Governor Palin was for a connection to the island - bridge, or what have you - but NOT for the big expensive bridge that Ted Stevens wanted. She proposed an average bridge for the convenience of the 50 people who live there, not a monstrosity that would be more acceptable to cross the Ohio River connecting two metropolises.

Patrick may be a Republican, but he has spoken for me, a hardcore Democrat who will not swallow the Obama pill. I am very impressed with Patrick's post.

Gee John couldn't possibly be because John hasn't requested ONE earmark in 25 years. Not one. And quite giving this BS about how horrible Sarah is, she is the only one of the three that didn't grow up in private schools, had to work her way through college, sent her own children to public schools. You may choose to look for differences between Sarah and Hillary. I see much more in common then I do in differences. Both of them fight for our children. Care about the middle class and fighting for working families. McCain not only walks the walk, he talks the talk the same as Hillary. I can VERY WELL understand why the two of them have such a close relationship. Why she calls him friend. If that were Hillary on that stage and not John, I would be willing to bet Hillary would be standing behind her beaming the same way John does. You may choose to look at it as an us against them. That doesn't mean the rest of us don't realize we're in this boat together, and are not playing that game anymore.

Oh Please! Get over yourself John. We are also entitled to our opinion. Your opinion is no greater than our own, and you have ZERO right to try and belittle us into thinking like you. That is what Obama supporters do. The more you post the more I think Ex-Puma, Lochos. Another great Hillary supporter here to try and cause arguments between people that post her regulary. Call everyone repugs. How soon before you try to make Hillary into a narrow minded politician? That only worked for Democats.

Well John there is a difference between you and I. You're a man, and I am a woman. What happened to Hillary happened to every woman.

I will not allow a man to push me around, tries to belittle me by calling me a Republican. You may do so till the cows come home, that is fine. In case you hadn't noticed that is no longer a bad word. I will not support any Democrat that was in on what happened to Hillary.

Nor will I support any Democrat that went against their consituents to get behind Obama, and there are plenty that did that. I'm sorry, I don't see how you think it will heal itself just by Obama not winning, there will be another Obama to fill his shoes if we do not send a very strong message. If you leave the ones running things in office. I also don't see how you think things will change if you allow those that fell for the corruption and went against the rules of the party, against their own constituents to back Obama. No, I am sorry. I will not downticket those that are up there to work for their constituents, but I will not vote for those that were part of this whole mess.

I've said it before no longer will I blindly follow behind ANY PARTY, nor will I do so for ANY CANDIDATE. If that makes me a Republican, then so be it.

Patrick, Bravo! Your appreciation for your party's turn back from the far right really shows through in your words of praise for McCain and Palin. I don't have to completely agree with what you say, to be glad that you now feel more represented by your party than you have in recent times.

Reading your posts, I know that you understand the position of PUMAs who want their wayward party to also move back toward the center. Because you know how it feels when the party bus pulls away, travelling in a direction that is a disquieting caricature of what the party used to stand for.

And I thank you for respecting that in America, there's plenty of room for people of divergent political views, and expressing the hope that this election cycle will help us get our party back, much as you've gotten yours back.

(Just dreaming here, but wouldn't it be amazing if 2008 causes a backlash that results in the cleanest campaigns in history in 2012? OK, to be more realistic, "some of the cleaner campaigns"... where two upstanding individuals of reasonably good character debate issues and records of accomplishment instead of attacking each other's families and telling huge voting blocs to go jump in the lake as inconsequential.)

I really think the point of the matter is if Bo is on the top of the ticket and has gotten this far with his think resume, there is not reason anyone should be crying over her thin resume which is imo much more impressive than his.

Palin is Barky's reflection in the mirror, but real, but full.

Get it? Got it? Good.

You guys, I think patrick is using the word savior as a metaphor.
Metaphors are used much in poetic writings such as Patricks. Can we please stop taking the word savior and destiny literally.

Someone is saying thank you for your actions against insanity and all you can do is harp on John Mccain not being a savior.

I would imagine you would have a hard time reading Virginia woolf.

Well, I am one who believes we should never forget WWI or II. But if you ask a high school student who were the allied powers and who were the Axis, they would not be able to tell you. Understanding, studying and remembering history is consequential to our survival.

So if every year on the anniversary of WWI or II if someone says we must never forget WWI WWII I won't be angry and curse the words, I'll reflect. Reflect on the history of the acts, reflect on the main players and maybe even pick up a book or two on the subject.

For those looking for information on specific areas of damage from IKE try www.khou.com. In the bottom right corner they list areas and counties and have boards set up and people are reporting the damage in the specific areas. Good luck and hope all is well.
