Wow, REALLY???

By now, you have probably heard about the latest Obama ad. To be honest, I don’t want to give it any more play than it has gotten - you can find it on YouTube. (SusanUnPC has posted the video here last night in her story, “The Obama Campaign May Have Finished Itself Off Permanently — Through Utter Cruelty [Update].” Uppity Woman has a new story going up later tonight, and LisaB wrote about the ad earlier today, and quoted an insightful NYTimes story on McCain disability.).

In the ad, Obama attacks McCain for being in office since 1982, thus implying he’s been around too long. Apparently, he forgot that his own running mate has been in since 1973. No matter. That’s not the worst part, it’s just stupid. No, the worst part is when the ad mocks - yes, MOCKS - McCain for not being able to use a keyboard and send email, apparently trying to keep his youthful base. Well, that’s also kinda stupid insofar as some senior citizens might take offense, but that’s not the biggest issue with it. Ready? Here is it:

JOHN MCCAIN CANNOT TIE HIS SHOES OR EVEN COMB HIS HAIR MUCH LESS USE A KEYBOARD BECAUSE OF THE INJURIES HE SUSTAINED AS A POW!!! Seriously, he cannot raise his arms above his shoulders.

This is all pretty well known, which is what makes Obama’s latest ad not just offensive, but cruel and heartless.

How dare he mock this man who almost died in service to this country for not being able to do “hip” activities like use a keyboard when the man cannot even comb his hair!!!

What the hell is the MATTER with Obama??? This is so reminiscent of Saxby Chambliss attacking Max Cleland as being unpatriotic, except that Chambliss was not running to be COMMANDER IN CHIEF!!! If this is how Obama treats this war hero, how can any of our returning wounded veterans expect him to take their issues, their physical limitations, seriously??

There are many who are writing on this issue, and better than I, so I refer you to my favorite haunt, No Quarter, to see some of those pieces. But I saw a piece on this ad today that just stymied me. The title is: “Obama Gets Tough, Shoots Self in Head.” True that, but it was THIS sentence from that piece that really hit me:

“I’ve always thought that Barack Obama is unqualified for the office of President—he isn’t qualified to be a Senator, either—but I’ve never thought he was particularly mean-spirited. Until now.”

I’m sorry, WHAT? You never thought Obama was mean-spirited (though I applaud you for recognizing that he is not fit to hold elected office)? I have long thought he was, and he has shown it in any NUMBER of ways. Here are just a few: remember the “Harry and Louise” ads in which he completely misrepresented Hillary Clinton’s Universal Health Care message, as well as NAFTA, and how he dismissed her when she spoke out about the ads? Here’s a refresher:

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: After two of Sen. Barack Obama’s mailers, one on NAFTA and the other on health care, prompted Sen. Hillary Clinton to say, “Shame on you, Barack Obama,” Obama told reporters Clinton got “exercised this morning,” and that the notion that “somehow we are engaging in nefarious tactics, I think, is hard to swallow.”

Uh, no, no it isn’t.

Okay, that was mild, but still, shows his character. How about this one?

Or this:

Or how about this:

Don’t you just LOVE his mealy mouth attempts to claim this didn’t happen?? Claire McCaskill’s mouth does not look like she is saying a damn thing, Obama. And pictures don’t lie.

How about the ever-growing number of people he has thrown under the bus whenever it was politically expedient to do so, INCLUDING HIS OWN GRANDMOTHER? That doesn’t strike anyone as being mean-spirited?

Hell, I could go on and on and on, sadly. I just cannot believe that people are just NOW seeing how mean-spirited he IS. He has demonstrated it time and time again, but I guess since his minions were laughing, others thought maybe it was suppsoed to be funny.

Yeah, well, that freakin’ offensive as all-get-out ad was SUPPOSED to be funny - if he wasn’t making fun of someone for activities lost to him because of TORTURE!!!

Again, here is the one the DNC shoved down our throat. This mean-spirited, egotistical, arrogant, narcissistic, unqualified, inexperienced blowhard. Well done, DNC. You really know how to pick ‘em.

sheesh, how about that. Somehow this glaring fact seems to elude the media. How does the media keep up their ignorance. I know they must have media support groups for members who accidentally try and think for themselves.

YOU MUST READ THIS!!!!

ABC edited out multiple sections of the Palin Interview and her responses to make her appear ignorant and a war monger!

THose of you who saw the 20/20 interview would have noticed even ABC beginning to walk back from their youtube like bullshit from day 1 of the interview by rebroadcasting the answer on how energy independance affects foreign policy by palin, this time unedited and remarkable intelligent sounding:

abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=5793192

See it here and compare it to the one shown earlier where he cuts her off and says thats not foreign policy which is strangly not easily found on abc anymore.

Now here are three stories hitting about how much of the transcripts where left on the cutting room floor:

EXCERPTS: Charlie Gibson Interviews Sarah Palin (September 11, 2008)

THE BOLDED & UNDERLINED PARTS WERE EDITED OUT OF THE INTERVIEW

Let me repeat:

THE BOLDED & UNDERLINED PARTS WERE EDITED OUT OF THE INTERVIEW

Really?

THE BOLDED & UNDERLINED PARTS WERE EDITED OUT OF THE INTERVIEW

Holy SHit!!

THE BOLDED & UNDERLINED PARTS WERE EDITED OUT OF THE INTERVIEW

Ok on with the story:

GIBSON: Governor, let me start by asking you a question that I asked John McCain about you, and it is really the central question. Can you look the country in the eye and say “I have the experience and I have the ability to be not just vice president, but perhaps president of the United States of America?”

PALIN: I do, Charlie, and on January 20, when John McCain and I are sworn in, if we are so privileged to be elected to serve this country, will be ready. I’m ready.

GIBSON: And you didn’t say to yourself, “Am I experienced enough? Am I ready? Do I know enough about international affairs? Do I — will I feel comfortable enough on the national stage to do this?”

PALIN: I didn’t hesitate, no.

GIBSON: Didn’t that take some hubris?

PALIN: I — I answered him yes because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can’t blink, you have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we’re on, reform of this country and victory in the war, you can’t blink.

So I didn’t blink then even when asked to run as his running mate.

GIBSON: But this is not just reforming a government. This is also running a government on the huge international stage in a very dangerous world. When I asked John McCain about your national security credentials, he cited the fact that you have commanded the Alaskan National Guard and that Alaska is close to Russia. Are those sufficient credentials?

PALIN: But it is about reform of government and it’s about putting government back on the side of the people, and that has much to do with foreign policy and national security issues Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that’s with the energy independence that I’ve been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy, that I worked on as chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, overseeing the oil and gas development in our state to produce more for the United States.

GIBSON: I know. I’m just saying that national security is a whole lot more than energy.

PALIN: It is, but I want you to not lose sight of the fact that energy is a foundation of national security. It’s that important. It’s that significant.

GIBSON: Did you ever travel outside the country prior to your trip to Kuwait and Germany last year?

PALIN: Canada, Mexico, and then, yes, that trip, that was the trip of a lifetime to visit our troops in Kuwait and stop and visit our injured soldiers in Germany. That was the trip of a lifetime and it changed my life.

GIBSON: Have you ever met a foreign head of state?

PALIN: There in the state of Alaska, our international trade activities bring in many leaders of other countries.

GIBSON: And all governors deal with trade delegations.

PALIN: Right.

GIBSON: Who act at the behest of their governments.

PALIN: Right, right.

GIBSON: I’m talking about somebody who’s a head of state, who can negotiate for that country. Ever met one?

PALIN: I have not and I think if you go back in history and if you ask that question of many vice presidents, they may have the same answer that I just gave you. But, Charlie, again, we’ve got to remember what the desire is in this nation at this time. It is for no more politics as usual and somebody’s big, fat resume maybe that shows decades and decades in that Washington establishment, where, yes, they’ve had opportunities to meet heads of state … these last couple of weeks … it has been overwhelming to me that confirmation of the message that Americans are getting sick and tired of that self-dealing and kind of that closed door, good old boy network that has been the Washington elite.

GIBSON: Let me ask you about some specific national security situations.

PALIN: Sure.

GIBSON: Let’s start, because we are near Russia, let’s start with Russia and Georgia.

The administration has said we’ve got to maintain the territorial integrity of Georgia. Do you believe the United States should try to restore Georgian sovereignty over South Ossetia and Abkhazia?

PALIN: First off, we’re going to continue good relations with Saakashvili there. I was able to speak with him the other day and giving him my commitment, as John McCain’s running mate, that we will be committed to Georgia. And we’ve got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable and we have to keep…

GIBSON: You believe unprovoked.

PALIN: I do believe unprovoked and we have got to keep our eyes on Russia, under the leadership there. I think it was unfortunate. That manifestation that we saw with that invasion of Georgia shows us some steps backwards that Russia has recently taken away from the race toward a more democratic nation with democratic ideals. That’s why we have to keep an eye on Russia.

And, Charlie, you’re in Alaska. We have that very narrow maritime border between the United States, and the 49th state, Alaska, and Russia. They are our next door neighbors. We need to have a good relationship with them. They’re very, very important to us and they are our next door neighbor.

GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?

PALIN: They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

GIBSON: What insight does that give you into what they’re doing in Georgia?

PALIN: Well, I’m giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relation with all of these countries, especially Russia. We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it’s in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along.

Sarah Palin on Russia:

We cannot repeat the Cold War. We are thankful that, under Reagan, we won the Cold War, without a shot fired, also. We’ve learned lessons from that in our relationship with Russia, previously the Soviet Union.

We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it’s in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along.

GIBSON: Would you favor putting Georgia and Ukraine in NATO?

PALIN: Ukraine, definitely, yes. Yes, and Georgia.

GIBSON: Because Putin has said he would not tolerate NATO incursion into the Caucasus.

PALIN: Well, you know, the Rose Revolution, the Orange Revolution, those actions have showed us that those democratic nations, I believe, deserve to be in NATO.

Putin thinks otherwise. Obviously, he thinks otherwise, but…

GIBSON: And under the NATO treaty, wouldn’t we then have to go to war if Russia went into Georgia?

PALIN: Perhaps so. I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you’re going to be expected to be called upon and help.

But NATO, I think, should include Ukraine, definitely, at this point and I think that we need to — especially with new leadership coming in on January 20, being sworn on, on either ticket, we have got to make sure that we strengthen our allies, our ties with each one of those NATO members.

We have got to make sure that that is the group that can be counted upon to defend one another in a very dangerous world today.

GIBSON: And you think it would be worth it to the United States, Georgia is worth it to the United States to go to war if Russia were to invade.

PALIN: What I think is that smaller democratic countries that are invaded by a larger power is something for us to be vigilant against. We have got to be cognizant of what the consequences are if a larger power is able to take over smaller democratic countries.

And we have got to be vigilant. We have got to show the support, in this case, for Georgia. The support that we can show is economic sanctions perhaps against Russia, if this is what it leads to.

It doesn’t have to lead to war and it doesn’t have to lead, as I said, to a Cold War, but economic sanctions, diplomatic pressure, again, counting on our allies to help us do that in this mission of keeping our eye on Russia and Putin and some of his desire to control and to control much more than smaller democratic countries.

His mission, if it is to control energy supplies, also, coming from and through Russia, that’s a dangerous position for our world to be in, if we were to allow that to happen.

Sarah Palin on Iran and Israel:

GIBSON: Let me turn to Iran. Do you consider a nuclear Iran to be an existential threat to Israel?

PALIN: I believe that under the leadership of Ahmadinejad, nuclear weapons in the hands of his government are extremely dangerous to everyone on this globe, yes.

GIBSON: So what should we do about a nuclear Iran? John McCain said the only thing worse than a war with Iran would be a nuclear Iran. John Abizaid said we may have to live with a nuclear Iran. Who’s right?

PALIN: No, no. I agree with John McCain that nuclear weapons in the hands of those who would seek to destroy our allies, in this case, we’re talking about Israel, we’re talking about Ahmadinejad’s comment about Israel being the “stinking corpse, should be wiped off the face of the earth,” that’s atrocious. That’s unacceptable.

GIBSON: So what do you do about a nuclear Iran?

PALIN: We have got to make sure that these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them. So we have got to put the pressure on Iran and we have got to count on our allies to help us, diplomatic pressure.

GIBSON: But, Governor, we’ve threatened greater sanctions against Iran for a long time. It hasn’t done any good. It hasn’t stemmed their nuclear program.

PALIN: We need to pursue those and we need to implement those. We cannot back off. We cannot just concede that, oh, gee, maybe they’re going to have nuclear weapons, what can we do about it. No way, not Americans. We do not have to stand for that.

GIBSON: What if Israel decided it felt threatened and needed to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities?

PALIN: Well, first, we are friends with Israel and I don’t think that we should second guess the measures that Israel has to take to defend themselves and for their security.

GIBSON: So if we wouldn’t second guess it and they decided they needed to do it because Iran was an existential threat, we would cooperative or agree with that.

PALIN: I don’t think we can second guess what Israel has to do to secure its nation.

GIBSON: So if it felt necessary, if it felt the need to defend itself by taking out Iranian nuclear facilities, that would be all right.

PALIN: We cannot second guess the steps that Israel has to take to defend itself.

GIBSON: We talk on the anniversary of 9/11. Why do you think those hijackers attacked? Why did they want to hurt us?

PALIN: You know, there is a very small percentage of Islamic believers who are extreme and they are violent and they do not believe in American ideals, and they attacked us and now we are at a point here seven years later, on the anniversary, in this post-9/11 world, where we’re able to commit to never again. They see that the only option for them is to become a suicide bomber, to get caught up in this evil, in this terror. They need to be provided the hope that all Americans have instilled in us, because we’re a democratic, we are a free, and we are a free-thinking society.

GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?

PALIN: In what respect, Charlie?

GIBSON: The Bush — well, what do you — what do you interpret it to be?

PALIN: His world view.

GIBSON: No, the Bush doctrine, enunciated September 2002, before the Iraq war.

PALIN: I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are hell bent on destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made. And with new leadership, and that’s the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better.

GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us. Do you agree with that?

PALIN: I agree that a president’s job, when they swear in their oath to uphold our Constitution, their top priority is to defend the United States of America.

I know that John McCain will do that and I, as his vice president, families we are blessed with that vote of the American people and are elected to serve and are sworn in on January 20, that will be our top priority is to defend the American people.

GIBSON: Do we have a right to anticipatory self-defense? Do we have a right to make a preemptive strike again another country if we feel that country might strike us?

PALIN: Charlie, if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.

GIBSON: Do we have the right to be making cross-border attacks into Pakistan from Afghanistan, with or without the approval of the Pakistani government?

PALIN: Now, as for our right to invade, we’re going to work with these countries, building new relationships, working with existing allies, but forging new, also, in order to, Charlie, get to a point in this world where war is not going to be a first option. In fact, war has got to be, a military strike, a last option.

GIBSON: But, Governor, I’m asking you: We have the right, in your mind, to go across the border with or without the approval of the Pakistani government.

PALIN: In order to stop Islamic extremists, those terrorists who would seek to destroy America and our allies, we must do whatever it takes and we must not blink, Charlie, in making those tough decisions of where we go and even who we target.

GIBSON: And let me finish with this. I got lost in a blizzard of words there. Is that a yes? That you think we have the right to go across the border with or without the approval of the Pakistani government, to go after terrorists who are in the Waziristan area?

PALIN: I believe that America has to exercise all options in order to stop the terrorists who are hell bent on destroying America and our allies. We have got to have all options out there on the table.

Sarah Palin on God:

GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.” Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.

GIBSON: Exact words.

PALIN: But the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln’s words when he said — first, he suggested never presume to know what God’s will is, and I would never presume to know God’s will or to speak God’s words.

But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that’s a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God’s side.

That’s what that comment was all about, Charlie. And I do believe, though, that this war against extreme Islamic terrorists is the right thing. It’s an unfortunate thing, because war is hell and I hate war, and, Charlie, today is the day that I send my first born, my son, my teenage son overseas with his Stryker brigade, 4,000 other wonderful American men and women, to fight for our country, for democracy, for our freedoms.

Charlie, those are freedoms that too many of us just take for granted. I hate war and I want to see war ended. We end war when we see victory, and we do see victory in sight in Iraq.

GIBSON: I take your point about Lincoln’s words, but you went on and said, “There is a plan and it is God’s plan.”

Thanks for posting this Rev. Wright.
Can’t McCain and especially Palin choose a journalist with some credibility to interview them. Especially since Palin is in so much demand.
This is absolutely ridiculous.
They need to go over the heads of the Obamamedia.
Get Brokaw (I have no idea if he would be impartial and fair or not), or someone who actually has a reputation as a sound journalist.
Are there any left?

It is editing, but not for time or a repeated question, it is edited for content, and if this isn’t editing with a clear bias then I don’t know what is.
No worry, the McCain campaign is very clever in their choice of VP, their campaigning together, the ads attacking the precious and captain morgan, what they have created is a situation where the democrats are reacting, not attacking. When they react, they are playing defense and reinforcing the point the attack made.

It was shameful: there was NO TIME-LINE to the interview.
It was not that they taped it and split it say in 3 complete pieces and aired each. It was cut into a

Do not count him out. Nothing is sure until the counting is done. And being a self admitted fat lady I shall wait to sing.

Let us all take a day to talk to some one about this election. Work for someone running for office. And if you can give a couple of bucks to John McCain or take a walk on his behalf. Call the local McCain HQ I bet they have signs for your yard.

Make this election a clean and clear victory for John McCain. I think you will be pleased where he we take us as a nation.

This has to be the bowels of American that is showing now, do these people not know the entire world is viewing our politics, our media and how we just handle this political scenario.

The women are the worse, all of them those on the vie, the one that said Palin should ’suck it” and now this from Rhodes they are all sick maybe menopause is getting the better of them and a bit of woman envy is setting in as Palin is so hot.

Rhodes is disgusting, but that comment will help the McCain/Palin ticket tremendously.

Every time the American public hears this type of bile from the left, the contrast between the bitter, cruel, heartless, slandering leftists, and that extraordinary, upright, forthright, principled, strong Governor named Sarah Palin becomes even more clear.

Obama and his thugs keep making themselves smaller and McCain and Palin bigger.

I wonder if Randi Rhodes is actually a Karl Rove plant. :-) I doubt it, but she coudln’t help get McCain/Palin any more if she was.

Obama Bots must be proud !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000):

McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.

Obama: “somehow we are engaging in nefarious tactics, I think, is hard to swallow.”

Obama, his campaign, and his dizzy breathless supporters did character assassination on the Clintons; both with the race-card and repeatedly accusing Hillary Clinton of being a liar.

Now the in-a-tizzy-leftists are freaking out at The One’s dropping poll numbers and frantically attempting to infect the discourse with “McCain and Palin are liars.”

O course we’ve seen this method used before - I can’t wait for the coming McCain/Palin smack down on BO’s nasty surreptitious game of slander.

I have a feeling the Democrats had better slow down with their rumor mill. Most of what they are putting out there is so outer space rumors that they are not only shooting themselves in the foot but shooting themselves in the head.

I knew when they kept quite about the way Clinton was being treated someone was losing it. Then when they didnt make her VP (Which Im so glad they didnt).

As long as the polls were good to them it was ok…and not they are putting so much slimy garbage out there I dont think there are any DNC/Democratic Garbage men that can get it cleaned up.

Boy I dont think I will ever admit I was ever a Democrat.

How Team Obama Pays Women

In short, these statistics suggest that John McCain is more than fair with his female employees, while Barack Obama — at the expense of the women who work for him — quietly perpetuates the very same pay-equity divide that he loudly denounces. Of all people, the Democratic standard bearer should understand that equal pay begins at home.

In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate’s savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. “She’s a whiz on the keyboard, and I’m so laborious,” McCain admits. “

Comment by Noah | 2008-09-13 16:37:47

McCain is just starting to learn to use the computer, which is kind of strange since he wants to become the most powerful person in the world.

So the ad is a bit misleading, it should have said he’s just starting to learn to use a computer, not that he can’t use one at all. I give you that.

But saying that McCain is physically incapable of using a computer is totally false, as proven by those links I posted earlier. I might ad that the LA Times blogger who originally spread the idea that McCain is physically incapable of using a computer is a former aide to Laura Bush, which means he can hardly be counted on to be objective.

Look, I’m an Obama supporter, and I even think that ad was problematic, not where you do though. I think it could simply be viewed as being a mean ad because it picks on an old man, and plenty of people in the U.S. can’t use computers (my parents included) so I think that was a total misstep on the Obama campaign’s part.

However, you are spreading lies by repeating the myth that McCain is incapable of using a computer.

This is the way I would do the response to OBama’s email ad.

Sarah Palin walking fast toward the camera, with camera going backwards.
“Senator Obama says Senator McCain doesn’t do email.
senator McCain reads emails and dictates email.”

Sarah Palin stops, looks into the camera and Says:
“Senator Obama, do you know why Senator McCain doesn’t type his emails? He lost some of his finger mobility in his service to the country. You wouldn’t know a thing about that, would you?”

Palin resumes walking and walks briskly into the camera.

“There are millions of my fellow countrymen and women who don’t do emails. They are as much American as anyone and are the bedrock of this country. I am Sarah Palin and I speak for them and for Senator McCain.”

That should finish off Obama campaign.

You want to know why Obama is spending a lot of time in NH?

Just released:

ZOGBY: New Hamshire - McCain 49.1, Obama 42.8

State: New Hampshire

Updated: 9/13/2008

Summary: McCain - 49.1% Obama - 42.8% Not Sure/Other - 8.1%

“Still very close here. In a state that loves John McCain, and handed Obama a bruising defeat, McCain has a higher favorability rating.”

Electoral Votes: 4, Too close to call

Full crosstab data from New Hampshire is available to subscribers to the 2008 Presidential polling package.

Methodology: Zogby International conducted an online survey of 433 likely voters. The poll ran from Sept. 9-12. It carries a margin of error of +/- 4.8 percentage points.

BO screwed up big time in his ad poking fun at John McCain’s lack of computer savvy. Obama & his campaign are traveling down a slippery slope with this insult against a man who spent nearly 6 years as a POW & who, as a consequence of enduring extreme torture, cannot use a keyboard.

The “old warrior” will have the final say and will win the election on Nov 4. That’s because this country is not ready for a mean-spirited, dishonest narcissist, patron of street thugs to assume the office of POTUS.

Lets see now Obama cant take the time to visit our injured service men while in Germany — Now Obama is making fun of an injured service man because his injuries prevent him from preforming certain tasks.

Too much tea-leaf reading??? Did he say that?

What do you call it when Hillary merely mentions that past primaries have gone into June as an example of why her staying in the race wasn’t unusual became “HILLARY IS CALLING FOR B HUSSEIN WINFREY TO BE ASSASSINATED”

Comment by whoframedrudy | 2008-09-13 16:39:10

“The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us.”

I thought the Bush Doctrine was that if you harbor terrorists, you are the same as the terrorists. So Palin was right to clarify the question.

Comment by jangles | 2008-09-13 17:44:33

Be sure to read Charles Krauthammer on this issue. He is actually the writer who first used the term “Bush Doctrine”. He says Palin was absolutely write to ask what aspect but goes on to say that Gibson’s definition that he gave to her was wrong.

Obama is using the same tactics used during the primaries. First they cry racism. Now they are calling the McCain campaign devisive and negative. Can’t they try something new?

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-09-13 18:08:46

Everyone’s sick of the race-baiting, and McCain has run a clean campaign.

Obama going with not just the kitchen sink strategy now, but the plumbing, and the gutters, too.

Obama is DESPERATE!

The swing states are moving for McCain and once Democratic strongholds, are now up for grabs.

But we can’t sit back on our heels! We MUST stand up and fight against Obama, but do it in the right way, because you know the media is in the tank for BO.

Expect more personal attacks and hot air rhetoric from Obama and company. They are in a downward spiral and about to crash.

Comment by kinthenorthwest | 2008-09-13 16:50:30

For some reason I have a feeling that BIll is probably laughing about all of the polls turning against Obama.
Obama has treated both of them like pieces of crap.

Okay, I’ve got a good troll story for you.

We have the same ones at gretawire that come by every day that are obviously not even Americans (terms like “Republican Rulers” and calling Bristol Palin’s pregnancy being “hit up” are a couple of the tip offs). They do the new names thing…like BobinGA, MistyinTN, another tip off. It’s like the three stooges, the Moe troll is a bit smarter, but then there are the other two.

So people were engaging this afternoon with GazaMoe I’ll call him. He fancied himself from newyorkcity today. No, not NYC, which most people would put, the spelled out as I put it designation.

It is no secret from the posts I was making in between that I am not amused by Obama.

GazaMoe is going off on Bush like they do and said “your government takes money from oil companies..blah blah blah”.

So I said, “YOUR GOVERNMENT? newyorkcity indeed!”

The others were catching on (only takes a new person a few days really, but they patiently spar with them until they figure it out). “Are you even an American?” someone asked.

*crickets*

Finally, GazaMoe says, I’ve lived here all my life.

“And I’m Ed Koch!” I replied.

GazaMoe, “I don’t know, maybe you are.”

(yeah, because Ed Koch does sooooo much campaigning for Republicans…lol)

Can’t wait for GazaCurlyJoe to return later to lecture us on how many planes McCain crashed and how he cheated on his wife with pill popping Cindy.

Man, they need some new material. Their Obots R Us Talkin Points N Lies N Stuff lists are getting stale.

The latest from my on-going debate on the Obama blogs regarding the new ads, apparently, again, as in the primaries, ‘truth is not a factor’ for his supporters:

Stop Donating Until Obama Grows A Pair | Report to Admin Reply

I suggest that Obama supporters stop donating to this useless money pit (campaign) until Obama starts attacking McCain. Memo to Obama: A tough ad is an ad that questions McCain’s Integrity, Character, or Honor. A smart tough ad is an ad that questions McCain’s Integrity, Character, or Honor and is relevant to middle class voter’s economic or security interest. Truth is not a factor.

Apparently they are still grasping for straws and think that issues are no longer important (since he has no record to run on geniuses), that all smart people are already convinced that Obama is our savior and just the ‘insects’ don’t get it:

Man, you just don’t get it! You are still focused on issues. Those of us that use reason, logic, common sense, etc, etc, etc,…ISSUES to decide for whom to vote are already voting for Obama. I am taking about influencing the undecided or right leaning insects(err voters).

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-09-13 18:15:35

As with all fascist and/or charismatic predecessors in the world who thought they might Rule The World, maliciousness and cruelty are just part of the personality. That cruel streak gemerally spills over into the followers, generally also attracts young people who resent not having power over adults, while being financially dependent with an entitlement attitude. Look how well he manipulated his followers and surrogates to do his evil for him, voice his evil thoughts for him! Were you REALLY surprised that FISA attracted him? Really?

His mean-spirit is no surprise when you thnk of it that way. And the more power over others he got, the meaner he and his followers got….an omen of who he really is and what he would be capable of if he were to acquire the Ultimate Power. How many of you have seen forums where there are diaries or messages showing total hatred of old people, women, those who work with their hands? The fact that this two-legged demon is self-destructing is a major blessing for the world.

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-09-13 20:33:07

Oh, absolutely, Uppity. I knew that who Obama was would be revealed eventually. WE certainly knew it sooner, but now, other people should see it, too. He is not a nice man, to put it mildly.

THe thing abt this ad is that you know they are going to try and claim it was just abt age. That’s okay, right? TO be ageist? Why not - they’ve been so damn sexist this year. So, they were just showing off to the youngsters how HIP Obama is. Well, you know damn well that they knew McCain was physically incapable of doing those activities on a aregular basis. It was just cruel, heartless, and very, very telling. I hope every military person, veteran or active, sees this, thus SEEING Obama.

And this is the man who wants to be C-i-C. Right.

ABC Busted On Hiding Sarah Palin’s Full Answers- Updated with abc news contarct url

NewsBusters has the detailed and a link to the original transcript, but a teaser of the type of
things ABC deliberately didn’t show the viewing public is below: (Contact Form to ABC below the post, in case some want to ask them why they cut out important portions of Palin’s answers)

Next we see that Palin was not nearly as hostile towards Russia as was presented in the edited interview:

We also see from Palin’s following remark, which was also edited out, that she is far from some sort of latter day Cold Warrior which the edited interview made her seem to be:

We cannot repeat the Cold War. We are thankful that, under Reagan, we won the Cold War, without a shot fired, also. We’ve learned lessons from that in our relationship with Russia, previously the Soviet Union.

We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it’s in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along.

The portion that NewsBusters put in bold are whole segments of Palin’s answers that they just edited out and didn’t make available to the public.

All interviews are edited but the bias shown in how the interview was presented to the American public in relation to the actual answers that were given by Palin, shows an incredible amount of behind the scenes deliberation to show the public only what they wanted them to see instead of what the public wanted to see, which was all of Palin’s answers.

NewsBusters has much more information on removed segments of Sarah Palin’s answers.

Read the whole interview to see how ABC has tried to play the public.

I am adding the contact URL for ABC News, so people who see how much of Palin’s answers were deliberately hid from the viewing public, can ask them why they felt the need to hide Sarah Palin’s full answers from people that depended on the television interview to get the answers about Palin they were seeking.

. Now why would Charlie Gibs …Fair? No he isn’t why would he leave out what Sarah Palin had said. Here is the full of what Sarah Palin said.So why would Charlie Gibson leave this out, huh? It shows that she is so much far better then Obama to handle what ever comes her way.

Mccain /Palin 08

If McCain can’t comb his own hair, that must mean he can’t scratch his head if it itches either. My head itches all the time. Wow… talk about torture.

Who shampoos his hair, I wonder?

Think maybe Bill and Hillary might have some “friends” helping the Obama campaign? Maybe Bill loaned him the gun that he just shot himself in the foot with during “the meeting.” Turn about is fair play, 2012 will be here before we know it.

I also saw where someone from a Hillary blog posted the questions Gibson asked Obama and then the questions Gibson asked Palin. Stark difference.

It’s over at the Anchoress blog.

Cheers, nice blog, nice people.
