Impending Electoral Disaster: NY, NJ, MN, PA, OH, MI
By Truthteller on September 15, 2008 at 6:45 PM in DNC idiocy, Democrats, Electability, Electoral College, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Presidential Candidates
| New York | New Jersey | Minnesota | Pennsylvania | Ohio | |
| McCain-Palin | 41 | 45 | 45 | 47 | 48 |
| Obama-Biden | 46 | 48 | 45 | 47 | 45 |
Barack Obama is not the “map changer” CNN and all the discredited Democratic blogs claimed he would be; he is a supercilious underachiever who promises to color the entire nation red, not blue. He is tied with McCain in Minnesota and Pennsylvania; he is trailing McCain in Ohio AND MICHIGAN; he is CLINGING to a lead in New Jersey; and women in New York state are abandoning the Democratic ticket, thereby catapulting McCain-Palin within striking distance of Obama-Biden in a state Gore and Kerry won by 25 and 17 points respectively: portentous numbers, these, but the Democratic Party refused to listen when we warned them about this during the primary season. Democrats, I guess, want to lose. Indeed, they seem to enjoy it.
So now Obama must invest precious and finite resources in states such as New Jersey and New York. And instead of campaigning in Arkansas, Nevada, Florida or Louisiana, he will hold events in Minnesota, a state that should be solidly Democratic in the current political climate. He may even have to campaign in New York now that McCain is within five points of the underperforming Obama. A Democratic strategist quoted in the New York Post article I cite above summarizes this state of affairs succinctly. I quote:
“If it winds up being tight in New York, that means McCain wins the election nationally,” said a prominent Democrat familiar with some of the polling data.
I hope Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, Donna Brazile and all the venal bloggers and operatives who manufactured support for Obama online are satisfied. For once McCain wins, and he will win, it will be time for real Democrats who enjoy winning elections to reform OUR presently defunct Party apparatus from within and from without. We have worked too hard for this Party to allow them to squander opportunity after opportunity in order to satisfy the warped desires of a small band of elitist mediocrities who again and again take those of us who comprise the Democratic base for granted.

I’m a huge McKinney fan, but the idea of turning NY red in a protest vote sounds awesome. Don’t think the repubs could pull it off, though, too many upstaters have fled south for jobs/retirement.
Hillary must be LOVING this shit! I know I am!
Her 2012 campaign is basically running itself.
<blockquoteHillary must be LOVING this shit! I know I am!
Can you just imagine Bill and Hillary sipping on a Martini with a big shit-eating grin on their faces!
…and can you imagine Dean, Pelosi and Reid reaching for the Immodium!
They’re still in the denial stage of their grief…from the Obamabots I know, they’re saying that Obama’s supporters are all young and have cellphones, THAT’S why they’re not included in the polls. You wait come November, Obama’s gonna win!
And I think a pig just flew by my window…with lipstick on.
President Hillary Clinton 2012!!!
That’s an image that brings a smile to my face.
There’s a smile on mine too!
I always felt that there is a large conservative base outside of New York City. Even New York City is not just Democrats. Remember, Pataki ran the state for 12 years until 2006. His Successor Eliot Spitzer… well, what can you say about a democratic reform candidate who pledged “to change the ethics of Albany” and then turned out to be just another dirty politician.
His successor started his time as Governor admitting to extramarital affairs.
And some of you people would be surprised if voters in NY would not flock to a reform candidate who promises the world and pledges “to change the ethics of Washington”???
The empty heads running the DNC thought this election was a “gimme”. They thought they could run any idiot and win. So they did. And they’re not winning. Gee… what a surprise.
Kinda reaffirms your faith in the American people, doesn’t it?
It sure does!
a beer and a shot!
That’s certainly true. If this trend holds for the next six weeks, then Hillary will be in the catbird’s seat for 2012. Just imagine the waves of recrimination that will ripple throughout the Democratic Party after a McCain win.
“Oh Hillary! We’re SO sorry. We let ourselves get taken in by this shameless shill and treated you like dirt. PLEASE come put this party back together!”
You guys need to move away from the Howard Deans and Nancy Pelosis of the world, and losing the election will give moderate Democrats all the excuse they need to clean house.
dan — I think Hillary will be the new majority leader of the Senate if the Dems hold the Senate - heads are gonna roll in the party and anyone who was not involved in this debacle will be rewarded.
You may very well be right. I would definitely love to see Hillary replace that scum-sucking dickhead Harry Reid as majority leader.
As I noted on another blog entry a few days ago, Hillary will be in a very tough bind even if she’s offered the post of Senate Democratic leader. First off, she will have to make a BIG decision regarding 2012. Her current Senate term ends Jan 3, 2013. If she decides to run for President and wins the nomination, she’ll likely have to resign from the Senate. Bob Dole did just that in 1996 after clinching the GOP nomination and many Democrats were concerned that Dole might be tempted to use his position for political gain. Given that precedent and the standard overriding fear that Hillary’s “too ambitious”, there’s little chance that Hillary would remain in a Senate leadership post. (There is, of course, the possibility that New York allows a candidate to run for two positions at the same time, but I don’t think Hillary would want to face the problem of running 2 campaigns against 2 different candidates for 2 different jobs.)
The second problem as I see it is that no Senate leader (either from the majority or the minority) has sought to run for the White House, so soon after assuming a leadership post (much less when he would be in a position whether to keep the Senate seat or go for the White House). If her fellow Democrats are certain that Hillary intends to run for the White House again in 2012 (presuming that Obama loses this year), they would most likely NOT want her as their leader–nothing against Hillary per se, but they’d likely want someone who’d be more willing to stay in the Senate for many more years; most of those who ascend to a Senate leadership role tend to have been in the Senate for well over a decade.
Don’t forget the Kucinich people they flocked to the Obamamites party in droves because they would NEVA and I say Neva vote for a HAWK like Hillary.
fuckers!
I love McCain/Palin more and more everyday!
If Tina Fey will do regular appearances on SNL that’s worth a vote for McCain/Palin right there. Don’t you think?
The brutal irony is that, if the ticket were CLINTON-OBAMA, every single one of those states would be won in a walk by the Democrats, and we’d be looking forward to sixteen years of Democratic executive leadership.
Instead, the Democrats, my former party, are so hell-bent on being RIGHT that they’ve separated from the constituents that gave them power in the first place. Instead of a victory, they’ll be lucky to hang on to the legislature and make a few small gains there.
That is just what Hillary proposed in March… Obama and his surrogates just laughed at her then.
I want to know when Slate will put up an Obama campaign death watch similar to the one they had for Hillary… I don’t think it will ever happen… I wonder why?
There just all so smart over there at slate, they just have it all figured out you know.
Thats just too bad as well. I once regarded them highly. Not anymore. Idiots.
Well, while I do believe that a Clinton-Obama ticket would have won hands down in a landslide, I still believe that Obama is a loser. I would like to see a better AA candidate win the presidency or vice presidency some day. Someone the whole country can point to with pride. Someone with an actual record of accomplishment, someone who earned the job for him/herself through hard work and hard knocks. Someone with character and integrity. Unfortunately, Barry is not the one.
Also, I don’t think Hillary is actually :loving this shit!!” I believe she must be very, very sad…and depressed…more for our country than for herself at the moment.
But there are enough Upstate New Yorkers left who wont vote for Obama.
Most of the over 40 crowd I talk to whether at work or personal friends are NOT voting for Obama. Their main reason: his inexperiance scares the bejesus out of them. They think the top of the ticket should have more experiance than the bottom.
Yep we are hicks, but we know Obama is not the one to lead this country.
You are right. I’m 41 and will NOT be voting for Obama. Oh, and I’m also a black female.
Did anyone notice the difference in how the NYC firefighters reacted to Senator and Mrs McCain and backtrack?
You don’t think they remember wright’s preachings?
After watching that video my reaction was
Backtrack don’t bet the mansion on New York.
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMBAS,BUBBAS, AND THOSE PEOPLE RULE
NY has a great history of electing RNC mayors and Governors.
Let us all work for a Red NY this year as a Gift to liberate Senator Clinton From the likes of Dean et al.
That makes 2012 a story we can write together with Senator Clinton.
The nation needs a shaking common sense and Country First need to be our Mantra.

Patti,
You walked right into that.
Sometimes it’s best to ignore the trolls.
I know but couldnt help myself. I try to be nice.
“He may even have to campaign in New York now that McCain is within five points of the underperforming Obama.”
Quite true: Obama’s lead in New York state is as large as McCain’s lead in the most symbolic Battleground, Florida. He has to inject some cash there, if only to maintain his lead…
New York/New Jersey tv market really burns cash fast.
New York is a swing state now? This is getting beyond absurd. Bill Clinton was right. This is a weird election.
Everyone line up for the Bob Fosse finish!
Big smiles! High kicks!
“Those bitter town blues
Are melting away
Obama’s made a big ol’ mess of it
In old New York…
And if McCain can make there
He’s gonna make it everywhere
It’s up to you
New York, New York!”
LOL, very good.
I LOVE this!!
It wasn’t a wierd election until Dean/Brazilenut/DNC gave the nomination to Obama.
and this part of CA here as yet I have not seen one Obama sign all McCain and Palin…
Do we know the poll results for CA? I guess it’s still Blue?
Lived in NY for 47 years and have been saying since April if they continue to screw Hillary and Bill they just might lose in NY.
D’Amato, Pataki, Guiliani and other reps have won repeatedly. Same with California - Arnie got the Gov job there, business as usual, may the best candidate prevail. American Independent voters are all the rage in this age of cynicism towards candidates and party line, it is the new norm.
In a close race like this we aren’t married to our party affiliation, there are too many factors, many of which involve our national safety and our wallets, to just blindly vote Dem.
NY’ers are high information voters, they also love their senator and that guy she married.
In the next few weeks we should pummel the swing state newspaper editorials and blogs with our messages. The obots are paid to, we do it FREE.
If Obamacus blows this Reid/Pelosi/Dean will definitely see challanges to their leadership, and rightfully so.
How about Hillary as Senate Majority Leader? That would crush Obama like a tissue. Not only would he have to deal with a crushing presidential defeat, but now has to serve his last year in the senate under Hillary’s leadership thumb. I think Obama would resign before having to face that.
Don’t feed my dreams.
Good one!
Oh, wow… talk about Kharma.
The thought sends a pleasant tingle up my leg.

I had to watch it out of curiosity. That was so scary, but it made me laugh. Kind of like the clown in the pediatric ward when I had my tonsils removed and still felt loopy from the anesthesia.
Sec State in a McCain admin is my best guess, follows his promise of a mixed cabinet, HRC has the international contacts and foreign policy experience and it would really stick it to the DNC if she accepts the nomination.
What leadership? What is the DNC made of, Lemmings?
Oh, if Obama would lose New York– now that would be beautiful…
I’m doing my bit.
I’m doing mine too, and I sure would like to see Hillary as a Senate majority leader who would pledge to work with John McCain to get the country on course again.
(And wouldn’t we all love to see the Senate in session with Sarah Palin presiding–as she will as VP–Hillary as Majority Leader, and The One sulking in the back next to Claire M.?)
I say a little prayer every night that I’ll get to see Ms Pit Bull wielding the gavel in the US Senate. I can’t wait.
OMG! I hadn’t even thought about that! I like that image.
GREAT SCENARIO! I’ve got my fingers crossed and saying my prayers.
Thats Ms Hockey Mom in the Senate!
Obama=McGovern 2008.
Excellent!! Obama is in a downward spiral!! All he has left is negative attacks!!
Check out latest poll from Michigan!!
MICHIGAN
McCain 45%
Obama 44%
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/mi/michigan_mccain_vs_obama-553.html
Obama is taking on water and sinking fast.
Let’s keep the pressure on Ozero!
NO RETREAT!!
McCain-Palin ‘08
Hillary 2012
Now his thugs will have to go to work big time.
More negative ads from Obama will be like drilling a hole in the boat to let the water out.
It must be so frustrating for the Democrats to have their tactics backfire this way.
After all, the Republicans have used the same methods for decades with great success–and been called political geniuses for doing so.
And now this! A video on youtube where Obomb-a touts his connection with Ayers. When this is all over he will be lucky to carry Hawii.
youtube.com/watch?v=D-45A6I-N5I&eurl=http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=75384
I love the sound track, it sounds like the “lord of the rings” orc theme
Don’t forget this:
Intrade Market Odds: McCain 51.4 - Obama 47.5
The best poll of all…Intrade!
If you follow sports books, they are on target.
Just wait and see how the numbers tumble for Obama after the Sept 26th debates.
Maybe on Sept 27th, Axelrod will have Bambi do another tour of Europe, or Daschel will make another statement that if Obama doesn’t win, he will pick up a phone and make one call to bring out all the thugs to protest, like he threatened before the convention.
And rumour has it that Dean and Leahy will hold America hostage by increasing the price of maple syrup if Obama doesn’t win!
There will be a huge TV audience for that first Presidential debate.
McCain is ready. Obama is crapping in his underoos.
He’ll be ok after a few puffs on a crack pipe. Yeah, that will mellow him out real good. Keep an eye on HIS eyes. They will be a dead give-away.
BETCHA!
Yeah they are slanted when he’s stoned and his lips are extra purpley.
Axelgrease is having Barry read Debates for Dummies. How appropriate.
Did Tom Daschle say that? About bringing out the thugs? Seriously, the people backing Obama are truly corrupt and totalitarian.
btw- whatever happened to Daschle? Not that I miss him or anything.
not the maple syrup!
And Ben and Jerry’s (although under new ownership) will have their dairy cows on strike.
No Chunky Monkey for Alaska.
They were so in the tank for ob.
Damn it, why hasn’t anyone done a California poll? The last poll I could find is a PPI poll that was done on August 28th. I want to see what CA is looking like now that Palin’s on the ticket.
hmm, maybe they haven’t released one on purpose because it doesn’t favor Obama?? Bad press for him if he is even close there. Makes ya wonder.
I’d like a California poll. I haven’t seen one Obama/Biden bumper sticker - and this is car heaven.
I noticed that too while in CA last week. One of the reasons could be that Californians drive nice cars and they may not want a crappy bumper sticker that reads Obama/Biden….it devalues the price of the car even more.
well all I have seen are McCain & Palin signs none for Obama here : I am sure there out there somewhere but not as one would expect.
BTW, the original comment about the Cali polls was mine. I don’t know why my autoform filled out only “John” instead of John House when I made the comment. I know there are other Johns on this board, so I was just clarifying.
I would love it if Obama beats the record of most states lost… Yes, Recreate ‘68, heh.
It would be Recreate ‘72, because 1972 is the year McGovern made just about the entire country red, LOL.
Even as much money as Obama has, he still doesn’t have enough to cover all the states he is losing in. And add to that it hasn’t done him much good in alot of states, let him spend it all and all of his shady, crooked scummy friends w him.
Well, it seems as if he has to spend 3 or 4 to one…
What makes me angry? Thief make me angry. That’s why I am so angry with Barack Obama’s campaign.
WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Obama is a map changer. The map is changing daily.
and not in the direction all the venal, mediocre, compromised and idiotic boys online promised.
Change we need…
Without the DNC and their left wing kooks
and
the DLC and the voice of moderates
The DNC is going to throw the Mother of All Tantrums, when O’Barky loses.
The DLC will “Cross the Aisle” and work with McCain/Palin.
The end of partisanship as we now know it. It’s almost worthy of a Dean scream. (almost)
They have to quit taking money from Soros

Lefties Entering Stage 2 of Dealing with Loss: Anger
—Ace
And threats. Oh, the threats.
Stage one was denial.
Now we’re at anger.
Did I mention: Threats?
Maybe it’s a transitional thing between stage 2 and stage 3: Deal making/bargaining.
I disagree with many of his sub-points, but Russ Smith touches on an emerging storyline: the certain combination of acute anger, despair and bitterness on the left if McCain’s late comeback snatches victory away from Obama in the homestretch of this incredibly long and intense campaign. The response to Kerry’s defeat was muted by the fact that few liberals were especially smitten with him to begin with. But the fallout this time could be pretty raw stuff.
Plus: Dark hints that an Obama loss can only be explained by prejudice. And what implications does that have for society? Better to not find out, I’d say.
Barack Obama for President
Or else there will be “raw stuff,” if you know what I’m saying, and I think you do.

So when you say McCain is being brillant by being a gentleman and taking the high road, forgive me if I respectfully disagree …
Your little demonstration doesn’t include the words “thug” and “punk.” 0bama and his neglgible “resume” = thug and punk when he goes negative.
But “thug” and “punk” leaves little room for pushover, which what Obama is in the end.
from The Corner on National Review Online:
McCain Responds to Obama’s Reported Undermining of the Commander-In-Chief During Wartime[Andy McCarthy]
The McCain Campaign has issued a statement responding to the report from Amer Taheri (see today’s web briefing) that Sen. Obama secretly negotiated with the Iraqi government regarding U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. McCain spokesman Randy Scheunemann stated as follows:
At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. It should be concerning to all that he reportedly urged that the democratically-elected Iraqi government listen to him rather than the US administration in power. If news reports are accurate, this is an egregious act of political interference by a presidential candidate seeking political advantage overseas. Senator Obama needs to reveal what he said to Iraq’s Foreign Minister during their closed door meeting. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama’s judgment and it demands an explanation.
I think this could snowball. This is VERY serious though with everything Bush has done, I can’t get too excited. But that was with the Democrats sitting on their collective asses. The Republicans could very well go after Obama on this.
Waht Oblahma did was a violation of the LOGAN ACT.
memo to BHO
Charlie don’t surf

But I sure as hell vote
I agree with you. Nice guys don’t win. At heart, McCain has to know this. But, he’s been a politician for so long, I don’t know if he remembers. Then again, Obama is getting mean and nasty. I would be shocked if McCain tries to be a ‘gentleman’ to the end. In the old days, ‘gentleman’ wasn’t synonymous with ’sheep’.
And the funny thing is, a colleague of mine was just saying this evening that he’s tired of Obama being a mama’s boy and not hitting McCain hard, while McCain attacks with apparent impunity.
I was wondering if we were watching the same set of campaigns.
Since this comment, I’ve seen McCain respond pretty well.
When Obama tries to link McCain to Limbaugh, and then outright lies about what Limbaugh has said to make McCain seem like he is an anti-hispanic racist, then I think it’s pretty clear that Obama has gone into ‘mean and nasty, and full-on liar’ mode.
It seems like all you do is declare the loser the nice guy. Hardly the case.
Yeah JM08:
You really want to keep attacking, when you’ve got them on the run!
You don’t win in Presidential politics by being a “Gentleman”.
You keep attacking and hammering.
You keep the Big Mo with you.
Some of us get it JM08.
jm 08 –
EXCELLENT POINT I shall make it tomorrow night as I go to McCain HQ in Crystal City.
Yup, might be a trend here.
JM08 Isn’t Obama supposed to be the “nice guy”? When Obama voted for FISA, KO said he didn’t really mean it and he had a “secret plan” to deal with retro ammunity. Does he have a plan to be nice after the election?
i think you may have a point… but barkO is still batkO…
JM08,
The media and others report that JM is indeed being the aggressor in this case, and that “o” holy is being above it all…
Why are you so worried?
I’m in NY and I’m definitely going to do my part to send Obummer back to Chicago.
Nobama!
No way!
No how!
Let’s paint the state red!
…firecracker red, like Hillary’s pantsuit. wicked.
A PRETTY DEEP SHADE OF RED…
Boo-yah! And my congratulations to all the Democrats in this great land who have the testicular fortitude to vote for a Republican presidential candidate when they come to know that their party has been captured by people who do not begin to know what Democrat is.
I am worried John Mccain will lose. Obama still has a better ground operation than the mccain Camp. In Ohio, the mccain Camp sent out over a million ballots that were not properly sign. All this mess has to be corrected. The JM camp needs to get serious or Obama will win by absentee ballots. Remember absentee voting begins on September 30th. The Obama camp plans to busss in 1000s of people to vote absentee.
Why are more talk shows host not talking about this september 30 early voting date.
yupper! let’s hope that McCain is on top of that…
BS, the ground game is up, just like the race card…
Obama’s ground game consisted of gaming the caucuses. He used his community organizing principles in the field. That voter fraud which was rampant in the Democratic primaries is what we need to watch.
I think the ground game is more than that, and I’m concerned that the Obama campaign is doing a better job than the McCain campaign.
The ground game right now involves registering voters and other GOTV activities. Both sides need to get their people to go to the polls, vote absentee, etc. Turnout is important, and every year, many people don’t vote because they think it won’t matter. Additionally, there are those voters in the middle who might not have a strong feeling about either candidate, that are targets for convincing.
While we are at it we are ref oming the Republican party as well! This is a great thing 4 America!
Comment by John | 2008-09-15 19:09:32
Damn it, why hasn’t anyone done a California poll? The last poll I could find is a PPI poll that was done on August 28th. I want to see what CA is looking like now that Palin’s on the ticket.
******
Probably Oblahblah’s campaign is telling pollsters not to poll CA for fear of what it’ll look like.
From what’s I’ve heard, and take it with a grain of salt, McCain campaign internals have shown anywhere from 5-10 pts behind.
That was me and thanks.
Five to ten actually isn’t that bad (five would be better, naturally). It’d just be nice to see California also in the same category as the states listed above in the original post. So nice. *dreams*
While we are at it we are reforming the Republican party as well! This is a great thing 4 America!
Someone was just telling me today that crossover voters like myself should take advantage of the opportunity to be heard by the campaign’s leadership and provide feedback on what we’d like to see during the next 4 years.
The thought being, McCain has enough of a mind of his own that he just might be open to some positions a more “party line” Republican might hesitate to touch.
Rasmussen is reporting Colorado McCain 48% and Obama 46%.
In my mind McCain has to take EITHER PA or CO to win.
Or said another way, Obama has to take BOTH PA and CO to win.
This is good news.
Obama has nothing left. He’s hoping for a major gaffe from McCain and counting on the media.
But I think his mission was to destroy the democratic party, actually, and he has.
He still has a little bit of charisma, but not that much. But he has a lot of lying left and those lies will be sounding quite good to a lot of people.
Next lie is to disown the Iraqi foreign minister and call him a liar. Now “Hoshyar Zebari” is a liar and the Iraqi’s are going to love that.
Can’t you just hear Obama, “That’s not the Hoshyar Zebari I knew.”
The more Obama spends to get his “message” out, the further he sinks in the polls.
The problem is not the cash, it’s the candidate.
Obama can’t inflate his way out of the energy crisis, and he can’t spend his way out of his campaign crisis.
Obie limped to the finish line even though he outspent Hillary at least 3:1 in most states and she had the press and the DNC against her — and still they had to “help” Obama to the nomination.
Throwing $$$ at the problem doesn’t always work. People want see you out there ‘pressing the flesh’ and talking the issues.
Those big hoity toity speeches are not going to help him in the states he needs to win.
Elitists do not have a very good record of getting elected to the Presidency.
Paint all the states red and maybe we can get a ‘Dean Scream’. Yeah, that would be great on the nite Barky loses the election.
Look at the little trollies with their new talking points. So nice and fresh, they smell like Febreeze.
More cram school tomorrow, power-crikets. Go to be early so you show up at juku on time.
P.S. Don’t forget to bring your own supplies, and a sugar-free snack to share with the class.
actually the trolls are just recycling the same garbage they used through the primaries. boring and predictible.
Truthteller:
What is your take on Virginia??? I have been trying to understand VA all day… I don’t know much about the demographics there other than it has been changing
due to Dems. that work in DC and live in VA (in addition to the large AA population). On the opther hand I know it has military population. But what else?
Today there were two polls from VA : the only state that had McCain losing some ground ??
Virginia is tied in poll after all. I imagine McCain will win, but it will be close. In fact, I think this election will be decided by 100,000 votes or less in at least 15 states, especially as Obama will engage in voter fraud wherever he can.
I guess we better hope the Republicans are better cheaters.
I doubt that Obama will win in VA.
Can’t understand where these numbers are coming from.
I’ve lived in this state all my life, and I’ve already bet money on the outcome.
McCain only has to hammer in 5-6 battle ground states, and Don Meredith will be singing “The Party’s Over” 8pm Eastern, election night.
Enviable position for McCain to be in, unless he becomes all “Gentlemanly”, sits on his ass, and loses the Big Mo.
I was born & raised in Virginia.
Barack Obama will not win Virginia.
Where is Obama gaining support? (What states)
Where is Obama gaining support? (What states)
Yep, we all missed that one. He projects on everything else, so we should have caught him on that other bit of news early on (yes, WE knew it, but the dim Dem Leaders apparently didn’t) when he said he was going to change Red states Blue, he MEANT he was going to change Blue states RED
What a map changer… the DNC was right about that! Who would have guessed?
Sarcasm is rarely funny, but this election is becoming funnier by the minute…
I will always remember that smugness on Brazilla’s face when she talked about the NEW Dem, urban, hip, etc.. Donna, I was your base, but you told me to stay home. No can do. I think I’ll go to the polls on Nov. 4th and pull the lever all the way down for Repubs. I’m in Colorado, you know that toss up state, and I’ll do my damn best to make sure everyone I come in contact with knows about Barry Soetoro.
Hey Donna, Vinnie sounds cool, dontcha think? Colorado? Wow, that’s gotta give Donna some food for thought.
I can tell the DB eats, but I haven’t seen any proof that she thinks.
Yes, that was a horribly foolish and rude comment for Donna Brazile to make. I think she is a very bitter woman.
The shit-heads at 6th Street Productions in Denver who sported anti-Hillary videos last winter must be wondering what the hell happened with the polls showing McCain ahead in this normally Blue state, never looking at the person and trying to understand who he is, but just following like drugged puppies, perfect examples of KOOL-Aid drinkers. Assholes: you’re getting what you deserve.
tillthen, Colorado is a purple state voting for Bush in the last two elections.
Can someone give me the link to the PUMA site that provide several political news links (and articles) per day? I think it had a blue background. I seem to have removed that link from my feeds by mistake. Thanks.
Could you mean http://blog.pumapac.org/ ?
It has 1+ article per day, and has a blue icon but not a blue background, or perhaps
http://alegrescorner.soapblox.net/ ? It has 1+ article per day and is sort of blue.
You might check the blogroll at NQ (scroll down right hand side in blue typeface, perhaps it is listed there.

It will come down to one thing: Will working voters trust the same party that created the problems to solve the problems?
How do they feel as they watch their 401K stocks drop 500 points in a day after months of decline?
Who will they trust when they wonder if the banks where they have their savings accounts will lock their doors?
Traditionally, when regular Americans worry about the economy, they look to the democrats. The democrats have a long history of looking out for the little guy.
The republicans have their own recent history to deal with.
TROLL ALERT. NO ONE WILL TRUST OBAMA AND HIS AFRICAN GIVE-A-WAY. STOP SPEWING TROLLTRASH!!!
If Clinton was nominated, we would have reason to be confident in Democrats’ ability to handle the economy. But with Obama as the nominee, we have someone with no experience at the head of our Party. As a result, working Democrats will vote for McCAin, for at least McCain has enough experience to understand how to reform the economy. And McCain, moreover, is the only candidate who is discussing the economy in his advertisements. Obama, on the other hand, is ridiculing McCain for his inability to type at a keyboard as a result of his war injuries.
Sure he will.
He reformed things pretty thoroughly over the 26 years he’s been part of the Washington establishment.
Huge tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans that bump up the federal deficit higher than his opponent’s would sure sounds like a plan to me.
Those corporate execs he’s going to hold accountable–they’re part of that group that bags the huge tax cuts, aren’t they?
And Big Oil? I presume big oil will like low corporate taxes. So will their wealthy executives, when they figure their personal taxes on those windfall profits.
Please.
Oh, and Obama hasn’t been discussing the economy?
If you’d been listening to something besides FOX news for the last 6 months, you might realize how ridiculous that statement is.
If you had been listening to something other than MSNBC, you’d understand how unfit and unqualified your candidate is.
Hey Ferd shame on you! The gospels of Maddow, Olbermann and Matthews chronicling the miracles of the mighty Obamessiah are the word of the Ogod!
Oops. I forgot.
This economy does not need a candidate who learned economic policy from Antoin “Tony” Rezko, the slum landlord who helped Obama finance his house.
Obama has never managed anything remotely economic as a Senator. At least McCain is an expert on the budget. Obama is a king of earmarks: $14,000,000 of tax payer revenue to Rezko’s slum landlord business; $225,000 to Father Pfleger’s radical church; earmarks for his wife’s employer.
Our economy needs a fiscally responsible President, not a machine politician from inner city Chicago. And if we do not have Clinton, then I guess we will have to settle for McCain. Obama is too reckless.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Big Oil??? Why did Obama vote for the DICK CHENEY ENERGY BILL when he arived in the Senate?? Must have been that cash Obama and Dick Durban both got from EXELON. Hillary and JOHN McCAIN both voted against this gift for Energy Companies. I guess that doesn’t fit your story very well
http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008/09/update-fannie-mae-and-freddie.html
If you go to this non-partisan website you’ll see who Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were buying off prior to the meltdown. This current banking and Wall St. crisis is the product of the lack of oversight on Freddie and Fannie. To be fair, this lack of oversight has been going on for a long time — at least through the Clinton years. But the current majority in Congress did nothing either.
So who have been the top 3 recipients of Freddie and Fannie largesse between 1989 - 2008?
Dodd.
Obama.
Kerry.
But-but-Obama wasn’t in the Senate until 2004, you might say. Yep, the Freddie and Fannie lobby has seen to it that Obama, the rising star, would say nothing.
If Hillary Clinton were the nominee, she would have a commanding lead simply because it IS THE ECONOMY, STUPID. The problem is BO doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about with regards to the economy. All he can do is attack the other team…and that’s not working anymore. The Dems squandered their 2 years in charge of Congress and the attitude of the electorate is a pox on both your houses. Since the Dem candidate doesn’t know anymore than the Repub candidate, vis a vis the economy, its a wash.
You’re right typically a Dem would be viewed as more likely to turn around the economy (especially one named Clinton) unfortunately that’s not the case this year. Oh well, coulda, shoulda, woulda…..
I believe if Hillary Clinton were the nominee, it would be a super tight race right down to Election Day.
The Kerry states would all go to Hillary, except she would have a very tough fight in MN and WI.
If she won both of those, it would have come down to FL and OH, and she would have had at least a 50/50 chance of winning each, and would only need one to win the election.
Trusting Obama is an oxymoron.
hey stupid;
democritters control congress, and don’t forget:
biden = banking;
dodd = housing;
rangel= appropriations
need i say more? didn’t think so…
Hey Douchebag,
1. In 1980, the national debt was about $980 BILLION. But this was due to ALL previous admins, not just Jimmy Carter’s.
2. 1984: Reagan doubles the national debt to $2 TRILLION.
3. 1988: Reagan added another TRILLION to $3 TRILLION. When asked about the staggering national debt, and his role in trippling it, Reagan quips: “The debt is big enough to take care of itself.” Cute, huh?
4. 1990: Dems force Bush41 to raise taxes on the rich. This was the first step in bringing back financial discipline to US budget. Bush41 wanted war with Iraq, Dems would only go along with it if he became more fiscally responsible. Weird trade off, I know… BTW, in 1980, Bush41, as a rival candidate, called Reaganomics “voodoo economics”. As prez, make no mistake about it, Bush41 practiced “voodoo economics”.
5. 1993: Bush hands Bill Clinton a $4.2 TRILLION national debt and a $290 BILLION annual deficit. You do know the difference between “debt” and “deficit”, right? Anyway, Bush41 added another $1.2 TRILLION to the national debt during his 4 years.
6. 1993: Bill Clinton passes an economic stimulus package by one vote in the House. It raises taxes on the rich, among many other initiatives. Every Republican from Dole to Gingrich says “it will DESTROY the economy”. FACT: The exact opposite happened and Bill Clinton creates 22,000,000+ jobs in 8 years, leaves Bush43 with a record, indeed breathtaking $225 BILLION annual surplus, millions leave the ranks of the poor to become middle class, etc., etc., etc.
7. 2001: Bill Clinton leaves Bush43 with $225 BILLION surplus and $4.5 TRILLION debt, i.e. in all 8 years, Bill Clinton added only $300 BILLION to the national debt. Note that the interest payments on the national debt alone is now about that much per year.
8. 2008: National debt is now closing in on $10 TRILLION.
9. Thus, the GOP is responsible for at least 90% of the $10 TRILLION national debt.
Need I say more?
Oops, I made a mistake:
In 2006, the interests payments alone on the national debt was $406 BILLION! Whoopee! How cool!

Republicans really need to keep their pie holes shut.
Here’s a fascinating connection:
The Republicans gained control over all three branches of government in 2000. They immediately began to take apart the New Deal—a perennial fantasy of the far right.
Eight years later…and America is teetering on the brink of the Second Great Depression.
Q: Is this a coincidence?
A: Only to a Republican.
umm, that worked in 1992.
it’s not the economy, stupid, it’s the bull-shit.
I wouldn’t trust BHO with my 401K, any more than I would trust him with my world. The world is more important. Get it?
It is going to take me a minute to posy this because I am laughing so hard now!! LOL!
Is this for real? LOL! OMG! I think it is!!

Take good care,
Paul Monteiro
Deputy Director of Religous Affairs
Obama for America
Hmmm…who is the “Director” I wonder?
Jeremiah “GD America” Wright? Father Pfleger?
Louis Farrakhan?
HAHA!!
Obama shows his true colors and insults Believers, and now he wants their votes?
Oh that is rich!!
NO WAY! NO HOW! NOBAMA!
Thanks, Ironman, great stuff. Odorky, at it again.
Pro-family Obama? Have you seen the Palin rallies? I could not believe how many children have been in attendence.
Do they have an Obama bobble-head for the dashboard to ensure save travel?
Does this mean I can get a Oburqa?
LMAO!
Satan is pro-Obama?
satan worships him - it’s a hierarchical thing…
How about :”Burkas for Obama”
More economic gloom and doom from an “economy concern troll.”
I trust the McCain with my money much more than I trust Obama.
And let’s not forget that he must also spend quite a bit amount of time fundraising for the DNC (which is a disaster) and for himself (thatnks to giving up public funding).
Here is a nice round-up of the $$$ situation of both parties at this point:
http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/rubin/30341
“Traditionally, when regular Americans worry about the economy, they look to the democrats. The democrats have a long history of looking out for the little guy.”
Tell that to those of us who were alive during the Carter years.
Tell that to all the residents of Obama’s state Senate district who were forced to live without heat and sanitation services in Rezko’s tenements as Obama was pocketing the slum landlord’s cash.
thank you pelosi, reid, obama, biden, dodd, rangel, frank, …
obama and biden BOTH voted “NO” to Katrina Relief…
what a metaphor for the democritters: “all wet!”
O’Reilly was disgusting tonight, praising Obama about surviving his tough childhood, comparing him to BILL CLINTON!!!!!! Obama is nothing but a doll compared to Clinton. O’Reilly needs to be kicked off. He now represents the SPIN FOR OBAMA ZONE.
O’Reilly has turned out to be a POS! Why don’t you tell him that:
Oreilly@foxnews.com
Billdo has always been a POS. There were two narcissists on display tonight and they are both douche bags.
i was thinking the very same thing tonight!
he repeatedly used the word “unstable” referring to Obambi’s childhood. he implied his mother was a freak. he said his grandfather was a excentric.
that seemed pretty negative to me. throwing in a vague comparison to Bill just added some balance.
didn’t seem like an endorsement to me.
I don’t watch him anymore.
BEAUTIFUL!
Hillary 2012
Please God, save us from Oblahma.
It couldn’t happen to a better guy!
Thanks for providing us with these unbelievable numbers Truthteller. I had a feeling that all the Clinton supporters in NY and NJ weren’t capitulating that easily.
He only won one county in the Primary. 2 college towns very close together.
I live btween Syracuse and Fort Drum. I dont think his new ” Hold off on Iraq” helping him too much around here.
Sorry, but as a lifelong Democrat I am “not” enjoying it, even though I know it’s absolutely necessary to inject the poison to rid the body of rot. If the Democratic Party does not get it “this” time then they are hopelessly diseased, flawed.
Bill Clinton said the “third time” is not the charm, meaning three humiliating Democratic losses in a row. If the third loss doesn’t turn this party around from its far left, hyper-intellectual, fringe domination then all is lost.
The Democratic Party has lost its heart, its ability to talk to ordinary people, the people in the trenches–rural people, blue-collar workers, even women–all those people they’ve taken for granted, and then in a fit of arrogance said could stay home in November.
The backbone of the party.
And Barack Obama and his band of merry Chicago thugs with the help of Pelosi, Reid, Dean and Brazile have gleefully broken the party’s back. They’ve done it willfully, deliberately, smugly.
They all need to go. Maybe to Alaska ;0).
hell no… they won’t have them… and i don’t blame them!
What’s Hillary’s favorite color? Red.
Red until 2012 you mean.
It’s green. It’s a sea green color like a psychedelic green. I know. She said it at a rally. She pointed to someone with that color on.
Thanks for letting us know, Maverick. What I’ve read/heard: Green is associated with Mother Earth, a nurturing, healing color. Believe it says something about what she identifies with in life. Would like to see exactly which hue of green she pointed out.
This just in:
Keep pushing on this story. Send the stuff from the NY Post and MSNBC to as many people as you can:
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/06/16/1146329.aspx

“Traditionally, when regular Americans worry about the economy, they look to the democrats. The democrats have a long history of looking out for the little guy.”
Meaning, looking out for their vote. Because the people who cut the income taxes of the little guys, who lowered the capital gains tax so little guys could keep more of their retirement money and savings, who kept interest rates low so little guys could afford homes and cars and consumer goods, who fought the death tax so small business owners and farmers could pass on their businesses and farms to their children, that was not done by Obamabots. Obamabots see the little guy as their meal ticket, to be bought off with goodies and entitlements.

McCain Responds to Obama’s Reported Undermining of the Commander-In-Chief During Wartime
The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama’s judgment and it demands an explanation.
Go for it, John!
Yep, it’s not exactly clear what Obama tried to undermine, but it sure sounds promising, doesn’t it?
That personal honor of yours is getting a little tarnished this time around, John. Maybe you can polish it up a bit after the election. It’s never quite going to shine the same again, though.
This makes me sad.
But not for Barack Obama.
I’m sad for what the republican strategists have finally done to Capt. John McCain.
I can see the nuns in the church parking lot taking down the license numbers of the cars with “Catholics For Obama” stickers. Then the announcement before communion, ” Would those who arrived in the vehicles with the following plates please refrain from receiving communion until you meet with a priest”.
lol!
OK people we all have to work hard now. WE are on the last stretch. I have Republican signs up in my yard (first time in my life. I have donated money to the McCain/Palin campaign and I also am going to make phone calls for them. If we all do this we can make a difference. Obama has the young kids - we have to do this so we win!!! Please get out there and help!!!
McCain 2008
Hillary 2012
AGREED!
From the NY Post—-we knwo how it leans, but this is an interative poll.
With about two months to go in the general election, who are you planning on voting for?
61 % John McCain
33.4 % Barack Obama
5.6 % Undecided
Wall Street Crisis Hits Campaign Trail
US Hopeful On India Deal
Paulson On The Economy
Us N.Y. women are not angry at Obama for not picking Senator Clinton as his running mate, she is too qualified to play second fiddle to this media made loser. We are angry at Obama, MSM and most of all the DNC for rigging the primary election against our Senator and engaging in the worst pile on misogyny that I have ever seen in any election.
I wish the media would stop lying about why women are swinging towards McCain. We women and our candidate were fucked over by our own party. The dems have lost all credibility with democratic women and we are willing to vote republican to make that point and to defeat the “NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY”, the misogyny party.
Women do not run away we CHOOSE our battles and our Leaders. When our voices were silenced through shenanigans We CHOSE to vote with our FEET.
We Must Re-Take the Democratic Party and Clean it up.
And we women know a thing or 2 about cleaning house!
“We Must Re-Take the Democratic Party and Clean it up.”
history will be very kind to PUMAs… and deservedly so…
The DNC wanted to make history with this election, and lo and behold, they very well might! (Just not in the way that they intended…)
Well put.
Barack Obama is a gutter politician.
Early on, he managed to mask his dirtiness with glossy words, but only until the going got tough.
Then, the Gutter Boy in Obama emerged.
From now, he says, he’s going to take off the gloves and get “tough.”
Yeah? Well, that is just going to scare the hell out of the independents who already think he’s a very big question mark — what with having NO record of accomplishment or achievement, other than winning earlier dirty elections in Chicago, and winning them “Chicago-style.”
Some advice for the Empty Suit with the big ears:
Be even nastier … blow off more voters … insult the woman who is running for the vice presidency some more … keep ridiculing John McCain for not being able to type on a computer keyboard (McCain cannot use a computer keyboard because of the permanent injuries he suffered as a result of the torture inflicted on him when he was a prisoner of war in a North Vietnamese prison).
It just shows you utter lack of common sense … and you can forget all about having any class.
Just employ some more of your scary gutter tactics.
Yup, that’ll work for you, Gutter Boy.
And, tell us again how much you don’t need older voters or the blue-collar workers — you know, the ones who “cling” to guns and religion and hate “foreigners.”
Maybe you ought to go out for a walk or something. Carrying around so much anger isn’t good for your health.
At least get away from the computer for a bit until you feel a bit calmer. Always works for me!
Good advice. It works for me too!
Well, Sweetie, I was and remain a Hillary supporter and do NOT support Barack Obama.
Do you have a problem with that?
I don’t think she has a problem with that. But I have a problem with the term “sweetie”.
Actually, believe it or not, some Democrats *do* want to lose. Al Gore is not president today because many Democrats voted for Nader. Nader received 2.74% of the vote, and if he had not been in the race, Al Gore would have won both Florida and New Hampshire making him president.
The result would likely have been to avoid the Iraq war, Guantanamo, Torture, Valerie Plame, and perhaps even jump start alternative energy 8 years earlier. It would have been a very different country. However in the 2000 election many progressives thought the Democratic party was too conservative and corporate. For example, the Nation magazine congratulated Nader voters for their principled actions. Nader himself referred to both parties as “Republicrats” and implied there was no real difference between them.
Voting for Nader allowed the Democrats to lose and become the opposition party, and for the far left to play a greater role that led to Howard Dean and Barack Obama. So for them, mission accomplished. And I plan to pay them back by not supporting their candidate.
Yeah.
Fuck Nader!
How do you think Bill Clinton got elected with 43% of the vote, or Richard Nixon for that matter? Do the names Ross Perot or George Wallace mean anything to you? Stuff happens, including even accidental presidents.
if gore had won his own state, this would all be irrelevant…
good points, though!
Tristan,
You’re absolutely right!
That’s the history of this nightmare.
So in essence, the leftwing helped to facilitate the Iraq War.
I am a Republican, but I want to thank the folks on this site for saving the Democrat Party from being taken over by the far-left moonbats.
We need two good opposition parties in this country that would serve most of the people’s needs should they get into office.
But BO, being supported by George Soros and his Moveon.Org group, does not represent America.
They want to take this country down the road to Socialism and 3rd World Status.
Thanks so much. I never thought I’d say that to Democrats.
And whodda thunk Barack Obama would be a uniter after all — he just never meant to be in this way.
Country First!
Party Second!
The problem is, Obama is not a far leftist. If he has any convictions at all, he’s some kind of neocon.
Obama is a Marxist.
Obama is a snake-oil salesman, nothing more. He doesn’t have the energy or the conviction to be a revolutionary.
JM08, McCain is the agressor. Again your not making sense. Obama is a pansy and his campaign is all buzzwords and campaign slogans.
McCain has been hammering Obama since the end of july.
Your assuming because after being clobbered for 2 weeks and hammered with tough ads that now it is over because obama says so?
How is obama the agressor?
You just do not make sense.
Anybody who would say that Bob Dole was a nice guy is insane. Why bother responding to such an idiot?
Especially since the idiot is a troll.
It is exciting to see not only increased polling progress for McCain and Palin, but even leads in Electoral College tallys (See for example, RealClearPolitics.com which gives McCain a 20 vote lead; Pollster.com still has Obama leading but its data is out-of-date).
I love the list order of the states: NY, MN, PA, OH, MI. It made me think of “Lions and tigers and bears, OH MI (my). LOL!
ROFLMAO
LOL!

Unquote;
And I say, here, here. Well said, my sentiments exactly.
Thank you. I think what is happening is something no one could have predicted or expected.
Life is what happens when you make other plans!
My republican sister and her family were all behind me when Hillary was in the primary. Now I’m behind them in their candidate. I woke up in another dimension this year.
John McCain’s rashest judgment call to date, Sarah Patronage as his vp pick, is single-handedly dooming his campaign. He is deservedly drowning in the avalanche of shameful facts coming out about this ditzy dame. Hence the palpable desperation couched in proven lies in his latest attack ads.
John McCain, this is a ball to witness but cement shoes wudda been faster! LOL!
Kitty: Jealous of Palin some?
No. Just short on her quota for troll posts for the night.
Troll sweat. It gets harder and harder to make quota.
Yeah. I think she is jealous. She really wanted to be Obama girl, but she didn’t have the… (ahem)…. qualifications.
Yep, McCain’s rising poll numbers are definitely evidence that Gov. Palin was a ‘bad’ choice. Obama would be dancing in the aisles if he had made such a ‘bad’ choice. And hey, thanks for the sexist characterization of the Governor. Nice to know we can always count on one of Obama’s sweeties to demean a strong woman.
Have any self-esteem, sweetie?
His sexist treatment of Palin has convinced women in NY and Jersey to vote McCain. And for some reason I think that damage is irreparable.
kitty; do you go by a nickname?
that’s why Mac is up in the national polls and the “safe state” “swing state” polling are either now safe or leaning red.
bummer for you.
have some more koolaide
i hear the “red” is really tasty, and full of non-barky goodness
Palin had a rally in front of 5,000+ people today in Colorado. Barry? Still looking for it in our news, but can’t seem to find it. Your messiah is a mess.
meow.
This is totally OT to this thread anchovy. I guess the Obammunist handed you the wrong .txt file for your copy/paste talking points today, ey?
LOLZ at you not with you
Sarah Palin rocks!!
i’m a new yorker. i like red.
me too.
As a lifetime democrat I have anguished over watching those states go red on election night.
This year I’m thinking of hosting a party. There will be a fun drinking game. Everytime a state goes red you pop open a cold one. It will, of course,
have to be a slumber party– cause no one’s gonna be fit to drive by the end of it! Booyah! Go red!
LOL
Will you be serving Bloody Barrys?
Bloody Barry’s? Isn’t that red kool-aid with vodka and a marajuana leaf?
Keep an eye on Washington and Oregon polls. This is the “Left coast” Republicans always lament about. The liberal stronghold, LOL.
In Wa Obama began with a 17 point lead. He’s now down to 4. Palin was a brilliant pick because this is the Pacific Northwest, Palin territory.
Also check out some of those red state. Obama was never going to win places like Utah, but geesh down by like 29 points? That indicates Republicans are rallying around McCain/Palin with a vengeance.
Yup. Pacific Northwest is Palin territory. Most of Oregon is Republican. The Dems are packed in the few urban areas.
I’d really like to see some Massachusetts poll numbers. And good luck to O’Reilly tomorrow.
Seconded on the Mass polling. I grew up in Mass in a fairly conservative little town and I have no doubt that there are McCain signs up on their lawns.
So come on, pollsters…give us some insight into California and Massachusetts!
The Gov here in WA, Christine G. only beat the republican candidate by about 100 votes. This state can definately swing either way. I am independent now, and after lifelong democratic voting, I am for MCain Palin with enthusiam. I know Hillary will vote for them, too. Don’t beat Hill up, please. She is a wonderful lady. I am not going to second guess her. I am a very feminine woman who shod horses for a living for 15 years. I love men, but I think we need women in office. I am so happy to have voted for Hill, and will vote for Sara with delight.
kitty, your in angry left land. The only folks who dislike her are those supporting obama.
The only lie, is you saying he is drowning in shameful facts.
It must hurt to have to run against your worst fear.
A cstrong conservative,pro-life,pro-gun women.
She shatters all those dumb stereotypes liberals have created for women to keep them in their tent.
Also, according to all the polling a majority of americans think she was the best pick and she has the highest favorability rating of the four candidates.
She has an 80 percent approval rating in her state. Your so far detached from reality you must be in space.
Let’s not take anything for granted. Even though we can smell how sweet it is that Obama fulfills the prophecy of failure in the general election, his crew is definitely capable of using Bush-tactics to tamper bigtime with the electoral process. Underneath all this I also have a whiff of voter fraud germinating in our midst. PUMA has a good action, which is reminding the Obama campaign that we are watching them like hawks. Will it do any good? Part of me believes that Obama is every bit as bad as Bush if not worse. Will the liar reap the spoils in the end?
“Will the liar reap the spoils in the end?”
Of course not. The McCain/Palin pig gets slaughtered in the end. duh
I too smelt that whiff and have cautioned myself not to rest on my laurels. With what happened to Hillary in the primaries, I have no doubt that Bambi and his browncoats will try to cheat their way into the WH.
Go get some buttons to mark the death of the DNC…
http://www.cafepress.com/flgirl.305815446
Better yet get some buttons to mark the Re-Birth of the Real DNC once Dean and his ilk are gone!
Me too, I just added some retro McCain and cutesy stuff into my shop, too:
http://www.cafepress.com/pumapride/5981518 Retro McCain/Palin
http://www.cafepress.com/pumapride/5981535 Cute Politix, with quite a few Palin chibis
I’ll be adding more. I’ve also got NObama symbol pins and PUMA stuff (which I need to update).
PUMA John
I missed seeing your threads truthteller. I was glad to see your thread today. Great numbers for many of us math enthusiasts.
thank you for your kind words, maverick. i look forward to reading more of your comments.
JM 08 - There is a huge AA population who is threatening to riot in the event that Obama loses. As a result McCain has to be careful so that he can govern this constituancy. I am proud of the kind of campaign McCain is running and I know he will continue to fight for the Presidency in every we he can. New book out now attaches Obama to voter fraud. Its all happening… lets be patient.
They won’t riot. Manning says they’ll be disappointed but then shrug it off and go eat some cereal and watch some cartoons. He says they are not ambitious enough to riot.
They will hurl text messages through some store windows and that’s about it.
IF I WERE PRESIDENT McCAIN, I WOULD “VETO” ANY BILL TO REBUILD THE CITIES THAT HAVE BURNED AND ASK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO VOICE THEIR OPINIONS THROUGH THEIR CONGRESSCRITTERS AS TO WHETHER OR NOT TO APPROVE ANY SUCH TAXPAYER FUNDING.
IF YES, SO BE IT - THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER SHALL REBUILD THE CITIES.
IF NO, LET COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS REBUILD THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS!
Rock On!
could keep Barry busy and out of trouble for a while, we can ll watch the progress at hand..
U know working for a living!!
I heard this same shit in 2004 about rioting in the streets if Kerry lost to Bush.
Nothing happened then. Nothing will happen now.
me thinks it may be different this time…
How can they riot if they are holding their blackberry in one hand and their latte in the other?
mcpalin hill,
Thanks for pointing this out.
More significant than any immediate rioting in the aftermath of the election, is that McCain and Palin will have to govern. Also, I think if 0bama loses by a small margin, he will continue to play racial politics and come back in 2012.
Also, Manning is an idiot.
If he loses and tries to come back in 2012, us Hillary Dems won’t let him. He fucked us over once and he’s not going to do it again. We’ll see to it that he becomes the next Ralph Nader. Or even better, the next Lyndon Larouche.
mcpalin hill | 2008-09-15 20:30:34
I betcha the National Guard will be on full alert come the GE.
Nothing will happen.
On November 4 we’ll watch the results, some will be happy, some will be sad but virtually everyone will get up the next morning and go about their business. Just like we always have.
The only riot will be on Daily Kos.
LOL “daily kos”
I’m a seventh generation Floridian, whose family have been staunch Democrats. Well, guess what - we are ALL voting Republican in November.
Stick that in your crack pipe, Obama!
That’s not the Blue State I knew
Touché
Kerry was up in New York by 5 in September at one point. It doesn’t matter. NY will go blue. He will win it big
I notice you have no evidence for your claims.
i never do
I agree that it’s highly likely that New York will go for Obama on Election Day. But if the polls tighten enough, then that will force Obama to spend precious time and resources shoring up NY that he could be spending elsewhere. Same with California. If he should somehow happen to lose either of those two states, he’s dead. He can’t afford to take a chance on that happening.
But of more realistic concern to Obama should be his deteriorating position in Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Last time with this rant.
If you are registered D or I in MA. Please vote in the primary tomorrow. It is important, right now, today, to send a message to Kerry and Kennedy.
We are as mad as hell and we are not going to take it any longer.
Kerry is opposed in the Democratic primary.
His challenger is Ed O’Reilly.
This is my latest e-mail to him (he sends them himself, and replies back)
VOTE ED O’REILLY
Show John Kerry that he cannot take Massachusetts for his personal play ground.
He Violated the Public Trust when as a Super Delegate he went for Oblahblah instead of Senator Clinton AS HIS CONSTITUENCY HAD VOTED!
Ed O’Reilly has no DNC loyalty debts he is a self made man and has worked for everything he has in life. He is at heart a reformer from wht I have read and seen. We need NEW BLOOD IN THE SENATE.
I hope Ed O’Reilly wins.
However, it would be political suicide for him to come out against 0bama. He’s in the same boat as Hillary.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Obama takes only DC and not a single state! The only demographic that is solidly for him is about 95% of the black vote, and even the Southern states with large black populations have already been surrendered to McCain. The youth support has reportedly slipped, and everyone knows how unreliable this group is in actually getting to the polls. Some insist this year will be different. But why? The pundits need not assure us that the white liberal vote is unshakable, either. BO has waffled constantly and is bound to have disenchanted many followers, who may simply not vote for Prez. In the last few decades, states usually thought of as blue have gone red, and with a candidate as divisive and controversial as Obama, even CA could easily be lost. The dynamic is very different this year! We’ve never had anyone running with even a tenth of the baggage Bobo is lugging around. The very idea that he could win is a fantasy.
Clearly, anti-Clintonism is a form of delusional psychosis.
Bush will legalize dope by executive order on 10/31, all junior obots will be so blissfully stoned that they’ll miss not only election day, but mid-terms, their parents 20th anniversary and paying the rent. Facing failure, their parents wrath and eviction, they will en masse enlist in the Marines, who have lowered their standards and will now accept low-rise jean wearing, dope-smoking, koolaide-drinking, internet-porn-surfing, non-hackers in their beloved Corps. Suitably conditioned and brainwashed, the slacker division will go on to achieve high honors (posthumously) in the further Iraq/Afghan/Iran/Pakistan war on terror. In addition, when asked about their political involvement during this pivotal time in history, they’ll respond with
“uh, uh, what”?
“Barack who”?
a minor footnote in history
We just need a “Jackass” marathon going on… they won’t leave the house all day.
Those “low-rise jean wearing, dope-smoking, koolaide-drinking, internet-porn-surfing, non-hackers” trolls won’t get dope legalized but they want to legitimize a dope named Ohitler alright.
Don’t worry about black folks rioting if the Obamessiah loses. As we learned here in Los Angeles in 1991, blacks only destroy their own parts of town.
Just say no to Obama Bin Biden.
Obama is a map changer. Problem for the democrats is that he will turn blue states red… But that is change as well…
I dunno, but the continuing collapse of the financial giants may be a game changer in favor of Obama. Geeze, 500 point drop in the DOW! The conditions on the grounds are changing.
If people vote on issues, the Democrat will win, i.e. Obama will win. If they vote on personality, Obama will lose. With respect to the economy, the shit is really hitting the fan now. We’ve got $4.00/gal gas again thanks to Hurricane IKE.
BTW, in 2002, just before the midterm election, the price of gas dropped from about $1.60/gal down to about $1.20/gal.
In 2004, just before the presidential election, a similar huge drop occurred. I can’t remember the numbers.
In 2006, just before the midterm election, the price of gas dropped from about $3.20/gal down to $2.20/gal.
In 2008, it went from about $4.25/gal down to $3.60/gal and now it is back up to $4.00/gal. Even Bill O’Reilly noted today that in the past 6 months or so, the price of crude dropped by about 35%, but the price of gas dropped only by about 7%. The oil companies had already shut down much of their refining capacity long before IKE due to the lower demand, i.e. the price of gas would have been much lower if they hadn’t.
And lets not forget that Bob Woodwood wrote in one of his recent books that the Saudis had offered to help Bush in 2004 by increasing crude production. Further, the corporate media keeps suppressing the basic fact that the oil speculators are responsible for about 1/2 of the cost of a gallon of gasoline.

Remember when Bill Clinton was President? Gas was a buck a gallon. Boy, those were the days!

Fuck, if there weren’t term limits, Bill Clinton would be running for his 5th term, and most Republicans would be demanding that his likeness be put on Mt. Rushmore.
Do you really think it will be that easy? The Democrats have been a waste of space for over 60 years. Do you really think there is something recoverable there? I say it’s highly unlikely; I say it’s a lost cause; I say rethink your strategy.
If you think the Democrats have been a waste of space for the last 60 years, you shouldn’t be hanging around here. PUMA is a Democratic group. There are plenty of right-wing blogs and forums where you can rail against Democrats, and none of us here would miss you all that much.
A class in recent American history class might be good. Find out which party gave us the longest sustained period of economic growth in history, and other fun facts.
OUCH! Ease up! That comment has some substance to it. The Democratic party has now what the Pubs have never had: half the party is angry and willing to do something about it. Reforming a political machine is cumbersome, but, with the numbers starting a viable 3rd party that speaks for the moderates of both Pubs and Dems may have wide appeal and be easier to launch in the wake of the hijacking by the far left. Just a thought. Both parties are talking WITH each other, when was the last time that happened? Cant blow ideas out of the water because they have an R or a D after it…
This is why Hillary’s seeming acquiescence to the Democratic Party’s wishes, and her graciousness to the DNC and Obama–which many here criticized her for–shows its true genius. If she had acted angry or outraged (granted, she had enough justification to do so!), she would have been seen as a bitter loser.
But throughout the whole debacle she has supported Obama, supported the party, shone with graciousness and sportsmanlike conduct. She doesn’t ever have to say “I told you so.” The party will have to bend on its knee and kiss her *** and beg her to save it next time around. What price do you suppose she will extract? Whose heads on a platter?
Just had to see it again.
I heard on fox last night that o’s camp is going door to door regeristering people to vote, also leaving them an absentee ballott,to fill out and taking them with them! More dirty tricks from accorn! We THE PEOPLE, NEED to do more to see to it that people voting isn’t intimidated in ANY WAY ON voting DAY!! OTHER WISE THE G.E, will be stolen just like the primary was!! NOoooooobama!!!!!!!
Hello. I’m a Regan Republican (almost). Fiscally conservative, hawkish on foreign policy, and socially liberal. Maybe libertarian is a better description.
Obama’s policies scare the crap out of me.
I think what we’re seeing is Obama in his first real campaign, ever, and his inexperience is shining through.
If you look at the economy on a state by state basis, the blue states tend to have poor economies. Not all, but they tend to.
I grew up in a democratic house and I’m amazed what the DNC has become. The last Democratic candidate I supported was Carter. I almost voted for Clinton. I was very unhappy with with Bush not delivering on his promise of bi-partisianship and was leaning Democrat this year. But after watching the DNC primaries I was horrified by what I saw.
The Democrat party is undergoing an internal power struggle between true, moderate populist democrats and some radical, socialist extremists.
It’s a shame. However, this is the first group of democrats onlin that I’ve found that aren’t going crazy throwing insults around making fools of themselves.
You give me hope. I probably wouldn’t have voted for Hillary, for the record.
Despite the author, theres a really good article on the economy in the wall street journal.

I found this article to be very interesting.
Good Luck!
O rilly? Is that why red states take many more welfare dollars per citizen than blue states do? Is that why red states consistently come in at the bottom of national rankings in education, the environment, and income, while ranking at the top in crime and divorce statistics?
Um, no it isn’t. The only people who might be considered “radical socialist” elements of the Democratic Party are Dennis Kucinich and Bernie Sanders (who actually happens to be a member of the Socialist Party). But I don’t see either one of those individuals wielding much power in the Democratic Party. What I do see is a bunch of Republican-lite scaredy-cats tilting further and further to the right vs. the brave moderate populist wing (best exemplified by the Clintons) that you cite.

I am certainly no political authority but read somewhere that since Hillary is just a junior senator she would not be eligible for majority leader. Too Bad!
I hope that the hardworking folks who don’t have access to computers and read only the lies in liberal newspapers and TV programs somehow hear by word of mouth about all the connections Obama has to Marxists, communists, and all the leaders financially supporting him that are bad dudes as otherwise with his fraudulent voting scams across the country he just might pull a out a win.
His voter registration of people who really are not in tune with his lies and bad dude connections could put him over the top as I have heard people say things like “Oh I think it would be nice to have a black president for a change” Boy if they only new the kind of change this particular black candidate would bring. I am PLUM SCARED of these easons for voting for someone?
