McCain-Palin Pull Even, Change the Narrative, and Obama Employs Sexism

Sarah Palin’s speech on Wednesday night might be the defining moment of the General Election. According to CBS’s new poll, Obama’s post-convention bounce has evaporated and the race is again tied. It’s likely that McCain will pull ahead with his own convention bounce. One of few sane netroots bloggers, Jerome Armstrong, sifting through the CBS poll, is warning Obama supporters of a close election:

if we pull out a 4% spread on election day, I’ll be very pleasantly surprised. It’s much more likely that we are going to see the same result as in ‘04 and ‘06, a tie or 2% lead. That’s it.

A tied race is particularly bad place for Obama. The Obama campaign planned on putting McCain on the defensive in Western states and overwhelming him with money in the key battleground states. The selection of Palin will probably nullify any Obama inroads in the West and the Republicans are suddendly at financial parity with Obama. Bloomberg News reports:

With an increase in fundraising following McCain’s choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, Republicans say they are no longer in danger of being swamped by Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama’s campaign cash.

“The money game is essentially off the table now,” said Eddie Mahe, a former deputy chairman of the Republican National Committee.

In addition to the financial boon brought on by Palin, the attempted swiftboating of Alaska’s governor has created a situation where the public overwhelming perceives the media as being biased for Obama. Armstrong suggests that the attacks on Palin will actually strengthened McCain:

The media has been busy digging a grave for us this past week, by following up on the vicious personal smears that have been pushed by prominent liberal blogs into the mainstream. Not only did they mostly backfire by not being true, but they confirmed the popular opinion that the media favors Obama. It’s become conventional wisdom. This presents two huge problems.

First, McCain can basically wield whatever attacks he’d like, and not have to worry about the critique of the media. They are not seen as objective judges in the matter.

Second, the only way that the media can change this public opinion is to go overboard the other way, by attacking Barack Obama with multiple feeding frenzies.

To date, the media has been unwilling to investigate or critique Obama, so a feeding frenzy is unlikely; there’s nothing to suggest that this will change. The public’s understanding of this bias gives McCain the opportunity to define Obama and link him to the media’s elitism and the D.C.-establishment culture. Obama’s selection of Joe Biden makes McCain’s task much easier. McCain/Palin now own the Change narrative. As Bob Somerby says:

That “maverick” narrative is deeply entrenched—and this planet is driven by narrative. (If we might borrow a bit from Lord Russell: It’s novels, all the way down.)

The Associated Press is reporting that Palin’s speech (and perhaps McCain’s as well) was viewed by more viewers than Obama’s, and her critiques of Obama appear to be taking a toll on the Democratic nominee. Obama seems rattled and is now defending his mysterious work as a “community organizer.” Carolyn Lockhead of the SF Chronicle (h/t Paul Villareal) writes:

Sen. Barack Obama ditched his normal languid cool today, punching back at Gov. Sarah Palin as he spoke with reporters in York, Pa, hotly defending his work as a community organizer. He said he assumes Palin “wants to be treated same way guys want to be treated, which means their records are under scrutinty [sic]. I’ve been through this for 19 months. She’s been through it, what four days?” (emphasis added)

Lockhead seems to be approving of Obama as the political pugilist, as Obama “punches” at his rival’s VP pick. Instead, by saying that Palin “wants to be treated same way guys want to be treated,” Obama is drawing attention to her gender and implying that if she complains of his tactics that she’s not as tough as the “guys.” This is classic Obama sexism: it’s the condescending put-down meant to disempower his female opponent by playing into stereotypes.

In the next sentence, however, Obama comes across as defensive:

Obama’s hackles were clearly raised by Palin’s dismissal of his community organizing –a response to his earlier dismissal of her record as a small-town mayor. “Why would that kind of work be ridiculed?” Obama said. “Who are they fighting for?” The idea that community organizing is not relevant to the presidency, he said, just shows why Republicans “are out of touch and don’t get it.”

The McCain Team should be wary of a cornered Obama. In a similar situation in January, on the heels of back-to-back defeats in New Hampshire and Nevada, Obama, sensing defeat, began to sound rattled. In a column titled “Now or Never,” David Broder described Obama’s desperation in psychological terms:

But all that is down the road from South Carolina. For now, Clinton and her husband, the former president, have gotten inside Obama’s head and rattled his composure. Obama seemed unusually defensive in his speech here Sunday evening, launching the final burst of campaigning in the state

Obama’s firewall in South Carolina, as has been well-documented, was the despicable use of racial politics against the Clintons.

McCain’s selection of Palin has shifted the narrative of this race away from Obama’s Hope message and back to the familiar Marverick narrative. While McCain/Palin own Change, Obama/Biden are the verbose Washington insiders. Independents and women voters are swinging back to McCain, and the electoral map projections will change the “inevitable” narrative. The McCain Team should be wary. In times like these, when Obama is feeling down, he lashes out.

Remember, this is the same MSM that helped bring you (and continues to bring really) the Iraq war. The media has no other narrative, they will have to defend Hussein Obamacus all the way to the very end. Sure, they may ask a hard question, which they will give to Obamacus in advance, and allow him time to get his ducks in a row.

I do think that he will still lose.

McCain/Palin now there is a ticket for Americans!

Comment by educatedwhitewoman | 2008-09-07 09:24:25

McCain won the Republican nomination fair and square.

It was Obama and his thuggish campaign that stole the Democratic nomination through well-documented and pervasive caucus fraud, buying off and threatening superdelegates, aided and abetted by a corrupt DNC which selectively punished states won by Hillary, handed over delgates to Obama won by Hillary, and held a sham roll call at the convetion to hand the nomination to the only candidate in this race who never has been properly vetted.

Comment by Liz B | 2008-09-07 09:36:14

Good thing there are no caucus states in the general election, something the DNC chose to ignore about the electability factor that will cripple Obama and would have benefitted Clinton. It’s winner take all in the general election baby! And I believe the red states will stay firmly red and the swing states will probably swing red. BTW, if we don’t have Obama in the WH in November, you can most likely thank a woman and a Bubba. I’m cool with that.

And he came from behind to do it too. His party pretty much wrote him off and the right wing conservatives were glad to do it. Now with picking Palin as his VP and his ability to fight on thru all that adversity, he is on track and the public can see what he has actually done. Americans like fair play and fighters for what they believe in. That was Hillary’s deal too. Too bad she ran into party cheaters before she really got to show the general public how good she is. Good for JMac..

I don’t know if that’s the case or not but I’m thinking now that the elimination of the Clintons was planned a long time ago by the leadership of the dems and they groomed 0bama, who agreed to the plan. They knew he was well-versed in Chicago-style politics and that he’d do anything…with their help, of course. I just am thinking it began with the current corrupt leadership.

Also, 0bama’s style has been to win by eliminating his competition. I wonder how he thinks he’ll eliminate mccain?

Well, none of them have my vote…that’s all I know for sure. Have a good one, all.

I think everyone assumes the more desperate Obama gets, the more he’ll try to paint McCain and especially Palin as racists. (I noticed recently on a blog an anonymous waitress said she overheard Palin say “Sambo beat the bitch”). That’s the start. But will it work again? Obama already has the black and white guilt vote. Everyone else may see it as just more of the same.

ellen — its the law of diminishing returns. This country is getting tired of Obama and his antics. A recent poll showed 50% of Americans feel they have seen too much of Obama and are sick of him. If he starts his racism stick against this woman this will not play with the electorate. Palin has become the underdog and anything he says about her he has already said about Hillary and Bill and small town Americans etc. You can only play the white guilt card so often before people dismiss you as an immature moaner with a glass jaw.

Its too bad that no one can ask the media questions like WHEN EXACTLY did you do any vetting of Obama? For example, sending reporters to snoop around Alaska but sending no reporters to Chicago to do the same for Obama.

The bias towards Obama has long been evident to Clinton supporters and because of that, her supporters have become very high information voters and will never vote for Obama come hell or high water.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-09-07 11:35:34

deep truths — The Dems say we don’t exist and the media says we don’t exist but McCain knows we exist and Palin is his present to us Hillary Dems.

Obama can’t handle that millions of Democrats will not vote for him so he sends out surrogates to get us back in the fold – now if we didn’t exist why would he go to so much trouble to get us back.

Comment by Bob White | 2008-09-07 11:17:58

Regardless of Obama’s alleged cheating, if the DNC rules were the same as RNC rules, Hillary would be the nominee. I suspect McCain would have trouble beating her. There is something to be said for “winner-take-all” and “winner-take-most” rules.

Not so sure – they are truly sexist.
The best thing about the choice of Palin will be if she really does destroy the Dean/Axerod/Obama western strategy to which this post refers. Democrats really do not know what this stategy entails. If you have not yet done so, you need to read this New Yorker article about what the western strategy entails. (The last five paragraphs are the key):

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/09/01/080901fa_fact_lizza?printable=true

Here is a very telling quote from the article about what this strategy will bring if it succeeds:
“It’s a party that becomes more Hispanic, and less African-American,” Kenneth Baer, the co-founder of Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, said. “More oriented toward high-tech workers and less towards labor. It’s the end of the New Deal coalition.”

I would have dismissed this as crazy except for the fact that it explains Obama’s tactic of dissing Clinton’s record which appeals to the working class. It has only been recently that Obama bothered to point out the great Clinton economy. That was either because he was trying to appease Clinton Democrats or because the race is so close that he has finally realized that he needs those working class folks in Ohio and Pa.

The western strategy is a big loser. Knowledge workers have already been voting for Democrats. Why in the world would you want to turn your back on lower class voters just to please them even more? The only thing I can think of is that it is cooler to represent these types of cutting edge people.

Comment by Steve1 | 2008-09-07 09:26:13

They do realize that Clinton received 55-60% of all Hispanic votes and up to 80% of all Asian-American votes. McCain does have a strong appeal to Hispanic and Asian American voters. There is a strong distrust between Hispanic, Asian Americans vs AAs. 90% of Hispanic American are Catholic and Soetoro has a problem with Catholic voters. If this is the strategy they were depending on-they are more stupid than I though!

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-09-07 10:14:01

I read that Sarah Palin has been polling well with Hispanics who are often Catholic, socially conservative and interested in education / healthcare. It was conventional wisdom earlier in the election that McCain would attract Hispanic voters because of his earlier immigration bill. This might’ve been the case, except this group moved overwhelmingly toward Clinton in the primaries. Sarah Palin’s biography, her fiery speaking and confidence, are playing to McCain’s strengths that he cannot talk about himself, and he has taken on more domestic issues. He is talking about national security, welfare reform, energy independence and creating jobs.

Comment by llamajockey | 2008-09-07 10:44:55

Look I am a staunch FDR/Truman Democrat.

But I have to take issue with

Knowledge workers have already been voting for Democrats.

Because what is exactly meant by knowledge workers???

Does one mean the upper middle class latte and wine drinking set? The doctor; dentist; lawyer; journalist; media, advertising, marketing reps, under 50 corporate middle management types who have actually been doing just fine under Bush II economically yet hate his cultural conservatism and Neo-Conservative foreign policy adventurism. This voter demographic are socially Multicultural Left-Libertarians yet economically are staunch Neo-Liberals. They flock to Barack Obama while at the same time look down their noses at working class Democrats . But they are an elite subset of the electorate. They are minority of Democratic voters, yet for most of the last 30+ years they have had the upper hand in choosing our presidential candidates and party leadership.

The much ballyhooed Left-Libertarian/Economic Neo-Liberal/Minority Coalition has been fatal to the Democratic party for the last 30+ years.

Some might bring up the success of Bill Clinton, to claim otherwise. But in 1992 Bill Clinton ran as a staunch economic populist who reached out to the neglected working class across racial lines. Bill Clinton kept his economic Neo-Liberalism/DLC pedigree under wraps until after the election when he later sold the working class base of the party down the river with NAFTA, China PNTR and assorted other economic chicanery. Also do not forget Clinton had the help of Ross Perot tearing GWHB a new A-Hole at ever turn. Clinto

NOW if by Knowledge Workers who actually mean STEM workers or Science, Engineering Technology and Math degree holders then the Ryan Lizza’s New Yorker article and the Howard Dean/DNC strategy is really off base.

True Knowledge/STEM workers have been hammered for a over a decade now by both the Clinton and & Bush administrations. Nearly a million of over 35 year old IT and engineering professionals have been displaced in the economy because of the combined effects of wildly corrupt H1-B and L1 “insourcing” visa programs, outsourcing, NAFTA and China PNTR.

This segment of the electorate is now a independent swing vote. They are at best “Lou Dobbs” Democrats.

Pro-Employer – Anti Worker/ Open Border Immigration policies and legislation are a deciding issue with this electorate. Neither the Barack Obama or McCain has done themselves any favors by backing the treasonous so-called Kennedy/McCain “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” legislation that proved wildly unpopular with the public across party lines.

Right now the STEM worker vote is split among the Presidential candidates but leaning towards McCain especially since the Palin pick as VP. Obama is not being trusted because of his unrelenting Marcusian/Gramscian Racial Marxist rhetoric.

Yet take a careful look at what is happening in the Senate races in Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota and Maine. A 6-12 months ago these were seen as being easy victories for Democrats. However, unlike in 2006 when winning candidates like Jim Webb, Sherrod Brown, Heath Schuler, Brad Ellsworth, Joe Donnelly among others, staked out their own more moderate if not restrictionist take on immigration, now the DNC, Pelosi and Reid are all insisting that the Democratic candidates support “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” less they not receive lots of very left-wing Hollywood and corrupt corporate campaign cash. Combined with the fact that Obama is soaking up the vast pool of small donations, it has these senate candidates flip flopping all over in order to try not alienate voters. And guess what?? It is not working. All of these races are now swinging Republican or within the margin of error.

Ryan Lizza, Howard Dean, Pelosi and Reid are all wet.

This election is shaping up to be an unmitigated and entirely avoidable disaster for Democrats

Comment by Bob White | 2008-09-07 11:21:07

I think by knowledge workers they mean primarily the Silicon Valley/Redmond crowd.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-09-07 12:12:26

Jockey — well said. Ryan Lizza’s article is Howard Dean’s talking points. I read the same words last week quoted by Howard Dean himself down to the last phrase about not being able to get this done this year. I could have added — how about never.

The Democratic Party was the ordinary people’s party and now that it thinks its too good for ordinary people — then there is no reason to be a Democrat at all. I think Republicans are playing it smart in appealing to the Democratic base. I see a more moderate Republican Party becoming the majority party for decades to come.

There is also something else going on here and that is with the economy in such bad shape those who are usually never touched by economic upheavals are in the same boat with the rest of us. If you’re hurting do you want an overgrown kid who was a Community Organizer and has little or no other experience to to be Potus — I doubt it.

bernie — it may be cooler — but its a loser. A party made up of the creative class, latte liberals, AA’s and Youth is not enough to win. And telling the base of the Democratic Party to stay home because they weren’t needed to win will be taught in political science classes as the dumbest political move ever made.

“Periodically, when [Barack] feels down, ()he starts launching attacks against…” those whom he fears. This sexist code statement against HIllary used by Barack was detested by millions of women who see that this incompetent sexist race-card baiter hasn’t changed at all and is now attacking his newly perceived female threat.

Beware indeed. He appeared in this youtube mega-hit:

“Obama Gives HIllary the Finger” —

and plays a well-rehearsed JayZ rapper-wannabe act dusting off and scraping off (as if excrement) his female fellow senator HRC, smirking and using his dainty midfinger strategically.

Barry is dangerously camouflagins his sexism so Sarah Palin better be ready for an out of left field attack that could be race-baiting in nature.

It started already with bloggers sayint they found a waitress in Alaska by the name of “Louise” and she head Palin say “So Sambo beat the Bitch”!…

So, the race-baiting already started against Palin.
Barack must be taught a painful lesson and the Republicans, unlike the exDems who didn’t bother defending Hillary against the dirty punches of the BHO crowd, have to quickly neutralize the narrative and even sute Barry for slander by bringing their own witnesses against him.

Barry fights dirty and keeps his manicured nails always clean. But not this time. There’s a baraccuda ready to bite his ears off. And the pumas will be only too delighted to roar their wild approval…

Answer: The Obama Campaign itself, to draw the Righteous Indignation “backlash” vote.

In 1924, while seeking to become the first Irish Catholic Governor of Massachusetts, James Michael Curley hired people to burn crosses in the heavily Protestant western part of the state. He did this so he’d be able to point at them and yell “BIGOTRY!” and suggest that anyone who voted against him was a bigot. (He lost anyway.)

This is what the Obamabots did- desperate after losing New Hampshire and Nevada, they threw the race card into the SC primary by accusing the Clintons of doing it.

Now they can reap the whirlwind.

A federal court can and will order the state of Hawaii to produce the BC–which will say “Barry Soetoro”. Soetoro-”Obama” won’t produce it, so he was sued to produce it, and evidence of his citizenship.

Soetoro is not eligible to be POTUS. That’s why he introduced Biden as “president”, you know.

But, to lie about and than accuse your opponents of swearding this, is the height of hypocrisy! Well this time real Americans are not going to fall for it. Friday, June 20:

“It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy,” Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid.

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

He said he was also set for Republicans to say “he’s got a feisty wife,” in trying to attack his wife Michelle.

“We know the strategy because they’ve already shown their cards. Ultimately I think the American people recognize that old stuff hasn’t moved us forward. That old stuff just divides us,” he said.

Hey Barry, we’re tired of these cards. Don’t you have any more?

Oh, and calling us all racists and islamophobes seems a little divisive to me.

New Zogby poll out there, and it’s more good news for Palin/McCain.

http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1548

The GOP team is ahead 50-46%.

McCain’s favorability rating increased from 50% favorable last week to 57% favorable now, a significant jump that indicates the GOP convention was a success. Among independent voters, 61% now have a favorable impression of him, compared to just 49% who said the same a week ago.

Nearly half – 49% – said they had a favorable opinion of Barack Obama, while 50% they had a negative impression of him. Among independent voters, 47% gave him favorable marks, compared to 46% who said the same thing last week.

Among the vice presidential candidates, 54% said they now hold a favorable view of Palin, while 42% hold an unfavorable view. While 49% have a favorable opinion of Joe Biden, 47% hold an unfavorable view of him.

Comment by Elliott | 2008-09-07 08:23:12

This explains the utter overreaction to Palin. They are seeing it all fall apart due to Obama’s hubris. Obama is yesterdays news and saying everyone is calling him names is pathetic. He only has 8 weeks and it is not enough time to reinvent himself again. He gambled on not selecting Hillary as VP and lost.

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-09-07 08:55:37

Imagine if Obama was attacked the way Palin was — Obama would completely unravel and they would have to lock him up.

Comment by SBwa | 2008-09-07 09:33:21

Well, nobody was allowed to attack or question Michelle, remember?
What’s funny is how Obama had to give the entire country a lecture about race when HE was attacked for his RACIST minister of 20 years.
Did Sarah lecture any of us about anything when they tried smearing her?

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-09-07 10:02:15

What’s funny is how Obama had to give the entire country a lecture about race when HE was attacked for his RACIST minister of 20 years.

I don’t think that is funny, I think it is disgusting. Are you a certified moron? Nobody made Obama give an inane lecture on race — he needed to explain what he was doing in that disgusting church for 20 years, what he heard and knew about Wright, and why he was still there. Obama decided he would not do that, instead he took no responsibility and lectured us. WE should be lecturing HIM. I expected Obama to drop out of the race at that point. I am so angry at that jackass for turning his egregious conduct and lies into a lecture to the citizens of this country that I developed deep hatred toward that man.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-09-07 10:28:11

It was at that point that I quit listening to him at all. I can’t take more than three minutes of his speeches now, especially the cadence and preachy tenor. He reminds me of one of those ministers that gets caught with a hooker. I just roll my eyes when he tries playing his mind games, “They”re going to do this…” and “People will say…” and as I have said many times, I’m tired of hearing “folks.” Ain’t no folks in DC, Hyde Park or Hawaii.

If Obama can not put personal feelings aside for the bests interests of his campaign, how can we expect him to act in the best interests of our country?

Or am I just being paranoid?

(after the May 31 Michigan vote grab…I am a little paranoid)

Comment by fluffy bunny | 2008-09-07 10:14:50

I noticed that too. I also noticed that they have no polls in PA later than 8/25 or something. They are still giving those votes to Obama because of a 5 point lead as of 8/25.

But his lead had shrunk to get there. Perhaps they will update that this week.

Comment by Zee | 2008-09-07 10:45:52

FiveThreeEight is also losing its mind over these polls. HAHA! By “projections done right” they mean *WISH PROJECTION!*

Two days ago they told all the Obamafans to stop hyperventilating because the post-Palin bounce was “over.”

HAHA, then suddenly they are not reporting Obama’s continued tanking anymore, just weird attacks on Palin being a “hockey player” not a “hockey mom” — whatever that’s supposed to mean!

Comment by John | 2008-09-07 12:53:22

Just listen to Air America radio and Olberman- they tell us that it’s because “pollsters arent reaching the younger crowd because they have cellphones and not land lines, so the young are being undercounted, and of course they are heavily for Obama blah blah blah..”

Which is a complete and utter joke. Pollsters ARE reaching cellphones. They want to be accurate, not look stupid.

It’s just bad news for the Obamabots. Ignoring it or dismissing it won’t make it go away.

And the opponent is not the Clintons. The Clintons were forced to fight with one hand tied behind their backs. The GE is a different game. McCain will come back swinging. And Palin will body-check Obambi. Conservatives are immune to Kool-aid. It’s a new game. And whining doesn’t work.

Jerome is correct, but I still don’t like the guy.
He welcomed the HRC supporters at a time when
they were being harassed and ridiculed on
Daily Kos and other blogs. And having their
posting privileges abruptly revoked.
THAT was fine and good. Plus Jerome’s sleepy
blog enjoyed high ratings.

But then the Daily kos thugs swarmed Jerome’s
blog and started taunting and harassing Clinton
supporters. Jerome caved to them.
Ultimately, the thugs won. Most Clinton supporters were thrown off Jerome’s blog.
As soon as the Kos thugs ran the Clinton supporters
out, they took off.
Jerome’s ratings plummeted into the toilet.

Good riddance Jerome.

Another nasty rumor quashed –

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/09/06/the-bogus-sarah-palin-banned-books-list/

Palin Derangement Syndrome strikes again.

This time it’s hysterical librarians and their readers on the Internet disseminating a bogus list of books Gov. Sarah Palin supposedly banned in 1996. Looks like some of these library people failed reading comprehension. Take a look at the list below and you’ll find books Gov. Palin supposedly tried to ban…that hadn’t even been published yet. Example: The Harry Potter books, the first of which wasn’t published until 1998.
The smear merchants who continue to circulate the list also failed to do a simple Google search, which would have showed them that the bogus Sarah Palin Banned Book List is almost an exact copy-and-paste reproduction of a generic list of “Books Banned at One Time or Another in the United States” that has been floating around the Internet for years. STACLU notes that the official Obama campaign website is also perpetuating the fraud. And it’s spread to craigslist, where some unhinged user is posting images likening Palin to Hitler. Here it is again.
The person who first spread the Palin smear is identified as “Andrew Aucoin,” a commenter on the blog of librarian Jessamyn West. West has done the right thing in keeping the bogus comment up and pointing out in her main post that “there appears to be no truth to the claim made by the commenter, and no further documentation or support for this has turned up.”

These rumors are going to continue backfiring.

Comment by katmandu | 2008-09-07 08:29:11

Thanks, I needed that.

I posted this yesterday, but it bears reposting for any who missed it. The GOP has a big edge in defense and national security issues.

http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/09/democrats_regain_wimp_factor.html

One of the most notable polling results at the time of the 2006 elections was that Democrats had closed the national-security gap versus Republicans who held a long and significant advantage in that area. That was short-lived.

Unfortunately for Democrats, the gap has reopened. Democrats are regaining the reputation with voters as wimps.

Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner has just released a survey that indicates that voters perceive Republicans once again as far and away better on national security issues than Democrats.

Forty nine percent of those surveyed thought Republicans were better on national security while 35 percent thought Democrats better. When it came to combating terrorism, 48 percent thought Republicans superior to Democrats while 33 percent gave Democrats the advantage.

According to the Greenberg study researchers:

The national security credibility gap is returning. Old doubts about Democrats on security, after diminishing during 2006-2007, have begun to re-emerge: concerns that Democrats follow the polls rather than principle; that Democrats are indecisive and are afraid to use force; and that Democrats don’t support the military. Because these weaknesses are longstanding and deeply ingrained, and because Republicanweaknesses are newer and do not yet have a label associated with them, Republicans continue to win on many security issues.

I think I’d have to say that a major reason for this is the success of the surge, though maybe some of the news about Obama’s doubtful associations is causing this.

And I did not use the word “wimps.” The Chicago Tribune writer did.

Comment by McKatmoon | 2008-09-07 08:43:34

Kat,

I also think the do nothing Congress has a bit to contribute to these rankings as well. The lack of leadership in both houses, the immediate removal of impeachment by Pelosi, left a bad taste on specific national security trust. Least of all not to forget Fisa. They all relate.

This “news” bothered me. So I researched it myself.
Mayor Palin did not have ONE book removed from her city library. What she did do was ask the librarian a hypothetical question in order to test her commitment to working as team with the new adminstration. ( have to admit, she could have picked a better question!) She did this with other department heads as well or asked for their resignation so that they would re-apply and be re-appointed by her if their past performance merited it. That is SOP in top level federal and state positions. Seemed over the top for local goverment. If it is based on performance, it is an excellent system to get rid of bloated- do nothing- political appointees just collecting a taxpayer paycheck. It is also mis-used to fill taxpayer funded positions of importance with bloated-do nothing political appointees. ( Anyone remember FEMA Brownie?) On this topic, I would be more interested in her actions as Governor than Mayor.

I would like to pose a question. First, a preface. Has anyone considered that the *problem* is not whether the president is a republican or a democrat, but is linked more to the individual president’s background? The common background I see between presidents I have come to loathe is that they are Ivy Leaguers. Specifically Harvard or Yale graduates.

Isn’t it time to see how people who come up outside that track will perform? The last non-Ivy League President was Ronald Reagan…unfortunately, the last Navy man was Carter, the worst president in history…but McCain seems to have little in common with a guy who should have stayed in nuclear engineering…

If I had to pick #2, it’s JFK. Yes, JFK. You read that right. Eisenhower warned of the military-industrial-CONGRESSIONAL complex and no one listened. Since then, we’ve had countless military adventures, exploding Pentagon budgets, raiding of FICA to hide the costs of war, the coddling of “big business” (it was NOT Nixon who started that, it was JFK), etc.

To date, the media has been unwilling to investigate or critique Obama

Instead, the media has been running non-stop infomercials for Obama — I’m surprised they have not yet asked people to make four easy payments of $49.95 to the Obama campaign.

Obama seems rattled and is now defending his mysterious work as a “community organizer.”

What the hell does a community organizer do, knock on doors and ask for money? That is the only thing Obama seems to be any good at.

I’ve been through this for 19 months. She’s been through it, what four days?

Obama, you don’t get it. Palin was elected Governor, she has responsibilities and has actually worked at her job something Obama has never done. Obama gets elected to the Senate and thinks the job description consists of running for president.

Obama is trying to run against the Republican VP nominee and he is getting his ass whipped. It may finally start sinking through to some slow people that Obama is inept.

Comment by PJ | 2008-09-07 08:57:57

Very good points O is a Bum – especially about asking for four easy payments. Ha!

Big-time. Tony Rezko, slum lord, that district is much worst off than before Soetoro was their elected representative. Community organizing, yeah, sure!

I got an email from one of my journalist friends who I have told them that they are so left they can not make a right on red. There is the talking point for this week, where Rick Davis opened the door on morning Joe about Sarah not doing interviews. This is the “talking points” this weekend and I just saw it for myself on MSNBC.
Is there anyway you can get information posted for NBC to stop the lie. Their Promo’s for Biddens first interview since being named VP running mate.

I suppose Palin will do her first interview at Fox with Greta. Lets see.

HAHAHA!!! McCain is turning the tables on Obama.

The biggest weakness for Obama is that the media can’t let something go. They always react, which means they’re the SECOND to say or do something. If they’re second, then they’re followers and McCain is leading them along. It’s really great to see how McCain is forming the narrative.

Comment by Vince P | 2008-09-07 09:26:00

It’s so funny how McCain diminishes him and turns him into cartoon.

I have to say.. all conservatives were so upset with McCain in the spring when he had his strict rules about not being harsh on Obama. We all thought he was going to run some gentleman’s campaign against a ruthless Marxist

Total bluff!

Comment by Kate | 2008-09-07 08:52:21

Republicans have bashed Hillary for years and years.

FoxNews has also.

NOW they are supposed to be champions AGAINST sexism?!?

Obama made two sexist comments during his campaign. The rest of the sexism was promoted by You Tube, the media, and idiots like Daily Kos. Who, actually, are NOT Obama.

Yes, he could have spoken out against it. But it’s not the same as actually doing it. Republicans have no credibility at all.

And Palin said Hillary was whining when she made her two or three comments against sexism (I think she was allowed one or two, she bore up against the onslaught incredibly). So Palin thinks it’s whining, that means it is now whining on the Republican Party’s part to complain about it. :-)

I guess neocons really do believe if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it is the truth.

Comment by Vince P | 2008-09-07 09:03:21

Kate: Who else have the Republicans been sexist against?

It is not mine or anyone else that I know value to be sexist or racist. And we immediately noticed the sexism against Hillary in the primary.. her fight against it earned some respect from us.

The Left tries to roll over whoever is it in its way, using whatever weapon works the best.. so if you’re a woman, it will be sexist.. if you’re gay and an enemy of the Left they will come after you for being gay.

Republicans are angels compared to what the Left does routinely.

again…another person who didn’t pay attention to Palin’s whining comment. Here we go. Palin said Hillary complaining is PERCEIVED as whining. Do you know what perceived means? Whether it was whining or not, the media, public etc would take it that way. That ia a BIG difference than saying Hillary was whining. She did NOT say that.

Comment by Linda | 2008-09-07 10:46:16

ABC News’ Eloise Harper Reports: Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, in a video interview with Newsweek posted on YouTube, discussed the coverage of Sen. Hillary Clinton. In an interview that appears to have taken place during the Democratic primary, Palin criticizes Clinton for her response to media scrutiny she received while on the campaign trail.

Palin says, “When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or you know maybe a sharper microscope put on her I say man that doesn’t do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this county. I don’t think it’s, it bodes well for her a statement like that.”

Comment by s. hall | 2008-09-07 13:04:35

linda — we are all sisters under the skin but we are not conjoined twins. I have heard a more recent comment by Palin in which she acknowledges how much more difficult it is for a woman than a man in politics.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-09-07 11:02:34

UGH. There is nothing worse than seeing a smiley face punctuate a hateful rant. It’s a sign of a deranged mind.

So, Kate. You only counted two sexist comments during the campaign. That’s a rather low estimate and still two too many for someone who claims to represent hope and change. Don’t think for a minute Obama’s campaign doesn’t send memos to the media and use Huff Po and Kos to start whisper campaigns. He’s got new media down.

Then this part makes me think you’re on drugs or incredibly slow-witted:

Yes, he could have spoken out against it. But it’s not the same as actually doing it.

You just said he did it twice! Of course, you can’t expect him to speak out about it. Obama never admits a mistake. Even if he did at this point, no one would care. His credibility has been shot.

Here is my take on Palin’s comment. Hillary complained that sexism was happening to her after she was seriously damaged. She waited too long to address it, and that may have been Mark Penn’s advice. She should have been quick to point out sexism, especially through surrogates, and there should have been women’s groups who were alert to coded language and gender politics. Those groups formed at the end of her campaign, and it was pretty close to that time that Hillary complained that the sexism got out of control sand hurt her campaign.

I think Sarah Palin’s point was that “whining” about it doesn’t do women politicians any good. You have to take action. That’s what her speech did. She subtly addressed every argument, strategy and rumor Obama leveled at her and fired back. She stuck them to him. Palin was no longer the small town mayor, Obama was a community organizer, and WTH did he ever do for anyone? Prominent Republican women spoke out on her behalf. And the McCain campaign was adamant that this sleaze would not go unnoticed or bde tolerated.

That is the appropriate way to deal with sexism. Whether the Republicans needed a reason to do that like appealing to women voters in an election is irrelevant, because McCain took a risk in selecting Palin. She has stood up on her own merit as a candidate and earned respect. That women would rally to the GOP ticket was never guaranteed. And I am proud to say that 100 years ago, Republicans were the party of Lincoln, and it seems they’re reclaiming their heritage. They did a very good thing in advancing equality in this election, even if you want to be cynical.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-09-07 13:07:42

McCain/Palin: Change you can REALLY believe in!

Posted on August 27, 2008

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) today released its 2007 Congressional Ratings. Since 1991, CCAGW has examined roll-call votes to separate the taxpayer advocates in Congress from those who favor wasteful programs and pork-barrel spending.

CCAGW’s 2007 Congressional Ratings

• Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) 2007 rating was 10 percent, making his lifetime score 18 percent. The 2008 Congressional Pig Book contained 53 earmarks worth $97.4 million for Sen. Obama, including $1,648,850 for the Shedd Aquarium.

• Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) received the worst possible rating in 2007 with 0 percent, while his lifetime rating is 22 percent. According to the Pig Book, Sen. Biden had 70 earmarks for a total of $119.7 million in fiscal year 2008, including $246,100 for the Grand Opera House in Wilmington.

• Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) received a score of 100* percent and has a lifetime rating of 88, has never requested nor received a single earmark, and has pledged to veto any spending bill that contains any earmarks.

I think McCain will save this for the debates. These things are devastating for Democrats during debates. Remember Kerry’s “It is true I voted against it before I voted for it.” With Obama, he’ll have to admit being for earmarks before being against them.

I live in Central Florida, and every republican that I know is voting for Obama. I firmly believe that the reason McCain polls higher here is for two reasons: A large percentage of Floridians don’t have phone numbers with Florida area codes…because they are cell phones. Along this same line of thought — I believe the older residence here ARE voting for McCain and they are the only ones who have landlines (and receive the push poll calls). All these folks aint really saying nothing about the issues, Obma is a little tiny bit, but it seems like Palin and McCain just mantra stealing when they need to talk about N. Korea rebuilding nukes like North Korea has fallen off the map

Comment by Brian | 2008-09-07 09:12:46

When Obama feels threatened, he reflexively goes to his “They’re going to try to make you afraid of me” speil. And then the spoken paragraph invariably ends with a charge that Republicans in general, and the McCain campaign in particular, are racists.

E.g., “They’re” going to say:

1) “And did I mention he’s black?”

2) “He does not look like all the other presidents on dollar bills.”

Post-Palin, Obama tried that tactic once again on September 5th (the single quote marks note Obama channeling the Republican mind):

‘We’re going to try to scare people about Barack. So we’re going to say that you know, maybe he’s got Muslim connections or we’re going to say that, you know, he hangs out with radicals or he’s not patriotic.’

That being said, I don’t think this tactic will work anymore, because it was called out and identified and effectively rebutted by the McCain campaign after his “dollar bills” remark.

So, Obama has the character (or lack thereof) and the motivation to lash out with false and malicious charges, but it remains to be seen whether he can come up with something more effective.

Comment by Lark | 2008-09-07 09:46:19

That is a hedge tactic that has worked for him many times. It tips the press and his surrogates to move swiftly against those who expose the truth of his deception. Like any hedge it looses effectiveness with repetition. Then it backfires. We’ll see.

Comment by politicsIsdirty | 2008-09-07 09:16:31

I really don’t like to vote Republican but this year I may have to vote that way.

First of all, it is obvious that McCain is much better than Obama as per accomplishment, experience and patriotism.

Secondly, the Democratic party leadership should be taught a lesson not to mess with their constituents. Dictating to the Democrats who their Presidential candidate should be is very undemocratic.

I was reading Google News yesterday, not blogs. A couple of articles had Sarah Palin saying racist remarks about blacks and native Alaskans.

They must not know that her husband is part native Alaskan.

I couldn’t believe this was in the news area. Talk about smears. Sexism isn’t working, so they are going with racism.

Been to Google corporate campus this past year and last — they are definitely infected with the kool-aid. Surprising how such seemingly smart folks can be so taken over and turned into mindless political drones. You should hear how some of them talk when politics comes up – they lose all of their intelligence and common sense.

Sarah and McCain are both not giving many interviews. They are turning their backs on MSM after the lies and abuse that have been heaped on Sarah by the MSM. What they have done is not vetting but piling on. Why won’t they vet Obama? Why not only give him a free pass but shove him down our throats 24/7? Because he and the DNC are bought people. There is money and power involved.

McCain will be giving an interview in the next few days in Jacksonville, Fl. Donna Heicken a local will do this exclusive interview. I can see Sarah and John giving MSM their backs and turning to the local stations for their interviews. Sarah and John will also hold a rally here in Jacksonville in the next few weeks or days. Yes I will attend and so will lots of my friends, neighbors and co workers, and family, both the whites and the blacks.

We all know what Barry thought of Florida don’t we? Well we will return that favor. He didn’t need us then and we sure don’t need him EVER.

Why is it reporters who were willing to pursue Bristol Palin, who isn’t on the ballot, somehow think it is unseemly to ask Sen. Obama tough questions about his drug use? Oh, that was a long time ago, they’ll argue. But a 1986 arrest for driving while impaired by Gov. Palin’s husband — not the candidate — is somehow worthy of extensive front-page coverage?

The double standard is shocking — but perhaps not to Sen. Obama. In his memoir, he gives the most telling explanation of how he has gotten away with avoiding discussions of his drug use. It was the same technique he used on his mother when she confronted him in his senior year of high school: “I had given her a reassuring smile and patted her hand and told her not to worry, I wouldn’t do anything stupid. It was usually an effective tactic, another of those tricks I had learned: People were satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves.”

Overnight, ethics reform became a hot issue in the general election campaign. Weather it was “Sarah- dipity,” or good luck, exquisite timing, or Divine Providence, the prospects suddenly looked much better for the reform minded maverick Republican who vowed to be an agent for change.

I saw where Obama was saying McCain was trying to take his “change” …Sarah had it first.

Parents Beware because this is no biography of Obama, this book looks and reads like a campaign pamphlet.

I’m sure that Obama supporters will proclaim that although Obama has yet to achieve status as one of our nations’ greatest leaders, his nomination itself is historic. That argument would carry some weight, if the book wasn’t written well before Barack Obama was the nominee of his party and if it did not read as a campaign pamphlet.

Publishers Description: Ever since Barack Obama was young, Hope has lived inside him. From the beaches of Hawaii to the streets of Chicago, from the jungles of Indonesia to the plains of Kenya, he has held on to Hope. Even as a boy, Barack knew he wasn’t quite like anybody else, but through his journeys he found the ability to listen to Hope and become what he was meant to be: a bridge to bring people together.
This is the moving story of an exceptional man, as told by Nikki Grimes and illustrated by Bryan Collier, both winners of the Coretta Scott King Award. Barack Obama has motivated Americans to believe with him, to believe that every one of us has the power to change ourselves and change our world.

Yes, Palin did smoke marijauna when it was legal. Yes, she did advocate for pro-contraception education in school. Yes she did veto a bill banning benefits for gay partners. Yes she did impose a windfall profits tax on oil companies and turn around and give that money to the people in her state in the form of a rebate. Yes she did suspend the gas tax. Yes she did increase funding for low income weatherization programs. Yes she has done a great deal of outreach into rural native populations, working to increase funding for education.

In my opinion, she’s got a better so called “liberal” resume then Obama tries to claim, LOL.

A British writer talks about how hate campaigns, like the one launched against Palin, rarely work.

But instead of protecting their precious advantage, they [the Democrats] succumbed to a spasm of hatred and threw the vase, the crockery, the cutlery and the kitchen sink at an obscure politician from Alaska.

[skip] They might have soberly examined her reputation as an opponent of political corruption to see if she was truly the reformer she claimed to be. They might have gently mocked her idiotic creationism [snip].

But instead of following a measured strategy, they went berserk. On the one hand, the media treated her as a sex object. The New York Times led the way in painting Palin as a glamour-puss in go-go boots you were more likely to find in an Anchorage lap-dancing club than the Alaska governor’s office.

On the other, liberal journalists turned her family into an object of sexual disgust: inbred rednecks who had stumbled out of Deliverance.

The writer than shows how in different political settings the same berserk attacks have not worked.

In short, the Republicans can thank thoughtless bloggers like Kos, Marshall, Sullivan, et al. for some of their current success.

I wonder how South Carolinans feel, that the did not know the truth, believed Backtrack Barry, and how do they now feel about him that he LIED and spread all those rumors about the Clintons? But, it wasn’t just So.Carolinans, was it? Many believed those lies and accusations because the media was reporting it that way. Folks like Donna Brazile, a key member of the Demagogic Party, who claimed she was NEUTRAL, and CNN allowed that, as she played the Axe(lrod) for Camp Obama on CNN. Being one of the first to lie and say Bill Clinton was being racist when he said the idea of Barry being in the White House is a Fairy Tale, when the only words Bill Clinton said in conection to Fairy Tale, was his record on the Iraq War, being he voted for it for the full 2 years he was in the Senate before announcing his presidency.

Bud, I do remember that time so well. I remember him later saying (the most admitting one got from Barry) how it’s ok, it brought him back in line where his confidence may had been getting the better of him. [paraphrasing]. But we all remember the path the embarked on. Backtrack Barry has shown he does and says anything for the end prize. That was when Craig Crawford appeared on Countdown the day after New Hampshire Primary and said about Backtrack Barry and his Campaign, claiming race “and I hope this isn’t the [strategy ] they will be playing in to South Carolina” [paraphrasing because countdown removed the transcipts and I don’t feel like searching me emails :D )

I think folks are realizing Backtrack Barry has absolutely no place in running for the Presidency or even representing the Democrats. My sister felt forced to watch Backtrack Barry’s speech, because of a friend of hers at work and she said she couldn’t believe even THERE, at his Convention speech, made it seem like he VOTED AGAINST THE WAR. And of course, he didn’t. So many peoople actually think he was in the Senate and voted against it. So obviouslly they don’t know that in his short career, he also voted to keep the war going for those 2 years, even voting NAY on the one bill to end the war date certain put up by Kerry and Feingold in June 2006.

That’s another reason Backtrack Barry and the Dems are in freak out mode. They made this all about FEELINGS (Thanks to Lakoff and Gov Dean pushing his book) it wasn’t issues for Barry, because he doesn’t have the record to back up those issues and now, there’s a new FEELING in town.

By Caren Bohan

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Reuters) – Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama said on Friday he expects Republicans to highlight the fact that he is black as part of an effort to make voters afraid of him.

From June 20. Poor Barry, it’s a Reuters article. I do think Reuters is a bit more reputable than The Atlantic. And the South Carolina primary was in January, right? And he goes on TW with George Steph in September and says the same crap with a couple of different words added.

It’s like the guy runs on a template that only allows a stray word here or there to change. Otherwise his control panel might short out.

However, if you go into “real” central Florida (outside Tampa), I don’t think you’ll find Barack the majority pick of your typical Republican OR Democratic voters. As a former Democrat, now Independent, I see Florida going McCain by a large majority.

With a McCain/Palin ticket, and when examining Obama’s, people are changing their minds about Obama. In summary:

1. Obama has a consistent record of being sexist. While he talks about equality for women, he pays his female staff less then his male staff. Independent research shows this is not true of McCain (or former President Clinton).

2. Obama has a consistent record of being racist. In addition to 20 years of sitting in a racist church and his other associations, when the hispanic population in Chicago was increasing, Obama told the newspaper that he would not allow the increased hispanic population to take seats away from the black population.

3. Obama voted to prolong Terri Schivao’s death.Obama voted with the Republican Congress and the pro-life Democrats approving legislation transferring the Terri Schiavo case from state courts to federal courts, delaying her death and taking the decision out of the hands of her husband. McCain and Hillary voted against this decision.

4. Obama and the Iranian Guard. Obama voted against the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment, which labeled Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. McCain and Hillary voted for the bill.

By the way, recent on Iranian television, Iranian Political Science Professor Mohamman-Ali Farhnesh slammed McCain and Palin and praised Obama.

No surprise based since Obama voted against the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment.

5. Obama’s Tax Plan Hurts Small Businesses Obama continues to say he will tax people making over $250,000. What he doesn’t tell people is that plan to tax “people” over $250,000 includes small businesses and is a marriage penalty. Obama’s plan to raise taxes on households making more than $250,000 will raise taxes on most small-business profits in America. These are mom and pop shops that employ few employees. These are the corner businesses that make America work.

What type of tax rate are we talking about? Currently, S corporations face a top tax rate of 35 percent, while sole proprietors and general partners face a tax rate of 37.9 percent (since they’re responsible for paying both income tax and the Medicare component of the payroll tax.)

Comment by OxyCon | 2008-09-07 11:15:53

Nice touch! But this time, if Obama’s “claws” come out, McCain is holding the hammer. He doesn’t have to fight Obama with one hand tied behind his back the way Hillary had to. If McCain really wanted to, he could bury that punk Obama. All Obama has to do is give him one good reason. If McCain turns this election into “God Bless America” versus “God Damn America”, it is over!

“Palin = sexist (anti-choice, anti-sex education, anti-equal pay)

That’s one way of looking at it. Another way is respect for women is the bedrock of feminism. Curing men of misogyny is the bedrock of feminism.

My mother told me that sexism was a daily constant in a woman’s life. She wasn’t talking about ‘issues’. She meant the way men treated her every day, everywhere — expecting her to step to the side, interrupting her, acting more aggressively towards her than they did with men. We spoke after the Clinton-Lazio debate. She was the First Lady of the United States, and yet Lazio still expected her to back down.

What represents the biggest change? Liberals voting for a black man? Or Republican men giving a woman in authority a standing ovation?

Well ladies and gentleman, we have work still to do , by continue, getting the right information out, the one thing we dont want to do is to let our guard down, those of you who have been here long enough the O’s have changed their tactic, on perceiving that they are laying down the truth and fighting with the same doctrine that they were asked to attack, now they are pulling Hills stands and trying to get more readers to see it their way, and we know that the O’s never liked hill and used racist , sexism, and nasty descriptions of her and her record, it seems as they are pulling out more and more of stands that Hill takes to dish out against Palin.

It is time they receive the attention that we keep speaking out against, continue voicing out our concerns and the unfair media, we will force them to do the unthinkable, investigate stories about O, since they have been drinking Koolaide for the past 19 months they will have to be sent to rehab to dry out, and bought back to reality, of being a news agency rather than O dirty political team.

But there is another agenda to make sure that the DNC knows how disgusted we are with the dirty politics it played on Hill , by selecting and allowing the Chicago machine, to demean and control the democratic party , with the bullying of the undecided electoral votes, that they forced to make a choice of a candidate not on merit and the belief of a more suitable candidate, but out of party unity, and a quick buck for the campaign trail, there were quite a few that stood their ground and i applaud them , but there were many who threw inthe towel when they passed off that fake rollcall, no spine, for party unity. Our drive is to force the DNC party to vote to remove those in charge Dean Pelosi Reid, for taking the side of sexism and racism and allowing it to be used against the Clintons, and the blind eye it allowed the O campaign to use against the bloggers who support Hillary, this is no longer a Party for the people other than a party of dirty political leadership that decided who our candidate would be because of race and the dislike of letting the people decide who their candidate would be because they did not want a Clinton in the White house, shame on them, and now they must hear from those democratic voters on the disgust of it all sexism, racism and voter fraud it allowed to decide the election, knowing alot of this was being used maybe not all on the board , but many in charge.

As we continue to watch the news and the debates, lets play close attention to how many pundants will come out with hatred on their agenda, and race card that will be put out, I can count about 6 pundants so far upset that Palin is not suitable and how she was not vetted, and that she does not speak out for the people and small towns, because they are from small towns. They will voice outrage and they will cause unrest of the O supporters, yes I believe even riots, as we see that code pink and the antiwar groups did at the Rnc convention this week, im pretty sure we who have spoken against the dirty manuvers of the O campaign; as we know their leaders are in the tank for O, and Ayers probably had a roll too. Since we all know that Axelrod still meets with Ayers on a regular basis.

Thanks for keeping up the good work and continue posting those demeaning post to the media, as the only man not in the tank on CNN Lou Dobbs, even he voiced the media was in the tank for O, and he was disgusted, he really needs to consider moving over to Fox, since he is an indapedant at heart, and does not care who likes his observation, , no spinn Lou, bravo for having the gumption of speaking up.

Remember a silent vote for O is a stay home vote, a third party vote, a fall in line vote, and a sign in vote for Hill, I own my vote and will vote for someone with experience, record, and integrity along with character and who has always worked across those party lines McCain Palin, Puma

For those who are new, here we are used to the name calling and bullying and the dispicable stories the oO supporters dish out, we have to give them some credit, we learned to let hit roll down our back and continue sounding the alarm that the dirty politcal machine is at work and using dirty tricks to boot.
