only highlights his many flaws.
There is an excellent article at Townhall talking about the strategy of this decision.
It is brillian on so many levels. She may be the first VP since LBJ to help carry a state. And i think she will help him carry many states.
The excitement of Obama has been washed away and replaced. She is a rising star and is on an upward trend at least until the elction
why does sarah need to speek to reporters? She is speaking DIRECTLY with voters at rallys and Town Halls.

they need to fuck off…they already are too damn big for their britches, thinking they are the know all, powers that be that know what is best for everyone…KISS MY ASS MEDIA AND REPORTERS. They are just mad because they didn’t get a chance to make up some lies about Palin before McCain announced her as the VP. The media has lost their credibility and don’t deserve any favors.
Obama whines about the campaign and sounds like doubt is surfacing:
““I hope you guys are game,” he said, “because I haven’t been putting up with 19 months of airplanes and hotel food and missing my babies and my wife –- I didn’t put up for that stuff just to come in second. I don’t believe in coming in second…”
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/i-dont-believe.html
More of Pamper’s whining? I don’t think I can take it. How does MEchelle put up with it? Someday her little girls will grow up, but Barky is always going to be a demanding baby.
no minority’s in alaska???? Ummm, do P.Diddy and certain other blacks think that only they are a minority??
I say others because i saw Cnn interview a couple black guys who said the same thing.
Some are so ignorant, in the true meaning of the word.
Palin’s husband is a minority. SHHHH, don’t tell Diddy or the black community.
The Dems don’t want it to get out that Palin’s husband has Eskimo blood, cuz Eskimos work hard, are peaceful and are strongly family oriented. Can you think of a minority that isn’t noted for those qualities? Uh, uh, lemmee think.
uh, uh, uh, I can think of a couple……
Of course, there’s that dreadfully high mortality rate directly related to alcoholism. 12% of all Native Alaskan deaths are directly attributable to alcohol abuse.
Alcoholism is a very serious problem in Alaska in general. A far greater problem than in other states. Many Alaskan communities have attempted to deal with the worsening problem by outlawing the sale of alcohol altogether. I suppose that would include Anheuser-Busch products…
[...] I can’t recall ever linking to No Quarter, Larry Johnson’s blog. For a time, Johnson was a darling of the far left, now he’s a die hard Hillary supporter who has run some, shall we say, questionable “scoops.” He’s also no longer the darling of the left, but that’s beside the point. Since a commenter here already linked to a video of Sarah Palin going all rock and roll with an M-4 carbine, I figured this was worth linking. [...]
So what’s your point?
exactly, what is your point??
There doesn’t seem to be one. I have seen these ramblings on the O campaign site, it’s in upheaval, no focus save -raise that money-. Conversations make no sense, and of course have the expected over punctuated, bold, or caps emphasis to show how much they really care.
Big Mac struck “gold” in Alaska!
I feel safer already!
Sarah is great!
Arguing Governor Palin is more qualified to be President because she’s sent the National Guard out to fight forest fires, took a trip to visit the troops in the Middle East and played with a M-4 is ridiculous.
The fact is neither Senator Obama or Governor Palin have a resume of executive or legislative experience that would give anyone confidence that they would excel as president. What they are good at is winning elections and having a strong popularity. I’m willing to concede Palin is inexperienced, it’s foolish to pretend her experience matches Senators McCain and Biden’s.
Governor Palin wasn’t chosen for the ticket for her experience. She was chosen to:
Bring a fresh look to the Republican party of aging affluent white males, i.e. “this isn’t your father’s party anymore.”
Be McCain’s attack dog (barracuda), a woman who attacks in a charming, sarcastic way.
Sway sitting on the fence women voters, all the soccer moms who are looking for someone to identify with.
She has a knack for making the right moves at the right time, even when she’s inexperienced.
She’s excelling at doing what she’s supposed to do. Arguing she has the experience to take over the Oval Office in January, makes us look as foolish as the Obamabots who claim Senator Obama is ready. I think we’re better off promoting her strengths instead of emphasizing her weaknesses by arguing they aren’t weaknesses.
One of her strengths is she has the ability to take a job she has little experience with and swim, not sink. That is what I’d be emphasizing, not claiming she has far more experience than Senator Obama. Because the reality is, she really doesn’t when it comes to making decisions on whether to fire the missiles, dealing with a potential explosive international incident, cleaning up the mess with Iraq, fixing the national and international economy, etc… She has two years of significant executive experience as a governor for a state rolling in money from high oil prices. She hasn’t been tested. She hasn’t been to the War College, have years of experience in the Senate studying and dealing with national and international issues nor does she have years of governing a state out of crisis. Pretending she has the experience to be commander in chief is ridiculous. It’s a waste of time. Emphasizing her strengths will do more for the McCain campaign than wasting time arguing she has more experience than Senator Obama.
that’s just plain STUPID. Obama hasn’t been the leader or commander of anything. Sarah Palin was the mayor for two terms and now Governor for 2 years. Pay attention….
Telling people they or their views are stupid for pointing out Governor Palin lacks experience doesn’t win your argument that she is qualified to be vice president or president. Instead it argues the opposite.
Senator Obama used managerial and organization skills as a community organizer with ACORN. Probably not too dissimilar to Governor Palin’s experience of being mayor of a small town. ACORN fought to keep Big Box stores out of Chicago, she fought to bring them to Wasilla. I don’t think Senator Obama’s experience is a strength to prove he’s ready to be president either.
From my preliminary research of Governor Palin’s tenure as mayor, she took a town with no debt and saddled it with $22 million in debt. Maybe she spent the millions on things the town needed, that I need to research. But my preliminary research of her judgment as a mayor, she so far appears on par with Senator Obama’s judgment.
I’d won’t repeat or believe the praiseworthy stuff the McCain campaign has said about Governor Palin and the media is repeating without verifying. We know nothing about Governor Palin other than what Senator McCain wants us to know. An year ago when the DNC decided that Senator Obama was their wonderboy, we knew only what they wanted us to know. It’s an year later and we’ve turned over a lot of rocks and discovered he’s not that wonderboy after all.
Governor Palin doesn’t have a long career of successes and failures on record. We know nothing about her or her judgment. Don’t make the mistake like the Obamabots did without verifying all the wonderful things we’ve been told about her first.
I’d like to know how she took on the big oil companies. No one has explained what she did and what result she obtained. I want details.
I’ve heard she fired a lot of people when she became mayor and governor. Why? Who did she replace them with?
Is it true she didn’t like her job as the chairman of the oil and gas commission and was looking for a way out of the job?
There are claims the ethics legislation she’s taking credit for was already well advanced before she became governor. I’d like to know if that’s true or if she’s taking credit for legislation she came to the party late for, just like Senator Obama does.
And then there’s that little business of the Bridge To Nowhere. There are claims that when she ran for governor she promised she would get the bridge completed. Later on when she discovered the bridge was now a national controversy and she could keep the money appropriated for it, she dropped her support for the bridge. If this is true, how was the money spent.
I want answers to those questions before I become her champion. I’m not going to go down the path of the Obamabots and drink what I’ve been told about her before I check out whether it’s Kool-aid or not.
That’s a good idea to check out things for yourself; no offense but sometimes we call people names, right or wrong, I understand in your opinion that is something you don’t care for. Some of us it doesn’t matter, save perverse racist or sexist bashing. It doesn’t influence me one way or another regarding NQ regulars,(nor do I have the view that it is somehow interpreted to mean the opposite) when outraged is expressed, by some savory terms. It only catches my eye when it is a repeated post by an Obama supporter who comes here day in and out and does this to the NQ regulars. Just saying, you will see all flavors of speech here.
Well I believe Obam ais behind all this as well.He now is there making up lies. You know Palin is running now as V.P John McCain is running as president.Buty Obama is so scared of Plain that he has to attack her in lies.Palin has came across the board of many who now loves her.Palin has done good and got corruption out from here party.
Obama is a want-a-be.The media and the lies of Obama is what made Hillary supporters fight so hard for Hillary and now the media and Obama is doing this to Palin.Well I say fu*k the media and Obama.The4y are making it worst on them selves.Oh poor Barky so much of a whinner.Oh she took my spot-That’s my spot,I’m telling whin whin whin that’s all he does and lies-
Never OBAMA OR THE DNC EVER!
McCain -Sara
But we do have Bobo shooting basketballs!
Obama’s arms look skinnier than Sarah’s. Weird.
The central issue Barack Obama really has now is plain and simple; for all the TALK he did about “change”, in the final analysis he lied. By selecting Joe Biden, who also voted for the Iraq War, Barack basically flip-flopped on his campaign theme of “change” and also flip-flopped on his stance, seeemingly, on the Iraq War too. Barack Obama simply cannot “have his cake and eat it too”. He is either a genuine agent of “change” who should been bold enough to select someone outside the corridors of politics as usual in Washington or face the truth that he is a proven liar…what’s worse is that his running mate voted for the Iraq War, yet Barack has always maintained he’s against the war. What is it, for or against the Iraq War? For or against change? Have the Barack supporters been duped?

Sorry fellow posters…
the MSM has NOT been playing up Palin except to call her out on her mothering ability, her fidelity, her pregnancies, her children and her pro-choice. The press has not said nice things about her.
Bimbo. breeder, sarcastic and shrill are what the MSM and D’s said.
The people of America are the ones taken with her, after tuning in to see her after all the HYPE.
So the BO people now have a problem they never saw coming….
McCain…it’s a good thing he is on our side!
umm, yes she has a mountain more than Obama. Obama was a US senator for 143 days and ran for president.
She has been a Governor for 2 years and then ran for VP.
As a governor she has a better understanding than Obama how to runa gov’t from the Executive branch. Why?? Because she is the Executive of that branch in ALaska. There is an enormous difference between senators and Governors. She was also a 2 term mayor.
You can belittle the size of the town but the fact is that she has run a town, state, and she runs a business.
That is a hell of alot more than obama has done. All Obama has done is write 2books,gave a keynote adress, and was touted by oprah. WOW, he is so accomplished.
Alaska is strategically one of the USA’s most important state. From oil and natural resources to our nations defense.
she is in charge of the largest (physically) state in our country. It is bigger than most countries and you can 250 states of delaware in it.
Also, she has experience with the oil companies in a few different ways than just being Gov. She was on the board of Oil conservation and her Husband is a worker for BP in the north slope.
So, you get nowhere by saying she has no significant experience. Really, it is quite ridiculous.
Also, she already IS a commander in Cheif. So, i do not get your assertion it makes no sense to argue she is better prepared. She is not better prepared, SHE IS ALREADY THERE.
Considering Obama’s comment about guns at a knife fight, it appears that his favorite weapon would be a “Saturday Night Special”.
Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania Obama was trying to convince attendees at a rally that he wouldn’t take their guns away, even if he could. “I can see we have some hunters here”. How the hell does he know, were they in camo, and orange vests or did he hear someone in the back row say “BULLSHIT!”. You don’t think he was profiling them white dudes up the back do you?

He is such a whiner.
Amen. She’s a real leader. She’s real person for the people. God bless her. May Americans bestow their favor on her on November 4.

I can’t believe, after all the hammering he did of Hillary regarding that vote, that his people aren’t outraged with the Biden pick. I would hammer that one in any debate I had with him. Basically, that was the one note argument he used to distinguish himself from Hillary, and the one talking point that he exploited to create the fallacious “superior judgment” argument. He has basically gutted that argument by his choice of VP, and I would use this in ads and in the debates.
When somebody lies to you,
You don’t sit around hoping they’ll change.
They won’t.
So walk away.
I left politics today to ride my bicycle in the High Sierra Century. It was a profoundly beautiful day, cool, sunny, no winds, blue skies and Banner Peak—that symbol of mountain majesty in America the Beautiful—standing there reflecting light from its solid granite peak. My bike was such a war horse today on the hills and summits; it gave me that wonderful sense of freedom one can earn on a bicycle on a perfect day. So I have renamed that bike; it is now the Sarah P.
awesome….
Re: Sarah and the press. She owes the press no favors. She is smart to hold off on hitting the media circus as she goes out on her own on the campaign trail and sharpens her background about the issues—she does need to read all those briefing books; she needs to meet people and get her sense of what is happening. I am just so sad for the press; gosh they really don’t deserve to be ignored. Sarah’s celebrity a bad thing? LMAO. Sarah would not be up there on the A list of celebrity figures if the Obama campaign had not put on the idiot attack machine. Karma.
The problem with you folks you haven’t been to Obama’s Public Allies – a Hitler Youth type camp Obama help found.

Hey, pretty cool! Under an Obama administration, this could be funded 100% and become kind of an alternative, counter-military operation to properly indoctinate our youth in internationalism. With Bill Ayers as Secretary of Education, this would mean real change!
OMG…Sarah Palin KICKS ASS!! haha, you go girl!
Truly, Senator McCain & Gov Palin, will not require nearly the amount of energy and on the job training as Obama will to be brought up to speed on military procedure, let alone military operations on both fronts. Legislating gives you a great deal of time to look over how you want a law to affect a certain thing. Bills that really work, have very little political blackmail attached to them. Very few lobbyists, the bill makes it thru to be signed in or vetoed as to their correctness and simplicity. The simplicity is based on an understanding of what the legislator is dealing with, they do not need someone to tell them what to do, they are up to speed, they understand previous bills that are similar, the law as it is at the current time and what will happen should the bill pass. Also the cost of that bill and if it is realistic in it’s acceptance at all levels of government, and finally is it enforceable? If there is clarity in the drafting of a bill, there are less chances it is being financed by some outside interest group, rather it has a support that has an ability to be interpreted into law, on it’s own two feet.
Why I bring this up is for the CIC test, as to the promises being made on the campaign trail, with everything I have heard promised from Obama, there simply is not enough money, enough time or enough legislator’s to do what he is promising. Another point is priority. How will these issues be prioritized? I would venture to think, the CIC will need to go after the big pig (the war), that is eating the economy alive, and from there, you will see the ability to shake the money tree again to provide for some other issues to be handled. Spending on military needs, as in what the soldiers require to do their job, and require to stay healthy or be taken care of cannot be cut. The CIC, will need to make sure there is plenty of money coming from the Iraq coffers, to pay for what it is they seek, their security and stability. It sounds harsh, I know but that would be the part, where Iraq must stand up to step forward on their own, if not, then no matter how stable the country becomes, if there is no vested interest, history will repeat and there will be continued conflict once again.
Special on Fox right now – Greta’s show on Sarah Palin!
Has anyone besides me noticed that Sarah is Keeping Her Elbow DOWN when firing?
Someone taught that girl Right!
I bet she even knows Axiom #3, to wit: There’s ALWAYS more Air than there is Meat!
“She commands troops, shoots a gun”
This is my rifle, this is my gun…..
Get the right elbow UP!! dammit. Seat the stock in not on top of your shoulder before you kill the guy next to you.
Left elbow DOWN!! Support that weapon.
Lose the phoney automatic fire on the sound track.
Sorry ’bout that. Of COURSE I meant the Left elbow.
Had to go re-Qualify for continued Employment with M-14 and Mossberg 500 a few years back, well over age 50. The -14 wasn’t too bad, but I was real tired of jacking the slide on the 500 after the 50th round or so.
And, of course, get On The Job and they hand me an MP-5. Cute, and looks cool in the movies, and shoots very well, for what it is.
But no M-14, and certainly no Model 70.
No 1911 Colts on the ship either.
Nine millimeter?
It just ain’t Dignified.
The SCAR is the M-14 we shoud have had, just not a purdy.
The SCAR is the M-14 we shoud have had, just not as purdy.
Someone finally got it Right..
Thats a wrap…
So now Larry is a war monger? How does that coorelate with him supposedly once having supported Clinton?
I am finding this site more and more amusing.
The neocons must believe we are all stupid.
I am finding this site more and more amusing
It’s why I keep coming back. It’s fascinating.
One explanation damaging to the self-esteem is that this has been a false flag operation from the beginning and we all fell for it.
The neocons can relate to how obtuse Obama supporters truly are because they have bought into Obama’s lies. The neocons bought into Bushes lies and look what happened over the last 8 years.
The neocons can relate to how obtuse Obama supporters truly are because they have bought into Obama’s lies
This is fascinating.
The nucleus of the neocons was formed from Democrat hawks disgruntled by Jackson’s defeat by McGovern in the 68 primaries. Jeane Kirkpatrick is the best female example of that group which comes to mind.
The self-described feminists on this blog passionately supported Hillary Clinton, a Democrat liberal (American Conservative Union (ACU) Lifetime Rating 7.71) against Barry Obama, a Democrat liberal (ACU Lifetime Rating 7.67). They are disgruntled by Obama’s defeat of Clinton in the 2008 primaries.
They now just as passionately support John McCain, a conservative Republican (ACU Lifetime rating 82.1).
The new neocons are being born before our very eyes on the 40 years later to the day..
(So stupid. So ignorant. So clueless.)Obamabots are out tonight. What did Obama put on his site”Fight the smear” John McCain isn’t ahead of me-Sarah Palin isn’t heard of me-lol Get a life!Stay off our blog if you don’t like what we say.
